The show also features Sheamus discussing his tournament placement and his feud with Dominic Mysterio.
Guests (guest backgrounds)
Sheamus, veteran WWE star and former World Heavyweight Champion; referenced his 2009 TLC match where he shocked the world by beating John Cena and putting him through a table. He also discusses his Celtic Warrior workouts and training/fitness background.
Key claims
Punk frames his reign as a “beginning,” thanks Jey Uso, then disrespects Seth Rollins and lists multiple title challengers. Logan Paul’s return is portrayed as opportunistic “rulebook” behavior, potentially aligning with Paul Heyman/The Vision. Sheamus says facing Cena would be “full circle” and wants a “banger” sendoff for Cena.
Notable examples
Punk’s title “swing” moment tied to Seth’s WrestleMania 31 cash-in; Logan Paul using brass knuckles and chair-assisted chaos; tournament matches announced: Rusev vs Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sheamus.

We learn the first two matches in the John Cena The Last Time Is Now tournament. Sheamus joins us on the show and so much more. This is the Raw Recap, a WWE and Fanatics original production.
0:31I didn't think Megan Morant that Logan Paul had it in him to send us on an emotional rollercoaster. Not to take anything away from Logan Paul, not to say that there's anything he's not capable of, but to say you know Logan Paul. Hey, yo! Whatever his music is, when it plays, you're going to boo.
0:53Sam Roberts:That doesn't sound anything like his music. Well, I don't know. CM Punk doesn't know his music. I don't know his music. But you boo when you hear his music. You boo when you see his face. You boo Logan Paul. That's what you do, don't you? You do. Always. You have to. You have to, but somehow over the course of one episode of Monday Night Raw, it was like, oh my gosh. Is there something heroic about this Logan Paul? I mean, we start Monday Night Raw. CM Punk comes out there and he's addressing the audience for the first time, really, as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. You know, he obviously had it at Saturday Night's main event.
1:28He had it for three minutes at SummerSlam. But this is the first time he's been able to sleep for a night, wake up the next morning, still have the title, put it over his shoulder, and walk on to a television show with it being his show because he is the world heavyweight champion.
1:45Sam Roberts:This is the beginning of the CM Punk world heavyweight title reign. That's right. A special thing. It's a special thing. Especially because two years ago. Impossible. Yes. And it was one of those things we would have speculated on two years ago. oh, can you imagine if he ever got to be champion? We'll never get there. Right. Right. And we're here. We're here. So he thanks his wife. He thanks the fans. He thanks Jey Uso for an incredible match. And I know a lot of people were waiting to see what the Jey Uso situation was going to be on Monday Night Raw. And then he gets very disrespectful to Seth Rollins.
2:21The swing?
2:21Sam Roberts:Yeah. I mean, of all things. It was pretty funny. I liked it. It was very funny. because you know, so that swing, when Punk was swinging the title, lassoing it in the air over his head, that's maybe the most important moment that Seth Rollins has ever had with the WWE Championship. The swing that he had over his head after the heist of the century, when he won the title at WrestleMania 31, cashing in on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. I mean, it changed everything in that moment. It defined Seth Rollins, and CM Punk wants to take this moment for himself because he said that snake in the grass isn't here.
3:00But if Seth does decide to show up, if Seth does heal up, he'll put him right back on the couch, which is, you're right, disrespectful is the word.
3:08Sam Roberts:Yes, but given what Seth Rollins did to CM Punk at SummerSlam with the ruse of the century. What? He cashed in. What? No, you're right. You're right. You're right. There's no love lost between the two of them. And like even before SummerSlam, Right. I mean, these two have hated each other. Seth would even, I believe, is maybe the first episode of Raw Recap earlier this year when Seth was on. Wasn't he the first guest? I want to say he was. And he said, I think it was your question. No, Roman and I don't get along, but we're like, brothers, I hate CM Punk. Hate CM Punk. And I don't think that feeling's ever gone away.
3:48But I don't think CM Punk feels any differently about Seth Rollins. But regardless, it's not his problem. He goes over the list of people that he's ready to defend the title against. And I mean, it's everybody. He said some of them are people he wants to punch in the face, like Bronson Reed, Braun Breaker, Paul Heyman, Dominic Mysterio, which I mean, speaking of disrespectful, felt totally unnecessary. Everybody tonight was coming for Dom. That's when you know you've really made it. That's when you know you're successful.
4:16Sam Roberts:He just has a way of getting under people's skin. Everybody's coming for him. Does this have a punchable face? I mean, it's a very handsome face. Still punchable. Because of the mustache? Yeah. Okay. Well, I mean, what is that? I think that's in the art of war. First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win. That's the path that Dominic Mysterio is on. But regardless, we get to Dominic Mysterio, okay? Let's talk about the world heavyweight champion. Megan, I'm trying to talk about CM Punk, okay? Would you stop interrupting me? So he's talking about all the people that could deserve shots.
4:54He brings up Sheamus's name, who we'll have on the show later. He brings up... J.D.
4:58Sam Roberts:McDonough, Finn Balor. And I love that he's bringing up names like this. I love the idea of seeing... Like the idea of seeing a Finn Balor versus CM Punk match. The idea of seeing a J.D. McDonough versus CM Punk world heavyweight title match. AJ Styles he brings up. You know? John Cena he brings up again. I mean, he wants it all. And good for Punk. This is the moment that he's been waiting for. But just as he's saying that he'll put it up against anyone who deserves it, that music that I hit pitch perfect a moment ago starts to play. And here comes Logan Paul. The first thing I was thinking was I think last week we sat in the studio and I said to you, we haven't seen Logan Paul in a long time.
5:41Yeah, and I think it's since the Cena match.
5:44Sam Roberts:In Paris. Yeah. And I was like, yeah, that is true. We haven't seen him in a while, but it did away. And then I forgot about it. Right. And then the music hit exactly. It's out of sight, out of mind. But it really was. It really was a game changer for sure. When Logan Paul came out and it's so interesting with Logan Paul, because he just like floats between brands entirely. Like there's nothing that's sort of off limits for Logan Paul. He just shows up when it's time for Logan Paul to show up. Whenever there's a moment that can be ruined. Yeah. That's when Logan Paul shows up. to do the rules applied to everybody else and logan paul has his own set of rules right and then logan paul finds like the most buzzworthy person and shows up and goes see i'm the reason why everybody's talking about this and it's like you sure it has nothing to do with cm punk nothing to do with cm punk well just as i go like uh and just as as logan paul is calling cm punk a honda Civic with 270 ,000 miles on it, which is not the greatest automobile comparison to make.
6:48I am thinking like, man, I didn't even really think about Logan Paul versus CM Punk. But especially when you think about like the foundation of both of these two as WWE superstars and who CM Punk is and who he was and the way he came up and how he's the guy that was never supposed to make it. and he had to fight and scratch to get everything and he had to earn absolutely every single opportunity that he ever got. He had to leave everybody with no choice, which is the opposite of the road that Logan Paul has been on. Logan Paul is an incredibly gifted person who also happens to work very hard. I'm sure, we don't see it, but I'm sure he works very hard.
7:31But immediately, you know, from the time he expressed interest in being in WWE, it was like yeah we'd love to have you we'll put you on this pedestal that pedestal that's not the road that cm punk took so i'm getting interested in this sort of dichotomy but at the same time
7:46Sam Roberts:to logan paul's credit he has done very well in every position that he's been in well yet the result is the result yes the method is different yes right but how how he got there is different And because the method is different, that presents to me two completely different philosophies on all of this, which to me always makes for the most interesting stories. Yeah, but I mean, the huge difference is like Logan Paul, even though he's just been placed where he is, he feels as though he's earned it. Logan feels as though he's earned it. Oh, 100%. And it's interesting, too, because. Punk knows that he's earned it.
8:29Yeah, but it wasn't that long ago that there were those people. It wasn't the fans, but there were those people that looked at CM Punk going, you're not one of us. You'll never be a world champion in WWE. You're just not cut from that type of cloth. The same way now, that's out the window. But there are still those that look at Logan Paul and say, you're not a wrestler. You're not one of us. There is this sort of completely different outsider mentality that I think does bring out the best in certain people. And that probably is that result that you're talking about. And that might be the commonality between Logan Paul and CM Punk.
9:09Because I started to feel like, oh, maybe there's something admirable about this Logan Paul. Because he gets, you know, the vision comes out and they say, tell Logan Paul, get the hell out of the ring. You know, Bronson Reed pinned Roman Reigns. Brom Breaker is the future of WrestleMania. Like we're next.
9:26Sam Roberts:Yeah, and Paul Heyman said, I see a bitch without an owner. That's what he called Logan Paul. Yeah, he called CM Punk a king without a crown. And Logan Paul, a bitch without an owner. He said that, and you're just quoting the television. That's right. That's all that is. But he did say that, and that's not kind at all. He said, get out of the ring. And usually Logan Paul doesn't take well to sort of direct orders. But he looked around and said, you know what? That's probably a good idea. Yeah, I don't want to do that. So it was when CM Punk said, you're either fighting with me or you got to get out of the ring.
9:57And for a second, I was like, now that could be interesting. CM Punk and Logan Paul fighting on the same side because they don't like the way this vision is going. And then Logan thought better of it and go, okay, well then I'm leaving. Fight or flight kicked in. Of course, Braun Breaker knocks him down. And then the vision gets in the ring and that's when Logan Paul steps up. And he does eat a tsunami, but with the help of CM Punk in a chair, they chase off the vision. And all of a sudden, even though Logan Paul got crushed by that tsunami, there is still that, that lack of a better term vision of CM Punk and Logan Paul together.
10:32And the fact that this has happened to Logan Paul, all of a sudden, because Logan Paul got back in the ring, it's an honorable thing to do because he took a tsunami. It's a sympathetic position to be in. And all of a sudden you're like, is Logan Paul going to be somebody I'd cheer for? Is Logan Paul going to be like a good guy here? So you flash forward, you go through all this drama with Jey Uso. which by the way I will never understand a Jey Uso hater as long as I live I will never understand these people they're like oh it's time for something else did you I mean do you watch did you see the whole building I saw it was like it was one organism state of New Mexico New Mexico the whole state you got every single person they're all eating yeah they were all excited for Jey Uso Jesse Pinkman was out there everybody everybody they were going nuts for him I'm like this is this is it and jay just breaking it down and saying everybody has been in my ear guess what i don't care i'm done with it now i'm just going to follow what i think is right and what i think is right is fighting with cm punk against the vision and then paul heyman tries to get in his head yes he did and paul heyman knows what he's doing with this jay uso
11:40Sam Roberts:they have history yes and he's like playing weird mind games saying that he agrees with jay trying to hype Jay up. I don't trust him for a second. That's not what your tribal chief would do. Man, I don't care what Roman Reigns would do. That's when it's like, yeah, that's the Jey Uso that you're looking to break through all this nonsense and be on top of his game. That's the Jey Uso that's the best Jey Uso. That's the Jey Uso that gets the reaction that he got. That's the Jey Uso that gets the hot tag from CM Punk in this match and everybody goes nuts for him when he gets in the ring. So the match ends in a double countout.
12:16and now you've got, you know, Jey Uso getting his you-know-what kicked by the Vision. CM Punk gets in there with a chair once again. The Vision are highly indestructible, but those chairs are made of kryptonite. The second somebody shows up with a chair, the Vision's like, no, I'm out, except tonight they figured out, well, we can fight fire with fire. They got chairs of their own. That's when Logan Paul shows up again and now he's by CM Punk's side and I go, oh my goodness.
12:47Sam Roberts:I'm thinking back to the beginning of the show. Right. I'm thinking, oh my gosh, Logan Paul's going to save the day. Like the idea. He's going to side with Jey Uso and CM Punk and The Vision are going to be. And all of a sudden I'm like CM Punk and Logan Paul versus Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed. Like the match that feels like a WCW lethal lottery match that makes no sense at all but somehow I want to see it. And you know this is the real Logan Paul too because he has what Logan Paul always has, which are brass knuckles. Except then he turns and he uses the brass knuckles on Punk and you're like, he got me.
13:21He got me and he did get me. Did he get you?
13:23Sam Roberts:He got me. Yeah, he got me too. He got me too. I had my hopes up. He got me too. And then I don't know. See, it's not even like this was a master plan. Like you could see Paul Heyman is pushing the vision back. But he tells them, you could hear him. If he hits me, kill him. If he hits me, kill him. And Logan Paul is looking down. And you don't know. If Logan Paul is looking down, he took out CM Punk because he feels like he should be the world heavyweight champion. Or if he's helping the vision. Or if he sees a political play that's being moved. Because keep in mind, the reason that Logan Paul is successful in every position that he's in, which you astutely pointed out, is because, I mean, he has no scruples.
14:10Sam Roberts:he'll just figure out which follows his own rule book and and he follows his own rule book and just looks at what the winning side might be and kind of leans over to that side which reminds me of somebody that we both know oh amen mr hayman himself he hands paul hayman and here's the thing this is a very important thing paul hayman said this to jay uso earlier in the night he said that i have kept these guys at bay for two weeks i have stopped them for the last two weeks we're done with that now if you're not with the vision if you're not a part of this vision they're taking you out you are not surviving the night right you are not surviving the night and he goes but jay i don't know maybe you've got a vision but jay jay's like no but i think logan paul was listening to that and i think logan paul was like i don't think you're bluffing and i don't i'm not sure there's any way to beat you guys i don't think i'm not ready to say logan paul is full vision yet potentially vision adjacent but he is sitting there he hands his brass knuckles to Paul Heyman symbolically and to me that gesture is to say I'm here to be of service let me know what you need that's exactly what it seemed like and really when you think about it I think this this whole situation of Logan Paul and the vision needs to unfold.
15:39Sam Roberts:We have so many more questions than we do answers, but what does the vision represent in WWE? The future. The future of the industry. Oh no, don't say what it, what does Logan Paul believe that he represents? Believe. What does Logan Paul believe he represents? He thinks he's the future. That's right. I thought you were going to say he is the future. No, he believes he's the future. Okay. Okay. That was going to depress me. No, I mean, I don't want to say that Logan Paul is the future because I will get killed on the internet for saying that Logan Paul is the future. But Logan Paul believes that he is the future.
16:10Well said. Well said. And that's 100 % right. And if he's going to be the future, maybe he sees like, if I want to represent the future of this industry.
16:18Sam Roberts:I got to be with these guys. I got to stick with the future. I got to be with the tribal thief. And what did Paul call it? The OTT. And the future of WrestleMania. Mania, which is a big, big title for Brom Breaker, but it's not one that I'm willing to argue. Look, we could talk about this all night, but we've got so much to get to. Sheamus is about ready to join the show. I want to talk to Sheamus about what he did to Dominic Mysterio. I want to talk to Sheamus about the fact that he's in this tournament, okay? 19:05Seamus joins us on the show. Seamus, what's going on, man? What's the crock? I'm good. I just want to make the screen a little bit bigger. Give me a sec, man. Yeah. I don't like having full windows in this place. I'm sorry, you know what I mean? Huh? I moved the camera again, did I? Don't worry about it, technology You should be good at this stuff What's going on? What's a crack, man? Yeah, I've got a bit of sprint in here, it was great crack, just run down you know, giving a bit of a slap and a bit of baiting to Dominic Mysterio Who doesn't love giving a baiting to Dominic Mysterio So, it's a bit of a run out for me you know, test the old hamstrings That's good I'm glad everything's holding up okay Megan taught me actually I did a Celtic Warrior workout with Megan where she did kind of a prep for the Boston Marathon and she just left me in bits I couldn't walk for about two weeks after it that's right, that's a true story yeah, Hills, Heartbreak Hills yeah leg day with Megan Morant is not that's not the one you want to do
20:05Sam Roberts:you would never hold up Sam I don't think I would but I don't think I'd hold up for many workouts however, before we get into Dominic I gotta ask you Seamus The news just broke. I mean, it busted my bracket already that I had already crafted. But, of course, like two nights ago, we find out this 16-man tournament is going to go down over the next however many weeks to determine who is facing John Cena in that final match. Seamus, your name has been brought up amongst people like me for months now in terms of who are those people that could get a match with John Cena on this final run. The idea that you're in this tournament, the idea that the possibility is there for you to have John Cena's final match.
20:55How meaningful to you is that? And what would it be like for you to be able to wrestle John Cena at this phase in the game? I think it's very meaningful. Obviously, we go back to 2009. We had that match with TLC when I shocked the world and became one of the fastest ever WWE World Heavyweight Champions by beating them, putting them through a table. And, you know, like that itself launched my career to a whole new level and put me on the map right away. I remember it was like, it must have been a thousand interviews I did. No one expected me to win that. And obviously, like, I'd love to repay the favor, you know, for what was done for me, the opportunity to face him, beat him, but I loved it full circle, give him the match he truly deserves on the way out on his last match of his retirement year.
21:48I think that would be incredible. It's like, I learned a lot from John. I learned an awful lot really, really quickly. I was lucky to get into that position. When you get into that position, you've got to make sure you make the best of it. That's exactly what I did. We wrestled pretty much every single night and live events. We're on the road five days a week, and it really was a baptism of fire. But, yeah, I've taken two WWE titles off John, and what better way for him to send him off with a banger of all bangers. The GOAT of all GOATs goes out with a banger of all bangers. How about that for a line, mate?
22:24Just send him off into the swing set with the greatest match he's ever had. I mean, it would be amazing, and I think that it's a great point you bring up because I think that, you know, people have been watching you for so long. I think they might forget, or maybe they weren't watching, or maybe they weren't around, but I certainly was watching when you first came on the scene. I certainly was watching when you first won the WWE championship, and you can't overstate that. Nobody thought you were going to win. It seemed like you were just one of these big guys that was being built for John Cena to beat and move on to the next guy.

22:56John Cena talks about opportunities and the opportunities that he had, but throughout his career, I think he provided opportunities to people like you and a lot of others. When you think about how early you were in the game when you got that victory versus the person that you are now, the person that's capable of doing what you are now, is it even more mind-boggling to know that you got that when you were as young as you were? Yeah, I think when I look back and obviously it came so fast. That was the goal for me always was to not just make up the numbers, but to be successful and obviously win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
23:38That's the cram of the cram. I grew up watching this. I grew up watching this sport, entertainment, whatever you want to call it. I didn't miss Saturday Night's main event. I didn't miss, I'm trying to think, the Saturday morning shows. I was, you know, all the way through to, like, the new generation, all the way up to the Attitude Era. I was a massive fan. And that's a dream everybody has who watches WWE. And it came true really, really quickly. And was I ready for it? I definitely was green, man. I definitely was very, very, definitely green for sure. And I was learning on the fly. And I was putting everything I possibly brought into it and just trying to, like, just kind of keep it going.
24:22And I knew I had intensity that nobody else had. and that's really what I've like that's kept me kept me unique as well as my skin color and red hair and all that stuff it's my accident been Dublin but I think that the intensity is something that I've always like really kind of leaned into and that's really what kind of sets me apart and that's I feel why I'm still in the game like you know people talk about John Cena like you know retiring like well he's I think he's like a year older than me and I feel like I'm just getting started last week last week i was in there with jd man i'm just just just ripping it up like you know when i first came here there was there was a couple of people that were like they were just kind of phoning in on their merits um and you know just kind of like doing whatever they can and they knew they were here a long time i looked and i said the day i actually the day i don't go out there and give 110 or give everything i possibly have in every single match i don't care if it's a raw smackdown i don't care if it's an nxt you know you know it's main event that they take before the show, I won't go out there and not give everything I have in every single match I have.
25:23And especially with my neck. I felt like my neck, I was written off. So every match I had, every time I get out there, even tonight running out and bleeding and bleeding, Tom, I'm knocking the bollocks out of him. I still get that crazy kind of like adrenaline rush because every bleeding day is a gift, you know? Every time I get out, I'm still going. I've still got it. I still train every heart. I still f***ing need to batter everything. I beeped that out you know what I mean I'm just like that's how great I feel about this business and then we talk like the king of strong style and like we had a match when I came back from that neck injury and I wasn't ready but I feel like that's another banger I just want to have banger after banger it's not just a line it's not just a slogan it's a way of life I have it's what I do in the ring and that's what I want like Shane's case that's gonna I know it's gonna be there with Shane Shane is awesome and I know it's gonna bring that intense it's gonna bring that physicality and I want to go through him to go on to the next guy to the next guy to get to John Cena that's where I'm at that's where I'm at and I've been calling out John for a long long time and I love the fact he's made his tournaments because now everybody gets an equal opportunity to face him in his last match at Saturday Night's main event in Washington DC yeah we lost you for a second right there in the middle but I know exactly I think I know what's it losing me on what's it losing me on Sam I'll repeat it no I think I know exactly what you were saying and it kind of led into what I was going to ask you anyway.
26:47The fact that like you're so right about, and it translates to us watching, that you go out there and you never go out there, especially right now, especially this version of Sheamus. You never go out there without leaving it all in the ring and we can all see that that's what you're doing. And I think that that means way more now than it did before because you have more to give and you still give it all. The fact that Shinsuke, like you just said, the King of Strong style, is the guy that you're wrestling in this first round, and the fact that it is that John Cena tournament. All of these matches in this tournament have that sort of John Cena aura about them.
27:30We all know what this is for. Do you think once you get there next week, you're going to be realizing, like, okay, this is even more than ever before. If every single time I go out there, I give 110%, tonight's 125%. Yeah, it's everything. Look, John is like, as I said, he's won more world championships than anyone else ever has. I have one goal left, and that's the Intercontinental Championship. I mean, because I've been so wrapped up in it and just so obsessed with it, saluted me. But that was my ultimate Grand Slam champion moniker that I really wanted. There's no way I'm at this stage. I am a realist.
28:08there's no way I ever feel like a match John Cena's, the man of John's world title that John Cena has reached. But it's been a long time since I've been there in there with Cena. And yeah, I, every day I'm proving myself. So again, I'll go out there and one, and I'll prove that I'll prove that I am the best. I'll prove that like nobody can touch me in that ring. I'll prove that if you want to go, you better keep up with me. And I'll get the same, same, same mentality. I'll go in to, to go to, go to Shane, throw everything at me fella I want you to try everything at me I don't want any easy passes in any rounds I want to earn every single round and I'm looking forward I'm looking forward I'm throwing us bleeding forearms and everything because I am ready I'm geared up and I want that match I want that match seeing his last match starting the nice main event I want it more than anything that's a new goal for me it's hard for me to have fresh things to go after right so you always want to have goals and yeah I have the mentality where I go out but this is a new goal it's fresh there's so many people there's a load of people like obviously wanting to make their name off having Cena's last match but to me they've got no skin in the game when it comes to skin in the game I put him through the table in 09 I took another WWE title off him again so this will be like two times the charm the hat trick for me by sending Cena off into the sunset that would be a nice that would be a nice one to hang up on right beside a photograph of that right beside all the collections of all the multiple championships titles that won here over the last 16 years.
29:37Sam Roberts:Seamus, you were sort of ever-present tonight on Raw. How many of you are going to talk, man? It's hard to get a word in with Sam. I mean, he just keeps yapping on and on. I was going to ask you about Shinsuke, and then Sam took my question. But you were ever-present tonight on Raw from the start of the show. CM Punk gets out there, the new world heavyweight champion, and he's talking about guys in the locker room he respects. He's talking about guys he wants to defend the title against, And he calls your name out and he said, Seamus, I would love to have a banger. Now, I know you're focused on this tournament and focused on this new goal of having John Cena's last match.
30:15Sam Roberts:But when you heard Punk call you out, what were you thinking? There's always a man who wants to have a banger. And he said it himself, he wants to have a banger. I've faced Punk a couple of times. I just could be wrong, but I think it's twice. I think we wrestled in the first ever main event. show that was on. Remember that? There was like, I think we went nearly a half an hour in the first one. I think we wrestled in the Lumberjack match as well when I was world champion and he was WWE champion. So I think we wrestled both when we were both world champion. WWE champion, world champion. You know, and obviously he went away and I've stayed the course and, you know, peaks and valleys, right?
30:54So I've kind of like endured it, come up, come back, and I've rode the storm the whole time. But no, like he's proven again like even like age doesn't matter. Age is nothing. 80s is just a number. He's out there. He's world champ. He's probably a year younger than me, I think. But I'd be well up for that. I would absolutely go well up for that. Look, what's the point? You don't just have one goal. You have many goals. I see champ seeing his last match and getting in there with big Phil aka CM Punk. I'm one out of the banger. You know what I mean? I'm good. I'm just excited. I'm not shying away from anything.
31:29I just want people to know that. I just want the people with fans and everyone to realize I just love the ride and the love that I've been getting from the W Universe has been incredible, there was a time, as you know Sam as well, obviously you do a lot of podcasts and you're very well in tune with the W Universe and you have been for a long time, well Baby Faye Seamus in 2012 there was very little love for Baby Faye Seamus in 2012 and I was fighting the tide the whole time But it's just so weird the way the whole thing changed. And it just, as long as the fans know that you care, you're there, that they matter, that you involve them in everything, and you give everything you possibly have, they'll give you the look back.
32:14And that's what I love about our fans because they just, they know, they know when everybody is breaking their bollocks, breaking their back for them to put on the best show possible. And I've tried to prove that time and time again. And no matter what, and here's the thing too, every time I go out there, I go out there to, there's a fly, but I see the drill through my eye. It's a mad place. I'm not going to ignore it, but then it's not there. But I think my mentality is this. Every time I go out there, I go out there with the intention of earning every fan's respect at the show. That's why it's free to know.
32:51Because I got to earn their respect every single week. Yeah, I mean, and you're right. Through the ups and downs, but I think you're that example of being undeniable and making it so that you can't ignore as a fan everything that you do in there. And I think that's why that support has grown and grown from your right, maybe a period of time where there wasn't a ton of support for what you were doing. Very little. Very little. Very little support. But tonight you go out there and somebody who I don't think is getting a ton of support.
33:26Sam Roberts:Oh, come on. This guy, Dominic Mysterio, he's just trying to have a celebration for himself, right? He's already got his deadbeat dad giving him a hard time. Now he goes out there because the Judgment Day is giving him a hard time. He tries to do right by his friends. He's not the one. I mean, he brought the shillelagh out, but that was Finn Balor who handed him the shillelagh. And then all of a sudden he turns around and he's got to deal with Sheamus. I mean, what was the deal with that? Why would you attack Dominic? Well, he's just in the way. That's all it was. It was all personal. He's just in the way.
33:57when he pulled me off the apron, then he made it a little bit personal. But he's just in the way, you know, like, you know, when you're on a bike or cycling down a cycle lane and somebody walks in front of the bike and you hit him, you know, it's just in the way. You've got to move it out of the way, you know. You know what I'm saying, Sam? I guess so. It just happens. Debris, you have debris on the road. What are you going to do? It just, you've got to clear it out to get straight to where you need to go, which was, for me, Finn Balor and J.D. McDonough for what they did last week. I will say this and this is like I will say this sorry sorry go ahead Meg oh I was just gonna say
34:30Sam Roberts:but as someone who is obsessed with the intercontinental championship you even said it earlier here have you at all found Dominic's reign a little bit disrespectful the way he's been using underhanded tactics in order to continue his title reign stop honestly I haven't really I haven't really talked about it too much I get where he's at just everything he can to win I understand that. He's not the biggest, he's not the most physical guy. He's definitely very, very athletic. And he's definitely got a grade. He's smart. You know, he knows exactly what he's doing. He's always a couple of steps ahead.
35:05But I haven't really thought about, like, ever since after the last Intercontinental title, the failure, I think there's been about 12 or 11 in a row now. I think it's a record. I kind of just started away because it's starting to consume me a little bit. But today was nothing about the Odyssey title. Today was just, he was in my way. And I had to move on. sorry no well you hadn't pulled me off the apron man you know i probably left well alone but it is a great example i've watched people get run over by bikes in that bike lane and it's like they didn't mean to hit you with the bicycle it's just that where why were you standing there that's
35:37Sam Roberts:the bike lane you enjoy watching that type of stuff well you're not supposed to be standing there you know that's supposed to exactly in the way you know you're coming through I will say one other thing just as well. I know this is probably not, it's not related to John Cena. It's not related to Icy Tyler Shenske, which we talked about, but you know, the last couple of years I've had a chance to grow something and build something that's been amazing, which is Celtic warrior workouts. Megan obviously was on the channel. Sam, you're welcome to come on anytime you want. It would be great. The beauty of it is there's no ego on me.
36:11It's all about doing the other person's workout and making them, a big deal and i've been very lucky and blessed to have a lot of like superstars on there and male and female um but the biggest thing for me is just seeing the amount of like responses from people who have just had their whole lives change which i use that slogan brave change seeing them like the comments of how they're like they didn't know they they wanted to get in shape they wanted to get fit and they just didn't know how and then they obviously started watching work out to Randy, Cena, Becky, Bailey, dear I say, Dominic Mysterio, Finn, JD, you know, they're even in there.
36:48So I don't discriminate against anybody. You know, obviously Jay Cargill, unbelievable. And of course, Lyra Valkyrie is standing right here. You want to come over and say hello, Lyra? Lyra's just waiting for me to say her name. Look at her.
37:03Sam Roberts:There she is. He was going to say my name anyway of course I was you guys recently got engaged didn't you congratulations 26 27 it's only a baby it's only a babble babble didn't it what do you say in Ireland babble is baby right so it's been great and lawyer of course the best of all because I nearly killed her when I did the handstand against the wall so basically every workout I do I look like a bleeding muppet and everyone else looks like a superstar but that's the beauty of it it's it's just to encourage people to work out show some good content, find some new stuff about the talent I'm working with, people I'm working with.
37:43And it just gives us a whole new life. People are very relaxed. And it's been incredible. It's one of my, you talk about titles, category workouts has been one of my biggest achievements. One thing I'm very, very proud of. Megan, of course, almost killed me running up that hill. But Sam, you're up next, mate, whether you like it or not, because I will find you. Oh my God. Okay. That's very, very intimidating. I'll find you and I will kill I'll work out with you I'll find you and I'll work out with you I can't wait to do it
38:15Sam Roberts:you might make history as the first time Sam Roberts has taken four I'll do it I'll do it I think Seamus is going to show you up at your own workout no what's your favorite workout people would not believe this but I do exercise at a strongman gym in New York. It's a real strong, yeah, it's a real small strongman gym. It's just no cardio, just lifting, lifting, lifting. And it, I mean, it's called New York Strong. I knew there was a reason you shaved your head. I knew it. Those big bodybuilders, you know what I mean? Those power lifters have like this certain heart. They got the beard. They got the shaved head to make them harder.
38:59That's why Sam shaved his head. That's right. That's what I was going to ask you about, Chris. Are you going to come? You're going to come? I'll come, yeah. We spend a little bit of time in Jersey City. My wife's from there. So we'll make our trip across to the city. So I'll come. We can shoot the workout there. No problem. Perfect. We'll do it. Megan can be there as well. She can kind of like, she can orchestrate the whole thing. I love it.
39:21Sam Roberts:There we go. You'll come? Yeah, I'll be there. That sounds fantastic. Well, Seamus, then, I can't wait. We'll have part two in a powerlifting gym. That'd be great. You did it? i deadlift yeah what's what's your deadlift i the my pr deadlift is 330 on a straight bar that's great what do you weigh i weigh 170 that's incredible you know everyone back in the day everyone used to go what's your bench what do you remember what's your bench yeah now yeah what's your deadlift deadlift that lives a lot of fun deadlift but that day i did 330 i mean i was destroyed for like three days after that. I was feeling it, but it was great.
40:03I still did it. I still did it. Seamus, you are the best. Appreciate you making the time. Congratulations on getting in the tournament. Congratulations on everything. And I can't wait to talk again soon. Thank you, Seamus. See you both day. It's going to be a banger. After a banger. After a banger.

42:15Sam Roberts:Are you ready? I don't know. I didn't know Shane was going to ask me all those questions and get like real answers. How long has it been since you deadlifted that amount? Since I deadlifted 330 pounds. It's been a long time since I deadlifted that amount. You got to start training for the workout. I know. I've got to tell my trainer. I told you texted him already. I told the wrong person the last time. You're like, yeah, yeah. I'll come on. No problem. I know. The last time I told somebody publicly what I do to, you know, have some form of fitness in my life it was mark henry and that one hurt too listen that's the only reason i got to 330 by the way was because there was an olympic strongman power lifter i don't know you might be in trouble too because i've been listening to not sam and you've been promoting some nicotine so i don't know that's gonna impact your training or get your energy up sometimes you need that extra jolt that's right but listen i also didn't know that all the european superstars hang out in the same locker room everybody with an accent hey that's why lyra just popped in there they have like ireland locker that's right yeah and then i'm sure like all the grandes they have their own locker i would imagine so i would imagine so it's very uh it's very accent heavy look i want to talk about this tournament because i will i will tell you this my bracket's already busted i can't believe it you know i love tournaments and i sat at home this is what i do i said that's what i do i sit at home all weekend creating my own 16 man tournament based only on the information given to me on the promo that ran on saturday night's main event there was a lot of information in that and i used all of it all of it and i had a whole 16 man you know stars from raw smackdown nxt and even some faces who don't even work here yeah yeah all of it was part of it i was texting you saturday night with a lot of faces that don't even work here that's right said calm down i did i said you gotta relax get off the dirts relax a little bit that's what i said but uh yeah i mean uh my bracket's not totally busted three out of the four people were in my brackets those matchups were not in my brackets but when they said random i didn't realize they were bringing out the royal rumble tumbler i know i kind of i wasn't sure if we were going to get the matches before before monday like i didn't think i didn't know there'd be an announcement today and what the matches were.
44:38Sam Roberts:I didn't know if Monday the tournament was just going to start and we have entrance music and then a reaction. Well, yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, it's a good call. I had no idea either. We have two matches that were announced tonight. Rusev versus Damian priest and Shinsuke Nakamura versus Sheamus. These are heavy hitters. Yeah. The fact that we're starting in the first round of 16 and we're going to either eliminate Rusev or Priest and either eliminate Shinsuke or Sheamus. Let you know how stiff the competition is. But also, speaking of stiff, those two matches are going to be stupid hard-hitting matches.
45:22Sam Roberts:Yeah. I mean, Priest and Rusev? I don't know if... And then my chest already hurts thinking about the Sheamus. I mean, yeah. But you also realize that, look, Look, everybody involved here is like the final match with John Cena is one of the biggest matches you could possibly get in WWE. I mean, this is it. And they are making the biggest deal possible out of it. Rusev has attempted the Intercontinental Championship a couple of times, not successfully. What's he going to do to stand out? And then Damian Priest, on the other hand, this is a former world heavyweight champion. But he hasn't been able to get past Aleister Black and he's getting fireballs thrown in his face.
46:04What's he going to do to break out of that? You know what I mean? The same way Seamus was just talking about it. You know what I mean? Going out there and giving it his all. Shinsuke Nakamura is a different Shinsuke than we've seen. He's back to the OG music. He's back to being a fan favorite. But has he lost that edge? Like there's so much in just those first two matches to determine. we're gonna get another two matches announced from nick aldis on smackdown is what we found out so we'll get four of the first eight matches announced now do you think they're gonna bring the tumbler
46:39Sam Roberts:out for that one as well or is this adam pierce's style of picking no because no you can't have if it's a wouldn't be fair it wouldn't be fair you have to have the tumbler throughout because if you're going to have superstars from all the different brands involved then there needs to be an equal way of doing it across the board, which means Tumblr. Now the people who don't work here, are those going to be surprise mystery opponents? Yeah, but they're probably still got to be in the Tumblr, right? I don't know. I don't know either. I have no idea. I mean, I've got names in my head for who I want to be.
47:16Sam Roberts:I think you need to go home. Right. And you need to set up your own Tumblr. I'm sure you have one. I have a Tumblr. And just redo your bracket. Right. Right. I mean, how do you think I did the Royal Rumble with my action figures? Put them in a Tumblr. Tumblr. You had to figure out what number they were. You know, we have to have some integrity in this thing. Yeah, no, no, no. So I will use my Tumblr. I think maybe that is the only way to do it. I don't know, but it's going to get really interesting, especially with the fact that you're going to have NXT people in this. You're going to have people who knows where they're going to be from.
47:47But ultimately, man, next week on Raw, not only are we starting this tournament, but John Cena is going to be there in Boston. And I think that this is where the reality sets in, that we are on the road to John Cena's last match. John Cena has just over one month left in WWE as an active competitor. Four appearances, and that's it. Two Raws, Survivor Series, and Saturday Night's Main Event. And that's it. I think this tournament is going to feel really big once it starts. It should. And I think that last match is going to be a massive last match. And there are so many different directions. So it's so difficult to figure out.
48:27Sam Roberts:Well, Cena said in that video that played at Saturday Night's Main Event that also re-aired tonight on Raw, that he's hoping to give someone the same opportunity that he got his first night. Well, yeah, but he didn't fight John Cena in John Cena's last match in his first night. No. We didn't even fight Kurt Angle. He had a face-to-face with Kurt Angle. It's a bigger opportunity, you know, than John Cena had in his first night. It's as big an opportunity as I think you can give. It's a big enough opportunity that just like we were saying, amongst those four, the opportunity will mean different people, different things to different people, right?
49:05Because -
49:05Sam Roberts:We heard what it means to Sheamus tonight. That's what I'm saying. Because there is one school of thought where you're right. He did say, I want to give the same opportunity to the people that I got on my first night. So then that makes a lot of people think, oh, does it have to be somebody - Like a new guy in NXT. like a new yeah a Javon Evans for example but then listening to Seamus talk like I'm completely sold that's how big this opportunity is needs to be Seamus there is I mean listen one of the biggest moments in Rusev's entire career was rolling up to Wrestlemania 31 in a tank when he was on Raw recap did it or did it not come up it came up he rolled into Wrestlemania in a tank who did he fight at Wrestlemania in a tank well he didn't fight him in the tank but he drove there in a tank it was John Cena you know what I mean like letting people know not only have I not missed a step but I'm better than I've ever been and I'm gonna beat John Cena this time Damian Priest I mean talk about the the archer of infamy this is a guy that would live forever if he beats John Cena Shinsuke Nakamura this is another guy king of strong style is he still that guy you know what Like, it's a different opportunity for everybody.
50:18But I don't think there's anybody on the roster or off the roster that wouldn't see this as a massive opportunity.
50:28Sam Roberts:Yeah, I mean, we heard Seamus say that he feels like he's just getting started. And he's accomplished everything in the eyes of most fans. Everything. but he knows that even with everything he's done, even as storied as his career has been, there's nothing bigger. There's nothing bigger than being able to have John Cena's last match and make it a classic, you know? So I can't wait to see where it goes. By the way, speaking of Saturday Night's main event, I want to tell you that a new world heavyweight champion was crowned. We were talking about him just a moment ago. His name is CM Punk. And you can celebrate his victory with his new winner's tee, which is available now at WWE shop and fanatics.
51:14You don't want to miss out. You want to grab yours before they're gone. This is a moment in history. He finally did it. He finally got the world heavyweight title and that t-shirt is up now. Of course, also on WWE shop and fanatics, the new wear by Aaron Andrews, WWE t-shirts and hoodies. You do. I do. I've seen you rocking it.
51:33Sam Roberts:Yeah. the SummerSlam jacket. Uh-huh. Great. And people have complimented you. I've seen them in the comments. Tons. Yeah, they love it. They love it. T-shirts, hoodies, they're all out now featuring AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley. These T-shirts and hoodies, they look great. They feel great. They let you rep your favorite superstars in style. You can grab yours at WWE shop and fanatics. Is that true? Look good. Feel great. Absolutely. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. let's talk about the night that Dominic Mysterio had it was a lot of ups and downs you've been bringing it up throughout the show it was a big raw for him it was coming off a big title defense successful one too did you notice that?
52:18every criticism you've ever had of Dominic Mysterio has been proven wrong did you ever think about that? you go home and you think about that like man, isn't that weird? every criticism I've ever had I guess he's perfect
52:29Sam Roberts:I think he's far from perfect but he is double champ Dom. That's another one he's going to have to prove you wrong again because it's the ninth title defense I think they said and they keep being successful. They're amazing. Dominic Mysterio shows up and all he wants to do is celebrate. You know what I mean? All he wants to do is just say like, hey, and by the way, you can't even deny it anymore. And not that you would because you're a woman of integrity. But the people of New Mexico wanted to celebrate with Dom and people could say whatever they want. Joe Tess can make all kinds of snide comments about Dominic Mysterio while he's doing the pentastrut, because I think that is true.
53:06But he was making snide comments. Sheamus can say whatever he wants. The people of New Mexico.
53:12Sam Roberts:Sheamus said he was smart. He did. He did say he was smart. I did like your question. He also said that Dom got in his way. Right, which is a little condescending. Yeah. It's a little condescending. But the people of New Mexico wanted to celebrate with him. They were cheering him loudly. Very different. Dirty, dirty, dirty. They were singing again. And I told you every city. Oh, just this city. It's just that. It's just Utah. It's just New Mexico. It really is so wild. Like you think of Dominic Mysterio. And when he first started as with a tag, as a tag team with his father, Ray Mysterio. I was about to say, you know, it was Ray that he did it.
53:50Sam Roberts:Yes. What's that? It wasn't with Eddie. Oh, come on. with his deadbeat dad ray mysterio he's in a tag team and then he he he becomes dirty dom where you can't even speak on a microphone because the entire arena is booing him so loud that was a rough period to now it's the opposite yes he can't speak because they're cheering him wild well it's fitting though and it makes sense it all makes perfect sense okay but he comes out and who is this guy You know, it's like, you know when like a stage dad comes out, like, you know, you pretend like you're putting your son on the path to success. But the minute that son starts to get more success than you, you start to kind of glom off of it a little bit.
54:42Sam Roberts:Yeah, you know, I've learned about this before. Parents who are actually jealous of their children. Showbiz parents. That happens. It does. Dance moms. Not healthy. And I saw it on Monday. I saw it tonight. Parents who live vicariously through their child. Parents who were never the AAA mega champion. Yeah. Ray comes out and ruins Dom's moment, which was not a great thing for a dad to do. Wade Barrett called him the worst father in the history of our species. Which is a lot. But I mean, look, I think, you know, I had a pretty good dad, so maybe Wade's right. Every basis that I have for comparison.
55:22But I mean, just the worst father in the history of our species.
55:24Sam Roberts:is a huge species has been around for a long time yeah longer than i can remember it's a huge statement to make so dom's just trying to celebrate and ray comes out and dom's trying to announce himself as the king of the luchadors and it's really wild because we haven't seen ray mysterio in such a long time and in the time that he's been away he grew a mustache that looks exactly like Dom's. Why do you think I grew a mustache? I want to look more like Dom. No, because you're in the gym. That's why. You shaved the head. That's true. That's true. Because you're a meathead now. That's true. I am. I am.
56:02I'm a goon. Yeah, Dom, you're right. Dom pointed that out. You know? Dom pointed that out. By the way, when Ray said, you're not Eddie Guerrero, and Dom said, don't speak about my father that way. Come on. Who's better than Dominic Mysterio? is the best. But I mean, you know, I'm very curious to where this is all going to go because Ray comes out for whatever reason, he can't let Dom have his moment. And Ray was on here with us. He told us that if Dom won that mega championship, he would respect him. I don't know how many matches Dom has to win because he's also defended the mega championship and been successful.
56:45How many times does this guy have to successfully defend titles for Ray to be like,
56:49Sam Roberts:okay you're the man it's not right what's going on jealousy is not good no no and look at what color the mask is look at the trim what color is that it's black and green green with envy that's really a shame that's really a shame so he does end up 619 dominating mysterio which again that's not what dom wanted right and so dom has to deal with this with his deadbeat dad and then he goes backstage he's like what is going on ray saying as long as he's here dom will never be the greatest mysterio of all time like give it up you know what i mean it's okay second second best mysterio of all time is still very good there's a lot of mysterios and they're all impressive in their own right they're great but i think you know then dominic goes backstage finds the the the judgment day they're not showing him any love he goes you know what let me be part of the solution not part of the problem.
57:48Listen to the advice of Roxanne, who, by the way, great victory over Nikki Bella in the tag match.
57:55Sam Roberts:Roxanne Perez now has pinned EO Sky and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. Pinned Nikki Bella twice. That's right. Massive, massive. So he goes out there with the shillelagh, and what does he get for his troubles? Sheamus kicks him. Sheamus beats him down too. So he's got on one end his friends not giving him the time of day, and on the other end, just every WWE legend trying to kick his head off. And then his dad's jealous of him. And his dad's jealous of him. It's a real... Good thing he has two titles. Yeah. He's got titles to go around. You know? But I just don't like... I don't like what I'm seeing there with the Mysterio family.
58:36Sam Roberts:Do you believe that Dom has surpassed Rey in every way, shape, and form? Yeah. Because think about it. He's got two titles and he's taller. that's all it really takes why what other forms are there respect i guess neck tattoo respect from your peers they sing for him dirty dirty dom those are that's the audience not all peers his peers aren't i thought that was like your peers backstage colleagues people you work with michael cole said he was smart at saturday night's main event say that that was a big step also kind of admit that that he was crafty and smart he's just got to win over joe tess yeah it's tough though yeah that joe tess i mean he's a tough cookie he's a tough cookie but he'll get there he'll get there look speaking of getting there i hope you all get to new york city you know what's happening in new york city is it fanatics fest fanatics fest is back i can't wait wwe and sports fans the world's number one sports fan festival fanatics fest is making its big return to New York City.
59:37Yes. Hopefully, Rey Mysterio will be there. Dominic Mysterio will be there. Who knows? Fanatics is bringing you closer to the leagues, teams, superstars, and athletes you love across four action-packed days in July. You know, at the first Fanatics Fest, there was a big Not Sam wrestling show where I did get to have a sit-down interview with Rey Mysterio where he took his whole career and even Dominic and everything. It was a wonderful experience to be a part of, but that's just part of what you can get at Fanatics Fest. You can meet, though, your favorite WWE superstars. You can get your hands on exclusive merch.
1:00:07You can catch, what did I just say? Live podcasts and interact with the biggest names in all of sports. Tickets go on sale November 13th, which is only 10 days from the time we're recording this, way less from the time you're watching it. Mark your calendars. Don't miss out. Full information is at fanaticsfest.com. I mean, I've been two years in a row. I got to be there for the third one.
1:00:32Sam Roberts:I got to be there. I know you do. It was a blast. I know. They're the best. They're the best. well I tell you what we had a lot of big moments at Saturday night's main event and I think one of the biggest was not just CM Punk winning the world heavyweight championship but Jade Cargill winning the WWE championship from Tiffany Stratton and Tops Now you know I love my Tops Now you know what I just got I got my Tops Now card in the mail today of Stephanie Vaquer and Seth Rollins holding up their, you know, crown jewel championships. Yes. Well, I'm going to have to order right now because they've released two cards from Saturday night's main event, Jade dethroning Tiffany Stratton and CM Punk reclaiming the world heavyweight title.
1:01:18Lucky collectors who purchased the base versions of these cards have a chance at receiving parallels and even autographed versions of the cards. You can go now, go to Topps now, follow Topps, see everything that they're doing because they have, I mean, all these big moments are on these cards. And when you put them together and you look at everything that's happened just this year and you start flipping through these cards, you realize how cool it all is.
1:01:44Sam Roberts:It's also a crazy time. Crazy time. It's a crazy time. And I'll tell you, you had a couple of big women's matches on the show. Of course, a couple big women's tag matches. Well, you know, I listen to you on all platforms. Hell yeah. All week long. That rules. And there's been something that's really been kind of bothering me, if I'm being honest, throughout the week. My co-host on Raw Recant. No, she's been just fine. Okay, all right. But listen, Natty Neidhart came out with a fabulous book. I started reading it. It's amazing. It's really great. Honestly, it's very good. The last heart beating.
1:02:32Sam Roberts:That's right. Yes. You had Natty on. A great conversation. Only scratched the surface. I can't wait until you get her on in your basement. Oh, yeah. Go deeper into the book because there's really a lot to unpack in this book. It's fantastic, truly. Tons. But I couldn't help but notice that you and your very large wrestling platform. Gotcha. never once had the greatest female wrestler of all time on to promote her book. And then it got me to really think, you might be one of these people in WWE who is also conspiring against Becky Lynch. Oh, no, no, no, no. First, we have the crooked referee that Becky called out tonight.
1:03:12Sam Roberts:Who? The crooked referee. Danilo? Who's conspiring against her. No, Danilo's cheap. Not crooked. Cheap. Oh, and then we have Adam Pierce sending Becky Lynch home and giving Maxine Dupree time. And then Sam Roberts not promoting her book. I mean, I would promote her book. First of all, I didn't even have my, well, I had my basement, I guess. But it wasn't, I mean, Becky's a tough guest to get. Tough guest to get. Did you even try? Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Sure you did. Couldn't get it done. Mm-hmm. Couldn't get it done. Listen. You're conspiring against her. That's all. I'm not conspiring against anybody.
1:03:53You should get her a book. And if she wants to talk about her book now, I would love to talk to Becky Lynch. I mean, she's a little flying a little off the handle tonight.
1:04:04Sam Roberts:Is there anything wrong with the way she acted tonight? Well, for one thing, she just showed up and stood up on top of the table. For another thing, she started shouting again about Jessica Carr, about the referee, that she's still mad about. I guess the cadence. The cadence is what she's upset about? The cadence. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then she started talking about how Maxine is not cool. You know? Yeah. She said that like, and I was like, what is she talking about? No, she's not cool because Becky's been a lifelong student of the game. Right. And she doesn't go on bragging about, you know, these victories.
1:04:47I mean I think she brags about being on the list of greatest women wrestlers of all time
1:04:52Sam Roberts:yeah but Maxine Dupree is bragging about a victory that came because of a crooked referee I see what you're saying I said what about the other one the other one there were two victories well yeah Becky had a I mean she was dealing with a crooked referee and Maxine Dupree in her hometown in order to what do you think should happen to the referee fines suspension plural Yes. Multiple fines and multiple suspensions. Wow. I didn't realize that. She did say that when Maxine is back and ready for this, it won't just be the biggest opportunity of Maxine's career. It'll be the last one. She's furious.
1:05:27She is furious at this Maxine Dupree. I can't believe that Maxine Dupree has gotten under Becky Lynch's skin like this. It's amazing. And I don't think it's the referee. I think it's Maxine Dupree. I don't think Becky Lynch took Maxine Dupree seriously.
1:05:39Sam Roberts:No, I don't think she did either. And I think that now we're left with this Becky Lynch that has realized that she may be in more trouble than she thought. Because now Maxine has, you know what she's got on her side? Momentum. And that's tough. That's tough to beat. I wouldn't want to mess with a Becky Lynch who says, welcome to the big time. And then we hear that of the mic. You love when a mic falls down. What does it sound like? Slams the mic. Yeah, that's actually a really good impression. It's actually a very good impression. Yeah, that's perfect. No, I like yours better. That was better.
1:06:11What does it sound like?
1:06:11Sam Roberts:I'm not going to do it again. Okay, all right. I wanted to see if you could do it. I also loved the confrontation after the promo. I love, two things I love in wrestling. I love a tournament. I love an entryway confrontation. I love when somebody's leaving and the other person's coming and they're not necessarily in the midst of a rivalry right now, but it starts planting the seeds for what may be coming next. Yeah, and it was interesting because an Oscar's promo earlier in the night. She had said something about how, I'd have to go back and look at the exact verbiage, but it was something along the lines about how she is one of the greatest.
1:06:50Yeah, and she is. She is. And she is.
1:06:53Sam Roberts:But I imagine. Becky, as somebody who believes that they are the greatest. That's right. Would have an issue with that. I imagine. I love the idea. I love it. I love the confrontation. I think that Becky may be in trouble if that comes up because I don't think she can find a tag team partner. She's not the best with, like, friends right now. Unfortunately, maybe you could do it. It would be an honor. For any woman in that locker room, it would be an honor. Oh, I thought you meant for you to be asked to do it. Oh, I mean, come on. I mean, it'd be an honor for you, but you wouldn't last long. Asuka and Kyrie, I think that's the last thing in the world.
1:07:26Sam Roberts:They would be jumping for joy that it would be me. They would be, because you'd be like, this is so cool. We're wrestling who? This is terrible. It would also ruin my potential friendship with Becky Long. Oh, she'd hate you. Yeah, that's it. She'd hate you. You blew it. So I could never do it. You blew it. I'll just stay right here behind a microphone where I belong. I cannot wait to see what happens next week on Monday Night Raw. Not only do we have a women's championship match, Raquel Rodriguez is getting the spot, but we've got the first two, John Cena. The last time is now tournament matches.
