WWE Now - LA Knight says he’s ready for Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweight Title | Raw Recap

20:56Sam Roberts:Yeah, it did. It really did. You think that comes with the spot? You know, the boys in the back? Like, I want to be in that spot with that watch. If you buy the watch, you get the spot. I think so. No, but I think that you're 100 % right. I think it makes it, everybody has their own spot. It just becomes like, how do you make yours the most valuable? And I think that that's what we're going to see playing out. And I think that that's what somebody like LA Knight is trying to get across. That to LA Knight's credit, he's saying like, sure, you don't become number one contender by bitching and moaning.

21:30But guys like you and guys like Seth have used the numbers games and figured out ways to block guys like me out. And I think that there is merit to that. Where there are certain people, and I don't know who they are because I'm not around. I just watch the product on the TV. but you are going to find people that as they get to a certain level, they pull the rope ladder up. Some people leave the ladder for anybody to climb. Other people pull the rope ladder up with them. And I think there are people in positions like the one that LA Knight is in going every time I reach that, that, that first rung, somebody yanks it right back up again.

22:08And that's Seth and that's Roman. And so I'm done with that. And now I'm here to get at you Roman Reigns. Okay. And he said, too, he said, you know, your aura is a lot less cool when I'm in the ring with you, which is a massive statement. Do you think there's any truth to it?

22:27Sam Roberts:I mean, the crowd does respond to L.A. Night. Yeah. I didn't mean to do that. Wow. I did it. Well, I do think there is a sliver of truth there. I do. I do. Yeah, I think there's, for lack of a better term, I don't want to say cult of personality because obviously that's so associated with CM Punk. But there is this sort of populist fervor behind LA Night that makes it so even if, you know, you put your X's and O's together in a way where it explains what's going on. You talk about the intangible in professional wrestling. That's LA Night. That's LA Night. It just is. That's absolutely LA night.

23:13You know, I want to get back to Raw because the saga of the bloodline tonight didn't stop there. But before we get to it, we have to talk about the main event happening in your own home. You know, look, life is basically, well, it's basically SummerSlam every single day. You know, it's a high stakes gauntlet where the responsibilities just keep coming. It feels like you're constantly making tradeoffs between the things you have to do and the things you actually love. That's why we're celebrating those moments where you refuse to tap out. 23:51For example, gosh, did I want to do this show today. Gosh, did I want to make sure that I made it home. But man, and I swear, I flew out a week ago to San Diego, one of the worst travel days of my life. It took me two days. to get there. Terrible. And now I'm very triggered by that. And I started having that again in Minneapolis. The rain was coming down in New York. They warned me the day before, oh, your afternoon flight, that might not work. I go, you know what? I'll change it to the morning flight. I'll change the morning flight to make sure that I get home in time. They go, oh, we're gonna cancel your morning flight.

24:29Hey, you're not giving me any other options. I have to look around, I have to look around, I have to go, I can't, and I could have just said, you know what? I'll stay an extra day in Minneapolis. Megan's got this, but I said, no. it's been days since I've seen Megan Moran since I've gotten to talk to her about this grand world of professional wrestling I gotta get on I gotta let the people know how we both are gonna recap Raw on the Raw recap so I found another airport in the area and I booked and I found a ticket that didn't even have a seat number attached to it but I said I'll take it and I'll go to that desk and I'll get on that plane and by the way that plane was delayed too by almost 60 minutes.

25:09But gosh darn it, I got on anyway. And that plane landed and I might have been stressed and I might have been exhausted. But what did I do? I got off that plane. I got in the car. I took it up north here to the Stanford Not Sam Studios. And I sat down in this chair to recap raw. I didn't tap out. I made it, Megan.

25:30Sam Roberts:And you did that all for me. All for you. What an honor. That might be your best one yet. Thank you. Thank you very, very much. Well, unfortunately, I was actually not able to attend SummerSlam. I had a family wedding, an important one. That's a nice reason. Yeah, it was really important that I was there for my family. And so, you know, I have the baby, my little daughter, and she was in the wedding, which is great. She was married? She's not married, but she was in the wedding, like a little flower girl situation. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, not ready to get married just yet. Good, good. Not going to change that Morant name.

26:04No, no, no.

26:05Sam Roberts:No, baby Morant was not ready to get married, but made her way down the aisle, flowers and all. And while it is very adorable, it's a lot of work being the mom at the wedding of the baby, because weddings really aren't a place for babies to be. So I was, you know, doing the mom thing, the whole wedding. And while it was great and a lot of fun, and there were some fun pictures captured and memories captured, it was a difficult time for me. You know, balancing the baby in one hand, walking out of the room, walking into the room. But, you know, this is what you have to do to be the rock star mom.

26:45Sam Roberts:And I'm happy to report while momming and wedding-ing, I was still able to catch the bouquet with one hand. Baby in one hand, bouquet in the other. Got the job done. I did not tap out. I brought the juice. You caught the bouquet? I did, yeah. You're married. Why would you catch the bouquet? Well, winners got to win, Sam. Come on. Got to compete when you're out there. You caught the bouquet with one hand. Baby in the other. I don't think this is true. Minute Maid and WWE are tag teaming. With one hand, you just reached up and got it out of the sky. It's like a low catch. Yeah. I mean, they are lanky arms, but I don't think.

You know, people talk about how this version, or they kind of ask, how is this version of the bloodline different? And I think that Roman really spelled it out. if you listen to the words that are said in these in these segments a lot is is kind of spelled out

30:53Sam Roberts:and defined for you i think he literally told them we were going to do this differently yes he said you all want to be equals and he sounds like this is very different than you know 2021 to 2024 they were not equals then no and they were never intended to be they were never supposed to be but he said you all want to be equals and he's speaking as if he's open to the idea of them being equals but he points right out that they can't be equals if they are losing yeah he says it doesn't work when we lose doesn't work when we lose your family he said that uh i mean the usos stepped forward and said we'll take care of la night and roman said enough i've heard first of all well there was also some solo hate thrown in there he was talking about like how did you lose to your little brother Solo.

31:42Sam Roberts:And then Roman's like, by the way, where is Solo? Solo should be right here right now. Solo, where is my coffee? Go get it. He said Solo should be on his hip. Like. Getting him his coffee. Which I don't think that Solo would be great to be a coffee guy. Because if we listen to Roman Reigns, he couldn't get a cup of coffee into the arena. Pew, pew, pew, pew. I mean, look, we had a great interview with Solo Sokoa on the night one SummerSlam recap, which I would absolutely recommend to everybody. If you haven't heard it or watched it yet, go back to that SummerSlam night one recap. It was awesome.

32:17A rare sit down interview with Solo Sokoa. But yes, yes. I think, well, I think Roman's irritated that he can't keep his family in line because Solo is a bit of a loose cannon. Solo's enjoying being the black sheep of the family.

32:32Sam Roberts:Solo's a big problem for this bloodline right now. Yeah, because he brings the whole thing into question. You know, and Roman has said if they can't respect us getting the family together, then this isn't going to work. And that was part of the conversation to have with Jacob originally. But now Solo is absolutely a part of that. So, yeah, he does bring up Solo. And I think that that's going to continue to be a problem for them. Because Solo's Dolo. We know that, don't we? Of course. We've always known that. Yes. But now the world knows. They know it. They know it. But then he points out to Jacob Fatu, I hear you saying Royce Keys is your family.

33:15Is Royce Keys your family? Is he your blood? Royce Keys is not my family. He looks at the Usos. He goes, Royce Keys, is he your family? Is he your cousin? Is he your brother? No, Roman. No, he's not our family. And Roman puts it down. Roman said, don't let these circus folk confuse you. we are all we have. We are blood. Don't trust anybody. And you know, this is part of what I talked to Solo about at SummerSlam, about the story of the bloodline and the deeper meaning behind the bloodline. And the deeper meaning behind the bloodline is this real life family that goes back to, well, I guess technically you would say it goes back to High Chief Peter Maivia, but certainly back to Offenseeca the Wild Samoans.

34:03It goes back to WWE being the Northeast territory in American professional wrestling. This family has been a key part of it and grown with the WWE from the Wild Samoans to the Head Shrinkers to Yokozuna being a WWE champion to Umaga coming in to Rikishi branching off of the Head Shrinkers to, I mean, everybody. that has come through. And Roman has said on multiple times that a part of this whole thing is the fact that this family has given and given and given to this thing. And that there has never been a family like the bloodline. Except in my opinion, before they declared themselves the bloodline, we talked about the hearts and we talked about the Von Ericks and we talked about a lot of families, but we didn't talk about this Samoan dynasty as the family the way we do now.

35:05And I think when Roman says, not to let these circus folk confuse you, he's sitting here saying, like, don't get worked by wrestling. We're the bloodline. We need to control this. They need us more than we need them. And we need to come in here for our family. And like Solo's music says, take it all.

35:29Sam Roberts:And that is another distinct difference in this version of Roman before, because this is the first time the bloodline has been all blood. Yes. All blood. Yes. Yes. And then he says to leave L.A. Night to me. He tells the Usos, don't touch him. And L.A. Night heard him say that because then L.A. Night walks by and he starts taunting. You wouldn't want to get daddy upset, would you? And he starts taunting J. Uso. Crash out Jey Uso Because LA Knight knows exactly Which buttons to press And they're Jays Because he's the hothead He's the hothead His buttons are the biggest ones Yes And they push easy Yeah Yeah And Jey was looking to go He was fuming And LA's like I'm gonna get out of here Yeah I'll see you guys next week I'll talk to you later I mean LA Knight Look There's a chess piece on his back And it is It's the Knight Obviously But he is a chess player This LA Knight And look Here's the thing When you have somebody like LA Knight, and this was part of the conversation that we had with him at Fanatics Fest, which again, you should go back and take a look at on YouTube.

36:37He talked about the fact that he's never had a support system. No. That he's never been anyone's guy, and he's never been earmarked for this outrageous success. And when you have somebody like that, you have somebody that has spent years and years and years and years learning the game, the game of professional wrestling. and how to ascend and why people do the things they do and what you should avoid and what you shouldn't avoid. I think that LA Knight probably has a higher IQ when it comes to surviving and prospering in the world of professional wrestling than most because of everything that he's been through.

37:15And I think you're seeing that demonstrated that Roman has gone from, why would I give you a title shot? You don't deserve it to Usos, don't touch him.

37:26Sam Roberts:I have to handle him. He's all mine. That's all orchestrated by L.A. Knight. So then Royce Keys comes to Jacob and says, you know, come on, man, we're family. We're family. Like, we came up together. And look, Jacob Fatu. Ten toes down. We're family, man. Yes. And Jacob Fatu comes from a different world than Roman or the Usos or Solo or a lot of the people in the bloodline in the sense that, like, Jacob spent years on the independence making towns with guys like Royce Keys. And family bonds do form with people who have those same dreams. Especially on the road like that. I mean, we've heard stories time and time again.

38:07Sam Roberts:It's not just what you learn in the ring. It's the car ride after and making towns, being on the Indies. And the fact that, yeah, these are guys going out there in the beginning for a hot dog and a handshake, and the only people that can relate to that is the people that are also doing it. But all that said, Jacob, I mean, coming ever since that tribal combat match, Jacob is buying what Roman is selling. Yeah, I mean, he has to. He takes orders from his tribal chief. And I love the way Jacob said it. Jacob looked at Royce Keys and says, we're not family. You're just one of the boys. I'm bloodline.

38:46Sam Roberts:Again, the boys coming up. But see, I love that, though, because some people will try to be like, no, no, I'm still one of the boys. I'm still one of the boys. Jacob, in that moment, separates, delineates, goes, yeah, there's the boys, all the boys. Those are the circus folk. That's who Roman pointed out earlier. We're the bloodline. We do something completely different. And the only people that can relate to it are us. and I'm assuming anybody that Jacob himself has declared honorary ooze is probably also included in what Jacob was saying. If Jacob himself said it, I feel like, you know - I feel like he would have to check in with Roman just to make sure.

39:29I mean, Roman's my guy too, so I'm okay with that. I think Roman would be cool with it.

39:33Sam Roberts:Yeah, we should probably just have Jacob check. Unless you want to check with him. You want to check? No, I'll let Jacob check. Yeah, I think Jacob - I'll let Jacob check. And Jacob says, I'm not waiting. And they get right to it. He says, tonight we are going to have a street fight. I'm going to dog walk your ass. I'm going to dog walk your ass. Except he said it a little quieter. I'm going to dog walk your ass. Dog walk your ass. You're not my family. That's right. That's right. I think it's a scarier thing when you quietly. Of course. You know he's going to dog. Yes. because he could always scream it and then you because when he screams it you could just hope that like well maybe once he kind of cools out i won't get dog walked my ass won't get dog walked but if he's saying it quietly it's more threatening yeah much more threatening yeah and he believes it um so then we get to the street fight uh and uh i mean it is a hell of a street fight the ring full of chairs, tables, everything.

40:33I mean, kendo sticks, the markings on the back of Jacob after that match. There was like an X carved into his back.

40:42Sam Roberts:What a crazy thing. 24 hours removed from SummerSlam and we get Jacob Fatu and Royce Keys in a street fight in the main event of Monday Night Raw. That's insane. Insane, because we're just moving forward, moving forward, moving forward. And after a Samoan drop through a table, after a moonsault, and after that Tongan death grip, they call it Jacob wins against Royce Keys, but first he won't let go of the Tongan death grip. Then when he finally does, he goes in and he locks the death grip in again and he says, this is family business. This is family business. Don't interfere with it. And Royce Keys, I mean, blood is just coming out of his mouth.

41:22Blushing. This Royce Keys. And then he lets it go and then he wraps a chair around Royce Keys. Look at him as he's shot and this is family business. And Royce Keys, and that's really when you realize like you're dealing with a different Jacob Fatou. You thought you knew that guy. Royce Keys thought that he knew that guy. But he doesn't know that guy. He doesn't know the guy.

41:49Sam Roberts:Because he's not the same guy. He might have known the guy who confronted Roman Reigns after WrestleMania, but he doesn't know the guy who went through tribal combat. He doesn't know the guy who has finally understood what this family is and why this family is doing what they're doing. He doesn't know the enforcer of this current bloodline. No. And the fact that Roman says, you have to go do this. And Jacob says, well, then I have to go do this. And he wraps that steel chair around the head of the guy that he knows better than anybody. The guy that he traveled those roads that you were talking about with.

42:26Royce Keys who at one point he said was his brother wraps that chair around his head and hits that hip attack on him and I mean just absolutely annihilates Royce Keys

42:38Sam Roberts:and keeps going back for more keeps going back for more to send a message and not just to send a message to Royce Keys to send a message to everybody I mean this goes back all those boys in the back right this goes back to the idea of consequences when it comes to the bloodline. These are the penalties that we have for you. And Roman comes out, you hear that music playing and Roman comes out, he's been at Raw all night. It's a rare thing. But it felt like after watching the Usos and Jacob lose and after knowing that he beat Seth Rollins and was the better man on that night, that Roman came to Raw tonight to spend the evening making sure things were positioned the way they needed to be positioned.

43:25And Roman coming out and his music playing and putting that one up in the air. And Jacob Fatou turning around looking right at him and putting that one up in the air. There was no hesitation. There was no wondering. This is Jacob going, I understand the play. I trust you. You are my tribal chief. And Jacob puts that one up and it really is this sight of like, Like, it felt to me like Roman's warnings, Roman's lessons, Roman saying you can't do this if you're not winning, got through to Jacob immediately.

44:01Sam Roberts:Yeah, and Jacob raising the one to me says, this is the only family that matters. I am only family within the bloodline. We have one more beat to hit with this bloodline. And Roman in classic Roman fashion. I do now. Right? Like, yeah, no idea. Okay. Rey, I believe you. Which isn't that great. Hey, you know I'm the GM of AAA? If you're telling me that, I believe you. Congrats. Yeah, that's awesome. He says, I'd like to run something by you. I'd like to discuss something with you. And after everything, after L.A. Knight and the Usos and Jacob and Royce Keys, now Rey Mysterio has some kind of AAA-related business to discuss with Roman Reigns.

47:22And I don't know if this means some kind of bloodline representation in AAA. I don't know if Chef Ray has an unknown Samoan down there in AAA. That would be wild. I don't know what direction this traffic is going to move in.

47:42Sam Roberts:If Roman Reigns is going to become a luchador? Well, listen. What? Chad Gable did it, and now look at him. It worked out really, really well. The IC champ, man? Yeah. Look, magic does happen in AAA. I mean, Dominic Mysterio goes down to AAA. First, he's one of the top good guys. Now he's one of the top bad guys. Chad Gable goes down to AAA. He comes out, you know, finally being able to achieve that Intercontinental Championship. Look at what Omos is doing down in AAA. Omos is killing it in AAA right now. Look at Bronco Nima, okay? He's on two teams. Yes. Two teams. Peros del Mar or Mal and out the mud.

48:24magic stuff happens in triple a i can't imagine what would happen if jacob or the usos or the otc showed up for one night in triple a the police would go insane what if the otc called

48:41Sam Roberts:out the undertaker stop it triple a stop never know it could happen you never know but i mean i'm i'm whatever Ray's got going on, I'm very, very interested in. I'm also very, very interested in the, well, Megan, I took my, you know, I love my Roman Reigns. I know you do. And I've got to discuss what, you know, what is going on in the life of Roman Reigns. But you have somebody that you have an affinity for that made her return. Actually, Megan was just grumbling while we were watching Raw earlier. she goes I can't believe Becky didn't have a match at SummerSlam I was very upset you were upset I was yeah I was ready to justice for Becky honestly it was really bothering me that I had to miss SummerSlam for a while and then when Becky wasn't on the card I was like you know what I'm boycotting it anyways I ran into her backstage there's a video of it and I did not present her with the ESPN moment of the night it was just terrible of you so disrespectful well she didn't earn it and I don't think she ever will she could Yeah, but I mean, a lot of things could happen.

49:46If we live in a world of hypotheticals, we'd never get anything done.

49:49Sam Roberts:She could easily earn it. Well, I mean, she had a big moment tonight. Massive. Liv Morgan. First of all, okay, so when Liv Morgan comes out, I love the glee that Liv Morgan has in what she did because I think a lot of people walked into SummerSlam, myself included. Sorry. Assuming that Liv Morgan. Oh, and you're the one who calls me a Judgment Day hater, huh? No, no, no, no, no. I never said, I said you're just a hater. Oh, just a hater. Okay. All right. Just a straight up hater. You're just a hater. It's just who you are. Typically when we talk about the judgment day, that's when this, this tends to come up the most.

50:25Cause you think they're going to break up. I do. Yeah. But you do with every team.

50:28Sam Roberts:But you also thought that Liv Morgan was going to lose to EO Sky. That doesn't make me a hater. All matches have to have one person winning, one person losing. That's how we, that's how it works. Admit that you were wrong, Sam. I was off on that one thing. Okay. You know, but I mean, you know, I mean, how could I? I was off a little thing. That's slightly off. However. Still have Hall of Fame numbers over there. Yeah. However. Liv Morgan coming out after SummerSlam and just soaking it all in. Because she heard it all. She heard about how Io was going to beat her. She heard about how she shouldn't have been in the Queen of the Ring tournament.

51:10She heard about how she never defended the championship. She heard the criticisms of her reign. And then what does she do? She walks into SummerSlam and while, yes, there was chicanery afoot.

51:24Sam Roberts:Yes. With the Judgment Day. Ultimately, ultimately, what made the decision in that match? Liv hit the oblivion. Although the first oblivion that Io countered was so sick. It was so sick. But then Liv hit another oblivion. She had another one in her. And then one, two, three. And that's it. And you can't really ever take that away from Liv Morgan. It was a clean finish. And as Liv, yeah, that's right. Maybe earlier in the match, chicanery, but the finish itself, clean. I'll say clean. I can't say clean as a whistle, but I'll say clean. She said that her goal is to have the longest reign of all time.

52:02Sam Roberts:She's crazy. I mean, it's bold. Hasn't it been 100 days already? It's very bold. Yeah, over 100 days. Right. But with just one title defense. She's still the champion. So then the next, so we're talking in a year, she'll have two title defenses? No, I'm going to be three. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? Math. I thought you went to college. Yeah, I didn't take journalism, not a lot of math. You went to journalism college? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm supposed to have integrity for that.

52:30So she also complimented.

52:33Sam Roberts:She had three and a half. Yeah, she'd have three and a half. yeah i mean you could do the the fourth one in year two because you haven't quite hit 400 days but regardless they probably be great title that was a great match it was a great match so i just like to see fighting champions like who like becky lynch oh i didn't think you were gonna like becky lynch oh so raquel and this is key raquel had the intercontinental championship which she won last week on Raw, wrapped up in barbed wire, nice custom made for Big Mommy Cool. I love that for Raquel. But as they're sitting there just kind of taking a lap in everything that's happened, you know, here comes post, well, we get to Roxanne Perez versus Saul Ruka.

53:22And post-match, the Judgment Day is attacking Saul Ruka. And you know, there has been a problem as of late, and it's been brought up before, that Sol Ruka has got to spend some time making friends. She's new. I know she's new, but the Judgment Day is picking on her, and there's three of them.

53:40Sam Roberts:Yeah, and no one has really taken Sol Ruka under their wing. Up until tonight, maybe, because the numbers finally got evened out. First, the man comes around. Becky Lynch. What a sight. shows up on Monday Night Raw. And you know... Were you happy to see her? I think even you were happy to see her. No. I find her to be an unpleasant person. And maybe I shouldn't let that get in the way of my TV show, but I find her to be... She's treated me very poorly. You know what she told me at SummerSlam? What did she tell you at SummerSlam? That now that SiriusXM has WWE radio and I do my show on WWE radio, she said I was no longer going to be allowed to have hot takes.

54:22Sam Roberts:I did hear that because she talked to the big dogs. The big guns. Big guns. The big guns. The big guns. The big guns. Yes. And they said that my days of having hot takes are over. Which, if true, I'm going to be fuming. Furious. But I don't think, I think she's wrong about that. I think she might be right. I don't think so. You're going to have to figure out how to process all that. Well, I don't think she's right. But Becky returns and she gets on the microphone. And I will say this. It felt like people were ready to cheer for her. Yes, of course. Finally. Yes. Finally, people are coming around back to their senses.

55:00Sam Roberts:When they see Becky Lynch out there, they go, that's a fighting champion. That's someone I want to get behind. And she calls Liv Morgan out right away. She said Liv Morgan has been a glorified valet instead of a champion. And that she's been flirting instead of fighting. Yeah, and then she imitated her. Of all time. And she did nail it. She did. It was, it was a spot on imitation, but I did like in the, in the very beginning of it, that like Raquel was kind of stepping up because she had the intercontinental championship. And that's something that Becky Lynch defined herself by for a long time.

55:37Yeah.

55:37Sam Roberts:It was like over a year. She points and is like, no, no, honey, I'm not, I'm not, I already made that title relevant. Yes. Which I see no lies. She goes, I'm going for that one now, which is so great for all of us, Becky believers because I think there's just been this desire to see Becky Lynch back in the main event scene as difficult it's really really difficult for me to say it but I do I unfortunately it is true I knew it I knew you'd come around I knew you'd come around unfortunately I would say that there is historically something about a Becky Lynch main event. Right? I mean, there's a reason she's the first woman to main event and win a WrestleMania, for goodness sake.

56:30But still an unpleasant person. But she then says that Liv Morgan has had the worst title reign ever and it's not just her saying it. And to see the it's not just me saying it get turned around and to become like a good guy weapon is really a masterful thing.

56:52Sam Roberts:It was perfect. It was so perfect. And, you know, I love how all of a sudden Becky gets cheers, but she's not going away from those lines that - She's still her. Yes. 100 % still her. Liv, I think, does a great job defending herself, getting right in Becky Lynch's face, right in Becky Lynch's face, hitting her with the all extended all time. Yeah, she told Becky like shouldn't you be home being a mom? Which I'm like she can do both. She's Becky Lynch. I mean now, yeah. Don't you worry about, that's none of your business girl. Look at her. She's doing it all. You think so? Yeah, Becky's out there doing it all.

57:34Sam Roberts:She's showing people you can be a mom and you can be a world champion main eventer. And I like that. Has she been a world champion since she's been a mom? Yeah, I believe so, right? She beat Bianca for the championship. Oh, yeah, I didn't know. Oh, that's right. She came back. Yeah, right away. World champion and mom. That's right. Yeah. Liv did decide to start hitting low. Yeah. You know what I mean? It was like Liv was like, no, I'm just going to go right for the jugular immediately. Going right for your kids. Right. And it's like, that's a tough spot. That got personal quick. Yeah, exactly.

58:07Yeah, yeah, yeah. This escalated quickly.

58:09Sam Roberts:So then Becky said, I'll go right back there, that you're not even the greatest champion in your own group. Which was tough. Because Raquel just won the Intercontinental Championship. And then she said, you're not even the greatest champion that has slept with Dominic Mysterio. Which it's like, why are we bringing up Dominic Mysterio here? What are we doing? Well, it's Luke's boyfriend. Well, you know, what are we doing? I mean, they're Bonnie and Clyde. You yourself have referred to them as the greatest wrestling couple of all time. Watch for me and Liz number two Liv Dom number one Yeah Do you think she's the greatest champ that's ever slept with Dominic Mysterio I don't know any place that anybody Is going to bed I don't know where people sleep Because I don't watch that on Monday Night Raw We stopped doing that on Monday Night Raw years ago We don't do that anymore I don't know I don't know who's sleeping with what Or who I don't know No, all I know is that people have been very successful with Dominic Mysterio.

59:15That's what I know.

59:16Sam Roberts:People. There have been multiple people that have been successful when Dominic Mysterio is by their side. Oh, okay. Yes, historically speaking. And Liv, I mean, listen, why don't you run around talking like, okay, fine, fine. You want to talk about history? You're not even the best this to have been with Dominic, that to have been with Dominic. how many times did the last person all due respect who was with dominic beat eo sky zero how many times did live do it at summer slam she beat her beat her she did beat her be eo sky so it's like okay if we're gonna start you know telling these tales let's tell these tales live hits her with that you're just jealous.

1:00:01Liv hits her with you're just jealous because your time has passed. And now it's my time, which again, what did I say? Takes us back to multiple generations duking it out. Yes. This is not the space where Becky Lynch and the four horsewomen are the top of the card and the Liv Morgans of the world are the up and comers. This is the Liv Morgans of the world getting told by Triple H on Unreal, you're the one.

1:00:27Sam Roberts:You're a ring general. I can put you in there with anyone. Yes, you're a ring general. This is not Liv Morgan showing up and going, wow, I can't believe it. I'm actually a champion. I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to be here. Finally won money in the bank. This is a totally different Liv Morgan. Maybe if I keep pitching ideas, they'll just let me on TV. That's not this Liv Morgan. No. This is a ring general, as stated by Triple H, who knows a thing or two about being in that position. I would say so. Right? And so I think that that's part of it. That's part of this, like where we're at is, okay, how good is Liv Morgan?

1:01:03And Liv Morgan can't be as good as Becky Lynch was. She not only has to be better than Becky Lynch was, she has to be better than Becky Lynch is in order to call herself the champion.

1:01:13Sam Roberts:Which is pretty tough because she is the greatest female wrestler of all time. Well, Becky Lynch has to now step forward and go like, yeah, and that's not a note on my past. That's a note on my present. because if Becky Lynch is the greatest female wrestler of all time because of what she did, then Liv Morgan is going to mop the floor with her. But if Becky Lynch is the greatest female wrestler of all time because of what she's doing, then that's a different scenario. And I think that that's the question for a lot of people in similar positions on both the men's and women's side of the roster.

1:01:48That's the question that needs to be answered. Is Roman in the position that he's in because of what he did or because of what he's doing? Same with Cody. Same with Punk. Same with Becky. Same with all these people because of what they did or because of what they are doing. Because this is a what have you done for me lately place. Especially with the talent roster that we have.

1:02:08Sam Roberts:It sure is. And then Stephanie Vaquer appears. So they're retreating. They're retreating. And Stephanie Vaquer shows up from behind. And you can see Liv Morgan going, this is the last thing on the planet that I needed. Like, you have to be kidding me. I didn't see. This is her most physical rival she's ever encountered. I was talking to Roxanne Perez just on Sunday on WWE radio about the head-on collision that her and Liv Morgan had. The sound it made. Oof. At the hands of Stephanie Vaquer. And now Stephanie is back. Becky is back in the main event scene. Stephanie and Becky, though, not necessarily just, oh, hey, buddy.

1:02:51Hey, buddy. staring each other down because I think both of them, and again, you look at Stephanie Vaker, who outside of the WWE system had to work and work and work and work to get into the spot that she's in. And Becky Lynch, who inside of the WWE system had to work and work and work and work to be in the spot that she's in. You know, make no mistake about it, Becky Lynch was never predestined to be the person in this division.

1:03:18Sam Roberts:Do you remember her debut? Yeah, of course I do. not great not great at all great but she had to do this stephanie vaquer the same way so stephanie and becky looking at each other realizing that they are roadblocks in each other's way to taking what live morgan has i think really immediately complicates and elevates the women's world title scene and again to add that other layer of generations and mobility within the world title scene stephanie vacher one of the newer faces absolutely who's come along but by no means is a rookie in this business no no and i'll tell you who else is is not a rookie we got a couple of big returns at summer slam and these are the people that you had said earlier had have now created a whole new sense of depth in the top of the card scene in the WWE.

Kevin Owens, another person that we talked to on the SummerSlam recap podcast for night two, which was a fabulous interview. It ended with him kissing my bald head. So I would recommend, not only did we interview Kevin Owens, but we also interviewed Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens bum-rushed the interview. 1:07:04the last few weeks. Big Cass, back in the WWE. And dude, he's big. Yeah, he's seven feet tall. And the thing about that is it can't be taught.

1:07:14Sam Roberts:Seven feet tall, but also shredded. Shredded. He's in the best shape I've ever seen him in. Big Cass was a force in the WWE for a period of time. A favorite of mine, somebody who it was clear had this, I mean, just this world of potential. But life has a way of lifing. And that's exactly what happened to Big Cass. And if you listen to his words tonight, he feels like it cost him eight years, eight years. He had to spend away from the WWE when all of this didn't work. Eight long years watching people come up and people come up and people come up and he goes out there tonight and he takes out Javon Evans.

1:07:56Now for me, I immediately had my suspicions about why Javon Evans. And by the way, Javon Evans came across so much more aggressively in his match with Ethan Page tonight, even staring down that camera as he pinned Ethan Page.

1:08:11Sam Roberts:Yeah, he's a totally different person than the let's get bouncy, happy to be here guy that we got to know, what, six months ago? I think Javon Evans is also becoming aware of the heightened level of competition in the WWE when it comes to finding spots on the roster. But I think that I thought, because later in the show, Big Cass was asked about why Javon Evans was a target. And Big Cass said that because he was there. He said that he's back to stack bodies and Javon Evans just happens to be the first. He says nothing personal. He says nothing personal and I believe it, but I also have to believe that Big Cass, who at one point in his life was that guy who had all the potential, was that guy that if Triple H or somebody like that was doing an interview and the question was, you know, who are you looking at on the roster?

1:09:08Who's the next guy? Who's the next this? The same way Triple H mentions Javon Evans all the time. All the time. Eight, nine years ago, he was talking about Big Cass. And I do feel like that could, maybe not, I don't know, could be a contributing factor in all of this. that Big Cass is sitting there going like looking at this new generation of people coming up ready for their spot now and saying no the same way Baron Corbin showed up on Smackdown and immediately went for Trick Williams saying no nope I missed out on this and now I'm here to get it back I'm taking what is mine I think Big Cass was gone for even longer and maybe a guy who was treated as if he had even more potential and it was taken away from him and he's in a situation now where he can get it all back um i mean so many returns as of late you know of course baron corbin of course big cast at summer slam like i was saying randy orton kevin owens summer slam 2026 delivered countless memorable moments of course night one saw nick aldis enter the ring as a competitor for the first time in wwe while obafemi defeated brock lesnar in a brutal hell in a cell match to cement his place as a future.

1:10:25Night two, night two, I feel like was even better. Kevin Owens returning from injury. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins delivering an instant classic. Of course, the stare down between Obafemi and Braun Breaker. And I really want to get into this, and I hope that it continues next week where we can really give it more time.

1:11:47But, I mean, Obafemi going out there. First of all, Paul Heyman congratulating Obafemi on beating Brock Lesnar. Oba going out there and declaring himself the leader of this generation, the person who is going to be at the helm of the next generation of WWE superstars. I think Braun Breaker took that personally. You know I love an IOA confrontation. You know I love when the music of one superstar starts before the other superstar is left, and we get that stare down. And my God, Braun Breaker. That was the last thing you wanted to hear. Because guess what? Last year, before Obafemi was on the main roster.

1:12:32Sam Roberts:Everyone was saying that about Braun Breaker. That he's the guy this conversation was about. Hey, six months ago, everyone was saying that about Braun Breaker. When he had a match with CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at Madison Square Garden. There was a real question about whether this was going to be the time. Is Braun Breaker going to win the World Heavyweight Championship? Is he going to walk into the Royal Rumble a champ? What about when Braun Breaker took out Seth Rollins, took him out of the vision, and then held up Seth Rollins' title? What did you say? Oh, the future? That's now.

1:12:59What did you say when Braun Breaker had the title on his shoulder?

1:13:01Sam Roberts:He said it looked good. Yeah. I said it looked right. Yes, that's exactly what you said. It looked good. It looked right. Yes, that's exactly what you said, and I remembered it. And I feel like Braun Breaker has slipped away from that scene. I do, too. And I feel like the Obafemi hype train is on full course. And I think I was so glad that Braun Breaker did exactly what he needed to do tonight. And that's break Joe Hendry in half. Yes. I mean, this is what we've needed to see from Braun Breaker. Because to your point, I think he has slipped away from that. Not just from Oba, but you talk about all these young faces.

1:13:35Sam Roberts:Javon Evans is someone we just talked about. You talk about Trick Williams. he's in the mix there as well I mean a lot of young faces are making an instant impact that was brawn breaker and now I mean it doesn't seem that way I mean look at trick Williams yeah Baron Corbin showed up and took his title I mean this is this is as competitive as I remember things being in the WWE it's not going to be handed to you and you can't be patient anymore and I think Braun Breaker's figuring that out right away. And you can't get comfortable. Oh no. And Braun Breaker's making sure that nobody anywhere near him is going to be comfortable because he'll be breaking everybody's ribs with those spears.
