In short
WWE Raw recap focused on SummerSlam contract signing fallout between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, plus Brock Lesnar vs. Obafemi build, and Bloodline/Maxine/Otis/L.A. Knight storyline updates.
Guests (hosts)
Megan Morant and Sam Roberts. Morant and Roberts discuss WWE angles and match psychology on WWE Now.
Key claims
- Rollins’ confidence is tied to Roman “never beat him” and to Roman needing to prove himself this year.
- Roman’s mind games include calling Rollins “number two,” referencing Money in the Bank cash-ins, and implying Rollins can’t handle being top.
- Brock Lesnar is framed as “obsessed” with Obafemi; Paul Heyman claims Obafemi stalked/clung to Brock and even took out restraining orders.
- Obafemi’s police-attack escalation suggests Hell in a Cell will permanently change both Brock and Obafemi.
- L.A. Knight teaming with Solo Sokoa is “official” despite Knight’s Bloodline history.
Notable examples
- Contract signing ends with Roman having his face stomped into the mat.
- Dallas PD surrounded Brock; Obafemi hoists and throws multiple officers.
- Solo Sokoa’s surprise interference spikes Jimmy Uso; LA Knight swings a steel chair; graphic shows Jacob Fatu, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso.

0:49This is the Raw Recap on WWE Now at WWE and Fanatics Original Production.
1:02Oh, Megan Morant. Here we are again.
1:07Sam Roberts:I love a good contract signing, don't you? Oh, it's the best. It's the best. In the afterglow of a contract signing, and it really was. So what made tonight's contract signing between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns so unique is that it was almost just a contract signing. Almost. There is, when you go through all the paths of what's possible, there is a version of the events tonight that simply end with a contract being signed and Adam Pearce taking the contract and going, well, thank you, gentlemen, and thank you for acting like gentlemen. Both men put pen to paper and we go forward. That's right.
1:46I mean, look, was there a tiny bit of hostility? Maybe. But things are said sometimes at the negotiating table. But ultimately, no one was hurt. It was almost, it felt like a contract signing at the beginning where it's like, well, I mean, I guess this was advertised as a contract signing, but it hardly even seems worth televising.
2:05Sam Roberts:I did love at the beginning how Seth Rollins' feet were up on the table and he's looking calm, cool, and collected. But then you look across the table and there's Roman Reigns and almost no one has ever looked cooler in their life than Roman Reigns. And you're just thinking of all of the history between these two right there. You see it? Yeah. But the thing about it is usually I find when people try to act like that with Roman Reigns, you can tell how they're feigning. You can tell how they want to give off being cooler than the other side of the pillow when in reality they're trying to survive in the shadow of the tribal chief.
2:47But to me, I don't know, Seth Rollins, I do believe that Seth Rollins takes this little bit of, I don't know if it's where he draws confidence from. It's this little thing inside of him where he knows that the thing that he's got is that Roman Reigns has never beat him. Roman Reigns two weeks ago said.
3:15Sam Roberts:Which isn't really a little thing. It's a huge thing. But it's right here. And he knows he's the only one that's got it. It's like when Smeagol has that ring, you know, in the Lord of the Rings. It's his precious is what it is. That's right. That's right. And I think that he allows that to give him a certain amount of control. Two weeks ago, Roman Reigns goes, I don't want to fight you. I don't want to beat you. I need to beat you. And Seth Rollins knows that Roman is the one that needs to beat him because it hasn't been done before. And I do feel, like I don't think Roman Reigns would necessarily admit this.
4:01I don't think that it's in Roman Reigns to do something like that. But I do think that this year for Roman Reigns, and what makes this title reign different than the previous one, is that Roman Reigns is not only using this to show the whole world that he's still, as he said many times tonight, the number one person. But as we've pointed out here and as you've pointed out, he is disproving any sort of little chink in the Roman Reigns armor, any little criticism that has followed him over the course of the last five or six years.
4:37Sam Roberts:You mean how he can't do it without his family? Exactly right. How he doesn't show up to work? Right. He's done both of those things. And I think that that's such a big part of this, and that's why it's so important now more than ever that Roman Reigns gets that victory against Seth Rollins. Because then no one can say, well, Rollins still has one on you. You haven't beat this guy. And he's like, no, this version of Roman Reigns has to beat this guy. Now, did you, when Roman pointed out that he believes that the only thing that Seth Rollins is number one at is being the tribal chief's number one hater.
5:13As someone who is kind of not necessarily towards the tribal chief, but in that club, did you go like, oh, I mean, that's still an accomplishment?
5:20Sam Roberts:I said, well, it's a good day to be me because I'm not number one at that, you know? No, no, no, no, no. But just being a hater. I'm not a hater. I'm not a hater, Sam. Oh, wow. I am not a hater at all. No? Not a hater. No. Have you heard the pod? You claim that I am a hater, but it is false claims. It's actually defamation. A lot of people are saying that. Oh, really? Yeah. I haven't received not a cease nor a desist. Well, you better stay tuned because those are headed your way. No, but actually when everybody started chanting that Seth was a hater, I knew what that felt like because it's done to me all the time by you.
5:56Sam Roberts:So I sort of empathize with Seth Rollins in that moment when they were all calling him a hater. But I also was like, hey. It's an arena full of little Sam Robertses. You know, it's a cool throne for me because I can no longer be told that I'm the number one hater. It's Seth. And Roman said it's Seth, so that means it is. I would follow the tribal chief's lead on a lot of this stuff, including that, I suppose. But I didn't realize how thematic that was going to be for this segment. When he said that's the only thing that you're number one at. Because Roman Reigns, and maybe Seth left the ring. He walked out of that ring confidently.
6:33he walked out knowing that it would really bother Roman Reigns that like I don't need to be in this spotlight with you because I think that that happens right Roman Reigns the top star in the industry and I think that there is a thing where no matter how big you are to share the ring with Roman Reigns you you you want to have a moment you want to get one over on him you want to at least just like exist in this glow and and take advantage of this spotlight being on you and step up to the plate but I don't think that's how Seth Rollins looks at Roman Reigns I think that Seth Rollins knows Roman Reigns too well I don't think that Seth Rollins looks at this Roman Reigns and sees the OTC and sees the biggest star in the industry and sees this guy I think Seth Rollins still and
7:19Sam Roberts:he's the only one he sees the guy he met in FCW Seth Rollins knows the guy who is sitting in that locker room yes coming right off of developmental and saying well who's who's the who's the big guy here who are we going to take out Seth Rollins knows the guy who is back there plotting and planning with Seth on how do we take this how do we take this company how do we take this industry for ourselves to create the greatest generation right this is this is I think what Seth Rollins sees when he sees Roman Reigns. And that's why Seth Rollins can ultimately grab hold of that power of going, once again, Seth leaving that ring is Seth saying, I don't need you.
8:03You need me. I want my title back. Don't get it. Don't get that mistaken. But this is a unique spot for Roman to be in. I think Seth Rollins is trying to take advantage of that by saying, I don't need you. I think that's the mind game that I read into watching those two go back and forth the mind game that I read was that the attempt for Seth Rollins was to push Roman in a way that nobody else can really do it which is saying I know who you are and I don't need you you need me and Seth believes I think that Roman is the guy who at one point couldn't wrestle his way out of a paper bag I mean look at one point I don't know but it doesn't matter if that was at one point because that's not now and that's the other thing Seth Rollins is hung up on that but Seth Rollins is hung up on it
8:51Sam Roberts:he can't let go of it because he is the number one hater you heard him tonight right he said you know when Roman was pointing out Seth's shortcomings I think that Seth still has this thing that he resents Roman because he thinks that Roman was handed opportunities that Seth feels like he deserved. But the fact, and that's been something that people have said about Roman Reigns for a long time. And you've talked about this a lot. Just because someone opens the door doesn't mean you can take credit for everything that they've done once they've walked through the door. There are many people, that's right, who have the door open for them.
9:28They get in the room and they build nothing. The room looks exactly the same whether they were in that room or not. When somebody has the door open for them and they go, hey, now it's your time to take this room, it's up to them to take that room. And I think Roman's done a pretty good job at taking the room. Nobody can do it like Roman.
9:47Sam Roberts:Yeah. You know how nobody can do it like Roman? Because if they could do it like Roman, they'd do it like Roman. WWE's on Netflix. Roman would say that that's because of him. I would say that that'd be tough to argue. Look, I think that Roman goes, okay, so Roman's sitting there, right? And he's left in the ring. And Seth walks out on him. and Roman doesn't like that so he goes how am I gonna gonna get under Seth Rollins's skin here how am I gonna make it hurt this hurts me I feel hurt in my heart and I don't like that I think that's what Roman is thinking well and then he starts to to really go there and he brings up like whoa what are you just gonna take your title back and then get hurt because you can't handle the pressure see that's a baldy thing that Roman has done multiple times with people he did it with Jacob as well he goes what if you do beat me you know what I mean like Roman Roman will put himself on this platform where it's like you don't understand like the me as an individual me is so much greater being me like you can't beat me but even worse for you would be if you did because you can't do this you'd never live up to it you would succumb to all the pressure that comes right that's right like the idea and that that that psychological thing the idea of convincing somebody that as much as you don't want to lose oh you wouldn't do well winning because you don't you can't handle being the top guy around here you don't even understand what being the top guy around here entails and if you're weak mentally which i'm not saying seth is i'm not saying this even works on seth but it does work on some people and if you're weak mentally you're going oh my god maybe am i in too deep maybe i haven't thought about those things you're right maybe i haven't thought of all that comes with being the world heavyweight champion maybe i haven't thought of all that comes with being the guy but roman makes it personal when he goes i mean best case scenario what are you gonna do win the title and have to give it up because you're hurt and it's like oh come on that's real life dog he calls it self-sabotage right as in like it's almost like look i know injuries happen but like yours happened kind of a lot yeah people are starting to wonder you think that's you you think it's because you can't handle the pressure i mean once maybe a coincidence right couple times which is like i mean you talk trend is developing he loves getting in people's heads that roman reigns loves getting in people's heads it was that moment and then when he brought up the money in the bank contract where i went oh right right where he goes you're still cashing in money in the bank briefcases we did that at 31 you're doing it again summer slip it's like come on roman come on money in the bank is cool dude i was like i loved both of those cash ins why do you have to go there it's like you had to fake an injury to get a title I was like, oh, you just took, I mean, that's been a cool thing.
12:28That's been, well, like the ruse of the century. That's been like a cool thing. They literally had to, they did a Netflix docuseries about it. It was so cool.
12:37Sam Roberts:I mean, Seth and Becky's daughter spoiled the news to the teacher. Yeah, and that teacher had to learn to keep her lips shut. She had to learn about kayfabe. Right. But then like, Roman's like, yeah, that's not cool. I just win matches. What are you doing? And it's like, oh, man. Why'd you have to take that away from me? Why'd you do that? And then when Roman brings up, they gave you everything. All of my stuff. Right? And I was like, oh, shoot, Paul Heyman. You know, they gave him all of it. And Seth still got hurt. He did. He did. He said, you're number two. I'm number one. Just acknowledge it.
13:18And then he used the B word. He said, your work daddy is running this place. and you're still number two.
13:24Sam Roberts:And it was kind of weird because then Seth hit the pedigree. That's Seth's move now. That's Seth's move now. That's not weird. That's Seth's move. Here's the thing. Seth Rollins said that he's glad he's not Roman Reigns. I don't know that I believe that. I don't think anybody can honestly say with a straight face that they're glad they're not Roman Reigns. But I do think that Seth Rollins takes pride in the journey that he's been on. And I do think that Seth Rollins is a guy who is Roman Reigns, as much as he's in the pro wrestling business, is in the Roman Reigns business. You don't hear Roman Reigns talking about protecting the industry for the sake of the industry.
14:03You hear Roman Reigns talking about protecting the industry for the sake of his family. When Seth Rollins talks, he's one of the guys in the conversations that comes up of like, who's that next guy that's going to work behind the scenes? Who's that next guy that's going to work with young talent? Who's that next guy that you'll see, you know 20 years from now in a writer's room on unreal who's that who's who's that guy that's going to do by the way what triple h did all those years ago when he was injured and said hey while
14:34Sam Roberts:i'm injured can i learn the entire business hey even go back to when roman and seth first confronted face to face just a couple of weeks ago and seth was talking about how they created the greatest generation and look around wwe right now and that's happening this could be one of the last times they have the opportunity to dance and i think i think seth was very truthful when he says we're running two separate races i think seth looks at his world in professional wrestling and i think that this goes with his original idea which was this idea that seth is a guy who came in as a kid who had a dream to be the biggest star in professional wrestling and I think when that's how you come in there's that part of you that never wants to leave the world of professional wrestling I think that's why Cody Rhodes approaches things in a certain way I think that's why CM Punk approaches things in a certain way and I think that's why Seth Rollins approaches things in a certain way and that's why for Seth Rollins it's never been about the money the money wasn't the reward the work is the reward he wasn't doing it for free though no come on look he's got he's got he's got kid of course but last week when he was talking about that for him the work is the reward and i feel like that is that holds true to everything we're just been saying about seth rollins unless he's still just playing mind games unless he's trying to come back look i thought that ultimately in the war of words roman did more damage tonight than seth i agree with that i thought that roman going you're number two I'm number one it's always going to be that way is that's the real like big brother little brother hurtful you know listen you're awesome but I'm the man and it's always going to be that way no matter what you do that'll never change and that does kind of strip Seth's power away when Seth is over here going you know you've never beat me you need me I mean just putting it out there like that because you know that's the insecurity that Seth Rollins has.
16:43But look, Roman Reigns is the one that ended up with his face planted into the mat. Roman Reigns is the one that ended up with a boot print on the back of his head. So who's to say that Roman Reigns did the right thing? Who's to say that Roman Reigns didn't just light a fire under Seth Rollins?
17:02Sam Roberts:I think he did light a fire under Seth Rollins. I mean, you heard Rollins even before the physicality took place saying, is that all you got, Roman? What else? What else are you going to say? Yeah, but then Roman had more. He's like, okay, I'll say some more then. I'll say some more. I'll say what everybody else is thinking. Yeah. You know, it's so interesting going back and like there is so much history and watching kind of the history videos that they were playing throughout Monday Night Raw and seeing The Shield. And I'm sure that, you know, as they were saying on commentary, there'll be more of that story playing out over the course because I think that, you know, while we have seen Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns before, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are at that point where they are top guys now but like this is it I think for Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns I'm not saying they'll never ever have a match again but I don't know if they'll ever have a match in a stadium again I don't know if they'll ever have a match for the world title again I don't know if they'll ever have a match where it's like no one of us is going to be number one and one of us is going to be number two and the way that's set up it makes it difficult for me because that's what I always think about like not only is it a question of who's going to win the match but what's next for the person who doesn't and I think that Seth and Roman are in this spot right now where it's all on the line and as assuming there's a clean finish somebody walks out of that stadium in Minnesota saying that's number one it's not me there's one number one and i'm not that guy and for roman if he can't get past seth rollins that's it something that everybody forever will have on roman but for seth if he can't get back the world heavyweight title that he never lost and if he's unable to say well i'm roman's kryptonite what's next for rollins well seth roland's also has always defined himself by that world heavyweight championship always and so i mean he held that iteration year old champion yeah so it'll be interesting to see if he can't get it from roman what would happen but if he does get it from roman again what what does roman then go and do is that it and what where does that leave the bloodline right right well we'll get into the bloodline as a matter of fact uh i don't know if you've seen this speaking of the bloodline Have you seen my new jersey?
19:29Sam Roberts:I haven't. Pull that baby out. Look at this. Look at this. My new jersey. Big Jim Oose 01. 21:42Sam Roberts:Dan, how's it Mike Cruz you if you didn't pay human monies for that shirt? I paid many human monies for that shirt. Good. More than they even asked. I said, keep the change. Okay. I said, keep the change, add it to the Danhausen royalty. Wow. Like the tip cup at Starbucks. I said, that's for Dan. They said, Dan who? I said, Hausen. They said, okay. You're such a suck up. No, no, no, no, no. I just think that he deserves it. He deserves it. and we got something that I don't know if we deserve or not. Brock Lesnar starting off Monday Night Raw in Dallas, Texas. Where Brock Lesnar's cowboy hat, just a hat.
22:26They just call that a hat in Dallas, Texas. But Brock comes to the ring.
22:30Sam Roberts:Everywhere else, like a baseball cap is your traditional hat, but in Texas, the cowboy hat. Cowboy hat, it's like, what's he wearing? That's a hat. Just a hat. Nothing special about it. Just a normal hat, traditional hat. It's what you put on your head. Brock Lesnar comes out with Paul Heyman but he's surrounded by police five of them and you're going what is Brock Lesnar doing out here surrounded by police it's an odd look for Brock Lesnar Dallas PD baby that's right and Paul Heyman makes it clear that the police are out here because Obafemi is obsessed with Brock Lesnar he says Obafemi gave up his opportunity at a title match at SummerSlam to face Brock Lesnar.
23:14And you know, there were a lot of fans after it happened initially, right after the King of the Ring tournament. And that is a narrative that has continued that have questioned. Why would Obafemi give up his title match at SummerSlam to face Brock Lesnar? And that's something that Paul Heyman explored in the opening segment of Monday Night Raw. And Paul Heyman said that it's because Obafemi is a stalker, is a is a is a is a clinger clinger number nine is what he said clinger number nine
23:43Sam Roberts:what's the difference between number nine and i don't know say number 10 i don't think it goes as high as 10 okay is there clinger number eight yeah but it's not as big as clinger clinger number nine okay not as big a deal uh and a really really really really really big dummy the biggest dummy he's ever met in his entire life, I think is what Paul Heyman said. Which is starting, I mean, it gets to the point where it starts to feel juvenile. You know, that feels like, you know, what your kids say to each other. You're the biggest dummy I've ever met in my life. Like, to say that about Obafemi, you better have a police force and the beast right next to you.
24:28Because I saw Paul Heyman in the ring with Obafemi last week, and he wasn't calling anybody a big dummy.
24:34Sam Roberts:Definitely not. That's for sure. Also, Brock wearing the shirt talk, you know what? Get hit. Yeah. That's his new thing. I like the shirt. It's a good shirt. It is. It's a good shirt. And there's precedence to it. We know it seems to be true. So Heyman is, you know. Well, then Heyman also said that Obafemi was like a psycho ex-girlfriend coming after Brock. Right. Do you have any experience with that? No. No ex-girlfriend has ever wanted anything to do with him. Shocking. Yeah, no, I've never been in a scenario where I've broken up with a girl and she's like, no, please don't. That's, I don't know why that is, I don't know if that's a typical thing, but no, that hasn't.

25:15I didn't know what Paul Hammond was talking about when he said that. Is that a thing that other people go through? Yeah, a lot of times. Oh, wow, really? A lot of times. I've never heard of that.
25:22Sam Roberts:Like, no, please don't leave me, and then they stalk. Women will say that? Yeah, nowadays they stalk on social media. Back in the day, though, used to actually like, you know, show up. No. Legit stalk. All my ex-girlfriends have been like, Sam, I said I just want to be friends. What are you talking about? So I didn't realize. Okay, that's actually good clarity for me. Now I actually understand the segment much better now. So it's just not my experience. You know, I don't know. It's probably the girls. Yeah, definitely the girls. But he also says, you know, Paul Heyman also says that Brock is obsessed with Obafemi.
25:56Sam Roberts:Which is crazy. And he says this is dangerous. Yeah, because Heyman said he called Brock while Brock was out hunting. And all Brock wanted to talk about was Obafemi. Right. Which is frightening. I think it's crazy that Brock has a cell phone when he's hunting. Because Brock doesn't strike me as a tech guy. No. I mean, he's definitely not watching the product. Maybe it's like one of those old school. Motorola Razr. Yeah, Razr. He probably got the Razr. I don't think he's doing a sidekick. Blackberry? No. Because he doesn't have email, I don't think. Pager. It's probably a pager. It's probably a pager.
26:26And it says, Heyman 911. Because it's emergency. And then Brock Lesnar finds a payphone. and he goes up to him and he goes hey I just got your page I'm assuming you want to talk about Obafemi and Paul's like no and he goes well I do I want to talk about Obafemi quite a bit and so but he doesn't but Paul Heyman doesn't say anything about Clinger or Stalker or Psycho Ex-Girlfriend or Really Big Dummy he just says also Brock Lesnar's obsessed with Obafemi
26:53Sam Roberts:and it's unhealthy yeah but for Brock it's unhealthy in a way where he's like Brock's going to hurt him so badly so badly. You don't want to be locked inside a hell in a cell with Brock Lesnar. And look, whatever verbiage Paul Heyman wants to use, whatever descriptives he wants to use, he's not wrong. You don't want to be locked in a hell in a cell with Brock Lesnar. Just ask anybody who's been locked in a cell with Brock Lesnar. You could ask anybody that's ever been even remotely near the presence of Brock Lesnar. They could tell you, I don't want to be locked in a cell with that guy. Anybody that's been in an octagon with Brock Lesnar.
27:29They go, you want us to add a roof to this? They go, absolutely not. Anybody that's been in a ring, anybody that's been anywhere with Brock Lesnar, you go, no, no, no, no, no. I want a revolving door. No lock, please. Thank you very, very much. But Paul Heyman says that he's taken out a restraining order on Obafemi because he's such a psycho. And he says he has also taken out a restraining order on Brock and he would appreciate if Brock would be a law-abiding citizen. And Brock decides, fine, he will be but Obafemi thinks this whole thing is ridiculous here comes Obafemi going what are you talking about what does any of this even mean what are you saying I want an explanation and Paul Heyman goes you want an explanation here's the explanation you just broke the law arrest this man and Paul Heyman and Brock they take their 100 feet you know because Brock has to stay 100 feet away and obafemi just takes out the entire police department he starts flinging officers over the top rope like they're nothing which it's like you know god bless the dallas pd here but they are looking up yeah at the ruler at obafemi the bringer of war yeah i'm not sure uh these five
28:47Sam Roberts:officers knew exactly what they were getting into tonight and i'm not sure if they they knew these the size and strength of Obafemi. You don't think that Paul Heyman was let them in on that? No, no, no. Because I think if he did, they wouldn't be standing there. Well, yeah, well, luckily for them, they weren't standing there very long because Obafemi disposed of them immediately and then made it very, very clear that you cannot run from the ruler. You cannot run from Obafemi and that hell in a cell, there will be no escaping for Brock Lesnar to do. Now, Brock Lesnar is avoiding Obafemi. Of course.
29:28But I don't read that as fear on Brock Lesnar's fault.
29:32Sam Roberts:No, it was interesting when they were up the ramp after Oba had hoisted the fifth and final Dallas police officer out of the ring, like a shot put, on top of the other Dallas police officers. Brock Lesnar is standing at the entryway, And he was like, sort of like grinning and welcoming all this aggression that was displayed by Obafemi. And Paul Heyman is behind him. And Paul looked scared out of his mind. Well, look, Paul Heyman has been in over his head, you know, a few times as of late. And I don't think he wants to get there again. But I also think that, you know, Obafemi is the one who has fought for this match.
30:14Obafemi is the one that spent, you know, months talking about wanting Brock Lesnar to be back.
30:22Sam Roberts:And he gave up a world heavyweight title or a... Yes, or WWE Undisputed Championship match. Yeah, he could have been wrestling Roman Reigns or, at this point, CM Punk at SummerSlam, and he chose not to. He chose instead to fight Brock Lesnar. And I think Brock Lesnar is looking at that as, I got you where I want you. I think Brock Lesnar is also sitting there going like, well, last time we wrestled, I beat you. I won that match like Brock doesn't walk in going I don't think anybody can beat this guy Brock's going okay I have to do what I did last time F5 F5 F5 F5 maybe throw him into a cage but at the same time I get the sense from Obafemi that he's looking at this as this is a different beast this is a coward of a beast this is not the beast that once was feared because he's running from me instead of stepping up to me and those world heavyweight title opportunities those world championship opportunities in WWE I'll get to those after I bury the beast yeah I don't buy that coward thing I don't buy that coward thing at all nope I think Obafemi is yeah I don't I know I don't think there's any I don't think I don't think Brock's being cowardly because first of all why would he show up on TV if he beat Obafemi if I beat a guy and he's like you're a coward if you don't come back it's like okay fine i'll be a coward i beat you okay so what does that make you like a fine i won't come back you know what i mean and then eventually he does come back and he kicks him in the femis and he fives him and it's like you know if anything i'm going like well that that that it's almost like a like a that the rule in in sales or in negotiation is whoever talks first loses.
32:06I think Brock Lesnar is probably listening to the advice of Paul Heyman and taking control of the situation. And like, maybe he thinks it's a good idea to get Obafemi this upset. It doesn't feel like it's a great idea to get Obafemi this upset. It feels like Obafemi only gets more dangerous as he gets more upset. But maybe that's something that Brock wants to deal with. Maybe Brock thinks that he's thrown Obafemi off his game. But I don't think it's, I don't, I don't think there is any part of Brock Lesnar that is going to be scared walking into a Hell in a Cell with Obafemi.
32:39Sam Roberts:He didn't look scared at all. I don't think it's, I don't think that's what it is. I think he's trying to, to, to, to maintain a control of the situation for whatever it's worth. I don't know if it's going to be effective. You know, I, I, I don't know if it's the right strategy. Well, it doesn't look like he's getting to Oba though. Well, Oba's throwing police officers around the ring. Something's getting to him. Sure. That's not normal behavior. Throwing police officer, that's not normal behavior. Throwing things is normal behavior for Opa Femi, but police officer. Because he's a shot putter.
33:10Sam Roberts:Yeah. But look, I mean, I don't know. Is it effective or is it ineffective? The idea that you are so deep into somebody's kitchen that they give up a title match. Yeah, you could say, well, I'll have another one. It's like, okay, if you say so. But it feels like it's one of those things where you can assume you'll have another one, but will you have another one? I don't know if people can walk out of a hell in a cell with Brock Lesnar the same way they walk in. That's true. But if Oba wins, he will absolutely not walk out the same way he walked in. But if Oba is confident now, if Oba walks out of his own power of the hell in a cell and leaves Brock Lesnar laying in Minnesota, I mean, there's going to be no stopping this guy.
34:00Sam Roberts:None. None. So there is a lot of, there's a lot to gain there. Either way, he's not leaving SummerSlam the same person. Yeah, I would say going back to like the Roman Seth thing, it's not that different from the Brock Opa thing where it's like one of the, I mean, they're both changed forever after this match. Yeah. This is a definitive statement making match where it's like for Oba, either, oh my God, he really is indestructible or maybe he will be, but not yet. For Brock, it's man, he still is the beast. Or I think we've met the guy who can stop the beast. The beast is not inconquerable anymore.
34:49And it's been both of them, each one of those two is gonna hit one of those two options. There's no middle ground.
34:59Sam Roberts:There isn't a middle ground. Especially with - It's not, well, Oba got close or - It's Hell in a Cell. It's a definitive structure. There's no sort of - And this is the third match. It's the third match in a definitive structure by definition. Like you can't expect to go in and being like, well, if only, but this, but if I, but if they, nope, not in Hell in a Cell, not with Brock, not with Oba. So you are right. for both people, both of them, regardless of outcome, come out differently than they walked in. And that's a very, very exciting thing. I can't wait. I've got to tell you, speaking of exciting, this weekend is finally here.

37:27Sam Roberts:I hope you don't get let down by Roman's entrance. What? I don't think you'll be let down by his entrance but I do think there will be a little part of you if he doesn't acknowledge you for lack of a better term. that's a little butthurt about it. Are you saying that you'll be watching me in case I try to fake a stretch like I wasn't going for a hug? Yes, I will. I will be. Oh, hey, man. What's... Oh. I got a hug last year. I didn't see him. From Roman? No, John Cena. Well, John Cena's not Roman Reigns. Come on. John Cena's the goat, never seen 17. Of course. He's very different than the OTC. And when he hugged me, he was a villain.
38:03John Cena. That's true. I forgot about that. He hugged me as a villain. You know what I mean? That's even more impressive. villain John Cena hugged me.
38:10Sam Roberts:I think because of the hug last year from Cena that made his life, he said it. He said it here on the now. I think you're getting your hopes up a little too high. You don't think it was precedent setting? No. I think it was just like a one-off. Okay, but also, keep in mind, you are a hater. I'm not the number one hater. And a negative person. You know what? I hope Roman acknowledges me. and just walks right past you. Wow, see? And not even because I would like to be acknowledged by the travel chief. It would be nice. Right. But more so because it would really bother you. Okay, you see? You see what I'm, you prove me.
38:50It would really bother you. You've proven me right again. A hater, a negative person, bad friend, all these things combined, you know?
38:57Sam Roberts:I think you should just take the scene a moment for what it was and say, wow, that was great. And it never needs to be topped. The fact that you're heading into year two of Fanatics games, you're like, oh, let's make it happen again. You struck lightning in a bottle. Just relish it. Relish in it. Come on. We don't have to one-up that. I live in an abundance mentality, okay? I need more, more, more, more, more. Abundance. I'm surrounded by abundance, okay? I'm doing the secret. I'm thinking thoughts of, well, anyway. Are you manifesting? I manifest constantly. You should see my vision board. It's weird.
39:32but it's odd but i'll tell you i'll tell you who is manifesting and vision boarding
39:41Sam Roberts:poor otis oh my god this otis oh my gosh she's evil isn't she maxine yeah i don't know man evil i don't know if she's evil you ask it was another situation where i was like wow becky was right moody maxine yeah i mean i don't know i mean becky was right she's in love Maxine with Austin Theory she's being loyal she was going to plant one on Otis just set him up so that Theory could deliver the low blow and then she laughed in his face you got a man right yeah what's up no it's not it wasn't something so you could brag if somebody was insulting that your dude and then was beating him up you wouldn't do whatever you could to take advantage of the situation to make sure that that dude that was beating up your man got his comeuppance.
40:38You wouldn't use whatever assets you had at your disposal to make sure to protect your partner. You wouldn't do that.
40:46Sam Roberts:Well, when you put it that way, but you also have to illustrate the history that Maxine and Otis have together. Yeah, but guess what? Come on, babe. Hey, babe, I told you it was bad news. I told you it was bad news. And especially because Otis has the biggest heart and was always genuinely just looking out for Maxine's best interest. Was he? Yes. Or did he have a crush on her? Because he was about to tell Maxine that he had feelings for her. And let me tell you something. When somebody, when the friend is telling you, no, he's not good for you. He's not good for you. Oh, really? Well, then who should I?
41:25I don't know.
41:26Sam Roberts:Well, maybe Maxine didn't just use him the entire time. It's been years. What do you mean you've seen the entire time? The entire time. Remember when she first arrived and joined the Alpha Academy and she had never had a match before and she hit the caterpillar and she points at Otis. Yeah. And she tugged at all of his heartstrings and he was there for her through everything. Why does, no. And she knew. Tugs at heartstrings. She knew that she had some leverage in the situation. she knew that she was in control of Otis's emotions and she still played him like a fiddle well I don't think that I don't think that's the way it happened that's exactly how it happened I don't think that's the way it happened I think I think if you look if you look Austin Theory and Maxine developed a certain chemistry okay they end up falling for each other as these kids will do and then i mean you're not a person that's ever celebrated love you know what i mean what does that even mean well what happened with dominic and live what do you mean what happened with them you've not supported that couple well i haven't supported a lot of their actions that's what i mean you don't i don't support their i mean i support their emotional relationship but the actions that they take against other people a lot of them i don't approve of you don't support love is the thing and that's been a that's been a constant on the show but so to say i mean these two fall for each other right and all of a sudden this person you're supposed to support your friends when they find somebody when they find a partner but i think otis and tozawa they go oh no we're gonna lose our friend because she's found somebody and now they're like well let's stop her progress Let's stop her progress in life.
43:14Let's make it so she just stays in this weird friendship gray area. Instead of being like, yeah, oh, look at her growing and finding a mate, right? Maybe we can all be friends. Maybe whatever. Well, you know what? I don't know. This is going to change the dynamic, but it's best for her. That's not ever how it happened. They said, hey, what's that about? Hey, that guy's bad news, babe. That's what we got. Tozawa over here hating on this thing.
43:40Sam Roberts:or maybe they're still just trying to protect Maxine because they know what people like Maxine's a grown ass woman theory Logan Paul Maxine's an adult woman are all about and they're trying to protect her you need people around you protecting you I don't because you're a grown ass woman okay you don't need people around you protecting you you need the freedom look if you're gonna make a mistake you're gonna make a mistake if I started going like hey Megan I don't mean to interfere in your relationship but you should really you'd be like that's really weird that you're doing this that's way out of line and inappropriate and it's coming across as strange well i think i just saw a side of maxine that i i didn't know existed tonight and um she has she has a ruthless evil side to her i don't know if it's i look i think at a point you do kind of have to set boundaries and be set by the way Maxine tried tried to just talk to Otis and to Zawa and say look I found somebody he said you don't know him you don't know him I found somebody Maxine was not out of line there and they insisted no he's no good he's no good well if he's no good then I'm no good maybe that's how Maxine felt it's all that gel in the hair you don't like because it gets curly it's curly yeah like when Sandy in Grease turned heel that's right in the end but guess what Danny Zuko had the sweater on he takes the sweater right off he's like I'm not wearing this dumb so yeah yeah but guess what guess what when Sandy in Greece turned heel that's when her and Danny finally got to ride off into heaven remember when they got in the car at the end and they rode into heaven for some reason some people think Sandy drowned on the beach at the beginning of the movie and this whole thing was just like a fever dream and that's them going to heaven I don't know for sure but that's Greece that's not raw but what I'm saying is that that's the same thing Maxine is going through right now but are you mean to tell me that Sandy and Danny Zuko were not meant for each other?
45:45Sam Roberts:No, I didn't say that. Because I'll bet there were Sandy's friends going Hey, Sandy. That's bad news, baby. That's T-Bird, baby. That's bad news. Right? Wouldn't they probably said that? Yeah, there was a lot of people saying that to Sandy. But Sandy was meant to be with that T-Bird, wasn't she? All I have to say is as many months ago the greatest female wrestler of all time warned us that Maxine was awfully moody and maybe Otis should have listened. To Becky Lynch? No, Maxine's not moody. I'm so happy for her. She's not moody. Her true colors have shown. She's not moody. Pretty moody if you ask me.
46:22She's annoyed. And what's going on around her? And look, and I'm going to tell you right now, even without Paul Heyman, there's a very weird interaction that The Vision had with Paul Heyman.
46:32Sam Roberts:That's a couple weeks in a row now They've had very weird interactions with Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman saying, you guys did great. You guys did great. Maxine, you're doing so very well. But as good as Maxine did, what the hell do you need me for? And he walked off. It was very, very strange to me to the point. But I mean, I don't, it's been a long time since I've seen the vision this strong as a group. Oh, yeah. I mean, I'd lean in. Clearly they've figured something out. And listen, the sweet girl next door, Maxine, who is friends with Otis and Tozawa, and that's what she was all about. How was she doing?
47:15Sam Roberts:You better shave up. See what I'm saying? Maybe, maybe. But I wonder what Paul Heyman's end goal is here. Why is Paul Heyman, is it tough love? Is he trying to get them to get even better so that he can finally sit down with them and go like, yeah, okay, we're ready to rock? Or is he over it? If I was Austin Theory, I'd look right up Paul Heyman and say, you know what? Screw you, man. You'd say that to Paul Heyman? If I was Austin Theory in this situation? Whoa. Right? That's the oracle. Of course it is. But the way he's treated the vision, I mean, how many weeks ago with it? Two or three weeks ago when Austin Theory went up to Paul Heyman and was like, hey, why didn't you even tell me that you were coming here?
47:58It was the same vibe.
47:59Sam Roberts:Oh, you didn't know? well now you do and then he walked off yeah yeah no it's uh for him to show up and be like what do you need me for like you know what screw you man well look i don't know i don't know maybe they still feel like they need that oracle maybe they still feel like they need the paul hayman magic maybe they still feel everybody wants the paul hayman magic though he's got a really always he's got a great track record this Paul Haven he's got a great track record you know but I don't know look I will tell you this speaking of a great track record we saw Dan Housen tonight very nice very evil and now behind the wheel Dan Housen has a new cursed cruiser t-shirt that uh it's arrived channel your inner curse and add it to your collection today you can grab yours now at WWE Shop and Fanatics.
48:53We also saw LA Knight get his SummerSlam match on Monday Night Raw. Yeah! The newest LA Knight tee is here and ready to make some noise. Let everyone know whose game it is and grab yours today at WWE Shop and Fanatics. LA Knight has that steel chair that he used tonight on Monday Night Raw. And are you surprised that L.A. Knight, after everything, has decided to trust and team? And I know it was just a challenge that was made, but I got some breaking news. There was a graphic.
49:28Sam Roberts:You know what that means. It's official. It is official. Am I surprised? Are you surprised that L.A. Knight has decided to team with Solo Sokoa? It seems very sacrilege given L.A. Knight's history with the bloodline and obsession with this family that now he is teaming with someone who is related by blood to the bloodline. But all that being said, L.A. Knight had really no other choice. And Solo's, I mean, pretty clearly proven it. So tonight we get the rematch between Jimmy Uso and Royce Keys, which once again does not end with Royce Keys winning clean. It's a big disqualification or whatever ending because Jacob Fatu came in.
50:13And just before he's about to crush Royce Keys' head in that steel chair, Solo Sokoa comes out of nowhere, and he says he's decided to join the family. And he stands up, and I was very excited for him.
50:29Sam Roberts:I was too because I've wanted Solo to come home. I want him to come home. But he stands up there. But by the way. And he's Red Suit Solo, which I love Red Suit Solo. I do too, but I've never seen Red Suit Solo with as much backbone as I saw tonight. I mean, he was standing on business tonight for whatever direction he wants to go. And he was standing on business because he put his finger up in the air. And then Jimmy put his finger up in the air. And then Jacob put his finger up in the air. And you saw Solo. all of a sudden shift his finger down and stick that thumb out and I went, oh no. And then he smiled in his solo way, mischievously almost.
51:09And boom, spiked Jimmy Uso to the ground. He wasn't able to spike Jacob. Jacob got that Tongan death grip on, but that's when LA Knight came out and evened the odds a little bit, swinging that steel chair around. The challenge was made. The graphic has come out. Jacob Fatou, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso, which, by the way, even that dynamic is very, very interesting. The fact that, like...
51:35Sam Roberts:Why? Because Jacob doesn't take orders from Jey's punk ass. That's exactly why. That's exactly why. Because he doesn't take orders, especially Jey, from your punk ass. No. No. So to see that, like, I feel like... I feel like in the months that this version of the bloodline has kind of formed, a certain chemistry has developed at least between Jimmy and Jacob. We haven't seen Jey Uso, I want to say, since he lost to Cody in the number one contenders match a week and a half ago. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. So he lost the King of the Ring and that number one contenders match. So it'll be interesting to see when we do see Jey Beck if that plays into it or if he's moving forward and taking care of this connection.
52:24Sam Roberts:We also haven't heard Roman address the J of it all either. Well, I think Roman's got other fish to fry. I mean, he has a lot on his plate right now. And I also think that that's what's interesting about this version of the bloodline, which is kind of, I think what I, maybe we have talked about in the past that I love the idea of the bloodline not being something that is necessarily single task oriented, that you've got all these parts of it and it can do multiple things, meaning that what the Usos and Jacob have going on over here with Royce Keys, LA Knight, and Solo Sokoa really have nothing to do with what Roman has going on with Seth Rollins over here.
53:05Sam Roberts:Yes. That you have, you know, multiple stories, rivalries going on within this group. I also find it fascinating that they're playing into Royce Keys having a deep connection with the family. LA Knight doesn't necessarily have a deep connection with the family, but I mean, he has had a problem with the bloodline since Roman was on that original bloodline run. But Solo obviously being the brother of Jimmy and Jey Uso and Royce Keys being trained by Rikishi. And talking about, he's like, I don't have any family. This is my family. Right. You were my family. Right. and the history clearly that Jacob and Royce have going back I think it's a very interesting dynamic it's not by blood but those two are family yeah but the bloodline is by blood I know and the bloodline is the bloodline you're talking about the Usos and Jacob Fatu you know what I mean I get it you're talking about Royce Keys this guy's the future you're talking about L.A.
54:10Knight who's just waiting for the moment to capitalize on I really like that we're seeing a side of Solo Sokoa where maybe he can show the potential, like show his ability to execute on the potential that we all saw when he was doing things like beating John Cena as a member of that original bloodline. I think this is really good for Solo. I just wonder if he's in too deep with partners that are not blood family.
54:42Sam Roberts:Yeah, and where that leads him. It'll be interesting to see. We did see an incredible gauntlet match on Monday Night Raw. So we start with Dominic Mysterio. How are you feeling about this one? It feels like they did it on purpose. What do you mean they did it on purpose? It feels like they slighted him on purpose. Oh, stop it. I definitely have noticed that there is an agenda where it seems like people like to make life harder for Dominic Mysterio. I think maybe you're the only one who's noticing that. Okay, well, I bet people should be more observant. Dominic Mysterio maybe shouldn't be messing with Dan Housen's laboratory.
55:17It's not a lavatory. Laboratory. You said lavatory.
55:20Sam Roberts:No, I said laboratory. He doesn't work in a laboratory. She said lavatory, didn't she? I did not say. Yeah, yep. Charlie heard you say lavatory. No, I did not. You did. You said maybe you shouldn't mess with Dan Housen's lavatory, which I don't think Dan Housen gets his own lavatory. I think he has to use the same bathroom as everybody else. Unless there's a lavatory. A laboratory. Did he put a lavatory in the cloning machine? Oh my gosh, I misspoke once. How would you like this if I did this to you on our little NXT countdown when you misspoke? You could. I've never misspoken. Never once? Not yet.
55:50It could happen. Just hasn't yet. I'm never talking about people's lavatories. That hasn't come up.
55:57Sam Roberts:Maybe if Dominic Mysterio stopped messing with Dan Housen's laboratory. How does that sound? Laboratory? Is that better? I didn't know what you were talking about. Is that better? That makes more sense. Then maybe things would start to go. Dan House wasn't even in the match. No, but the curse is real. Yeah, but he came out. Listen, first of all, no, I think he was put as the first person in the gauntlet match on purpose. Do you think Adam Pearce is out to get him? Yes. Yes, I do. As a matter of fact, I absolutely. If you could sit here with a straight face and tell me that Adam Pearce doesn't play favorites.
56:32Sam Roberts:Well, come on. I can't do that. Is there anybody that you've witnessed Adam Pearce maybe put in unfair positions? A certain greatest women's wrestler of all time? Okay. All the time. Okay. So it's not necessarily out of Adam Pearce's character. Always puts her in tough positions. Okay. So then you know. Okay. So then we can agree on that. He is the type to do that. We'll just say that. All right. So Dominic lost. Well, he did beat Joe Hendry. He did beat Joe Hendry. and then, I mean, he should have beaten Javon Evans. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. That's right, I suppose. But then Dan Housen comes out and he curses the wrong corner post and he mutters a profanity to himself because he messed up, which people really do.
57:24Did you hear, like, after, like, Night of Champions, people were, like, furious. Like, they were like, the curse is real. And they spoil. And it's like the it's the it's the he messes up constantly all the time.
57:35Sam Roberts:He's supposed to disappear and he can't disappear. He can't disappear. So look at him with all this pomp and circumstance. And he sets off the wrong corner post. And Dominic just looks at the corner post like, why did you do that? And he goes, you go get him, J.D. Now, unfortunately, it did work as a distraction because it meant that J.D. is now going to take care of of Danhausen, which means he's not there to help Dom. and Dom has now given it enough time that Javon Evans is able to sneak one in. And Javon Evans advances through the gauntlet match. An incredible back and forth with he and Dragon Lee.
58:09Sam Roberts:Oh my gosh, I want to see that run back again. Me too. And again. Same exact page. Javon Evans goes through Dragon Lee. Now here comes Rusev. Great back and forth. Javon Evans, a couple of times I thought he had him. He did not. He misses the OG cutter. Accolade is locked in. Javon Evans was able to power out of it once. He was not able to power out of it twice. But Chad Gable comes out next, is able to roll up Rusev. Chad Gable beats Rusev, but Rusev applies that accolade after the fall has already been counted, leaves him in prime position for Ethan Page. But it's not enough. Even after that big boot, it's only a two count.
58:49They keep going. Ankle lock is locked in. Tap, tap, tap. Chad Gable wins and it is official Chad Gable versus Penta, which is like literally where we started for the intercontinental title.
59:05Sam Roberts:Cinema. At SummerSlam. In Chad Gable's home. Yeah. Minnesota. Yes, in Minnesota. In Minnesota. Wow. It's really cool. And Chad Gable has his first chance to win a singles title. Yeah. I mean, it's not his first time. His chance to win his first singles title. Correct. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and to do it at this point in his career in Minnesota, to your point. Yes. Coming off of the mask versus mask. Yeah. And then that excellent gauntlet match. There's a lot to look forward to with Chad Gable and Penta. Absolutely. Absolutely. Now, also, after that gauntlet match, it was made official that because Dan Housen got involved, that at Saturday night's main event, the J.D.
59:54McDonough-Dan Housen match is now a no disqualification match, which means that, you know, I'm sure that there will be power in numbers. I'm sure that Dominic Mysterio will be there. And if there's no disqualification, Dominic Mysterio can be up to any old tricks that he wants to.
1:00:10Sam Roberts:Yeah, but Dan Housen has tricks of his own. Is that what he makes in his lavatory? Next question. Next question. You're right. Dan Housen does have tricks of his own. So, you know, I'm... And friends. Clones. They're not friends. They're clones. This is such a tough spot for you. Because I love Dan Housen. I love... Yeah. I love the Judgment Day. Yes. No, you're right. It's really tough for you. I feel like you're leaning a little Judgment Day. Dom's your number one. I really like Dominic Mysterio. I know. Yeah, yeah. He's a really great wrestler. You can't quit him. No, I really can't. And I don't think I ever will.
1:00:50I really don't think I ever will. But this is the lineup that we got for Saturday night's main event, okay? We have Sami Zayn and Gunther.
1:00:58Sam Roberts:Amazing. Versus Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. Gunther now thrilled about this thing. I mean, he beat Nick Aldis within an inch of his life when this match was announced. I've never seen anything like it. And we don't even know how Sami Zayn feels about it because we haven't seen Sami Zayn since he lost the title. Well, we saw him right after he lost the title. Yeah, that clip on social media? Yes, but that's all we've seen from Sami Zayn. So maybe on Friday, we'll get more from Sami Zayn. But we got this massive tag team match happening at Saturday night's main event. Announced today, Roman Reigns is going to be at Saturday night's main event in the world's most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.
1:01:38And he has invited Jalen Brunson to be his guest. Jalen Brunson, of course, star of the New York Knicks, your 2026 NBA champions, will be in the house, and also a massive WWE fan, will be in the house with Roman Reigns. That's going to be so, so cool to see. Like I said, the J.D. McDonough-Dan Housen no disqualification match. We'll have the Women's Tag Team Championship on the line with Paige and Brie Bella versus Fatal influence and a match that was made tonight. Bailey called Lyra out. Lyra had some very unkind things to say about Bailey calling her a doormat.
1:02:21Sam Roberts:Said she was the worst of the four horsewomen. That's tough. That's a tough pill to swallow. She said that Bailey's held her down. Lyra Valkyria's sweater looked like a doormat that she was wearing. It looked like a literal doormat. I'm not saying that's a negative or positive. It's just that's what it looked like. And so it's ironic that she would say that about Bailey. But I'm sorry, Lyra. She's making, we see that face pops up. She doesn't know why I would say that. She's scowling at me. Why would you say that? That's not what this looks like. But I didn't mean that, Lyra. She's going through it right now.
1:02:56She's going through it. I think Bailey needs this victory.
1:03:00Sam Roberts:I think she absolutely needs this victory. I think she needs this victory. I think Lyra said a lot of funky stuff about Bailey. And I think that she needs this victory. So we'll see if she can pull it off at Saturday night's main event. But the big news is you and I will be there for Saturday night's main event.
