In short
WWE Now’s Raw recap focuses on the SummerSlam main-event build between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, plus Monday Night Raw’s Hell in a Cell setup and Raw’s title changes.
Guests
Sam Roberts and Megan Morant (hosts/commentators). No other guests appear as interview subjects in the transcript.
Key claims
- Seth Rollins “suckers” Roman Reigns again by weaponizing Roman’s family/fatherhood emotions, referencing WrestleMania 31’s cash-in and Roman’s children (“dad”).
- Seth’s psychological manipulation is portrayed as Roman’s weakness; Seth repeatedly baited Roman into chair/physical retaliation.
- Hell in a Cell is framed as a no-escape stipulation: Brock Lesnar is kept outside while Oba Femi and others are locked in, to prevent Brock from interfering early.
Notable examples
- Seth presenting his back for Roman to strike with a steel chair; Roman hesitates and gets emotional.
- Oba Femi (302 lbs) vs Brock Lesnar (303 lbs) inside the Hell in a Cell cage.
- Raquel Rodriguez wins the women’s Intercontinental Championship from Sol Ruca using the Tejana bomb, with Judgment Day involvement; Danhausen/Joe Hendry musical segment interrupted by Judgment Day and Ryan Garcia.

1:22That flavor's just out of reach. Drop the Legos and bring the juice. Geez. We have a new women's intercontinental champion, Seth Rollins suckers Roman Reigns in yet again. Obafemi locked inside of a cell full of police officers. And Dan Housen and Joe Hendry give us a musical interlude. This is the Raw Recap on WWE Now, a WWE and Fanatics original production.
2:02And here we are. Sam Roberts, Megan Morant, Raw recap on WWE Now, coming to you right after Monday Night Raw. And what a Monday Night Raw. By the way, shout out to everybody that's listening on the podcast feeds. Yes. Shout out to everybody that's watching on YouTube. And shout out to everybody that for the first time is getting to hear us in this fashion on WWE Radio on Sirius XM Channel 156. Oh, what an exciting time. Exciting time. WWE Radio, we're so happy to be a part of that. Mm-hmm. Here with a raw recap on WWE now. I can't wait. Yeah, it's great. It's great. Well, you won't have to, luckily you don't have to wait because we're literally doing it right now.
2:46Right now. Yeah, which is huge, which is massive. Speaking of massive, I've got to tell you, I loved that Seth Rollins tonight leaned all the way into the fact that this is not necessarily the story of a good guy versus a good guy. As far as Seth and Roman Reigns goes. What will, I hope, be the main event for Sunday at SummerSlam, Rollins and Reigns. Seth, I feel like, you know, we talked about it every single week. and judging who are the winners and who are the losers. And more often than not, at least verbally, I have felt that Roman Reigns has been the winner in these segments. I think that Seth finally leaned all the way in to what he has on Roman Reigns.
3:39And it's that vulnerability. It's that desire. Roman Reigns prides himself on, I don't want to say being non-emotional, but being very controlled. Okay, yes. And Seth is the guy that Roman can't do that with because foundationally, Seth is the guy that taught Roman Reigns the first lesson of betrayal. And instead of Seth Rollins, specifically tonight, going, I'm a different guy. That's not me. I've paid my penance. He goes in. he brings up WrestleMania 31, the cash-in, and a part of that cash-in that we don't talk about, which is Roman Reigns' family being at ringside. And Roman Reigns' family, and there were reports about it at the time, whatever it was, 12 years ago at this point, being legitimately upset about what had happened because they thought that this would be the crowning moment for Roman.
4:44And not only does he bring that up knowing it's a sensitive issue, but then he brings it forward to what could happen at SummerSlam. And when he doesn't just say family, he says, he refers to Roman as dad, meaning that he's talking about Roman's children. He's pushing that button. Because he knows just how important family is to Roman Reigns and how Roman has brought that up time and time again. It's not just putting food on the table of the family that's currently sitting around the table, but generations and generations to come. And Seth wants to put a stop to that and embarrass Roman in front of the people he loves the most.
5:33I think it's not even that deep with Seth. I think it's Seth just saying the things that would upset Roman Reigns. I think that's literally all it is. I mean, Roman has almost laid the blueprint out for him. I don't want this to turn into pop quiz time. But do you remember when Roman was being criticized for missing shows? Of course. Do you remember what Roman said he was doing when he was missing shows? Spending time with his family. He was exactly right. He was at home being a father. How can you criticize a man who wants to spend more time with his family? I'm going to be a father first. And Seth said, okay, you pride yourself on being a father.
6:09And I swear, Roman, of course, resource to physicality, Superman punch, spear. But we've seen this before. If you know the history of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, and they've been telling us every week on Raw, the history of Roman Reigns and Seth freaking Rollins. You know what Seth is doing. He's willing to take that spear. He's willing to take that Superman punch. Did you see how Seth Rollins was climbing up the ropes at the end of the segment? Of course. Did you see what was facing Roman Reigns? A steel chair. Seth's back. Seth, I mean, we've seen it. It was WrestleMania 40 all over again.
6:52Seth knowing. He's baiting him. Of course. He's baiting him with the back, and then Roman goes to grab the chair, and he hesitates and gets emotional, it seems, about the significance. It's going to be so fulfilling to crack this guy with that chair. And even on Raw, when they were going back to WrestleMania 40 and looking at that part in the little chapters that they're showing. Oh, that was such a great look back. Roman, for the first time, saying, I don't regret. Seth Rollins, by being that distraction, by putting his back to me and by me hitting Seth with that chair. It cost him four years.
7:29Yeah, it took away the whole four years, which I feel like is an overstatement. It still exists as a four years, but he's saying because he lost the title in that moment, it took it all away, but he doesn't regret it because he got to hit Seth Rollins with that chair. So Seth knowingly presents his back to Roman Reigns and you could hear him. Come on, come on. He's looking at the screen again so he can see Roman behind him. Come on. I mean, Seth is like 3D chessing Roman Reigns here. Again, to the point where it has less and less, like I feel like in the first promo, which Seth now openly says, when I first suckered you into this match.
8:10See, when we first saw that first sort of like, we need to do this, brother, even LA Knight coming out and criticizing it. Brother, brother, brother, brother, brother, brother. It felt like it was like, we need to do this one more time. We're not going to have much more time to do it. We got to have one more big match. And it felt like Seth wanted it as much as Roman. And now that tune has changed where Seth is like, no, no, no, no, no. I've manipulated this whole thing. And now that we're six days from the match itself, Seth is almost testing to see if his old tricks work. And they work to a T.
8:46And this is why Seth is such a thorn in the side of Roman Reigns. because that's what Roman can't beat. When we talk about like Roman can't beat Seth Rollins in a championship match, Roman has never beaten Seth Rollins on a PLE, whatever. Like I think Michael Cole says like Roman's never beaten Seth Rollins in a big time match. But what Roman's never beaten is that psychological thing, that ability that Seth has, that he knows what the weakness is. Seth's ability to manipulate Roman Reigns and Seth's the only one that can do it. Well, Seth said it. He was like, listen, I'm not, some people were born on third base.
9:27Some people have to work for everything that they've gotten, but I'm not taking anything away from you, Roman. Okay. You are the biggest star in the industry. You are the head of the table. You are the OTC. You are everything everybody says you are. There are so many areas where you are far better than me, but there's one thing you'll never have on me. And that's my ability to be a professional wrestler. and Seth brings up the mind games. I mean, yeah, I say he's smarter than Roman, but also like that narrative, Seth's road to getting to WWE was different from Roman Reigns. Seth spent time on the independents.
10:05Seth developed a name for himself before he was in WWE. Then Seth got to WWE. Roman was playing football, had family lineage, got to the developmental in a different way. But once both of them were out of developmental, Once both of them were on the main roster, it's not like it's exactly a tale of two cities. It's not like Seth Rollins didn't also get a ton of opportunity. It's not like, I mean, Seth is the one that won the WWE championship at WrestleMania 31. That's right. It's not like Seth was lacking in the opportunity department. So even that, I feel like I'd love to know if Seth actually feels that way or it's just this sort of narrative concocted to bring us to wherever we're going to get at SummerSlam.
10:53Because I'll tell you, for the first time, definitely in this rivalry, but for the first time in I don't know how long, I start, and this is the power of Seth. when Seth is good, Seth is good. And I started, and it wasn't a full feeling. It wasn't a, okay, this is how I'm going to define this. But there was this sort of underlying thematic, I don't know, vibe where I was like, Roman is shifting into being the underdog here. Like, and I couldn't believe it. Like on paper, you'd go, okay, Roman goes to this PLE and beats this guy. Roman goes here, he beats him. If Roman's on the show, Roman wins.
11:43That's the way it's been. And when Seth completely took control of the whole segment. I mean, from the get-go, right? Cutting Roman off before Roman can even have Los Angeles acknowledge him. And Roman loves that part. Yes, and everybody loves that part. but then making his way to the ring and seth is the one who asks the crowd to acknowledge him right to take it away from roman i mean seth owned the segment and roman thinks he's won at that point because he goes see he doesn't know he's an a-hole yeah you know what i mean because he leans into it he's like i know when it comes to the two of us when it comes to me and you roman reigns i'm the bad guy guilty i'm the bad guy guilty is charged and seth leaned into all of that and I think in doing so allowed him to eventually as the segment progressed go from turning his back to Roman Reigns while Roman Reigns is about to put a chair in his back to turning that into a stump and it's just so interesting because whenever Roman I mean it's one thing if like when Roman was spearing like CM Punk for example and CM Punk was kind of laughing after it see I made you spear me it's like that's not the flex that you think it is dude you get spirit you're on the ground you're grabbing your ribs i don't know i don't know if you know like seth has has this clear and direct game plan yes and i feel like i don't know what it is specifically about this week but it was really i felt like seth fully found himself and maybe it started at saturday night's main event when he came in with tyrese halliburton and there were those that were like that was a lot of NBA but like the fact that Seth was willing to go into Madison Square Garden with one of the biggest heels in that building and fully embrace being the bad guy okay I'm not going to get the OTC chance I'm not going to get the cheers that's fine because Roman's just not going to beat me Seth is not looking to beat Roman so that he can become Roman.
13:51Seth is looking to beat Roman so that Roman can't fully be Roman. And to get the title back that he never lost. Sure. Of course. Of course. But I think it's beyond that at this point. I think it's almost the award and the way they were talking tonight specifically, because that title has been a part of the story, you know, for the last few weeks. but tonight specifically it really felt like it's but when roman started talking about the fact that the industry needs me to beat you yes i'm the and and it felt like roman like forgot where he was for a second when he starts going i'm the only real superstar i'm the only one and he's sitting there going like the industry needs a superstar and there's only one of me left seth you can talk You can talk about pro wrestling all you want.
14:43You can talk about work rate all you want. There's one superstar left and it's me. That's why, and I think that that is the idea that this Roman has, that why does Roman feel like he has to beat Seth? And it's not just because he hasn't done it. And it's not just because he wants his family to see him do it. And it's not just because of all that. It's because if Roman wants to go to bed at night knowing that he's the only superstar left in the industry, then he can't have any of those question marks. And Seth being that one floating question mark. And it does go back, man. You can go through and everybody during that OG bloodline era, that four-year run as champion.
15:33He beat everybody. Everyone. interference, whatever it was, he beat them all. Except he didn't beat Seth. He got himself disqualified at the Royal Rumble. That was their one big PLE title match, and he got himself disqualified. And you could feel it. He did this thing. This is the thing that Roman does. This is the thing, Roman, this is how you know that it bugs Roman? Just a slight crack in the neck. Yeah, he cracks his neck. When he cracks his neck, he doesn't like what you said. That's what he does. He's like, he'll smile when you'll say something. like he doesn't care I don't care, I don't care and he's like, you can get yourself disqualified again and he cracks his neck really takes a long deep breath in when he cracks the neck and he grits his teeth a little bit that's when he's bothered, that's when Roman is unhappy and Seth got him there and then unless you want him to spear you because there's a nine step plan here and just when you think okay I've beaten the plan And that's the thing.
16:35Like, Seth is like, no, no, no. I'm going to get you here. I'm going to get you here. And honestly, I don't think that I've enjoyed a Seth Rollins like this since WrestleMania 40. Wow. The build to WrestleMania 40, when all the attention in the world was on Cody and Roman, the final boss, and this whole story that was going on. And Seth was right there. but Seth was this foundational psychological part of the story that the story needed to have and so much of what Seth was doing was not noticed and was not seen until it all culminated in that end of that main event of WrestleMania 40 and it's like this thing where Seth is every time you get him he knows that you're going to get him and his plan is for what's right after this.
17:28Yeah, but I'm going to get him right after this. Yeah, I knew you were going to get me right after this because my plan's over here. It's like when Seth has everything so well calculated out. Right, and he'll sacrifice himself. That's right. He'll sacrifice his body like at 40 when he's limping to the ring going, okay, I'm going to be done after tonight. But that's after tonight. He's been operating on this level for a couple months now. I mean, I think back to the vision with Heyman when Heyman walked right into the trap and ended up going, getting speared through the barricade, right? And Seth had thought every single scenario out and watched it unfold right in front of him.
18:06And that's what I really like about Seth. And it's surprising to me because everybody knows me by this point. And I don't think any... That's why I think that's what people are wondering. Do we really know him? Do we really know Sam Roberts? Do we know him? We thought we knew him. Let's find out right now on the now. Yeah, that's what the now is all about. Do we know Sam Roberts? Because everybody would say this. Oh, what's going to happen? Roman and Seth, main event a segment, and Sam goes on the pod and just starts blowing smoke for Roman again. And what did you do? No, you're blowing smoke for Seth.
18:39Because I really - Wow, we really don't know you. That's what I'm saying. Like, I really finally felt like Seth found this spot where he's not sitting there. like this is a Seth Rollins match as much as it is a Roman Reigns match as of tonight. Yes. As of it changed, it shifted in that segment. I agree with that. Because there was so much in there. Like I, now that we're talking about it, now I want to go back and watch the segment again and pick up on all the little things going on. Because the more I think about it, that's part of the fun of doing this immediately after watching the show. Because like now I'm starting, now I'm replaying it as we're talking about it.
19:21And it was, I mean, Seth was masterful. Roman was great. Of course. But Roman's always great. Seth knew Roman was going to be great. I felt like Seth brought this rivalry to a new level tonight when he brought up WrestleMania 31 and when he brought up Roman's family. When he said that they're going to find out their daddy is a fraud. For me, it was. And their daddy is a loser. And their daddy is Seth Rollins' B. He said the B word. He just said the B word. Yeah, yeah, I mean, and that was it. But yeah, I too, I mean, I was on the radio earlier today going like, the thing that I'm looking for in this segment is to bring it to that final level before SummerSlam.
20:07Make me feel this match in my blood. And they did it. And I needed it specifically from Seth. I needed to see not, because Seth, was, in my opinion, up until tonight, treating Roman like a big brother instead of a brother. And tonight was no more big brother, little brother. Tonight was, I've got you. I've got my number on you. And I don't know if this whole thing was a mind game or if we've just shifted into a new gear now. But whatever gear we're in, this is where I've needed it to be. You felt the same way? Absolutely. I mean, right from the beginning, right from the beginning. With the acknowledge me?
20:55The acknowledge me, and then Roman calls him an a-hole, and Seth leans into that whole part. He says, you know what? Yeah, I am the bad guy. Yeah, maybe I am. When it comes to you and I, I am. You're right. He just took ownership of that, and he kept digging deeper, and then he sets Roman up to a place where Roman has nothing to do but retaliate and grab the chair. Seth, again. I knew you were going to do it. He knew he was going to go for the chair. He knew the chair was going to make Roman emotional. Yeah. It was almost like that eight-mile thing, right? Yeah. Where he went out there and he's like, I'm not here to get the reaction.
21:38I'm not here to compete with you for support of the fans. I'm not here to chase the hug, as they say. I'm not here for any of that. I'm here to get inside your kitchen. I'm here to mess with you. That's exactly what you did. And I'm here to put myself in the position to win at SummerSlam. Yeah, it got me pretty pumped. I'll just say pumped. I'll just say this. For me, I thought Seth and Roman brought the juice. Speaking of bringing the juice, I got to tell you, before we get back to Monday Night Raw, we got to talk about the main event that's happening, not at SummerSlam, but in your own home.
22:13Look, life is basically SummerSlam every single day. A high stakes gauntlet where the responsibilities just keep coming. It feels like you're constantly making trade-offs between the things you have to do and the things you actually love. That's why we're celebrating those moments where you refuse to tap out. It's time for the Minute Maid Juice Break where we highlight those everyday wins that deserve a massive pop. And I got to tell you, I know already. I know. It's a little thing, but it goes a long way. I'm at home on Sunday, finishing my dinner, you know? And I joined the Clean Plate Club.
22:59Sunday supper. Little Barry Horowitz pat on the back for me. Clean Plate Club. Not too shabby. not too shabby and I'm bringing my plate in right and I put my plate in the sink in the kitchen and then I walk back towards the living room and I stop right there I said you know I could just leave it somebody out leave it for someone else to deal with it you know but I need to say you know what I'm not gonna I'm not gonna tap out on on this little on this little life battle I'm not tapping out. I'm going to do the right thing. And I turn myself around and I got my plate out of the sink and I put it in the dishwasher.
23:40I put my plate in the dishwasher. So that way, I don't know who turns it on. My wife, one of the kids, I don't know. It just turns on. I have no idea. But that way when the dishwasher turns on, it will be in there and nobody has to move my plate from the sink into the dishwasher. Just a little, a little victory. I put in a little extra effort and I think it, I think it makes a big difference. That's a great one. Uh, thank you. Helping the whole family out. I think so. Yeah, I think so. And you didn't tap out too. I'm really proud of you. You know, similarly for me, I was out on my morning, my morning jog.
24:17As we all know, I am training for the Olympics. Okay. And, um, I was coming up the home stretch. I have to go up a big hill on the way back it's always it's always quite taxing but i can handle it and when i get to the top of the hill okay i saw um this little old woman and she was really struggling it was hot it was it was a hot morning already you could tell the sun was beaten down yeah and um she was having a little bit of trouble crossing the street she had one of those uh the little scooters and And the scooter wasn't working. A rascal? Yeah, it was, I guess you could call it a rascal if you want.
24:56But the scooter wasn't working. And this woman, you know, she was struggling and she needed to get to the other side of the street. And now I could have just turned the headphones up and kept on with my run and pretended like I didn't hear anything. But I said, no, I can't tap out like that. I can't tap out to these inconveniences of life. I have to stop and help this woman. Right. So since the scooter wasn't working and I was worried about her walking across the street on a hot day, I just picked her up and I carried her to the other side of the road. She got where she needed to be safely. A minor inconvenience during my run.
25:34Ridiculous. But I was able to help the woman get across the street. You didn't push the scooter. You picked her up. I picked her up. And carried her across the street from one. Yes. with those arms you picked her up is that an insult yes I'm just saying they don't look like you're picking up humans and crossing the street with them future Olympian for running not for power lifting Olympian future you carried an old lady from one corner to the other yes
26:08I thought mine was a little bit more in the spirit of what this is supposed to be but
26:16Minute Maiden WWE are tag teaming your daily grind You picked her out of the scooter Yes Bringing main event energy to life's everyday matches Together We're turning the toughest rounds into moments worth cheering for It's exactly the same thing that we both did from the ring to real life real real life is where you pick the old lady up that's real life yes minute maid and WWE are here to help you bring the juice when the day tries to tap you out never tap out on taste bring the juice I was supposed to be in unison with the American Express platinum card I can unlock experiences like no other Since I'm always booking my next trip, I love that I can earn points on travel.

And I love the Hell in a Cell music.
28:38You know, it made me actually, I was watching what was going on in the ring, and it gave me inspiration. You think I should start growing my hair in like Triple H? I don't. Do you think he and I, you think I could grow it? I can't believe that dude's been bald this whole time just voluntarily. You know what I mean? That he could just grow in a full hairline whenever he wanted to. Anytime. Anytime. I mean, that's insane to me. Like, I had no idea that that was still, that anybody did that. And he's just like, you know what, what if I grew my hair in? Like, it's not an option for all of us. H? Like, I, just looking at him with that forehead of hair, I go, where did that come from?

29:16When did that happen? Where did that come from? And that happened quickly because he's on screen often. Yeah. It's all that testosterone. I guess so. Flowing through that body of his. Taking care of himself. Come on. It's incredible. Wow. Speaking of testosterone, Oba comes to the ring and he weighs in at 302 pounds. Of straight muscle because he looked ripped. Ripped. Ripped. Ready for hell in a cell. And then here comes Brock Lesnar. And Brock Lesnar is up to his tricks alongside Paul Heyman. Brock shows up and immediately locks the hell in a cell. Locks the door shut. Puts the key in his mouth.
29:56And puts the key in his mouth. Which I mean, because then it's like, I mean, if you're an official going, hey, Brock, give me the key. And Brock's like, why don't you grab it? It's like, no, no, I'm going to lose a hand. It will be done. So Brock locks up the cage and locks Oba and Adam Pearce and Triple H and the security and police officers all inside the thing. While Paul Heyman explains what's happened. And from Paul Heyman's perspective, he says that the reason that he did that was because it's a bad idea to have Brock Lesnar inside the cell. He says that he locked, that they're not necessarily locking everybody inside, that they're locking Brock outside.
30:39Because the last thing you want to do. This is a safety precaution for everybody. Yes, is put a beast inside that cell. They're just trying to protect the integrity of the match at SummerSlam. Right. don't and and and paul hayman has has done that before making sure that they don't touch until the money moment the fight at summer slam i was worried hayman was going to touch whoever was in charge of audio well yeah i mean slipping paul hayman bad microphones is not the smartest thing in the world no but i mean brock and again we go back to seth and roman the mind games being played Brock just kind of standing outside that cell laughing at Oba.
31:20And Oba, I mean, in the position, like, how did we let him put us in this position? In Oba, this is antagonizing him so much. Yeah. Because ever since Brock Lesnar delivered those seven F5s to Oba Femi, Oba has been just asking for Brock Lesnar. Yeah. Calling him a coward, saying he always runs away. And you know what Brock does? He goes, okay, I'm not going to get anywhere near you. If you say so. If you say so, that's fine. I'm going to stand right here outside of Hell in a Cell and watch you get enraged in that cage. Yeah, and I mean, it does make you wonder if that's a sound philosophy. If an enraged Obafemi is somehow more beatable.
32:07Doesn't it feel that way to me? No, because did you see the way he tossed all of those security guards? Every security guard, every officer. I mean, Adam Pearce and Triple H luckily got out of there before Obafemi really started throwing people around. He broke that scale into pieces. I mean, he was furious. Brock Lesnar's outside the cage, flipping him off. And then Paul Heyman goes, by the way, we weighed Brock Lesnar in the back right before we got out here. He's 303 pounds. You believe him? The irony, huh? I mean, they look about it. 302 for Oba, 303. 303. Brock, as it turns out, is 303. Crazy.
32:43I mean it really it's funny how that works isn't it really just like adding like just a little salt in the wound yeah he's actually 303 he's actually 303 we just weighed him so you can put that on your little notepad I mean I this is one that I can't wait for and Oba I love the point that Oba brought up which was like because you go a lot of times with a Hell in a Cell match or a Cage match historically traditionally traditionally you're going into that thing going what's the purpose of it right why do these two need to be locked inside that cage and you go back to what Oba has been saying about Brock Lesnar since two nights after clash in Italy which is Brock Lesnar is a coward Brock Lesnar runs away and for me I thought what are we going to see on Raw tonight are we going to see like maybe Oba and Brock end up in some kind of brawl that goes across, you know, the arena.
33:41And so that way it justifies the hell in a cell by saying, look, we're going to lock these two in this cell so the match has to take place at ringside. But no, I felt like it all like came together in that moment where it's like the cell is there so that nobody can run away. And it is interesting because Brock is the one who set the stipulation. Right. And Oba's the one since the night, two nights after Clash in Italy, after he took those seven F5s, Oba's been calling Brock out for running and hiding. And now there's no more running. And Oba's point, and it goes to the same principle, I think, was looking right at Brock Lesnar and go, okay, good, keep having your games.
34:19Keep having fun right now. Keep playing games. But it's not going to be me locked in here with you. You're going to be locked in here with me. and that's a big big difference and i'm very this is one of those where it's like i don't think either one of them is entering hell in a cell looking for an escape no you know what i mean i think both of them have different strategies walking in but both of them are walking in because they want to be locked in there with their opponent and i wonder if both will walk out well they're definitely not going to both be standing no you know they like this is going to be an absolute battle amongst two behemoths yes i mean it's it's it's it's i i cannot wait for this one and watching obafemi just throw human beings in every direction inside of that cage i I mean, I don't know who the referee is who pulled the short straw to be the referee of the Hell in a Cell match.
35:28But I don't even know if you need a referee in that cell. This is going to be one of those matches. I don't think it's safe to have a referee. That's right. This is going to be one of those matches where the result, the only way we're going to get a result in this match is that it's going to be crystal clear. You don't need a referee's license to know. Everybody watching this match. I don't think that there will be any debate after this match. regardless whether either one of them wins. I don't think there's going to be any debate as to which one was the real winner. It will be definitive. I agree with you 100%.

Because we got that six-man match with Big Jim, his brother Jay, Jacob Fatu against Royce Keys, L.A. Knight, yeah, and Solo Sokoa. Oh, I can't wait for it. I can't wait. Pro Sphere on Fanatics is gear built for every member of the WWE universe. And before we get to that six-man tag, I want to talk about the fact that we have a new women's intercontinental champion.
37:41How about it? Big mommy cool Raquel Rodriguez. First time she's become a singles champion in WWE. That's correct. Since NXT. Yes, absolutely. She was NXT Women's Champion. But on the main roster, first singles championship, Raquel Rodriguez defeats Sol Ruka. Has to be very demoralizing. I did not see this coming. For Sol Ruka. I mean, she had a tidal wave of success coming off of NXT onto the main roster, winning the Intercontinental Championship. She made a splash. Oh, man. Some people would say. That's so good. A tidal wave of success and made a splash. Splash. Honestly, I wish I had, but you did.
38:23It was awesome. This is where you find this. On the now. Yeah, only on the now. Who'd she beat for the Intercontinental title? Do you remember? There was some questionable officiating in the match. Kind of your job to know. Yeah, she defeated Becky Lynch. Oh, that's right. She defeated Becky Lynch. She defeated Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch. And she disappeared after that, Becky Lynch. Did she? Haven't seen her since. She's very busy. Selling coffee. A lot of coffee. Writing books. She's writing more books? Raising a child. She could be. Fighting injustices. I saw a video of her today at the Boys and Girls Club.
39:04Becky Gives Back. I didn't realize you were just listing things that she could be doing. She could be writing another book. I would buy it. I would read it. I Am the Greatest by Becky Lynch. I don't think anybody is wondering If you would read another book by Becky Lynch No? You don't think so? I don't think anybody was like I wonder if Megan Morant would read that I wonder if that's something Megan would like to read Well just in case they were I will be reading it Maybe she'd be listening to the audio book While she's carrying old women across the street Could be Could be That's the world we live in No I did see a video today of Becky Lynch At a boys and girls club Well, we're not talking about Becky Lynch.
39:45We're talking about Sol Ruka. What a good person. Giving back. Well, she got nothing else to do. She lost the Intercontinental title to Sol Ruka, who has now lost the Intercontinental title to Raquel Rodriguez. And it was very like Nelson on The Simpsons. I feel like Raquel hit this moment in the match where she goes, you made me bleed my own blood. And as soon as that happened, Raquel was just a different animal in there. Just, I mean, clobbering Sol Ruka. Just not happy about the wound. Now, we talked a lot about Sol Ruka's athleticism. I think for a while, we underestimated Raquel's size. Big mommy cool.
40:29And then after she hit the Tejana bomb on John Cena, I think it awoken a beast within Raquel. And tonight, similarly, she looked at her own blood. she remembered that this is Big Mommy Cool who hit the Tejana bomb on John Cena and she just started throwing Sol Ruka around. You love that? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love when Raquel remembers her size and uses those muscles, right? A little of aggression. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Good. Yeah, yeah. Do you think that Sol Ruka takes any sort of, I don't know, any sort of positivity over the fact that the move that did her in and ended her reign is the same move that did in John Cena I mean it should make her the same move that lost Sol Ruka's Intercontinental Championship lost John Cena's Intercontinental Championship when it's time to have somebody lose the Intercontinental Championship be it the men's or the women's we got to bring Raquel in with the Tejana bomb time that's right and then a little bit of help from Roxanne Perez right by the way same thing for john cena that's i know she did same thing for john cena eoskye was not involved in that live morgan also involved absolutely absolutely so if soul needs to feel better about losing her intercontinental title all she has to do is just listen to us break it down on the now that's right and relate it to john cena losing the intercontinental title i think the judgment day went back and said we're gonna run the john cena play that's a good play we're gonna run john cena hey that play undefeated worked every time they've run it yeah what are we doing tonight we're gonna run jc great what's the play jc because we do you're right i mean at one so raquel comes out i'm sorry raquel's in the match roxanne comes out she's ultimately just a distraction for live morgan to get involved who gets stopped by eo sky but resourceful as they are this judgment day the minute there's that that that friction between live morgan and eo sky and your referee jessica carr is not my referee is distracted my referee hashtag not my referee i guess i've been misinformed is distracted by that all of a sudden roxanne goes now it's my shot ruins what i thought was going to be a soul snatcher and boom raquel is right there bloody face and all to hit that Tejana bomb.
43:00One, two, three. Raquel stands strong with fireworks blasting behind her. The Judgment Day members by her side, which you said the Judgment Day was going to break up. The Judgment Day members by her side as the new women's intercontinental champion. And it really does. Maybe it's because I'm in my Judgment Day purple, but it really does just feel so right. and you said they were going to break it well can i tell you something that i was thinking might happen during the match oh my god i can i guess well does it have to do with people not actually being friends well it's it's a little complicated and i actually if you listen i filled in for you last week on the radio and i laid out this whole situation on women's wednesday where we talk about women's wrestling for at least the second hour right and i talked to be so negative No, it's fantastic.
43:53People really like it. The phones were lighting up for Women's Wednesday. And they were just saying this. But I laid out this whole scenario talking about this Intercontinental Championship. And as we've seen, you know, a couple of moments of tension within the Judgment Day, whether it be between Liv Morgan and Roxanne, or as I was reminded on Unreal, how Liv Morgan eliminated Raquel Rodriguez from the Royal Rumble. But I was like, oh, that's been brought to my attention again. What if? That's so funny that Unreal brought that to your attention again. I was obsessed with it for a while. Months.
44:30For a while. It was months. You wouldn't stop talking about it. I just let it go. Right. And then it came back to me. And so I was thinking, I was like, oh my gosh, Raquel has an Intercontinental Championship match on Monday. What if the Judgment Day gets so involved that they cause a disqualification just as Raquel is about to win. And then what if at SummerSlam, Raquel turns on Liv Morgan? So the whole match tonight, I was like, oh my God, Liv's going to cause a disqualification. She's going to cause a disqualification. And then I realized I'm just, I'm just a hater. Yeah. I mean, just so seeing families together and just be happy together that you don't like that.
45:11Well, I did like it. I did like it tonight, but that was like my theory going in. I thought, oh my gosh, this is going to lead to a disqualification. Then we're going to get more attention. Then maybe that carries over to SummerSlam. What's going to create friction and negativity? But instead, we just have a new intercontinental champion. And we have more gold than the Judgment Day. And they seem to be firing on all cylinders. Yeah. Like, what if she just wins? Here's an idea. She wins the belt. That's right. How about that? That's right. But yeah, I was anticipating maybe a disqualification. Of course you were.
45:45Of course you were. But hey, listen. I'm happy for Raquel. I'm happy for the judgment. The judgment day needed something to go their way. Can you just agree with me on that? The judgment day had a lot of things going their way tonight. Tonight? Tonight. Which is good because before tonight, things were not looking good for the judgment. The judgment day has been a faction for 18 years. Okay. I think it is about 18 years. I don't think that math adds up. There's going to be, is it 18 years? It is. Okay. The control room is telling me it is indeed 18 years. there's going to be ebbs and flows when a faction's around for 18 years i think it has has it they're saying yes both yeah more actually a little bit more 18 and a half is what it is 18 and a half they're telling me yeah and there's going to be ebbs and flows and you just kind of have to uh you kind of have to deal with that but they had it they had a great a great night because they interrupted dan hausen and joe hendry's uh musical performance and i think ryan garcia might have joined the judgment day.
46:46Yeah, it looked that way. He did a little bait and switch there. It looked like, oh, Ryan Garcia, he's out there with Joe Hendry and Dan Housen and then bam. Well, so we have this fever dream of a concert. I don't understand why this happened, but this fever dream of a concert. I believe that you are cursed. Right, right. Where it starts with Joe and he's singing and playing guitar. and then Dan Housen starts playing the organ. And then, which I think I might have said on the radio today, I wonder if Dan Housen's going to play the organ because most of what Dan Housen does, I thought he would do like a cover of like the Munsters theme.
47:29Yeah, I don't want to go any further because, you know, that's IP. Yeah, that's right. Tunga's in trouble. That's right. But then he came around and yeah, they did the vocals together. saying, yeah, I guess I believe that you are cursed. And I'm like, what is going on? And then here come the Clippers dancers. And then the Minnie Housens. Oh, I forgot about, I'm sorry, yes. The Minnie Housens. The Minnie Housens who live under the ring. You know, that has been like a real big bright spot in our life. I thought the Minnie Housens were just kind of going to be like a one-off thing. They keep reappearing.
48:03Well, do you remember? Do you remember when we interviewed Dan Housen right after, they debuted at Backlash, right? Yeah. But remember when we interviewed him and I said, well, where do they go now? And he was like, I don't know. No idea. Yeah, they're just here now. Because they made them out of a cloning machine. But now they just exist. Like you can't, they don't just disappear. You can't put them back in the machine. That's true, you can't. That's why like Karl-Anthony Towns exists. Yeah, you can't put. He just exists now. Because he came from the cloning machine at Saturday Night's Main Event.
48:33And so he exists. And now the Minnie Danhausen just live under the ring. I think Charles Robinson packs him up at the end of every show and just puts him on the truck. I think that's how it works. I mean, we'll have to get next time we have Charles Robinson on the now. We'll have to ask him. I think Charles Robinson. He's been on before. And he come on again to explain this to us. I'm sure I think he wraps him up in the canvas and he puts him on the truck. And then, you know, when they get there early, they unroll the canvas. Oh, I forgot all these mini houses were still here. And they just kind of roll under the ring.
49:04I think they go back to sleep. You know what I mean? And they build the ring around them. and then you know if there's a need for them they'll pop out and if not the show will just go on and you'll never know that they were ever there is my understanding and then charles packs them up again they go the next time it's a piece of the ring you know so that's my understanding of how it works but yes uh ryan garcia joined the conga line of this clippers dancers they were in the into it dome you know and uh and then ryan garcia jumped in the ring and he was like you guys just do your thing and keep performing i'm just gonna be here and they were like that's cool then he hits joe hendry with a guitar and then jd mcdonough and dominic mysterio come out and they beat up dan hausen and they beat up joe hendry and and and and garcia and the judgment day they stand firm they stand together we go back to the laboratory with dan hausen and uh uh they're they're they're checking on the mini housings you know whoever this nurse is is checking on the mini housings uh with the stethoscope uh and then uh then and dan housen is is tending to his wounds you know and adam pierce comes in and goes well you just give dominic his money back and dan housen says no and then he says put it on a pole and he goes what on a pole put it on a pole haven't you ever seen wrestling before which is such a wild thing to say to the general manager of Monday Night Raw.
50:32Well, he's right. I don't understand. Have you ever seen wrestling before? How long has Adam Pearce been the general manager of Raw? A while. I think it's been at least 18 and a half years. Exactly. I think that's around how long it's been. And how many pole matches have there been? A lot. No, there haven't. When was the last time Adam Pearce did an on a pole match? This was a staple of very late Nitro. Like the latter episodes of Nitro, we were having an on a pole match. You've never seen Judy Bagwell on a pole? I have not seen an on a pole match. Never seen Judy Bagwell on a pole. I have not seen it on a pole match.
51:02Buff Bagwell's mom on a pole. That's true. That's true. But Adam Pearce has been around wrestling for a lot more than 18 and a half years. He has to know. That you put it on a pole. And be familiar with pole matches. These on a pole matches, they've been a staple of wrestling for a long time. Some of them are very ridiculous. I'll just say that on Nitro, there was a, well, there was a Viagra on a pole match at one point. That is just wrestling trivia that you can just say. You could say that on a podcast. That's fine. It happened. But there was also, you know, the Halloween Havoc in 92, I want to say, had a coal miners glove match where the coal miners glove was on a pole.
51:45You had to climb the pole, get the glove. Now you can use it. 92, that was your SummerSlam. Survivor Series 92 was the nightstick match where you had to climb the pole to get the nightstick. It's similar to a flag match where you have to climb the pole and get the flag. When did they do away with on a pole matches? When everybody realized they were horrible. Oh. Generally speaking. Except Dan Housen loves them. So how long ago was that? About 18 and a half years ago. Dan Housen loves them though. And I think if anybody can bring back the on a pole match. And make them good? I mean, listen. Dominic Mysterio versus Dan Housen human monies on a pole is literally the thing to bring this style of match back.
52:27It's going to rule. How large is the pole? It's a large pole. Like you have to a lot of times kind of shimmy up it. You know, like you have to get up there and get it. Especially this type of on a pole match. Because some, if it's a weapon on a pole, then the first person who gets the weapon gets to use it. Got it. If it's a human monies on a pole type of match, it's more the flag match type rules. Where the first person to climb up and get the human monies, I would imagine is going to win the human money. And the pole is in the middle of the ring. No, no, no, no, no. It's on a corner post. Oh, okay.
52:59It's on, it's attached to. Hopefully it's not the one where Dan Housen's pyro goes off. That's true. It'd be the wrong one. Oh, he's got to be careful with that. He does. He does. But yeah, that's historically, the pole is affixed to a corner of the ring. It's high. You have to climb it. It's difficult to do. And it's going to be these two fighting each other, you know, to see who can get up that pole and then get the human monies. And by the way, legally speaking, after this, here's why this is good. Because after this, there will be no question as to whose money it is. Dominic is saying, that's my money.
53:35Give it back. You didn't uncurse anybody. Dan Housen is saying, no, that's my money. You gave it to me. Whoever gets it off the poll is 100%. That's their monies. It is crazy how Dan Housen just throws out this wild idea of having money on a pole match. Human. Human money's on a pole match. And Adam Pearce just goes, okay, no problem. But when Sami Zayn brings up very valid reasons why he should be added to the triple, you know, to the Cody Punk match. Adam Pearce is like, I can't do it. Well, that match was locked in. And then when Finn Balor says, I need to join the Royal Rumble, oh, it's full.
54:16Well, it was full. But then Dan Housen says, how about human monies on a pole? Oh, yeah. Well, there hasn't been an on a pole match in a very long time. And it is the best way to figure out who gets custody of the human monies. I guess if this is what has to be done. Yeah. It's what has to be done. We'll see you at SummerSlam. By the way, I get why you've been off your game tonight. Why? You've been distracted by my jewelry. Oh, I have been keeping my eye on that. Yes, my chain seat. I actually didn't really feel like people noticed I was off my game, so thanks for pointing it out. Well, but now they know it's not your fault.
54:54It's because I'm looking good. You know how once you find something you love, it becomes part of your everyday lineup? Totally. That's exactly how I feel about my chain from GLD. 57:46The vision coming into their own tonight How about it? Look How about it? It's tough to see lovable folks get absolutely smashed But there was a question about it, you know I mean, Alpha Academy's been looking real, real strong and last week I think we talked about the idea that maybe heartbreak was the best thing for Otis in terms of bringing the animal out in him but ultimately no he's left with a broken heart and a broken everything else yeah because once you get eaten by Braun Breaker's spear it's over I mean Tozawa I haven't seen anything like that since I show speed I know Tozawa got broken in half by that spear Braun Breaker makes an example out of Tozawa and then after the match, they not only take out Tozawa, but they completely take out Otis.
58:36What did you make of Maxine, this bringing her such great joy? It's difficult to watch if I'm being totally honest. Is that right? Very difficult to watch. Yeah. I mean, the vision does look cool. Yeah. Her and Austin Theory look happy. I just, I don't enjoy this side of her. Well, do you think that this is what they need to get Paul Heyman's attention back? Do they want Paul Heyman's attention? It seemed like they did. Unless they've had a change of thought on it. It seemed like they did for a while. I mean, they need momentum, right? In order to get Paul Heyman's attention back. Well, they got, here's the thing.
59:17They have the tag team championship. And I figured they may lose tonight. And then end up in a situation where the Alpha Academy is entitled to a shot at the tag team championship. That did not happen. Not even close. No. Not even close to the point where it's like if Alpha Academy were like, we're ready for a rematch, I'd be like, no, you're not. Doesn't look like it to me. Yeah, did you see what happened out there? Because that one can't walk. Right. He got broken in half, dude. Broken in half. And Maxine took joy in that. I don't know if anything's going to be able to capture Paul Heyman's attention until after he's done with the Hell in a Cell match with Brock Lesnar.
59:54but it was a a pretty dominant win oh super dominant super dominant I think a lot of people were questioning that going in a lot of people were wondering if it's like oh is the vision going to get beaten by Alpha Academy and then honestly if so and this is all due respect to Alpha Academy but that's a long way away from this conversation about these individuals being future WWE World Heavyweight Championship material. I think that now we're seeing that people maybe started counting out the vision a little too early. Yeah, the vision sort of had a series of unfortunate events. Yeah. As was chronicled on Unreal.
1:00:38It was. Yeah. But ever since Maxine Dupree joined into the fold, they've been as strong as they've ever been. Well, I don't know if they've been as strong as they've ever been. Because at one point, the Vision had the World Heavyweight Championship. That's true. In their grasp. But I do feel. They're trending in that direction. They're trending upwards. Right? Yes, I would agree with that. Before, it seemed like they could not catch a break. Yes, I would agree with that. And Logan Paul doesn't have his sling on anymore. Oh, his brace on his arm? Yeah, yeah. And I would say, yeah, the momentum.
1:01:14And last week on commentary, they said that Bronson Reed would be returning soon. Whatever soon means. I don't know. And to your point, though, the momentum, they do feel like there's momentum. Yes. And there didn't always. So that's a positive. Speaking of momentum, Dan Housen has a lot of momentum. And I'll tell you what, he may be climbing up that pole and getting that human monies. But in the meantime, whether he gets it up, whether he gets up the pole or not, he wants all of our human monies. And so the Dan Housen cursed collection is available now. I am actually like geeking out so hard over all this stuff.
1:01:54It's very nice. It's very evil. It's the Dan Housen cursed collection. You can collect everything or you can be cursed. It's available now at WWE shop and fanatics.
