In short
The hosts discuss a possible TV appearance, Mark’s Ireland corporate LGBT comedy incident, a “perfect day” of gardening/errands, wedding entertainment logistics, biscuit rankings, and an Ireland fuel protest by truckers/farmers that blocked Dublin and disrupted travel. They also talk about cargo pants/tradesmen style and upcoming performances.
Guests
None. The episode features two hosts: Mark T. Cox (night entertainer/performer; LGBT comedy; sings original songs like “Hometown Boys”) and Dennis Lennon (travels to Turkey; describes being caught in the fuel-protest disruption; upcoming trip to Turkey).
Key claims
Mark accidentally “autoplays” a joke about being “pounded by a married man” during a corporate LGBT luncheon, triggering HR panic but no complaints and quick payment. Dennis says the government’s PR blamed “groups” for the protest, which he argues was mainly ordinary people/farmers. The fuel blockade caused major airport/city travel delays.
Notable examples
Dublin smoking-area confrontation; HR woman collapsing; blocked M50/ports/refineries; “hot farmer” news; wedding “cards” drama at 3am; “Freed From Desire” unifying straight men; biscuit talk (Bourbon creams, lemon puffs, “thick teas”).

What did he think I said, Declan? What did you think I said? Nothing. What do you think? Welcome to this week's episode of Your Internet Boyfriends. Hello, Mark T. Cox. Hello, Dennis Lennon. This week we're talking about tractors, cargo pants and HR disasters. And Dennis will be telling us all about his upcoming trip to Turkey. This show is part of the Headstuff Podcast Network. Hello Oh fuck, I'm a fleeting little mini-axe I've an awful lot to say Go on We have to address well we have potentially been in the public eye but we don't know for sure so we can't say too much but possibly at the time of the release of this episode we're considerably more famous than we are at the time of the recording of the episode.
1:02Considerably. But we don't know because it could not happen. It might get cancelled. We could all die. Yeah, and this person that's listening to it right now might be listening to it before we're on. Yeah. But we're making it, can we tell them? We won't tell them all the details yet. We're making a TV appearance. TV deboo. Yeah. Maybe just check the social media. If we do it, we'll tell you all about it. If we don't do it, no need to mention it. Yeah, and we'll never mention it ever again. No need to say anything about it. But yeah, we're on the up. there's going to be I'd say we'll probably get we you know we started off with the gays yeah then we got the girls yeah do you know who's in next mothers the mothers are coming the mammies are coming the mothers are coming in thank god I have to stop showing my shin thank god on the podcast yeah I'm very excited so stand by for that yeah how are you feeling I'm wrecked I'm feeling there might be a big travel story coming in here I've been flying you have I've been flying around.
2:00I went to Ireland last week and I did some work and unintentionally caused controversies. And I was made aware in the smoking area of the George last Thursday night. homosexual came bounding pounding over towards me and said there's a word going around that Mark Teacocks has caused commotion in the Dublin corporate scene. This was... No, I've heard through the grave point that this is due to some comments you made to executive level during a corporate I was booked Meet and greet lunch. And you may have done an after midnight set. I was booked. I'm a nighttime entertainer. I'm a nighttime being.
2:56And I was booked to perform. I won't say the name of the company. It's a big company. It's Corpus Big Four. Big. Big deal. And I was booked to do a Corpus LGBT comedy luncheon. And I did it. And during the corporate comedy LGBT luncheon, I kind of did my show, like most of my show, like my Paddy Daddy show, bits and pieces, realising these people have been sitting at their desk five minutes ago. So I'm not going to get much, but they're actually lovely. It was really good. But they were having a great time and I kind of forgot the setting and I forgot the rules of corporate life. And I kind of slid into the actual show and I sang my song Hometown Boys.
3:49Have you heard that song? Yeah. My only song which is a very important song and it's all about LGBT life in the west of Ireland and the guilt and the shame and the secrecy that exists and especially people in very rural areas sometimes are discreet in their sexualities. In the sheds. Yeah, in the sheds and they're married and they're doing all sorts and that's how it is. That's how it has to be for some people. And so I wrote a little song about that and it's a beautiful song and everyone cried. And in fact, he's going to do it for us today. Hit it. And then at the end of the song, because it's a very emotional song and like it actually does trigger people and it's for some older gays who grew up in the countryside, it's, you know, it's emotional.
4:41So then to break that emotion in my show, I would often say, that's a lovely little song. I wrote that song about getting pounded by a married man. Which I think is nice. Yeah, yeah. Breaks the tension. Probably the biggest laugh I ever get for anything. And they all settle back in and the emotions are over. And I forgot during the LGBT corporate comedy luncheon, I forgot where I was. And I just went into autoplay. and I announced that that was a song about getting pounded by a married man and the homosexual in the smoking area of the George came bounding over and said there is commotion in corporate Dublin that you have been announcing that you've been pounded by a married man to corporate people and the HR woman at the back of the room collapsed collapsed so do you think you'll get the other big three onto you?
5:34I think shake them up a bit shake them up a bit Everyone's an adult. I know there's rules about what you're meant to talk about, but it's effective. You can only get that message across sometimes by being a bit shocking. Wait, you're saying you're being pounded by a married man. I know. Tell me about it. Will I tell you about it? Raising money for things. It was a summer's evening. Is it a true story? Well, I think... It doesn't matter. No, it does matter. It doesn't matter. This is why we're here. No, it's art. Sometimes you act like we're not here to talk about stuff. It's art. You're like, I have no time to talk about that.
6:11It's a societal topic. A kaleidoscope of experiences. Of a chunk of society. Definitely based on an actual... Well, it's a societal discussion. I bet he owned the restaurant or something, did he? I can't. He did, yeah. Yeah, he did. But, yeah, so the word went round about that. But they loved it and I got no complaints. I got an email and they said they had a great time. and I got paid. Very quickly, I'd say. Very quickly. Did a great time, but have a good career. It is funny, especially in the daytime. If that was like even a work night time event and people were drinking, you can behave differently.
6:53But I don't understand that because I'm always sober. So I don't see the difference if it's one o 'clock or nine o 'clock. Why do we have to censor the things we say? We're all adults. It's still the same group of people. I suppose it's just the kind of the way you're saying it, right? I know. No, but... Like, look, I can't turn around to someone and go, you never guess what happened last night. Founded by a married man. No. Like, you know, someone's doing spreadsheets, Mark. Like, they're just going, God, I just want to get this formula to work. Like, I can't take this on right now. Yeah. Do you know?
7:23Yeah. So that was interesting. Brilliant. Yeah, caused a ruckus. But the point is, Dublin is hilarious that the news goes round. I don't even know who the points of touch were. So you're eager for it. The news goes round. Was there openly LGBTs in there at the time? In the corporate comedy? Yeah, it was like the LGBT network. Oh, yeah, but like I assume, oh, it was just like as in. There was allies. Oh, there was allies. There was a mix. Yeah. Yeah, there was a lot of people. And then there was one fella and I said, I don't know what I said. I know what you said. What did I say? You said he was so happy to see you.
8:02He nearly swallowed up the chair. It was actually verbatim what you said. did I text you that? Yeah, you did. And then I found out he's like an important. Which is so odd. But I don't care. Yeah, you don't care. That doesn't matter to me. But it's the other people that are like, oh my God, you said that to the executive, blah, blah, blah. It's like, but he's not to me. He's just a person. It doesn't matter. Well, I'd say you'll be back. I will be back. I think it's great. What were you doing? Well, I suppose we should highlight one. Actually, you know what? We'll talk about that in the second half.
8:33Talk about the tractors in the second half. Oh, yes. We have to get into the tractors in a second. Oh, yes. No, what was I doing? Can I bring you on my perfect day? Okay. On Saturday. Oh, he's happy today. Yeah, perfect day. I came in today and he said, you look very fresh. Yeah, you did. Which is also such a weird thing to say. I said, you look very happy and positive. And I said, I'm going to drag you down. Yeah, you said, you wait. You wait. And we got in here then and there was nothing but complaints. Puffin and puffin. But no, I went and I actually announced it. I got a text message. I don't know if people saw it on my story.
9:02There was a number of gays messaged me. about how it was going to be such a great weekend. I got a message from Lisa. Yeah. Because I messaged her and I said, it's feeling fairly garden-y centre this weekend, you know? Like just a bit of foreplay. Yeah. And she said, you're dead right it is. And we're going to the dump. Oh. So like, I mean, that turns her on. Two big jobs. Going to the big recycling centre, that is... What were you getting rid of? We were getting rid of a lot of hedge. We tore that down. It's gone. Yeah. We started off our day and lads, we hit all the big ones. We went to all the big ones.
9:38We had a lovely bit of breakfast. That was nice. We didn't really rush out the door. And we were going to do all the jobs. We went to the range. We went to, I've immediately forgotten. Went to the range, Dunelm, HomeSense, which is TK Maxx. We were at all. She was fizzing. What was on the list? Browsing. A lot of brosing And then there was an objective then That we wanted to create a garden I don't know how you feel about this, right? She just wants green stuff in the garden No flowers Hostas She's a hosta girl Okay I planted a couple of hydrangeas in the back But she just wants hostas Yeah So we're getting the hostas done At one point, right?
10:21We were living in absolute Like domestic bliss Which quickly turned Yeah Bad But I was out in the front Assembling a cat tree Okay. She was in the back out in her garden. Lovely. Perfect. Yeah. Amazing. And then I assembled the cat tree and I realized that instead of the six foot cat tree that I thought I had. Yeah. I'd say it's probably about eight foot. You mean a climbing thing? Climbing thing for the tree. For the cat, yeah. What is this? Like a stepladder thing? It's, yeah, it's like levels for the cat to jump up and down. But I was just thinking, I was like, honestly, if I was bringing this home to Old Donal, Yeah Bringing it into his house Wouldn't be a hope I would go in there What colour is this?
11:04It's not too bad I matched it up I did some research And it's black bar And you know The brown table Like the classic stuff You can buy Scratching There's a bit of scratching On it yeah But it's got Then it's minimal fur Because look I know there's a lot of people Out there that won't like this Anytime you go at pets Like we could probably Get cancelled over this I I'm not on the side of people Having big furry cat trees Have you seen them? I have yeah I have Do you know a cat with one of those? He has a Does he have a thing George? He has a thing for a cat But he loves tearing everything else Yeah Yeah I just think that The big fluffy cat trees Oh I don't know about them They're mank Pissy Pissy Pissy and furry Don't love them Yeah So he likes it He loves it He's up and down the thing He's having the time of his life Looking out at the neighbours Yeah Trying to attack birds at the window Beautiful What else do you get?
11:57What else do we get? We got we got hostas we got for some reason I don't know why I got I don't know why I have I hate them so much we know rhododendrons oh I do right yeah was there a big thing in Ireland at one point how they were invasive and taking over Killarney National Park that's right yeah right yeah and they had to get rid of them and like start chopping them over there and she wanted to buy rhododendrons and I said I don't want to buy them keep them in the pot I like the bamboo so she obviously bought them should I have bamboo bamboo oh that happened in Ireland though didn't it come up yours yeah that was during the boom times It grows everywhere.
12:29People had a load of bamboo. Yeah, people on the news. Like, invasion. Yeah, the bamboo would be getting them out of the living room. Because it goes up into the walls. Yeah. And it could burst your plaster and everything. There was lads had bamboo came up and it turned their regular door into a sliding door. Oh. Yeah, it's gone. Like, the whole thing. Yeah. Took away their furniture sitting on the ground and everything. Mad. Treacherous. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But it's a beautiful little Saturday. It's great. Couldn't have asked for more. Didn't get to go to the dump. Any drama? No drama It was lovely Any fights?
13:00No Not really Alright See you next week It was lovely That's very nice I just had a nice Do you know why the sun was shining? The sun was shining Yeah it was Perked us up Very good Yeah Very nice What else do you ask? I'll be honest I need to refresh What the fuck I'm talking about Will I tell you about My other job In Dublin Do you know what? I saw this on your Instagram and I was interested. 13:47Thanks so much. Jackie and Sinead, hello. Thanks very much. And it was absolutely great. Do you know why? It was in a building that wasn't a vast 75 meter square hotel function room. It was in a pub with all different levels and stairs and there was people kind of huddled everywhere. It was so nice. So what was your, what were you doing? My job was to be, um, center of attention. I sang my, my original number. Um, I was like the host. so it's a very important job if anyone is getting married very important job if you need someone to like string it all together so like when they come in just announce that they're arriving and just kind of jump on the mic every 20 minutes and just tell people what's happening or like So did you get a list of stuff that you were meant to do?
14:43You just kind of know Were you introducing the father of the bride and stuff? Well one of the big jobs was the cards Sorry I never pluralised it Who? Father of the brides Oh, that was a full joke. And now we're going to hear from the mother of the brides. Brilliant. Very good. Father of the bride, one of the brides cried. Very good emotional speech about accepting everybody. Like, I think he's a Dublin, like a Dublin man. A man in his 60s, like, you know, who could have very different views, just lovely. Said all the beautiful things and burst out crying. That was fantastic. we are making the announcements announcing we need the cards we need the cards to go in the box people are a bit kind of lost at weddings they don't know what to do they're kind of floating around can I give you the cards are you taking the cards who's taking the cards it's a big drama can I have the cards and then every groomsman is going I'm not taking the cards and then 2 o 'clock in the morning and the cards are inside the handbag I was at my friend's wedding he comes along to me destroyed well he wasn't destroyed drunk but he was pretty drunk the DJ was looking for payment comes over to me and he goes on the night yeah Look, my friend had definitely agreed to do this.
15:53Yeah. And he comes up to me and he was a bit drunk and he goes, you start out the DJ there, get some of the cards, open them up. No. And get the money out of the cards, right? But the cards, cards are in the safe. Yeah. The hotel. And I had a key in the safe. Yeah. So I went into the office of the hotel about three o 'clock in the morning, opened up the safe. Yeah. And just started absolutely tearing through it. Raping cards. Just take a bit. Oh yeah, I took a little bit. but they have no idea they have no idea how much money people give them do you know what I mean I know there's about 6 cards I was just getting to I was trying to get to whatever it was like 500 euros what would you put in a card how much you put in a card what would you put in a card oh this is so so difficult I don't know what that is anymore you're going for you know dinner drinks whole night what would you put in oh it's free bar it's never free bar no free bar no dinner food and what would I put in a card yeah 250 I think it is yeah I was hoping you'd say that it's 250 I remember back in the days it used to be 100 150 yeah but I think as well as you get a little bit older it's like more an expectation and then if you're like a groomsman or whatever yeah and now it's all that was a big announcement and then we had to do a few songs so what I do this is a great tip kind of weave the speeches into a bit of a show so it's not misery and dragged out so I'll sing a couple of songs take over the speeches take over the whole show that's what I like to do what I do at the ceremony is during the I do's I sing a big song L is for yeah I think it's nice couple of songs and then the speeches trick them keep the speeches keep them going and announce them as if they're like performers and now next up we have Tommy yeah I've witnessed some witnessed some bad because it's slow it's very slow it is and then out of the speeches let's go and then a few songs fantastic and did you end I ended I had a false end a false finish you did an encore of course Oh my gosh And next up is the band And then we're setting up And you're like Get off the stage No no it's always me What I like to say is This is going to be my last song And it's Bohemian Rhapsody And what I say is Now this is a cabaret show So what that means is I'm going to sing this song I say the same words In exactly the same order Every time there's a microphone in my hand And they're great Why do I don't Some of your complaints Are the oddest things in the world No but I love it But you have to You have to And I say This is the last song And after this song I'm going to make a big fuss and demand that you demand that I sing another song.
18:18So I tell them. You have to give them a clue about how to behave. They love it. And then I finish and then I say what's that? And they start shouting and then I do another one. But I... Sorry. Did you get any like ho ho or any like uncle or anything trying to steal the limelight? Well there was two gay uncles. Oh. John and Miles. Uncles. And? Lovely. Did they shout at you? I'd say they'd like to. Oh! No, I'm only joking. No, I'm only joking. But that was funny. You have to do... It's like such a balance with you between protecting the next job. No, they were lovely. That's good if you get a bit of information about who's in the room.
18:59If you just mention someone's name. Ho, ho! Did you hear what he said about Mary being from Mullingar? Did you get fed? Oh, yeah. And did you sit down at a table like the priest? No, because it was casual. It was around bowls and bits. so I I schmoozed around a bit so we did the false finish and then we came back and we did Freed From Desire which is always a brilliant because it's the only song that the straight men will relax and sing along to yeah it unifies everybody you couldn't go up there and do like my neck my back they probably wouldn't get involved they wouldn't get involved yeah they start the shoulders the shoulders start going but they're often nervous but that one they let loose because it's about football or something.
19:45Oh, yeah, yeah. They know it from the football. I have, it's a completely unconnected thing that I wanted to ask you. So, I went to Tesco the other day and I went in with my club cards and I started crying, right? Because I couldn't buy anything. It was actually horrendous and I have it on my phone. The drama of your life this week. Oh, it was so bad. To get you some controversy. No, I'm totally enjoying my dramatically free life. But I went into my club card and I was like, this is a disaster. I was just looking at things I could get and I couldn't bring myself to buy them. But one of the things I went for, one of my old reliables, Bourbon Creams.
20:24Oh yes. Those biscuits. Delicious. Yes. Do you like them? I love them. Oh, I think they are top rated. I wanted to get a little bit of I want people to attack us over this. I think Bourbon Creams, 70p. Yeah. I remember back in the day, I'd get them for like 44 cents inside in Tesco. Dip them into the tea. Dip them into the milk? Yes They soak it up They soak it up Yeah Because they're very dusty On their own It depends what you're getting There's all sorts of different bourbons Yeah The cheaper bourbons Are better than the more expensive ones They can be dry They can get stuck in the throat Yeah Yeah They're delicious Oh so good I melt through them I absolutely love them Bought those They're gone But I'm just wondering Who else lies in the pantheon Of these biscuits So I think we've got Custard creams Where do you lie on those?
21:07A lemon puff Oh They're nice No, lemon puss are such a mother biscuit I like them Your mother eats them I love them Oh, she wouldn't eat a biscuit Oh no What? Oh, she wouldn't eat a biscuit What? She wouldn't eat a biscuit She wouldn't touch a biscuit One biscuit Maybe Did I tell you what my mother told me She was giving up cakes Lemon don't really eat Do you know what it's with picking bits? My mother told me she was giving up cakes Yeah Eating a fruit scone Oh I'm after cakes I'll just have a scone I'm after cakes I'll just have a giant scone I'll just have a scone She doesn't eat biscuits like as in Not really an odd one here.
21:40Would she cake? Not really. Oh. Picking bits. Bits, but they wouldn't, yeah. Back to the lemon puff. Custard cream lemon puff. I don't think the lemon puff is anywhere near there. I do love a lemon puff. What about a chocolate polo? Yeah. They're, I think they're supreme. But I think they're almost a level above. They're probably, as in like, a little bit fancier than a bourbon. No, I think the cheap ones are great. A rich tea. A thick tea. Do you remember that? No. T-H-I-C-C What the fuck is a thick tea? Thick rich tea They're real Are you making it yourself? No They're a biscuit You buy them They're like a Fat rich tea They're just the dustiest Plainest Carboard Whatever they've left Just squish it together Lovely Dip it in the tea I've never had those Thick tea Yeah How do you Could you imagine that?
22:34I'll show you in the shop They're delicious Can you pick me up A packet of thick teas? Thick teas I used to love them and you break them and the dust goes everywhere I've never come across them I used to double up rich teas do you ever do you know what these are things that now I feel sick thinking about it but back then I definitely at some point liked it buttering rich teas I know I'm saying teas instead of little rich tea delicious rich tea sandwich yeah a little butter in the middle that's sick yeah it just softens the dust yeah what about a hobnob love a hobnob Yeah. Love a hobnob. Love a chocolate hobnob.
23:11Yeah. Dangerous for the dipping. Why? Or they fall apart? I do fall apart. I'd go through them now. Yeah, I would go through the packets. Do you eat biscuits now? I try and stay off the biscuits. I'm in the public eye. And I like to parade around with my blouse off. But if I let myself, I'd have the whole packet. How are the tits coming along? I've dropped the ball. I've been busy. I've been all action I've dropped the ball this week now I'll start I won't because we're going all over the world yeah we are next week I'll start will we take a break yeah let's have a biscuit take a break the tractors oh the tractors open force okay international listeners don't know what this is will you just tell them so it's a hard enough one to explain but basically with everything that's going on at the moment fuel has gone up yes it is diesel in London is nearly two pounds.
24:06Okay. Mania, right? That's crazy. Two pounds a liter. At least, right. It's insane. Like, as in, it was one, I don't know, 40, 30? Yeah. Like, not that long ago. It's bananas. I've never ever seen it go to that level, right? Yeah. Very, very bad. So, back home in Ireland, there is an excise on, like a tax taken by the government on fuel. Yeah. And it's a very, very large portion of the number that you see up on a fuel station. Yeah, it's... Or an amount. I actually, I think it's an amount per litre. Okay. I don't know the exact numbers here, but it's very large. Like, it's like... If you want to support this podcast and get a full ad-free episode, sign up to Headstuff Plus.
24:56Let's say something costs 170. I think the government take like 130. Yeah. It's a lot. Yeah. So people got together, like business owners, farmers, anyone who's involved basically like delivery, anyone who's involved in like something that takes up fuel consumption which is basically nearly everything. Right? But especially like smaller people and farmers who are already like pretty tight on everything anyway. Yeah. And they said, all right, we're going to have a little protest. Truck drivers, the lot, went up to Dublin and blocked motorways, blocked center of Dublin, blocked loads of, blocked refineries down in Cork.
25:31Yeah. major, major disruption like crazy disruption there was I'm going to jump around but it's funny it's like Circle K were coming in to some they were trying to dock I think there was another dock that they basically a port that they blocked and Circle K were coming in going we can't land with the fuel or we can't come in with the fuel you know it's costing us so much money it's like I don't feel sorry for the oil companies so anyway this went on for a long old time in the last couple of days. Was it not? What, about four days? Yeah. I mean, we don't know now. Is it over? Well, they cleared them.
26:08Yeah, they'll be back. Yeah, they cleared them on a... Was it last... At two o 'clock in the morning, maybe two nights ago. And everyone peacefully kind of drove away or whatever. But big news. Big news. And who was in the middle of it? Me. You were in the middle of it. I was there. You were there. I landed in. I couldn't move. I couldn't go anywhere. Where did you, what, you landed in the airport? I had to go, I had to go to do my jobs. So I had to walk. Oh yeah, sorry. And the most important thing about this is how badly it's affected. I was disrupted. And I was on, I was, no. I think it's great.
26:45I think, um. Quick reverse. I support the right. Did you have to walk out to the airport? I had to walk everywhere. Did you have to walk? No, I didn't walk to the airport. I had to get a taxi. That was very complicated. Lisa told me you were walking out to the airport. Yeah, because I lie. I tell lies. Because some people were. Yeah. Some people got off on like whatever it is, the M50. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And were just walking with the carry-on out the road. Coming home on Friday, my flight was at seven o 'clock. I got a taxi at half past one because I was ready. I thought, here we go. We're going to sit in traffic for hours.
27:17And sure, I got to the airport at two o 'clock. And I had to sit there for five hours. But I was just determined. You've no luck traveling. Well, there's no point. You know there's problems. So just get moving. No, the airport was okay. but the city was just there was just no moving like everything was shut and it was very powerful that like it's very easy that the people can take over yeah well it's great I think it's great I think it shows what the power the government need to see that it's very easy for people to I have to say like you know we don't we normally try and give a little break I think from more stuff that's going on around that's usually what we're doing on the podcast right like I mean me and you we check the news every two and a half seconds.
27:59Oh, yeah. Probably to our detriment, right? Yeah. Very involved mentally. Yeah. But I have to go there with this. This was one of the most badly handled PR media handling by the government of anything in a long, long time. I love that you were taking a break or breath there that I was going to go on the wrong side of this. I was going to say what you were going to say. It was so bad that it came out. Like, they did this thing, and I really thought this was disingenuous, right? allegedly they did this thing i'll just pop that in there where they said that and i'm not going to mention the groups either because if i mentioned the groups then we might get flagged blah blah but they mentioned that there might have been some groups that were basically propelling this along i know to completely like try and cut the legs off what was a valid and like valued protest and they were like i say oh well you know there's groups in there and they're fanning the flames and that's why and it's like no this is just normal people yes there are definitely some people, as with all protests, who are probably trying to leverage this a little bit, but they're completely in the minority.
29:02And I thought when they said that, that pissed me off so much because they're using what is a legitimate argument in a lot of the world and whatever, but in this case was just not true. I was very confused about my feelings when I was there because I was talking to people and I posted a bit about it and people's reactions to it was so varied. Oh my God. You can see how easy people start fighting against each other. Oh yeah, yeah. And all the people in my world are generally similar. Well, just take it as read, right? Corporations don't like you. Government don't like you. Yeah. They're the people you should probably be aiming your fire at.
29:42But it wasn't just about the fuel. It was about a million different things. It was like people are feeling the pinch. Set up. Things are crap. Yeah. And like, you know. And farmers and a lot of people are overlooked. And everyone's being battered. So it was just like, oh, we're going to go out and protest. Yeah. You know? It's very effective and very peaceful. Like people forget how many horrible protests we've had with setting trains on fire and like riots. And I think the most... It was just loads of farmers eating sandwiches. Yeah, it was, yeah. And they loved sandwiches. Brown sauce and onion sandwiches.
30:12Oh my God, up and down the Connell Street. You couldn't buy brown sauce and don't. No tinfoil left. Yeah. the most important thing that came out of it though was of course the hot farmer oh sexy farmer I think the news came out that he has a girlfriend oh you never should have revealed that yeah so that's that was a mistake I made that's the end of that but yeah he was nice yeah yeah we'll see what happens but it's no harm can I I just want to follow up on the hot farmer just a minute do I like a farmer do you like cargo pants oh yeah like sneakers yeah Yeah, of course. And they're squeezed into them.

30:48What's the Snickers thing about? They're so tight. There's some, like, girls love that as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What is, like, it's just because it's a lot of pockets? It's the little fantasy of some fella coming in to do plumbing and, yeah. Throw you around. But why do the pockets, I'd say? Because it just gives you a clue that he's like a tradesman. And tradesmen would be good for throwing you around. Yeah. but you know we're not going to talk about it anymore Have you had many interactions with Plumbers Tradesmen That never happens in real life No I don't mean like calling the house I don't mean the gas man I mean like Oh people Oh yeah Like tradies Yeah Yeah They're around there Yeah Because I'd say they're probably the least Okay least is a strong word but they wouldn't be out as much right The building trade would be a very hard place to be out I've worked on building sites and stuff I'd say it'd be quite hard I'd say better now than it was but there'd be a fair bit of discretion in the workplace but now, like in London there's whole teams that are queer oh yeah but yeah, they love those trousers oh sorry yesterday I was, where was I?
32:03I was trying on some clothes and they're all terrible and I was in the dressing room and there was a guy next to me and I'm going to assume right I'm safe to say that the guy manning the dressing room he was gay right and he came in the guy from a dressing room who's definitely straight as an older guy he called him and said can I get another pair of these and your man goes yes but close the dressing oh
32:31what is happening and you can't see so you're making it I was trying to peer around but I I was over the top. I went, wait till you see the little outfit I bought in Dublin. I lost my mind. I had a few. Before the event? Potentially, yeah. Come on, you've got to tell me what it is. We've got to match. No. Well, you have to show it to you. No, I need, I can't describe, but I got, I got very excited and I spent money. When I go in to Dublin, I feel rich. Yeah. I don't know why. I go up and down Grafton Street and I see all the fancy women and I'm, let's go, let's go to Brown Thomas I just want money.
33:08Do you bump into many people who you spotted? I bumped into everyone. So many people. Inside in the George, I went to Davina Devine's Apprentice. She has this drag competition running for the last, oh my God, 10 years or 20, I don't know, forever. Very good. Loads of good performers. Couple of awful. Yeah. Couple of people who've never performed in their life and they're on the stage in the George, which I've done that stage. it's overwhelming the people up in the air it's so much so good good for them so I was there and I met all the fans we should pop into the George oh my god I think we're going tonight oh good okay we're in Dublin today great if anyone's around yeah yeah that was great I was seen and I saw everybody did you see any fans?
33:56loads of fans can't remember their names did you send me a picture of someone accosted me in the toilet queuing up oh good what did they say to you? I had a picture did a whole photo shoot Do you know what I'm really surprised by? So many people think that we're smaller than we are. Everyone thinks I'm small. Why? Is that because you act kind of coy? I don't know, we're always sitting down. I mean, we're two strapping six foot two lads. Yeah, I'd say I'd six foot three. Would you? Would you be six foot three with the fringe result? Sometimes. They always think we're a bit smaller. I have something else to tell you and I can't remember what it was.
34:30Oh, I want you to watch the comeback. I'm shocked you haven't seen it What is it? Have you not seen Lisa Kudrow doing interviews everywhere the last couple of weeks Oh is that what Yeah I know I have Have you seen her? I've seen her do the interviews but I didn't know What do you think it's about? Is it come back? Is that out a while? No? That's out 20 years Yeah okay I have never seen it It is an awful lot of the things that I say are from that and people don't realise like the way I talk is partially middle-aged women in the west of Ireland but it's an awful lot of this character as well. The way she says things and she hesitates because do you know the premise of the show?
35:12She's a sitcom actress who has finished her sitcom and now is coming back. Perfect. She did that after Friends. Yeah. It's not really Friends but it's obviously this. And there's a reality TV show following her to make a show about her comeback. so she's out and about in the public and she's always been filmed so she's saying something but then she's aware it might be read wrong so she's panicking and it's it's me it's the way I behave all the time that I'm like oh I shouldn't say well it's very you're constantly you're you are constantly afraid that you're going to get costs on the wrong oh yeah yeah and she's so positive and she's so resilient and she keeps getting bashed down.
35:59It's so good. It's so good. I'll take it off. But there was one in 2004 or 2005 and then a 10 year gap and then they did it in 2015 and another 10 year gap and now it's season 3. Oh that's why it's all around. Okay. It's so good. But you'll see her manner is This part of me doesn't really want to ruin the illusion. Do you know what I mean? I don't want to. But I keep saying things and no one I just keep saying the catchphrases and then it's like that's really original but they're not it's just her little her manners I don't know watch it I want to ask you as well completely unrelated again yeah how are your escapades going at the moment you haven't told us any escapades who?
36:40sorry what did he think I said what did he think I said Declan
36:52Declan won't even talk Nothing. What do you think I said? What do you think? What are you saying?
37:02Adventures. Probably a better phonetically sounding word. Just in general. You haven't told us about any like adventures. Romance? Yeah. No time. You definitely... No time. But isn't that where all your time goes? Half your time is there. No time. I had no time in Dublin. I had a lovely hotel and it was only me inside in it. Um... No, I find in Dublin as well it's... Oh, I don't know. I'm nervous about it. Why? I'm too... Famous. Too famous. Honest to God, the amount... Oh, Mark. I'm over it. What are you talking about? I'm done. So you're saying you can't... Well, the word goes round. Look at the corporate luncheon.
37:46Anything that happens... You shouldn't ride anyone at the corporate luncheon. No, but you can't twist in Dublin. It gets talked about. So you know what you're going to have to do? You're going to have to do the thing where you get a person to go on a date for you. We'll get Declan to go on a date for you. A recce. And then we get Declan to sign or get them to sign an NDA. Yeah. And then Declan brings you to the house or brings them to your house. Yeah. Too famous. Too famous. No, I have no time. So no adventures? No. This is lies. It's not, honest to God. When was the last adventure? Well. Today, right?

Mark may have caused absolute commotion in corporate Dublin after performing at an LGBT work lunch and accidentally slipping into material that was definitely not built for a daytime setting.
The lads also talk about their debut TV appearance and why bourbon creams are the superior biscuit and does anyone know what a thick tea is?
This episode also features mothers and fame to tractors, farmers and sexy builder pants and Denis’s upcoming trip to Turkey and the weirdness of going somewhere your partner already knows inside out.
