In short

The episode of Your Internet Boyfriends (#70) is a Pride-themed chat between Mark T. Cox and Dennis Lynn, mixing LGBTQ+ banter with dating/sex jokes, travel stories, and sports commentary. They discuss Pride events and Mark’s plan to organize a float (“BAIT”: Be an interesting tease), plus a proposed “mix and mingle” event with wristbands and a “speed kissing across London” concept.

Key claims

they joke that most listeners are “bottoms” (T vs B/Bs), that men are “starved for compliments,” and that everything can become “cringe” if people are too self-conscious.

Notable examples

Mark describes being “towed” onto a dance floor in a Newmarket club; he and Dennis swap Malta holiday stories; they debate compliments after Mark hoovered Lisa’s house enthusiastically; they discuss Arsenal winning the Premier League then losing the Champions League final; and they mention an Irish Love Island-related controversy about a Galway player (Sean Fitzgerald).

1:58Denis:It wasn't why she Oh, backstage? Look, I can't say any more. I'll have to tell you in our bonus episodes that are now out. That's very good. Isn't that good? Very smooth. Yeah, it is. And it's true. What have we done, Mark? What have we done? We're now making two episodes a week because the listeners were complaining that we're stopping and starting and we're never saying what we want. True. Because I'm nervous. So we have another episode now, our second date, that you can listen after this and we'll be let loose.

2:40Denis:Yeah. Real opinions are coming out in that now. All the stories. I can't wait. Filled in dirt. Yeah. It's all coming out. All the fake answers are gone now. I want the real ones. 3:16I know, yeah.

3:16Denis:But we can't stop them from signing up. No, I wouldn't want to stop them. That's the whole point. But I wonder, I don't think we know who they are. Yeah, but if someone is giving us like five or ten quid, I don't care. Yeah. Could be anyone. Head away in Have a listen So we'll be doing that, you can follow us into the episode Actually after today's one, because there's one already there for you Yeah, good Happy Pride, happy bonus I will be also Marching in Pride, or I'm hoping to That's right Yeah, I have been trying to get on to the Pride organizers About organizing a float Yeah, how would it look?

3:51Denis:It's called BAIT B-A-I-T B-A-I-T Yeah It stands for Be Interesting

4:04Denis:Teas Teas Be an interesting tease Right Because that's fun Yeah And it's I've Basically I've I've organised about 25 straight men Yeah Handsome All shapes and sizes And we're going to parade down the Regent Street Down Regent Street Yeah Down the middle of the street On our big float Baiting them all Yeah it's it's it's Christ Mark no there's three there's three versions of that float well I'm my one's the fishing rod three what's definitions of that word yeah there is do you know them yeah I'm not I'm not getting into that why would I get into this yeah but there's another one do you know about this I know about bait that's the one I'm probably playing on bait B-A-T-E B-A-T-E do you know about this there's clubs no Baiting clubs What are you talking about?

4:57Denis:There is Baiting clubs Yeah What do you mean? There's an organisation Wait no Am I misreading this? No Are you saying No I'm not punching Oh I thought it was a club Where you go in And you just bait the crap out of people And they'd bait the crap out of you As in B-B-A-T Bait You mean You're talking about The Irish pronunciation Baiting them Like No Like everyone goes into a club And in the I have to say right In the silly way I'm going to say it's silly right In the silly way That everyone has to have a role In the community Yeah There'd be the baiters And the baitees Well there is But it's not punching It's You know What Diddlin What do you mean It's just a club like Diddlin yeah Why does it have a What does the bait part Have to do with it Diddle To diddle Like you bait into them No You know No Hand Hand Oh oh oh Oh, you mean, you mean master of baiting?

5:55Yeah.

5:56Denis:But it's just that. Just that. Very strict. That is so funny. Very strict. So funny. No kisses. Do you know, oh my God. Well, maybe kiss, no kiss below the hip. A kiss below, that's not allowed. That's not allowed. Just baiting. Very strict. That is so funny. Very strict. I love that. But you know what? So you might want to be careful with the application to the Pride Committee. Oh, right. Well, no, I'll just pretend I was playing on that as well. Yeah, so there's three plays on that. Fantastic. I forgot about that one. On that little pawn. Wait, wait, we're not leaving this yet. And plus I have a little story to tell you.

6:30Well, you're saying bait as in the Irish pronunciation of beat.

6:33Denis:No, I'm saying B-A-I-T as in fishing rod, and I'm fishing with straight men in pride. Okay. As bait. To manipulate the community. Yes. For subscriptions to your new bonus content. 100%, yes. Economic reasons. Episodes. Okay. Can we just go back to the club where it's only... only wanking yeah why are you Jesus that's what it is yeah do you know there was a one of the most incredible things I've ever seen in my life I might have mentioned it on the podcast did I ever mention what I saw in a club once back in the day probably I think yeah did I about the dragon yeah I did I think so what is it no I'm trying to get away from it tell me yeah I didn't I didn't myself myself and my good friend yeah We're walking around A club in I'm sure I can probably Stay at the club It doesn't matter right Newmarket Right Little town in Ireland Newmarket called the Highland Yeah Right It was absolute mart I don't know if it's still going I'm sure it is But it was where you had to go right Because you know Where else did you go Yeah And someone would organise a bus Yeah You know Barry's organising the bus And it's only tenner You get on the bus So 52 people Head off from Mallow Down to Newmarket We went in there one night And it was me And my friend And we were looking for Our other friend Who happened to be my friend's brother, right?

7:52Denis:We're all good friends. Couldn't find him anywhere. Where has he gone? Right, so we had a look around and then there'd be seats in the sides. Yeah. Where he'd be up to all sorts of funny business, but very open at the same time. Yeah. Right? So we're walking along and we see the dance floor and then we look over and there's our friend and he has been towed onto the dance floor. Oh. Towed. Oh. Why? You would bring them onto the dance floor like that I don't know but yeah he didn't he looked in distress yeah and the reason he was in distress is because not only was she towing him onto the dance floor she was also towing him at speed and I think she had a couple of rings on as well vigor vigor yeah vigorously towing him onto the dance floor by the mickey what yeah straight on by the mickey yeah I've never laughed so much in my life I was absolutely taken out just because of the look in his face also like he could have just stopped us at any time that's the that's the strangest thing yeah But he was enjoying about 10 % of it, hating about 90 % of it, and that was enough for him.

8:51Denis:He'd play along with it, might be often. Can I just, would you get thrown out of this club? Yes. If you did anything else? Oh, yes. That is so funny. What's the, like, because to be honest, I like the idea of that one compared to a lot of the ones you've told me. Nice, yeah. Because it's pressure. The pressure's off. And easy enough. Yeah. Yeah, you go in after work. Do you, are you. I've never been. Of course not. Are you a bait and a baity? Do you get like a wristband? No, I think you're. It's all whatever You don't have to be A thing It's all go Yeah I've never been I might go Bring Declan Bring Declan Not here today I miss him No he's not Yeah He's off Galavant thing He's very busy He is Very busy Well he had a Good old time there During the week didn't he Yeah What's out and about We can say it no No What Oh my god I'm not here This is why we have Bonus episodes Maybe No you're You're not Actually yeah Should we keep a list?

9:48Denis:Okay we have to talk about that No I'm not talking about the thing that you think I'm talking about I'm talking about his photo shoot Oh with your man What's his name? But now you've made it obvious that there's something else What's his name? I keep forgetting it James Sutton Oh my god That lamp Every week Yeah our Declan he was photographing for Crotch magazine I think we have a few I think we only have a bot A few copies We don't have Crotch No we don't have Crotch just bot Yeah We have to keep an eye on him now He's taken off Yeah And did you Did you like the pictures of James Funt? I liked the pictures yeah I was very happy to Give a curatorial eye Oh yeah Cast it over Over some of the outtakes Yeah Fantastic Great Lovely And now they're flying around And they're kind of coming They're coming at me From different people And they're They're great They're legit They're out there What are they asking you?

10:39No no But just they're flying around They feel very like Genuine and Legitimate And There's not anyone looking for Like behind the scenes photographs No No How does How do we get on to that God almighty I thought we'd have a lovely chat About my holidays Wait a minute But James James Is he He's straight is he He is

10:56Denis:He is But he played a gay He plays a gay He could be on your float He could be He's a bit You know what He'd be a bit too much tension I need someone Yeah Need someone not as built as him Yeah Could you have your Who else could be in that category That gets mixed up That the gay is like well I mean you'd have the who is it oh I mean but these are superstars like yeah like you're talking about the Pedro Pascal's of the world but he's gay is he gay now he's gay now oh sorry he was always gay what is he he is yeah oh I thought that was just a I thought that was just a thing I thought he just had a friend no no I'd say kisses the friend oh is he yeah I don't think he was ever not but he didn't talk about it too much Oh I didn't realise that I'm pretty sure yeah Well I searched that I'm pretty sure he is yeah Yeah because he was with a lad And they seem like they're having a lovely time He was riding a lad there for a while I don't know what does that mean Does that count?

11:56For pride Yeah we have a long old month of it now I'm up and down Can I say to anyone who sees me on the streets of Soho Dragging people around on tours I'm going to say hello to you now Because I won't see you on the street I'm very in my health and safety mode trying to not get them knocked down by cars so every day I get a little message that I was seen herding people through the streets

12:22Denis:and is it you are they what are they just pointing it out or are they a little upset that you didn't wave at them they'd be upset now yeah they didn't wave very needy I'll just say they're very needy lately crazy needy I stopped giving a bit and they're turning yeah how long are you going to hold out though yeah just overwhelmed Can I just Just had a look there At Pedro Pascal Homosexual Has never really defined His sexuality Oh So we don't want to be Oh sorry Okay Well Mark Tickock's just Trying to out him there I think it's fine I think it's alright Yeah He likes a laugh He likes a laugh Just for a laugh So we pride We'll have to bring you to pride I was invited to Dublin pride And I don't think I can make it I'm missing prides all over the place I miss Mayo pride Heard you got in trouble for that I got in trouble for that because I didn't make an announcement to explain why I wasn't there and people thought there's a bird there outside people thought I was boycotting or they thought I was you know disgruntled or something so I'm very sorry I wouldn't be like you to be disgruntled I actually would I had a great time I had a great time you said so much good things about Mayo Pride who's given out?

13:33they're all given out so I'm very sorry to the people of Mayo that I wasn't there and I'll try and come back again. But I was spotted in Mayo multiple times. Did you send the lad over? People kept messaging me to say they saw me or they saw someone like me and it turns out there was a fellow who I know, I won't say his name. I'll tell you where you will say his name though. I might say his name. On the bonus episode. I have a lot to say in this bonus episode but he turned up and he took my place.

14:11can I just say he took my place in many ways and I'll tell you about that later

14:16Denis:wait before you move on would I be wrong in saying or right in saying that you kind of you wouldn't mind that now some oh yes that who looks like you yeah yeah yeah you've kind of a sent him out twin complex sent him out in my place and then I nearly got I won't say arrested but I'm going to say I nearly got into trouble with the law Because I've been accused Multiple times In the last week Of Impersonating Myself What? And creating false profiles And catfishing When I'm on If I go home You have a different If I'm on If I'm on the phone And people see me pop up In the little grid they think it's someone pretending to be me they're like Mark T Cox wouldn't be dead wouldn't be caught dead in Ennis but they because they say like oh haha this isn't the real person and then they have a look and scroll up and they see all the messages before and they're like oh it is Mark from 2016 but it's happened many times that people don't believe it's me isn't that funny and then I get into this fluster of trying to prove it like why should I care but I go into this like absolute madness back and forth like trying to prove it's me like very interesting but if you get like reported a few times you can get your your thing blocked how do you prove it's you?

15:51how do you prove it's I don't know well one of them came across and then but sure that's it sure you could that's everywhere I suppose you could send all sorts you could find things and yeah dangerous video call you could yeah Or you can send I think you can probably Send a picture And it comes up With a little stamp Like taken today

16:12Denis:Is there any chance You could get something Maybe in like The Ennis Vale star Or something That Mark T. Cox is home He's home Don't be surprised Don't be surprised If he pops up Yeah You know it is him Send all the messages Yeah It'd be hard enough though To Kind of get into that Carry on at home though Would it? Ash there's no carry on I'm only I'm only looking Talking Teasing him Driving him mad There'll be no carry on It's no wonder they're pissed off They know it's you That's it You're just not messaging them back So then they go Oh I message no one back No Just Just having a look Do you know See who's around But they're all very secretive Yeah I get no good out of it I don't know how much I should mention to this Should I say on this on Nah Go on No I will I will I saw I was on the tube And I was flying around the place And there was two Lads sitting across The way from me Oh Two Very good looking Yeah Gay men.

17:06Denis:Yeah. Right? And I think I picked up on it. They knew you? No, they didn't know me. But they didn't know each other either. And they were trying to find out as much as humanly possible about each other on their way to their rendezvous at one of their houses. And it was a really interesting conversation to hear. What were they saying? Well, they were just saying like, you know, where do you work? What do you do? Oh, I work here. That's where my office is. Oh, my God. My office is only down the road from there. Blah, blah, blah. but the way they were like cuddled up together you'd think that they were gone out like two years but they'd just met but I thought it was I thought it was an interesting phenomenon where potentially these two men had just met and were trying to find out like as much information as possible before the riots in a nice kind of way right like they're trying to get to know who you are or whatever as the tube is hurtling towards East London is that a common thing?

17:56Or you could have very long relationships with someone and know nothing

18:00Denis:Oh what? You think that they could have been together for a good while? But often there wouldn't be time to do that talk and maybe so there'd be. Yeah, it's good that they were trying to have a bit of. Well, I think they went on a little date and then. Yeah. They're headed off. It went well. But I got the feeling like, like, so if I was maybe if I had met someone like that, I mean, I could be I could be casting aspersions here now on this is too lovely. But if I met someone like that, you know, I'd probably be I'd probably be taking my time finding out stuff. Right. because I know that well hopefully as the dates go on I might find out a bit more yeah but maybe if it was a bit more from want of a better word disposable you might try and find out as much as you can you get a few bits yeah and then head off yeah you've gone very stonewallish on this one what do you think very stonewallish I'd say often there's no need you wouldn't get to know anyone asking any questions there's often no need you're so bad do you know depends what you're depends what they're looking for but it wouldn't add it would it wouldn't add anything to you to know more you'd know you'd want to know yeah but screaming on the tube well they weren't screaming on the tube i was just i was i was eavesdropping on them yeah but one thing they brought up right one of them had a little business idea oh and he said wouldn't it be great if you could go speed kissing across london that would be great where you pop in to a cafe and there's about 10 cafes that have them across the way like across the London map and you pop in and you speed kiss and you sit down and you kiss a man and then you go on to the next cafe.

19:38Denis:I think we should do an event. What? Speed kissing? I think. Could the listeners tell us I have a vision for us. That you haven't run by me. Of doing some kind of mix and mingle. I would like to do that. I would like to do a kind of like putting people together thing. Mix and mingle and you know we could be there handing out canapes and drinks and things and then they could all you know get to know each other and then there'd be a point we'd leave them leave them to us or maybe you could leave us to us I might head away I'll head away there so lads look so lads you all seem very busy turn off the light do you know when your parents are like I'll leave you to it now would that be nice yeah that'd be good and you could I could tell you about yeah the rest of it later do you know what would be nice if we did it based on like wristbands okay right So like you'd get a gold wristband if you're allowed to talk to Mark.

20:34Denis:Oh yeah. Do you know what I mean? VIP. You know, and like, well, you could, you could, you could maybe say what you're, you know, into up for, if you're looking for long term, short term, whatever, we could do it on wristbands. But then there'd be a gold band if you want to talk to Mark. Right. What's the thing to that? There's a license needed. A license? I would say we're veering into a different license if you're selling. What? What are we doing? Or spends for. No, they can't get with you. Oh, talk. Jesus, no. I don't know if you're allowed to do that. Why not? Are you allowed to do that? Can you sell kisses?

21:09Denis:Well, you'd sit up in the balcony somewhere, right? Yeah. And if they didn't have a gold band, they couldn't get up to you. Fine. That's grand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you like that? We could have a few twinks on the door. A bunch of twinks on the door, yeah. Keeping them out. Get Simon back. Big twinks. Twonks. Oh, twunkies. What? No, that's not a thing. Twunkies. What the hell is a twunk? A muscly one. Oh my God, we went through this. Where have you been? We never mentioned twunks. A muscly one. You know the one. Brilliant. But a twink to me is like, it's kind of smaller. Yeah, but then the ones with muscles.

21:45Denis:But a twunk is a muscly younger guy. A little beefy. Kind of, yeah? Yeah. A twunk. Absolutely brilliant. yeah get a few of those in yeah get a couple of when they come to that event I'm dying for an event oh I mean we could I don't know why so what are you saying that like okay forget my idea a speed date yeah speed dating but are we like on are we up at the top saying like you should sit with him talk to him like are we hosting it or what I think we're hosting it yeah and I could sing a song oh here we go oh fuck's sake I could do two numbers yeah I'd do three songs and then we'd let the masses turn off the lights But we'd have to pair them up We'd have to do I wouldn't force it too much Ah but we'd have to do A little bit You set up some bit of thing And just let them out of there But that's where we'd have Okay forgetting the gold band Which was We'd have the bands right So you could You know hold up your band That'd be so much fun Yeah Tops on the left Bottoms on the right That's right Do you know It'd be hilarious Yeah Let's see What Could be an imbalance Verse Oh what It's all tops No It's all bottoms I don't know No, I do.

22:52Analyze the listeners. What do you think? There's a lot of work involved. Oh, this is brilliant. Survey Monkey.

22:57Denis:What do you think the percentage of our listeners are in terms of T versus Bs? I'd say it's leaning to the Bs. Do you think it's leaning to the Bs? I think it's leaning to the Bs. That's okay. I think generally the population is leaning to the Bs. Really? Oh, yes. And we have, of course, we can't forget our brothers in arms sides as well. That's right. Yeah. A couple of them on the side. Can you explain to me just one more thing? what the hell is verse again? What do you mean? Everything, both, the whole lot. Well, what's a verse? Versatile. Well, what's a verse bottom? What does that mean? Primarily bottom, but if it comes to it, we'll go top.

23:31Denis:Yeah. Okay, great. Variety. Okay, so I love that. Do you agree with it, listeners, that what Mark says the majority of you are bottom? But for kissing, I mean, you could kiss anyone. It doesn't matter. Yeah, but you could kiss anyone, but... You could waste your time. Yeah, we don't want to be wasting time, right? We want to get matches. Kissing the wrong one. I think we have to take a break, nearly. Okay. Tell me one more quick thing. How much time? You have two minutes to talk. Oh, two minutes. Well, one of the things that happened to me during the week was I got, I'm going to start again. One of the things that happened to me during the week was I got tricked into hoovering and doing loads of jobs.

24:02Denis:Oh. I couldn't believe what happened. In whose house? In Lisa's house. Oh. I did the hoovering. I cleaned up the counters. Yeah. I did everything. And you know why I did it? because someone told me that I was really good at hoovering. Oh, and you're good. You enjoy it. Yeah. She said, I think you're actually better at hoovering than me. I can't possibly do it. And you might be the best hooverer I've ever encountered. I'll show you now. I fucking felt for it. I was off hoovering the whole place. I hoovered the place. I cleaned it up. And then afterwards, I was like, oh my God, I did it with enthusiasm.

24:39Denis:Yeah. But that's something I want to talk to you about after the break, is compliments. Okay. All right, let's go take a little break. Bye bye. He's here. And he's there. He is. Wow. Oh, we're back. We're back. What a lovely day we're having. Sorry, that got all out of hand. Yeah, it did. It went completely. Mother of God. But, Annas, we've already received several complaints. The hotline is pinging. The hotline is hopping. I have to tell you about my holidays. Go on. I was a fool. Why? I went to Malta for two days. Why? You didn't extend it until a full break. Why did you go to Malt for two days?

25:15Denis:That's mad I don't know why I thought I was being really like efficient And hopping around And I got there And I was in the pool And I thought I never want to leave Into the pool Out of the pool On the plane Into the pool Out of the pool Into the plane Out That's so bad You know we did We did a similar thing Where we went to Where did we go? Italy or Spain We went to Spain for a wedding Yeah And when we were booking it Someone said to me We'll go in now And we'll do this And we'll get out and we'll go Yeah And then it started coming up to her. Like, why did we just not stay for three more days and get actual money out of this?

25:49Denis:I know. Do you know what I mean? I know what was wrong with me. And they were all there for a week and I was, oh, busy. Depressed as shit going home then. Dragging in, dragging out. But it was so nice. My God, I loved it. And the wedding was the priests. The priests in Ireland need to shake it up. They need to, well, they need to stop being 100 years old. That's one way of putting it. Well. If that's your only complaint They did But we've no They're all so old And just I don't know This fella I'd say he was like 50 Maybe Maybe late 40s Young Kind of Did he come into the priesthood Later in life I bet he did I don't know He's young like I don't know He was cool And he was like He was doing it all But he was also Kind of given a wink Of like Do you know I know I don't believe in all of it Just like With us He's with This communion It's not really Jesus.

26:43He's with it. Yeah. Yeah. He didn't. Yeah. I just believed he was just a normal man who has a job and he, he believes and he loves his job. But no, no, Mark, can I take a little guess here? Huh?

26:55Denis:Was he a good looking priest? It's all right. It's all right. I wouldn't be. Was he a handsome priest? It's okay. Yeah. Would that have anything to do with you feeling like he was nicer? I suppose. But he was very funny. He was very like Like he did a selfie at the end And all the women were giggling Oh he's a guess And then he was kind of making little jokes He said like The best couples Contain three And then he was like I'm not suggesting now That you get adventurous The third is our lord But a funny little joke Never would have guessed Little joke Little joke there about About having a threesome On the church altar he wouldn't get it do you think he was trying to get in there soft launch himself as a third maybe he was squeezing in yeah I'd say he probably was do you think that's it yeah I think people are doing that a lot now riding priests uh no I don't think I think I think that was happening before no um no people are soft launching the thirds oh god yeah all the time oh yeah here's Julie comes to stay with us once a month Julie she comes in from New York yeah big Jules comes in yeah yeah yeah and why is she staying there no one knows yeah yeah pampas grass out in the front there's a bit of that there is isn't there but I think more so now than before you'd see it in groups of friends and you just pick up on god they're they're very friendly they're getting on and she doesn't seem to mind yeah they're getting on very well giggling or like you know old big jewels would sit down and Peter's hand would be on the chair oh what do you like we go way back yeah yeah yeah A bit of that Definitely A bit of that But I'd highly recommend Malta I didn't see anything How long would you say that for?

28:46Oh you could stay a week You could You could I didn't see many of the gays though I was I was sold a lie You told me this I know I think it's actually just like A safe Comfortable Place Where you don't Get destroyed by the government And you don't get killed Alright fair but it's not like which is a bonus but yeah they're not

29:09Denis:going swinging down the street yeah it's just like because you told me this that it was like you know what's Malton known for and I was like it's the unsinkable aircraft and you were like and it's like the gay you know capital it's capital of like queer rights I was like they're super religious there though but not but I think like this fellow was like they are but also carry on they don't hate people yeah which is easy isn't it it's actually quite easy tell me go back and tell me about the house? The house in the Hoover and all that. No, we were talking about compliments. Okay. Actually, do you know what happened?

29:42Denis:I was out. I did a bit of gardening. Oh my God, lads. I'm having the best time gardening. I finally convinced her to get some petunias for her garden. She was arguing that they were a little bit twee. How do they look? Petunias are, if you were entering into the Tidy Tones in Ireland, you would put hanging baskets of these all over the place. Purple? Purple, stripy, stripy purple and they hang over the basket and then they get a plaque for Tidy Tones. Do you know the ones? I know them. Really easy. if you want to get like a really colourful garden just bang these things in and they're cheap so anyway planted a million of these they're so nice they're flying in the nice weather and stuff but there's a lot of neighbours out and around and I was hosing the the garden and it made it started making a very rude noise oh a fart yeah it started going oh and I couldn't stop it I couldn't stop from doing it and I actually just gave up because I saw you know you'd see a little side eye because the fence is quite small yeah yeah yeah what are you going to do say that's not me not me that's not me that's the hose um but besides my farting hose um yeah compliments yes right so i noticed that when lisa complimented me about being the best hoover in the world i went off with such gusto hoovering i was buzzing yeah and then i realized now she's very good for compliments right she's great but I realized, God, I think men in particular are starved for compliments.

31:07Yeah.

31:08Denis:But then I was like, I can probably only apply that to straight men at the moment. Then I was wondering, what's it like over in your world? Like, do you receive a lot of compliments or are you starved as we are? Look at the face of them. I receive a lot of compliments. You receive a lot of compliments. but maybe I do yeah but maybe from people strangers right but if you were let's say getting off the because you have a strange like almost conveyor belt excuse me

31:47Denis:of fanboys and girls that are like you know saying oh I wouldn't mind if I or whatever but like life in general Can you speak for the peasants? Do gays like compliments or do they receive enough compliments? Do they receive compliments? I think so, yeah. A straight man is never going to compliment on a straight man. Do you think? Rarely. It's not going to happen. You have a lovely shirt. Never. I like your shoes. Never in a million years. Oh no, we would, yeah. Or you'd have people around you, for sure. You'd have friends. You'd have girls saying you look great. You're fat. Yeah, yeah. would the gays compliment each other they would yeah they'd be slow enough they might be slow to to let you have it but they would yeah yeah depends what they want like if you you know the way with straight guys I bumped into my gay friend and they look nice I'd say you look great but what I'm saying is you would you wouldn't hesitate right no but with straight guys it do definitely there's even a hesitation for me like as in like Like if, this is so bad, right?

33:00Denis:It's so backwards, but also it does kind of make me laugh for some reason. Yeah. It's like if I complimented someone and said, oh, like that's a nice shirt. Someone else would say, do you want to kiss him? Gay. Yeah, kiss him. I wouldn't say they'd say gay. But what about, so I was in Cardiff. I was having my chips at half past two in the morning. What were you doing at half past two in the morning? While I was out socializing. And I was watching drunk men. And they weren't dangerous aggressive. They were like jolly friendly men. Yeah. Having a laugh. And then a huge tank of a muscly man came walking down the street in like a bodybuilder.

33:42And they were all around him. Yeah. Like clapping and squeezing his arms and like smacking his arse and telling him he was amazing. What's that?

33:51Denis:Yeah, but you meet those same lads three o 'clock the next day and he walks down the street and they're not they're gonna have their head down is that it it's like it's spilling out of them right but they were they were like like they'd seen Arnold's one because all the inhibitions are gone and they can say it and it doesn't it's not like a threat to them or whatever you know they can be like look at the big muscly lads and whatever I've definitely experienced something like that like where you know you see some lad and you go like well I'd be a little bit freer I think with that stuff anyway you know you kind of compliment the guy in a night out and they love it yeah but they truly love it because it doesn't happen at all but that's that's it's spilling out here you have a few drinks or like jeffers see lads at the end of a night they go i love you you're the best but like they'll never even talk about that yeah i know i know it's like we talk i think we talk about this so much that it sounds like it's almost hack yeah but i don't think it's proved anyway but they wouldn't say it over a coffee they have to be drunk no i don't i don't think there's any i think you only say it to a lad when he's on the verge of like yeah you know things are bad things are bad like yeah then someone will say it which is you know good too late but like if you walked in with a new pair of runners and you're any bit proud of them like they'd smell it like they wouldn't be saying oh lovely they take the piss lovely new runners you win the lotto they'd be like oh you saying bolt is in you saying bolt is in you know you get over to America and over to the Olympics like rude but what about your man who from Galway well lad On the television Oh In Love Island There's a lot of that there So Do we talk about that Is that our bonus No no No let's talk a little bit about it Yeah There's a lot of that A lot of what They can't be happy for him No Because He's making something of himself Do people know what we're talking about There's an Irish footballer Is it I actually don't know if he's footballer Gaelic footballer I think from Galway I think captain Of this Senior team is it like oh okay i think so i don't know i missed i missed oh he's a big he's a big deal and he's he's he's abandoned he's quit he's let everyone down he's left the football to go on love island and it has divided the nation oh his name is sean is it fitzgerald 25 young lovely hot piece ready to go he's ready for telly he looks for telly oh that's i didn't know this at oh yeah that's the whole story he's like a huge county player and he's oh my god he's not he plays for Galway like the county like big big news and he's given it all up to go on that's our love island that's hilarious and the nation is split some people think it's well sure lads weren't allowed go on like holidays to America and stuff after university or whatever because they need to play with Kilshanik once there's training you know and need to turn up to 50 trainers but there'd be lads who'd be way at the end of the bench like never getting on and they'd be getting calls from selectors and everyone going like we're in the name of God you think you're after yeah you'll let us down and you'll never play for this club ever again I don't care if she's pregnant I don't care if you're getting engaged oh I didn't know about that yeah that's the whole story because he's kind of famous already I don't know I just heard about like some of the stick and stuff he was getting yeah oh I've screenshotted all the comments I'm going to read them out later So we'll chat about this more, but just one point that I want to make off is I think the most disappointing thing now is like this kind of, oh, it's like everything's cringe.

37:33Yeah.

37:34Denis:Right. So everything's cringe. Everything's crap. Don't do anything. Don't embarrass yourself. Yeah. Blah, blah, blah. Like, again. This is cringe. Yeah, it's cringe. Why get up on a bed? There's some fella, I'm sure, watching this from school saying, what in the name of God? Oh no there is someone Someone had already communicated Through a friend of mine Remarking on What in the name of God Was I wearing With that gay fella But I have to say That the same guy Would definitely love to wear What I'm wearing Yeah but he would never No Yeah But you know what I mean Like there's so much stuff there Now it's like You see it on loads of stuff On Instagram as well It's like They'll say oh You know they've been doing a parody Of someone who's doing something And it's like Just Let them off Give it a break Oh I have a lot to say No one will do anything I have a lot to say and I was catching up on it all the other day.

38:19I have another question though about sport. What on earth was going on with the people of Islington? Oh. What?

38:32Denis:With the Arsenal. Why is this? They haven't won. Or are you saying they can't have their parade at all, is it? They can have their parade. Or they say win straight pride. There it was. The last two weeks. blocking up my roads blocking up my roads all the roads were closed around my house for weeks Arsenal won well they lost no no no so they won the league we have to be really careful we have to be more careful with this football stuff than we do with any of the game stuff we talk about because they'll come after us but they lost there's no way of winning this conversation because there's so many different factions Paris so they won the league what league?

39:15Denis:the Premier League Yeah Right By accident kind of No There was no No they didn't win it by accident Someone So look Loads of people Excluding Arsenal fans Really don't like Arsenal Yeah So you've got You know Chelsea Man United Liverpool And Tottenham And Tottenham nearly got relegated as well But that's a different story What's that mean That means they nearly went down to the league below Oh Which would have been crazy Because Tottenham Like are a rich club and stuff And shouldn't be Probably down there Anyway, whatever. So Arsenal are known as kind of like bottling it. Okay. So there's been a good few years where they've come close to winning the league.

39:58Denis:And then after Christmas, they implode after the Christmas break. And the pressure piles on them. And then City just win it or someone else wins it. Right. So this was meant to be happening again. And they were getting a lot of stick because they were doing a lot of like TikTok stuff and a lot of Instagram stuff and whatever. In the end, anyway, they win the league. And it's like one of the biggest droughts, I think, for their club history, I think, for like a league or whatever. But they won it. Great, right? So happy days. I'm sure someone has to win. Is this every year? I'm sure why even do it?

40:30Give everyone a medal. It's every year, yeah.

40:32Denis:Have you no, have you no, like, when you were football? I don't understand how. What, when you were younger in Ennis? Like, there must have been loads of people watching Man United win the treble and all this stuff. and I never got it because there's four or five different leagues sure one of them wins every year so yeah but like different ones have different prestige and different ways of winning it so like you can get into the league which is just a select amount of people at the top right and then if you don't get enough points you don't win enough matches you go down below and people come up right and you get loads of money and stuff and like TV rights and stuff to stay up there so it's prestigious then there's cups that kind of everyone gets involved in.

41:13Denis:And then you... What did they lose then the next week? So they lost the Champions League final, which is a big one. What did they win? Premier League. They won the English. Basically, they won the English. Let's call it the call. It's only English. They won't like this. They won't like any of this. So it's like Manchester. Yeah, so like England. So they have a league. So there's like six... But they pass it around between. Can I explain the fucking offside rule or something? Do you know what I mean? What do you mean they pass it? They don't pass it around. It's really hard to win it. Yeah. So yes, like different clubs win it.

41:50Denis:Often. Not often. I mean, only one person can win it once a year. Who wins it most of the time? City have been winning a lot of it. Who is City? Manchester. Yeah. But that's because they've had loads of money pumped into the club. Right? Liverpool won it, which is great. Okay. Who else? Chelsea, Arsenal. Man United then have been on a big downturn. 5 or 6 yeah and then you have something like Leicester winning it which is insane it's basically who's pumping the money into the clubs right and then Champions League is Europe Champions League then is Europe but the weird thing with the Champions League is that PSG won it Paris yeah but PSG are like funded by like massive Middle Eastern oh i think it's a guitar oh i see um so they have pumped tons of money into this and usually that didn't work because they had these big name stars in the dressing room that would like basically do whatever they want they're gonna pay loads of money but now their manager came in and kind of like got them all in tow and now they have a fairly unbelievable team okay um unfortunately the money did work and so they beat them which could that must be tough imagine winning the league which is something saying you're going to bottle the whole time and you win it and that's amazing and then a week later you lose like the biggest European competition but are they going to do it again they'll try and do next year they don't get into the final though straight away they have to go from the start again and go all the way up Jesus never ends when would they start it again next week no it'll start again in the autumn like they'll start kicking off again they'll get a little summer break right well wait the World Cup's on though isn't it that's now the World Cup's on so they'll be heading over for the World Cup they'll all be in that some of the players yeah sure it's great for them but what were you saying what was the fuss about what do you mean just because they the parade they I'd never seen anything like it well I was gone I left the country you weren't even there you couldn't go anywhere you couldn't move the roads were blocked there was 1.5 million people or something 5 million say 2 I don't know 5 million would be all of Ireland London like the whole of Islington Borough well it's interesting what's interesting about Arsenal though is that they had a lot of black I think it was 26 million it was 75 million out in the streets they had a lot of black players that I know they're good have played with them at times when there wasn't a lot of black players so then they have they have huge like black support I know anything I've read they seem to be kind of generally good I think I think if you say that no there's always an asterisk I'm sure they've if you say that no they'll there'll be something bad it's important you can't win this right because if you say oh this part of it's good that part of it's good well you the rest of them will come after you it's over now it's over now for a bit the world cup is starting we nearly have to go have you something to have with questions oh that was my question yeah i do have a question i still don't care but yeah i know yeah i think i kept your attention for a good bit of that yeah i wish do you know what i think i'm sad that i will never care so much about anything outside of myself the way you are your own arsenal the way that some people are in floods of tears screaming and shouting and jumping on the road I have never cried or jumped and shouted on the road about anything I get what you're saying it is actually so I used to be a big supporter of a certain club which I'm not mentioning yeah and it was the coolest thing and it does feel unbelievable I know when they win something big like but the problem is is that when they lose it is the worst feeling ever.

45:42Denis:It is great. I think it's really cool. I just I'll never understand it. I can't believe though that like back in the day did your dad ever try and get you to support a football team? No they're not into it. What about like uncles, cousins anyone down the road? A couple of friends around but not really no. And you never like I could never have so much Have you ever watched a match? Yeah kind of Would you bring me to a match? Yeah we should definitely go Oh the noise of it Oh jeez It's so hostile to me The hum But we'll get you to wear little earplugs No we'll get you the ear defenders When am I going to get attacked That hum of men I think it's definitely Depending on the club Depending on the club and the seats Like we're not going to go in You know to the season ticket holders Into the ultras or whatever I think by and large like I actually can't speak for this at the moment but like by and large they rooted a lot of that stuff out so like into especially the bigger clubs so you know it's great when you say that but no I'm saying it with a massive caveat obviously there's people who still experience all that 100 % I'm not taking away from that but like it was mental like in the 80s early 90s it was nuts and they did you know the reason they did it actually it was not because they wanted to change the game or anything like that you know around the time of the hooliganism and stuff it was because of the sky contracts oh so there was loads of money to be made so they needed to make it a family uh more family friendly there you go i'll bring you to the game that'd be great i'd rather die um we've got a listener question in yeah so this is less of a listener question and more of a listener statement okay but it's not the first time that we've heard this um i want to do this actually came from tiktok i also just want to give a shout out to everyone who compliment our compliments.

47:33Denis:Everyone who leaves a comment on YouTube wherever you are all over the place, we are reading them. Oh, do you know what? I'm recommending. Keep it up. Recommending to other people. Oh yeah, yeah, 100%. It's really, really obvious. Thank you. Yeah, it's great. So again, to our fans, if you've found this and you're secretly listening, which are a lot of you secretly listening, and I hope you're enjoying it, just tell someone else. So, this person, Annie, says, and this is not the first one of these, but now that there's been a few i have to bring it up lads i've been listening for a solid six months if not more but i didn't know which of you were which i am shocked i tell you i and then we put in a little right i love it will be discussed as is happening now and i look forward to discussion if i may let me just point you towards dennis's styling choices in this particular video as one visual misdirection.

48:30Oh, she's calling you a faggot. No.

48:37Denis:I don't think Annie would use that word. That's what she said. I actually just made up the rest of the comment. It was just an F-bomb right in there. What are you making at? That's what she's trying to say. Is that, I think some people listen and never watch. So they just have the voices and they have the picture on the some people aren't as invested as we want them to be like you're just passing well people invest in different levels people watch the clips people listen people know what's in our bins never been on Instagram or TikTok or they've just seen the thing on Spotify or Apple and they're looking at the logo picture of two people there and often that might be it so then they make up is that what they're saying?

49:23but she's saying from the blouse so she is watching

49:25Denis:yeah no she's saying you look like the straight man I don't know about that is that what she wants I think you do have but listen to me like Lisbon and Splutter but I think I think you do have maybe she's watching with no sound why would she do that well oh they do um oh my god do you know what I did yesterday it's the fucking worst thing ever I was trying to get work done really late right and the cat starts going oh do you know what happens when a cat starts going licking just in its mouth just going yeah do you know what that is a sign of it's gonna get sick it's gonna get sick everywhere I get this oh do you if it adds to reflux you get the watery yeah yeah yeah yeah the thing where you go oh so I give a shout to Lisa right because I can hear the cat I go Lisa cat's gonna get sick right I've got like a laptop top me and whatever and she's She is doing nothing.

50:27Denis:Right. Yeah. She goes, who's going to get sick? Who do you think is going to get sick? Like, if it's not me. Yeah. There's no one else inside her. So she runs out. She hunts the cat down the road, down the hall. And it starts going, right? Get sick. At a plant earlier on, right? Can't stop things from eating plants, right? Get sick. I now can't remember my point in telling the story. What were we just talking about? Oh, yeah. The noise. No, the. Watching this with no volume. any culture so then so then she goes on and cleans up the sick right but she uses a ball of tissue throws it into the toilet packs it all up flushes the toilet blocks the toilet blocked right do you know what I had to do then I had to unblock the toilet obviously and I came in I couldn't get anything up the toilet and you know I had to put I just in the end I got sick of it and I put my hand in the toilet yeah up the U bend I had to like Fish out the stick I had to finger the tissue Out of the toilet It was And you could I Touched it Yeah Fingered it And then it went Yeah Up Oh it's lovely when it all goes It was one of the worst experiences Of all time I wanted to burn my hands They're always getting sick Cats But they keep eating stuff They're not meant to eat Like it's like Thank God no It's a little plant that Is not poisonous to him Because it's You don't want to have those around They'll eat anything He loves eating stuff He's huge would he know a bit of natural instinct there no none not at all he's just gonna get sick on the floor I do want to go back to Annie because I think you've avoided it somewhat you've one minute but I think you do have some you do have some straight like manners looks I think the way you I think I think it's from especially from your neck up the way you kind of I'm here now to to tell you something emotionless emotionless rigid exhausted exhausted could I have three kids I think yeah and you're sick of them okay come on over for a bonus episode on headstuffplus.com where you can come on a second date with your internet boyfriends and hear all the dirt that we're not allowed to tell here to the general public we have new episodes every Thursday if you have a comment question or story send us a DM on Instagram or TikTok lovely
