I'd like to talk about some upcoming changes to the show, the production, and Patreon. First and most importantly, thank you. It's been an incredible five years crafting our tale at the little station on the rear end of the planet. Four seasons, countless hours of work, and so many messages, comments, and words of encouragement from all of you. I know I also speak for our entire cast when I say that you have our everlasting gratitude and appreciation. If this show ever brought someone a smile, brightened a difficult day, or helped even one person forget their troubles for an hour, then we accomplished exactly what we set out to do.
0:49Now, I know some of you are maybe waiting for the, but don't worry, friends. We're simply taking our standard and completely normal human between season break. And yes, Virginia, there absolutely will be a season five, which brings me to the changes. 90 Degree South is expensive to produce. While we are fortunate to have some incredibly generous Patreon supporters and contributors, the overall cost of producing the show has continued to grow. There are voice actors I want to pay, or pay better than I have been able to, along with editing software, hosting fees, music licenses, countless other production costs.
1:30And because of that, it's time for me to do something I said I never would. We're going to begin introducing advertisements into a public version of the show. Now, trust me when I say this is not an easy decision for me. From day one, I promised no ads ever. And bending that promise honestly pains me more than I can properly express. but I also want the show to continue to grow and to remain something worth creating for all of you. That said, I believe I found a fair compromise, one that helps me to bend that original promise without completely breaking it. Beginning next month, Patreon will be consolidated into a single$2 monthly tier.
2:12I'm not trying to be greedy. I'm not trying to squeeze people for money. Truly, my goal is simply to help the show sustain itself. so I'm getting rid of the higher tiers. There will only be one single$2 tier. And for$2 a month, Patreon supporters will receive ad-free episodes, access to episodes one day early, and full access to the behind-the-scenes companion podcast, Something About the Ice. For our current Patreon supporters, when you have the opportunity, please go into the page and reduce your pledge to the new single$2 tier. I've frozen all Patreon payments for some time and to allow people to adjust their tears without being charged again at a higher level.
2:59Thank you again for five amazing years of support, kindness, and belief in this strange little story we've built together. And we look forward to bringing you Season 5.
