Overview In this episode, Krista Williams hosts Dr. Colleen Cutcliffe, CEO and Co-Founder of Pendulum, to explore GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) hormones, their effects on sugar cravings, and natural metabolic boosters. The conversation delves into the science behind GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and the importance of gut health in metabolic regulation.

---

Key Concepts Discussed

  1. Understanding GLP-1
  2. Definition: GLP-1 is a hormone that plays a critical role in regulating appetite and insulin secretion.
  3. Function: Signals the brain to indicate fullness after meals and regulates sugar metabolism.
  1. The Role of the Gut
  2. Gut-Brain Connection: A healthy microbiome significantly influences mental clarity and reduces cravings.
  3. Microbiome's Impact: The gut microbiota can affect metabolic health and cravings.
  1. GLP-1 Drugs vs. Natural Alternatives
  2. Drugs like Ozempic:
  3. Mimic natural GLP-1, but can lead to dependency and potential long-term issues with insulin signaling.
  4. Risks include possible deafness of insulin receptors due to overstimulation.
  5. Natural Solutions:
  6. Pendulum’s GLP-1 probiotic that utilizes specific strains (Akkermansia muciniphila and Clostridium butyricum) to stimulate the body's natural GLP-1 production.
  1. Importance of Diet
  2. Food Types:
  3. Fiber-rich foods, polyphenols (e.g., berries, dark chocolate), and prebiotics are essential in supporting gut health.
  4. Processed foods and stress can negatively affect the microbiome and GLP-1 production.
  1. Personal Experiences
  2. Krista shares her journey with Pendulum’s GLP-1 probiotic and how it has helped her manage cravings and overall metabolic health.

0:13Welcome to Almost 30. It is Lindsay and Krista. Greetings. So happy to have you guys. How are you? How are you? Let's just leave a little silence. Yeah. I'm watching way too many kids shows where like, they'll be like, and we're going to open the door. Exactly. Did you know that there's research that says you have to ask someone three times, how are you before you get the actual answer? honestly if you do that to someone there's for me if you do that to me there's a 90 % chance I'll cry you're like how are you and then you're like how are you and then you're like how are you like at first I'm like it's like the masks just come off well it's like how they say it's like how are you and you're like oh good how are you and then it's like how are you and then it's like how are you like or how it's all about voice and tone are you we're like hey how are you this is the thing with frequency and tone you say how are you no one is going to drop in well because they're going to say here too yeah i'm good how are you i'm good you're going to match it hey how are you instead of sitting down like how yeah yeah and it's actually funny because there's oftentimes in interactions with friends or whatever, where I will say, how are you more than once?

1:40And I can tell that they think I just didn't remember that I asked it already. Oh, interesting. You know, like where you like first see someone when you open the door and you're like, hi, how are you? And then you sit down and you're like, okay, so how are you? And it's like this weird thing with some people where it trips them up. They're like, I already told you I'm good. Do you know what I mean? But that's usually the people that don't want to go there. That aren't well. Yeah. That don't want to go there. That don't want to go there. I remember I was on vacation with a friend and I asked her the same question three times and she goes, hey, you already asked me that three times.

2:15And I've. But did you know you were asking me three times? No, I was uncomfortable. Yeah. I was uncomfortable on this trip. Yeah. And so I was just repeating myself. Like, so how's your mom? Literally, she's like, you've already asked me that. And I was like, I'll never be the same. Yeah. help me i have to like call myself out on that when that happens where i'm unconscious to like things i've already asked or like yeah i was outside or they or they gave me information already that like i asked you know what i mean i hate when that happens because i know that i'm actually not very present yeah you know it's not a fun place to be but yeah i know i was i was unconscious i was nervous i was outside of myself you know whatever the usual i'm a fucking person dude I'm a person I repeated myself once so sorry I'm so sorry just answer the question but I do that's actually one of my pet peeves is when people tell me the same story more than once mm-hmm like they don't remember they told it yeah I don't like that yeah I was on that date with this dude and it was like our fourth date and he had told me the same story he told me before and I was like, ah.

3:23Yeah, no. I just don't. Is this talk track going to be our entire life? Mm-hmm. Or this lack of awareness. I don't like the lack of awareness. That's what I don't like, lack of awareness. Because like even if they're like, wait, did I tell you this before? Exactly. And I'd be like, yeah, it's okay. But if you want to tell it again, it's okay. And when it's long and drawn out and you're like. Or they're like hitting the same. The same notes. The same notes. And you're just like, oh, like you did the same gesture last time. I know. No, I mean, I could be, you know, patient, whatever. I just, I feel like there's a lot of things to talk about in life.

3:57Yeah. And it's not saying the same thing. It's not repeating the same stories. 100%. 100%. So today's conversation, we're going to talk about GLP-1s. We're talking about GLP-1s, which are huge in the world and life. This is something that I think is such an interesting conversation. I think for me, very interesting because my dad has Alzheimer's and I actually, there's a lot of research around using GLP-1s to support Alzheimer's because Alzheimer's is essentially diabetes of the brain. And so how could a GLP-1 support in balancing your blood glucose and your blood sugar and your cravings and support you in that?

4:37Also, my dad is an addict of things. And how could it support addicts? Because it hits on the centers of your brain that support an addiction to sugar, even an addiction to gambling or alcohol or whatever. And it's very interesting. And I think we're going to be the generation that sees what this drug does or how this drug impacts people. I know people in my family that are on it that have really liked it. It's been really helpful for them. They haven't had any negative side effects. I know so many women in my community are on it. They've really loved it. I don't know if it lasts forever and sort of what they're wanting to do, but it's fascinating.

5:17And I think what we're interested to do is provide information and insights and especially alternatives. So if you're someone that can't afford it, or if you're someone that wants to find a different way to balance your blood sugar, to reduce your cravings, using a GLP-1 probiotic, because you can have probiotic strains that help your body naturally create GLP-1, like the one from Pendulum, which we're going to talk about today. You can have that same effect without the drug. Yes. So this really helps your blood glucose levels. So you're not having those spikes that helps curb your cravings and appetite.

5:53Yeah, it's really interesting. We're living in a very interesting time. I was just looking at a company brand out there who is like now going to be providing very specific support for people on GLP ones. Because. Oh, interesting. I saw that too recently. Because it's like a, I don't exactly know like what that looks like. But, um, yeah, it's something that like so many people are on, but there's not really a support system, uh, that people feel comfortable leading into and feel comfortable, like really talking about their experience. I feel like it's kind of a, in some ways, like a hush hush thing with some people.

6:38Yeah. But in my community, it's in my community, it's hush hush because the women that are taking it, and I know so many, are people that sell things related to their body and the way that they look. Yeah. Fitness influencers, fitness instructors, wellness influencers, beauty influencers, whatever, actresses, actors, like they're all people that part of their thing is that. Yeah. And then it's like, do you disclose that when you're selling other things that are related to like how you, yeah, it's, it's, it's a little confusing. Uh, I don't know how I feel about that actually, but, um, yeah, I do think people need support.

7:15Cause I also think it's going to affect so many aspects of your life, like in a positive, maybe some funky ways, um, or maybe your relationships change because of this, because maybe your appearance changes or your confidence changes. And it's like a positive for a lot of people, but then how does that affect your relationships. Maybe there are some like physical effects that like you didn't expect. Yeah. Because a lot of people lose muscle. Yeah. I guess you have to be very careful or precise about the amount of protein you're taking. Dr. Peter Atiyah talked about that. He's like, you just have to make sure to get as much protein as you would before.

7:54But I think you can tell too when people lose a lot of muscle. Yeah. Yeah. Because it's hard to build with that much. I don't know. Uh-huh. So yeah, it's just really, it's really interesting to see, but I'm hopeful that it just provides a lot of health benefits for the people that need it you know who knows it's like probably a thing like botox too or even filler where it's like you kind of people think that they know what's going on but we don't really know we're kind of testing a lot of this stuff yeah vaccine stuff like we're just part of a generation that's kind of figuring things out for the first time the long-term effects of i wonder if the administration will like a lot of different drugs research this too.

8:31I think that kind of be quicker to kind of like they're doing the vaccines where they're like doing the autism study, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like I wonder if just with certain big pharmaceutical things, they would research it sooner. I don't know. I know, but I think it's cool that there are products from people like pendulum, which I've take, I actually take their GLP one probiotic and I really love it. So that's what, what I do. And I've talked about before, just in my body and weight journey, mine was so much of the peptides like ceramorelin, which is not semi-glutide, and then literally transforming my entire life from the inside out.

9:05Just really supported in this. But the GLP-1 probiotic I do take from Pendulum, and I really, really love it because the butyrate and P9 stimulate the GLP-1 in your body, which is the hormone that tells your pancreas to produce insulin, slowing down the emptying of your stomach and signaling to your brain that you're full. So I do feel more full and satiated when I have this. And I think some people don't know that when they're experiencing these cravings for sugar, for fast food, for like high fat food, it is an imbalance in the gut. You know, and it is kind of the inability for the body to naturally produce that GLP-1 hunger, unhunger hormone.

9:43So yeah, it's incredible. All of their products are amazing. I take the metabolic daily. Yeah, it's a good one. But yeah, Colleen is just so knowledgeable. And yeah, I learned so much. I wanted this one to be really clear to the point and just kind of devoid of fluff. So this one is just research, science, information about this, information on what you can do, and information on sort of what's happening in the industry. I just wanted to educate people as much as possible. So our intention here is to support in the conversation. If you're having it with your friends, yourself, if you want to learn more about things like this, if you want to support yourself in not using the drug and doing things naturally, this is a great, great, great option that Lindsay and I love.

10:22And we also have a discount, of course, if you guys want to get started on taking this GLP-1 supporting probiotic. Yes. Go to PendulumLife.com slash GLP-1 and use code ALMOST30 at checkout for 20 % off membership first orders. Again, that's PendulumLife.com slash GLP-1 and use code almost 30 at checkout for 20 % off membership first orders. Yeah. And then again, you take the metabolic daily. I take it too. And that's one of their probiotics that helps support your healthy metabolism, which is incredibly helpful and important for your body and functioning the way that it should and feeling and looking your best.

11:00So that's a really good supplement too. Yeah. I love it. Okay. Enjoy this one. Thank you all so much for listening and we will see you on the other side. See you soon. Bye. This will be huge because I know this conversation, I mean, everybody that I know is. It's so relatable. We all do that, right? You're like, okay, I'm just going to have this, you know, the whole bag of chips is gone. Yes, I know. Um, and we're, we're, we're rolling. So we can just start. Like, I think that's, that's been my journey too, is people are like, oh, just have a bite of a cookie or have one cookie. And I'm like, I don't think you understand who I am or how I roll.

11:36I will have 12 and it's act and it's no joke. It's not cute. It's not a joke. It's always been my journey. I think Elizabeth Gilbert has talked about in the past, there's two types of people with food. There's abstainers and then moderators. So there's people that have to abstain from the treats, from the sugar, from the savory, the salty, whatever the things are. And then there's people that can have things in moderation. And I've always been someone that's had to abstain rather than having in moderation. And I think it's so relatable. I think a lot of people have that craving or have that need to overeat sweets to overeat things that they're really interested in or excited about.

12:13And I've always been someone like that. I'm like that too. I have to abstain because there are people who can open a chocolate bar and have one square and then wrap it back up and put it away. And like, I have just never been one of those people. It's actually easier for me to just never taste than to try to do that. Same. Sometimes like people I've, I have brands send me food and stuff. And I'm like, it's funny because if it's a food I actually like, I don't want the brand to send it to me. But if it's a food I don't like, I'm fine with the brand sending it to me. It's like, it's like the opposite effect.

12:46And people are like, Oh, I want you to try this. I'm like, no, I don't just try. It's like, it'll be a thing. But yeah, it's like the sugar is so palatable, the salty, so palatable. So we were talking about before, you know, in people's journeys, when they are people that like savory, like sweets, or find themselves to be people that have a hard time eating in moderation. I think the research around GLP-1s and the research around understanding cravings and understanding their relationship to sugar and cravings has been huge. And I know you guys have an amazing new supplement that helps people stimulate naturally their GLP-1s.

13:24So I'm excited to talk about that because I really wanna give people an option for those that are interested in Ozempic or manjaro or trisepetide, all of these things that are just making such waves in the market that we don't really know the implications of. We don't really know what's going to happen in the end to these with so many people being medicated on them. But let's start just a little bit more at the beginning around the gut and the gut's relationship to metabolic health. Can you tell me a little bit more about that so that people can understand, first of all, their body before we talk about any changes or fixes?

13:57Yeah, I think traditionally we've all thought about probiotics as things that we take for upset tummy. So you've got diarrhea, constipation, gas, bloating. And one of the things that's been uncovered over the last 10 or 15 years is that our gut is actually tied to all of our different organ systems. And so it goes beyond just our GI distress, and it is linked to our metabolism. It's linked to our inflammatory responses. It's even linked to our brain. And so what we've really focused on is this link between our gut and metabolism. And when you think about it, everything you eat after it goes through your stomach is metabolized by your gut microbiome.

14:35And so if you are missing any components or functions there, you don't have an optimized metabolism. Your metabolic health is not as good as it could be. And when you're able to metabolize those foods better, it shows up as better metabolic health, but it actually also shows up as better digestion. So you kind of get a two for one.

14:56You know how in your 20s, your body starts slowing down in ways you don't notice at first? Definitely started for me in like my late 20s, maybe early 30s. Your joints feel a little stiffer, skin less plump, energy dips. Yeah. Okay. That's when I started paying attention to collagen. Paleo Valley's bone broth protein is made from 100 % grass-fed, grass-finished beef bones, It's slow simmered from small scale regenerative farms. They do it right. I am obsessed. I'm like kind of holding myself back because I am so obsessed for their bone broth protein. I actually have it in my little cup over there.

15:33I love the chocolate. It is packed with collagen to support skin, hair, nails, gut health, and joints. Plus it's clean. It can be unflavored if you want the unflavored and gently processed with no chemicals at all or additives. I love adding it to coffee, to smoothies, or just hot water like I do with my chocolate. It tastes like a creamy chocolate or vanilla milkshake without the sugar. It's so good. It's basically all the benefits of slow simmered bone broth in 30 seconds, giving you 13 to 15 grams of protein per serving to help you stay fuller and support metabolism. You can head to paleovalley.com slash almost 30 or use the code 830 at checkout for 15 % off your first purchase.

16:19Again, my favorite is the chocolate bone broth protein. I will make sure to put this with hot water. Sometimes I'll add like a little dash of milk, even though you don't really need it. They have like a really clean coconut powder in there that gives it that creaminess, but it is so delicious. I'm telling everyone about it. Again, that's paleovalley.com slash almost 30. The code is A30, A30 at checkout for 15 % off your purchase. When I think about pregnancy prep, there's already so much to hold physically, emotionally, mentally, all of it. And honestly, I don't want supplements to be another thing I'm stressing about.

16:56That's why in my first pregnancy, I really trusted Ritual. Their essential prenatal feels very intentional and well thought out. The ingredients to how it's designed. And I like knowing it's clinically backed and made with traceable ingredients like choline, folate, and omega-3 without unnecessary extras. I've also really appreciated the experience of taking it. It's hard to take pills in pregnancy, especially in that first trimester. The capsule is designed to be gentle, and it's one of the few prenatals I've tried that feels easy to incorporate into my routine, especially during those sensitive seasons.

17:28It has like a citrus essence that really makes it easy to take. And Ritual focuses on bioavailable nutrients and thoughtful delivery, including a delayed release capsule designed to dissolve in small intestines. That attention to detail really matters to me and I appreciate. So don't settle for less than evidence-based support. Save 25 % off your first month at ritual.com slash almost 30. That's ritual.com slash almost 30 for 25 % off your first month. Yeah. When people, so I remember in my early days when I was doing every single diet under the sun and just fad diet connoisseur, metabolism was a word that I heard.

18:08And I always just remember hearing fast metabolism equals burning fat. Can you talk a little bit about what the metabolism actually does in our body? Yes, it's such a broad statement. And I think that when we think about metabolism, we really think about it in terms of metabolism of sugar more specifically. And so your body's ability to metabolize sugar is just super important fundamentally. And we know that when we go through periods of intense stress, when we go as we age, when women go through menopause, there are a lot of things that can cause that metabolism to get worse. And so what we're really talking about is how well can your body metabolize the sugars that you're eating?

18:53and when you are not metabolizing well, you literally have a sugar high after you eat and then you have a sugar crash. Everybody has experiences at some point. But if you are metabolically unhealthy, you're going through your whole day with these highs and crashes and highs and crashes and that shows up for you in low energy in certain times of the day, brain fog after lunch, that post-lunch slump. Sometimes you have issues with sleeping well And so there's lots of things that show up when you're on this constant roller coaster. And so the more that you can temper that, the more kind of regular you're going to feel throughout the day.

19:31And that's really what we focus on, on metabolic health. So the metabolism is responsible for metabolizing sugar, right? So what is happening as we age that's damaging our metabolism or disability? What are some things that people are doing that's impacting their metabolism negatively? From a gut microbiome standpoint, some of the things that you can do that are impacting your metabolism are taking an antibiotic. If you have a bacterial infection, you should take an antibiotic. I'm not an anti-antibiotic-er, but don't go asking for an antibiotic and don't try to take one if you really don't need it.

20:09So antibiotics can be a actually quite well-known way to disrupt your metabolism by disrupting your gut microbiome. The other things that happen kind of as we age that can cause our microbiome to become less metabolically optimized are our diet. So if we don't have a diet that's high in fiber and polyphenols, we're not feeding these microbes that help us specifically with our metabolism. But then there are things that are out of our control. So when we go through periods of intense stress, we lose the diversity of these functions. As I was saying, when we travel and our circadian rhythm changes, we lose these certain functions.

20:47And so there's some things that we have some control over. And then there's things that are just part of life that can cause us to lose these functions in our microbiome and then therefore not have the optimized metabolism. And how would one person, you said polyphenols and fiber, what are some ways in which people could get polyphenols and fiber in their diet? So when we think about fiber, kind of think about the produce section of your grocery store. So when you go in there, all those big leafy greens, so things like kale and collard greens, asparagus, Jerusalem artichokes, these are huge, amazing sources of fiber.

21:24And then if you imagine walking over to your beans section, you know, black beans, lentils, all of those are also really rich in fiber. And so any recipes or any, you know, salads and foods that are incorporating those vegetables and those beans, those are all really, really great sources of fiber. and then polyphenols if we go back to the produce section um your berries so your raspberries um pomegranates are actually a huge source of polyphenols um and then green tea is actually also really um an important source of polyphenols and um red wine and dark chocolate always and like those are i just literally had dark chocolate like two minutes before we started i had to like wipe the dark chocolate from my but that was one that i you know what's funny is i was hating on myself, I had a few squares and then we started our interview and I will finish that after my interview as the treat.

22:15And also your source of polyphenols. Exactly. I'm like, this is why I'm doing it. So I've heard, you know, a lot about metabolic health lately as like a, one of the things that I think we overlooked culturally and societally as impacting so many different things of what we're doing. And the fact that so many different, so many Americans are metabolically damaged or metabolically unwell. Can you talk a little bit about some of the research that we've seen and just the increased prevalence of the conversation around metabolic health? Yes. I think traditionally when we thought about metabolism and metabolic disorder or metabolic syndrome, it's really been people with type 2 diabetes.

23:00Okay. If you have diabetes, you have metabolic syndrome. If you have prediabetes, you're on your path to type 2 diabetes. If you're obese, you're on your path to prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. And essentially, if you're aging, you're on this path and all of us are aging. And so we were all somewhere on this spectrum. And we used to think about it very squarely as if you have diabetes, then you really need to be thinking about your metabolism and everybody else is just kind of hanging out. What we now realize is that that's not the case. And in fact, almost all Americans are not optimal in their metabolic health.

23:38And you can, on the surface, look super healthy. You could never have been diagnosed with diabetes. You can even be thin and don't even look obese and be metabolically unhealthy. And it gets back to this thing of, are you metabolizing your sugars optimally? And lots of people have started to get access to these continuous glucose monitors And when people start wearing those, then you really start to get insights into, wow, how is my body responding to different sugars? And you might realize that there are certain foods that you've just been eating that you thought were all great, and they're not really that great for you.

24:11And so what's been uncovered through these diagnostic tests and through our understanding on metabolism is that all of us really probably have room to improve. Yeah, I did the continuous glucose monitor with levels for a while and it was fascinating. I mean, and things that impacted me didn't impact my sister and vice versa. Like I would compare with friends and I think a lot of the data can be generalized for a lot of people. You know, I know my dear friend, Jessie Glucose Goddess, she does like shares the graphs and charts, but it's not always the same for everybody from what I've seen. And it's actually been very surprising to see what I metabolize well and what I haven't.

24:51Have you had that experience? Did you ever wear a CGM? Oh yeah. What was your biggest discovery? What was you? Oh my gosh. Um, what is it called? It's, um, it's something that's in chips. It's a cassava flower. Cassava flower was through the roof and, um, fruits were not as bad as I thought. Like I thought fruit would be crazy. It was like also my blood or my blood glucose level would be impacted a lot by my workouts and my stress level way more than I thought. So it wasn't always just food. It was how stressed I was in the workouts that I was doing was also increasing my blood sugar level. I found the stress thing too, which is that if I was more tired or more stressed out, I could be doing the same thing and I would get these bigger spikes.

25:38But for me, the most surprising one was grapefruit juice. So I used to have like, you know, just like a little almost like shot of grapefruit juice in the morning because it made me feel so good. I was like, oh, it's got to be healthy. It's probably because all the vitamin C and how, you know, I'm just starting my day off right with this juice. And when I saw how that spiked my blood sugar, I was like, oh my gosh, well, think about fast forward 90 minutes later, that's when I'm having my crash. And so I would feel good in the moment. But the reason it was so surprising is because the thing that I thought was so good for me that made me feel so good in the moment was actually not that great for me.

26:17It was actually terrible for me. And I don't get the same spike with orange juice. And of course you can play those games where you eat your protein first and then you, you know, drink the juice. But I actually completely cut out grapefruit juice. When I saw those spikes, I was like, holy smokes, this is terrible. I know it's, it's, it is for me, the, the spikes, it's not just about the, the vanity or the health. It's, it's, I feel my energy is so much less throughout the day. And then also too, if I spike my blood sugar in the morning, I am off to the races and my body is looking to keep that blood sugar level high for the rest of the day.

26:51I'm craving more sweets. I'm craving more snacks. It's something that's like, it's something I have to keep up with through the day if I have that. So in the morning time is like the most important time for me to watch my blood glucose levels. Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. So it's awesome to wear those because you really do learn for you at different periods, like what's working or not working. Yeah. And when we talk about, you know, blood glucose and we talk about, um, diabetes and blood sugar, one of the conversations that we're having that so many people are talking about now is the GLP ones.

27:27Um, I know I have people in my family that have taken it. I know there's many of my friends that have taken it. People are taking it for, to lose weight. People are taking it for vanity. People are taking it for diabetes. There's, it's kind of running the gamut. I think it's probably been the biggest drug that's come on the scene since maybe Viagra or something like that. But I'd love to hear a little bit more about them. I think people kind of know what it does, but don't really know. So can you tell us a little bit about GLP-1s? Yeah, so the GLP-1 drugs that are on the market, so the Ozempic, Wagovi, Semaglutide, all of that family of GLP-1 drugs are actually mimicking your body's natural GLP-1 hormone.

28:10So your body actually makes GLP-1 hormone, and the way things are supposed to work is you eat a meal. It's actually metabolized by these trillions of microbes that are in your gut, and there's one department in that kind of manufacturing microbiome that is responsible for stimulating GLP-1 secretion. So when you eat, your microbiome is actually the primary signal to increase GLP-1 hormone naturally in your body. So you have this department of strains that their job is when you eat to say, oh my gosh, we just ate, let's release GLP-1. And you get a release of GLP-1 into your blood. And there's two really important things that happen when you get GLP-1 up in your bloodstream.

28:51One, it signals to your whole insulin response to metabolize the sugars you just ate. Number two, it tells your brain, we just ate, we're full, we don't need to eat anymore. And so those two signals go up when you have just eaten a meal. So now you're metabolizing your sugars. Your brain is being told, we just ate. We're not hungry anymore. And then over time, your GLP-1 will go down in your bloodstream. And then you'll get hungry. You'll eat another meal. And your microbiome, that department, will stimulate GLP-1. And you'll be like, so GLP-1 is actually supposed to be like this, like your sugar throughout the day.

29:23And so what is happening with these drugs is they are trying to mimic that GLP-1 hormone. And so these are chemicals that you're injecting directly in your bloodstream. So they don't kind of metabolize in this up and down. You're kind of keeping them at really high levels all the time. And so what's happening is all the time you're getting the signal of metabolize the sugars we just ate, we're full. Metabolize the sugars we just ate, we're full. And that's why when people go on them, they have almost an immediate impact on their hunger. Some people even feel a little bit nauseous because the signaling is so strong.

29:55And so I think about these GLP. And so you don't go on the cycle. You kind of got this signal happening all the time at a very high level. So you get this immediate really great impact. But then when you go off of them, you get this immediate rebound because you haven't really taught your body to make its own GLP and hormone. You're just supplementing. And the thing about the drugs and kind of keeping it at a high level all the time is it's almost like talking through a megaphone. Like I was talking to you through a megaphone. You would definitely be able to hear me clearer. But after a while, you would go deaf.

30:25And that literally happens in your body where these beta cells that secrete insulin, they can become deaf to the signaling and they can stop working. And that's why with a lot of drugs, you have to keep titrating up doses because your body actually responds by going deaf. And so that's kind of the downside to the upside of getting that immediate response of those drugs. So if you kind of go over to this side and you say, well, what about your natural GLP-1 hormone? If you can stimulate that, you're really teaching your body how to fish. And so you're teaching your body to re-release the GLP-1 hormone when it's supposed to and have it, you know, on the right cycle.

31:01And what happens when you're doing that well is you don't have these food cravings for foods that your body really doesn't need. You don't have that food noise that a lot of us are walking around with, like, just thinking about what's my next meal and trying to resist and then breaking the resistance and then feeling bad about it. You know, you don't have any of that stuff. And you're metabolizing your sugars optimally. And so that's really kind of the two different modalities to get at your GLP-1. Yeah, it's fascinating too, because, you know, in learning this from you and then just recently that we naturally create GLP-1.

31:34So what's happening though in the body where are people just overriding their natural hunger cues? and then the, cause what's happened, if, if we have a great healthy GLP one signal, wouldn't all of us not be overweight or what's happening there? That's causing people to causing us to need to supplement, you know, through drugs. Well, I want to talk about the probiotic, but through drugs to have this signal continually going, are we having the signal naturally going and then we're ignoring it? What do you think's happening? No, I think we're not having the signal. And so essentially, this is when we talk about metabolism.

32:15It is the metabolism of sugars. It's the generation of your body's GLP-1 hormones. So what we now know is that department that's supposed to release the GLP-1, there are only two strains known to date that have ever been published that can directly stimulate GLP-1 production. They're acromantia mucinophila and clostridium butyricum. You don't have to memorize those names, but those are the two strains. And when you are depleted in them, you're not getting that proper signaling. And the depletion in acromantia has been associated with a wide variety of diseases, not just metabolism issues like obesity, but also GI issues, neurodegenerative issues, inflammatory issues, immune response issues.

33:01And so these strains, particularly acromantia, are really, really important for that GL GLP-1 signaling to happen. And many people are just simply depleted in these. And acromansia has never been found on any food. So it's not like you can go eat these foods that are high in acromansia. And so we're all kind of facing this issue of not making enough of our natural GLP-1 hormone. That's why we have these problems. Wow. So was this the GLP-1 hormone, was this something that in researcher we knew about in the health space? Or is this, because I feel like I've just started hearing about and I've been in the health and wellness space for a long time.

33:40Have we known that this GLP-1 is what supports us in reducing hunger and balancing our blood sugar? Well, for decades, scientists have actually known about GLP-1 and these GLP-1 drugs that are on the market now that have become really well known, many of them, and especially their earlier versions of them, have been around for like 30 years. And so they're new to all of us, but the whole science behind it isn't new. And some of the things that these drug companies that have done is to just make these more and more effective. So even though many of these scientists have known about GLP-1 and known its power and what it could do, being able to create a chemical mimic that can do it as powerfully as these drugs can has taken a few versions.

34:28And so now we're experiencing this heyday where it feels like it's something totally new, but it's actually been something we've known for a long time and people have just been optimizing it to get it to how impactful they are today. And so we've known about GLP-1 for a long time. And even us at Pendulum, we've been working on GLP-1 for a decade. But just how do you harness that? That's the secret.

36:36I read something recently that completely reframed how I think about aging, and it has nothing to do with wrinkles or energy levels on the surface. Scientists just identified the first nutritional deficiency in 75 years. It's called cellular fragility syndrome. It's caused by low levels of an essential fatty acid called C15. And it turns out that this one nutrient plays a huge role in keeping ourselves strong and resilient. When C15 levels drop, our cells become fragile. They produce less energy, break down faster, and that can quietly show up as poor sleep, fatigue, and feeling like your body just isn't bouncing back the way it used to.

37:14That's why I've been paying attention to Fatty 15. It's a science-backed vegan supplement made with pure C15, and studies show it has broader cellular benefits than omega-3s. It supports long-term metabolic, liver, and heart health by actually helping repair and protect your cells. I've been taking it for about, I would say, almost a year now, and it's been incredible. I've noticed not only a difference in my skin health, I am getting older and I just feel like I am slowing the process just a little bit. I've noticed a big difference in my energy and just my bounce back rate. It's been great. Fatty 15 is on a mission to replenish your C15 levels and restore your long-term health.

37:56You can get 15 % off their 90 day starter kit at fatty15.com slash almost 30 and use the code almost 30 at checkout. Again, that's fatty15.com. slash almost 30. The code is almost 30 and you'll get 15 % off their 90 day starter kit.

38:16So we could say just based on what you were talking about with the drugs and the example of the microphone, which I love that someone that's taking it when you're taking that much of a dose of the GLP one from an Ozempic or Wigobe semaglutide, you potentially have the risk of damaging the receptors that receive the message and no longer having your body respond in the same way. Yeah. And I think if you're on these drugs, you'll know if you're, you know, working with a healthcare practitioner that they're going to, the minute they prescribe it for you is the minute they're also going to say like, okay, now let's figure out how to get off of them.

38:55And maybe there's a micro dosing or we'll do an on off, but your practitioner is always going to be talking to you about that from the first step, because they know that being able to do the on-off or being able to titrate down to the minimum amount you need is going to be best. Right. What do you think is... So would you say that's the biggest risk for someone that was taking it? What are the risks of taking that drug? Well, I think that there's a certain fraction of the population that is intolerant to the drug, And you'll know right away when you go on it if you're one of those people who's intolerant to it.

39:32And that's just sort of true of any drug. And you'll know you're intolerant if you're getting super sick or, you know, you're getting a reaction. I think in the long run, we don't know exactly what are going to be all the potential side effects because we're kind of running a mass experiment here. The drugs were developed and designed and studied for people with type 2 diabetes. There's a lot known about what happens in people with type 2 diabetes. But right now, the mass public experiment that's happening is, well, what if you don't have diabetes? And then there's even people who are completely, you know, they don't have obesity.

40:09They're not even, you know, clearly on this path towards diabetes. We're going to find out what are the different side effects for all these different individuals probably in the next 10 or 15 years. Yeah, in Los Angeles. I swear. I swear the amount and no shade, but the amount of people that I know on it that are absolutely nowhere close to diabetes, absolutely at weight or underweight. It's just, it's just fascinating. And, um, I've been interested in it because my dad has Alzheimer's and I know that, you know, Alzheimer's is diabetes of the brain. And so much of what I believe is a lot of his issues is related to his blood sugar levels and the diabetes that he's kind of experiencing in a different way.

40:57So I've been curious about the research on GLP-1s for that reason. But I want to talk a little bit about us making natural GLP-1s, you know, people having a different solution outside of a prescription that we don't really know the results of. what could someone do to stimulate their GLP-1 naturally, which would then in turn support them in more healthy regulated blood sugar levels and then reducing hunger and cravings? So now that we know these specific strains that stimulate GLP-1, you have a target to go tackle. So there's two primary ways you can do this. One is you can try to feed those strains, and those are some of the foods that we talked about, the prebiotics like the fibers and the polyphenols.

41:42And the second, you know, that and or the second is to actually just supplement with the strains themselves. So there's sort of you could do the one, two punch, which is, OK, I'm going to supplement with these strains, plus I'm going to feed them. And now you're really going to get a chance to have them colonize to help stimulate your body's natural GLP-1 hormone. And if we were. So I want to walk through again, just like this, how the strains produce the GLP-1. So basically, just to make it super simple. So these two strains that we talk about, acromantia and then the other one that you mentioned that I'm not gonna know, these are what are the building blocks of the hormone that is GLP-1 in our body, correct?

42:24They are strains that metabolize your food and then you have in your, it's actually in your gut lining. So in your gut lining, there are these cells in there. They're called L cells. And when these strains are metabolizing your food, they send a signal to those L cells. The L cells basically house GLP-1, and they're waiting for a signal to then release GLP-1 into your bloodstream. And so what these two microbes do, the Ackermansia mucinophila and the Clostridium budericum, what they do is when they metabolize food, they are the signal that tells the L cell, who's just waiting there for their signal, okay, now release it.

43:00And then the L cells release this. And so they're like the guys who ring the dinner bell. I love your examples. They actually are incredibly helpful. And as a teacher myself, I'm like, I need to have good examples like this. They are amazing. So you at Pendulum are just like pioneers in the space of the gut microbiome and of probiotics. So tell us a little bit about the GLP-1 probiotic that people could take. What does it do? How does it work? And how could this be a natural alternative to these drugs? Sure. Well, so all this scientific research around, okay, your microbiome stimulates GLP-1 release, and oh, there's this particular department, and oh, what are those strains?

43:41All of that science is what our products are premised on. And so the product is literally those strains, those two strains that have been published that show that they can stimulate GLP-1. Plus, we added a third one in that we know that works with those two. And that's what's in here is those probiotic strains. And so the best way to get the most out of this is to take those strains and also increase your fiber and polyphenols in your diet because those are the food for those strains. And the way that this works is it really, what it shows up for you as kind of most clearly are reduced food cravings and improved digestion.

44:20That's kind of the things that people most recognize because you don't really know your blood sugar spikes. I mean, that's why we wear continuous glucose monitors. You can't really feel when these things are happening in a real way, but you can definitely feel your cravings and you can definitely feel when your digestion is off. And so there's actually a diagnostic test called the Food Cravings Inventory. And it's a test that has all these questions about different types of foods. And what we know about cravings is there are four primary types of cravings. And when I tell them to you, everybody usually knows which category they fall into.

44:51There's sugars, carbs, fast foods, and high fat foods. And some people will feel like I have all four. I'd say I'm a sugar, I'm a sugar carbs person, fast food. My mom never let us have fast food. So I didn't sort of build that into my repertoire. And then high fat, nah. Yeah. Okay. So you've got sugars and carbs. And so there are these four primary categories. And so this food cravings inventory, when you finish it, it tells you, okay, across each category, where do you rank on food cravings? And I think it's a scale from like one to four, one to five. So you can get your starting position. And then what we found is that after being on this probiotic with these strains that stimulate your natural GLP-1, after being on this probiotic for six weeks, 91 % of people had a reduction in their food cravings.

45:42And the biggest one was actually for sugar. And then moreover, the higher you started, the more you saw an improvement. So if you're like, oh man, I'm off the charts on sugar, that was where those people saw the biggest improvement. If you're like, well, I don't really have like a big craving for fast foods, you might see a little decrease, but it wasn't much to begin with. So you don't really see as much impact. And so 91 % of people though saw statistically significant reductions in their food cravings with this test. And that starts you on a really amazing cycle. We've all been on the bad cycle, which is I'm sad or I'm, you know, feeling down and I'm eating foods that are bad for me.

46:20That makes me feel worse. And then I feel bad about those decisions that I eat again, you know, bad foods. And you could be on this cycle where it's like you have this, there's definitely a gut brain connection where you, you know, not feeling well causes you to eat poorly, which then causes you to not feel well. And then you're on this cycle. What this does is it breaks you out of that. And now you are not having those cravings and you're feeling really good about your decisions. And that actually causes you to make even better nutrition decisions. And then we start seeing people being like, okay, well, I'm feeling really good and I'm going to have the energy to exercise.

46:51And so you can get onto this really amazing cycle. All it takes sometimes is one little trigger to move you from one hamster wheel to the one you really want to be on where you're in like a really good feedback loop. And so all we're trying to do is to give people those little tools that can really change your whole mindset about your health. when we talk about cravings, I love the breakdown that you guys have of the four. I'm always curious about cravings in the relationship between, um, our emotional and mental state and then cravings of the body. You know, our, our body doesn't crave fast food for the most part, I would say, but we have this emotional, um, emotional relationship with food, mental relationship with food.

47:33So we talk about cravings, how is GLP one sort of impacting this emotional comfort we seek in food? Because a lot of us use food, not just for fuel, it's for something else. Yeah, I think, so first of all, it's not going to all get distilled down into one molecule or one hormone that can change your whole life. But I would say the GLP-1 hormone plays a really important role in this. And in fact, there have been some studies that have come out showing that people who are taking these GLP-1s, it can help resolve addictions like alcohol addiction. That's what I've heard. Yeah. And that's that same part of your signaling.

48:12So it's sort of almost agnostic to what the thing is. You've got other issues or nostalgic things that are leading you to, this is what I'm addicted to. And really what the hormone is doing is what it's triggering to your brain is you don't need, you don't need X, fill in the blank. So pick your poison, whatever that is. What the GLP-1 hormone is doing is it's not guiding you to the poison of a particular thing. There's a lot of other factors that I think lead to what our weaknesses are. But what the GLP-1 hormone is doing is it's basically blocking then those desires. It's essentially telling you like you don't need more.

48:48You're good. You're satiated. You're happy. And so that's why I think we're starting to see that those drugs can work for food addiction, alcohol addiction, drug addiction. At the end of the day, these are all things that are triggered by somehow there's a feeling of emptiness. You're not full. You don't have satiety. And that's what this GLP-1 hormone does is it gives you that feeling. That's so powerful. I was talking to someone, he does market research for financial markets and the drugs have impacted the financial markets so much because they've hit on fast food industry, they've hit on the soda industry, and they're hitting on the gambling industry and the alcohol industry as well, just because of that same reason that it's hitting on the addiction centers of our brain that are addicted to gambling, addicted to fast food, addicted to drinking, all of these things.

49:39And so it's so exciting to hear that we can use something that works naturally with our body in a natural rhythm to support ourselves, whether we want to cut our addiction to sugar or whether we want to stop drinking or, you know, stop gambling even in the future. And I'm excited to see what sort of research could come out to support people in that because addiction really has a hold on so many people in America, especially where they do feel that feeling of emptiness and they're looking outside of them for that support. Absolutely. And I think that as we uncover kind of biologically what are the things that are depleted that are leading to this emptiness, you know, this feeling of emptiness that we're trying to fill with these other things, we start to have real things that we can target.

50:23And GLP-1 is a huge one. And that's one of the reasons GLP-1 drugs have become so overnight, immediately exciting for people is because it's really hitting at a core hormone that is dysfunctional in many of us.

50:44lately i've been paying way more attention to fiber and protein and realizing how hard it can be to hit those without giving up the foods that i actually love like bagels and toast and tacos and all the bready things so that's why i started swapping in hero bread y 'all hero bread has changed my life christa's life i just went to la and she was all over hero bread she was having the bagels every day with her lunch. She normally has a little soup. She had the bagels. It was amazing. It makes it so easy to upgrade everyday meals. So my avocado toast, the bagel sandwiches, the wraps for lunch without feeling restrictive.

51:23The texture surprised me the most. I think it is soft, fluffy, and tastes like traditional bread. It doesn't taste like something you're like, this is like a really bad copy of bread. It's so, so good. You'd never guess. It has zero to five grams of net carbs per serving, zero grams of sugar, and is high in fiber. Plus things like their breakfast bagels have 19 grams of protein. Okay. That's a lot. That's amazing. Hero Bread has sliced bread, tortillas, which are some of my favorites, bagels, even small batch drops like their croissants, which are unreal, and biscuits. So whatever you're craving, there's an option that fits your goals.

52:04I'm excited for you to try Hero Bread. If you want to hit your goals this year without giving up your favorite bready dishes, Hero Bread is offering 10 % off your order when you go to hero.co, H-E-R-O dot C-O, and use the code A30POD at checkout. That's A30POD at checkout at hero.co, H-E-R-O dot C-O. I never realized how many harmful chemicals were hiding in my old nonstick pans. Teflon, PFAS, all that stuff that can leach into your food and home. That's why I've been loving our place. Their cookware is toxin-free, high performance, and honestly very beautiful. The four-piece cookware set is such a game changer.

52:49I love it so much. I even display it on top of my stove top because it's just so pretty. It comes with two Always Pans and two Perfect Pots, which are coming in different sizes. It's great. They replace a whole pile of bulky cookware, letting you saute and sear, fry, roast, boil, basically everything, all in just four pieces. And I wanted to mention the Wonder Oven. It's an air fryer and toaster oven in one. It's sold out eight times for a reason. Cooking at home feels simpler, safer, and actually enjoyable. 53:40Yes, a hundred percent. So Pendulum has an amazing GLP one product. Can you tell us a little bit about it? So it's called GLP one. What is it made of? Like, how would people take it? Is it something they need to cycle. Like, how would you suggest people go about thinking about this when they want to break addictions to food? They want to curb their cravings. They want to support themselves. And I'll just say for myself, I've been taking it for the past month and a half since you sent it to me. And it has been so nice to feel like I have support in cutting my sugar addiction. I'm someone that has dessert every day, sometimes at lunch and dinner.

54:18And I'm literally not joking when I say this. I had a brownie last night. It's just crazy. And I want to support myself and kind of having a new way of being where I'm not dependent on finding a sweet treat after everything I eat. And it's just in this really natural way supported that. And it's weird because my association to taking a supplement or a pill to supporting myself and changing my diet has always been related to the diet pills I took when I was very young in high school or college. And it was a jittery feeling. And it was this anxious feeling because it was caffeinated, it was taurine, it was all these weird things.

54:51And it was like this aversion to food, but in this weird way. And to just feel like there's a natural choice that I have now, and a natural pause where I'm like, oh, I actually don't feel like I really don't feel like having it, rather than like, I want it, but I'm so hyped up that I'm not allowing myself to have it. Yeah, I think that's right. Rather than getting yourself all hyped up. So then you don't have like the you're just not thinking about eating, you're distracting yourself. You're like a mess. Literally, like calming the mind. This is about calming ourselves from needing more to fill our plates, literally.

55:28And so and I was just talking with Kevin Rose, who we both know, and he invited me to chat with him because he had and he shared this out, which is that he ran into an old friend. And these days, you know, when you haven't seen someone in a while and they've lost weight, you just sort of assume like, oh, you're on the juice. And so what he found out from her was that she was not, in fact, on the juice. She had been taking this GLP-1 probiotic from Pendulum and that she had reduced literally just like how much chocolate she was eating. And so she said, you know, I used to be someone who I would take a bite of a chocolate bar and then that whole chocolate bar is going to be gone.

56:09Like there's not going to be anything left at the end of that sitting. And that now she really could take a bite and then close it up and then be totally fine, feel totally satiated, feel full from that, and not feel like she had to eat the whole candy bar. And that that was sort of the secret. She really was increasing her body's GLP-1 hormone through the GLP-1 probiotic. And that was giving her a sense of satiety. So she didn't have to eat the whole candy bar. And that got him all excited to revisit like, well, hey, how is this probiotic working? And, you know, how can we help more people improve their GLP-1?

56:47Yeah. Do we, so much like the drug, would we have to be on this? Well, I'm on it now, but would we have to take the, I'm talking about the probiotic, would we have to take the probiotic forever, do you think? Or what would be the long-term usage of this? You do not have to probably be on it forever. And Kevin Rose actually is one of our investors. So I even told him this. I was like, I know you're an investor, but the truth is you really don't have to be on these forever. And the reason is because your microbiome is an ecosystem with all these different strains that is fed by you. And so if you can get these strains to colonize, you can feed them so that they can continue to grow and colonize on their own.

57:29And so now it's going to require probably dietary change. It's going to require a lifestyle change where you're eating higher fiber, higher polyphenol foods. You're avoiding processed foods and all of those things. But if you can do that, you can get these strains to colonize on their own. You don't have to keep supplementing with them. And so that's the truth. So it's basically like we take the beautiful strains through the supplement and then they're in our bodies essentially in a beautiful colony. And if we're feeding them in the right way with the adjustments to our diet, which is the goal and what we always need to do, then they essentially will colonize and continue to replicate and recreate in our body.

58:10Exactly. Exactly. And now one of the most fascinating things about this strain, Ackermansia, is that I think I said earlier, it hasn't been found on any foods or any beverages or anything like that. And so there's always been this question of, it's one of the most important strains in our bodies. It is a keystone strain in our gut. And if you can't find it on any foods or beverages or anywhere, like how do we get this? And why do we have so much of it in a healthy gut? There's only been one place that acromantia has ever been discovered, and that is in mother's breast milk. And so the theory is now you get your acromantia from mother's breast milk, and that's your starting amount.

58:50And for the rest of your life, if you're not feeding that, You're not colonizing that. You're losing it. And because it's a keystone strain, as you start to lose it, it shows up in these inflammatory responses, immune diseases, obesity, metabolically unhealthy, GI issues, food sensitivity. So all those things start to show up. But it's all like starting from mom. And then your job is to keep that thing alive through your food. Wow. I'm going to research. I would just wrote that down because I'm like, I'm going to research the difference between when you're breastfed and not breastfed and all of the impact, because that's so fascinating because then you having the acromantia from a mother's breast milk impacts so many other different areas in your life in the future.

59:34And again, this is not to shame any mothers or anything like that. It's just, I'm curious, you know, how that leads to such a trigger point down the line. So where do you guys get your acromantia then when you have, because you have a probiotic with just Acromantia that I've taken. It's amazing. And then you also have this in the GLP-1. Where do you guys source it? We manufacture it. So essentially it's originally sourced from a human and then it is isolated. And then we just, we manufacture it as a single strain and that is how we make it. And I would say also that I also just want to second, like this isn't a shame thing.

1:00:12This is actually a story of hope so that you, for whatever reason, you can't breastfeed. you have an opportunity to still get your kid this acromantia. And if you were someone who didn't have breast milk and you're thinking like, oh, my gosh, this is my I'm low in acromantia, you can actually get it back into your bodies. And so this is really a story of hope. And and one last thing is even if you are breastfeeding, like I have two children and I worked and I had to pump breast milk and freeze it and then thaw it and feed it my kids. And I am like a relatively impatient person. And so if you've ever had to heat breast milk, you know, there's like several settings, that little knob of how hot the thing gets.

1:00:52And I would just put that thing on high. And then I just throw the frozen breast milk in there and be like, all right, how soon? Just fry it. You just fry it. And I was just like trying to get this thing as fast as possible into the kid. And now when I look back on that, knowing what I know now about what's in that breast milk, I'm realizing even though I was pumping breast milk and giving this to my baby, I was killing all the probiotics in there. Every strain that was in there was certainly dead by the time I took it out of that boiling thing and gave it to my kid. And so there are a lot of reasons why we've, you know, maybe not delivered the amount that we wanted to people, but you can give it back.

1:01:31And just remind me, acromantia, what are the benefits of having acromantia outside of its relationship to GLP-1? So there's two big things that acromantia does. One is the stimulating GLP-1 hormone that we talked about. And the other thing, and this is probably actually maybe even the more relevant thing, it plays a really unique and important role in the actual structure of your gut lining. And so your gut lining is, we'll do another analogy here, is like a wooden fence. You know, if you look at a wooden fence, you have all these planks and they're held together by glue. but what can happen over time with your wooden fence through weather and seasons is that that glue can start to weaken and a plank can fall and now you've got a leaky fence.

1:02:18Your gut lining structurally is literally exactly the same where you have these cells, these epithelial cells, and they're held together by glue which is called mucin. And acromantia is the only strain that has ever been discovered that lives right there at that fence and its job is to strip away the old glue when it gets old and to put up new glue. So it's literally always getting rid of the old glue and putting up new glue. That's its job is to regulate the glue of the fence and to keep that fence strong, to keep your gut strong so you don't get kind of these leaks in your gut lining. And it's the only strain that we know that does that.

1:02:52We don't know anybody else who does this. And so that's another reason why it's a keystone strain, because if you are missing it and you literally don't have the physical structure of your gut lining intact and you have these gaps, We know this leads to inflammatory responses, immune problems. You just essentially have all these things in your microbiome leaking into your bloodstream and all these things in your bloodstream making their way into your microbiome. It's just a hot mess. You need that fence there. And so acromantia keeps your fence strong. Wow. And for maybe the GLP-1 or even related to acromantia, we mentioned a study that you were talking about before related to cravings.

1:03:30Is there any other cool studies that you guys are doing? So we are doing a few different studies. One of them is we are actually testing this product in people to see whether you can see their GLP-1 levels go up. So you know how I said your GLP-1 is supposed to be on the cycle. It's actually really hard to catch it to know is it actually going up. But we're trying to measure that and see whether a person could demonstrate to themselves that their GLP-1 levels were actually more, they were back on this like good cycle. And so that I'm super excited about. And we probably have about a dozen different studies going on.

1:04:07Another one that I'm really excited about is not with the GLP-1 product, but actually with Pendulum Glucose Control. So Pendulum Glucose Control is everything that's in GLP-1 plus two additional strains. It's kind of like our highest dose clinical formulation for people with diabetes. Well, there's a group in Australia that is taking that pendulum glucose formulation and they are testing it in post-menopausal women for bone health. And the idea is that actually your microbiome plays a role in your bone health. And this for me is super interesting because after women go through menopause, their whole bone density is really, really a problem.

1:04:50But we all know that way before you enter menopause, you're supposed to be working on your bone health. We're supposed to be getting enough calcium. We're supposed to be building up muscle around all of our bones. We're supposed to be doing all this great stuff. You know, what if earlier on you could really be helping with your bone health and then you kind of are able to do that all the way through? So that one I think is really interesting. Yeah. I mean, the ways in which we're confirmed how the body works as a system, like every single study all the time, it's like, it is so interconnected.

1:05:20We cannot deny it. But I'm really excited about this. We've just been so impressed by your products always and the research that you do and the thoughtfulness. And I always love hearing you as a teacher and to hear about this as an option for people, like a GLP-1 probiotic as a way to support them is just so exciting and incredible and makes total sense to me. It's been really great for me to take it. I'm excited for our audience to dig in. Is there anything else you want to leave our audience with today as it relates to this or anything else you feel like we didn't cover that you'd love to share?

1:05:54I think the only thing I would say to people is that when you're trying to approach these natural systems, so when you take this probiotic, if you're comparing to the drug, it's not gonna be like that. You're not gonna take it and then six hours later be like, now I'm nauseous because I'm hammering my body with this drug. So I would just say to people, be patient. I always say like, give it 90 days. So do a 90-day challenge for yourself. Try the product for 90 days and see whether you have an improvement in your food cravings. But when you teach your body to do things naturally, the bad side of that is it takes a second.

1:06:31The good side is that it lasts. And so you kind of have to take the good with the bad. So just the patience part for this to kick in is the main thing I would want people to remember. I love that. I think for people that really want the change, we got to be patient. We got to be, you know, we got to be on. And I think for anyone that wants body change or body transformation, it's always the patience. That's who we're really working against. So I think that's really beautiful. But it was such a pleasure talking to you. Our time absolutely flew. I was like so in it. I love, again, what you share.

1:07:03And I'm really excited that I'm able to take this and that you guys were able to make this and all the things that you do with such integrity and such class and just with the right intention.
