11Hello, and welcome to the Almost 30 podcast. I'm Lindsay Simsek. This is a solo episode. Welcome to the show. If you've been here, you know the deal. We do solo episodes, both Krista and I individually, and then we interview some of the world's most incredible teachers, healers, experts on everything from health and wellness to spirituality, relationships, and so much in between. And I'm so grateful you're here. If you've been an OG fan, you know, we've been doing this for 10 years and I can't believe it. I can't believe we did not plan to do this for 10 years. So glad we have been so honored to just grow alongside so many of you.
53And I know we have new listeners. So people finding the podcast when, especially when they're moving through that transition from their 20s to their 30s, it's a big one. So much is happening. Feels maybe like your life is falling apart, but it's really coming together. Not to be cheesy, but it's true. um we write about it most recently in our new book called almost 30 a definitive guide to a life you love for the next decade and beyond and that is my plug and you can get it anywhere books are sold uh but let's get into this solo episode it's one that i've been sitting on for a while now i would say just been percolating um and i want to talk about the fact that i got married at 35, had my first baby at 36, and I want to have more children.
40I am in my later 30s. It is not the plan that I had for my life. I thought I was going to be married by 27, having a couple kids by 30, like just thought that would be my prime. And, you know, I think it can bring up a lot when your life doesn't happen the way you initially planned plan it or envision. But I've realized over the last, you know, 10 plus years that there's definitely a greater plan for my life that my own mind could never imagine. And there's like a sequencing that is very purposeful to these major milestones. You know, I wasn't meant to marry my now husband when I met him back in 2012.
35We actually weren't even meant to get together back in 2012. We got together in 2019 and then things kind of moved very quickly from there, getting engaged and married and then having our first child. And it had to happen that way. And I know I can say that now in retrospect, And that's, you know, the beauty of looking back and the privilege of looking back. But I use that intel from my life and apply it moving forward. So the fact that I want to have more kids, yet I'm approaching 40. And that brings up a lot for me. I am also very much trusting in the fact that I am meant to have more kids at this age for very particular reasons, whether it's biological, mental, spiritual, emotional, because I just believe that it's all by design and all on purpose.
30So today I want to talk about just this invisible timeline and shattering it and trusting in it, especially related to marriage and having kids or not having kids or starting a new career or whatever those milestones are for you. I do want to talk about how I'm thinking about fertility in my later 30s. And probably, you know, if I have a child in my 40s, and what that would look like. I'm 38 now. And just kind of like bringing you up to speed on this season of my life. So um where shall we begin uh how do I feel about my age I'm 38 this is how I feel I don't feel 38 um I feel like candidly I look younger now than I did at 27 when I was like drinking my face off and ordering late night food and going out every weekend and not treating my body well and doing HIIT workouts twice a day.
38I feel like I looked like I was doing all that stuff back in my late 20s. And now I just feel like I have a much healthier lifestyle. No, I'm not getting enough sleep because I have a toddler, but I just feel like I have so much more respect for my body. And because of that, I am so much more intentional about how I feed my body, you know, how I treat my body, how I listen to my body, how I move my body. And I'm proud of that. And there are also if I'm being honest days where I look at myself in the mirror, and I just feel like, wow, okay. I can I can honor the fact that I feel and look good for my age, generally speaking.
28But there are some days where I'm like, damn, those lines on my face, or wow, my body's changed, or looking back at a picture from my 20s or early 30s and being like, oh, will I ever get that back? Will I ever look like that again? And so I have my moments of feeling like deeply insecure. They don't last that long. But I do have those moments. And those are thoughts in my mind. I also have days where I do the math. You know, I think about, okay, so if I want to have another kid at 38, 39, then how old would that kid be? How old will I be when that kid is 30? You know, all these things. What if I have a third kid, and I'm 40, 41?
17What will that what will that mean? Like, will I be, you know, 85 at their college graduation, the math doesn't math that way. But, you know, your mind just goes there, I want to be as healthy and vital as possible for my kids. At every stage of their life, I know, that's not like totally realistic, as I get later, later, later in life. But yeah, I just think about that. And not that I'm afraid of death, but I do have thoughts about just not being able to show up in the way that I have always been able to, which is pretty healthy and energetic and all of that. So you just think about those things and I let myself think about those things, but I don't let myself harp on those things because I also know that my mind is so limited in what it can imagine and what it can logically kind of map out for my life.
20I think there are going to be advancements, you know, in the coming years and decades that will be really exciting for our health and wellness and vitality. I also just very much trust my own relationship with my body and that will take me on a journey that, um, yeah, we'll, we'll support the life that I want to have with my family, with my kids, with my friends, you know, with my creative life. And so I know it sounds a lot like there's a lot of woo woo in that, but it's, it's for me just about trusting and not getting so caught up in the spiral of, Oh my God, I'm getting older. What does this mean for my life?
03I want so many things. Will I be able to do them, achieve them, obtain them before a certain age? I've had to let that go. And it feels much better. You know, I believe very deeply that life is long. And if I am meant to have my body be this vessel for, you know, growing kids and raising young kids for the next however many years as fulfilling and fulfilling and as hard as it can be like I am going to pour my energy into that for those years and not try to you know get to the top of my career in that time if I'm being honest so I think also when we're thinking about age we just have to be realistic about what's a priority and realistic about the fact that
57Lindsey Simcik:hopefully life is long and that I could start a career at freaking 45 50 and have like a very decent amount of time to go all in on something that I'm super passionate about outside of my family so all of that is not how I always thought you know I grew up being fed that like build your career, build your career, build your career first, and then everything else can fall into place. But I, even though we've had obviously success, I've really shifted in thinking like I have to do it all before I have kids. And it's, it's, it's still flowing in the background, my creativity and pursuits and things, but it's definitely not my total priority.
49Lindsey Simcik:You guys, as the days get longer and warmer, which I am loving, I am leaning more into my strength training game. Yeah, me. And I've been loving it. And you all know we don't build muscle without protein. And I'm getting my typical proteins, but I also love bread and I'm not giving it up. That's where hero bread comes in. I'm all about easy, satisfying meals that fit my macros, if you will. I'm not counting them, but I'm just being mindful of getting my proteins and all the things. So I love that I can enjoy comfort food favorites like grab-and-go breakfast bagels and veggie-packed lunch wraps without worrying about my fiber or protein goals.
28Lindsey Simcik:I recently tried their Hero Noodles as well and was totally blown away. They have 12 grams of protein and only 80 calories per serving, plus 11 to 32 grams of fiber, depending on the product. Fiber is so important. I actually had a blood test six months ago that just gave me all the indication I needed more fiber. So this has really been a part of what's been helping me. And the texture of these breads is amazing. I'm not just saying this. They are soft, fluffy, and way better than you'd expect for low-neck carb baked goods, whether it's the wraps, the bagels, sliced bread, or even the insanely delicious Hero pain au chocolat and croissants.
09Lindsey Simcik:Okay. I love the croissants. Keep them in the freezer and just pop them out, put them in the oven. They're absolutely incredible. So there's something for every meal, every one. It's the most amazing flavor without the compromise. Zero to five grams of net carbs, zero grams sugar and fiber packed so you can enjoy the foods you love while building muscle. Right now, Hero Bread is offering 10 % off your order. Just go to hero.co. That's H-E-R-O dot C-O, and use the code A30POD at checkout. Seriously, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or pasta night, Hero Bread makes it so easy to have your favorite meals without any trade-offs.

15Lindsey Simcik:This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. So March is all about celebrating women and everything they carry at work, at home, in relationships, and in the countless roles they hold every single day. I want to take a moment to celebrate a woman who has made a lasting impact on me, my mother. She is just the strongest, the kindest, the most giving, generous, warm angel on earth, just the way she shows up for others, for her family. But we all know how much women carry, and I've seen her carry a lot throughout her life. And sometimes that means that our own emotional well-being gets put on the back burner.
52Lindsey Simcik:I've experienced that. I've seen her experience that. That's why therapy is such a powerful, powerful space to pause, reflect, and care for yourself in the way you deserve. I have gone to therapy for the last, oh gosh, I think like seven years. My mom has done therapy. It's been amazing. That's betterhelp.com slash almost 30. the other thing I want to just touch on that I think a lot of people mull over when they're thinking about their age and how they feel about their age is just what everyone else tells them about their age you know we are able to see into people's highlight reel on Instagram and TikTok and all these things and make assumptions without knowing who that person is, what made them who they are, their daily life, their hardships, their struggles.
21And so we can put this just like insane pressure on ourselves to be everything and to look and feel and act as young as possible. And I also feel like we have pressure around us. that's like the clock is ticking, you're losing time, you know, the body starts to lose quality of your eggs at a certain point. There's all these things that I'm not saying aren't true, but it's a lot. It's a lot of information. It's a lot to digest. And it's general information. Sometimes, you know, biologically speaking, you might be perfectly healthy and fertile well into your mid forties. Um, there are tests you can do to kind of check on that, et cetera, but we can't take what we are consuming online, especially as Bible, you know, as the end all be all, and then make it our truth and then live our life.
23According to that, I think we have to get to know ourselves as deeply as possible during this time. So on a health level, spiritual level, mental level, and try to block out some of the noise. Because you are meant to follow a path that is not like anyone else's. And I know that's hard for us to wipe when we are consuming everyone else's life all the time. But it's really important that we revisit that truth that my life is not going to look like another person's life. I can be inspired sure by other people's life life, but I can't get it twisted. I can't think that just because say, I don't look like, um, the pregnant mom at 40.
13Uh, if I get pregnant at 40, we don't look the same or experiencing the same gorgeous, beautiful, amazing pregnancy, that there's like something wrong with me, we're just having a different experience. And it's it's meant to be that way. And if we're talking about late motherhood, specifically, the statistics are that women are having children later, like well into their 30s, it used to be younger. But it is a fact that it's more common in their 30s and even their early 40s. I live in Brooklyn. I see 40, 45-year-old moms, you know, pregnant women walking around all the time. And it's been rising for decades.
56Birth rates for women in their 40s has continued to increase in recent years. I think there's many reasons for that. I think, you know, a lot of women are building their careers early on. That's a choice. I think some women are waiting to meet their person, their partner, and that takes a little bit longer. I think some people are just grappling with the question of do I want to have kids? And all of these things are really important not to rush, right? Like these are huge decisions. The person that you're going to be with for the rest of your life, hopefully, is a huge decision. And so I actually think it's overall a good sign that we are being more thoughtful about this and taking our time and not being so hasty with these major, major decisions like having children, like getting married.
50So overall, I think it's a good thing. I wouldn't, I don't know if I would be able to, ready to receive or be the same type of mom at 27 or 29 than I am now at 38, right? Like I have so much more life experience. I've done so much more work on myself. I feel like I'm so much more aware and have just a better head on my shoulders. And I just, I take that very seriously in terms of my own timeline and why it happened that way. But a lot of you might be thinking, okay, yeah, like it might be better that I am waiting for the right partner and I'm being mindful about when I have kids and working on myself and being more stable than I was when I was younger.
36Great. But there's also a reality in the room that fertility, there is a window of fertility. Everyone's window is different. some people are very fertile fertile well into their 40s some people have kind of a drop off earlier than that some people you know have trouble with their egg quality sometimes it's the sperm quality some like there are so many things that have to go right in order to get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy so many some that we don't even know there is a stout out there that I've read a couple times. So I'm assuming it's close to truth, but it says that after 40, your likelihood of getting pregnant naturally drops to about 10%.
34I don't think that's true for everyone. I do believe that the quality of our eggs or the quantity of our eggs does go down into certain points. We need to be mindful of that. Um, this stat doesn't scare me, I think, because through my process of just being in relationship with my body, I would say over the last 1015 years, plus being in process with my pregnancy experience, which I haven't shared my very nonlinear pregnancy journey yet publicly, I will eventually, I think probably over in my momplex world on Substack or the like. But what I will say is that through those experiences, whether of loss or disappointment or, you know, not being my timing, I've learned to trust my body.
35And I know the body's incredibly intelligent. And I know that I am able to get pregnant, I am able to create a healthy child. And so if that doesn't happen for me, at any point, I know that there is something happening that my body is detecting. and I think I trust as I get older and near my 40s and into my 40s that if I'm meant to have more kids, I will. I will do everything in my power to support my fertility and my health and my longevity, but I also just have a deep trust in the intelligence of my body. I did want to share a stat that I think got me excited.
29there was a few studies actually. There are multiple long-term studies that have shown an association, not causation, between having a child later in life and the odds of living to an older age. So it doesn't mean that if you have a child at 40, that that will cause you to live longer. But what it means is that there are factors in your biology and the way you're made up that allows you to have kids at a later age, which indicate that might also help you to live a longer life. So it's just really, um, an association. It's an indicator. Um, so that excited me because I want to be around as long as possible for my kids.
13We'll see. That's the plan. The last thing I'll say about having kids later, and this is, you know, obviously my journey, what I will say, and this might be controversial if I had gotten together with my husband earlier you know of all these things that happened earlier I would have started having kids earlier I've always known I wanted to be a mom that's always been a part of what's felt very true and natural to me and if I could have started before what was it 30 I think I was 30 I was 35, but then I turned 36 or I turned 36 a couple weeks after Matt was born. I would have started earlier. I feel very blessed that I'm able to and all, you know, all is well.
06But I think I would have started a little bit earlier. So if you, this is what I will say. And again, please take what lands and leave what doesn't. But if you are with the person that you want to be with. I think sometimes we prioritize building all of our individual successes and reaching those goals prior to having kids just because we feel like we will lose that once we have kids and we push off having kids because of that. I will just say that kids are going to bring a motivation, inspiration to your life, just this dynamic nature to your life that will, I think, enhance what you are doing.
58Sure, you might pause on some of your professional pursuits for a little bit, especially the primary caregiver. But I just think we talk ourselves out of this and feel like we need to reach a certain level in life and then have kids. But I actually feel like we can be a little bit more nuanced about it. I think we can actually think about bringing kids in if we have our foundational securities set, like having a loving, supportive, amazing partner, like whatever's important to you. Maybe a home is important to you. Maybe having one of the people in the relationship have a stable job is important to you.
45Maybe being close to family is important to you. If you have those foundational things, I would, I would start. So I would start a little bit earlier. I wouldn't start in my 20s, that's for damn sure. But you know, early 30s, I would have started. So that's what I'll say about that to each their own yada yada.
10One of my favorite snacks and favorite breakfasts and favorite things to have on the go is a protein shake from cachava. I love the variety of their protein flavors. Strawberry has been such a hit for me. I've always been chocolate, vanilla, boring. Now I'm having strawberry shakes all the time. It is so hearty and blends really well. It has so many of the things that I need. And I've just really loved having it in my pantry. They have a new flavor that I'm obsessed with. their coffee flavor premium decaffeinated brazilian beans in it usually i have a little slump in the middle of the afternoon i need a little pick me up i need some nourishment and the coffee's been great because i don't know my brain just says oh it's a coffee it's delicious this is a all-in-one very clean high quality shake super super clean there's no artificial anything no artificial flavors or colors or sweeteners and two scoops gives you 25 grams of protein that's pretty amazing.
08It's plant-based protein. You get six grams of fiber, greens, adaptogens, electrolytes, nutrients that support your energy and digestion and cognition and immune health. It is packed. It is a full meal, a full experience for your bod that it's going to love. They also have seven total flavors that you're going to, mint chocolate chip was my favorite. Chocolate chip is good. Acai is interesting. Yeah. I think coffee is my, my new fave. So treat yourself to the flavor and nutrition your body really craves, go to cachava.com and use code ALMOST30 for 15 % off your order. That's cachava, K-A-C-H-A-V-A.com.
47The code is ALMOST30. Okay, a few years ago, I learned something that changed my entire kitchen. And I need you to know about this if you don't know already. Most nonstick cookware still contains forever chemicals like PFAS. So these are the things that will not leave your body, which can leach into your food and your home. Even some air fryers and utensils contain them. And once I knew that, I was like, no, we're upgrading. That's why I switched to Our Place. Their cookware is completely toxin-free. No PFAS, no Teflon, but the performance is unreal. The nonstick is so good. Eggs just glide out and it's ridiculously easy to clean.
23That's one of my non-negotiables when it comes to cookware. I have the four-piece cookware set, two always pans and two perfect pots. It's a great set. This covers almost everything and it replaces a whole stack of like bulky pans I used to have. You can sear, saute, steam, bake, boil, everything. 30:42I want to share what I'm doing for my health and fertility. I get this question a lot. and I think for me first and foremost I am focused on stress management stress is a silent killer we know this but a body will not be in the optimal state for create holding and creating life if it is stressed if the nervous system is highly activated and in fight or flight all the time. If your adrenals are shot, there is a cascade that is there is a hormone cascade that happens when your cortisol levels are elevated. And I know there's a lot of science behind this that y 'all can go and read, but just very simply put stress a stressed body is not where a baby wants to live for nine ten months and so we have to think about the environment that we're creating for this life and so your stress levels making sure you are you know on your hydration i know it's simple things but it's important getting adequate sleep making sure you're eating whole foods getting all of your nutrients, movement, whatever that looks like for you.
11These are very basic things that I am making sure that every single day I am checking off. I'm also, and I can get into specifics there, but I think, you know, we've talked ad nauseum about like what we're eating, what we're doing every day. But if those buckets are checked and fulfilled every single day, I am feeling good. on the relationship front i think it's incredibly important we can look at your relationships as the container part of the container into which the child is going to be born into and my belief is that your child soul has chosen you and so when they think about coming into this life you know they're they're kind of they're specific if you're surrounding yourself with people who don't lift you up, who kind of shoot you down or like, you know, aren't supportive of your dreams or P or you feel like you're around people who you can't really be yourself around.
13I promise you like your, the, the spirit of your child will work on this with you well before he or she comes in well before you get pregnant. You know, I had a friendship reckoning before I got pregnant with map. Like a bunch of friends fell off. I had to end friendships. They just disappeared. Like there was many layers and levels to it, but it was necessary. Once that cleared, I realized, oh, the people left in my life are just people who make me feel like myself, who lift me up, who inspire me, who support this like new chapter of my life that I'm moving into. So you have to look at your relationships.
58They don't need to be perfect, but they need to be purposeful and deep and thoughtful and ones that you can see very much interwoven into the new life that you are approaching. And I think number one, look at your marriage or the relationship that you're in with your partner who you want to bring this child into the world with. And just making sure that you're on the same page, that you have great communication, that you have deep respect, that you support one another. Because again, the body picks up on all of this. And the body is the place where the child is going to form over the next nine, 10 months.
41So I know it's woo woo, but it is true. The body is picking up on all of this. You can't just look to food and sleep and movement and stress. We have to expand the radius and go into the energetics and the relationships and all of that. So I am, I am looking at this again. I did this before Mav came in and I'm doing this again as we, you know, prepare to be pregnant again. And I think for me this time around, it's been about stress and it's been about trusting myself. So it's like revisiting that relationship with my intuition, making sure that I am tuned in, that I am following and trusting it when it pings me and it's really strong.
34Um, I am looking at stress in the way that, you know, parenting a toddler, um, is like the most fun thing and the most intense thing I've ever done in my life. And so in what ways am I losing the plot on, you know,
59in what ways am I not able to regulate, right? Like, and that for me generates a lot of cortisol and stress in my body. And so, so much of how I am connecting with Mav and moving through hard moments with Mav, I just imagine that it's only going to get more chaotic with more kids. So how can I now practice being the calm that they need, being the nervous system that they can borrow in every moment. How can I not let my own triggers and my own frustration come out in a way that is, I would say just not regulated. It can get, it can get ugly. I've just seen parts of myself where I'm like, whoa, that's not, that's not cute.
56Um, so that to me is, is, has been at the forefront of my mind in terms of preparation. How am I regulating in hard moments? How am I managing that stress? How am I coming back to like a homeostasis within my nervous system and my body? Um, and I've done that through breathing, through talking to my spirit team and God, and just having that conversation and asking for peace in a moment and perspective in every moment and asking for just the strength because so much of it is just like strength. So to recap, in terms of fertility, I am thinking 360. I am looking at what I am feeding myself, making sure I'm getting enough protein.
48I am getting enough fiber. I am eating a lot of plants. I am hydrating with minerals. I am reducing my caffeine intake. I do at most one cup of coffee a day. I am not drinking alcohol. Just a choice. If I do drink, it's like a glass of wine at a dinner. But I really rarely drink anymore. um I am making sure I am moving my body on a regular basis I am uh stretching I am just being intentional about taking care of my body more than just like working it out I'm stretching I'm getting massages I'm moving the lymph um I am focused on recovery a lot more these days
44and I'm getting as much sleep as I can. It's hard but sleep is incredibly important. It's when you recover. It is when you know all the systems in your body are able to recover. Parts of your body that might be healing are able to rejuvenate and actually heal. So it's incredibly important that you get sleep. Then I'm going out in the radius of the circle and I'm thinking about my relationships, the health of my relationships. How are we doing there? What's causing stress? Can we communicate more? Can we connect more intentionally? Can I be more honest? Can they use my voice? Is there a relationship that has expired and it's just no longer serving me?
29Then I am looking at, you know, my professional life? Are there aspects of that that are really not creating space for a new life to come in? Do I have to set more boundaries? Do I have to create more space? Do I have to not do certain things anymore? Do I have to reconnect with what really inspires me? Do I have to be honest with my business partner? Like there's just so many aspects of that that could be affecting stress levels that could be energetically not quite right yet for the soul of the baby to come in. So I'm looking at all of it. And again, if like the woo woo part doesn't really speak to you fine, let's get just the base like health foundational pieces down.
19But I'm telling you the energetic and kind of more spiritual aspect of this was kind of my unlock with getting pregnant with Mav. And I think it's a piece that not a lot of people are thinking about.
35Lindsey Simcik:You all know I love Revolve for when I need a really cool outfit for something or even when I just wanna refresh my basics. I'm the basics gal, but they have to be elevated. They have to be fresh. So I honestly don't look anywhere else but Revolve. It is so easy to shop on Revolve. It is a joy. It is a pleasure. And I highly recommend. I recently got a few pieces I am obsessed with. First of all, I've just overhauled all my sweaters in my closet. I just feel like I am a big girl now and I need to get really nice sweaters that don't just fall apart. And so I have a bunch that I wore recently on my trip to LA with Krista.
08Lindsey Simcik:And then I do have this top that I've had for a little bit now, but it is from Revolve. It's this like off the shoulder. It's so cute. I'm obsessed. You can search anything on Revolve and it'll pop up. The search engine is amazing. And what I really, really love, it makes it so easy to shop with curated edits. It's really awesome. 42:14Lindsey Simcik:And this offer is available for a limited time. So take advantage. Now again, that is revolve.com slash almost 30. The code is a 30 pod. Okay. So I have to share something that has been such a game changer for my mornings, especially paleo Valley's bone broth protein. I love it in chocolate. I share about it all the time. This is replacing my coffee in the morning. It's just so nourishing. So yummy. If you're like me, and you care about gut health, skin, hair, joints, but you also want something that's really clean and easy, this is it. It's made from 100 % grass-fed bone broth, and it's so simple to add into your routine.
53I throw it in with hot water, and it's delicious, but I can also add it to my coffee. I add it to smoothies for myself and for my son. It's delicious. What I love is that it's not filled with junk. No weird fillers, no artificial ingredients, just real nourishment that actually supports your body, and it's gentle on digestion, which for me is everything. I found that when I was waking up and just having coffee first thing, it was not the vibe. Okay. And this is something that is both gentle, but also giving me a ton of protein. I had two scoops to like a nice big mug with hot water. And sometimes I'll add a dash of milk, but you don't need to because there is, I believe coconut milk powder in this that is just so yummy.
34It makes it creamy, but it feels like it's one of those small upgrades that really adds up. My younger self would have benefited from something like this so much in my mornings. If you want to try it, head to paleovalley.com slash almost 30 or use code a 30 at checkout for 15 % off your first purchase. Again, my favorite is the chocolate, but they have other flavors that are just so delicious. Check it out paleovalley.com slash almost 30 or use code a 30 at checkout for 15 % off. Okay. So lately I've been thinking a lot about how I want to support my body in this season of life, in this kind of like preconception mode, conception mode.
13And it's a season of life that I've been through before. I have one son. I'm just really intentional about what I'm putting in my body and how I am making sure I'm getting the nutrients that I need. So there's so much information out there and it can feel overwhelming trying to make the right choices when it comes to your prenatal. One thing I feel really good about is that in my first pregnancy, I took Ritual's Essential Prenatal. Even if you're just in a phase of preparing your body or being intentional about foundational nutrients, it feels like such a supportive place to start. Their clinically backed essential prenatal includes key nutrients like choline, folate, and omega-3.
49And I love that the ingredients are traceable and thoughtfully sourced. I and a lot of my friends chose Ritual because I really love and trust the level of research behind it. It's the only leading prenatal backed by its own human clinical trial, and it was clinically shown to deliver key nutrients like folate, biotin, and vitamin D. I also appreciate that it uses methylated folate and a patented capsule designed to dissolve in the small intestines, which I found makes it really gentle and easy to take, especially I remember that first trimester. It was kind of like a hard thing to wrap my head around that I had to take prenatals, but it made it a lot easier.
26So compared to other supplements I've tried, It's just been a better overall experience for me. So I highly recommend don't settle for less than evidence-based support. Save 25 % on your first month of Ritual at ritual.com slash almost 30. That's ritual.com slash almost 30 for 25 % off your first month.
49I just want to note one thing that I didn't mention earlier. and that is there is a part of me that being pregnant in my later 30s I've I've had it I had a easy overall pregnancy with Mav so there's not much to complain about there but it's not like I loved every minute of it and the thought of doing it a couple more times kind of overwhelms me and if I think about oh I'm getting older and I have all of these thoughts of will my body get bounced back or, you know, just all of these kind of small, insecure, contracting thoughts. Um, but when I really sit with it and I'm really honest with myself, I think, and I've proven to myself, I think it just keeps getting better.
42And I trust that my forties, just like my thirties were, my forties are going to be my best decade yet. And I feel a sense of confidence and vitality in the years to come that are undeniable to me. And I think it's because what motherhood has done for me, it's just like really strip all the bullshit. You know, my priorities have changed. My goals have gotten clearer. My intentions have gotten stronger. My relationships, I feel like have gotten stronger overall, or the commitment to them has gotten stronger overall. And I just feel like that is the, that's the equation that I'm looking for to make this next decade the best yet.
36And so So again, maybe it's, you know, poly positive over here, but I think that's the mindset that is really going to help me to be the healthiest mom I can be to bring children into the world and be what I believe they need for as long as they need me. So that mindset piece is important. If you're not in therapy and you're having trouble with this, I highly recommend therapy. My therapist has helped me so much through these moments of just feeling like, oh God, can I do this? And I just think the mental piece, again, is kind of like that cascade effect. It can affect your stress. It can affect your body.
20You know, the body keeps the score on all those mental things that run through your mind. So don't overlook that piece. I think it is very, very, very important.
34So let me close here. if you are someone who is anxious that you are losing time, that you haven't met your person yet and that you want to have kids, but like you're entering your mid to late thirties and what does that mean? And, or maybe you're someone who hasn't even decided yet. Like it's still unclear to you whether you're going to have kids or even get married. If you're someone who just feels like your timeline is all out of whack and it's not working how you planned, I will just say that there is a plan you cannot imagine with your little human mind at play for you right now. And so if we can open ourselves even just like 10 % more to the possibility that it could be even better than your wildest dreams, I promise you something will shift.
27And that something is going to just make waves in your life. And I think you'll realize just how powerful the mind is and how when we can train the mind and also not let the mind when it runs amok, take over everything. When you can actually tune into your body and tune into your spirit and trust what you're capable of, and what it wants to do and the path that it's on, life opens up. It is not too late. And you can also empower, empower yourself by getting tested, getting your eggs tested by freezing your eggs. If that feels good to you by prioritizing your health, prioritizing, lowering your stress levels, prioritizing sleep and hydration and eating good foods.
21You deserve it. If nothing else, it's going to make you feel amazing, but it's also going to help to optimize the vessel in which your future baby, if that's where your path will grow. So, so much of this, I believe is in our hands. There are things that are out of our hands. We know this, but I would say a majority is in our hands. And so let that empower you. Don't let it overwhelm you. And I truly, truly believe that I am meant to be doing this a little later than I thought that I am meant to have maybe my last child at 4041.
04Lindsey Simcik:We'll see. Let's see how the plan goes. Who knows? And I don't know what that reason is, but I am excited for it. I'm ready for it. and I'm open to it. And I think life just gets so much more fun when we can trust it in that way. So thanks for listening of just this kind of stream of consciousness episode about yeah, my later timeline in life.
