In short

Lindsay Simsek shares an unfiltered update that she’s pregnant with baby #2 (due early summer) and answers listener questions. She discusses how she’s feeling in the second trimester, what’s different from pregnancy #1, partner transition, movement/exercise, birth fears, surprises, and what she eats in a day.

Guest backgrounds

No guests. Solo episode by Lindsay Simsek (host of Almost 30).

Key claims

Second trimester feels much better than first (less nausea/exhaustion). Parenting a toddler while pregnant is “Olympic sport,” so she relies on brief self-care “pockets.” She says partner transition is heavily affected by the second child and emphasizes daily/weekly communication and “capacity percentages” (using Brene Brown). She feels no birth fear due to prior fast labor and a new hospital-based midwifery/OB hybrid (ULA).

Notable examples

Husband away for work led to 24-hour solo parenting; she uses check-ins like “what’s your percentage?” and plans date days weekly. Exercise includes walking, strength training, Pvolve, and pregnancy-safe hot yoga occasionally. Diet centers on lemon water, bone broth protein, eggs (choline focus), big salads, and protein/veg at dinner.

42Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Almost 30 podcast. I'm Lindsay Simsek. I am here for a solo today, a very special solo, a very intimate solo, one that I've been wanting to do, but in true Lindsay fashion. I've just kept this news close to my chest for a little bit. And that news is I am pregnant. And I recently announced this on social media. And yeah, that is the news. I'm pregnant. I'm so excited. I'm pregnant with our second. And I just wanted to come on here and answer some questions that I've been getting from friends, from like people that have known that I'm pregnant and I just feel like they're really good questions that I feel like maybe a lot of you might have, whether you're thinking about getting pregnant or you are pregnant, would love to just be really transparent and honest.

45So welcome to the show. This is a place where I hope you feel less alone. I hope that you feel supported in seasons of change. Krista and I started this 10 freaking years ago, which is insane. Yeah, you guys have seen us grow up. You've seen us move through very beautiful and intense seasons of our lives from marriages and divorces to babies to, you know, just moves across the country. And all the while we've remained best friends and just incredible supporters of one another. And it's just been so wonderful to support you all and to feel supported by you all. So thank you. Thank you for being here.

31Let's get into this solo. I'm really excited. So yes, I am pregnant. It's hard to keep quiet. It's hard to keep a secret, especially as someone who's like kind of public in the way that I share my work and creativity and connect with you all. Having my Instagram stories and everything be, you know, from the shoulders up is a dead giveaway usually. And I typically have people in my DMs who just know me, not personally, but just kind of follow me and get the vibe and have their prego radar up that they're like, are you pregnant? What's happening? So a bunch of you said that. And yes, it is true.

14I am due early summer. And one of the questions I've just been getting from people in general is how are you feeling? And what's different about this pregnancy, since this is the second time round, we're doing this. And I'm feeling at this moment, and this episode comes out, I'm still in my second trimester. When this episode comes out, I believe I'm nearing the end of my second trimester. When I'm recording this, I'm kind of in the middle and I'm feeling really good. You know, I feel very blessed to say that both my first pregnancy and second pregnancy, yes, the first trimester up to about 13, 14 weeks, I'm not feeling my best.

54I'm feeling incredibly exhausted. I am feeling nauseous for a good part of the day. I'm feeling uncomfortable in my body, self-conscious of the changes in my body, mentally just not as strong. So that's always a hard one. But in second trimester, when I begin to show, and I popped way earlier in this one, yeah, I feel good overall. However, pregnant with a toddler is an Olympic sport. It should be the new Olympic sport in Milan this year. It is wild and I'm, I'm surprising myself every day with what I can do. Um, I think the positive is that it kind of makes everything go by much quicker because I'm not so focused on the fact that I'm pregnant.

48Um, I'm so focused on my son and like tending to my family. So it feels like it's going by quite quickly, but man, oh man, I just had like a whole weekend of solo parenting. My husband was away for work. And yeah, it was exhausting because our nights aren't great right now either. So it was pretty much 24 hours a day being on in some way. And I just have to find my pockets where I can support myself, whether it's, you know, 10 minutes in front of my red light while he independent plays. You know, it is while he's in the bath next to me, maybe I'm doing a little gua sha. It's getting creative. And it's those little pockets that honestly give me the, I would say, energy and just like self attention that gets me through, you know, the next 12 hours.

54Because if I go through a couple days and I haven't done anything for myself, anything that feels really good and pleasurable, it can be really hard and taxing. Not to say that being with my son isn't pleasurable. Any parent knows what I'm talking about when I say it's just different, right? Like there is just a level of discomfort I think that comes with parenting at any given moment that is very normal but also kind of creates like a depth in the moment if you stay there and you're present and you don't try to escape it and you don't give in if that's the circumstance and it just creates a much more full experience that I wouldn't describe as like fun or pleasurable.

52It's more like deep joy. It's more like curiosity and dimension to a moment that like I've never experienced before. So that's a woo-woo way of saying it, but it's really true. It's just, it's more complex than just like, oh, this is fun because it's not always fun. Um, so yeah, I am feeling good. I'm super grateful. We'll see how the trimester goes. Um, another question I've gotten is that people have heard, and I've heard this too, that the second child actually changes the life of the partner more than the one who's going to give birth. Um, and I've been asked, like, how are you guys preparing for that?

37Will you guys think about that. And Sean and I have talked about that. I think he's heard that from people. I don't know if he's fully digested it and taken it in. But we're in the process of having multiple conversations about this. It's not just like a one and done sit down. Because there's certain things you can't necessarily fully prepare for. there's so much there's so many things that are unexpected in parenthood that you just have to kind of be open to in the moment noting and then being able to have a conversation to kind of level set with your partner but the conversations we are having and going to have more of about this transition is what is our communication going to look like on a daily and weekly basis even on a monthly basis as well.

35Just really checking in with one another. He's a very, very busy professional, loves his job, works a ton, provides an incredible life for our family. And there's just logistics to that that make it pretty impossible for him to give as much time to our kids as I do, because I have the capacity to do that. And I know I'm not the only one. I know I'm speaking to you and there's a ton of people out there that are having this experience. It's not bad. It's not better. It's not worse. It's just this is our experience. And I know there are some people out there that have the other partner as the primary parent and the birthing partner goes out to work again quite quickly and whatever works for your family.

25But I think the main point I'm trying to make is communication. So on a daily basis, what type of communication are we having? In the morning when we wake up, can we check in with one another quickly? Check in about the night. How was the night? Because I'm sure one person was up with a child potentially. How are you feeling? Is there anything you need? Generally, I need him to check in with me on that because I've usually been up with Mav and I just, it feels good to have him check in. I can check in with him and say, the day ahead, how are you feeling? Do you have a lot on your plate? How's your spirit?

05How can I be supportive today or tonight when you get home? And generally, we've gotten into this flow where, you know, he'll brief me, he'll say, like, listen, I have a lot of work to finish up tonight. Let's have family dinner and let's watch a show together or let's like connect. And then I'm going to do work from like 9pm on. And so that really helps me to go into the evening knowing what I'm going to have to do alone, knowing what we're going to tag team together and knowing, you know, what he needs to get done. So it's not me guessing and it's not me being surprised. And so those daily check-ins of like what we can expect in the day, how we can support one another is really important.

49there's nothing better than getting into bed after a long day and feeling completely comfortable and relaxed that's why i've been loving cozy earth oh my gosh their bamboo sheets are made from viscose from bamboo and they stay cool all night my body temperature is all over the place right now and it's saving me so it just makes falling asleep and staying asleep so much easier more comfortable i am also obsessed with their pajama sets my husband actually recently got me a cozy earth pajama set for my birthday. 15:18On a weekly basis, I like on a Sunday to just kind of look at the week ahead. You know what's coming up this week? How many work dinners do you have? So how many dinners should I plan on cooking for us? For me, he's like, well, how many days are you recording? How many are you able to like get in your you time? Do you get to work out? You know, just checking in with one another. So we have a overarching idea of each other's capacity. And just on the capacity piece, Brene Brown talks about this. She and her husband do this, But oftentimes on a daily basis, if we remember, we'll text each other.

00I just did this the other day when he came back from a work trip. And I was like, what's your percentage at? And he was like, it's like 60%. And I was like, oh, mine's like 50%. And we just knew. We knew going into him coming back from a work trip, going into the night, like we were not our full capacity. But we could still work together to make happen what needed to happen. dinner, bath time, bedtime, all the things, but we had a lot more grace for one another. We had a lot more respect, compassion. And there wasn't this feeling of like, you should be doing more, you know, you should be doing in a different way.

37Oh, well, you weren't with our kid for the last four days, you were off working, but you didn't have anyone to take care of. So you should, you know, like all of that built up, weird resentment. We just squashed because we were like we're not at capacity or we're not at our fullest, you know, percentage. So let's just go into this, not having the highest expectations, but supporting one another and respecting one another. So that's super helpful. And I think with this second kit, I'll just kind of jump to that. It's going to be really important that we talk about what I'm going to need, especially in those first few months.

19You know, newborn life, I think in a lot of ways is easier and in a lot of ways is harder. So there's both. How are we going to support one another in this transition? What does that look like? And how are we going to support Mav in this transition? He's going to be almost three. And so, yeah, he understands what's going on, but it's going to, he's going to have his moments, I'm sure. And so how do we still make him feel just loved and give him the solo attention he needs? How do we incorporate and have him help with new baby because he's big brother. And I just, I want to be mindful about that.

58And so we as a team need to discuss what that looks like. and we need to kind of reconsider especially for him like when he's doing his work when he's at home you know and I think right now it's one kid with one kid it's easy to kind of default and slip into that work when say I'm taking him to the park and he slips into work okay fine but we're going to have a second kid. So there's going to be less time to have those pockets of work time. So how do you fit that in, get really focused work done, but then have the ability to unplug and totally plug into your family for an extended period of time and a day.

46And that's like what we'll need to talk about, you know, and it won't be perfect. I'm sure we'll have a learning curve, But again, it's talking about this, putting it on the table, making sure that both people are aware, honestly diffuses so much of the fighting that could happen and the resentment that could happen. So we are in the process. I'll keep you posted on kind of the questions we're asking one another. But those are my main concerns. And then I think just making sure we keep to our date days or date nights that we have as best as we can. And we've started that with MAV where every single weekend we have a date day as long as we can do it.

26And it's been wonderful. Great time for us to connect. And so how do we do that with two now? We can do it. You know, we will bring in the support. But I won't know how I feel until I'm in the moment. So it's just really like having the support and structure around it to help me get over the mental hurdle of like, oh gosh, I'm leaving and then we have to do this and then I have to handle, you know, like all the mental hurdles. I think that approaching a date day, especially the primary parent has, we will kind of work around. So that's what I'm thinking about there. Okay, next question I'm beginning is what are you doing movement wise?

13working out wise. So I felt like before the second pregnancy, I was working out probably, I'd say average three, best four days a week. I just felt like I was very busy with Mav, with family stuff, with home stuff, with work stuff that I wasn't prioritizing like I used to. I was, you know, going to our building gym, which is great. But I wouldn't say I was working out at max capacity. I would get in a workout class every once in a while. I would do a home workout. It just felt like I was at like 60 % in terms of my workouts. And it's funny, when I got pregnant, I just, and this happens where I just kick into high gear of like, I am growing something and it is very important.

07And I must do all that I can to support, you know, growing a healthy baby. And one of those things is movement, not only for the baby and your health, but for birth and all of that. So I actually feel like I'm working out more now that I'm pregnant. I would say four days a week. And I'm walking a lot. I'm doing strength training. So lifting heavy weights in a safe way. I love the Evlo app for this. This is, they have like great strength training workouts. We've had the founder on actually. This is not sponsored, but we've had the founder on. So you can check that out. She did an incredible week by week prenatal program.

50So every week that she was pregnant, she did a workout for the app. So I follow along with that, which has been phenomenal. And I love it because she's a doctor of physical therapy. it's all backed by research and support and science so um I just feel really good doing it I feel safe doing it and it teaches me so if I'm not if I don't have like the app readily available which is rare but if I don't I kind of know what is safe in pregnancy in terms of movements and whatnot so I love that I love Pvolve so I go to Pvolve classes here in the city P-V-O-L-V um also designed by doctors of physical therapy it's a different vibe though using different equipment and you could do it at home or in the class and i'm obsessed it feels so good it's hard and i like being in a class setting because it pushes me you know i stay committed i like to impress a teacher you know that's just me so those are my main three walking weightlifting and P-Volv.

58Every once in a while, I'll do a yoga class. I've slipped into hot yoga classes that aren't as hot, say like a 98 degrees, 95 degrees. And that is pregnancy safe so long as you are well hydrated. Talk to your doctor, obviously. But for me, it feels good every once in a while. And I've been really, really, really focused on stretching and mobility. So even just, you know, a little more than halfway through, I'm already focused on stretching and mobility to prepare for birth. I remember being in labor with my first and thinking, why the didn't I stretch? Because my hip flexors were on fire. That was probably for other reasons, but I just felt like they were so tight.

44It was crazy. So I am doing all of the mobility exercises. I kind of just get served them on Instagram now. So I'm just kind of following them there. And then in terms of stretching, I'm just making sure that my hips are really nice and flexible. um I'm doing like different pelvic stretches just mobility work um and it feels good it feels really really good so that's what I'm doing movement wise and we'll see how I'm feeling third trimester I'm excited about that because the weather's going to be better and I'll be able to walk even more I feel like my walking is mostly on the treadmill I'm excited to like get outside when the weather's better.

33Something I've learned with wellness is that having little treats you actually enjoy helps you stay consistent long term. And if I'm craving something cozy or a little indulgent, I try to find options that still support my body that are still healthy. And that's why I've been loving cachava's new coffee flavor. You guys, it is phenomenal. I love coffee. I have one cup a day. I don't give it up. It's something that I love. This tastes like a smooth coffee treat and it's made with premium decaffeinated Brazilian beans. So I can have this middle of the afternoon. Give me what I need nourishment wise.

08Don't have to worry about the caffeine crash. It really gives it this authentic flavor. It's very, very good, but it's also doing a lot more behind the scenes. So cachava is an all-in-one nutrition shake made with high quality ingredients. There's 25 grams of plant-based protein, six grams of fiber, greens, adaptogens, and nutrients that support energy, digestion, and metabolism. It's clean nutrition with no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners, and it comes in seven delicious flavors, including the new coffee. I also love their strawberry flavor and their mint chocolate, just in case coffee's not your thing.

41So treat yourself to the flavor and nutrition your body craves. Go to cachava.com and use code ALMOST30 for 15 % off your first order. It is delicious. Trust me, I've given this to many people and they're like, wait, how did I live without this? That's cachava, K-A-C-H-A-V-A dot com, code almost 30. Okay, so lately I've been thinking a lot about how I want to support my body in this season of life, in this kind of like preconception mode, conception mode. And it's a season of life that I've been through before. I have one son. I'm just really intentional about what I'm putting in my body and how I am making sure I'm getting the nutrients that I need.

21So there's so much information out there and it can feel overwhelming trying to make the right choices when it comes to your prenatal. One thing I feel really good about is that in my first pregnancy, I took Ritual's essential prenatal. Even if you're just in a phase of preparing your body or being intentional about foundational nutrients, it feels like such a supportive place to start. Their clinically backed essential prenatal includes key nutrients like choline, folate, and omega-3. And I love that the ingredients are traceable and thoughtfully sourced. I and a lot of my friends chose Ritual because I really love and trust the level of research behind it.

58It's the only leading prenatal backed by its own human clinical trial, and it was clinically shown to deliver key nutrients like folate, biotin, and vitamin D. I also appreciate that it uses methylated folate and a patented capsule designed to dissolve in the small intestines, which I found makes it really gentle and easy to take, especially I remember that first trimester. It was kind of like a hard thing to wrap my head around that I had to take prenatals, but it made it a lot easier. So compared to other supplements I've tried, it's just been a better overall experience for me. So I highly recommend don't settle for less than evidence-based support.

34Save 25 % on your first month of Ritual at ritual.com slash almost 30. That's ritual.com slash almost 30 for 25 % off your first month.

49Okay. Do you have any fears about birth this time around? Really great question. When I'm recording this, I'm about halfway through and I haven't, of course I've thought about birth, but like I haven't gone that far yet. And I also feel so proud of myself and confident after my first birth. Thankfully, I have that story and testimony to share. I had a really fast birth. My water spontaneously broke overnight. I went into active labor immediately. I labored at home for four and a half hours in the shower and then headed to the hospital and he was born like an hour or so later. I got to the hospital.

Read the full transcript

41I was eight centimeters. And so I was really, really lucky. I'm praying that this time around, um, it is also fast. I hope not so fast that I don't get to the hospital. Um, I have chosen to do a hospital birth, but I have changed practices. I was with a traditional OBGYN before who was amazing, so wonderful and supportive of my crunchy requests, but I changed over to ULA. ULA is in my neighborhood. They're an incredible midwifery and OBGYN hybrid practice. And I just felt like this was more of a fit for me and my preferences. And I'm not looked at like I'm a crazy person if I asked to do like an alternative sugar glucose test.

31Or if I say I don't want an epidural, like it just feels more aligned. So we'll see how that goes. But I will be in a hospital. So I'm not feeling the fear. Fear is something that will stop or stall labor. The body does not feel comfortable doing what it needs to do. If it's in fear, it's like that fight or flight aspect of the nervous system. It just kind of shuts everything down. And so I'm very mindful of that feeling. And if that does come up, I'm definitely going to talk to my therapist about it. I will talk to my midwife and obese about it if I need to. But I feel supported and I know myself and I will do the preparation and research to be even more prepared for birth than I was the first time.

24I felt quite prepared the first time. but I'll just keep doing my research. I'm a Virgo. I like to know. I like to just get in the mix of like what to expect. How can I breathe better? How can I relax more? How can I, you know, prep for birth in a way that allows for X, Y, and Z? Like I just, I'm interested in that. So I know myself and I trust myself in this process. So no, I'm not feeling fearful, thankfully.

57Okay, another question I'm getting is what surprised you about this pregnancy? So I haven't talked about my conception journey over the years, and I will eventually. I'm working on that over on my sub stack, Momplex. If you're not subscribed to Momplex, I would love it. go over there and subscribe. I'm working on that aspect of my story. It's something that I've just kept private for a long time. It has not been linear. And I've just been intentional about not sharing it because I've been in my own process. That's just my preference. I know people share in real time and that works for them. And I think it's beautiful and it can be very healing for the person and for other people.

51For me, I just, I want to be in my own process and privately for a while. So I will share that. But this second pregnancy, I was surprised that one, I felt insecure about the body changes in the first trimester, even though I've been through before and know the deal. I was like, really in my head, just not feeling like myself, just feeling like, oh gosh, I'm bigger than the first time. I'm this, I'm that. Just so judgmental of what was happening. And I really had to kind of pick up some of my own affirmations and mantras of like, my body is doing exactly what it needs to do in order to support a life.

37exactly what it needs to do. My body is resilient and amazing. Like remember what it did the first time. And so I just have to remind myself of that on a regular basis. I think now that I've popped, it feels more like, okay, like I'm pregnant and people know I'm pregnant. It's all good. But before in the first trimester, especially it's like, you're not really showing, but you're kind of showing it's definitely different. And then when it comes to like interpersonal personal relationships, like with your partner, you know, my husband is obsessed no matter what, which is so nice. Thank you. And I'm thankful.

11And also so much of the intimate experience is based on what's happening in your own head and how you think about your own body. So, you know, he and I would talk about that because it just, yeah, it was trippy for me. So I was surprised. I was surprised I still had that.

32I was surprised I experienced nausea. Yes, like the first one never threw up, thankfully, but I only experienced nausea like afternoon into evening. So it wasn't in the morning, which was nice. I had like the first half of my day to work out, eat well, feel normal, and then it would just kind of roll in. So that was kind of surprising and different. um and I'm just like I guess surprised that like how early I feel like I've kind of looked pregnant but I've heard that um so I guess it's not so much a surprise but like you just you're like this is interesting but normal the body knows the body has that memory so it's going to go there sooner.

16But otherwise, it's been very similar to my first pregnancy. So not too, too many surprises. What I will say that has been fun and surprising is that so many of my friends are pregnant right now and are due around the same time. So I just feel really excited and supported. And like, I have a little crew that I can tap into and be like, how are you feeling? What's happening? What are we doing now? What are we getting? What are we buying? What are we not doing? It's just really nice when people are going through something at the same time as you. So that's been a lovely surprise. Last question that I will cover.

59Oh, sure. What I eat in a day for second trimester. Okay. So let's do this. First thing in the morning, I do my lemon water, lemon with warm water. It's something that like I haven't always done, but I was just noticing that putting coffee in my body, the first thing was not making me feel good. So I have my lemon water just really good for balancing the peach and your body. It just feels very, um, cleansing. Um, it kind of wakes me up. I don't know. The lemon wakes me up a bit. So I love that. And then I'll do my two scoops of the paleo Valley chocolate bone broth protein with water. I might add a splash of milk it's delicious it tastes like hot chocolate but it is I believe the two scoops is like 25 grams of protein something crazy so that's really great get my regular water in with minerals electrolytes and then I make eggs generally so our friend the glucose goddess who has a book out I believe it's out now um the nine months that count forever and she talks about this, but it's incredibly important to get choline and protein during your pregnancy.

09And you should be eating about six eggs a day, I think it is, which sounds like a lot to most people. But I get like, I'll get four in the morning and then I'll hard boil eggs and have them like two for lunch or one for lunch, one for dinner. So I get it in. And so I have eggs in the morning, whether scrambled, sunny side up, hard boiled. I'll have some fruit, you know, know, whatever fruit I want to have, maybe with a little nut butter. And that's usually what I have. I don't, I don't complicate it. I'll have like Mav's leftovers, you know, like sometimes he has a little sausage or yogurt with a little crunchy.

49But other than that, like it's usually eggs, fruit for fiber, all that stuff. So that's what I'm having for breakfast. For snacks, I mean, it depends. I'll have an apple with peanut butter. I'll have beef sticks from Paleo Valley, which I love and I've talked about. They're super, super good. I love seed crackers. I'll have seed crackers with like a cottage cheese or another like hummus dip or something. And then for lunch, I love to have like a big salad and I'll put it in an obnoxious big bowl or the big container or it comes in and I'll shake it up with whatever green. So it might be spinach, arugula or romaine.

35And then I'll have anything. I'll have cucumbers. I'll have peppers. I'll have cooked sweet potato. I might have pumpkin seeds. I might have pepitas in there. I might have cheese in there. I'll put salmon or chicken or steak, whatever protein, hard boiled egg, avocado, mix it up with a primal kitchen ranch, highly recommend. And it's great. So I just love a big salad. It's refreshing. I've been wanting refreshing things during this pregnancy. So anything like juicy, refreshing, whatever. So that's been great. Dinner, I will generally have a protein and a vegetable and sometimes a little bit of like white rice.

22I make a bone broth, coconut rice that I love, or I'm trying to think like a starchy, like a sweet potato. But generally, I really double down on the veg and the protein. So that'll be a steak, a marinated flank steak, I'll have a burger, I'll have salmon, soul, you know, chicken, turkey, all the things, uh, meatballs. So I try to just keep those different proteins on hand, make it easy for me to cook, to grab out of the fridge. Um, and then veggies I'll do broccoli. I'll do spinach. I'll do Brussels sprouts. I'll do broccolini. Um, trying to get enough iron through my food. I'm trying to get enough fiber through my food, enough protein, obviously.

20And yeah, just eating my usual healthy things. And I don't eat for two. I don't eat necessarily more, maybe a few hundred calories more, but I feel satiated. I feel good. I feel overall energized. And yeah, so that's generally what I'm doing.

42better help this episode is sponsored by better help i think one thing we don't talk about enough is how financial stress can affect our mental health it's really easy to feel like you're the only one struggling i've been there but the reality is that most people experience some level of money stress at different points in their lives sometimes that stress shows up as anxiety, losing sleep, or tension in relationships. And it doesn't mean you've failed. Sometimes it just means you need the right kind of support. Therapy has been so helpful for me with this, and you can explore your relationship with money.

23It has zero to five grams of net carbs, zero grams of sugar, and up to 32 grams of fiber. Fiber is so important. So, so important. So it's an easy swap when I'm thinking about things like fiber goals or balanced meals. I've been using their sliced bread for sandwiches for my family, and I love their tortillas. They are just, they're phenomenal. They bake up so nice, so soft, so like yummy and chewy. I've been using those for veggie wraps or quesadillas. and I'm excited because their Hero Noodles, which have 12 grams of protein and just 80 calories per serving, are new and they're phenomenal. I gave Mav their elbow noodles the other night.

02He loved them. He calls them elbows. So it's such a simple way to enjoy the foods you love without feeling like you're sacrificing flavor. Hero Bread is offering 10 % off your order. Go to hero.co and use the code A30POD, A30POD at checkout. That's A30POD at hero.co. I take a prenatal. Right now I'm taking wenatal, which I really love. I'm also taking an omega-3 from Puri. From Body Bio, I'm taking the PC oil. Highly recommend. PC oil, I'm reading this from the website, is a phosphatidylcholine. Phosphatidylcholine, supplement for targeted and effective brain support. And there's a ton of research out there too that it's an incredible just supplement during your pregnancy and postpartum for milk supply, just for postpartum recovery.

03It's great for cellular health, so highly recommend that. and I think that's all I'm taking on a daily basis. Yeah, I'll slip in obviously vitamin C. I get that in my prenatal, but sometimes I'll double up because it's six season, all that. So vitamin C, vitamin D3, K2, glutathione. Oh, I take magnesium as well from Puri. I love Puri's magnesium and I love symbiotic's magnesium. So that's my day. I get some sweet stuff in there. you know, we do our thing. We have a cookie. We have chocolate. I don't know, but nothing too crazy. Actually, I'm not craving that. It's more like the fruits and the refreshing things that I'm oddly craving.

47So that's it, y 'all. That is a fire round of questions that I've been getting asked privately and in my DMs about my pregnancy and all the things. I'm sure there's more questions I would love to answer, you can follow me on Instagram at Lindsay Simsek and I'm in the DMs, but I also would love your questions because I want to write about it on Momplex on Substack, which has just been so fun to kind of pour my motherhood experience in there. So follow me there, submit questions, message me. I am in there. I love you guys so much. Thank you for the support. I appreciate you and just speaking to anyone who is on their conception journey.

30Um, mine has not been linear. We have experienced loss and disappointments and confusion and not trusting my body and just feeling all the feels. And so I just say to you that your body's incredibly intelligent and that this process is already shaping you. You know, if you want to become a parent, it will work on you well before you have kids. And it's not always easy. And I'm just so sorry for anyone moving through just the depths of how hard it can be to conceive. And I just pray for you. I hold the vision for you. And I'm here to support you so you can DM me. I'm happy to chat in the DMs, voice note back and forth.

20And for those that are pregnant and expecting. I'm so happy for you. And also know that it is your, it's a wild ride and your body is changing so much and mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, it is next level. It is just a next level experience that will crack you open. Um, and your life is about to change, you know, if this is your first and it's also about to change if this is your second or third, like it just changes every time. And, um, I think anyone who says like, oh, you know, your life shouldn't change. They should just fit into it. I don't believe you. And I don't believe in that.

01Um, it's, it is a big change and it should, it should change you. Uh, this is the joy of being human, of just having this human experience of like experiencing different thresholds and, and all the things. So all that to say, I'm with you. I love you. And I will see you on the next episode. Bye.
