In short
Miranda Kerr discusses her “2026 reset” approach to beauty and fitness at 43—her current skincare routine, the tech/devices she uses, and why she’s not launching new Cora Organics products this year. She also shares red-carpet and fashion-show details (including a minimal mascara moment) and her meditation-first mindset.
Guest backgrounds
Miranda Kerr is a former Victoria’s Secret model and beauty entrepreneur; she founded Cora Organics (launched in Australia in 2009, concept began in 2006). She’s a mother of four and has worked with major fashion gatekeepers like Stephen Meisel and Nicholas/ Nicola from Balenciaga. Hosts Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins are former beauty editors.
Key claims
She uses a “cleanse, mist, moisturize” base plus turmeric glow drops (AM), retinol alternative serum (PM), and vitamin C (AM). She relies on non-nano zinc oxide mineral sunscreen and says it can be reapplied without ruining makeup. She claims retinol-alternative products deliver retinol-like results with less irritation, citing “85%” of retinol fans reporting better results. She says she’s pausing new launches to protect profitability and focus on existing hero products.
Notable examples
Silky Sun Drops 100% Mineral Sunscreen (applied under makeup and touched up with a beauty blender/fingers). A six-minute arm sculpting routine (5–10 lb or bodyweight). Light therapy devices (Lima red light/low-level laser; “New Face”/softwave; microcurrent before a Met ball). Turmeric mask as an at-home “facial” with exfoliating/brightening uses.

0:08Welcome to Breaking Beauty, the podcast all about the breakthrough people, products, and moments in beauty. We're your hosts, Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins.
0:21Welcome back to Breaking Beauty podcast, everyone. We're so happy to be here back on this Wednesday. I'm Carlene. This is my co-host Jill Dunn, and we are two former beauty editors turned beauty podcasters. And every single week we are here in your feeds talking about the breakthrough people, products, and moments in beauty. And we have been doing that for nine years, over 450 episodes. And we've been joined by some epic guests like facialist Joanna Check. She was just on our show, the realest esthetician out there, makeup by Mario, Tracee Ellis Ross, Haley Bieber, the list goes on. So we have a whole back catalog if you want to explore.
0:58Yes. And today's show is no exception. We have Miranda Kerr in the house with us today, former Victoria's Secret model and beauty entrepreneur. She was doing clean beauty before clean beauty was really even a thing. Yes. What started as a passion project sparked by her family's health journey has turned into a global phenomena with Cora Organics, which launched in 2009 and it's now sold in over 30 countries. And Miranda is also a mother of four. Let's not forget while she's doing all of this. And she's really navigated the highest peaks in fashion from walking Karl Lagerfeld runways to attending Met Gala balls.
1:39And today we're going to be catching up on everything from getting red carpet ready to how she keeps fit now that she's in her 40s. And of course, her skincare routine. That's right. And if you guys want the whole backstory on Cora Organics, Actually, Miranda has been on our show once before. We're going to link to that in our show notes. And she told us her whole journey with creating the brand and her favorite products there. So you have to check that out. So today we're asking Miranda about her, what's in her routine these days. Of course, we love to like peek inside the cosmetic bag. We're going to ask her thoughts on some of these treatments that we hear are like hot in Hollywood.
2:14We have to ask. And we're also going to ask her why as a founder, she is not planning on maybe launching anything in 2026. So with all of that, welcome, Miranda Kerr. Thank you. Thanks for having me. Of course. Nice to see you both. You too. Yes. We have to set the scene, first of all. Miranda was on point with the lighting in this room. She was like, it's going to be like this. I'm going to sit on this side. I love the whole professional model coming out. And it's like it's benefiting us all. I love it. And I need to ask you about because when we're recording this, You just came from the Dior show last night.
2:53You were wearing this dress that was like shell pink. It was Dior. It was so stunning. So tell us about the night and the show and everything. Well, the dress itself was, I felt, very ethereal and very feminine. But still it had some like quite an intense fashion moment to it.
3:18Miranda Kerr:It wasn't, it had like, and that's what I like about Jonathan Anderson. Like he knows how to bring something to life in a modern way. And it has that fashion element to it. So even though it was feminine and ethereal, it still had that, that strength of fashion that people kind of are looking for. Absolutely. And his whole collection last night was, was like that. It was really a sensation for the eyes because there was like explosions of flowers like coming off the runway and off the dresses. And the way that I'm such a tactile person. And so I was like the sensory overload with the different fabrics and the shimmer.
4:04Miranda Kerr:And there was like velvet pieces. and then there was like beading and then there were layers of flowers that were just floating down the runway as if they were like just gliding down the runway. Not only that, I mean, the shoes were beautiful. The handbags were gorgeous. There were little ladybugs there. It really was like spring had come to life and it felt very invigorating to me as a collection. And I've obviously been in the industry for so long. So it kind of, it takes a lot to kind of re-inspire me because I've seen a lot. I've been a part of a lot of these fashion shows. And now I'm sitting there front row with my husband and getting to enjoy the show from another perspective.
4:54Miranda Kerr:And it's beautiful to see. And it's beautiful to see all the attention to detail, even the nails, like, and the hair and makeup, like how they did the makeup last night. It's funny because I noticed when the girls were walking, they didn't have mascara on. Oh, interesting. From what I could tell. I love that you noticed that detail, though. I know. Right? So the funny part was, I was on my way to the show with no mascara on. And I looked at my husband. He's like, I was like, I'm not wearing mascara. Do you think that's okay? Because I normally am fine not wearing mascara for a fashion show or for, I've done that plenty of times or for like a photo shoot, right?
5:35Miranda Kerr:But to wear on a red carpet, no mascara, that would have been my first time. Maybe, maybe one more time I've done it when I was more youthful. But at 43, I was like, oh, like I'm like on a fine line. Is that more youthful or is that going to make me be a little more, like not put together? And so I love my husband. So I asked him, and I always want to look good for my husband, of course. And he's like, maybe just a touch. just put a touch he goes it's LA it's nighttime I was like oh okay he goes but at the end of the day you're the one who knows this stuff right so because he said that it got in my head and I was like okay in the car just before we're about to pull up I like just put a little bit of mascara on and it turned out fine it looks it was very minimal right but then when I saw the girls walk out without no mascara I was like honey see I did tell you you were the one that knew yeah Your instincts were right.
6:28Miranda Kerr:My instinct was right, but at the same time, it was... Yeah. It does change a look a lot. It really does. It's crazy that we're talking about this right now because I swear to God on the way over here, I almost didn't wear mascara, which is like unheard of for me. But I was like, when I put my eyeliner on, I was like, I kind of like it just like that. I know, right? It's a new thing to sometimes like less is more. Yeah. Sometimes it adds a bit of like harshness where it was so much softer before. Yeah. I think people are evolving too, even with brown mascara being so popular now. Yes, I did brown on my eyes today because sometimes it's nice to have something, especially when you haven't had enough sleep.
7:03Miranda Kerr:So I just got back from a meditation retreat. So yesterday, my day started at 3 a.m. I went to two different meditations in Dallas. And then I got on the plane, came back and went straight to the show. Oh, my goodness. Oh, wow. Yeah, I loved it. And then, by the way, if you guys are hopefully watching this on YouTube, but Miranda brought us a flower today. I didn't even think of the connection. Right? so this is probably why you were inspired wow that's right this is from your garden you know I've never bought a flower to a podcast okay on my way here I saw that flower and it was like calling my name and I was like hi beauty and then I normally with my son who's two years old he's napping right now I normally would be like let's smell the flower and he's like I've got so many photos of him like smelling the flower I try to really get him into the moment and enjoy the moment.
7:53Miranda Kerr:And I just think it's the best way, one of the best ways to get in the moment. So this flower was calling my name. So I was like, and then I thought I wanted to share it with you both. Thank you. It's a yellow rose in case you're not watching. So stunning. And it's so pretty. So this retreat that you went to, was there ayahuasca involved? Oh no. Have you ever been to one of those? No. My girlfriend went. The stories. I've heard. The stories are for days. To be honest, I just don't know if that's for me. Like I've been meditating since I was 17. And I feel like I can get to those states through my own state of mind and my own.
8:31Miranda Kerr:And I took my two-year-old with me and my other boys were at school. So I was just grateful to be immersed in it just for those moments. And at some stage, I'll go back and finish it. Yeah. Yeah. That's great. It's a good thing to do every once in a while. It's like a reset. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, because as I said, I've been meditating since I was 17, doing a different type of meditation. And he incorporates a lot of different techniques and hypnotherapy a little bit because he was a hypnotherapist. And he incorporates like a little bit of Kriya, which is from like Yogananda. So anyway, it's all about activating the different energy centers, healing the different energy centers and becoming the best versions of ourselves.
9:16Miranda Kerr:So I was like, listen, we've got to bring this into schools. What can we do to bring this into schools? So that our children have this toolbox so they can go through life in the space of their heart and knowing that their possibilities are endless. Imagine the world we could create. I know. It's so true. I want to ask you about your modeling career. What is the moment that stood out to you most? I know it's hard. You must have so many. It's been a long journey. I think, you know, the moments for me when I first walked the Victoria's Secret runway show, that was in 2006. Yeah. That was very surreal.
9:59Miranda Kerr:And then what was crazy is when I first met Stephen Mizell, that was like something else that took my career to a higher level because normally models that are in the catalog world don't really do both. They don't really do fashion unless you've gone from fashion. Then you go to right like Giselle, like she was in fashion and then she went to like Victoria's Secret. Me, I came from catalog. Like I was doing JCPenney catalogs. Like I was doing catalogs in Japan. I was like the catalog girl. Like I was just like, OK, smile a hundred times. Like I did. They kind of typecast. And also and also at that time, it was a very it was about fierce fashion.
10:41And you have a very more of a cherub type of a sweet look, right? Yeah. So, yeah, you would have been against the mold. It was really kind of like Eastern Europe. Yes. Very sharp. Yes. Fierce. Angular. Yeah.
10:56Miranda Kerr:And so when Stephen Meisel, when he wanted to do a casting, it was for, I guess, a Prada campaign, I think it was. And so I was one of the, I don't know, 10 girls that he picked to do a casting. And for the casting, he said, I want the girls to go on stage and sing whatever song they want. Okay. So I love singing. Okay. Actually, I really, so I used to sing with my grandma by the piano as a little girl. So it's something that lights me up. So I was like, yeah, I got this. Now, what song am I going to sing? Let's think about this. What could like express my soul? Yes. And so I picked Peggy Lee Fever.
11:34Okay. Wow. And I was very into it, loving the moment. and I actually had a lot of fun.
11:42Miranda Kerr:And then he picked me to be part of the campaign. And that was when I started working with him. And then he got me to shoot Italian Vogue for him. It was like this huge spread. Very high fashion. Very high fashion, yeah. And between him and then Nicholas from Balenciaga, so Nicola from Balenciaga, who's now with Louis Vuitton, he believed in me, and Stephen believed in me, It was kind of around the same time. And I was walking the runway before pregnant, while pregnant, and then after I just gave birth. So it was like this, I don't know. And I had that relationship with him for so long as being one of his girls.
12:25Miranda Kerr:And that was the path, right? The path. You had to, you know, you get in with the fashion photographer and then you get the magazine. And then the fashion world opens up to you. Back then, those were the gatekeepers, as it were. What is this song, though? I don't know this song. Sleever. Oh, you give me fever, fever in the morning, fever all through the night. Yeah, I love it. It's a good one. It's a hot song. No wonder.
13:06Light Stem is one of our show partners this week. We know that red light therapy devices are all over social media. We get asked constantly which ones work, which are worth the investment. So I want to share with you the Light Stem Ellipsa and really the difference with the Light Stem Ellipsa is that it has 868 professional grade LEDs. And this patented technology, it simultaneously emits multiple wavelengths or colors of light. And these different wavelengths work together to give your skin a more healthy and glowing appearance. So there's wavelengths of blue, amber, light red, dark red, and infrared with a total of 868 LEDs.
13:49It's FDA cleared to treat mild inflammatory acne and it treats both wrinkles and acne with one device. And I really love how you use this product actually. Instead of a mask that sits on your face, it's like a dome that you lie down and then you put over your head. So how easy is that? You lie down and you're treating your skin at the same time. So I think that's brilliant. And Light Stim products are made in the USA with over 60 ,000 devices sold to dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, and estheticians. So if you want the same medical grade technology at home that doctors use to treat wrinkles and slow aging, go to lightstim.com.
14:28That's spelled L-I-G-H-T-S-T-I-M.com. Use our code beauty to save 10%. Once again, that's code beauty at lightstim.com. We'll link to this offer in our show notes and on our website. Now back to the show. Have you ever looked at a successful woman and thought, wow, she's so lucky? Well, spoiler alert, luck doesn't just happen. We have the power to create it. I'm your host, Les, and She's So Lucky is the podcast where we pull back the curtain on what it really takes to create your own luck. Every week, I sit down with badass women, entrepreneurs, creatives, wellness experts who have built their success on their own terms.
15:11We talk wins, failures, and the lessons they actually learned along the way. No fluff, no BS, just real stories to inspire you to take up space and go after what's yours. So if you're ready to tap into your own magic, join me for She's So Lucky. New episodes drop every week.
15:43I need to ask you because this was a very real thing back in those days when you were on the Victoria's Secret runway of just like getting ready for the shows. Like I remember you've talked about it publicly before too, like how rigorous it was. Especially like, like you said, before you had a baby, pregnant, after. So what do you remember about that, that maybe you wouldn't do again, or you thought was maybe a bit too intense?
16:08Miranda Kerr:I'm honestly not one that like, I don't really enjoy vigorous exercise. Yeah. And I had a trainer who I love who worked with me and had to push me to like do running, to do boxing. I'm like, I'm not a boxer. Let's do yoga. He's like, come on, there must be something you're angry about. I'm like, I'm not angry person.
16:33Miranda Kerr:He's like, come on, let's get worked up. And I'm like,
16:40but the running and uh after he pushed me on the running I really did get the runner's high so I got used to that but it's something you have to keep up because otherwise you're like yes absolutely me now yeah I'd like to get back to the runner's high but yeah that was a real thing though right like you almost had like a boot camp to get ready yeah yeah yeah
17:02Miranda Kerr:Yeah, but it was worthwhile because then you felt more confident in yourself. But I mean, to be honest, the whole time I was an angel, I had to look my best. 100%. Yeah. And let me tell you now, I'm barely doing a 10-minute exercise. Yeah. We're at a different stage. Different era. It's hard. You've got toddlers. Carrying him around, my two-year-old, that's my workout. It's a medicine ball, basically. Yeah, we have stairs. I take him up the stairs. I'm like, okay. And we. Megan Roop posted that she had you on a arm routine for the. Yeah, she does a lot of these. And like you would be so surprised a six minute arm routine.
17:40Yes. Can really get your sweating, can activate so many muscles.
17:45Miranda Kerr:Like when I first spoke to her about it, I was like, look, I don't have any time. I'm a busy mom. She's like, just commit to 10 minutes a day. Yeah. Like this was before the arm routine. Yeah. She's like 10 minutes a day. I'm going to text you and I'm going to say, here, do this. Like, yeah, first thing in the morning after you've done your meditation, before the kids wake up, just do these 10 minutes. Like, and I was pretty good for a while, but I did fall off the bandwagon after the Met. So I got to get back into it. Yeah. Cause this was for Met prep guys, by the way, you have that beautiful dress where it was, I think it was around the neck, but all arms.
18:20Miranda Kerr:Yes. And so there was this arm routine. It was six minutes. Yeah. But it really activates. You feel the burn. You feel the burn. That's like the Tracy Anderson method. Well, there's on TikTok, all it is is six minute. There's a girl who's coined one, the bridal arm circuit. And the girlies are all doing it. And the before and afters, I'm telling you, are wild. And it is only like six minutes. So I'm like, oh, yeah. How heavy are the weights? Like 10 pounds? That seems like a lot. I think it's five pounds. You can do three. You can do three pounds. Or you can use your own body weight. You're still going to feel it.
18:53Yeah. Oh, yeah. Absolutely.
18:55Miranda Kerr:But I'm sometimes there going and she's like, come on. I know it's funny. And I'm like, and then I told myself, oh, three more minutes of that. Relatable, Miranda. And my husband is like, oh, yeah, come on. And then I made him do it one time. He's like, never again. Never again. That hurts way too much. And I'm not going to make fun of you anymore. Yeah. Yeah. You're like, see? Yeah. Exactly. We recently saw on Instagram. Did you ever think you'd be included in Katy Perry's Instagram photo carousel that included our former Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. Oh, yeah, the carousel. Yeah, I love a carousel.
19:29You just never know what you'll see in a carousel. Never know what's going to pop up. So we were at a baby-to-baby Mother's Day event. Oh, nice. And she was like, let's take a photo. And I was like, okay. So we took a photo and then I ended up in that feed. So there you go.
19:43Miranda Kerr:There we go. You just never know where the photo is going to go. Exactly. We need to catch up about Cora Organics, too. We have one here. One of the gorgeous products. This is the Silky Sun Drops 100 % Mineral Sunscreen. I used this yesterday. Maybe you could share that tip that you shared with us off the mic. I liked that. So this product took me five years to develop. Oh, wow. Because it's like one of the first certified organic sunscreens. Yeah. Because there's a certain amount of minerals that you can have to meet the standard of being certified organic. And they're the most strict standards in the world.
20:18Miranda Kerr:But they're the standards that I wanted for myself and my family because of the history with my mom and her tumors on her spleen. So I really just want products that are as pure as they can be, but as powerful as they can be. So this product, I went back and forth and I need it to, you know, be, because I've been in the industry for so long, I know what works from a textural point of view. Yeah. Under makeup and all of that. Under makeup. And the thing about this is you can wear it beautifully under makeup, but also you can apply it throughout the day with a little beauty blender or with your finger so i'm going to just show you like what i was saying before so you can use a tiny bit like that and then you can kind of dab it on top of your makeup and so it gives you kind of like a beautiful luminous is that what you say luminous yeah a bit of a highlight highlight with a highlight like a bit of a pearl yeah yeah it is a bit right it's like if you look at that yeah to that yeah you see a big difference yeah absolutely it's pretty and also I use it as a primer on the outside of my face not in the middle so last night for the show to get that glowy skin fresh face look I use this as my primer nice underneath because as you see it gives you the most beautiful glow look at that yeah it's so pretty without iridescent it's iridescent yeah without the white cast but it just it's kind of like you it's your skin comes alive Yeah.
21:45Yeah. It's really nice.
Read the full transcript
21:46Miranda Kerr:Your skin comes alive and it's protecting your skin and it's made with non-nano zinc oxide. Yeah. And it's, you know, it's something I wear every day. It doesn't matter if it's overcast. And it's also something I wear on the red carpet. Yeah. It's like, and then you can reapply it, keep on in your bag or on your desk. That's really key. And it doesn't mess up your makeup as you can see. Exactly. Because it is hard to do that. We always get asked, how do you how do you touch up sunscreen? Hopefully I look balanced. Do I look balanced? Yeah. Yes. Or do I need to actually put a little on this side?
22:18Sure. Yeah. I'll just stay here. You've got more of that at home. So yeah, do that. Why did you decide not to launch any new products from Cora Organics this year? Because yeah, yeah. Because we're always like when we do a catch up, we're like, what's new? What's next? And they're like, actually, this year there will be no new launches. So yeah, tell us about that. So obviously as a founder, I own the company. I started the company.
22:42Miranda Kerr:The first concept was 2006. Wow. And then I launched in Australia 2009. So I've had the company for 20 years. The company's 95 % mine. And, you know, I have been running it like my baby. But at the same time, I've had other people, you know, some really great team members who I work with who have helped me get the company to where it is, right? Because we all have to work together. And I think it's so important to work with people that are in their passion and that really understand the specifics and the intricate details of say the finance or the scalability and whatnot. So I had a very large team and it just kept growing and growing and growing and then, you know, our overheads were getting really high.
23:33Miranda Kerr:And when I looked at what was happening, I was like, okay, like we're still, we're still a small company in relation to like these big companies out there, but we're being run like a really big company. And so what could we do to increase our profitability and just really make sure that everything is like as tight as it can be, especially with the way the economy is right now. What can we do to make sure that we don't, you know, fall into a position that isn't good for the company? And so one of those things was looking at every time, every year we were normally doing multiple products. That was a very large cost.
24:20Miranda Kerr:And I said, so here we were talking about, you know, with my team, I was like, they were talking about what products should we be launching. I said, honestly, we have incredible products. I personally don't feel like the line is missing anything. I don't want to just create something for the sake of creating it. Bravo. Yeah. A little restraint is a good thing as a founder. How about we just focus on the amazing products we have, spend our money getting those products out there. People, I think everyone should have that turmeric mask. Yeah, it is a great one. Doesn't matter if you believe in organic skincare or not.
25:00Miranda Kerr:Yeah. That's a product that everyone should have, in my opinion. Let's market that and get that into, make that be a household name, because I don't, you know, it's good for men, it's good for women, it's good for teenagers. Yeah. You know, all the dermatologists love it. They provide, they give it to people for the back of their arms, you know, obviously on the skin as well. But there are so many kind of uses for it. You can use it as an exfoliant in the shower, which is the way I use it. You can use it as a deeply detoxifying mask that draws out impurities and gives your skin an instant brightness.
25:32Miranda Kerr:It's like an at-home facial in a tube. And so when you've got all of those uses for one product, and everyone else has a lot of other products out there, and people might be kind of like in their own space, really enjoying a certain moisturizer or a certain other product. I don't feel like, I feel like this is in a category of its own because it is so incredible. And actually it's prevented me from having to have like, you know, facials, especially during COVID. I was like, I actually realized I don't really need to get facials. I could do it for the luxury of it. But this really does deep clean.
26:12Miranda Kerr:It exfoliates. It brightens. Yeah, it's a beautiful product. And it's like a facial at home, right? So I was like, let's lean into that. Let's lean into the science of the incredible results we're getting with these retinol alternative products that we have. We have a serum and a moisturizer that uses Bacucci oil, alfalfa extract, and acai to, you know, help give you retinol-like results without the irritation, without the dryness. And 85 % of customers who are diehard retinol fans said they got better results from using our retinol alternative than traditional retinol. Right. I was like, let's lean into that.
26:56Yeah.
26:56Miranda Kerr:If they're really wanting to help with fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture, this product helps with that. I'm just so happy with the selection of products that we have. Yeah. And the benefits and the before and afters. I was like, let's just take a pause. Yeah. Let's focus on these products that are really transforming people's skin and not try and spread ourselves too thin. Yeah. Just because it's what everyone else is doing. Exactly. And also, you're here for the planet. Your brand has always been. Yes. Less is more. Exactly. So surplus doesn't really lend itself to that. Yeah, yeah. You know, and I totally agree with that.
27:36I think it's like a baller move, actually. Oh, thanks. I do, because I think certainly people may not, even if they decided not to launch products, I don't know if they would talk about it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I appreciate that you're giving the reasoning. Yes. you're like we sometimes not more isn't always more more isn't always you just you need the right people to know about what you have yeah yeah and focus on that the body oil my god that body oil i'm so proud of that product yeah yeah that body oil is like is that a noni one too
28:08Miranda Kerr:or it's a noni glow body oil and literally every time i apply it like because i like really get in there i put it all like over my body morning and night into every orifice i'm like it feels like a luxurious treatment and a sensorial experience that I'm giving to myself of like, it's like a self-love experience. And as you know, a lot of all of our products, but a lot of people don't realize this, all our products are filtered through crystals to bring that loving vibration. So rose quartz crystals, we have other crystals in addition to rose quartz in some of the line, like the turmeric has citrine and the retinol alternative has amethyst in addition to the rose quartz but that's so that we're all energetic beings but when you're putting these products on you feel that energy if you know you may or may not it's it's there it's not going to hurt you right and then in addition to that like some people be like oh that's so woo woo but hey as human beings we are energetic beings and there's science to prove that that's right and at the end of the day it's not going to hurt you and then on the back of the packaging there's like love, bliss, joy, like these little words to kind of uplift your monotonous routine.
29:21Miranda Kerr:So I really want women especially to kind of embrace that and really get into the self-love aspect of these products because we've got to do this routine every day. I mean, we haven't got to, but as women, we generally do this routine every day. Why don't we do it with intention and be like all loving on ourselves and then we can go out in the world and shine bright. Especially when the world is what it is today. I mean, we have to fill our own cup because it's crazy what's happening in the world.
30:00Today's episode is brought to you in part by Medicaid. All right. So we all know how big K Beauty is. It's completely revolutionized the beauty industry and inspired a lot of brands and innovation as well. Ingredient of the year, I'm going to call it right now is PDRN. You've likely heard of it. It originated in Korean clinics with injectable treatments, and it's often derived from salmon DNA. Now, not everyone wants to put salmon DNA on their face. So I'm here to tell you that there is a vegan version from a brand that we really trust called Medicaid. Medicaid is a clinically proven British skincare brand known for age defying results.
30:40All of Medicaid's products undergo clinical testing. They have amazing before and after results. Dermatologist recommended as well. So when I heard that they had a PDRN serum, you know, I had to try it. It's called the XO PDRN Prismatic Plus Serum. It unlocks the power of a non-invasive vegan PDRN through advanced biotechnology. And it's proven to boost skin's natural rejuvenation by more than 50%. So I've just started using it. I really appreciate that this vegan formula is delivering full spectrum rejuvenation results that are said to visibly improve skin health, boost skin volume, improve with luminosity, skin tone and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
31:25Also firmness, which I definitely am needing these days. It's powered by that vegan prismatic PDRN to help support skin recovery. And I also really like that it helps with visible redness. It's going to help with that calming. I have perimenopause onset rosacea. So that's important to me. It also has their triple exosome complex in the formula that helps to strengthen that skin barrier for healthier skin. If you want to check it out, visit Medicaid.us, that's M-E-D-I-K and the number 8.us, or the new Medicaid.ca to discover more. Use code BREAKING20 to save 20 % off your first order. 33:55What do you do for your skincare routine now versus in your 30s, let's say, like 10 years ago? Is there anything you do different now that might surprise people? Yeah, I would say cleanse mist moisturize is what I was doing. Cleanse mist moisturize.
34:11Miranda Kerr:Yeah, like cleanse, mist, moisturize. I call it cleanse, mist, moisturize because we have a mist that I use as a toner, but I also use it to reset my makeup throughout the day as well. Cleanse, mist, moisturize is what I've done for many years. And I think that's like the basic for your skin to just kind of clean your skin. And then you add in the exfoliation, which is what I was talking about with the scrub. And now I'm into the serum. So the serum I use in the morning is the turmeric glow drops. And then at night, I use the retinol alternative serum. And I also use the vitamin C serum in the morning.
34:47Miranda Kerr:So those are additions that I put in there. I'm very much into technology as well. So because I'm 43, I'm using and leaning into a few devices. So we've got the Lima device. Yes. What is that again? Yeah. It's a red light therapy. Okay. And it has low level laser therapy as well. Okay. So I'm doing that. it's like a handheld wand but you kind of have to hold it on yeah one area for three minutes yeah so it takes a while it takes a while yeah so maybe when you're laying in bed yeah just kind of but you I put my timer on for three minutes and then and I just do the areas that I want to kind of lift so I do like here here yeah and then right here do you find do you notice a difference you know I'm doing a lot of things so I don't know which is moving the needle yeah but i really should i think wasn't didn't joanna tell us she had a limo joanna said that she has one by her bed yes however we didn't get we didn't get to circle back to it we know she does yes yeah it's very important to keep it by your bed otherwise you won't use it yeah yeah i also am old school with the new face okay i haven't heard that in a minute it helps you know as we are aging, the jowls are dropping and I'm trying to defy gravity.
36:07Miranda Kerr:Are we all? Yeah. The new face is fun. And then I just tried that treatment radio frequency? Softwave. Oh, yes. What does that one do? I don't know. Yeah. But you liked it. I don't know. It's supposed to help with lifting, non-invasive. Yeah. Lifting and tightening, but it's not straight away. Right. It works deep to stimulate collagen. I don't know. I'm just trying all these things. I also, even in addition to the new face, I started seeing a guy who does like the microcurrent as well, like right before the mat ball. Oh yeah. And I was like, yeah, this is the beauty sandwich. Oh no. I love the beauty sandwich.
36:49Miranda Kerr:He does other things. Yes. He has other machines. Yeah. But here's the thing. You need to be aware of what you're doing. I was told specifically, like, say for instance, Since I just did the soft wave, I have to be careful to not like then go and do like new era, which is another type of machine that could make what I just done backfire and make my face drop even more. Right. And I didn't know that until someone said that it happened to them. Oh, really? You should wait at least two weeks after doing soft wave to do any other invasive treatments. That makes sense. But the microcurrent was fine.
37:22Miranda Kerr:So I went with that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So it's safe to say, because you obviously really prioritize like certified organic ingredients, very natural with your skincare routine. But yeah. I'm happy to try technology. You're good with that. What about just like cosmetic procedures like Botox? You know, you know, when you do microneedling, like Aqua Gold and they can put a little bit in there. I tried that. Okay. I felt like it was. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. You're good with it. I felt like, you know, maybe give it a glow. Yeah. Yeah. It kind of gives you that glass skin, that aqua gold treatment, right?
38:00Yes. Yeah.
38:00Miranda Kerr:A friend of mine was doing it and was like, try that. And I was like, okay, that was a while ago. Yeah. Yeah. So. Yeah. It's hard to say when you're doing all these things, like what is working? What moves the needle? Yeah. Is there one gadget at home that you just would not be without? I've heard you lie on light masks and all the things. Yeah, so the other ones I do is for general kind of energy. So I have this mat called a cell regulation mat. And basically I have it, there's different settings. There's like a nature setting. So it's like being outside, putting your feet in the grass, like similar.
38:36It helps with ATP production made by a guy from Norway.
38:41Miranda Kerr:And then it also has a sleep setting. And then it has an activation setting. So it can help give you energy on days like today when I haven't had enough sleep. Yeah. So those little things I really am leaning into right now. And I have the it's called a Weber laser mat, which is like a combination of red light and low level laser for the body. But I didn't realize I was wearing it with my pajamas on. Oh, you don't want to be cold. It's supposed to be like on your skin. Okay, right. So now I've got to like just change my program a little. Yeah, right. At least lift up and let it go on my tummy because I don't know if it was doing anything through those PJs.
39:23Miranda Kerr:Yeah. And you had one you wanted to ask Miranda about, right? I saw, okay, I need to ask you about this like VASPR system or something. Oh, yes. Tell me about that. I have not used that machine in a while and I need to get back on it. It seems so wild. Can you explain what it is? Okay, so it is a technology that I found out about when I was in Paris. It's called a VASPA. And it's like a device that is kind of like, goes like this. And then your feet go like this. Then it has compression on the arms. I need to get back into it. And compression on the legs. And then it has a cooling system that you sit on.
39:59Miranda Kerr:And then the cooling system makes these extremities like go really cold, really cold. So it brings a lot of blood flow. And then you're pushing yourself in a way that is like, I think it's a 20 minute workout. And it's really intense. Yeah. But then afterwards it produces like really good hormones. Like it helps balance your hormones. It helps get you into that hit, you know, the hit state. And then it can be, yeah, there was a stage when I was really into it. Okay. And I fell off the routine of it. Yeah. Yeah. And I need to get back into it. But it's also not a stationary bike. What was the other thing?
40:39Like an elliptical.
40:40Miranda Kerr:Kind of like an elliptical that you're sitting on. Right. OK. Sitting elliptical. And then you can there's different programs. So you can see like I'm going to go really fast here and then I'm going to slow recover. Yeah. I'm going to go really fast and then I'm going to slow recover. Right. And you're wearing compression. And you're wearing the compression and you get really exhausted. But then at the end you kind of feel this high. OK. Interesting. It's good. And you get like a cryo effect from it. Exactly. And I think they have like, they have places where you can go and do it. Yeah. Yeah. I just invested in one because I was really into it and I got so excited about it.
41:17Miranda Kerr:I also have a Carroll bike, which is a bike that does a similar thing, but without the compression. It's more like you follow the bike and you just like do the HIIT workouts. But they call it like, I think they call it re-HIT. Like it's not as intense. Okay. So if you want to do an eight minute workout, they say it's worth like, so that 20 minute workout, I think is worth like two hours of working out. Oh, wow. Whereas this eight minute workout might be worth an hour of working out. So it's for people who are time poor. Yes. So I'm so time poor right now that I don't even have time to go and do that, but I'm going to prioritize it.
41:52Miranda Kerr:Lately, I've just been prioritizing meditation and kids, meditation and kids. Fair. And carrying your kid up the stairs. Yeah. I think some people might be surprised to hear because as a model, you know, people would probably think you're, you know, you're grinding, you're focusing on, you know, all this physical activity, but yet you prioritize the meditation. I think that says a lot. The meditation, because your state of mind for me is so much more important than the physical. Yes. Because when you can feel connected to yourself and your spirit and connected to source like God, you feel, I feel more fulfilled than any kind of physical aspect of.
42:34Yeah.

46:11Now back to the show.
46:21Speaking about energy, have you tried a vibration plate? Yes, I have one. You can't? Does it do anything? I feel like all this stuff would be under my bed.
46:31Miranda Kerr:So I have a power plate, but I also bought a cheaper one that goes like that. Yeah. That does something very different than the power plate. And I'm trying to understand. I need to talk to someone about what it is because one's doing this and then the power plate is just like vibrating you. So I'm like, right. Which one should I be doing? Right. Well, I guess I think The other one's like a balance. Yeah, balance. Yeah, versus just like. And then my kids get on there. It looks kind of fun, the vibration plate. Like you're not sore afterwards, right? No, I kind of get on it when I brush my teeth.
47:02Miranda Kerr:Oh, really? Yeah, or if I'm like doing my makeup, but that can get a little. Yeah, I love that. Just to incorporate it into my already doing this. Very busy day. Very busy day. You do a lot of high tech stuff, I tell you. I love that. Are you into AI? We know who your husband is. Are you, what do you use it for? Do you embrace it? AI? Yeah. Yeah, I get in trouble from my husband because he's like, I hope ChatGPT didn't write that. Like if we're having an argument or something, he knows every time I put it into ChatGPT. Oh my gosh. That's relatable. I feel like a lot of people are nodding their heads right now.
47:40To be honest, I'm like, to be honest, if I really wanted to say what I really wanted to say, that would not be great. Yeah. It's softening it. It softens it. Yes.
47:49Miranda Kerr:Chat GPT like helps me express myself in a, you know, non-threatening way. Yes. But he can tell every single time. I'm like, what do you have a chat GPT radar? I like tried to tweak it so it actually sounds like me. You just got to get rid of the M dashes. Yeah, there's no dashes. Okay, good. And why do they have quotation marks over words that are common words? Yeah, no, I don't. I mean, I always get rid of the things and then I get rid of the truly. I'm like, why are you having truly every single time? Truly. I don't say truly. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. That is so good. That is so good. Too funny. Let's talk a little bit about makeup, right?
48:29We didn't get makeup. Makeup, yeah. Some of your makeup faves. Like, what are you loving? Well, I'm into blush. I've always been a blush girl. Yeah. I don't know why. I love blush, too. It's never gone out of style, in my opinion. Yeah. I think it's so flattering and pretty on everyone. Yeah. Just a little blush. I feel like it just adds a youthfulness. And then I'm very into like brows. Yeah, your brows are unbelievable. So good. So good. What do you use for those?
48:57Miranda Kerr:You know, at one point I was getting them tinted. And then I had them laminated. And then they looked a little scary. And then I had them, see, I tried the microblading. Yes. Yeah. Yes, it was okay for a minute. It was okay for a minute. But then it just kind of grew out. Yeah. So now I'm trying to just leave them, let them grow and just brush them up, you know. So like brows, blush every day, lip gloss. Yeah. And then I really love the eye products from Olme. Oh, yeah. So they have a brown, which I have on right now. It's like a brown liner. It's really pretty. It's softer than harsh black. Yeah.
49:36And especially for blue eyes, it might help. So I've been really getting into trying to do a cat eye. This is not really a cat eye, but it just gives a little lift. Yes. I'm like, let's lift the face to the stars. Yeah. Yes, anything to lift the face. It's all about the placement, which we learned from Erica Taylor, who was just on our show. I know you've recently collaborated with her. So she naturally was obsessed with our eye oil.
50:03Miranda Kerr:Oh. Our eye oil sold out everywhere for months because of her obsession with our eye oil. And she went on and she said, ladies, if you're over 30, you need to be using this eye oil so that you don't have the cakiness underneath your concealer. This is the one thing that she uses and swears by for underneath her eyes. It's the eye oil, the Noni Radiant Eye Oil. Yeah, it's in a little rollerball, everybody. It has a rose quartz rollerball. Yeah. It is amazing. It's obviously, it has like a natural, it has kai oil in there. It has coffee extract in there. and she's all about the eyes as you know yeah and she just genuinely loved the product so then like a year later we reached out to her like I reached out to her at the time saying like wow thank you that's so nice and she's like uh thank you because this is my lifesaver and I was like wow this is great let's get together and do something and then because of our busy schedules it took about a year and then we got together and had a blast she's hilarious she's so funny we love her on our show and she's wonderful she is really educating she's educating on you know know, because we all had a way of doing our makeup.
51:11And then when you are over 40, there's a different placement is different. The blush placement is higher. Like, yes, all these things. And she is like revolutionizing how women over 40 are doing their makeup. Yeah, I'm listening. And no, you know, and like no judgment. Absolutely. And she just adds some humor into it. Well, yeah, that's the key. I love that. That's the key because it's just not that serious. Yeah.
51:31Miranda Kerr:She's like, we're not saving any lives. We're just doing eyeliner. Exactly. Let's go. She says. Yeah. Let's go. It's almost summer. So tell us what are three things guaranteed to be in your summer travel bag? Definitely my sunscreen. For sure, the body oil. Yep. And big hat. Yes, big hat. Yeah. Yeah. Do you have any like fashion essentials? I should probably add a swimsuit in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's true. Yeah. Fashion essentials. I really love a sarong. What's the wrong with that? Yeah. I don't know if they're in style, out of style, but they are just so convenient. When you're at the beach and you can tie it this way, you can tie it this way, you can tie it that way.
52:14You can put it over your head if you want. You mentioned at the beginning about knowing that you look good in chocolate brown. Have you ever done that thing where you get your colors done? I have. Yes. With fashion. Yes, I have. And? And I wasn't sure about it, to be honest. You weren't sure about the outcome? The suggestions. Okay, I've heard this. Yes.
52:34Miranda Kerr:I was like, hmm, do I need to get it done again? Is this really me? I don't know. I'm still trying to figure out, you know. Yeah. Did you get it done recently? I did. So here's the thing I was confused about, like, as well with the color thing. It's like, with my face and with my eyes, am I better off with it? I used to have little blonde hair lights. and then a funny story happened a new person who was a colorist was you know I thought I'd try a new person and I was like okay I just want to I noticed like like two or three little grays popping up and I was like oh okay so maybe what they could do is come and put some little blonde highlights over that there was some confusion and at the time I was in the middle when he came over and And I was in the middle of a deep conversation with my six-year-old.
53:24Miranda Kerr:And he just started doing my hair. And my six-year-old was explaining to me about his day. And I was like really like in it. And then he just did his thing. And then there was no mirror. And then he left and I went upstairs. And I was like, what just happened? And my whole hair was dark. So he had thought that I meant like do a whole head of color. And I thought he was just doing some blonde hair. I'm doing some blonde streaks on top of the couple of gray. Yeah. So because I've not normally colored my whole head before. I've only ever in my whole life just added little blonde streaks. This is your natural hair color?
54:03Miranda Kerr:No, now it's not. Right. Once you're in, you're in. Yes. And now I'm like, oh, maybe is this good? I like it. Do we like it? I do like it. Do we like it better than the blonde bits in the front? I feel like this is. I'm trying to picture it now. What you have right now, I feel like, is the direction. Like, I feel this is the moment. This is kind of like the overall color. So it was meant to be. Yeah, exactly. All right. Well, before we let you go, this has been wonderful catching up. I love the girl talk. Yes. Some people might not know this about you, but you've written two books in the past.
54:37I have. And one of them was called Empower Yourself in 2013. The other one was called, I can't remember the other one. Treasure Yourself. Thank you. Do you have a third book on the horizon? It's funny that you say that.
54:52Miranda Kerr:There's a couple of books that are in there in my brain that want to come out. But one I'm actively working on is a children's book with my teenager, who's 15, who's an amazing artist. And so we kind of wrote the book together, and now he is working on the art. So that is my next book. I love that. And then I have like another book that I want to focus on. It's like more nutrition and like more like cookbook kind of. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because you like to cook. I do like to cook. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't cook as much at the present moment, but I do love to cook. Like that's something that I learned to cook with my grandma.
55:35Miranda Kerr:And yeah, I think I'm a very creative, tactile person. So cooking and eating and designing. So I designed, you know, teacups. I designed furniture. I designed jewelry. I love being creative. That's something that lights me up. And I think that it's so important for people to find what lights them up. Absolutely. And do it. Yes. And nothing stopping you, but you. I love it. Well, thank you so much for this conversation today. We'll have you back a third time in six more years. Well, when the book comes out, we want to see it. Yeah, you can have me and my son. Oh my gosh. I would love that. I can only imagine.
56:13That's so that's so sweet. And what an amazing like thing to do together. Yeah. Together. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks so much. Thanks for listening.
