0:08Welcome to Breaking Beauty, the podcast all about the breakthrough people, products and moments in beauty. We're your hosts, Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins.

0:21Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Breaking Beauty podcast. It's officially fall now. So we are in your feeds with a hashtag damn good episode that's all about fall must-haves. I am Jill Dunn, one of your co-hosts. I'm here with my friend and colleague for nine years, Carlene Higgins. Hello. Yes. So we are former beauty editors turned beauty podcasters in your feed every single Wednesday with the breakthrough people, products, and moments in beauty. And as Jill said, once a month we do our hashtag Damn Goods episodes where we review products of the month. And fall is always so exciting because there are so many launches.

1:03So in today's episode, we're going to be talking about some of the biggest, buzziest launches of the season. There are complexion launches galore, Hong Van Gogh, Jones Road Beauty, Lisa Eldridge. We're also going to be talking about some skincare, of course. We know so many of you tune in for our skincare reviews. And so with that, let's dive in, Carleen. All right. So I think we should start with complexion because honestly, you had said to me, you're like, I think maybe we just do a foundation or complexion episode, like another one. And we just did one in the spring. We'll link to it in our show notes, guys.

1:37But because there just have been so many. So I think we have to start there. What have you been trying? So I tried the now kind of infamous, I would say, Jones Road Beauty Wide Awake Brightening Concealer,$32 US and$46 in Canada. It is a little pot concealer. And some of you may remember when Bobbi Brown, name drop, was on our show about a year ago and she talked about how she was working on a new concealer. And many of you also may be familiar with the pencil that she had. She had the Concealing Face Stick. Yes, I do remember. I like that product. And a lot of makeup artists have recommended that.

2:18It's good for sketching on, just adding that coverage. It's like a chunky pencil versus the Lisa Eldridge Thin one. Yes, exactly. So this particular concealer is solving a different problem. A lot of people found that one drying. Yeah, I was going to say it's a bit matte. So this is really meant for, as the name indicates, wide awake. It's for underneath the eyes. They also have a line of neutralizers. so you can correct. Color correcting, yeah. And you can also conceal on top of that. I tried the corrector. That's not necessarily my big, as I say, bugaboo. My thing is about the bags and trying to like make those look a little less puffy and just bring a little more lightness or wide awakeness underneath the eye.

3:00So I love this formula. She ate with this. I think it's fantastic. And I have to tell everybody, I went to the Jones Road store to properly get shade matched. and I was telling you about my experience in there. And it was like, it was so joyous. Yeah. It was really fascinating. Like girl bonding time between the customers and the artists and you can get makeup lessons in there, everything there. I love that. I thought it was fantastic. Yeah. Well, when we talked to Bobbi last year, I think. Yeah, it was about a year ago. We will link to that episode in our show notes as well. But she was talking about retail and the power of retail, which is a really tough nut to crack.

3:43We know this. This is the land of DTC. And I think it's really, to me, Bobbi Brown's knowledge and experience and her hands on like, I want to help women. I'm not going to be intimidating. I'm not about that. I'm not a gatekeeper. This isn't about just like looking as cool as humanly possible. It's really more about women leaning in for women. And I feel like what you described, because Jill told me this story about like this woman who's like getting her makeup lesson. And then she's like, I'm going to go get my dress and then I'll come back so you can see the final look and everybody's clapping.

4:19Yeah. Like she came back in the store and everyone's like oohing and aahing over how she transformed. It was like a makeover, but she made the point to come back to the store to show her artists. And I was like, what is even happening? I love that. But it reminds me of like old school department store from like the way, way back in like the 80s. And I feel like that human connection, it's just so lovely. It makes sense for the demographic Bobby Brown is catering to. And, you know, it's unfortunate that she will have to change the name because that's going to cost a lot of money. So this has been a little dust up in the last few days, hasn't it?

5:02Little just in case you missed it, Molly Sims went on Instagram, took to TikTok and said she didn't name them, but she's like, there is a brand that I really love. I use a lot of their products and they came out with a product with the same name as my under eye product. She's like, we have five people in the marketing department. We work so hard. And this big brand came in and yada yada. and Bobby Brown responded with a notice on her Instagram saying this was not deliberate. This was accidental, which I fully, fully believe. And since then, as I understand it, Molly has taken down her post, Facebook, and again, Bobby did the right thing and said, my bad, my bad, but we will change the name.

5:49But that is a big whoops. Like that is a, that's going to be very costly. All the SEO she's missing out on all of that, but she's doing the right thing. Now, ultimate respect. I would argue they just both had the best marketing of their entire lives. No, honestly, they honest to God should collab. Yeah. Molly should be in the next Jones Road, Beauty Ad and vice versa. Or just like it would. This is the era we are living in. The thing that the impression I got from Bobby, when I saw this go down on social media, I was like, she's going to make it right. because when we interviewed her, she was discussing her memoir and there was no mudslinging in that book.

6:29That's just not her style. I got the, you know, she's going to take the high road and she's going to make stuff right. She's a classy lady. But you can still buy this product by the name that I've called it today. And these things take time. Yeah, exactly. And they worked it out. Yeah, exactly. Love to see it. Yeah.

6:53So Medicaid is one of our show partners this week. We all want to be on a retinol journey that we don't want to quit. And the reality is so many of us start and stop, start and stop, because you get in this vicious cycle of putting the retinol on and then you peel and you flake and you just are like, I can't even deal with this. But if you're like me and you're in the fall mode to sort of reset and get your skincare back on track, I want to invite you to try out the Medicaid Crystal Retinol. And you'll notice that I say retinol. That's R-E-T-I-N-A-L. And that's because Medicaid's Crystal Retinol, it's actually formulated using retinaldehyde, which works up to 11 times faster than standard retinol.

7:35So it is proven to smooth, stubborn wrinkles, decongest and firm your skin without any of that irritation that you might expect from traditional retinols. And I personally love the Crystal Retinol from Medicaid. I understand why it is so award winning, because what they have done is they have allowed you to ladder up to the retinol strength that you want. So you can start out with three and then they have all different versions that go up from there. So they're really thinking about the people that want to do this journey, but in baby steps. And I think that's the journey that will be the most consistent and you'll get those great results.

8:13I personally love with the retinol, the number three that I've used consistently. It's just the refinement of the texture of your skin that really starts to kind of show those bigger pores and the lines as you age. And Medicaid, they're clinically proven. A dermatologist loved British skincare brand, and they're really known for age-defying results without compromise. And by the way, everyone, Medicaid is now available both in-store and online at Sephora in the US and Canada. And even better news, if you want to try Medicaid's crystal retinol for yourself, we have a special promo code. Visit Medicaid.us and use code BREAKING20 for 20 % off your first order.

8:52That's M-E-D-I-K, the number 8.us. Once again, visit Medicaid.us and use code BREAKING20 for 20 % off your first order. That's M-E-D-I-K, the number 8.us. We'll link to this offer in our show notes and on our website. Now back to the show.

9:11Welcome to Who's in My Glam Chair, where the glam is good and the conversations are even better. I'm Alexis Oakley, a celebrity makeup artist. And after 10 years in the glam chair, I've learned that getting ready is when you talk about everything. Beauty, business, dating, confidence, careers, and probably the things you shouldn't be saying out loud. Nothing is off limits. New episodes drop every Wednesday. So grab your makeup bag, your coffee, and get ready with us. This is Who's in My Glam Chair.

9:47now while we've been in new york you also went over to the lisa eldridge yes pop-up shop which i know they've extended so i assume it's doing gangbusters yeah it's open now till early december yeah and it's really wonderful because there's no place to go in store typically in north america to see her products in person. So it's just like her whole archive come to life, magazine covers on the wall and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia everywhere and just like images that Lisa herself has worked on and crafted. And there's little vanity stations where you can get your makeup done. And she hand selected every single artist that's in there.

10:28So there is a threshold. Every single one of them is a professional artist. And I think I'm sure it was rigorous process to even work there. But I had to go make my way there to try her concealer, which is the luminous concealer. So again, this is something that I'm looking for underneath the eye. I want that luminosity. And I... We're going to get a comparison, apparently. How do you compare these? Well, the Bobbi Brown one certainly gives you more coverage. So this is really all about brightening under the eye. And the thing about Lisa is that she's all about these olive tones. She's really well known for that.

11:08And apparently a large majority of the population has olive undertones, but they're really left out. So she has very much zeroed in on that. But that being said, I don't have olive undertones and I found my shade, no problem. Okay. Yeah. That's interesting because I just didn't know that a large portion of the population has olive undertones and is being underserved. But that's great. How many shades? They said 30%. Oh, wow. Okay. That's significant. She's made content about that for years on her channel. So she's really walking the walk. And so how many shades and how much, by the way? 32 shades, 39 US dollars.

11:46And of course, it's all direct to consumer. So based on where you live, it will be adjusted the price where you're shipping it to. And she also has correctors, but only four shades. So it's like, you know, peach. It is like tackling each undertone that we need it. There's one that's like a little bit more of that orangey red. There's one that's peachier, pinker, you know, to cancel out what you want. I found that this is just so seamless underneath the eye and it kind of just like buffs. It literally brings luminosity to your under eye. It is the perfect light bulbs under the eyes. Exactly. And the artist was explaining to me yesterday about how when she heard that there was mica in here, she was like, oh, no.

12:33Right. Because I think a lot of us think of under eye brighteners like the old school Becca one, which I have had in my kit forever. And it gives you, I agree, too much luminosity under the eye. Leave it to Lisa. she nailed it beautiful coverage goes on flawlessly there's like this micro buffing brush that she's selling as well that is just so so good absolutely love it and it's like it's like a little candlelight for underneath your eye yeah okay great well I have a complexion product that I want to talk about I mean first of all I am just going to say that in my opinion the new Atelier Westman Foundation is beyond chef's kiss.

13:16Like best I've ever had. I bow down all of that. So we're not going to be covering it today. And that's because dun dun dun. You say it. We have the Gucci Westman herself who will be joining us on the mic and we're going to go in depth on that foundation. So we're just putting a pin in that for now. But when it comes to complexion. Went out of my comfort zone to try a powder, which I don't usually use powders on my skin because I'm not super oily, although I am feeling a bit of oil on my skin right now. But this is the Dior Forever Onset Powder Blurring Translucent Loose Setting Powder. How's that for a name?

13:57I know. And it comes in five shades. So I think even though it's translucent, it does have five shades, which I think is important to because we know that it can have like a little bit of a white cast. This one is$56 U.S. and$76 in Canada. And it is talc free. This is my bugaboo right now. It's like every single powder that I like is being reformulated and talc's taken out, which I don't like. Right. Including the Charlotte Tilbury. Yeah. Well, that's yeah. It's everybody has Shaco and Songu. That's what we say. So this some of you who are big Dior fans might be wondering why they've come out with a second matte powder because they actually already have like a lot of brands.

14:41They have a mattifying powder and then they have a radiant powder. And this is a third one or a second matte. So the reason for that is that this one is blurring and the other one is just mattifying with like a sheer to light coverage, whereas this one is meant to be invisible yet blurring. And that's why I really like this product and wanted to talk about it today because when I tried it and I put it on like this area of my cheeks, I could not by her nose. I could not believe the difference between the areas where I had applied it and not apply it when it came to the blurring. I was like, this is magic.

15:26Like it was just, it was like a before and after on my face. You know what I mean? You need to put that on Instagram. I'm just going to do a little touch up. I'm sure you won't be able to see from like that far of, you know, and I'm using the pad, which I will say mattified a little too much for my liking. So what I would do in the future is I have a fan brush and I think just doing that very light fan brush would be incredible because then it's just not applying too much. like you have more oily skin, so you might be fine with this. And it's meant to kind of like bake is the other main function, which I do appreciate.

16:06And I used it again in a different way this morning on my eyelids because I was using a bit of eyeliner and I just find eyeliner because I have greasy eyelids that transfer so much. So I used a smaller brush and applied it Just a little dusting and a little dusting over the liner and it worked brilliantly. So yeah, I would, there's different ways to use it, but I'm giving it the thumbs up.

16:39Today's episode is brought to you in part by Quince. Okay. So have you done your fall clothing turnover? I haven't done it yet, but I'm getting ready to. This is when I've got all of my my summer clothes. I'm going to backpack them, put them away, get out my sweaters. And that's when I like to clear out the stuff I don't think I'm going to wear. I take it to a consignment shop and I use my new monies to invest in new pieces that are going to be part of my like uniform dressing for the fall. And I'll tell you where I'm always guaranteed to be shopping these days. and that's quince because they really have that sweater that somehow works with everything.

17:21They've got great cable knits right now. I really want to get those in a couple of different shades. They have jeans, they have cashmere, organic cotton, washable silk, all of these like timeless and thoughtfully crafted items that you're just going to wear again and again. Like I'll give you an example. They're a hundred percent Mongolian cashmere sweaters start at just$50 and you're getting that softness. It looks like it's luxury. Nobody's going to know, but you don't have the luxury price tag. And they even have like leather bags. I have a suede computer bag that I love. I use it all the time.

17:57They have footwear, they have 14 Kegel jewelry now. So if you want to try it for yourself, you need to know that everything at Quince is priced 50 to 80 % less than similar brands. And that's because they work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman. So you're just paying for the quality and not for the brand markup. Now, if you are into finding fall pieces, you're going to reach for the most, check out Quince. Download the Quince app for app-exclusive offers or go to quince.com slash breakingbeauty. Get free shipping on your order and 365-day returns now available in Canada and the UK too.

18:36That's quince.com slash breakingbeauty. Cowboy colostrum is one of our show partners this week. I'm all about little habits that you can do every single day that add up to help you look and feel your best. And cowboy colostrum is just that. So colostrum, it's the first milk a cow produces after giving birth. So it's rich in amino globulins and growth factors, which are the bioactive compounds that support your immune system. So heading into cold and flu season, that's music to my ears. And cowboy colostrum is bovine colostrum, 100 % made in America from American grass fed cows. It's true first day whole colostrum, which means it's full fat, high in protein, no artificial flavors, no fillers.

19:22And it's only collected after the baby calves have had their fill. So no worries there. I love how easy it is to incorporate into my routine. I just put a scoop in my warm coffee. I use my little hand mixer thing to just blend it all together. It tastes really good. Does not tastes like a supplement. Right now, I like the cookies and cream flavor. And it's really great because they also ran a clinical study on it. So among participants, 83 % reported improved gut health, 72 % saw improved digestion, and 79 % said they had less bloating, and 62 % reported fuller, thicker looking hair. So great news for Breaking Beauty listeners.

20:03We have a special promo code For a limited time, our listeners get up to 25 % off their entire order. Just head to cowboycolostrum.com slash beauty and use code beauty at checkout. That's 25 % off when you use code beauty at cowboycolostrum.com slash beauty. We'll link to this offer in our show notes and on our website. Now back to the show.

20:31Like you mentioned, Carleen, I thought there was so much foundation news that we could have done a whole other episode. But one that I wanted to shout out for best of all, this launched actually in the summer. This is the Hung Van Gogh Red Carpet Skin Luminous Longwear Serum Foundation. And this is 46 US dollars and 66 in Canada. It comes in these frosted plastic tubes. So they're really great for travel. No spilling whatsoever. Absolutely love it. this is a serum foundation meant to feel weightless on the skin we know he's the king of red carpet glow there's no question he's still working with Anne Hathaway he's working with Selena Gomez all of these people and it's this radiant natural matte and there's a few things about this I have been using this ever since I got it but his whole positioning with the 36 shades is that you there's that every one of them has a neutral undertone okay this is why it's so confusing out there right now to find your shade to find your shade.

21:31So he designed that to make it very easy for people to find their shade. OK, but there are a lot of people were even more confused than ever. Oh, interesting. Yes. So if I'm reading between the lines, a lot of brands will have 50 shades, let's say, because they have there's a whole well, a third of them that are cool. Yeah. A third of them that are warm and then a third of them that are neutral approximately in terms of undertones. A lot of brands function that way. We've talked about that. Certainly like a MAC from back in the day or people who would have a lot of breadth of shades. So he's eliminated all of the undertones, making them all neutral, which would account for the fact that there's only what you said, 32 shades.

22:15There's 36 shades. 36 shades. New way of thinking about it. And I think it's kind of confused people. But regardless, once you find your shade, I'm shade seven, by the way, and I found that out because I watched Katie Jane Hughes's Instagram about it were shade twins. Oh, I see. So that's handy. Very handy. And this is a bit of a learning curve, but it is my new replacement for the Armani luminous silk that I used always. Okay. Well, that's saying a lot. Yeah. That was your ride or die before they reformulated. Exactly. And the thing is a lot, it's going to be a love it or a love it or hate it because you need to use so little.

22:52I'm talking about a pinprick. Okay. You shake it up, pinprick on your hand, then you dot that all over your face. And then he has this lovely brush that you blend it in with either with this or with your fingertips. Your skincare has to be juicy and you will get absolutely flawless application. Okay. Yeah. May I see it? I just want to see the fluid fluidity. Yes. Be careful. A lot comes out. So online, you've seen some criticisms. People said, I put this on. I look like a statue. Like it was almost too opaque, opaque. But all of that being said, when it's on your skin, it is it feels weightless.

23:34Yeah. Like a serum. Yeah. So the point is you're getting pigment. Yes. You're getting nano pigment. Yes. Kind of. I think this new wave. Yeah, exactly. in a serum base. So I think that it's a winner and I will keep using it. And Love Hung, he's the best. Well, I can't wait to try it. Yeah. Okay. Amazing. Now, in other makeup favorites, I actually have an eyeshadow to talk about for once because I haven't talked about eyeshadow in ages. Now, a lot of you know, I'm not a big eyeshadow girly in the way of like, I'm not a palette queen. You know what I mean? I like a very simple, minimalist eyeshadow.

24:15And so I often will go for sticks, which have their benefits and have their drawbacks. Right. So what I've found that I've been really loving is the Say Super Suede Baked Eyeshadow, which I have here. These are singles, everybody. And if you are not watching and you're just listening, what would you say this is the size of gel, like a silver dollar or something like that. Yeah. So they're singles. They're$24 each U.S. and$34 in Canada. So it is a bit pricey, I would say. It's six matte shades and five shimmers. Now, I'll be honest, I've only tried the matte. I don't love shimmer. Like I'm just not a big shimmer girl.

25:02And the first thing I noticed when I looked at the six matte shades is they're all various shades of brown. So it's almost like you took the Hung Van Gogh matte palette or the Makeup by Mario and just deconstructed it into these very 90s. Like she had Helena Christensen as they spoke in the campaign. Which I loved because again, she's not a 20 year old model. It's not that often that you'll see a Gen X person in an eyeshadow campaign. So I loved that. and it didn't look airbrushed to it within an inch of its life, in my opinion. So these, the other thing that got me about these is that they are baked eyeshadows.

Read the full transcript

25:44So it's meant to give you that, hence the name, a suede-like veil. And I actually really enjoyed that. I was surprised at how much I like this formula. In terms of the pigment, I would say it falls. I mentioned the Makeup by Mario, the matte palette and the Hung Van Gogh. We've talked about both. We're big fans of both. Makeup by Mario is not ultra pigmented. I think it's meant to be buildable. It's meant to be for everyday wear. Very easy. Hung is much more pigmented. You put it on and pal. But perfect palette selection of all these browns and there's warm and cool. I would put these say ones right in the middle.

26:25So it's like a really nice. I find if if eyeshadows are too pigmented and I'm not a pro, I put it on and it's like plonk. Oh, yeah. And then I start spreading it out. Oh, and I start making these rings around my eyes. So I like that there can be a bit of buildup. And I just found with these, it literally is that simple. I just grabbed like a fairly big fluffy brush, tap some off and then just did the windshield wiper, windshield wiper in the crease down to my lash line and just started moving up and up above my crease. And that's what I really liked is that it gives you the seamless line because it's not so pigmented.

27:06It's like it's very easy to use is what I'm saying. It's very easy to use. Perfect for lazy slash busy people like me. I'm a fan and they are talc free if that matters to you. Right. They're calling them Demi Matt. That's perfect. I think for that brand, especially. Yeah. Yeah. Great. It's baked, right? Yeah. So that's the whole thing with like anything made in an Italian lab often. It is that baked where it's like it has a curve on it, like on the shadow itself. Right. It's not. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. So I think there's some way that it all dries down that they like rare beauty has blushes like that.

27:44There's a lot of eyeshadows like that. Yeah. That use that baking. And I think it's like they literally put it on like a terracotta thing to dry, don't they? Or something like that. Yeah. It's like the technique in how they dry it down also factors into how it looks. Well, they call it a pressed powder formula. OK. Which I think is so interesting. And and the promise that they claim is that it doesn't crease and it doesn't go patchy. And I can attest to that. Great. I can attest to that. Well, that's surprising that a more clean, quote unquote, brand is going there. That's great with the performance.

28:18I'm a fan. I recommend, guys. Okay. The other thing I want to talk about, which is a bit of a hit at Sephora right now, this is the Feel. It's called Beauty Kissy Lips Comfy Hydrating Peptide Lip Mask Treatment. This is$22 in the U.S. and$32 in Canada. So this whole line launched in January of 2026, direct to Sephora. And there's a bunch of tinted versions where you can use it on your lips and your cheeks. They're called the Kissy Lips Hydrating High Shine Tinted Lip and Cheek Balm. And this is the clear one that is new this month. So the founder behind this brand is Jamie Holmes. And she is like a veteran in the beauty industry behind Too Faced, Better Than Sex Mascara, Ule Hendrickson, the banana line, which went bonkers.

29:11She talked about that when she was on our show. Yeah, she was on our show for Timeline. So she worked in skincare as well. And I guess after all of that, she decided to give it a go on her own line. So it's called Feel Beauty. It's F-E-L Beauty. And the whole concept... R-I-P vowels. Yeah, exactly. And the whole concept behind it is comfort beauty, which I kind of love because I think that we're at a time in a time where we do look for beauty for comfort. We do. And I love that she could see where people take comfort in beauty. Like to me, this is kind of like if the Laneige sleeping mask and the Eos, remember the little round one you got at the drugstore?

29:56If they got married, this is their love child. and it's lips. So the idea is that you're like kissing it on. Nobody can say they've never been kissed now. And it's a peptide lip treatment with hyaluronic acid. So we know that there's peptide lip balms a go-go. This is a different form of it. And the tinted ones I actually really like because they are very sheer, but they're not sticky at all. It is meant to be like a balm. the actual lips on it is kind of freaking me out. But, you know, I'm sure she's going to crush it because she's very successful. Again, if you think about the EOS member there, there was a time when everybody had it when you were younger.

30:36I feel like that's what this is. It's a new version of that. And I think that's smart. It's like evolving that which EOS never did. Right, right.

30:52Koyuchi is one of our show partners today. I'm all about cozy maxing this fall. All those little luxuries that make your home feel like it has had an upgrade. And Koyuchi, they are the original organic bedding brand that's been setting the standards since the early 90s. And Koyuchi only uses premium natural fibers, the rarest 100 % organic cotton or 100 % organic linen, natural materials that are made to deliver your best sleep ever and only get softer with time. And Koyuchi is everyday luxury you can feel good about bringing into your home, whether it's bedding or bath towels, crib sheets, spa robes, they kind of have everything.

31:32And honestly, I appreciate they even sell separates on their website, everybody. So if your team only fitted sheet and you don't want a flat sheet, Koyuchi allows you to get that top quality, but you only have to buy one piece. I just think that's absolutely genius. Plus they have flannel sheets on their website right now that I totally have my eye on. And I just, I just love all of the color curation on there too. Everything feels calm, feels serene. Like it's kind of making your bed feel like a sanctuary, which I absolutely love. So we have a very special promo just for Breaking Beauty listeners.

32:09You can visit koyuchi.com slash Breaking Beauty for 15 % off your first purchase of the most comfortable bedding you'll ever own. That's C-O-Y-U-C-H-I.com slash Breaking Beauty. And some exclusions apply. Once again, visit koyuchi.com slash Breaking Beauty for 15 % off your first purchase. We'll link to this offer in our show notes and on our website. Today's episode is brought to you in part by Tumble. So I live in a house from 1892. It's a Victorian. We've done a lot of renos on it, but I'll tell you what we didn't do, the kitchen. And I don't want to do a renovation on my kitchen, okay? I'm just putting lipstick on that pig.

32:49We have huge cracks in the tile, but I can't live through a reno. I just can't. So you know what the solution has been for us? A rug. Here's the challenge. In the kitchen, all the spills that I make, it hasn't been going that well. So this is where Tumble comes in because their rugs are completely spill proof and machine washable. Okay. So if it's a tiny spill, you can just wick it away with a cloth. And if it's a bigger spill, even if it's a large rug, which is what I have, it's fully machine washable. And it's really genius. Like Tumble is really known for how easy it is to wash their rugs and Tumble's cushioned and non-slip rug pad tucks into the hidden corner pockets on the underside of the rug so you don't have to fuss around with velcro it's a really secure setup and the rug doesn't slide around and all of the Tumble rugs they are safe for kids pets anyone spending time on the floor and my favorite part about Tumble rugs is they look great they look like a designer rug they don't look cheap in any way trust me I wouldn't be having that.

33:54I've got one in my cart. I'm ready to hit go. And they're perfect for whether it's a kitchen, an entryway, a hallway, a kid's room, machine washable rugs made better for a limited time only. Our listeners get 10 % off plus free shipping at tumbleliving.com slash beauty. That's T-U-M-B-L-E living.com forward slash beauty. 34:28I'm going to talk now about a cleanser because we're talking about so much makeup. There is so much makeup news this fall. This is a cleanser that has clinical data behind it that it takes off makeup in just one step. And this is the InBeauty Project Extreme Cleanse Milky Missler Barrier Repair Cleanser. $29 US dollars,$40 in Canada. And we know the girls from InBeauty, they come with the receipts. They do too much when it comes to, they are just formulators at heart and they know how to formulate a winning product. And then they know it's so good, they go out and they pay for the clinicals. So they literally have on their website, the before and the after under the UV camera of the cleanser, like your face with SPF on it and then one step with this and it shows like there's no more SPF left on your face.

35:24Yeah, that's amazing. Which I think is actually very unique in the market to promise the one step. I also think a milky... I mean, we've seen that promise, but we haven't necessarily seen, we've seen like self-evaluated or like people think that this is enough. Yeah. They're just taking it to that next level, to the extreme level, if you will. And the fact that it's a milky missler cleanser it has glycerin ceramides and squalene in there i was wearing so much makeup yesterday i ended up putting on my face twice basically and this literally did take it off in one cleanse which would never happen wow when normally i would always double cleanse i didn't have my oil cleanser here oh so i was like here we go see this is this is telling because i was trying a new k beauty brand to sephora right and i did a double cleanse and i I did the balm followed by a salicylic acid foaming cleanser.

36:17Yeah. And even after both cleanses, when I use the towel, my face, my face was on the towel. Oh, I went, I went right for the towel after. And I was like, this will be it. Okay. This is the test. It was fantastic. The fact that also it's, I think they've hit on something very unique in the milky missler vein. Neutrogena has one, which I have not tried, but they position it. they position that as a make it's in their makeup remover category. It's not in a cleanser category. So this being talked about as a cleanser, I do feel is quite unique. So I am a fan of a lot of in beauty projects. I love their their extreme cream as well.

36:56So that has been that's going to be on the top shelf. OK, that's in the vanity now that's in the it's in my shower. There's no going back. Love it. Oh, just one thing for you. There is fragrance in it. Just letting you know. OK. Okay. Yeah. All right. Consider yourself warned. All right. Well, my favorite skincare item of the season is the Astura Cica A-Cica 365 Soothing Redness Relief Face Serum PH 4.5. This one is$38 US and$52 in Canada. And I will say it launched in February in the US, but it's just launched in Canada mid-August. And the brand is going on Amazon.ca in Canada as well, which is new news.

37:41And this product is a wonder. If you have sensitive skin, sensitized skin particularly, or rosacea, I think it is a boon because so often, you know, we might overdo it on whether it's a retinol or AHAs, what have you, peels. And we're often like, what can I use on my face next? And a lot of germs will say like La Roche-Posay, Cica, you know, moisturize. It's a that's a moisturizer. And but sometimes it feels like moisturizers kind of feel counterintuitive. It's not what you want to be putting on skin that feels sensitized. So as a first step, this serum is wonderful. I need that for the winter.

38:29It feels like a liquid bandaid, I want to say, where you just put it on and it is it's cooling. They actually have those toner pads that we've you know, we've been seeing about super huge trend. Hey, beauty. And those are cooling as well. But I find the serum to be too. And and yeah, you just put it on and it's like it just feels it does. Like I honestly felt like when I had some stinging, I put it on and it relieved the stinging. So I'm a big fan of this product and it's the kind of thing that anyone can use. I would use this in place of a hyaluronic acid as well. I was like, why do you need a hyaluronic acid serum?

39:12Just use this one with Cica. That's going to also help calm the inflammation at the same time. Protect the barrier. Protect the barrier. All of the above. All of that stuff. I think that to me, this is the new hyaluronic acid serum. Well, La Roche-Posay must just simply be quaking in their boots with the arrival of Astura because they're launching a lot more products than I frankly thought they would. Yeah. Because I just thought it was going to be those core products. Right. And that's it. But no, they are really pushing forward with the innovation. And it's fantastic for sensitive skin types and the price point.

39:45It's a germ-backed line from Korea. It's K-Beauty. it's like if La Roche-Posay was Korean instead of French, it would be Astora. So all the derms get behind this. It's at Sephora now and it's a wonderful line. But this Zika one in particular is like amazing. Fantastic. Yeah. So the last product that I'm going to shout out is a hair product that is K-Beauty. So we talked about how K-Hair is coming. This is it, you guys. doctor for hair is the name of the brand. It is just launching. It just launched at Sephora. This is called the Folagen Thickening Shampoo with Folagen X. So this is for hair fullness and scalp nourishment for full looking hair.

40:31And it is this is a really like buzzy popular product in Korea. and it works guys. Like I just found that my hair looks so much thicker from the first wash. And I really think that it's because these ingredients like it has after water, of course, it's sodium C14, whatever sodium chlorides. It's like, it almost reminds me of like a sea salt spray in the form of a shampoo that gives you that really deep cleanse and that thickening. They have a but the ironic thing is, is that I thought the conditioner wasn't going to be conditioning because it's so which is what happens with a lot of volumizing shampoos.

41:14But actually, when you use the conditioner, it was like, oh, my gosh, it went so silky soft right away. Like all the tangles came out. And then when I blow dried it, it that also just washed out. So is the idea with this line, because I'm not that familiar with it, that it's more of a, not aesthetic line, but it's more about achieving voluminous hair or is it about thickening up your hair? It's like scalp care. So what they say is just in one use, it reduces scalp sebum by 92%. Okay. And it reduces scalp buildup by 77%. So it's like clarifying. Yeah, it's super clarifying. And it also has like caffeine and peptide in it and rosemary leaf oil and biotin and ceramides.

42:01So it really is like K-beauty skincare for your scalp. There's also a exfoliating scalp cleanser, which I really like as well. There's a nourishing mask. The reviews on this line is fantastic. So it's definitely one to watch. Yeah, it looks quite medicinal slash pharmaceutical. Yeah. I think the name is hilarious. Yeah. Folligen? What the fuck? I know. That's what I was thinking. Follicle and collagen combined. No, this is like, I was like, what am I hearing? I'm like, she's saying you're wrong. No. But it's kind of, it's kind of genius, I think, because it is, it reminds me of follicle. It reminds me of collagen.

42:41You get it. You're like, yeah, it's, it takes care of both. Now, Doctor for Hair, guys, is the sister brand to Unav. Am I saying that right? Yes. I think so. Which is already kind of a hit at Sephora. Yeah, I love the hair mask. It's meant to be like a K-beauty version of like a K-18. Is Dr. For Hair a real guy? So apparently, Dr. For Hair is the sister brand to Anav, as well as the hair transplant medical group, For Hair Korea. Yeah, it says it's trichologist developed. So that's pretty interesting. Yeah, exactly. So we don't know if it's a doctor for hair is for all the doctors that are under their umbrella.

43:26That are here for hair. That's what it's about. Perfect. Perfect. Well, we had so much more we could have talked about because there are so many hits this season. Absolutely. That's the reality. So that's why we're going to come to you with even more next month. Next month. And by the way, everyone, we do have a sub stack that we put out every single month and it's our favorites. It's a lot of stuff that we don't necessarily get a chance to talk about on the microphone. And so that's sort of where we're able to be a little bit more nimble and talk about things as they're sort of hitting your top shelves.

43:59And I also know that Amazon Prime big deal days are coming up and I want to put out a sub stack that's listing all those deals. So we're going to put those together for you in one place. A lot of new launches in there. Sign up for our sub stack, which I'm going a link in our show notes here below. And everything that we linked today, we're doing something new and we're linking them all in the show notes and also on our YouTube. So shop with us. We appreciate that.
