0:00Here on Fashion People, we're always exploring how creative industries really work, from the runway to the boardroom and everywhere in between. And when it comes to pop culture, there's nothing more fascinating than how something iconic actually gets made. Which is why I want to tell you about a new podcast I've been listening to. It's called How We Made Your Mother, and season two just dropped. It's hosted by Josh Radner, yes, Ted Mosby himself, and Craig Thomas, the co-creator of How I Met Your Mother. And while it may be about a sitcom, the story they're telling is so much bigger. It's about storytelling, cultural timing, and all the little decisions, including casting, tone, wardrobe, music, that added up to a show that still resonates today.

0:52So if you're someone who cares about how taste, strategy, and instinct come together to create something lasting, how we made your mother is for you. Follow and listen to How We Made Your Mother everywhere you get your podcasts. Now, here's a sneak peek from Josh and Craig. Hey, everyone. I'm Josh Radner, and I am so excited to tell you about How We Made Your Mother, a rewatch podcast looking back episode by episode at the hit TV show, How I Met Your Mother. I played Ted Mosby, The Eye, in How I Met Your Mother for all nine seasons. And I'm here with Craig Thomas, who co-created the show along with Carter Bays, Hi, Craig.

1:32Hey, Josh. Somehow it has been 20 years since the show premiered. I'm going to check the math on that. That seems wrong. Ten years since it went off the air. And we thought that made this a perfect time to look back, see what the hell we did, and why the show still seems to resonate with fans around the world today. And we are thrilled to announce that we have now joined the Office Ladies Network and are just beyond excited to be working with Jenna Fisher and Angela Kinsey. Well, thank you, Josh. We are thrilled to have you and Craig be part of the Office Ladies family. And something we love about How We Made Your Mother is the amazing community of this show.

2:09The fans and people that write in, we think you guys are awesome. And I love when Josh and Craig get philosophical. I mean, I love all the behind-the-scenes stories, but my favorite is when Josh suddenly starts quoting Einstein or some ancient philosopher. And then he and Craig basically break down the meaning of love or the power of friendship or forgiveness or you name it. In season one of our podcast, we had a great time looking back at the 22 episodes of Him-Yim season one. I was so into him being with Robin when he goes up in the suit. And it's really quite sexy for prime time just in terms of like the way they're looking at each other.

2:51Yeah. But the moment he says, I think I'm in love with you, I almost was like, what? Ashley Williams? Every time Josh and I had to kiss on the show, I was very careful to have, like, boundaries. Right? Like, every time we kissed, I would go like, mm. Like, I had, like, hard, the only way I can describe it possibly is, like, hard lips. Hard lips. One time, Josh was like, you kind of, like, are, like, pushing me away with your mouth every time we can. But I think what I was saying was, and it was very delicate what I was trying to do, which was to say... Yeah, how did you say this? I think what I was saying was like, you're kissing me weird, right?

3:30I think that's all I was saying. It was like, you're kissing me weird. And our very own Kobe Smulders. There are people who are our age who are like, I remember being in my 20s watching this show. And you're like, yeah, same, same. And it feels very relatable. And then I'll meet somebody who's like 15. I'm like, you were not alive. And now we are launching season two. And while it wouldn't be him, him, if we didn't keep a few secrets, we can tell you that we'll be talking with Joe Manganiello. People make me do that line to them a lot. B2W, which is also another a breed. And the amazing Bryan Cranston.

4:12Whether it's How I Met Your Mother, whether it's Breaking Bad. The question we always get asked is, did you know it was going to be a hit? No one ever knows. But what you do know and what I knew about How I Met Your Mother is that it was good. So check out our website, HowWeMadeYourMother.com, where you can send in voice messages and emails. We love hearing from the fans. It's a huge part of the show, some of which we play and read on almost every episode. My name is Brianna, and I'm from Naples, Florida. Hi, I'm Harrison. And I'm from the United Kingdom. I'm from Brazil. And I'm from Colombia.

4:44Hi, I'm Marika from the Netherlands. And I'm from Iowa. Rhode Island. Connecticut. I'm from Dallas, Texas. Portland, Oregon. I am from Bulgaria. India. I'm from Chile. And I'm from Estonia. This is Selma from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thank you all so much for the show. Thank you for doing this podcast. I love it. It has meant so much to me.
