04Hello and welcome to Fashion People. I'm Lauren Sherman, writer of Puck's fashion and beauty memo line sheet. And today with me on the show is stylist Jamie Mizrahi. We're talking Nepo babies on the red carpet, the business of celebrity styling, why famous couples dress the way they dress, 90s fashion, and so much more. Happy Tuesday, everyone. Hope you are winding down. In line sheet this week, I'm tying up a bunch of year-end ends. I'm monitoring the Saks global situation by the time you listen to this who knows what will happen I also named the villain of the year there were some more obvious candidates I'll admit it but I think you understand my reasoning and I hope everyone gets the joke on it like it's a bit of a joke but also kind of true so I hope you enjoy it otherwise I am going to actually take a break this weekend next which will be nice and I hope you get to as well we will be airing on a consistent basis though so i'll see you on friday let's get going with jamie

15jamie mizrahi welcome to fashion people hello thank you for having me thanks for being here i would ask you what you have for breakfast this morning but this is a um tuesday show not a friday so i don't you don't need to reveal it i could i just i've just had i don't do breakfast weirdly I don't really do you do breakfast it depends on what time I ate the night before if I ate at 5 30 I'm gonna probably have some breakfast if I ate at nine no and also I love breakfast food but I usually just eat it for lunch I'm an intermittent faster and then a late night snacker got it so it's like you're not doing it I'm not eating till like one I think that's fine that's like I feel I'm good about it.

01Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So next time you're on, we'll talk about lunch. But today - Is that what happens on Fridays? You ask about what people eat? Yes. I ask what you had for breakfast this morning as an icebreaker. Got it. Got it. It's interesting. It is. It says a lot about - Do most people have breakfast? A lot of people come prepped because they know I'm going to ask. Got it. So they talk. So and I think they a lot of people eat a lot of yogurt with granola. Swirling in granola into yogurt. There are there is the like egg crowd, which I am. I'm never eggs. So see, it's the perfect protein. I'm really into it.

47And then there are the people who eat like scraps from their kids food. There are a lot of intermittent fasters, as I am also one. And I think it's just the way to live. When do you start eating? What time? Just depends. But like if you when you intermittent, do you you just make sure there's there's like 12 hours between? I need at least 12 hours. And also a lot of times I eat at 10 or 11 and then I don't eat till dinner. Because I get hungry around 10 or 11 and then I will. so that is like I do usually a breakfast food then or a salad or something if it's like 11 30 and then I will not eat because if I eat it like if I go out for lunch which I do a lot obviously in LA if I eat at 12 or 1 when am I gonna have dinner I have dinner here at like 6 yeah like there's not so it's like it's too late to eat so it's that's but but also sometimes I do get up and I'm starving and I have breakfast.

50I used to have breakfast every single morning without fail. Well, they used to say that was like healthy and you're supposed to. And then I feel like you just end up, once you open the pipes of eating, I feel like it doesn't stop for me. So I'm like, it's like I'd rather not open it until midday. It's true. It's one of those things where every day I'd be like, oh, but I already ate so much. And now, and whereas if you, if you just eat when you're hungry, which is what you're supposed to do it life is a lot easier it's it's not always that simple don't you find when you don't eat for a long time you're well obviously you're less hungry i did a i had a parasite like two christmases ago where i had to do a four week milk cleanse and i only had raw milk for four weeks it was so oh my god jayby and when no it's like a thing Like you can like it's the only way to like naturally get rid of parasites because the medicine didn't work.

50It was like psychotic. And after four weeks, I was like, oh, I'm like not I could live off of raw milk for the rest of my life. I don't think I've ever had raw milk. Maybe this is a thing in 2026. Sounds delicious. Look it up. The raw milk cleanse. It's like a really wild world. Wow. I did not think that's where we were going. I thought we were going to talk about all the work you did last week. Because if nothing else, Jamie, you're a hard worker. You work your butt off. Thanks so much. All of you are like this. All the, like, super star, top stylists. Like, I don't understand how you all do what you do with you.

37I know you have support, but, like, never enough. it's it's a grueling grueling job that can be fruitful but it takes a lot of time and a lot of things that you do aren't fruitful you know I'm talking like money wise but um but like what did you I saw you posted like 15 things did you just start working with Maya Hawk I just started working with Maya Hawk who is so lovely and wonderful and I just think she's so rad and And I'm a big fan of Uma, of her mom's like 90s style. And I just think she's so talented and wonderful. And she's great. I saw you put her in Prada, which feels obviously Uma in Prada in 1996 or whatever in that lavender Prada.

26That was the start of or the shawl with that shawl that I have on every mood board that I've ever. Totally. That was the start of celebrity dressing. So is Maya, are you putting her, does she have a relationship with Prada? Maya has a Prada contract. She has a Prada contract, which makes sense. And they worked with us on the Stranger Things press tour. And I'm a big, I'm a big Prada fan. So with everyone and clients having contracts, it's really hard to be able to work with certain brands, with certain clients. So it's actually really nice to be able to work with them with her. When you start working with someone, how do you how do you develop the strategy?

12Do you like hang out with them and make a mood board? And or obviously, as you said, some of this is dictated by whether or not they have a money job. But what are you are you all like, what's your vision? How do you how do you? Well, yeah. Yeah, I think it's sometimes I think at first it's a conversation. But without even talking to the person, I think in my mind, I've like before I take a meeting with someone, I've like made a mood board on Pinterest. It's like when I go see a house, I will literally make a mood board of like how I would decorate the house to decide if like just just for fun.

48It's actually just doing work that I don't need to be doing. It's not even work. It's just like creatively fulfilling for me to do that. so before I take a meeting I normally kind of like come up with a template in my mind of of what I think their vibe should be and make a mood board and Pinterest and then after we meet I share it with them and I'm like what do you like what do you not like let me know and then I think it just stems from from there and what how what do you kind of measure as a successful partnership communication um more than anything i think um i think it's honesty and what you feel good in more than anything i want everyone to really enjoy what they're wearing and feel comfortable and confident and i'm never going to push someone to wear something even if i think it's the right call i'm like i will be honest about it and i'll say i don't like that i do like that but if If someone's like, this is what I want to do, I'm never going to push back.

54Because ultimately, it's their decision. And I feel like you can tell when someone's on a red carpet or when they're doing something if they feel good in what they're wearing. And sometimes we won't agree and then we'll come up with something that we both agree on. What other looks have you been really proud of as of late? Because you have such a varied roster of people. I know you've been doing a lot with Mia Goth, but also like Pedro Pascal and Jeremy Allen White. And you just have like a very varied. And there is something about all of them that if if it's like a Jamie person, I kind of I'm always like, oh, yeah, I get that.

37but it's usually someone who's like pretty insidery hollywood or someone who just like needs realness in their life and and i think you provide realness to these people um but but what what have you been working on that you're like very excited about i also enjoyed your pap photo with jeremy allen that ran on the daily mail or something that up i forgot to screenshot it and send it to you. I was like, I got sent it. I was like, yes. I've been off Instagram for about like four, four or five weeks, which is so nice. Great. And I've had it screenshotted and sent to me many a times. It's hilarious.

23What am I excited about? I've really enjoyed working with Mia Goff. I'm a big fan of hers. I think she's a really talented actress. I loved Frankenstein aesthetically, Visually, I think Kate Hawley is just a brilliant genius. And I am like, I want to work for her. I just like, I think she's going to win an Oscar. And I think what she did in that film is so fantastic. I agree. I really love taking on projects and working with people when they're promoting something. And coming up with a vision for it and seeing it from start to finish in press tour form, kind of overall. I mean, with Pedro, when we started working together, it was like Fantastic Four.

07And we were like, okay, let's go for this kind of 80s. Like, we had a very specific vibe of what we were going for. And it was very, we communicated it and it was back and forth images and visuals. And it's just really fun to, whether it's a longstanding relationship or even just a short stint of a project, I have a really good time being thrown into something and getting really creative with people. So I think for me, it's more communication and being able to bounce ideas back and forth. Yeah, that makes sense. with Pedro I feel like you put him in Celine and Michael Ryder Celine pretty quickly right pretty I'm a Michael I'm a I love Michael Ryder I think he's just the best so when you get excited about a collection like if if there's not already a relationship with between the designer and the brand are you do you want to like get in early and grab that stuff I feel like you were the earliest to dress someone in Celine?

15I met Mike. Well, Michael worked for Nicola Gascier back in the day. And then I met Michael when he was at Ralph Lauren. And we kind of just hit it off. And then we saw each other in Martha's Vineyard. And then when he got the job, I was just so excited for him and his aesthetic, I think, and just vibe in the whole industry. He's very cool and kind of does his own thing. And his clothes are very wearable, in my opinion. And I feel like when we just, I just thought him and Pedro would like each other in the same way him and Pedro and Heider get along. You know, I think it's really nice to wear clothes of designers that you have the same ethos and same kind of moral compass even.

07I think there's something cool about Haider. I feel like supports and dresses people that he relates to and like champions. so for Michael him and Pedro just to me have the same kind of energy and vibe and coolness and ease and with that outfit Pedro put it on and was like yeah this is great and it was like a very and for the was it the Emmys that he wore that white custom for I have no idea whatever it was it was the only thing we tried and made and it's pretty nice to have that relationship where you're like let's do this together and we're not going to shop around we're just going to work on this together and make sure it works yeah you mentioned that you have uma that picture of uma on your mood board and that maya like kind of thinking about her in that context and i feel like there are a lot of second generation kids coming up like nepo baby types who are wearing a lot of their mom's clothes.

14So like there was Kaya Gerber. Yes. Apple this past week wore the Gwyneth Paltrow dress. That's definitely not my spirit Gwyneth, even though I wish that it was. And then also obviously. What do you mean? In what sense? Like the dress? Do you know about do you know about spirit Gwyneth? So this is something my friend Marissa Meltzer. You have to be on Instagram. I'll screenshot some things my friend marissa melter who's a writer now at vanity fair who's you know out and about she has this thing where she posts people's spirit gwyneth so you because there's so many images of gwyneth mine is gwyneth's high school photo probably like every once in a while something like spence her like spence photo okay yes yeah her hair i'm just like this is who i want to be.

03But you kind of you have to pick the Gwyneth that you feel like you're connected to the most. Do I know mine? Yes, of course. What is it? Oh, it's like Brad Pitt era, like leather jacket, front row, denim, smoking cigarettes. It's like that. I know it. You know. Yes, I know it. So everyone has one or or a couple. And also mine. The other one is for me is when I think to the Golden Globe, she wore like a black sweater set and a gunmetal gray skirt that was Calvin Klein. And I copied that for for like Homecoming or something. That is my other one. It's like all very innocent. Yeah, totally. But like a lot of people post the black halter dress.

50But what do you think about that? Like, why do you think that this is happening? Do you think it has to do? Because I know you're a big vintage collector. Do you think it's it obviously is a fun, a fun thing to do. And I also know Gwyneth Paltrow as an incredible, she saved a lot of stuff compared to other, and it's like in her house, right? It's not like. She has saved everything. She has promised me a day to go through it, which is something I'm very much looking forward to. Gotta do it. Why do I think people are re-wearing like their parents' clothes or vintage clothes? Yeah. Yeah, like what do you think's happening in the culture that this is a thing that's bubbling up.

31I mean, obviously it's a fun, it's a little stunt, but also it says more. Yeah. I weirdly think the vintage thing started when all these designers were moving and you couldn't get dresses and no one was at a house. And we were like, I had it last year with Mikey Madison when I was like, oh, you just don't have gowns. So we have to be vintage. Like it was kind of just the only option. I also just think everyone's so online and you're seeing what everyone is wearing everywhere to there's so many more carpets now there's so many more events there's only so many gowns that each collection has and shows and so many people that each brand can dress and I just feel like there's just so many things people are going to that I think it's fun to kind of tell this story and and and especially for kids who look up to their parents who remember.

28I think it's like an opportunity to storytell and for there to be different press around something. I think I really appreciate what Gwyneth has done with her Marty's Supreme Press tour. I saw the movie last week and I didn't understand the Pink Calvin until I saw the movie. And I was like, okay, now this makes sense. Like there were certain, there have been certain nods that once you see the movie, you're like, oh, I fully respect what you're doing. And I don't, I don't think people are as obvious with press tours in the, in the sense of like Margot Robbie with Barbie. I think it's nice to have a nod, which is why for me, it's so important to see the movie.

11and then kind of before I worked with me, I was like, I just want to, I need to see some visuals. What are the, what are the, what's the color palette? It's jewel tones. What is like the overall, there's feathers, there's teal, there's deep blues. And how do we kind of just like have a through line so it makes sense with your character? And I think Gwyneth has done an impeccable job at that in this press tour. Yeah, yeah. Shout out to Queen Elizabeth Saltzman because it has been killer. And I think the thing that's been amazing to me, I haven't seen the movie yet. We will go see it this weekend, hopefully.

48But thank you to the people who tried to get me to go to a screening and they did invite me to that Ben Affleck screening and I didn't know. But if I knew Ben Affleck was there, I would have left my child to go to the screening. But I was like, I should stay home. It's so fun. I can't wait to see it. I mean, I love her playing like a wealthy new, like it's just exactly perfect. It's, it's all I want to watch. I'm, I'm so excited to see it, but I think the two looks for me that really stood out were the two Valentino looks like the dress she wore the night Apple wore her dress is gorgeous. And then that suit she wore on Good Morning America, I was like, damn, she looked, she looks amazing and it also it didn't feel it felt real and i don't she just i mean she she just looks awesome and it's been really fun she also hasn't done the the way she has aged yes which i think is something to look at in hollywood aspire to i as yeah it's like the way she's aging is is i'm into it it's it's too good she's doing yeah

58What's up? It's Draymond Green. I'm back for my 14th NBA season and my podcast, The Draymond Green Show, is back too. This season, I'm breaking down games, reacting to the biggest NBA stories, and sitting down with teammates, rivals, and culture shapers. And trust me, I'm not holding back. On the court or on the mic. Two new episodes every week. New segments, big conversations, real basketball talk for the real hoophers. Listen to and follow The Draymond Green Show wherever you get your podcasts. We're back. We're better. Let's get it.

31Okay, so let's talk about off-duty style for a minute. And in particular, Miss Zoe Kravitz and Harry Styles. Okay. I don't know if you know about my Taylor Swift, Travis Kelsey obsession with their outfits. like I kind of do I feel like we have we have gone back and forth at some point about yeah I'm just really interested in why she wears the clothes she wears and their outfits to get as a couple obviously I don't I called Travis Jason on a podcast recently obviously I don't don't follow football and didn't know who he was before he started dating her I do follow it enough to be really good at my fantasy football league this year shout out to my colleague Dylan Byers fantasy football league yes and and we did very badly last year because i it's fun like you know the teams like are you like are you like basically i had to learn because we failed miserably last year because i was not engaged at all so now my strat i don't want to give away my strategy but my strategy is if i think it's not going well i do a little bit of work on it i ask a couple people and then I just say to Dylan, we need to fix it.

49I get doing like a Bachelor fantasy thing where you're like, who's going to win The Bachelor? But football, this feels off-brand, but I'm happy for you to have a community. I know even less about The Bachelor. I don't watch any reality TV. I don't either, but I wish I cared about it. I wish I cared, I just don't. I do feel like I missed out on a part of culture the last 15 years, but I just like, yes. I watched The Real World. It was great. And Road Rules. You did? I never watched any of it. If I have like a night off, I would rather watch like a 90s like. Yeah, same. Like I'll just watch something old.

28I watched The Real World and Road Rules a lot. And the funny thing is one of them, this guy Kyle Brandt, is now a podcaster on The Ringer. And he does. I watched. I listened to The Rewatchables. Do you know about this podcast? It's like a Bill Simmons podcast where they rewatch movies. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. It's a great podcast. And I, like, sometimes listen to it when I'm falling asleep on the weekends. It's like my treat instead of fresh air. And this guy is on it. It puts you to bed. Yes. And I'm like, did I go to college with this guy? Why do I know this guy? He was on The Real World.

05Like, anyone on The Real World, I'm always like, did I go to college with him? Why do I know this person so well? Like what happened with this person? You're like, did I meet this person on vacation? Yes. Yeah, I have that sometimes. But anyway, I feel like Zoe and Harry have become my like anti-Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey because their outfits are so perfect every single time they go out. And they're perfect together. Yes. And they're obviously enjoying shopping together. Which is the best. What do you think? So what I think about them is they are separately, and I know them both, they're innately cool.

44So like them looking cool together is not a surprise to me. True. Do you think that this is part of the reason they like each other? I understand liking someone who has good taste and who is interested in the same things as you and who has, like, I get it. Like I feed off of my clients. I feed off of my friends. I have friends who I do not have the same taste as. And that's just not a version of our like that's not part of our love language. But I do think, yes, I think being in a relationship with someone who has a similar aesthetic or who like cares about the same things is probably really fun.

25yeah yeah i like them together it's just fun they like walking around it's it's just interesting how much of the off-duty style how performative that's become well it feels performative because we're seeing it but i also think that them not on the street also they look cool when they're home true you know what I'm saying like it doesn't feel like they're like in the mirror no like should you put this on should I put this on like they are both very cool they are beautiful they have good taste in everything whether it be like interiors and film and music and like they're just cool people so I think when you put them together it's like whoa okay you look really cool together And this almost feels performative.

19But I really don't get the vibe that it is at all. Yeah, I don't think they're dressing up for us in any way. No. We just get to... We just like it. Yeah. Yeah, we just get to enjoy it. Best of luck to them. It would be fun if they got married because the wedding would be amazing. But, you know, not going to pressure them. They have beautiful kids. Beautiful kids. Final topic of the day, Jamie, since it's the holidays. I am on I'm on Instagram way too much like I need to get off I'm on it a lot this this started it's been the last five years because it started when I was when I was after I had my kid and I was like I'd be on it in the middle of the night you know that type of thing and but now I also use it for work a lot like I DM people constantly all day and so you need it for work which is can Can I give you a trick?

16Tell me. Take it off your phone, put it on your iPad or your laptop. I know. I'm about to do a once a day on my iPad just to like give me, because I am missing out on like things and seeing things. And I'll have people like screenshot me things or text me things that I can't open because I don't have it. And I'm like. Got it. It is good for work. So I think having it on your phone, it's like you're you're you just like pick up your phone and you look at it and it's and it's very dangerous. There is something really nice about not looking at it so much. Yes. Creatively, it makes you kind of like clear your brain a bit.

57Yes. And maybe I will do this over the holidays. The issue for me, I actually never had it on my desktop and now I do. And it's gotten worse because I'm I'm looking at it during the day now all the time, whereas before it was like every few hours. now I'm on it because and I'm like because I am I am this is the thing and your job I'm sure your job but my job is literally to be available for people to like I bought a team I bought an Emily yes that's true actually different kind of availability you yes like we have a I don't I don't I am not total I'm half in this you're in the service industry I'm half in the service industry, half not, but I have to be.

39How are you in the service industry? It's not really, but the way I serve, I serve my readership. But that's on your time. That's on your time. You can serve them when you want to serve them. I'm not in the service industry. I could never get a job as a waitress. I'm going to argue you are not in the service industry. I'm not. But what I will say is that like looking and just like checking in to see if someone DM'd me is of my benefit because it's like and also like last night I sent something to someone in Europe and I needed their answer immediately to make sure that what I was writing today that they were cool with it and if I I can't not look and also we only DM so or we go on what's you know what I mean like that kind of thing so it's totally it's um but but the point being that like but just stop scrolling stop scrolling is all i'm saying well this is one of the things that fucks with your brain yes okay so this is one of the things that has happened to me so first of all i follow 7 500 people

45it's so funny maybe it's time to edit too like maybe i filter i have i have tried i have the limit. Like every once in a while I tried to follow Ruby Rosa, that store in Paris. I couldn't because I, I followed somebody. So I had to look and, and it's so hard to unfollow people. My husband is constantly DMing me being like, you can unfollow this restaurant in Iowa that you follow. I just like, so this is the other issue. But the point being that like, when I do scroll, I get a lot of suggested for you. And I'm like, why are you giving me suggested for you? Do you ever get offended by your suggestion?

23Of course. Because sometimes I want to see this. Yes. And sometimes it listened to my conversation that I had and is like saying stuff that I'm like, I don't want you to know about that. Like motivational quotes or whatever that are coming through. But the one thing that I get a lot of a tons of before sunrise and before sunset, like forever, just like every quotes from this movie, pictures from these movies. Julie Delpy is like constant. The other constant is Carolyn Bessette. That has died down a little because I just stopped engaging with these photos. It's about to rev up again. Just wait.

00Yes. Yeah. About to rev up again. The one that is really crazy recently, though, is Eyes Wide Shut. And this happens every Christmas. And I think also like 90s Nicole Kidman photos are pretty, pretty big right now. But a lot of Nicole Kidman from Eyes Wide Shut. and it I mean obviously great movie one of the best Christmas movies ever but I wanted to talk to you because I just felt like you probably really love the fashion in that movie like we don't need to get into the the actual themes of the movie but the fashion in the movie is amazing and I was just curious like do you reference it a lot what and you did a little rewatch last night to prep I I what how do you feel about what that I like any excuse to tell my husband he has to put the kids to sleep because i have to i have to watch a stanley kubrick 90s movie to do for work he's like you've seen that movie i'm like i don't remember i just i gotta re-watch it um yeah i love it who does like who does not love that movie first of all her even just her like hair her body the opening scene with that galliano dress and i don't know if you know you know loren scott advised on on the costumes and it was merritt allen who did um mrs doubtfire too which is not like a fashion movie but it's definitely like her book she also did broke back mountain um oh wow to me is it which to me is a fashion movie just because i like i agree love cowboys but yeah everything i mean nicole kidman also she had a big Galeano phase.

41So that was her personal dress in the opening. That like slip dress that she wore. Oh my god. Which is incredible. And they just like pulled it out of her closet apparently. It's so perfect. She doesn't wear it for very long but it's so perfect as is that laced long sleeve with the curls and her little curls in the front and the updo and her little ear. It's just everything about it is perfect. He also looks phenomenal in the movie. He really does. This was like, I think, his peak of attractiveness. Those wire frames she wears makes you be like, do I need little wire sunglasses? I just had to get glasses.

24Maybe I should have gotten this shape. That feels like you watched a movie and then you got a little two to the character. her her robe i mean she also wears this camel i feel like this camel yeah with the black turtleneck is very you it is it's also very carolyn beset and it's just very 90s in general which i think is having a moment yeah the nicole kidd mangaliana relationship someone should do like an essay on that. Well, she also, was it that, was it that, I think she wore it to the Oscars that year or something like that. And remember that, remember that Galeano, the chartreuse with the, that is, that goes down as like, I would say my favorite.

18That and Cate Blanchett in the black dress with the gold jewelry. Do you know what I'm talking about? Oh, no. Oh, it's the most beautiful. I would. That Nicole Kidman dress goes down is probably one of my favorites of all time. Are you into her current dressing? I don't really think about it a lot, to be honest. I like her. I'm into her. I think, oh, I mean, she works with Jason Bolden. I think I like her Balenciaga weirdness. Like, she's a little weird, and she embraces that. And I like that about her. Well, I think we always we always talk about this. It's like there are people and Zoe is one of these people that are fashion girls in general.

01And then there's people who are not and then get styled by people and then they become fashion girls. But it's like definitely not like an innate thing. No. And like when it is a fashion girl, like Zoe's a fashion girl. I'll give Nicole that she's just because of the history of the history and like her experiences.

30The interesting thing to me is that the ones that had the natural style in the 90s, a lot of them, I mean, as they've grown older, have become a little more polished or I don't even polish isn't the right word. A little more calculated about how they dress, I think. and I'm looking at this cape lanche at the gotier it's so she looks her back looks amazing I also love her she also wore that I think this is Galliano Dior it's like a purple um I'm I I'm looking it up right now to see who it was it's not I think I believe it's like a a purple slip dress thing but um yeah I think like to me the perfect example of someone who you can tell really has personal style is Kirsten Dunst because she's been through a lot of different stylists.

24She has a very particular body. She has large boobs. So like that changes the way dresses fit. And this is a thing getting to know a lot of you in recent years, just like how hard it is to get the fit right, because these people are thin and beautiful. But like if you're not built like a hanger, getting fit right on a person, a human being is really challenging. And that's like such a big part of your job, I feel like. But I think it is interesting to see there were people who had such what seemed like such natural style in the 90s. And maybe that's also because when you're younger, a lot of people care about the way they dress when they're younger and then they stop caring so much.

09Well, I think you've also done it, right? So like my style is so fucking kooky right now. I don't even, I cannot put on a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt because I'm like, I'm gonna walk into a room and someone else is gonna have that on. So I'm gonna throw on something so bizarre that I at least feel like my own person. Yes, yeah. And that is, I think, a big part of this whole vintage thing where I don't want any new clothes because I want to look, I want it to look special. And so, and it's so hard for everything to be special. And going back to this movie, like. Well, you also want people to be surprised, right?

49Like you don't want, it's not like, okay, I saw that Valentino dress walk the runway a few months ago and now she's wearing it on the carpet. I think there's something exciting about the surprise of Apple wearing her mom's dress. And then that being like, oh my God. And then there's like a bit of storytelling that's not just like, OK, that person got paid to wear that dress from a red carpet. And now that style has put it on them. And then. I have one final question for you about the business of celebrity styling. Do you think that the big because the really big brands obviously have like a team that works on red carpet and they do a lot of custom because they can afford to.

33But I think even the bigger brands, like I'll hear stuff, we're at the end of, like you were saying, the end of the year for dresses. We don't have anything left. Do you think that the brands are going to have to invest more and make those teams bigger? Because I just think the only thing that really works for these companies now is red carpet in terms of marketing. like it just has become this sort of final thing where they really are like alex bolin with the new oscar de la renta ceo did the new york times covered their dominican republic show and he has basically obviously this is a smaller company it's like i think 130 million dollars a year in annual revenue but they mostly sell fancy dresses and what his strategy has been And if we're going to do a show, it's really only for clients.

23And then on the other part of it, we are going to dress Taylor Swift and a few celebrities and make like they don't have a budget, but they've made that because he just sees a much bigger ROI on that than like pretty much anything else. And I find it fascinating. Do you think that those sort of operations are going to have to get bigger? Do you see them growing in the next few years? Well, I think there's like a real heightened intersection of what the roles of branding agents, stylists, publicists do as it relates to brand strategy for artists in general, you know? So I think that's like that's something that is constantly evolving and changing.

03And yeah, I think as brands are bringing on more ambassadors and faces of, they are going to need to have the bandwidth to make, especially if me is going to all the, you know what I mean? And if you're doing a press run, Jeremy with Louis Vuitton, if he's going to every award show, they need to have the bandwidth to make him a tux or a look for every single thing. Same with Mia with Dior, if she's contractually obligated to wear Dior to the Globes and the Sags and all those things. And then I think there's certain moments where brands are like, okay, like we, we were okay to not dress her for this one because it's just, we want to put our energy into the biggest one because there's just so many carpets now that it's really hard to fulfill that when you also have 15 other people that are wearing Dior.

06it's really wild it's a fun time for you to have be in this position and just see how it's all because it's really like people who don't play in it so like Adele is really fun because you're kind of like and before Mikey got with Dior that was really fun because you're like okay we're gonna we're gonna work with every single designer and and see what happens here and I don't think Adele will ever go with anyone. So it's just fun to constantly be able to work. She doesn't, she doesn't need to. And that's why she's amazing. My son is a very big fan of water under the bridge. We've been listening to it a lot over the break.

47Jamie, final question. What are you wearing on New Year's Eve? Can you give us a sneak peek? On New Year's Eve, I'm going to be in Sun Valley, Idaho with my family for my sister-in-law's 50th birthday and I'll probably be in sweatpants. What about you? That sounds really fun. You know, I'm psyched. I feel like there's a lot of stuff in the new year that I will get dressed for. Yes. Yes. First weekend back, you're going to have tons of stuff. I think that's Globes weekend, right? Yeah. What are you wearing and where will you be? Well, usually we do try to go out to dinner or something. Last year I went out.

22I went to the Dresden with my two best girlfriends from my 20s. And then we went to a dance party. Sick. It was like old people. It was like it was really fun. And there was karaoke, but I didn't do that. But anyway, usually we go out to dinner or something. I don't know. We're doing like a kid's New Year's party. And we haven't like contracted our typical babysitter. I think we may just stay at home. I don't know. I'm just very like I don't like I want to go to a big party like in When Harry Met Sally in a ballroom and dress up. I need someone to do that. You, someone in your inner circle. Yes, Jamie.

05You need to get someone in your inner circle to do it and invite me. Me and Riley a year ago had like a big dream of doing a huge New Year's party at Graceland. We were like, we're just going to do it. And it's going to be so, everyone is going to come to Memphis. And we're going to like just get dressed up and cut to, we're both on the couch with our like kids and family. I think you need to do it one year because I just like this is my this is my dream. I just want to go to a big party and wear like a really pretty dress dance. Yes. Yeah. And and like do dance like it just and the night before I'm going to let's see if I survive.

46But I'm going to a 530 dinner at Moza on December 30th, 530 dinner at Moza. and then I'm going to a double header at the new Beverly going to see tell me Harry met Sally and when Harry met Sally and then sleepless in Seattle and I bought the tickets before the Rob Reiner thing happened RIP that shit is depressing let's not talk about it but um no I bought the tickets before but I'm just gonna be insane it's gonna be crazy yeah yeah I'm I'm really excited I don't know if we'll survive. Like I'll be able to stay up for sleepless. Of course you will. Yeah. But I'm excited. We're going to like, my girlfriend and I are going to kind of dress up and it'll be fun.

27But on New Year's Eve, I think we're just going to chill out. You know what I'm going to watch tonight? Inspired by you. When I met Sally, because I. Do it. It's so good. It's so good. It's the best. Jamie, thank you for being here. Happy holidays. This was so fun. You look great, by the way. You look great. I love seeing you. I love chatting with you. I'll see you in a couple of weeks. I'm sure. Send me some screenshots of things on Instagram that I'm missing. Okay. I will. Don't worry.
