0:01Morning, morning, or welcome. Yes, I have grown a tash, I have got a nose ring and I am covered in tattoos. I am your barista for the day. Welcome to Espresso short, snappy, espresso short podcast episodes. I've literally downloaded all the wisdom from all the founders and all the brands like Guder, Tills, Coconut Collaborative, Candy Kittens, Little Moons, Planet Organic and I've distilled it into this micro, short, snappy wisdom to give you a mahoosive edge on the day to kickstart your day. So look, without further ado, let's get cracking and enjoy this espresso shot. How do you ensure on the franchise level that there's almost a positive paranoia about how the products are displayed and how people talk about cook etc etc when you're not there i think it's very difficult to run a food business or a business where it's targeted in two different directions you either have a business that's targeted for mass distribution via the supermarkets and that can work really well but trying to blend that with having your own shops and your own concessions your own routes to market i think that's very difficult because you're then having to be lots of different types of business you're either one thing or another and i think that's in terms of choosing where you're going to sell your product you've just got to be pretty clear what your what your preferred route to market is quick one guys espressos have got a brand new sponsor unleashed unleashes inventory management software that talks directly to your finance and econ software we use unleashed daily islands i bloody love it we've got our admin time in half saving approximately 30k a year why use it save money save headaches save stress get granular clarity on your margins no way your stock is don't miss availability look your favorite brands literally use unleashed as their backbone candy kittens tiny rebel trick always religiously look there's a link in the show notes please feel free to book a call with josh and his wonderful sales team at unleashed they're amazing even nothing comes of it and even better news you'll get your first month free if you reference hungry thank you to answer the that question how do you um monitor the standards like you say in our own shops it's pretty easy it's our own teams and stuff like that in concessions it's it's the key to us has always been we will only supply in our own freezers our own chest freezers so owning and controlling that point of sale bit means that we know how, you know, we've always had a thing of we will never sell our product merchandise next to the Haagen-Dazs and the frozen peas.

2:43You know, that's just not going to happen. If the Cook brand is going to trade from somebody else's space, then it has to be in our own point of sale materials. And there is no compromises on that. So we've had to, you know, we've said no to some pretty good offers from retailers where they wanted to put us in upright freezers or whatever it might be. And it's just, no, we've got a really clear red line. If stuff is going in, it goes into our own freezers. So at least then we know the product is merchandised in a way that we feel comfortable with. So, yeah, so we're quite controlling like that.

3:23thank you so so much for listening it honestly means the world to me i hope you enjoyed your morning coffee and go and have an amazing day let's be having ya if you want the fun episode it will be in the show notes a link will be in the show notes the full episode thank you so much please stay friends as well means the world to me
