In short

Luanna and Imo chat about ongoing house renovations (including conservation-area constraints), life admin and recommendations, then read listener stories and discuss current news: scrapping jury trials for many offences and a Kate Winslet “nepo babies” controversy.

Guests/backgrounds

No named guests. Main hosts are Luanna and Imo. Mentions include Abby (remote interior designer, Ginger Nest Interiors), plus a listener “Victoria” and an anonymous listener.

Key claims

  • Renovations: windows must be replaced “like for like” (single-pane wood) due to conservation rules; modern efficiency is frustratingly blocked.
  • Kitchen: Imo chose Gaggenau for extra-wide 76cm ovens and deep warming drawers, but faces a five-month wait after past appliance failures.
  • Self-worth: advice to an anonymous woman emphasizes self-love over chasing a man; cosmetic tweaks are framed as optional if done for confidence, not validation.
  • Justice: jury trials scrapped for likely sentences under three years to reduce delays; hosts debate whether magistrates are elitist vs properly trained and representative.

Notable examples

  • Pilot Anthony and wife Susie (and twins Rosie/Poppy) listened during a hospital period; Luanna recounts meeting them.
  • Listener Victoria’s horse “Octopussy” bucked her, causing a severe wedgie/friction burn.
  • Anonymous listener’s child took photos on a school camera, including an accidental shower photo of the parent.
  • “Cheese baby” and “Official Remy the Kid” are recommended Instagram rabbit holes.

0:38Anna Williamson:Did the scratcher come to your house and hand you a check? No. How many scratchers did you hit to get that? I hit a button on Carvana.com once. Okay, that's fair. It's like the lottery, except you always win. Not like the lottery at all, actually. Exactly. Inexplicably good. Offers worth bragging about. Sell your car today on Carvana. Pickup fees may apply. This is a Global Player original podcast. Be warned, it's Luanna. And this podcast contains honest upfront opinions, rants, rants, general explicit content. But you know you love it. Good morning to you all. It is a Monday. Morrow. Good morrow, my beautiful bitches.

1:22Anna Williamson:How are we? I'm good. I'm good. It's Luanna land. We are back. Buzzing. Of course, hello, everybody. buzzing our bloody tits off on the 12th of January. Buzzing for it. This is the middle of Jan already, by the way. Flying. Flying. We're going to be in 2027 next week. Yeah, it's Christmas already. Christmas is like a mere memory. We're now like basically planning this Christmas. But you know what? Joke's being good. There's probably already Easter eggs in shops. Oh, I think there are. There were Easter eggs on Christmas Day. Not even joking. Stop it. Yes, not even joking. But that ruins all the fun.

1:59Anna Williamson:I know. There's no build up. They need to stop with this. They need to just stop bringing it in too early. Too keen. And here's what funny is. It's Luanna and Imo, obviously, as always, bringing you the Luanna love for another episode. But yeah, how long ago does Christmas feel? It literally does feel about half a year ago. That's been and gone to me. It's dead to me now. Just done so much shit between now and Christmas, then and Christmas. Just, you know, living our best life. She's like just done so much shit. Can't think of anything, but yeah. Not a house reno shit. No, honestly, we are house reno, like absolutely most of it now.

2:34Anna Williamson:When are you going to be in the house? Well, if you speak to Ben from HowHow, who's our furniture maker man, we love him. He is the realist. We are the fantasists. Now, I think realistically, we are looking at April, but that's cool. That would have been a year to year. and considering the absolute i mean it honestly would have been six month project well we never nailed ourselves to six months we wanted to get the we always knew going into the project we were going to be uncovering loads because we have literally taken everything back to to square one with everything there is not a thing on the house the property that has not been touched so everything we've we've gone and uncovered obviously because it's listed as well and it's in a conservation area.

3:24Anna Williamson:We've had to double check things. You know, we've had to make sure we're doing things right when we're kind of replacing timbers. But you know what? But it's not bad. We've got bathrooms arrived this week. Did they let you change the windows? Did they let you change the windows? We've replaced them like for like. So we had to do that all through consent. So you haven't got, you couldn't get double glazing and stuff? No. You had to have wood? Yes. Yes. We had a fantastic company though. Just a shout out to Essex Timbers. not an ad not a spot. Still gonna be cold though isn't it? Well they have been.

3:56Anna Williamson:So you have to have single pane wood. Yeah in the back of the house on the yeah yeah that's right yeah we went through kind of all the various bits and bobs with it. What was the point in doing oh because you've ripped the whole back off. Yeah also they were rotten they needed doing but that is annoying because like we know that there's so many more like efficient ways to do things now. It makes no sense Lou. It makes no sense. It blows my mind. you've got to move with the fucking times and it's not eco-friendly we're all like old shit it's not eco-friendly it's not eco-friendly we're not but you're not like you'll still be sympathetic to the house of course and you can still be sympathetic and use like more modern solutions which also now look the same as well because of the way that things are now constructed and made and like and you all know girls it ain't bloody cheap you know we ain't getting something out of a catalogue do you know what I mean these are really you know you know you pay for what you get but I know it makes no sense Lee we went through down the whole thing it's like it just makes no sense but um but they were exciting had the bathroom arrive this week which is exciting so we're we're getting there Alex and I woke up on New Year's Day and we both just went we love our we love our rental it's been the chapelle has been doing a beautiful yeah we can't wait to get home now we're like we want to be in our house we just want to be in our house now so we are we're chomping pedal to the metal girls I'm renovating here too go on go on what are we doing?

5:19I've ripped out a back kitchen, my new pantry has already gone in which is really cool actually, they did it in six weeks from design to fit out literally, design to fit out was six weeks so next to be done is my laundry room, so that's going to be done next week and then I'm doing the kitchen after that, but guess what has delayed my kitchen Don't tell me Gaggenau. Yes, yes, it's Gaggenau. Yes, it's Gaggenau.

5:51Anna Williamson:Yes, girls. Gaggenau. Another year. Another country. And Gaggenau is yet again providing to be the cock blockers. Now, you might ask why. Why have I used Gaggenau again? When last year alone, we saw the fridge be repaired twice, the microwave set on fire, the one oven broke, and a warming drawer also broke. So what, oh, I'm the coffee machine, by the way. So why have I gone down the Gaggenau route again in this kitchen design? Yeah, go on. Because Gaggenau are the only brand that do these. And I know that Imo's going to get loads of messages now. Like they're not the only ones that do 76 centimetre wide ovens.

6:36They're like the extra wide ovens. They're not a standard size oven. And I love them. I love cooking. I'm always cooking for hundreds of people. so I need these wide ovens and if any other brand had have done these 76 centimeter ovens I would have been there but they didn't and I've got two of them going in also Gaggenau do extra deep warming drawers which are amazing because normal warming drawers and at the minute there's me laying this kitchen they're like it's like shallow you can't fit anything in it like what it's just stupid whereas because I think people normally use warming drawers like warm plates and cups and stuff.

7:13Anna Williamson:That's what I use it for, yeah. Yeah, whereas I use it to keep food warm when I'm cooking. Which is probably what it's for. Yeah, so, and then, yeah, so I've gone for Gag and I Gain, but it's a five-month wait. Five months. Anyway, so I did order them. I ordered them last year. I ordered it in November. So they have been, so it should be here by March. Well, we need to do comparisons. Oh, and I'm renovating bedrooms. I've got joinery going in. I'm actually doing quite a lot. The whole garden I'm renovating too, by the way. Just the whole thing. It's a whole new house project. Basically, I'm renovating the already renovated, perfect to live in and move into house.

7:56Anna Williamson:But you want to make it your own. I do. I want to make it my own. Indy's having a jelly cat bedroom. Nice. Imo, do you want to join in the Renault projects over here? I mean, there's many a bit of advice we can offer now. I mean I can't because I don't own the property but I can do it in spirit. Well I can't even afford our property anymore because obviously everything fucking costs more money than it ever cost before. Can we take a bet though that I this will be now this is my third house so when Anna first started talking about her renovation. You don't even need to bet you will be done. I was living in my old house and that house I renovated twice.

8:40Once since Anna. So that was like one house renovation. I then bought like Champneys 2 and renovated that, which was a huge project. You did. Giant. Like renovating a hotel. Anna, now I'm in house number three and I've already renovated perfectly one room in here. And I bet that I will have renovated this house before Anna has moved into her reno that has been ongoing for eight years.

9:14Anna Williamson:2020, actually. 2020. 2020. I'm going to raise your bet, Lou. I'm going to bet that you're living back in England, having done a five-year stint before I'm back in my house. No, we're going to be doing it. I also, do you know what? Again, I just, you know, this is the year of also just celebrating people who are fucking good and are helping me in my life. A girl called Abby, right, at Ginger Nest Interiors. I am going to plug her business. She's like this remote, she does it all over the world, remote interior designer. We needed her like we needed air. And she has come in to save our lives. She's saving our marriage, literally one decision at a time, when she's like you, she's like you, both of you girls in one and she's just sorting shit out.

10:00Anna Williamson:She's making decisions on things we need and she's designing this house like an absolute beaut. So I just want to say thanks to Abby because she's also a working mom. She was doing a business before, decided to do her own thing and now she's flying. So Abby, you're a ledge. Well, also, sorry, can I just shout out? When I was flying to the Maldives, right, I was asleep, like I slept for loads of the flight and then I wake up and like mum and Natalie were winding me up and they're like oh the pilot really likes you he's been out to see you and I was like that's a bit weird I was like no he hasn't shut up you to your stupid and they were like no genuinely he has anyway I was I slept for like eight hour eight hours of the 10 hour flight and then I was up to go to the loo and the pilot came over to me and it's in our chat Imo can't remember his name actually if you can go back oh you did say that because it's quite a few weeks ago yeah He came up to me and he was like, Louisa, hi.

10:57I want to say that his name's Anthony. And I think his daughter's from memory called Rosie. And I want to say Poppy, but I think I'm wrong. I can't remember his wife's name. This is a good punt, Luke.

11:10Anna Williamson:Let me know. His name is Anthony. Yes! Well done! And Susie. It's his wife called Sally. Susie. That's it. And they have twins called Rosie. Rosie yes and Poppy oh my god do you know what I never remember anything you don't and you did he was the nicest guy and he was like one of their twins Rosie was really really poorly and they were in and out of hospital in and out of hospital and they listened to our pod Susie and Anthony like every day on the way to hospital and he was like I just want to let you know like that you actually basically like propped us up and we were able to laugh through like really sad time he was such a nice guy so virgin pilot anthony and his and his wife susie that who obviously wasn't there but um and their little twins and their twins are thriving now they're both out of hospital little rosie is much much better and also susie's just bought a horse so she's getting her life back she's like out of the horrible scary stage that they've been through and i just wanted to say hello lovely anthony and i'm sending so much love to you and Susie and it was so nice to meet you and I love meeting people I know that I do have resting bitch face and people come up to me less than they go up to Anna but it's really nice when people do come up and say hello it really is and and it's it's amazing to like we just record this and then when like you meet someone like that and they're actually like no you don't understand like how much you did for us it's so wild it's very humbling so nice yeah and on and people always I don't know about you as well they always apologize it was when we went to center parks during Christmas I'm so sorry to come up and say you know with your family and I'm like honestly it's so kind that you're coming up to say hello and actually I said it's actually really lovely for the children I think to you know because I teach them social skills and also teach them what I do for a job do you know what I mean and I'm like it's all from a place of such kindness and love so thank you everybody other than when I grabbed the man's bollocks I don't think he was particularly pleased about that well hello to your virgin pilot yeah he was a nice Lovely man.

13:19Lovely gentleman.

13:20Anna Williamson:While we're doing shout outs. Yeah, I was going to say it because you got one. I've got a shout out to Lou Fanion called Polly. Hi Polly. So basically, if you remember a while ago, I moved house and I had a shit time doing it. Yes, you did. Basically, stuff is happening. And I had a call out on Instagram for a lawyer type person to help you. Oh, I saw you post that. Oh, I didn't see this. multiple lufanians reach out thank you thank you thank you especially polly who is a commercial litigator and now i'll just say now and she is a self-proclaimed law fanion and i'm in love with her basically um so me and they're getting divorced and i'm getting with polly and no uh and she's uh she's just helping us out and i just want to say thank you very much and i love you oh well done this and and thank you to everyone else who reached out and stuff um and i just think like this community it's amazing honestly it it really is so warming and just we love you guys so much you're just so fucking lovely so warm and fuzzy it's like warming post orgasm who says halloween only lasts one day with wayfair one night of halloween becomes a whole season at home.

18:00Anna Williamson:It didn't take long to catch up. I'm carrying on where you left off. No, it's only because we're only having one at a time. They're just helping us out with like pickups and stuff like that. But they're not both available. So we've got two who are absolutely lovely. But that would be very useful, as you say, a week ahead to see who's doing what, who needs to be doing what, who needs to be doing the school prep. Can I just say, so we obviously have Skylight in there. Now, I've just gone on my favorite website, Amazon. and I the one that I bought says purchased in August is£290. Oh it's spenny. It's spenny.

18:34There was I think the price of it's gone up there was actually quite a good Black Friday deal on that however so that's for a 15 inch one Skylight also do a maxi one which is 27 inch which is 550 quid that's expensive however there is basically one that looks exactly the same for£188. same same brand and it looks it looks i wonder if anyone at skylight would like to give us a

19:01Anna Williamson:discount code for our lufanians we don't normally do it doesn't say now this one doesn't say skylight but it's obviously the um like an like audi version but and it looks exactly the same and it's 100 it's 100 pounds cheaper for a 15 inch one's 188 for a 10 inch one it's 96 pounds I don't need a small one. Yeah, can you send me the link, please, Babs? And you can put my grocery list on it. You do need the 15-inch. I'll send you the link. Well, I need this because we all need to have joined up thinking. It goes to an app on your phone. Right, girls, this Reposeco is life-changing, not just for Alufanians, but for me.

19:40Anna Williamson:I love this. It has made my lovely written-on family calendar that I bought a week before Naomi got the skylight redundant, which is annoying. but but it's game changing right I'm getting it if you wouldn't mind sending me that Lou I'm going to buy it today I'm sending it now do you want the cheap one or the Skylight one if you send me both and I'll have a little a little read through that would be super thank you darling yeah have a read actually have a compare that's very interesting they do look quite identical well I think this is perfect because then as I say my new girls who are going to be helping her family out for a few months can jump on too so thank you girlies thank you for the reco shall I do mine?

20:21Anna Williamson:It sounds like it's a double reco actually from both of you unless Lou's got an extra one. No, no I'm happy to chip into that reco. I can't think of anything better at the minute so thanks. So it's a double reco for that one. Love that. Well and it's worked because I'm now going to buy one so this item is doing what we wanted to do. They are actually really good. I'm quite interested to see if the cheaper one is. I'll be honest Lou, you know me I'll probably get the cheaper one so I will get that one and let you know how effective it looks the same read up on it let me know I'm gonna literally buy it after you finish recording today because I want to get that set up and give everyone a little profile and Alex will love it because he likes organization um my little record second it's just a very quick one just a little one um this is someone to follow actually on the on the gram of insta if you just want a little bit of a laugh it's really in like innocent and gorgeous and cute so I've discovered this over Christmas and New Year when I was just sitting on the bog having a doom scroll and it's have you heard of the cheese baby no have you not heard of cheese baby okay so cheese baby went into my so what the actual account is verity and sons so at verity v-e-r-i-t-y and a-n-d sons s-u-n-s okay and it started with if you see that in the most oh i have you seen cheese baby it's this little boy right her little boy you need to go for the video that's been watched the most oh there you go it's this one hang on it's like don't take cheese to my baby this kid cheese hang on i gotta take it now okay hang on i'm showing to you now what one is it how do i know what's this kid loves cheese more than you've ever seen and and then she even took him to the supermarket but this i've just seen that one with the shopping trolley yeah oh you got cheese basically if you just go down this very pointless but wholesome rabbit hole of cheese baby she has the cutest little ginger ninja the kid loves cheese more than life itself and it's bloody gorgeous so cheese baby is my recosecum of the week cheese baby it's just wholesome he's just so adorable You know what else is wholesome while we're on Insta, people to follow.

He goes, right, you cheeky little lot. Yeah. I'm having a cheeky little Nando's.

23:30Yeah, he's so cute. Yeah. And then he did this whole, he was doing these videos. I haven't watched it for a while. My algorithm has changed being in Dubai. So has mine.

23:40Anna Williamson:No, but mine recently has as well. People I used to watch all the time have been kicked off and then I've suddenly seen them again and I'm like, where did you go? Where did you go out of my life? You sort of then remember people, don't you? Yes. I'm not really seeing anything British now. It's weird. Well, probably, yeah, because you're on different albums. Yeah, it's a bit annoying. But Remy the Kid is brilliant as well. And you know what? We're not massive fans on kids on Instagram, as you know, but these ones are really impulsive and gorgeous and lovely. So those are our echoes there. good one I like that we're like we don't agree with you with children but yours are yours are cute yeah right should we go into messages girlies yes let's do it right we've got a message now from Victoria she says hey girls long time listener first time messenger I found you via the staying relevant pod and now listen religiously while mucking out my horses you make a literal shit job infinitely more bearable I love mucking out of course the story I bring you involves horses humiliation and my arsehole standard joy so i was out riding my mare who unfortunately has the mortifying show name octopussy that's the worst name for a horse and yes we genuinely call her pussy for short well pussy decided she was auditioning for a full-blown rodeo and launched me into orbit before kindly standing on me for good measure while my friend watched on in silent horror.

25:01I eventually scraped myself off the floor, clutching what was left of my dignity, muttering, ow, my vagina, like some wounded Victorian heroine. Then it took me 10 minutes to catch pussy, a sentence I never thought I'd type, during which my mum yelled over asking if I was okay. And I shouted, no, my bum really hurts. I carried on though, like everything was absolutely fine. Proper horse girl energy. Oh, here you go. I even got back on and finished the ride because delusional horse girl energy simply refuses to die it's so true it's so true we never stop horse girls fast forward to when i got home still in agony only to discover the real villain of the story the most violent wedgie known to mankind my thong had been catapulted so far up my arse during pussy's bucking fit that it caused a genuine friction burn next to my butthole i bled from a wedgie caused by a horse called Pussy.

25:58Please tell me this qualifies as a you-couldn't-write-it moment and that at least one listener has suffered a more tragic thong-related injury than me. Love you both. Don't keep me in on. My horse's shit name makes it obvious anyway. Victoria. Can I just say, I too have suffered friction burns. You have. On my arse from riding. Yes, bad. I've seen them. Multiple times. Yeah, really bad. And I haven't been able to sit down properly. have you made your bum hole bleed? we suffer for our sport well it's been like

27:07Evening, buyer's remorse.

I really want to love and accept myself for who I am. Okay, good. I became really close to my neighbor.

27:47Anna Williamson:It was all a little bit out of the blue, to be honest. But we started spending time together. and one thing led to another and we started sleeping together too. He's honestly a beautiful specimen of a man and I never for a second thought he would be interested in me but I convinced myself to be confident and I went with this new exciting whirlwind thinking, well, maybe I'm not as bad as I think I am after all. Oh, all right, Normie. That's not my puppy. No. That's not my puppy. That's not my puppy. However, it became apparent. His tail is too fluffy. Yeah. However, it became apparent that he was seeing, oh wow, someone else as me.

28:23Anna Williamson:And eventually he completely ghosted me. This was two months ago now, and he's still been seeing this other girl, and we haven't spoken or seen each other since. Initially, I was so hurt as I felt like I could trust him. I opened up and I was vulnerable with him. And I felt like there was a mutual respect. I was there for him when he needed. I felt like a complete twat for allowing myself to be open to something and for being confident I might stand a chance. It's all obviously right in front of my face too, being that we're neighbors which hasn't helped the girl in question is totally beautiful she has filler botox to a point of perfection there isn't a single flaw she looks just like all the women you see on social media the models the wags the reality stars I'm the complete opposite of this I'm totally imperfect so much so I hate people taking pictures of me and it's made me feel as though whilst I may have a lot to offer in terms of who I am on the inside I'm not worth it to him because of the way I look on the outside this is really sad honey I know this may sound empathetic to some no it doesn't to some but it has really not my confidence and made me hate the way I look to the point I look in the mirror and note my all of my imperfections and think about how I can fix them I'm even considering Botox and filler myself to change the way that I look I think that because this sort of thing happens to me so often there's always someone else I'm never the one that they choose I'm never that girl I'm starting to wonder whether my appearance plays a big role in that I really just want to be loved to have someone to share life with I have two beautiful boys and I feel selfish for even wanting that when I know their love for me is unconditional but I think it's a different kind of love isn't it?

29:49Anna Williamson:I'm also embarrassed at myself. I should have stuck to my initial reaction of you're not good enough for him. Now I'm quite literally avoiding this man at every opportunity as we live next door to each other. I feel as though if he ever saw me he would recoil at the thought of us being together knowing what he has now and makes me want to hide away forever. I'm unsure if these feelings are normal. If anyone's experienced this themselves or how to accept to move on from it or what I can do to make myself more attractive to others. Thank you for listening. Honey, you need a bit of self-love. Like this is not about him.

30:19Anna Williamson:This is about you. Like basically this is it. It's about you, not him. This is really sad actually because it's sad that you've let someone like affect you so much but I get how that can affect you. And I don't think, you know what? Like it might, you're thinking it's all about looks. It might not be. He might just feel like, more connection with this person. So don't just think, oh, it's because she's more attractive than you because people will look at you and they'll think like half the people will look at you and think, oh, you're more attractive than her. And half people look at her and think she's more attractive than you because everybody, everybody thinks that different things are attractive.

30:58So I don't think you should think it's all about that. And he's gone for her because she's better looking or whatever. But look, I get not feeling good about yourself. You know, that's why um why I lost weight like in the last couple of years because I'd rather like change the way I look to feel better about myself I personally don't think there's anything wrong if you really don't like something I don't think there's anything wrong with with doing things that make you feel better about yourself whether that's going to the gym losing weight having a bit better I have Botox I've had filler um and it makes me feel better about myself so I I'm kind of all for doing stuff to boost your confidence and you might get people saying you're perfect the way you are and learn to love yourself and go to a running club and take up bloody crocheting to make you feel better about yourself if you have issues that you don't like about yourself we live in a day and age now where a is easy to to do little tweakments I mean look I wouldn't go full on and go I hate my nose I wouldn't have a nose job for instance um only because I'm too scared actually but if I I knew that I was going to be fine and like be more attractive.

32:05I probably would. But I just think that like if you are hyper focusing on the frown line in the middle of your eyebrows, go and have Botox and feel better about yourself. It's a quick, easy fix. And I do think that it works. And I may be like people will be like, oh, you know, but this is deeper. And, you know, I get that you want to be loved to share. It is deeper, but I think when you feel good about yourself, it's then easier to start loving yourself when you do change slightly the things that you don't like. And maybe that's not the best advice.

32:37Anna Williamson:No, I think it's so personal, isn't it? Why do any of us do anything to ourselves? It's because to feel better, to change something that we're not happy with. But I think for this young lady as well, absolutely. And that is an option there. I think the tone of the message for me that I'm hearing is that the lack of self-esteem she has is making her measure herself against other people. And I think there's always a worry, particularly in this day and age as well, is thinking that other people are, you know, more beautiful than me, you know, more desirable than me. And exactly to your point there, Lou, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

33:17Anna Williamson:And, you know, this has to come from you. And I think my worry is, is that I think if you did get anything done, I think you're just putting a sticking plaster at the moment over some bigger issues that perhaps you do need to fix. And I think I would start really with that self-esteem of really where is this lack of confidence coming from? Sure, you can do whatever you want in your life to change your physical appearance if that is what you really want to do. I think my advice would be, but do it for the right reasons. not because you're trying to chase a man, not because you think that that's what you should do or having Botox and filler and changing your appearance is in some way better in inverted commas, because it's not better.

34:03Anna Williamson:It's just different. And it's so subjective and it's so personal. I like to look good too. I like to do bits and pieces, you know, and the more older I'm getting, I'm totally open to it all as well. But one thing that I absolutely know is that you cannot do that to try and gauge someone else's interest in you. You have to do it for your reasons, because you want to do it and because it makes you feel good, not because you have low self-esteem and you're trying to find a way to boost that. So I really feel for you. And I honestly, it really isn't him. It's you. I think spend time with the people that make you feel good, do things that make you feel good, hobbies, interests, and really start to turn that spotlight inwards on what you really do love about yourself because there's so many amazing things about you I would start there and then see how that pans out for you good luck my gorge good luck right next up message from anonymous so uh ever elder dick yes a dick so good one hi lamanda and imo uh I'm here to share the most embarrassing moment of my entire life courtesy of my child it's always the kids guys please keep me anonymous but shout out to my sister who will know who I am when she listens to this we're huge fans of the pod and she's asked me to send this very many times so it just reminds me of sense parts we went away uh just before new year we're in the change rooms of the swimming pool which as you know there are lots of changing rooms and l i was on my period and l at the top of her voice why do you put that blood thing up you're none you know and it's like will you stop shouting so loudly like it was just constant and then go loud clemmy talks so loudly loudly she shouts she doesn't talk she just shouts i'm like shouts so why are you pushing that thing back up your nunny mummy it's like it's a period shut up anyway uh set the scene we've just returned uh our crotch goblins to school after 26 weeks oh wow 26 weeks of lockdown oh yeah lockdown oh okay we're going back yeah and my daughter is now in year one at school now having not seen her friends for an awfully long time she was eager to return and myself equally as excited to no longer have to homeschool.

36:11Anna Williamson:All is well for a few weeks and we transitioned back to normality perfectly. Then one unsuspecting day at pick-up time, I'm asked by her teacher if she could have a word with me. I don't know about anyone else, but this instantly fills me with dread. It does me. Absolute fear. Can we just have a word, Mrs. Deeper Squirrelly? Shit. And a million scenarios start racing through my brain, wondering what she has said or done. The teacher comes over to me whilst my daughter sweats it out next to me, clearly knowing what she has done, but adamant She's not done anything. I was informed that my daughter had taken her digital camera to school, which she was bought for her birthday only a few months earlier.

36:45Anna Williamson:Nothing fancy. You know, the ones that are brightly coloured with the small digital screen. The teacher goes on to say that my daughter had told her I gave permission for this to be taken in. Bloody liar, she says. I politely explained this was not the case and I would discuss this with her top parent. My naivety thought that was all over. It was all over and I was free to leave with said camera. but no, that would be too easy. I was then told that my daughter decided to become David Bloody Bailey at break time and take the camera out of her bag and take photos of her friends. Innocent enough, right?

37:20Anna Williamson:But the teacher explained she posed a safety issue and due to safeguarding, she had to ensure all photos of the children were deleted off the camera. So she explained she had done this and handed me back the camera. Yes, I told her I completely understand, apologised and I told her that we would ensure it didn't happen again when we got home whilst talking to her about not taking things from home to school, I sat scrolling through the camera myself to see what else she had been taking photos of, only to be greeted by a full length full length photo of me in the shower with my bare fat ass in full view and the little shit had taken it without me knowing so yes Yes.

38:01Anna Williamson:The teacher, whilst ensuring that all photos of the children were deleted from my daughter's camera, she also got a full-on view of my naked body in the shower. I've never been more mortified in my entire life and I still get anxiety whenever I think about it. I also wonder how many other teachers had the pleasure of also viewing my arse pic. You know she sent that picture around to all of the teachers. Yeah, she's definitely showed her. One honey pee. And whether it was the talk of the star for him. Moral of the story, check your kids' bags before they go to school. anyway I hope my sister enjoys reliving my trauma it's only fair she writes in with her own traumatic and shitty dog walk story if this one makes the pod well it's over to your sister we want that story oh my gosh I thought she was going to say she was taking really inappropriate photos of the kids of the kids that's what I thought she was going to say so I mean you got off lightly with that one mate mortified remember if you want to get in touch you can email us luanna at everythingluanna.com you can also drop us a whatsapp on 07745 266 947.

Oh, this is, I don't know how I feel about this, but jury trials have been scrapped for crimes with sentences of less than three years. so um jury trials in england and wales for crimes that carry a likely sentence of less than three years are going to be scrapped uh to reform the justice system um this includes also creating swift courts under government's plan to tackle the all these delays in the court system yeah serious offenses like murder robbery rape will still go before a jury and volunteer community magistrates who deal with the majority of all criminal cases will take on even more work um so basically i guess this will be like petty petty theft burglary i don't know well i feel i don't know how i feel about this because the thing is at least when you have a jury you have a cross section of people from society yes um to create like an unbiased view right so you might have like the richest person in the room the poorest person in the room that person's from that ethnic community that person's from that one that one's from there that one does this for a job that one doesn't work but magistrates are the same they're all from a cross-section of community as well so I think I think with the I mean I've got four magistrates in in my family and I know I know other magistrates and I'm with you I think initially I'm thinking oh yeah it I think it feels like quite elitist having yeah you know a judge sitting there sort of passing comment on the peasants below So yeah, that's how I feel.

41:44Anna Williamson:Yeah. And I can see how people would see that. I think when you look into it and I say, I don't know like too much about it, but I know a fair bit about it. Just through knowing a lot, randomly a lot of people that go into this work. Magistrates actually have so much training that goes into what they do. They don't just rock up, you know, and sit on a, you know, in a court and then, you know, start dishing out all these, you know, sentences. the level of training is rigorous they are um you know fully um vetted you know and regulated and go through constant training i think though that someone who has um is able to invest that time in themselves to do that comes from a certain demographic right that's not true they've got they've got time that's not true they're magistrates that i know that come from all cross sections of society and demographics some who work in the local supermarket some who choose to do part you do get compensated you know a little bit for your time but i only speak from people i know i totally get what you mean because i think that is the perception that you think and it used to be um well because you think people who are investing that yeah of a certain they haven't got anything else to do they not that they haven't got anything else to do or that they've got the ability to pursue something that they want to do yeah because they've got the resources to be able to to study like that whereas like joe blogs normally on the street doesn't have time or money to be able to do that which does make it elitist so so my so my yeah i think it used to be like that from my my understanding is you know a few decades ago yes it was a bit kind of white middle class uh you know that that system there my understanding of recent years and again that's just people i know that have gone into magistracy um who have a genuine interest in that kind of vocation but you know haven't wanted to do it as an actual career but do want to actually kind of give back as well um I I know people that are in you know pretty pretty sort of what you'd call you know average day-to-day jobs um and and and and the training is sort of evening classes and stuff like that or evening work and I do know that the magistrates are specifically now more and more they have been um recruited based on it not being elitist it being more of a jury so all different cultures different ethnicities um different sexuality every single different demographic to represent um as much as you can i guess an unbiased uh an unbiased sort of bench but i think i think for me i'm i'm for this in the sense that if it is the lesser crimes if it can push through a lot of the enormous backlog um but i just i don't think that juries do create a backlog.

44:32I wouldn't know

44:33Anna Williamson:if I'm honest. I don't understand how they can blame juries for the backlog. It's not, I wouldn't think it's like juries. Well, why else would you get rid of juries to make things quicker? Whether you're doing a case, you still have to present the argument, defence has to present, prosecution has to present. Okay, and then you do have like maybe a week or longer for jury debilitation and I guess deliberation, sorry, So maybe that's what they're saying, that it would then cut out like a week of deliberating for a jury. I don't know. But like, I guess that would cut cases down. Yeah, maybe. And I think maybe, you know, because magistrates can impose a sentence of up to 12 months or a fine of an unlimited amount.

45:20Anna Williamson:And so it's saying here legislation would need to be introduced to bring in different changes to give bigger powers to them. But then I'm guessing in a kind of magistrate's court, that is where a case is heard to then escalate if it needs to be escalated. I don't know. I'm wondering if what they're saying is if they bring this into this, it kind of fast tracks a lot of cases that otherwise don't need to be escalated. But if the ones that do need to be escalated, then do go up. I think it's an interesting notion. And as I say, I think probably we'll see if it's effective or not. But one thing I do know, and I say, sadly, knowing a few people kind of indirectly that have had to go through, you know, court systems of, you know, recent years, you know, the backlog is so huge.

46:07Anna Williamson:You know, they are waiting years to have any form of justice. And I think possibly anything that could be trialed to expedite that possibly is a good thing. But I guess something needs to be done. Well, it just, yeah, something does need to be done. Because it is just huge, the backlog. But then the prisons are overrun as well. The problem is there's too many people in the country breaking the law. That's the problem. It's cracking down on the crime side of it, yeah, to not be in that place in the first place. I was reading the other day. I was reading something the other day. I think it's the Netherlands.

46:42Anna Williamson:I might be spreading fake news here, but Netherlands apparently are closing. Did you read this? They're closing prisons because the crime rate is dropping and dropping and dropping year on year. I mean, what a wonderful position to be in. 28 prison yeah yeah but you have to remember in the netherlands that's where like marijuana is legal and all that right it's different laws yeah so their laws are probably a bit more relaxed so there's less crimes because the illegal activity that we have here is legal there such a good point such a good point um i guess we'll see we'll see if it works and we'll see what happens as a result of it.

47:19Anna Williamson:Yeah. Right, next up. Kate Winslet has been slammed for comparing her Nepo children to doctors and judges. So the daughter of screenwriter Richard Curtis has taken aim at Kate Winslet's claim that her children are not Nepo babies. Earlier this month, Kate, earlier this month, yeah, the Oscar winner actress branded the term which is used to describe the children of celebrities who also work in the entertainment industry as silly. She spoke to the BBC and Kate said her children were not getting a leg up in their careers, but her latest role was written by her 21-year-old son. Oh, wow. Yeah, so she was speaking to the BBC.

48:09She was promoting her directorial debut, Goodbye June, and Goodbye June was written by her 21-year-old son, joe anders um and i guess like she's well he's written it she's directed it and she's saying

48:24Anna Williamson:it's no different to you know she's she's she's clapping back saying look you know doctors and you know it's no different to you know and i know many people that have gone on to become yeah doctors lawyers or whatever because their parents were and you know their parents sort of set that precedent of of where they wanted their children to ideally follow in the footsteps um so she's sort of defending it saying net nepotism is about so much more than handouts it's about growing up in a world that's notoriously hard to penetrate that wasn't her sorry no that was sorry that was yeah the other person that was clapping back learning from a young age how to navigate that world it's not about having to get five jobs to support creative dreams and more than that basically people are getting shitty saying that kids of famous people are getting a leg up into the industry and getting an unfair advantage and kate winslet saying no I mean I'm going to be honest I think you call it as it is I think there is obviously an advantage anyone who can help their kids I saw this story about this girl and for Christmas she got like given a house and she's 19 and her parents like gave her a house for Christmas and it kind of went a bit viral or whatever on TikTok but actually a lot of the comments were like well why wouldn't you do that if you could for your children because you're saving on bloody inheritance tax and you are helping them out in a world where everyone's complaining like the young people can't get on the property ladder if you can help your child get on the property ladder should you i don't know still i don't know what's what's right and what's wrong and it's nice to uh it's nice to achieve things in life i think yeah yeah it does i wonder if you do take the fire out of the belly and the want to work and possibly you know things like that when you just do hand things like houses um to your kids on a plate but at least this dude's working well and also I think as well do you not think that it's it is it is so child dependent you know some kids you know have an absolute gut-wrenching passion and talent and this and you know and they and they want to emulate their parents career and you know and and and if if you're you you as that parent have been able to open those doors by giving them that influence you know and for them loving that passion or there is then because Brooklyn Beckham always gets a backlash doesn't he about you know trying different things and you know riding off the fame of his parents and stuff and you know what you know I don't know Brooklyn Beckham he gets a hard time you know it is what it is over there but I'm going to be honest with you yeah if my kids like say my Enzo and I was thinking him because he's a bit of my little protege oh you should have seen him at Nativity smashed it as a narrator but but if he did say you know and he really meant it like and he wasn't just grifting because I'm not having any kid that's grifting do you know what I mean that you've got to work your ass off to get shit you've got to know the value of money but if he really did have an aptitude is it aptitude for broadcasting or whatever it may be the creative services and I could help him by you know putting him in touch with the right people to get work experience whatever fuck yeah I'm gonna do it of course I'm gonna do that but I think where people are taking aim at Kate is because Kate's basically saying my kids didn't have a leg up by being my kid like they would have done it on their own accord anyway well that's difficult to believe well actually I don't think that's well I don't think Enzo's going to be writing a screenplay for Kate Winslet do you know what I mean well you never know but I guess she's a mama she's going to defend herself it will always exist and if you can help your kids especially if you're encouraging your kids to work it's not like she's handing out like a shit ton of money he's actually obviously got a flair for this he's done other stuff in the industry as well and so you know probably quite what a lovely thing to do to work and direct a film that your son has written as well I think what a lovely thing to do yeah it's like a family I think it's jealousy and also but also as a mom and I get it I would do the same yeah I think it is a bit anepo baby if I'm honest with you but at the same time it's her kid and she's defending her kid and I would probably do the same if i'm perfectly honest i think the thing is like she's it's not saying that i don't think people are saying there's anything wrong with being a nepo baby it's just saying like no they're not a nepo baby right i didn't actually have any leg up for them right it's hard to believe it's hard to believe yeah i i i absolutely whereas if enzo ended up being like on the tv or whatever I think you would have the wherewithal to be like, yes, I did have a hand in it.

52:47Anna Williamson:And admittedly, exactly that. I would go, yeah, he's working hard. But of course, I've been in the industry for 30 years, and of course I did. I think you're right. I think what people call out is when they think there's some bitty bullshit. And I think that's fair too.

53:14Anna Williamson:Did the scratcher come to your house and hand you a check? 54:12Go for it, Lou. Right, we've got in from Christina. She says, no need to keep me to none. I'm Christina and I live in Essex. Both my daughter and I have medical needs, so I spent quite a long time waiting in the pharmacy for prescriptions. Whilst I see other people pick their prescriptions up and confirm their name and address, I then Google their address. Oh, my gosh. To find out where they live, how much their house is worth, when they bought it. I look at the floor plan on Rightmove and their council tax ban. I'm not sure if this is weird or if anyone else does this.

54:46Anna Williamson:I think this is weird. This is weird. This is also a bit stalkery, my darling. Stalkery. I think you need to pick up Imo's cryptic crossword and have a go on that instead. Okay, it's weird, but I love your honesty, Christina, and that you've actually been bold and haven't even gone in with an alias. Good for you. Next up, we've got Anonymous. So Hugh Jazz. Hugh Jazz. Love it. Hugh Jazz. Hi, for me Hugh Jazz. I think I might be a weirdo of the week, or just a weirdo. I've always loved the smell of my own belly button. I've thought of anyone else's belly button makes me sick, but I definitely feel comfort in my own smelly belly.

55:21Anna Williamson:When I was in my 20s, I met someone who also unknowingly, unwittingly, found comfort in this smell. So basically, I used to stick my finger in my belly button, straight up to my nose for a constant smell fix of belly smeg. One day, my partner at the time gave me a kiss in the morning after doing this. She was besotted with the smell and she said, you smell like sleep. She loved it. It was her favorite thing as well as mine. So I would rub that belly cheese all over my top lip. Oh, this is rank. Top lip for extra love and affection in the morning. I feel awful now. I'll make sure I don't get smelly belly.
