In short
Luana the podcast episode mixes chaotic banter with practical recommendations and listener advice. Main segments include: planning a St Bart’s trip for their 40th birthdays; HRT-related “leaking” during a Thai massage; “weird things found when moving house” (a stiff gel/sauncy DVD discovery, plus a haunted-loft story); a listener relationship decision about moving to Germany after redundancy; and a discussion inspired by Grace Beverley about making friendships more meaningful (quality over rushed catch-ups).
Guests
No podcast guests appear in this episode. The “guests” are listener voice notes/messages and the hosts’ friends mentioned in passing (e.g., Emma from WSL, and Grace Beverley referenced via a video/podcast).
Key claims
HRT can increase breast milk leakage; meaningful friendships require intentional, deeper check-ins; you can reduce risk in a big move by trying the new country first (company pays costs) and possibly keeping the UK house.
Notable examples
97-year-old granddad’s “stiff gel” in a bedside drawer; a saucy DVD found during a wall-mount setup; a loft hatch that moves in a 300-year-old cottage; a listener’s Germany relocation package (visas, lessons, accommodation, redundancy + new job).

And then, yeah, passed out. I got up at half three and buzzing. It's another day in Luana land, guys.
1:43Anna Williamson:Good morning to you. Welcome to Luana the podcast. Obviously, it's Lu, it's Anna. We are here in Chapneys 2, the pod pod. Emojin, Rose Leticia Austin-Heart is looking bouge over there. Bex is on the floor. I can smell feet. Is it your feet? Is it your feet? I washed this morning, so no. Is it smelling? 2:33It's a bit crusty. You need a pedicure. It's all crusty. I just bloody had one. Oh, she didn't do a very good job. It's all crusty under there.
2:41Anna Williamson:I need to moisturise today. It's because it's windy. Can I just say on the YouTube comment front, big toe, people like feet, your farts, and your burps. Really? Wow, we've got a load Can I just say, as my parents just say, they go, all that education, really well spent. Just for YouTube. Yeah. Ready? Lou is now caressing my foot. This little piggy went to market. This little piggy stayed at home. This little piggy had roast beef. And this little piggy had none. And this little piggy went... Straight to the badge, straight to the badge. Oh, we're home!
3:21is that our first OnlyFans feet account content
3:24Anna Williamson:you monetise it so you know yeah get that on TikTok get that on TikTok Becca get it on OnlyFans get it on WikiFeet we're off well good Morgan good Morgan to you all listen if you're not following us you know you need to it's that top right hand corner press follow now and please if you're watching on YouTube do subscribe so then bish bash bosh bish bash now I've got something to ask you this, Bags. I was going to ask it last week and I forgot. And you know, I know Emo's going to eye roll at this because it's admin on the pod. Basically admin on the pod, the shit we should talk about off the pod.
3:58Anna Williamson:But quite honestly, you want to know. We like sharing our life with people. I was thinking the other day, I was thinking, I don't know why we would talk about this, me and Alex. I think you and Al are the same age. Suddenly realise the old 40th's are coming up. Ignore his, but yours is the one I'm interested in. No, didn't I tell you? What are the latest plans? What's the plan in Dubai? What's the plan? Right, the plan is a very small group of us. Andrew, me and Andrew, and then five couples. Obviously, you're one of them. Yes. We're going to go bougie. We're not doing the south of France. We're not doing a yacht.
4:34I thought you said you wanted to do St. Bart's. We're doing St. Bart's. Yes. And I know initially we floated the idea of taking all the kids to Antigua. It was a small float. We're leaving them in Antigua and then the adults going to St Bart's. We're not doing that. Fuck the kids. We're just all going to go to St Bart's.
4:50Anna Williamson:Now, this is what we're talking about. And I'm so happy about this. Probably March next year. Next year? When's your first year? Next year. It's not next year. Oh, my God, of course. Yeah, it's next year. Of course, we're in. So we're going to start planning it now. I've been, we've been making, I say I've, Andrew's been making a few phone calls to secure the villa. Because I want the Rockstar Villa at Eden Rock. I was going to say, oh my God, this is the content that's going to bring content. And it's like six-bedroom villa. Amazing. So limits who I can bring. Yeah, well, that's very kind to be on the A-list.
5:22Always on my A-list, Bubs. Baby, Bubsy, Boo Boo.
5:25Anna Williamson:Fits touching me. Yeah, sorry, yeah. Look, that's just, that's certain it's a grand, that. That's just certain it's a grand. Okay, do it again. We have a joint account, so we have Luanna accounts. There you go, there you go, another grand. It's all this, in fact, the fee could pay for the 40th. Well, take a little foot content. but yeah so that's the plan we're going to do some darts excellent you will be I'm going to set up a new WhatsApp group yep because there's like the SB the SB group the SB40F yeah savage says Bex that's what we're going to no because then we've got like other groups we're in a lot of groups but there's like too many people in the other groups and I can't invite everyone we need to have sprinter groups does anyone ever struggle with this like you know sometimes when you bring other people into the group and then you feel like with friends.
6:09You don't want to be rude, dude. It's not being rude. You don't want to be rude, but you feel like then you can't do something anymore with that friend, without inviting that friend, without inviting that friend. And sometimes you just want like that friend and it's not that you don't like that other friend, but you just want special time with that one friend without like, and you don't want to upset anyone, but it's a different vibe. Like I find when there's a big group versus like a small group, it's such a different vibe. It's time and a place, isn't it? I think we're going to talk about that.
6:36Anna Williamson:Yeah, I have actually. I've got my hand cream. I'm going to start creaming up now, guys. Literally doing. Not only live admin, but now actual body care on the pod. Look how wide and pasty. This is a new low or a new high, perhaps, if you're watching on YouTube right now. This might be a new high for you watching. It's a new low for me and Evidium. If you want to hear about a new low, I had a new low. I totally relate to that, by the way. And I think we've actually got a new story. we're going to chat about it a bit later actually aren't we about friends and exactly that quality time but talking of lows I had a massive low the other day I'm still creaming by the way guys I'm really enjoying this new like Luana Land sleepovers just doing our life on the pod you know I like my Thai massage I had a new even by my standards a new low having said that there might be a niche audience for it So then you've already dipped before with the farting and...
7:38Anna Williamson:Well, yeah, actually. I think it's a new niche low, actually. So, you know, my time as Zeus is quite... Chunky. Overzealous. No, no, no. Well, it depends. There's many of the lovely ladies. They're quite overzealous. They're quite hardcore. Oh, they go in. Yeah, they go in hard. So, a few people have been... Well, quite a lot of people actually messaged me because, you know, I started doing my HRT. Yes. You know, on my HRT. And just for that clarification, I'm in month two of taking me HRT. All is well. How's the dry vag? Not as dry. Really? No, actually not as dry at all. It's moisturised. It's moist.
8:16Anna Williamson:Is it? It's when you walk. Moist. It's moister. Anyway, that shit's meant to turn you on. You're the lesbian here. No, it doesn't. I don't turn him on. No. Well, that's the whole point, isn't it? The vag should get wet. Well, yeah, but like moist is just not nice. Does that sound sweaty to you? Yeah, like moist damp. Moldy moist. Moist to me sounds a bit thrushy. A bit thrushy. Breeding ground for the old yeast. A bit bacteria. Imagine someone comes up to you and listens in your ear, I'm really moist. I'm going to try that with Andrew. You'd be like, no thanks. Well, last week we messaged him about ball bags.
8:55Anna Williamson:Can you message Andrew this morning saying you make me moist? No. No.
9:03Anna Williamson:I would do that to my husband, but he's got no sense of humour today because he's broken his arm. He goes, shut up, you're pranking me again in the podcast. Bless Andrew. I don't think he realised we were pranking him at all. Poor bastard. Yeah, poor Andrew. I think it's best to be in Andrew's world. He's a bit more high class and intelligent than us, quite honestly. Do you know what I saw? Sorry to hide you. No, go on. I saw this and I actually sent this to Andrew this morning. Go on. do you remember when we found out Andrew had a secret Instagram account on our WhatsApp group the yacht group does he?
9:35yes don't you remember
9:36Anna Williamson:we had this whole chat yes he's a lurker isn't he on Instagram he's got a lurker account he's a bloody lurker anyway of course he is keeping up with his wife he's not stupid that man sent him this this morning and I said this is us we'll put this on our can you put a little clip of this on YouTube this is Somi and Andrew look
10:04Anna Williamson:it's so you and Andrew it's basically an extra wife going for it and a husband just looking awkward and though he wants to give up on life behind that is you and Andrew that is you and Andrew and then she goes into life when we go on holiday basically what happens is Lou is practically naked, gyrating across an entire venue. And Andrew just stands there with a mixture of either pride or horror. So it depends on what Lou's actually doing. He'll either be like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, no. Oh, no. Or he just laughs and thinks that's the woman that I'm married to and have to penetrate on occasions.
10:48Anna Williamson:Anyway, sorry. What were you saying? Back to massage. Back to massage. No, it was a low for me. So with me HRT, right, it's going very well. So I have my oestrogen, my little oestrogen spray on my arms. What, does that all you do then? No, so you have like every night I have a spray. I go for the spray. Yeah. And I do one spray on each arm. Is that it? And then I take progesterone. So you have to have both. So I do 14 days. So oestrogen is every day. I'm on that 24th. Yeah, I'm on that every day. And then it's oestrogen all the time, progesterone, 14 days on, 14 days off. So then I have a period.
11:20Anna Williamson:Because I still have a cycle. I still have a period. So I'm in peri. I'm not in menopause. I'm in perimenopause. So the reason why the doctor suggested I went on it is to try and minimise my terrible symptoms, which was just, yeah, just feeling flat. Not me. You know, no libido. Exactly. All of that. Definitely feeling an improvement. However, one of the slight side effects I've noticed is, and have I told you before that I... You keep touching your tits. Yeah, it involves my tits. And this comes into the Thai massage because my right boob has always, I can squeeze a little bit of boob milk out of that.
11:56Anna Williamson:Always have been able to since a breastfed L. And it's slightly like, I think the oestrogen or something has increased that ability a little bit more. I don't know. It's probably Alex sucking on your tits, like stimulating it. Oh, don't. Bitty. Bitty. So I'm in my Thai massage and it was a low point. So, you know, like basically you're only in your pants. so yeah and then they get to the end bit and she always puts the little silk sheet around it sits me up puts the silk sheet she sort of attempts to sort of do it up to cover modesty I don't really care the tits flock out and then she does that sort of osteopathy sort of you know yank yank one of them went to me the other day do you want to be clicked I was like absolutely not do not click me you're going to paralyze me I mean there is always a slight risk of paralysis isn't there so so she was doing it sort of doing the rock and you know you're quite entwined at this point you She's entwined in me.
12:47Anna Williamson:And I noticed with said tittage, well, she's wearing a black jean. And as she's doing this and then she's going, rock, rock. I noticed that my right nipple had been wiping across her jean. And I looked down and there was a tit snail trail of HRT colostrum on her black jean. Do you know what I did? Looked it off? No, I just got my elbow and gave it a little rub. Oh, my God. You highlighted it to her. Just sort of, yeah. What? Yeah. I'm not finished. I'd left, have you ever heard that? No. I'd say it's a podcast first. Oh. And you rubbed it off. What did she like? What are you doing to my leg? Well, she didn't.
13:33Anna Williamson:Didn't you think, why are you now rubbing her leg? Well, it was quick. It was like a quick sort of, you know, like little shit. Tell her a bit weird though. Why would you do that? Well, I couldn't leave a snail trail of shit milk on her leg. She might have thought it was a bit of toothpaste or something. She wouldn't know what it was. It looked like a bit of a snot line. Small, but you know. But mighty. But mighty. So I just thought I'd share that for anyone else that's on their HRT journey. Is anyone else leaking milk on that masseuse? Please write in and let us know.
14:10Shall we move on? Let's move on. Can I just butt in for two seconds?
14:14Anna Williamson:I have a little gift for you Oh What? Yeah This was actually organised by You know my mate Emma At the WSL Yeah Well Is this a football thing? Yeah Well By the way Sorry Did you have My girlfriend Niamh over? Oh yeah for dinner We're planning it She's holding quiet on us Can't we bring her here Like one day for our sleepover And we could do a one off podcast With her on it She'd be well into it We could invite someone over Like once a month And Leah Williamson to. We don't have direct access to Leah yet. Well, I think we do. Yeah, we got that video. Yeah, but that was via people. But she knows who I am.
14:53Anna Williamson:She knows that we're related. Until she replies to Anna's DM, we're not in. Hang on, she followed you yet. Let me try, I'll just double check it. Anyway, she would be into that. Neve would. Yeah, she would, but it's all down to like schedules because she's a busy girl. What if I climbed into her bed and then she'd do a whole hashtag me too on me? She would, so don't do that, Lou, because we would actually be cancelled. We would. Anyway, back to my... She hasn't seen my message yet, I replied. Oh no. So she knows you exist, she just chose not to follow you. Well, I don't think she's seen it though.
15:22Because she did not follow you. It's probably
15:23Anna Williamson:fallen way down in the requests box. Send another one. You're going to have to double message. Thank you so much for the video. Oh no, now we're at a really awkward point in life, guys, because I've just noticed that in the message I sent her, I now can no longer send her a follow-up message. Oh, because it's invitation sent. You can send more messages after your invitation has been accepted. Leah Williamson, Cuz, could you accept me? It's now getting really embarrassing. Anyway, Emma sent us some shirts. Oh! When you do end up going to a WSL match. I'm going to wear this for next week's episode.
16:01Anna Williamson:Me too! What a good idea. There's one for you. One for you. Thank you. This is amazing. Can we open this? you can open it here's for the thank you Emma thank you so much Emma this is really kind I also have one but I left it at home Emma would you like to give another plug to these guys anything else that they're wanting to talk about well basically just go and watch the WSL matches guys this is lovely this is a really nice football shirt thank you I'm going to wear this for next week's record lovely really appreciate it it's pink and it's orange I love that nice colour scheme yeah it's nice isn't it I love the fact they've got pink they're not shying away from the fact that that are women.
16:42Women. I'm waiting for it.
16:45Anna Williamson:Oh, I thought you were going to... I'm lesbian. Yeah, there it is. There it is. Right, so, right, shall we go in? Yes. Oh, hang on, hang on, hang on. I just need to check what mine is. Right, okay. Hang on, just hold, because I need to see what I'm going to talk about. Oh, yes, I guess I've got it. Mine's on my laptop. Oh, no, I know. No, yeah. Yeah, I know too. So it's time for... It's the Wreck-a-Zero, the Wreck-a-Zero, it's the Wreck-a-Zero. Right. That's a really good jingle. To be fair. That's good. That's good. I'm not going to go first this week because I feel my Bimfluencer slightly killed the vibe last time.
17:19Anna Williamson:I think Lou should go first. Just like I said, there's quite a few Bimfluencers out there now. I think I've started a trend. Anyway.
17:27Lou's gone first. So. So. So. I would like to recommend. Yeah.
17:41so much stuff that is just overwhelming full disclosurely funny
17:44Anna Williamson:as Imo says to us all to prep for this before we come on to each episode and every episode Lou sits there waiting and hoping that everyone will go before her so it gives her a few minutes of thinking time Imo has now put her in the spotlight right I am recommending the Thermomix to everybody yes because I'd say this is better than last week where she literally looked around the studio and found a plug and then recommended in the plushy store in a corner. It's a really good idea, taking one induction and extension lead on holiday. That's a very practical record. I actually did like it. See, and so this year, if you're like running a busy household and you're trying to be more organised, I cannot recommend a machine like the Thermomix enough because it's very easy.
18:29It's cooking for dummies. You can batch cook. So you can just plan your meals. freeze it, take out the freezer. It's always home cooked. It's always healthy. I think this is not only the year of the horse for us all, which is obviously my year, but it's also the year where we all need to start cutting back on processed foods. Oh, for sure. We need to start cutting back on eating out. No to UPF. I mean, I know eat out to help out and all that Rishi Sunak, or whatever his name was bullshit. What's his name? That was years ago. That was in COVID. Well, I'm just saying, we're still eating out to help out, aren't we?

19:05supporting businesses. You know you said last week
19:08Anna Williamson:you're trying to make us cool. But what I mean is is that we really need to be aware of what we're eating and going into our body. And there's a lot of bad shit that restaurants are putting in food. Food cooked in lots of oils and fats and things. And therefore, if you cook with something like a Thermomix and you plan your meals, you will find yourself cleaner, healthier, happier, lighter, brighter. Your skin will shine like the light of a thousand stars in a galaxy far, far away. And that is my... That is unsubstantiated claims, but... That's my record. It also veered into Star Wars, which I'm here for.
19:48Anna Williamson:There you go. Excellent, Lou. Thank you for that. Yes, Becca, it looks like you needed to interject. I'm just struggling with this section because it just really just highlights how uncool you guys are. Thank you, Bex. Thank you. We appreciate that. I can say Thermomix is a belter. It's a belter. It's a belter. Very good. expensive but worth the investment so I will be the antidote to Spenny on this one this week mine is it's about a similar theme of being mindful of waste not wanting not and all that kind of thing so we all know I do like my little Negroni or my little cocktails my little drinky but often you get these and we've had some lovely ones that were sent to us as well But when you've opened a big bottle, you know, I don't like to drink by myself.
20:35Anna Williamson:I don't think that's also healthy either. I don't think that's healthy. No, but sometimes of an evening, of a Thursday eve. You do drink by yourself. I do, yeah. I might just like a little, you know, a little snifter, you know, a little mini cocktail. A little finisher. So I have discovered, I may have talked about these yonks and yonks and yonks ago, but I discovered them in the Celebrity Farm Shop, actually. Okay. And they are miniatures called Edmunds. Have you seen these? I don't know if you know these. They are so cute. They're really good. Bex is concurring. They're really good. Sorry, I'm not on that.
21:04Anna Williamson:Yeah, they're really good. So they're called Edmunds. Okay. And again, I love supporting, you know, independent business as well. And they are the most cute little cocktail for ones. You get like a little tiny little glass bottle, like a miniature, but it's not like a shitty miniature. It's a decent miniature. Well, next time we have our food paper, bring some over. I'll bring some over. And you can get them in all kind of the favourite kind of... Espresso Martini. Espresso Martini. Cosmopolitan. You can buy them in packs of six. Nice. But it's basically cocktail for one. It's a great gift. They're about a couple of pound each.
21:37Anna Williamson:So I always think it's good. And I think it's good to be mindful of not over drinking. Because often you open a bottle and then you think, oh, I don't want it to go off. So I'll have another one. And I don't like that. It's just me, yeah. But so my recosecco is if you do like, you know, a little, just a little something. A little tipple. But you don't want to go mad. And it can be expensive. A couple of pound, Edmunds, little cocktails, all of them, daiquiris, you know, everything you like. for me, my little Negroni, and they are beautifully mixed. Quality ingredients, they're beautiful. I also like the fact that if you're having a dinner party but you're not quite sure what other people like to drink, some people like a Negroni, some people like an espresso martini.
22:13Anna Williamson:That's it. Or a margarita. A selection box and everybody can pick what they like and it's kind of nice starch. Yeah, and the packaging's really cute. It's bougie, isn't it? Bex has jumped on this. See, she loves it. Good recoseco this week? What is it called? Edmunds. Edmunds. E-D-M-U-N-D - Full disclosure, no ad or spawn. Genuinely saw them in the Celebrity Farm shop. They stocked them there and you can get them online because I've since then gone and ordered them. Oh, they're very cute. They're cute, aren't they? Show me. Yeah, they're really, really cute. Cocktails for one, basically. And they're really sweet.
22:44Okay, honey.
22:46Anna Williamson:That's my recoseco. A booze one. Lovely. Imogen? Mine is a place, a restaurant-y type place. Oh, nice. Basically, behind Leicester Square, I work very close to Leicester Square, and I've discovered this place, it's not a secret, called the Japan Centre. Oh yeah, I think I've been there. And they do delicious ramen, they do delicious all sorts of bits. Anyway. Very regional, this Reco. What do you mean regional? Yeah, if you're in London. A lot of people travel to London, particularly Leicester Square. It's a tourist hotspot. You get a lot of food for your money. And I would recommend their karagi chicken is$2.
23:33Anna Williamson:Oh, karagi chicken. I've never had that. And my mouth is watering. And sometimes I go there for lunch. So is mine. Absolutely delicious. And I feel like it's a bit of a hidden gem. Is it quite cost effective as well? Yeah. Not too spenny? No, not too spenny. and you get a lot of bang for your book. Is there Japanese people in the Japan centre? Yeah. Well, that's how you know it's good. It's good, exactly. And I just like it there and I was running out of thoughts. So that's my thought this week. Good rec-o-sec-o. Thank you. Excellent. Love that little schmorkers ball. They're all quite cuisine-based for us three.
24:10Anna Williamson:What was mine again? Oh, yeah.

24:46Anna Williamson:Let's move in let's mum fun into messages first a message from anonymous so Beaver McGee please keep me anonymous my granddad aww my granddad sadly passed away around five years ago but while clearing his house out my mum found some cream in his bedside drawer for some reason she decided to ask me to google what this gel was I'm not going to lie is it a good denture gel she must have known it wasn't but decided to embarrass me the gel oh wow was called stiff gel. I've never heard of that. It was what you think it is. My 97-year-old grandad has erection gel in his bedside table, which me and my husband found hilarious.
25:27Anna Williamson:Go on, grandad. I then went over there to pick up a little bedroom TV DVD player to put in my daughter's bedroom. My husband was setting it up on a wall mount only to discover a saucy DVD in the TV. Lucky we checked it out as my five-year-old could have got shot from this DVD. Bless my grandad. he was always so active and social but also had a racy side at his old age go on 97 with his stiff gel I've never heard of stiff gel I've never heard of stiff gel but sort of want to try it I really want to know more I wonder what happens if women put stiff gel on stiff clit yeah I love this I'm so into like older people just having a yeah why should I exactly older people in sex lives good for you grandad good for you right we've got another message on Trudy bum sponge was this you?
26:20yeah it was a long day
26:22Anna Williamson:bum sponge is a great one to be fair hi I feel like I've exhausted options close to me for people to talk to I have a bad habit of needing to run everything past people and get reassurance for my decisions and I know I do this so here I am now seeking advice from Lou, Anna and Imo I love the pod by the way, long time listener so here's my dilemma on a big life decision and I'm basically asking what would you do? I've been with my husband for around 13 years, married for nearly eight. I won't start delving into the relationship as it's not really about that. We're a normal couple I'd say, nothing much to report.
26:57He has worked his place of work for 23 years, heavy industry, it was a steady reliable job, he has climbed the ladder in and we've had a nice life. I work in finance admin locally and enjoy it as much as you can enjoy nine to five however we now have it confirmed by my we now have it confirmed that my husband's work will close and he will be made redundant sad times however we did think this was on the cards as he could just tell something was up it is only the uk-based closing not the company itself we live in the northeast we're geordies yay and have just moved from a modest three-bed end of terrace um in our hometown since birth to a four-bed detached lovely home in durham we love it we loved the surroundings the walks and the pubs and were by all accounts very content i have a 21 year old son who's in the military and is training to be an aircraft engineer he currently lives in lincolnshire on base so not at home and my husband has a son who is 17 and in college he's planning to go to uni he visits fortnightly and in the holidays we didn't have any children together time sort of passed by and we then realized that we like our freedom in adult lives I'm 39.
28:04My hubby is 42. So my husband has traveled to lots of places with work, but the big main base is in Germany. About a year ago, he mentioned to them that we would be interested in moving countries and trying something new. Very quickly, this was picked up by the German branch and they offered to fly us out and show me around as I had never been. We went. I really liked it. I had a great time and came away with the thought that I could live there. since that visit the news was announced of the closure and they have offered my husband a good job in a field he's well experienced and in a place he is familiar with after traveling there for years visas for both of us german lessons progression accommodation until we find our fee and lots of other help i was all for this to be honest new adventure and a chance to live a little bit outside the norm until i realized we probably can't afford to keep a house in the uk straight away as well as live in Germany so we will sell our new home and be without a base in the UK.
28:57Now I just sit and cry thinking about leaving my son with no base to come back to. He visits some weekends and when he has holidays we just had a lovely two weeks together at Christmas and this has been what's flipped my mind into second guessing. I just don't know what to do. My husband really wants to go and try it but since I've spoken about my worries he will say we just won't go and I'll find a job here it's fine and then this lands me with massive guilt that I'm holding him back it's like I feel I need to choose stay for my son or leave for my husband and I realize I'm not even taking my own feelings and wants into consideration but that that mum guilt always trumps your own feelings then no UK house wouldn't be forever we would have a lot of equity after selling this home so we just need to hang on to it maybe give it a year get on to our feet in Germany and then see how we were financially.
29:44I must add, the company is still giving my husband a healthy redundancy while still offering a new job in Germany to walk straight into. My son's dad has not been in his life and it was just me and him until I met my husband. We talk every day. He's a great kid. He said we should go and try it. But I've noticed a shift in his demeanor when I said we couldn't have a UK home for a while. I feel like I'm abandoning him. He has no siblings and no paternal side. I currently live close to my parents and two sisters and not too far from the in-laws who he can visit and he can come for holidays in Germany.
30:15But I know he loves coming home for respite and home comforts and he can be quite isolated living away from home. I also worry I will know no one. I can't speak the language initially and I'm leaving my job and giving up my independence. But on the flip side, it's living life a bit, trying something new and having life experience. I just don't know how to shift the guilt and make a decision. With all that being said, tell me your thoughts on what you would do, please, ladies. Thanks in advance and sorry for the novel.
30:39Anna Williamson:I mean this is I think this is thank you for bringing it to us and obviously I know Lou will probably share in a minute because obviously Lou has sort of done this herself recently you know with doobs and everything I think the first thing that I thought of I don't know if she's mentioned it I think you're right about yeah wanting to actually experience life and it sounds like a really lovely opportunity and my gut instinct was saying you know what I would go for it you know you only live once but obviously you want to try and mitigate your risk I think what about you said you're going to get a healthy redundancy from from the firm anyway and then moving into a highly paid job is not keeping your house an option and renting it out or even just keeping the house and leaving it empty and as a place for your son to go back to just for the first year or even six months that's what I was thinking can you just afford to keep that how you know why do you have to sell it if they're giving you a relocation package because I think that's probably quite a big step when it's like all or nothing baby in bath water you know and so that's what I would do I would personally speak to your son a bit more about it because I totally get that you're not going to enjoy the change if you're worrying that your son is back home feeling like an abandoned orphan, you know, blessing, which of course he's not.
31:47Anna Williamson:So I think for me, I think look at how you can do both. You can enjoy the move, but go and try before you buy, perhaps in Germany. They're paying for everything. That sounds great. I've actually got friends of mine that are doing this and moving to Nashville soon and same sort of thing. They're going to Nashville for, they're giving it a try for a year. the company are paying for all their costs out there give it a try the house back home they thought they had to sell but now they've said that they will take over and pay some of the mortgage on that house just to get exactly just to give them a bit so that way and i you know and that way it gives you that you know you've got yeah you've got your foot in both ways so i wonder if you could keep your house not sell it hold on to it and give it as a space for your son to go back to you could even fly back and see him too if you want and then maybe make a decision in six months a year that's what i was thinking i agree i mean you did say that keeping the house isn't an option I would say go for it because life is an adventure and I think if you don't live life and you don't grab these opportunities like what is life if you just stay in the same place your whole life doing the same shit different day same people like it's so fun I heard a good good phrase my friend Tom Reed Wilson when he went I'm a celeb and I love it fear is not a good enough reason to not do it like I just think god there's so much more to life right than the hometown that we're born in and in England and you know and I think it's good to explore different things and you can always come home and even if you need to sell that house I have to say your son is 21 years old he's a grown man with full-time employment and there comes a point where like you've got to do something for yourself and not constantly do for your kids because if this shoe was on the other foot and your son was saying this to you you'd be like oh my god go and live your life like and you're still young you're 39 your husband's 42 like you're you're actually you are really young younger than me you're a young couple like your son's 21 years old and also it's only for a year for a couple of holidays that he can't bloody come to a house I mean let's be realistic here a year goes really bloody quickly he's probably only going to be home three four times in that year when he gets holiday from the military job he does so you know I think that in that time why don't you if you want to come home or come back to a base and him be there rent the same airbnb in advance get him to book his holidays in advance rent an airbnb plan it ahead and then you can have that nice home environment you can always go back to the same one and book that we do that we sold our house in ireland we had quite a big house in ireland that we sold and now when we go with the kids we just always rent the same airbnb house like we have a one-bed apartment in Ireland as well that Andrew goes back to a lot but obviously we all can't stay there but when we do go to Ireland we just stay in the same house and it does feel like home from home and it is just an Airbnb.
34:33We do in the Lake District actually we have to say that feels like our home actually. I personally would flog the house because I don't think you need look if it's going to be a stretch for you affording the house don't do it don't have that added stress and pressure. Your son's 21, he's a grown man and he's got a job. And, you know, I think you're finding almost excuses of reasons not to go, which is normal and it's what people do, right? The change is scary. I did it a bit with Dubai and then you just got to take the leap and do it. And if you don't like it, you just come home and buy another house.
35:05You know, it's not like you can't buy another bloody four bed detached house in Durham. You know, I just think you've got to live life and you've got to take the leap and you've got to do the things that make you go a bit like, oh, I'm not sure. Because if you don't do it, you don't know. You never know, do you? Like there's so much more to life. Honestly, there really, really is.
35:23Anna Williamson:But it's also better to try it and then know. Exactly. Know if you liked it or you didn't like it. Live with the regret of having done it. Exactly. Than the regret of not having done it. Exactly. I always regret the things you do, not regret the things that you don't do. You tried. That's always what I say. I think we're saying give it a go, my love. But obviously you've got a couple of options there. Hopefully we've thrown a few different ideas into the mix to see if you can make it feel a little bit more palatable. Good luck. Let us know how you get on. Good luck. Guten Tag. Guten Tag. Hasta luego.
35:49Auf Wiedersehen. Lu. Right. Message on the non, so moan a lot. To my favourite girls, Luanna Moe, I was listening to this week's pod about weird things people found when they moved house. And I have a wild story. Quick disclaimer. I promise I'm not batshit crazy, although this story definitely tests that claim. but buckle in because this is a long one P.S. keep me in on you can call me Moana a lot oh I used to live in Milton Keynes fellow MK girl Lulu and rented a tiny beautiful cottage in a gorgeous village I viewed it on Valentine's Day fell in love instantly wooden beams massive garden for the dog an old barn full single girl farm fantasy chickens were planned and Pinterest boards were made I was living my dream but creepy stuff was always happening my dog would bark growl and wag his tail and nothing.
36:40But I always just tried to brush it off. Let me tell you. People though, they hated coming over. There was one loft hatch in the spare room and it was tiny. Absolutely no adult was getting through it, although it was big enough for a very small child. Stop. I used to hear noises up there. Oh don't. And the loft hatch would sometimes move. I fully spiralled and convinced myself someone was up there. The cottage was about 300 years old and weird shit happened constantly. It's like my granny pad.
37:09Anna Williamson:Not long after moving in, the landlady sent builders around because the brickwork needed repair. When the builder came around, he assured me it was probably wind and air coming through the dodgy brickwork, which made sense, but also it didn't reassure me much. He managed to poke his head in and said the loft was packed with stuff. When he asked the landlady what was up there, she said nothing. Her family had owned the house for about 80 years, but she'd never been able to get up there. Around this time, I fell into a really toxic and abusive relationship. honestly he was probably the most possessed thing in the house this relationship lasted for about two years and I had nothing but bad luck and eventually one day I got the balls to leave him and kick him out good not long after about three years after moving in at this point I wanted a fresh start so I decided to sell loads of stuff online mainly the things I bought with the toxic ex around Valentine's Day again a woman came to collect some things I was selling on Facebook marketplace.
38:06She walked into my house and told me she was actually a psychic. Of course you are, I thought. She told me the house had heavy energy. I needed a fresh start that I'd be moving soon and kept repeating the number three and a particular letter in the alphabet. When I tried to look back on Facebook now, I cannot find her anywhere. The messages are gone. She doesn't exist. What? Oh, I've got goosebumps. What? Oh my gosh. About a month later, I met my now partner his name starts with the very same letter she told me and we met on the 3rd of March 2023 yes that's right the 3rd of the 3rd I moved out shortly after into his very normal, very non-haunted new build home and I've genuinely never been happier, all my bad luck has gone, I still love that cottage but I'm convinced it gave me nothing but bad juju one day I'd love our own country cottage just without the creepy old psychic woman and a weird child sees loft hatch.
39:06I will forever regret not getting into that. I promise I'm not insane and I love this pod.
39:12Anna Williamson:That story I've so enjoyed. Don't we love a good psychic and ghost story and like possessed houses? Remember when we became obsessed with Ronnie Buck? No, no. I was thinking about him the other day actually. What were you thinking? Well, just about how I love that whole sort of vibe. I am so fascinated. having been in the granny pad and having like i think it was haunted then the granny pad i definitely think there was something going on like sage yeah after i'd saged it um and and what the psychic had said which is you have to tell them to please leave the home stop yeah i was there was definitely there was no there's no bad energy in my house it's like warm energy but there were definitely things happening that couldn't be explained but yeah it's it's really really really freaky i want to have more ghost stories guys send them in and if you do want to send them in.
39:59Anna Williamson:You can email us, Luana at everythingluana.com or you can drop us a WhatsApp on our new number. It is 075215 64640 Let's chat. Yeah, let's have a chat. So we're going to talk about a video that Grace Beverley did. I had never heard of Grace Beverley before but I've heard you talking about it. Didn't you do a podcast with her? I did a podcast, Grace Beverley. Yeah. I knew that one of you had done something and then I saw her and then at 3am this morning when I woke up and saw Imo sent this video for us to watch I went down a Grace Beverly rabbit hole. She's lovely. Quite an incredible woman. She is.
40:42She's an absolute boss bitch. She's amazing. And I was like I quite like a bit of Grace Beverly. She's fat. I didn't realise she owns that Tala, that brand. I didn't know. She's amazing. Then I was like well how did she get and she was a fitness influencer turned something else. Entrepreneur.
40:58Anna Williamson:She's also with our publicists. We have the same PR team. Oh really? We do. Husband's quite hot. I watched her whole vow. You did. You really did get down a Grace Beverly rabbit hole. I went down a proper Grace and I thought you seem like a lovely person. I can confirm. Ages ago oh good a couple of years ago I went on her podcast and she is an absolute little babe. But this kind of feeds in a little bit Lou to what you were saying at the top of this episode actually. Because yeah Grace always has really insightful videos actually um and she was throwing up a topic which i think a lot of us can relate to that many of us many of us grown-ups um find that friendships now feel quite superficial they feel quite rushed surface level you know dominated by just quick catch-ups you know just quick sort of how are you how's fine fine you know whatever yeah but nothing of actually any deep meaningful where the focus is Not like us Not, no We're very deep and meaningful on this podcast We're very, very deep and meaningful All of our farts and feet and fannies We go deep with each other But yeah, and I think it is a really good topic actually because how many of our really, really good friends do we actually stop and have meaningful conversation?
42:07Anna Williamson:A lot of what Grace was saying and I really buy into this and actually it really is quite apt at the moment something that happened to me last week where it is sort of quality rather than quantity you know And I think that is so true. And I think we always talk about, you know, real friends. And I put all of you actually into this category, you know, in the pod pod here. That, you know, really good friends are the ones that you can go weeks and weeks, months and months without speaking to. And you pick up where you left off. There's no ag. There's no where have you been. There's just no bullshit.
42:37Anna Williamson:Yeah. And the love like this. And this does sound a bit schmaltzy. But, you know, I do feel that. And like, you know, we're always here, there, everywhere. Obviously, you're in doobs, you know, back here as well. but it's it's sort of just a non it's just a non-thing like you just sort of pick it up where you go on um and i think it does raise the question isn't it how many of us feel that well this is saying wasn't it about not just catching up like doing things with people and making memories i feel like we're quite good at that like when we do do things like the traitors and the crystal maze i feel like we like our road trips and our like tours but again like that is work for us as well but also friendship i mean we don't really think of it as well you do your holidays and you do things together like that we do quite a lot of meaning but we do a lot of meaningful stuff a lot of people have time for that and i think that you know you do prioritize and i also you know i can't speak on behalf of men because i'm not a guy but i think as a woman and having like multiple children and a husband and then parents and there's so many other people that like you dedicate your time and energy to that sometimes I am a bit crap with friends.
43:49I think we can all be. Absolutely. And I'm just like, yeah, how are you? Or I don't reply to messages for ages because you just don't have like the energy or like that. I just feel like sometimes I'm just so drained. You can't take on someone else's load. And I'm so peopled out that it's just like, you're just done, aren't you? And that's what like she was kind of talking about. And this is saying, like, make your friendships more meaningful and aim for intentional interactions. So, like, share how you're feeling, not just about what you've been doing, not just like, oh, yeah, I did X, Y and Z and I've been to, you know, there, there and there.
44:26Anna Williamson:I think a nice way, sometimes I do with some of my friends I don't see as much, you know, real old kind of OG friends is actually I will often say, just saying, hey, just checking in. You know, how's life? You know, is everything OK? you know because you know you know that friends have got all kinds of as you say we've all got shit going on i think we can all relate to being a bit crap but actually what what really struck me it was really interesting how last uh the other week sorry i was up in manchester i was doing um just something on morning live on the telly and my one of my oldest uh friends kate um she was my maid of honor actually at my wedding like we just never see each other anymore and like all throughout our 20s we bought flats um next to each other in islington like she and she actually she is my friend that physically got me out of my abusive relationship yeah she was the friend that when that dickhead had you know reached his peak with me i remember calling her and she was out again true friends you'd have done this you'd all we'd all done this for each other she was down the road having dinner with a friend of hers a male friend of hers and i obviously messaged her and was like help me and literally dropped it she came straight over with this male friend and got me out and took me to her flat and i stayed in you know stayed in her flat you know the two definitely she's been a real friend but you know as life progresses she's now up north living up north and she's she's an amazing boss bitch she's got businesses and stuff up north um but i've never found the time i can't find the time to go and see her and anyway suddenly thought no the year of 2026 it's really interesting what grace is saying i was like meaningful friendships like you know it's because it's like with you we don't see each other as much now but when we are seeing each other we're really making it count like condensed time it's like and i'm loving that actually it's a really nice arrangement it's less sort of skittish yeah and actually i said no it's so easy to go i'll sod it i'll just drive straight past where you live in warrington and go straight to my hotel it's like no make the effort my friend wants to see me i want to see her she's showing her business so i veered off you know it's only 20 minute veered off and i went to see it and you know what we all we did was two hours because i had to go back up and we sat and we purged we both had a few little rants we wanted to but again you picked it up where we haven't seen each other probably face to face that year and we both said to each other afterwards it's like oh my god that was the nicest two hours that we just sat and just life because we love each other you know and it was so fucking good and it's so good and i said we just need to do if we can't do more of it because we can't do more of it we must schedule it yeah like it is important yeah i think you do have to prioritize friendships and put the effort in and it's hard and it is hard especially when there's like loads of people you want to catch up with I mean I'm guilty of not replying to a message you know when you read a message and then you don't reply in the time because you're busy doing something else and then it falls down the old and then you're like shit I didn't reply to them from two weeks ago I feel awful I think we also need to not get offended by people doing that we can all relate we leave them on read or whatever it's not intentional I don't have read receipts And then you know that other people don't reply to you and you're like, oh, but they didn't reply to me.
47:29Anna Williamson:But it is just because people have lives and it just happens. But yeah, I think everyone's so busy. It's really hard to schedule in that time. Do we think that our pace of life is just too fast? Sometimes I dream of the olden COVID days where I made bread from scratch and went on a lot of walks. Bloody banana bread. And used like OS maps to discover walks. like actually like a slower pace of life is is nice and it is it is a thing actually sort of just in the world of life coaching you know but but decreasing your circle of friends is is really a thing especially as you go later in life decreasing it and actually because it becomes less pressured and i think the the challenge often i find is and god it sounds so conceited up my own art i'm too popular i'm not really but but i've got so many friends or different friendships or you know I've worked in a lot of places where I've made a lot of friends you know I've been in telly for 27 years that's a lot of different productions where you you know and theatre where you do make such like you make really good connections but then life just moves on I've got a lot of friends that live around the world as well and you cannot keep up with everybody no you can't like like this sounds really random even today I happen to notice that um I'm quite friendly with Louis Spence sounds a bit random but I happen to say and it's not until things jog your memory.
48:48Anna Williamson:And I've seen he's done Paul, obviously my Paul Brunson's pod. Oh, has he? And I realised, and going back to our conversation here, I was like, oh, Louis, I've got to have a spoke to your agent. And I remember thinking, hang on a minute, oh, didn't Louis ask me if we could go out for lunch? Yeah, and it dawns on you. And then you're like, So I literally checked my WhatsApp. It was way last year and it was left with Louis going, oh, I can do this date and this date. And I'd forgotten to reply. So I've just voice-notched him this morning and I've just gone, Lou, I've just seen your appalls. Also, I'm really sorry.
49:21Anna Williamson:Terrible friend. Didn't go for lunch, did we? I mean, he won't give a shit. You know, he couldn't give a shit. But you know what I mean? It's things like that that kind of, yeah, jog your memory and then you know, you're not a shit friend by choice. Life just moves on and I think it's a really good point. But moving into 2026, as we already have done, I've definitely felt the value. What are we going for? A smaller circle? I think just quality time with the ones that really light you up. I think we talk about in coaching terms as well, in life coaching, but having those five people on your fingers, the ones that really make you feel great.
49:56Anna Williamson:And I always think the litmus test is when someone WhatsApps you or messages you, what is your immediate gut reaction? Is it like, ugh? Or is it, ah? And I think that's a really good indicator of what that person means to you or what they give you in life. There's definitely some people that I'm like, ugh. and some people I'm like yay you know and I think that's a good indication one of the biggest tips that I well we've implemented in our friendship circle is Wednesday waffle I was just about to say what's that what's Wednesday waffle have you got a Wednesday waffle what's the Wednesday waffle we're not doing this we're not waffling it's like went viral on TikTok this is why we have Gen Z's on this and it's basically we do it like bi-weekly and sometimes once a month who's we who's we her friends me and my friends and most friends and you basically do like two minute kind of voice note.
50:46Anna Williamson:Lou, you're going to hate this. Oh, I can't listen to that. Oh, we're out. We're tapped out. I see it as just like my morning podcast. And I'll listen to a podcast. Just to catch up? Yeah, and I'll listen to a podcast like once a day anyway. So I'll just listen to them instead. It's quite a nice idea. And it just, instead of like going back and forth and being like, oh my God, really? What's this? Yeah, it's like a monologue. This is what happened. And then you'll reply with your thing and then like any comment. Do you know what would be better than that, though? Go on. Just like, remember to COVID when we just did Zooms and you could see the face.
51:19Yeah, but then you have to like schedule in the time.
51:22Anna Williamson:Whereas like with my one, it's with my uni girls. One of them lives in Australia. One of them's in Sweden. One of them's in Jersey. And it's like, it's impossible. And then whenever we do end up all together, all of our time is spent catching up on the last year, two years. whereas when we do like constant catch-ups of like this is a newsletter of my life for the last week or two weeks or whatever yeah yeah you kind of know what's going on in each other's lives so that yeah time gets cut so you can spend it the time you are together on making memories actually you've got to send my pin number to someone that's right do you know i would i would agree with that actually because yeah and one of my oldest friendship groups from school um on a whatsapp group as well and it is the same thing it's like so many big things can happen that you as you say you just miss it if you don't keep catch up so I am whereas I am a big fan of quality now over quantity I do also agree that checking in and little you know I think that can really buoy you up particularly I think as well like um especially with you Lou like you know and doobs as well possibly there might be pockets of time where you feel like oh I wonder what's going on back home or whatever you know I definitely feel it if I'm in like a massive I'm in celebs go dating at the moment you know and sometimes I do feel quite disconnected from everyone outside I'm so excited of that, you know, and even just, as you say, I mean, my cab on the way home, just a few little funny anecdotes on whatever or something is actually quite nice.
52:42Anna Williamson:I think a little hybrid of both. I think just maybe being mindful of our friendships, but putting the effort into the ones that really matter. I think it's nice sometimes, obviously, like catching up is such a big thing, especially when you've not seen someone in a while. It's like it's big, isn't it? So what have you been doing with your life for the last six months? Some people are doing things. I didn't know one of my friends had split up with her husband. how bad is that and I thought she didn't know I was moving to Dubai one of my oldest friends and I was like oh my god we're so bad I forgot to tell quite a few people I was moving to Dubai and then they found out when I said it on Instagram but actually my friends that I talked to a lot knew that I was going exactly and I think that's a good point though with social media I think social media fills in so many gaps for so many people I mean even my own mother my mum has a running joke with me now and I speak to my mum pretty much every day on WhatsApp, we're always just banal crap but she has a running joke now, she went well I find out what you're doing through everybody else because she said mum doesn't do social media but her friends do so she was I find out what you're doing through all of my friends so I told she's always dropping me a message being aggy with me going oh I hear you've been doing that then and I'm yes, I've seen it on Instagram but don't you I sometimes just get so tired of talking oh god yeah i'm a miserable bitch at home i just want to go in my own little yeah in my own little world i love it i love my own company god i did something really bad what so when i'm horse riding i don't like being disturbed that's fair enough you're in your zone because i'm like riding a horse and anyway um my lovely mother-in-law was in dubai and i was horse riding and it was like half seven in the morning and she was calling me and I was like, that's weird, she's calling me, but I couldn't really answer.
54:35But I knew the phone was ringing because I had earphones on and I was like, oh, she'll be fine. Anyway, she only called me once, but it rang for quite a long time and then she didn't call me again.
54:46Anna Williamson:That time she was falling over in the bath. She fucking fell out of the bed. I felt awful. I felt awful. You dropped the phone call on your mother. I didn't drop it, I just didn't answer it because I was riding and my phone was like not. I don't think you should feel bad about that. No. Oh no. I mean what could you have done? What could you have done? She said she was there for an hour on the floor before. Why didn't she ring out Andrew? Well it was half seven in the morning so everyone else was asleep and she'd got up to go to the toilet. Oh bless her. I felt so terrible. Oh no. Come on you were on a horse.
55:23Miles away.
55:23Anna Williamson:But also imagine if you had picked up the phone call and fallen off the horse. and then die. And then we're both on the floor. Yeah, exactly. Anyway, I did feel really bad about that. Then I said to myself, I will always answer the phone now to my mother and my mother-in-law. Do you know what? Because my poor little mother-in-law, she's so cute. Oh, bless old mama-in-law. And I do love her. There are some people out there, which particularly now with parents who are getting older, I will, the school phone, whenever I see the school number come up, I know, I've even answered that right in the middle of a scene of Slaves Go Dating.
55:57Anna Williamson:But thank God I did because you know if the school's calling you, it's something that needs to be answered. Or my parents. Although because I'm always worried that something possibly happened to them, you know, because, you know. But yeah, it's an interesting one. I think it's a great conversation. It is. If nothing else, I think it just puts the spotlight on the meaningful people in our lives, actually. And that's a good thing. Well, good inspo, Grace Beverly. Thank you. And you've discovered Grace Beverly. I know, I've discovered Grace Beverly. So there you go. I like her. Right, now this is interesting.
56:29The number of people over 40 giving birth has surpassed teenagers for the first time. So a few decades ago, obviously, kids in your 40s was unheard of. And I think even now it's still, I think when you're over 35, you're considered a geriatric.
56:44Anna Williamson:Yeah, I was on my birth note. But obviously, we all know now having kids in your 40s is pretty standard. more people are waiting to have kids for travel work or just live life a bit before the chaos starts but new data out has shown that um more and more people starting families well into their 40 40 it's the fastest growing demographic i believe having the first baby in your 40s really yeah so our birth rate is declining we keep bleating on about i know we talked about this last week as well yeah um but people are having fewer children than ever uh so this was from the US actually the number of babies born dropped by 14 that's quite big isn't it it is so between which years lately what between which years between 20 1990 and 2023 it had dropped by 14 interesting um and we've seen that decline aren't we I don't think we've got it in our notes here but it wasn't there's been quite a lot to chat around Korea isn't it Korea and they've had different i think you know when we know when rachel reese rachel from accounts did the whole child benefit thing over here i remember seeing a lot around kind of comparables in different countries and i'm pretty sure korea um what north or south well oh sorry yeah actually good point i'm not sure um because every because you because but every country all the things keep changing don't they because you remember like china was the one child only rule and now they have a real that's a real broad statement yeah yeah but um a lot quite a few asian countries have a really uh what's it called elderly population because people aren't having babies but there's loads of old people because they're quite healthy you see so they live for a long time yeah so like there's tons and tons of like octogenarians and stuff but babies are few and far between yeah and i think it is really interesting and i think a lot of it um is you know a lot of it It can be cultural as well, as you say, depending on Alex's family in Italy.
58:43Anna Williamson:I think it seems to be more procreation going on over there, but I'm only speaking anecdotally from people I know there. There are risks. This is what this article was saying. This is what I will say. There are quite a lot of risks to having babies over 35 compared to having babies under 35. Increased risk of miscarriage, stillbirth, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, delivering a baby with chromosomal issues because you've had your eggs for so long that those eggs start to... Deteriorate. Yeah, I was about to say go off, but that's a better word. And then with that deterioration of the eggs, you do get chromosomal issues, things like Down syndrome and other chromosomal issues.
59:25Babies that are born small for their gestational age and risks of developing blood clots and things. but this then you weigh this up with the benefits of having babies in later life like you know most of these couples are in a better financial situation the babies are wanted and planned
59:44Anna Williamson:so I think that there are um and also life experience like I always remember talking to one of my very good friends she had um we were really good friends at the top we still are now but she had her first baby when she was 22. You were younger. Yeah, I was just 23. Yeah, yeah. And I was, so I mean, that felt like crazy to me, you know, just having a baby at 22. And then I went on to have my first baby at 35. And the difference in our experiences based on age we felt because she ended up, I mean, she doesn't regret at all having her baby young because she's now, you know, in her early 40s and got a 20-year-old.
1:00:25Anna Williamson:but but she's ended up but she to her point so she enjoyed motherhood then because she hadn't got an established career at that point yeah she really hadn't um and she she enjoyed that motherhood process and did that and now in her 40s she's actually now trained qualified and now she's she's got her own business now in her 40s because both her kids are now at uni and have moved out um and we're we're the same age you know and i've still got my babies you know one who's you know just coming out of you know bed wetting at night and i had my career well i still have it now but I had a very established career I traveled the world before I um had had the which is probably why I don't necessarily feel a lot of that itch now because I was very blessed to have gotten to tell you at 17 I've traveled the world twice over so I sort of and I'm and I've loved every minute of it I still got there's still life in the old dog yet but I don't have that but I don't have that insatiable kind of resentment that some people have they go oh I've you know I gave you know I never experienced life I did it all I then got married got pregnant and And I was like, I'm in a good place right now.
1:01:23Anna Williamson:I can sort of pick up and drop my career a little bit. I've got enough, you know, I'm okay here. Yeah, a bit of padding. And I can see that benefit. I think, I don't remember ever not having children as an adult. You've said that because you had a baby so young. I just had Dixie, yeah, I was so young. I was 23 on the 4th of June and she was born on the 22nd of June. And I just, I think the good thing about having Dixie is obviously I wasn't in the same financial situation I was in now, but I still had a business and had quite, I've always earned quite good money. So I was always, but you know, it was harder obviously when she was around.
1:01:59But I never really, I always had a lot of help though with my mum. Like I did go to Thailand and my mum had Dixie for three weeks.
1:02:08Anna Williamson:So did you feel, I'm curious actually, did you feel that you at the time were missing out on anything or even retrospectively did you miss out on anything? I didn't really feel that. The only one thing that I wish I would have had the chance to do that I never did was live in London in a house share with girls. I think I would have loved to have done that. Really, really. I did do that. Yeah, that is one of my big life regrets. Having that experience of just being totally free. Yes. Rolling in at 5am. Disposable income. Eating pizza with your girls. Getting the night bus. Yeah. Yeah, we did all that, yeah.
1:02:48And I did do a little bit of that because I was working in London from when I was 19, but I didn't ever live with another group of girls and stuff like that. And then I met Dixie's dad when I was 20. So I feel like that's my only regret in life is having that girly, because I am a girl's girl. Well, funnily enough, I had... Or just living like friends. Yeah, friends. I used to watch Friends and want that. And I think that's the only thing that... that I regret not doing. It's not like a massive regret. That was, actually, looking back at it now,
1:03:21Anna Williamson:I think, because my Alex has said that because he never did that and wished he'd done that to the house share. And I probably had seven or eight house shares in my, like, 15 years in London from 17 onwards. My first house share was with my brother and my cousin, actually. That was fun. That's slightly different. I tried it when I was 19, but the guy was a fucking pervert. So I swiftly moved out and into my grandparents. And he actually, I used to put this big old-fashioned telly and push it against my door. when I was 19 because I was worried about this guy and I kept going out with my boyfriend and he wouldn't give me a key to the house.
1:03:53And he said to me, you know, I thought when you moved in we'd be hanging out and going to the movies. And I said, it's rent a room, it's not rent a friend. And I only stayed there for a week. He frightened me. And then I moved out and went in with my parents, moved in with my nonna and my granddad. And then I never did it because actually he sort of put the heebie-jeebies into it.
1:04:15Anna Williamson:Do you know what? But I think you're right. I don't know. Mine was in like the early 2000s. And I was very lucky. I had some really good house shares. But I've unlocked a memory of one of them. I shared it with, I'm going to call them G and J, just the two guys. And I did mixed house shares, some with girls, some with guys. But what I loved about those two in particular, they were kind of like my brothers. They both worked in finance, actually. So they were hedge fund wankers. Do you know what I mean? They used to get their training. We lived in Wandsworth at the time. They used to get their training, you know, their finance.
1:04:43Anna Williamson:I was a little fledgling in telly. But they were like the two brothers. We used to have family tea, but they'd obviously be out on the piss because they worked in the city. But it was so nice. On Sundays, we might do a pub lunch in one of the pub lunches together, whatever. Yes, see, just stuff like that. And then one of them would come home, smashed us. They'd bring girls home, obviously. I'd bring boys home. We'd always look out for each other. And then you'd see this random girl in my bathroom going, that's clearly who Jay's just been shagging all night. And I remember one night, one of them would come in and they'd be smashed out of their fucking face.
1:05:12Anna Williamson:I always remember one day we'd woken up and then I heard the front door just go like smash. And one of them came in with a pizza box and literally fell face first over the threshold. So there you are at 2am picking your housemate up and he's getting undressed, his knobs hanging out. You know, and you're like, go and have a week. Thinking back to all those days, they made my own late teens and twenties. You know, you piss housemates. I had that in uni. We do that now though. We do it now, don't worry. We do it now. I had it in uni and then I lived with mates in the fallow years of me and Naomi.
1:05:48Anna Williamson:And that was, yeah, it was great. It's so fun. Sometimes me and my best mate Fiona were like, should we just live together again? We miss those years. Do you know what? Even though I have Naomi, I'm like, oh, we do really think that. They were good times. They were good times. I think, yeah. That's my only regret, guys, in life. Anyway, we've done enough waffling. Let's hear from you guys because it's time for It's the Widow of the Wehica Rachel, she says, hi Luanamo I've been branded a weirdo by my mates for years now so only fitting I'd write in and see how I compare to the other listeners My favourite snack in the world is a tin of cold chopped tomatoes I add some salt, eat them with a spoon like a little tin of gazpacho So savoury, refreshing and delish Highly recommend I actually could get on board this tomato tin tray It feels fresh, salty I like gazpaccio.
1:06:39It's a bit like tomato juice, isn't it? Just bitty. Just chunky. I can think of worse things. Can we talk about, I've actually forgotten to put the jacket potatoes on. We'll have a break of. So after this episode, I do need to go and put the jacket peas in the oven for our lunch. Right, Norman says, dear Luanna, straight man fan here. Yes. Hi, Norm. Woof, P in the V. Woof. Please give me a grander name like Norman.
1:07:04Anna Williamson:My dog's called Norman. I say, what? Woof, pee in the V. Straight man fan. Woof, pee in the V. I like the fact that our man fans who are straight always am like straight man fan. Or gay man fan. Or gay man fan. That you guys label yourselves, not us. Right, a few years ago I went abroad with a work project. I was due to be away for a while and lucky for me I got put up in a fancy hotel. Anyway, this hotel had a luxury I had seen before although never used. A bidet. You know I love a bidet. I thought to myself, when in Rome? And I gave it a go and I loved it. So much so, I would genuinely look forward to taking a dump so that I could then shoot warm water at my butthole.
1:07:49My arsehole front, brand new every time. This work trip came to an end and back home I came. I was in the shower thinking to myself how I missed that feeling of warm water fired at my bum hole. So I improvised. I turned the shower water onto hot, not warm, hot, and changed the shower setting so water came out in a narrow, high-pressure jet. So up went my right leg onto the side of the bath. I leant forward, then with one hand, pulled an arse cheek to the side, and with the other, aimed the shower head right at the target. And boom, I was back in business. The feeling isn't arousing. It is more like when you scratch a really satisfying itch with just a hint of tickle added.
1:08:31The trick is to aim for the front rim of the sphincter. That's the best spot. When I rotate the shower head around to get all the angles, if it lingers, it can, on occasion, make a noise so that my bum hull sounds a bit like a turkey goblin.
1:08:59Anyway, to my horror, a lump of poo dropped down. I was mortified. This never happened in my nice B day in the fancy hotel. I think it was the high water pressure combined with the hotter water that my bum wasn't used to. I stopped for days, but like a junkie, I came back. But to be honest, a bit of poo coming out didn't horrify me anymore. It felt satisfying as I thought I was getting a more thorough cleanse. It's clonic, isn't it? It's douching. Typically, it was like shitty snowflakes or fragments. I call these fragments shrapnel. I do, of course, thoroughly clean the shower should any shrapnel make an appearance.
1:09:36Anyway, am I weird? Love, Norman.
1:09:39Anna Williamson:I would like to say I'm a huge fan of a bidet. Massive fan. I can relate to this. My parents have a bidet in their house. Every time I go around, I do use it. I love that bidet, the little water jet up my bum hole. I don't do this, but I can get on board with it. Well, in Dubai, unlike the Middle East, it's so normal. Every toilet has its own little shower. And let me tell you, they literally are washing their vagis and their willies and their buttholes every time they go to the toilet. It does take them a long time in the toilet, but they're very clean people. I'm all about cleanliness. The Brits are filthy, you know.
1:10:16British people are quite dirty. we are filth bags we shouldn't just be wiping we should be washing so I've got a little shower on my toilet I'm never using
1:10:26Anna Williamson:that's why like people say like if you had like peanut butter on your arm and you just wiped it with like tissue paper yeah you'd have peanut butter you'd still be a bit peanut buttery wouldn't you you'd have to wash it with water I'm going to start washing I'm going to get the shower honestly I love nothing more than a proper bum cleanse and I think anything that promotes good hygiene is a win so that's not weird for me it's what was the other one oh neither were the tin tomatoes yeah but we've got to pick one because it's our first February weirder of the month well I'd well I'd probably go he goes quite far with the douching of his bum hole so I'd go we'll go with that one shrapnel bum shrapnel bum Norman and the shrapnel bum yeah Norman and the shrapnel bum just because he goes well done Norman on your level yeah thank you for your contribution Queen Carvania stood haloed By the morning sun, an army hung on her every word.
1:11:21My champions, I have sold my chariot on Carvana. It was a lovely SUV, an inexplicably queenly offer. They're even coming to the castle to collect it.
1:11:34Anna Williamson:Tonight, we feast. An offer you can feast on. Sell your car today on Carvana. Pick up these mail. Bye. It's that time of the week. Are we ranting or are we happy? I'm going to rant. Okay. And I don't want to offend any of my friends with this rant, but I'm going to do it anyway. She's looking at me. Yep. No, no, I'm not looking at you. Okay. I just want to announce. I know what's going on. Look, I am not an Airbnb. And people are like, do you know what? It's fine in Champneys too, because it's one night, it's two nights that people come for. Now, my problem is the amount of people that keep saying to me, oh must come and visit you in Dubai good for you yeah these are these are hotels that I recommend like it's not right people wanting to come and say like am I the asshole I'm just gonna put this out here right no am I the asshole for not wanting to put people up for like a fucking week at the time I have a life you do I have five horses in the UAE two kids in school shit that I've got to do I ain't got time to be putting you your kids your granny your bloody what else up in my house when I've got shit to do I'm not a rotating door of Airbnb it actually is quite annoying very and we and it's quite shocking the amount of people yeah go on have you had many people asking that quite a few not me by the way guys I just like to say I respect Lou and even ironically she said you'd be the one person I wouldn't even mind because she said you can look after yourself but I wouldn't even put it on you mate because it's too much my friend as you know lives in America she has the same issue.
1:13:12Anna Williamson:It's really, but I find it quite rude. I would never like put myself on someone. You would never make the assumption. You'd never even ask. You would wait to be offered it. It's quite shocking. Oh, we must come and see you. Yeah, like let me tell you hotels that are close nearby. And I'll see you for lunch. Yeah, and then people that even if they are there, they want to see you for like breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm like, do you not think that I fucking do anything? Because I'm not on holiday. I'm not on holiday this is where I live so I have shit to do the same shit that you do when you're in rainy England is the same shit that I do in sunny Dubai like it's not any different I still have to cook dinner for my family I still have to do kids shite go to doctors clubs ride my horses look after crumble my son so you know it's like it's really annoying yeah it's really annoying I think any I find it really rude.
1:14:11Anna Williamson:Well, I think anyone that lives in a place which is considered a destination, even in the UK, like I know people that, you know, Lake District, Cotswolds, Devon, Cornwall. As you said, there seems to be this sudden green light for everyone to invite themselves round. Well, let me tell you, it's red light in my house, okay? Don't fucking ask me. Not interested. Tell me when you're coming. Tell me what dates you're there. And if I can see you, I'll see you. Love it. I love that. It's a good rant. It's like, why do people think I haven't got, I'm actually one of the busiest people I know.
1:14:45Anyway, that's it. Good rant. You can come and stay if you want to. I was going to say, peace, but make sure you get that block out for me. Not with your husband and your kids, but I'll have to. No, I'll say, I don't want to bring them. Well, I do want them, but not at the house. You can stay in a hotel with them. But if it's just you, then you can come. I would never. I do love Enzo and Al. They love you. They love Aunty Lulu. They were asking after you yesterday, actually.
1:15:06Anna Williamson:How's the fish? The fish are thriving. I had to give away Indy's fish. They did actually want to come round. They were like, no, sorry to see you. They were like, want to see Auntie Lulu. I was like, no, you can't. She's mine. It's our time, bitches. Anyway, that is it. Don't worry, we will be back here every Monday and especially next Monday.
