In short

Luana the Podcast hosts rant and banter about morals and boundaries, then recap a busy weekend: attending Sam Fares’ Revive Collagen launch in Paddington (including meeting Mel B), plus family stories (Sam’s mum’s “shower hose” constipation/DIY colonic) and personal updates (Luana’s Parliament experience and a joke about becoming an MP by Thursday). They also give “Reco” recommendations and read listener messages about infidelity and relationship trust.

Guests (in-episode)

No named co-host guests appear; the episode is primarily Luana’s regular hosts (Luana/“Lou” and “Imo”/others mentioned) plus recurring figures like Crumble the dog, and family members referenced in stories (Sam Fares, Mel B, Sam’s mum Susie, Gaynor).

Key claims

Cheap screw-top wine causes hangovers; Mel B was pleasant but not chatty (working); Parliament debate was unanimous in support of a maternity commissioner; couples therapy is needed after infidelity because emotional trust is broken; postpartum hormones can affect emotional reconnection.

Notable examples

Lift-height phobia at the Paddington venue; meeting Mel B via security; Susie’s “twist it off… put it at your ring… squirt… lift the drain” shower-hose story; Parliament “nervous shits” in the toilets; listener advice on sexting/phone betrayal during pregnancy.

0:05Anna Williamson:Be warned, it's Luana and this podcast contains honest, upfront opinions, rants, bants and general explicit content. But you know you love it. How would you feel if your daughter had sex with Russell Brown at 30? It was really awkward and quite embarrassing. Yeah, yeah. It's Maybank holiday, bitches. Have a jig around the Maypole. I am now MP Lulu. It was wall to wall, stinking of diarrhea. If it's got a screw top, I'm not drinking it. And as if it couldn't have gotten you worse, when they opened the theatre doors to put me under for the operation.

0:50Anna Williamson:Good morning. Good morning. I think I'm laughing because... It's so bright in there. We are hanging out of our arses. and Lou is just being so sass. She's sitting here with her sunglasses on. My torpedo. I haven't got a bra on either, which is like the most unattractive thing. No, you've got good tits to be fair. Oh God, I need to have my boobs read them. No, you don't. I actually was looking at your boobs yesterday. When you were naked. We were naked together, guys. But when we were getting ready to go out, I was looking at your boobs and I was like, they're really good boobs. Really? Really good boobs, seriously.

1:22One's bigger than the other. He doesn't notice. I can notice it. And also this one. You've just got good nipples. I have got... You've got good nipples. I don't have like big burger nips. Burger nips, yeah. I don't like big nipples. Could I have a tissue please? I have a runny nose. Oh God, here we go. I've been waxing my nostrils.

1:38Anna Williamson:Oh, here we go. Hi guys, by the way. Welcome to Luana the Podcast, the shit show that continues every week. Headed up by producer extraordinaire, Imagine Rose at his heart. How are you? How's the cough going? Cough is better. Didn't you just cough then? Did I just cough? I think she did a throat clear Was it a throat clear? Right It's like you've got a tick I think it's a nervous cough You make me nervous guys Crumble's here He's like our therapy dog Crumble is here Bex earlier this morning You have seriously hyper fixated on the dog Oh you have You've gone into like ADHD hyper fixation You do yeah But that's okay It's your first time meeting Crumble I feel like you've not really like made a fuss of him Well, I wanted to let him come to me when the time is right.

2:27I love that. Exactly. That is actually the correct thing to do. Do you know what happened yesterday? Go on. To Crumble. What? I was in the nail bar. Yeah. Getting my nails done. I took him with me, obviously. Yeah. He's just fast asleep on my lap. Yeah. Sleeping. And then I do love my nail guy, Sam, and it is his business. However, he did decide to pick Crumble up by his neck. oh wow I was like don't pick him up by his neck don't pick him up by his neck obviously my hands were tied don't pick him up full stop and I was like don't he just picked him up like that by his neck um okay how did that go poor Crumble I think he was shocked he just did nothing he just sort of hung there oh my gosh

3:17Anna Williamson:oh he seems fine guys don't worry animal welfare we are all good It's fine, but Grumble did not want to go near him after that. Well, I'm not surprised. If someone picked you up by your neck, would you want to go back to the moment? Well, that depends who it was. Listen, guys, May the 4th be with you. It is bank holiday Monday. I hope you're all having a nice May Day bank holiday. In fact, it says here, as Emily's written, it's May bank holiday, bitches, have a jig around the Maypole. Do you know what we should do? We should go to my little garden bit where my wisteria is and we should jig around that.

3:52Do a diddly-dee. Do a little diddly-dee. A little Morris dancer diddly-dee. Do a little post today. I've got Crumble's got a bell. Get these. I swear I'm having... Don't waste the tissue. Okay, I'll do it then.

4:04Anna Williamson:In homage to it being May Day. You can join us on YouTube. Oh, shit. There we go. What's all that shit you've got over there? I've got a whole situation over here. This is my SOS situation. I've got lip balm, hand lotion, dash, the coffee thing you made me, glasses cleaner. I've got crumble treats, which I've cut up into little squares. This is great content. This is great. But anyway, how is everybody? Now, you might be wondering why we're hanging. So last night, so let's fill you in. So Sam Fares, friend of Luanna, is quite honestly a bloody amazing boss bitch. Isn't she? Like she's created this amazing brand.

4:49Anna Williamson:She's conquering the world. Yeah, this Revive Collagen. Those of you that know Sam, obviously off TOWIE, but now just like way so much more than that. And she did a launch. She's left TOWIE behind. She has. She did a launch last night where Mel B is one of the new brand ambassadors. An actual Spice Girl. Actual Spice Girl. Mel B is now 50. Can you believe that? Was she there? Yes. We got a picture with her and everything. Oh, well, so this is why. I mean, we obviously were there for Sam, but Mel B was there. And we were like, we don't go out, as you all know. We were very excited. Yeah. No, and in the car on the way there, I said, I've been working in this industry now for like 13 years and I've never met a Spice Girl.

5:25And I've been like... You've not? Well, I've been at Elton John's house and Posh Spice has been there, but I didn't interact with her, so I can't really class that. You can't really class that. As meeting. But that's the closest I've ever been.

5:36Anna Williamson:And like, who was it? Because I've sort of met all the Spice Girls, but not... Then Anna was like, yeah, I haven't either. And then she went, well, actually, I've met Emma Bunton. Oh, and Jerry. Oh, I'm Mel C. Oh, I'm Mel B. Oh, and who's the other one? Posh. And Posh. And I went, so you've basically met all the Spice girls then. But I wouldn't say in a social set. Like, well, Baby Spice, because I always wanted, she was my favourite, obviously, Baby Spice, you know. Because you were blonde. Yeah. But she's really good friends with Louis Spence, and I'm good friends with Louis Spence, so I've met her through Louis.

6:07Anna Williamson:And then Geri, back in my kids' telly days, I interviewed Geri when she went on a, you know, just sort of met them all. But it was very nice. She only wears white now, Geri. Does she? Yeah. Like, that's her thing, is it? It's her thing. She only wears white and creams. Very virginal. If you look at anything of her, she's always in white and creams. Ooh. Yeah. Very Angel Gabriel. Yeah, she's sort of rebranded. Well, anyway, we went to, so we got in a sherbet last night to go up to London. And when we got there, so we were like, where are we going? And it was in Paddington. It was really...

6:42Anna Williamson:So why is it, right, why is it that Lou and I... and I can never do anything with grace and actually to be fair, Louisa can. No, it's you. It's me. I lower the tone every time and I try, right? I do try. I don't know how hard. Well, probably not that hard. So we get to this lovely venue in Paddington and there's this lift and it's one of those nice sort of, you know, Charlie the Great Grass elevator, you know, ones. So, but I didn't realise that this gaff's up there. So we get in the lift, the two of us, like, where are we going? We're going to the launch. Oh yeah, well done ladies, off you go, madam.

7:15Anna Williamson:you know off we go I'm chatting away in the lift I turn around and I look at Anna and she's like hunched over in the corner of her hair is all around her face I went what's wrong with you I was like facing she went it's very high it's very high I can't look outside I can't yeah she's got some weird lift phobia well I didn't realise I did then Lou's going oh look at the beautiful view of London and she's like what's wrong with you and I was like it's really high it's really high she was like turn around look at I was like I can't I was trying to let her get over it Well, I didn't realise that, so I sort of went into this, like, freeze.

7:48Anna Williamson:So I was just staring at the... She's like a little turtle. And she was in a green leather dress, actually. You reminded me of a little turtle, hunched over in this dress. But then to make it worse, so that the lift doors open, I am still in my fight, flight or freeze moment, clearly. And as the lift doors open to this very bougie, you know, there's security, there's people there to welcome cameras. So the lift doors open. I then proceed to exit the lift, looking like I've shat myself, like crabbing out of the lift. She turned out of the lift and all these people looked at us like she was fucked.

8:27It was really awkward and quite embarrassing. And then we had to be like, oh, she's got a phobia of the heights.

8:34Anna Williamson:It's the phobia of the week. But anyway, it was very fun. Then we got there. There were lots of nice people. obviously Sam's family which was lovely minor rant though go on cheap ass wine oh go on get that this is why I've got sunglasses on because the lights in the studio are so bright oh the rosé has hit hard this morning girls we're not going to lie I don't I don't really drink wine anyway and when I do for this reason but even if I drink expensive wine I still get a bit of a hangover but cheap wine if it's got a screw top I'm not drinking it it's age but it's age we can't drink wine we've reached that time in our lives now where we just can't drink wine and then function.

9:12Anna Williamson:Oh, vial. And now I feel like shy. Absolute dog shit. But the great thing was, guys, we did meet a Spice Girl. We met Mel B. We forced our way through the back door where she was like being hidden from everyone. Like securitied. And Sam did say we could actually, and then the security tried to kick us out. And then we were like, uh, and then Sam came over. She was like, they're with me. We're like, yeah, yeah, Sam fares. Like we're allowed in here, actually. and then we got a picture we don't have the picture though message him again I think I overdid the messaging Zach is Sam's photographer very nice man very good looking he took the photos he was like don't embarrass yourself Anna with your selfie camera I'll take the official photos and send them to you I feel like he's probably got more on his plate this morning editing last night's launch pictures I suppose it's only been like 10 hours since we got in And it is early morning still.

10:08Anna Williamson:But we did see Mel. Like a fly on shit, Lou and I were bustling our way through, pushing past the influencers. We didn't really talk to her, though, did we? I wouldn't say she was that chatty. She was very pleasant. But I guess she was there to obviously do a job. You know what it's like when you're at work. You don't want to make friends. What we would like to say is we're lots of very nice, lots of lovely friends I've seen as well in the industry, which was nice. But also Suze, right? So a little mention to Suze. Sam and Billy Fair's mum, Susie. I love her. She's an absolute ledge. Susie, I would like to say, is probably one of the diehard Lufanians, right?

10:45Yeah, and Susie is proper Essex. Her accent, she is just Essex through and through. Through and through.

10:51Anna Williamson:There's more vowels that she's invented just in the way that Susie talks. It cracks me up the way she's like, It's all right, girls, how are you? And I'm like, hi, Susie, it's so good. We love Suze. She's such a mumma. She's great. She's so much fun. I've had some great nights with Suze and we've been really pissed. But anyway, she went, oh my God. That story. That story with the arse, the shower up the arse. Yeah. She went, I saw that. I was cracking up. Yeah. I went, where are you? She's like, oh, it's so funny. So we were really laughing about that. I can't even say the next bit because if Sam has a go at me, because we've mentioned this I'm letting you be the fallout girl here.

11:33Would Sam be annoyed? Well I don't know.

11:35Anna Williamson:Well do you know what? Suze is her own person and I expressly asked Suze for her permission. She did ask for permission. I was like honestly Suze can we mention this on the phone? She went yeah of course you can. So basically Sam's mum then went oh that story was so good and then she went well hard relate. Yeah hard relate. She went because I've done it and I was like we were like beg your pardon Suze. But you don't put the whole head up. No she went you've got to twist it off. Twist it off. She went turn the little the shower bit. She went, when I've got constipation, she said, I take off the little, the actual bit that the guy put right up his butt.

12:07Anna Williamson:I just love her. Yeah, and then she went, and then I doof myself. You put it in the ring. Put it on your ring. Put it at your ring. Yeah, and you give yourself a bit of a squirt. Give yourself a good squirt. And then she went, and then I lift the drain up off my shower. And I shat myself in the shower. And then it just all goes out. And you know, girls, your stomach, your stomach, you're going from being bloated out here down to here. Down to there. Now, we wouldn't recommend this to everybody. Suzy's not a medically trained professional. Suzy Wells is recommending that. But it works for her. It works for Suzy.

12:35Anna Williamson:And then we said, well, so she did say, well done, she did say we could talk about it. Yeah, she was like, we're a hard relate over there with the shower hose. She was like, I saved a fortune on that. Yeah, she did. Saved a fortune. She saved a fortune. Not having to get a clonic. Yeah. So that is that. We now know that Sam and Billy's mum do she's in the shower. Well, actually, I believe it's quite known within the family because then Suze did go up to both the girls at one point. She went, I've just been telling the girls, as in us, about me and my shower hose. And then Billy was like, all right, yeah, the one where you put up your ass.

13:06Anna Williamson:She's like, yeah. So it's clearly a thing. It's clearly a thing. And then she tried to bring Sam into it, but Sam was in like boss bitch mode and probably didn't want to hear about her mum's homemade colonic at that point. But a wonderful family, a wonderfully supportive family. I got Gaynard, Sam's mother-in-law. Love Gaynor. Gaynor, I actually really like Gaynor. Love Gaynor. She is a proper East End girl. You'll remember. Stepney. From Stepney, girl. Stepney. You'll know Gaynor from... She's now living in Chelsea. Is she? Yes, she is. I went, oh, Gaynor. She said, yeah, I'm in Chelsea now, babe.

13:40I said, oh, she said, I love it. I've made loads of new friends. Oh, she did say she made new friends, yeah. She's made loads of new friends. She was on the Rob. I said, you do know that you could probably get all this stuff anyway. She went, this bag, it fits a lot in it. She'd taken all the...

13:54Anna Williamson:All the collagen samples. She was decanting the flower vases. The flowers? She was leaving. On the way out? She was leaving with armfuls of flowers and the water dripping out. And I said to Sam, I said, do you know your mother-in-law's, Robin? She went, oh, she loves it. Every event she does that. Yeah, that's Gayna. Do you know what? But that's a real Stepney girl. I had a thoroughly lovely chat with Gayna and a very nice lady. So we had a great time. We are hanging out of our backsides. But other than that, we are bringing you another fresh Luanna.

14:24Anna Williamson:What else is this talking about? We had an exciting Luanna day the other day. Just us. Just us. Nobody else, Kate. Can we just, like, say? Can I say? No. We weren't invited. You were. When? Oh, Bex is... Bex is not invited. Would you have come? Yeah. For the Great Shed debate. Maybe, if I was free. You wouldn't have come. If I was free. Well, she would have used it as an office day, so she probably would have come to you. Oh, we should have invited you. Oh, guys, that wasn't a deliberate non-invite. I thought we invited you. I thought we had as well. Because Sam couldn't... Maybe it was just in our group with Sam.

14:58I think Luke might...

15:00Anna Williamson:No, it makes his mic, but that's okay. We can translate. Lou sent a pissy email about it. And then we all ignored that because we thought that you were interested in bad news. Oh, Lou sent a pissy email about it. Did I send a pissy message? Yeah, no, I did. I did. I fucking sent a message in the group and was like, guys... Or was that just to you, me and Sam? No, it wasn't. I was. So, actually, you were invited. What? Was there a date mentioned? No. I just said, I'm not doing it on my own again. And nobody came forward. Well, there was no work. You did. I overachieved. Yeah, the business partner stepped up.

15:38Anna Williamson:Well, okay, listen, next time we do the big shed clear out, you are all invited. Well, hopefully it's going to stay really clear. I did send a bit of a pissy message. Sometimes, guys, I do get a bit grumpy. and I just... You like to vent. They all ignore me. Yeah, but that's fine. You have an outlet. Have we spoken about the fact that you all just ignored my... Did we talk about this? Yeah, you've done that. Yeah. Yeah, see, they just ignore me and then they wonder why I get pissy, guys. Sometimes it's good just to... Because I'm just ignored. I'm like an insignificant being. And my name is actually at the forefront of this brand.

16:12Lou. Lou. First. Yeah.

16:16Anna Williamson:I'm first. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm ignored. That's the worst, second the best. All the team with the hairy chest. But we did have a big shed. We've got a shed. Yeah, we've got a Luanna shed. It's very exciting. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I did not enjoy. We roped in Nanny Natalie, who found an actual frog. An actual, you know, Anna's got a failure of a frog. I mean, a lot of phobia. It's the phobia of the day. You've got a lot of shit going on. That fucking turtle head lift thing you did. Yeah. The frog. Oh, yeah, the frog. Well, she found the frog, but then being the absolute bastard that she is, she then ran after me with the frog.

16:50Anna Williamson:I then, in my fearful haste, stacked it into a load of stone pillars. And I now have the worst bruised shin you've ever seen. But anyway, we have a shed. Nothing else to really say other than that. We've got a shed. But it was really exciting and I'm really proud of that shed. What? Okay, toes are going down. Because they go in front of my face, don't they? Oh, I can see now. She puts, you block my face with your weird toes. See, she's upset today. You said last night, you went, I see your toenails growing back. Okay, your toes are nice, but it is deformed. Well, yeah, I know, but you know what?

17:26Anna Williamson:We can't be toe-ist nowadays, can we? Well, people won't want your feet as much as they used to. There's a market for everyone, and deformed feet, I'm telling you, that's a growing market. It's an emerging market. It's emerging. Anyway, I've got something, just quickly as well, because I have had a few messages about this because the other week, you know, I was prattling on about me going to Parliament. Yes. I did the Parliament around... Was that the birthing thing? Yeah, the birth trauma, getting a maternity commissioner. It was very, very highbrow. Did you get commissioner? Because I've got someone for the job.

18:01Anna Williamson:Who? You. Me. Yeah, I was going to say, you'd be brilliant at it. Well, I'm going to put you forward for it. So I went along with Louise Thompson and Theo Clarke, who's the MP that's kind of bought this. Why don't you ask Carrie to do it? She'd be good. Kaz Jazz would be brilliant. She's got a background in politics. I did think of Kaz when I was in there. She's got four children. She must have had some trauma around having a child. That's true. I think, I don't know actually. I don't want to make things up. Let's not make things up. But it was really good. It was a really amazing moment. And also, it's the first time, I mean, why would I have previously, but I've never been in a parliamentary debate.

18:41Anna Williamson:and it's really, really interesting. So we turned up to Parliament. Can you smell that? I can smell like... A bit uriny. I think it's the dog's yak bar. It's making me feel sick. Ew. I can't take it off him. Get her a sick bucket. Because I love him so much. What I would say is when you go to Parliament and you have to go through the airport security thing and it was the same day that... It's making me feel sick actually. Oh, you're heaving. Do you want a bin?

19:09Anna Williamson:Oh, hang on. Oh, oh no, she's actually throwing up. Don't you dare throw up in front of me. Oh, oh, oh no. Oh, oh, oh, now the... Oh my gosh. She's actually throwing up. I don't know if you can hear her in the background. Oh no, now the dog's upset. Oh gosh. I mean, I will, I will tell you about my... It's okay, Crumpy, come here, come here. Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. Mama's here, Mama too. Are you okay? Yeah. Okay, relax now, babes, relax. Anyway, so when you go to Parliament, you go through all this like security guff, basically. So that, you know, obviously they may... Oh, go on, Crumbie.

19:52Anna Williamson:You're not going to do anything bad. But what I will say about Parliament is clearly it is a place, a hotbed of... Security. Well, no nerves, I would say, because as we're gearing up, there's kind of like the toilet situation, you know, getting there, I was like, I need to go to the loo, you know, get myself ready for parliamentary debate. And I'm imagining now, guys, that there's a lot of people that are freaking out. You're right. Going to be sick still? No. No? Fine. That are freaking out about whatever they might be doing in Parliament. Because I went in those Parliament bogs. Yeah. And let me tell you now, it was wall to wall stinking of diarrhea.

20:27Anna Williamson:Oh, no. Absolutely. The nervous shits. Yeah, the nervous shits. And you know that smell of explosive diarrhea. I went in there and I was like, damn, this needs a Febreze. Like it was, yeah, bad, bad. So, yeah, a lot of nervous poos in Parliament. But anyway, went through. It was a three-hour parliamentary debate. It was very interesting how it works. Three hours? Yeah. Oh, I couldn't have done that. Oh, you couldn't have done that, Lou. What are they talking about for three hours? Well, that's the point. So basically, every MP that's interested in it and wants to say something, and they'd all gone to their constituencies.

21:01Anna Williamson:What they go. Yeah, and so then you've got the Lord Speaker Man. Yeah. And is that the same Speaker that, like, did you kick someone out the other day? Oh, that's, who's the main dude? Oh, no, she's really got the heebie-jeebies today. But it's really interesting. And basically all the MPs from the different parties stand up and they kind of put forward their thoughts from their constituents, whether they're in it for, basically, it was unanimous. Every single MP from every single party completely was for this, getting a maternity commissioner in place, which was amazing. So it was, and well done to Louise Thompson, to be fair.

21:39Anna Williamson:Is it her spearheading this? Yeah, it's really good. They were the one that put the petition out, which as a result of the petition, it had to then be debated in Parliament. And it was really, really good. And it was such an interesting process to see how it works. And actually, you know what often we talk about in here and we say there's so many fannies about in Parliament, but actually it was really heartening to hear some of these MPs get up and really actually put their money where their mouth is. Let's hope something's done. Yeah, let's hope so. I tried to start a petition once. What was it for?

22:07To not be allowed to fly drones over private property. I mean, it's niche. Do you remember that somebody else had started it of the same thing, and they hadn't got enough signatures. And if you've got, you can't have two of the same petition running. And their one, so my one didn't get approved because their one was active. But I feel like their one's not active anymore. So I might bring my one back, actually.

22:32Anna Williamson:I think you should, because I also think you'd really enjoy then if it gets to Parliament, which I reckon you could easily get that. I reckon I could easily get 100 ,000. Right, I'm going to start my petition again. Everybody that listens to this podcast, there's over a million of you bitches, need to sign my petition. Well, let's get it up and running. Should we do it? Yeah. And you know what, Bex? We can clip up the unseen footage of Drone Boy. Let's get that petition running. And I can talk about my stalker, legally now. because the NFA no fucking action it actually means no further action but I'm calling it no fucking action this is good from the police this is maverick just a quick one on the debate thing if you did get this through I think where you might struggle because I definitely struggled is when they do the parliamentary debate we can't fucking say anything what do you mean?

23:28Anna Williamson:well because when they're getting up and they're saying things there's so much but why can't I be in the debate? you're not allowed to be because it's just MPs. It's very strictly controlled. Well, I'll become an MP then. Fine. So Louie's also becoming an MP. I'll become an MP. If I'm going to Parliament, my fucking petition, well, I'll just make myself an MP. I'll just talk to Boris. I'm sure he'll help me. He'll put a few strings. He can do something, surely. So what we've garnered from today, guys... I mean, I know Lord Alan Sugar, Bojo. Yeah. Well, it's a shoo-in, isn't it? It's like having two...

23:57Anna Williamson:Curry. It's like having two Soho House referrals. There you go. You've got two people to get you into the big dogs. Well, I will just become an MP. There's no way I will sit there and not say anything about my own petition. Well, how can you not even introduce it if it's your own petition? Because your MP has to do that. This is what I found so interesting. And if you even squeak, you'll be thrown out. No, I would start revolting. I'd be like Guy Fawkes then. I'd start fucking blowing the shit out of that place. I'd be like don't you chuck me out of here I would quite like to see you frog marched outside out of parliament I think we could all enjoy that well so I think we've all established today that Louisa is becoming an MP she's a bit late the elections are in matter of days it's fine Emma we'll just rush it through listen I'm like fucking Moses mate I can plant water I literally so you've got till Thursday to run a campaign to become an MP and be elected She can do it.

24:59I'm sure there's some... But Bex will do a post. And I'm sure there's some AI programme that I can make people vote for me. I can hack the system. I'll get some Russian hacker.

25:10Anna Williamson:As I said, you've got to Thursday to become an MP. Can she do it? State should contact. Yes, I can. Yes, you can. There's no such word as can't. Let me tell you, self-belief is what's carried me through my life. and that is it. I am now MP Lulu. The MP for MP for Chamneys 2. I'll just create my own bit of land here and give that its own constituency. Then I'm not against anyone else. So automatically I become an MP of Chamneys 2. That's it. What would your party name be? What would your party name be? What would your party name be? Don't be a c***. Brilliant, there it is. That's the post of X.

26:04Join my no c*** party. And on that note, love that.

26:11Anna Williamson:Shall we move on? How to become an MP by Thursday. Interesting. I might message Boris Johnson. I've got his number. I think I've got Bodge's number. Well, Kerry can pass it on if not. Boge, give us a heads up how do you become an MP? Yeah, we'll get him on the podcast. Well, he can help me. Never did I think we'd start today's episode with deciding that Lou was going to run for an MP and has four days to do it. Then I might become the President, the Prime Minister. Could you imagine Lou being the Prime Minister? I did a better job than Keir Starmer. Wet blanket. You quite liked him last week. Did I?

26:48Yeah. I've changed my mind again. Brilliant, of course she has.

26:51Anna Williamson:Right. Hypocrite. Hypocrite. That's the answer. I've just realised, oh my gosh, we are missing a trip with our branding. The hypocrite and the hypochondriac. Get it in. There it is. There it is. I mean. The hypocrite and the hypochondriac. The hippo and the hippo. Hippo and the hyper. While we're talking shit. We blame the screw top rosé. Right, let's move on. It's time for. It's the record circle. The record circle. It's the record circle. Oh, did you like that song, Crumble? He's got that stinking bone in his mouth. Right, Reco, who wants to go first today? Go on, Lou, you go first. Yes, I will.

27:33Go on. So I've been talking about this mostly on my equestrian Instagram account, at Louise Zisman Equestrian. A lot happens over there, guys. If you don't follow me, follow me now. Basically, but this isn't just for horses. this is a general hair spa recommendation. So, you know, I've really got into self-love recently. You have been upping your beauty game, I'll be honest. So you are drinking my, I'll do that in my next one next week. All right, nice. But anyway, basically, I just want to recommend for like really good hair is that, especially for a horse's mane and tail, you do a double shampoo, condition, hair mask.

28:14Can you smell it? Yeah, I can smell that dog bite. Hair mask, leave on for 20 minutes. Is this for a human or a horse? Well, both. Oh, both, okay. I started it on the horses and now I've been doing it on myself. And it's for human? Well, it's for human stuff. The stuff I use on the horses is because, you know, you get ripped off with these equestrian brands. Yeah. They rip you right off. And you can just use the same shit. So anyway, hair mask, 20 minutes, rinse it out with tepid water and then put oil, rosemary oil, and just leave that on then. Love it. So, and the brand is? Well, it's all different ones.

28:49Anna Williamson:So it's just, this is your self-care routine. This is the hair spa routine. For doing a hair spa routine. Yeah, and I just, yes. It's worth saying, I'm having a Luana storefront. Oh, so right, Bex just said, we have a Luana storefront now, guys. We have a Luana storefront now. Thank you, Bex. Oh my God. Imo's just giving us the look of, look at us. So we can put this on my, on my, on our Luana storefront. Link in bio, link in bio. But basically, if you are horsey, we do have a lot of equestrian followers. I cannot recommend doing this on the horses enough, especially because when you put the rosemary oil in their tails, the mud and the shavings don't stick to their tails.

29:27And we all know that you shouldn't brush a horse's mane and tail too much because it rips the hair out. But you can do this on yourself, on your horse. I actually do double wash crumble and I do condition him as well. He is a fluff ball.

29:42Anna Williamson:Okay, so the hair spa stuff, Lou will give all those links and that can go on the Luana storefront. Excellent. Thank you, Lou. And also just a bit of self-care. Yeah. It really makes you feel good. Like if you feel like you're just like burnt out, you're that mum, you're doing everything for everybody else. Feel like a prune. I can really recommend just taking like an hour out for yourself once a week. Every Sunday I have a little love myself. I do it, yeah. evening and I sleep in my collagen face mask. Well, I used that Medicare mask. It was excellent. How good? Very, very good. Did you sleep in it or could you not sleep in it?

30:16No, I couldn't sleep in it. It was very good. Yeah, Bex doesn't sleep in them either, do you? Very, very good. I can sleep in it. But even if you're just doing like a cleaning on a Sunday, whack it on in the morning. Leave it on for as long as you can till it goes clean. Honestly, I'm doing a lot of self things.

30:33Anna Williamson:Self love, self love. Love that. Excellent, Lou. and also can I just say a lot of you guys do seem to be loving Reco Seco you're also jumping on board on the Facebook group but also people I've seen out and about go oh I've looked Imo all of your Recos like your pods and your books people are like absolutely loving it well what's your Reco Seco today Imz? My Reco Seco is a television programme oh it's called The Pit oh sounds deep it's on Now TV slash HBO Max oh that's where I've got your login still good Yeah, and it's essentially a medical drama. And it's one of the best things I've seen in a long time.

31:15It's done by Noah Wiley, who was in ER many, many years ago. I'm one of the producers from that as well. And basically, so like the first series is 15 episodes, which is quite nice. but it's set in like one the whole series is set in one day in an ER in America and each episode represents like one hour during that shift

31:43Anna Williamson:so a bit like 24 but not oh I loved 24 with that hot guy Kiefer Sutherland oh I like a bit of Kiefer Sutherland is he in this? he's not so The Pit The Pit. It's real good. If you love a bit of medical drama, it'll be one for you. I will chalk that up because we love your recos. It's really good. Excellent. And then my recos echo for the week is a piece of clothing. It's a scarf, actually. I love this brand, Scamp and Dude. And Kate Lawler, friend who voiced that to me earlier. Sounds like a dog brand, Scamp and Dude. It does, actually. No, they do the most fab, like, hoodies and stuff. but what I love what they do it's called their super scarf and they team up with different celebrities to promote basically the most beautifully soft gorgeous scarves and this latest one Kate Lawler's lent her name to it and it's get all different patterns and stuff but they are just they feel like butter absolutely gorgeous but what I love is the messaging behind it is for every scarf that is sold they give one to a lady about to start chemotherapy and I think it's something like sorry this is slightly off but around 60 000 women um starting chemo like within a year i think is their stat and what they do is they donate and it's and it's essentially just wanting to turn what's a difficult time yeah into a into a slightly less uh crap time because obviously a lot of people especially with chemo if they lose their hair they might want to have a scarf for their hair whatever but it's but like from the fashion perspective it's one of the most beautiful scarves I've ever had.

33:24Anna Williamson:It's absolutely lovely. So from Scamp and Dude, it is a really gorgeous scarf. There's lots of different patterns. And also there's a lovely kind of charitable arm to it as well. So that is the Reco-Sirco. It's the Reco-Sirco. The Reco-Sirco. That was the Reco-Sirco.

33:41What do you do when your childhood is being shut down shop by shop and single women are officially done with men? You talk about it on Shouldn't Laugh But with me, Laura Smith. And me, Carmen Butcher. This week we're getting into all things bank holidays. And why caravan holidays might actually be the best kind of getaway. We're also talking a major dose of nostalgia. Because Claire's is closing stores and honestly, it's the end of an era. And Melania Trump is realising she should have stayed single the whole time. It's bold, it's honest and we're getting into all of it. Come and have a listen to Shouldn't Laugh But.

34:15Listen and watch on Global Player, YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.

34:20Anna Williamson:Right, messages. First up, message from Andrew. Shall I pick it? Ladies, man fan here. I listened with interest with regards to the lady that wrote in asking for your opinion on her partner having 19 photos of his deceased wife in their new home. I thought I'd write in my thoughts as a recently bereaved man. Oh, this is going to be really insightful. My husband died in December, so I'm currently getting used to my new normal. Yeah, we're awful to hear that, babe. As my therapist calls it, my new normal. Honestly, I personally don't see the issue here. Okay. The guy's deceased wife is part of his life and his new partner should understand that.

35:01Anna Williamson:If the photos give him comfort, then what's the problem? The house is just as much his as it is hers. Maybe I see things differently as a recently bereaved man, possibly. Maybe you would too if you'd been through what this guy has been through. In my or our home, there are photos of my parents, both deceased. my late husband's parents both deceased and numerous photos of both of us taken when we were making memories in the 17 years we were together this is such a horrible loss for you babe if anyone is uncomfortable with some of all of those photos then honestly i don't care love the pod andrew well we appreciate your opinion on that babe thank you get a lot of input on that ins or not so much not on email but i think there was chat there was chat about we'd like to know from that actually we'd love to know how that panned out for um for the lady the message doing but also Andrew thank you for that we really appreciate it and just sorry for your loss yeah sounds awful right we've got a message from Anon so Seema Cockardin

36:00Hi girls I'm hoping you can offer your opinion on my situation and maybe some advice please please keep me in on back in January 2025 me and my husband found out I was pregnant with our second child we'd been trying to get pregnant for a little while so I was super excited when it finally happened. Cut to March 25 and now about 10 weeks pregnant. We made pancakes for breakfast with our little boy who was having a great time decorating and of course eating them. All three of us were sat together on the sofa enjoying our breakfast and I was so happy in that moment. Look at our perfect little family.

36:34I couldn't be luckier or so I thought. What started as a perfect cosy family morning quickly turned into the worst day of my life. My husband showed me his phone screen so I could watch some stupid TikTok or something and then across the top of the screen came a message from another woman. I immediately asked him what it was. He said it was just spam to which I replied, show me then. I didn't for a second believe that it was anything other than a spam message and was just asking to see it to be nosy. I trusted him. But when he refused to let me see it, red flags immediately went up and and I felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach.

37:10Of course, I wasn't going to let it slide, so I grabbed the phone off him, and sure enough, he had been speaking to this woman very inappropriately. They'd been sexting all morning, even while he laid in bed next to me. It got worse the more I looked, and it had been going on for a while, but not just with this woman. There were loads of them. I could see it sent them photos on a different platform that had obviously been deleted, but no prizes for guessing what the pictures were of. He'd given his phone number out to multiple women, but I couldn't see any texts or WhatsApp messages on his phone.

37:43So they had clearly also been deleted. I was reading messages on TikTok, which I guess he'd forgotten to delete. I was completely heartbroken and felt like my whole life had collapsed around me. I kicked him out of the house as I couldn't bear to be near him. But of course, my then three-year-old saw the whole thing. And that's something that I feel guilty for every day. There's no chance to see their parents fighting, but it all just blew up in that moment. Cut to a couple of days later Me and my husband were able to sit down and talk about it all While our son was at nursery He admitted to me that it had been going on since December And he assured me that it was all just over message He'd never met up with anyone I'm still not sure I believe him on that one He's a chef so he's off and home very late So he has had the perfect opportunity to meet people in the evening without me knowing We spoke for hours going through it all and discussing where we go from here I told him that if it wasn't for the kids I'd be gone No questions asked but after lots of thinking I decided I owed it to my son, an unborn child, to try and fix things and stay together as a family and then at least if it didn't work out I hadn't just given up without trying.

38:44He admitted he had some personal issues that he needed to deal with and to my shock he did agree to see a counsellor. We both sought individual counsellors and worked through some things. Over the next few months he really did put in every effort into working through his issues and improving himself and I was trying my best to keep our family together and get over that betrayal and heartbreak. It's now been just over a year since I found the messages on his phone. We are still together and we now have a beautiful baby girl. My husband is doing everything right. He's been more affectionate, completely transparent with his phone.

39:15He's doing everything I ever wanted him to do before all of this happened. The problem is I'm not reacting to it in the way I thought I would. A year ago, I would have absolutely loved it if he behaved the way he's behaving now. He always calls me beautiful, gives me hugs and kisses without a reason, buys me flowers, the lot. but for some reason I feel like I've emotionally checked out. I will kiss and cuddle him but the butterflies aren't there anymore. I hardly want to have sex and sometimes find myself doing it just so that it's checked off and he won't ask for it for a while. I really don't know what to do.

39:45The thought of breaking up my family makes me feel physically sick. I can't do that to my children, especially my son who's old enough to realise what's happening now. I know people say that you shouldn't stay together for the kids but I don't feel like I outwardly show what's going on in my head especially when the kids are around. it's not as if I'm going around all doom and gloom all the time I'm okay but I just know that I'm not 100 % happy anymore I feel that everyone else is happy and content now my husband included and it's just me with the problem so how can I justify shattering my children's world for the sake of my own happiness I can't do that and besides I have no idea how I'd financially cope on my own either I guess my question is do you think it will get better will it feel like this forever.

40:26I'm genuinely confused about my own emotions. I do still love him but I'm not sure I'm in love with him anymore. I know he won't cope well if I left so that's also another reason why I just think it's better if I stay. I don't want to put myself last but I feel this is the only way to make sure my children have the best life and stable family. I would really appreciate your thoughts as it's nice to be able to get honest opinions on people who aren't directly involved with either myself or my husband. Thank you for reading this message.

40:51Anna Williamson:The first thing that comes to mind and as you say i'm deeply involved in the affairs uh genre um and infidelity is this is really common um when a couple have gone through infidelity but haven't actually done the reparation properly like so i think it's great that he's obviously gone to a counselor and he's obviously working through some personal issues and he is showing up um as a better in inverted commas husband but what is absolutely glarily missing here is that real work and honest conversation between the two of you it takes um a lifetime to build trust and a second to break it and he broke your trust in that in those messages and that was deeply painful and infidelity is is whatever you define it to be it isn't just physical it is emotional he he broke your trust he broke the bonds of a marriage of a committee relationship and you are finding it really hard to come back from that he's done the work which is great but you haven't done the work together and in my experience as a couples counselor when couples come back together through infidelity which can happen I have seen successful couples come through this but it only happens when there has been a full purge of everything you're feeling and all the emotions and she's checked out emotionally because she's put the wall up yeah so my honest advice to you my darling is you can come through this potentially but you need to have that honest um mediated platform to be able to say how you feel because you've basically emotionally shut down because of the trust being broken.

42:24Anna Williamson:So there has to be a lot more transparency around you feeling that. And I would honestly urge you guys to get some couple therapy, I think would really help you to potentially get through this. Yeah, I think so. Because you're holding in what you're really feeling. Also, I will say that you're, obviously this happened a year ago and you were 10 weeks pregnant when you found out. So you are still quite postpartum. And I do think that like hormonally, you won't be where you are anyway like that's a good point actually you know after I have babies I am quite emotionally detached because everything's just drained from you touched out so you know it does sound like you don't want to give up on your family and I wouldn't you know I'm all for leaving I mean I'm big pro leaving but I think in this instance as well being so postpartum I would I would wait and I would sit it out because you will change and your your feelings will change and your hormones are going to balance out and as you start to regain yourself independently after having that baby and we all know knocks the stuffings out of you having a child that you will start to feel happier in other areas as well and I think that that would then feed feed into this yeah so I wouldn't like shoot from the hip just yet because it does sound like he is really really trying and I think that when you start like readjusting after having a baby as well that actually your feelings will most likely change as well yeah i think that's great advice and i think really ask yourself i think that's really good perspective actually especially to say postpartum i forget how all over the place you are emotionally all over and we're not just saying it's down to that but i also yeah i think there's always the big part yeah it does you're so chemically fucked after having a baby you're not at your regular normal no and i think you're still obviously carrying around hurt and resentment towards him for what happened and i think there has to i think being honest about your feelings with that will be really useful and really necessary for him to also understand that because he might be thinking oh excellent job done i'm really doing really well and i'm not denying that he's not but it's clearly not working cutting through with you and and your emotion disconnecting i would honestly say some couples therapy i think just just to be able to purge this and to get to the root cause of this will actually help the relationship get back on track but to lose point i think yeah you need to play everything else is going on as well for you guys at the moment hang in there let's know how you get on um message from anonymous so sarah or sarah hi guys got introduced two months ago to your pod by my best friend well done do recommend us to a friend she says hey cursed if this makes the podcast it has i'm currently starting from the beginning oh wow brace yourself babs so all i get so many messages from people saying oh you just said that Elle's six I've just started and she's a baby you've just given birth.

45:11Anna Williamson:I can't go back to listen to those episodes I dread to think. I don't even listen anyway. I think I even had her on some records when she was a newborn didn't I? I think I even did in your old cinema room when you shit yourself with a fake tan. I didn't shit myself it was fake tan you've never let me live that down. Imagine if we filmed back then that was a fucking cool cut. That's when Norman slashed on the carpet as well. He's never lived that down either. He's never lived that down. We never forget. Crumble doesn't. They're all like elephants. Crumble doesn't do wheezes. No, but Crumble is eating something that is repulsive.

45:45Anna Williamson:Stop, it's his yak bar. Oh, it's making us yak. Anyway, she says, I'm currently starting from the beginning. Yeah, so I'm in your lockdown two at the moment. Oh, lockdown number two. Oh, lockdown era. The endless lockdown. Crazy memories. It certainly is. Those are the episodes we'll play back to our kids one day about this is what lockdown was like, kids. Got a cracking story for you. Had to message. Don't need to be a non, as I've told everyone already. That's what we like, babes. Oh, well, what a start. My partner nearly killed me during sex. Literally. I'll take you back. May 2019. I had an argument with my partner, and he buggered off out to his friends and ended up having a drink.

46:25Anna Williamson:After a few hours, the argument got sorted. And as you all know, after an argument, there's the make-up. Winky face. I'd gone to sleep before he arrived back around 1am. I woke up and the making up started. We were going for about two minutes at this point. Oh, I love a makeup shag. We were going for about two minutes at this point and suddenly I felt really wet. We're in the pitch black, so I wiped and carried on just so I was mega excited. But within seconds, it was super wet again. I got up, turned on the light and I realised very quickly there was blood everywhere and it wouldn't stop. Like at all, even after half an hour.

46:59Anna Williamson:So, oh, you're my girl. I had to ring 111 for advice. mortified. By 3am, I was in the hospital being checked. Four different hospitals searching my vagina. Four different doctors. Sorry. Where did I actually read that from? I'm like, in my dream world. Four hospitals. Four different doctors searching my vagina and not knowing what was happening. Another doctor came down and told me that I was going for an emergency surgery as my partner had perforated a hole in my vagina wall with his penis. What? How sharp is his penis? Or B, how thin is her vagina wall? Or C, did he have a Prince Albert? I mean, yes, you heard a hole with his penis.

47:42Anna Williamson:Oh my God. I lost a lot of blood and they had to get me stitched up ASAP. I couldn't believe what was happening. And as if it couldn't have gotten you worse, when they opened the theatre doors to put me under for the operation.

47:57Anna Williamson:She's there, legs akimbo. My long-term friend from school was there working. She couldn't stop laughing, but it weirdly... That's so impressionable. Oh, I last saw you in GCSE maths. There you are about to stitch up me vag. Because she couldn't stop laughing, but it weirdly put me at ease. Well, that's good. Moral of the story, stay asleep, don't have make-up sex. It doesn't end up well. Can't stop listening to the pod. Lou, you are my spirit animal. Bye, guys. Sarah, not Sarah. Oh, wow. I just want to know. I want to know how. Was it a massive knob? Was it like... I feel like we didn't get enough details on the deal.

48:30How does that happen? Well, don't know, but please let us know. And remember, if you've got a corking story for us and if you want to get in touch, you can email us, Luana. At everythingluana.com. You can also drop us a WhatsApp on 075-215-64640.

48:51Anna Williamson:Right, newsy bits. Russell Brand shenanigans. Now, this went viral last week. I have to admit, I've not really seen. it. Okay, I ended up going down a weird rabbit hole of, I mean we've all I think seen the viral clip of Piers Morgan who has his online show Piers Morgan Uncensored he had Russell Brand on and Russell Brand is currently facing rape and sexual assault charges from six women and he's going to be tried in court in October. In England. In England exactly. Because this all came out a little while ago. It did. And now he is currently and he's set up life in America now. He lives in America now He's doing all this press because he's got a new book.

49:31Anna Williamson:A new book, yeah. He's on a book tour. I was on a book tour. My bookie-wookie. No, different book. No, it's How to Be a Christian in Seven Days. Are you joking? No. What, is he now a born... Wait, hold on a minute. He went from My Bookie-wookie to How to Be a Christian in Seven Days. He's now like a born-again Christian. Very much so. He'd get on with Gaynor. She's a born-again Christian. There you go. Wheel of Gaynor in. Well, he's been a Christian for a couple of years, And this is where it all hooks on because there's a lot of scepticism around and there's a bit of a rabbit hole now on very well-known people that have seemingly, we're not faith bashing here at all by the way, but have seemingly clung on to faith or started to, you know, use faith.

50:14Anna Williamson:So Justin Bieber, Kanye have all very much suddenly become very into their faith when they've had times of hardship. But isn't that what faith is for? when there is times of hardship and people want to lean on something here they're in the debate lies because that's why a lot of people in prison they get really into religion don't they so we can't talk too much about this guys because we would be in trouble because of contempt because the trial hasn't happened yet so we will talk more about this after the trial has been concluded so we won't be offering our own opinion obviously on anything that's going on there but what we can talk about this and why is everyone talking about it because the clip of Russell Brown with Piers Morgan and Piers then challenged him around the Bible that he was carrying, which he then apparently took into court.

51:05Anna Williamson:And Piers asked him what was the verse that he was trotting out in court. And he said, oh, it's from Isaiah. And then it then went into the probably the most awkward two minutes of television ever. So the whole debate now and why this has gone viral is because, firstly there's a lot of people are going is this appropriate that Russell Brand is doing this book tour you know around his book how to be a Christian in seven days when he's got all his allegations going against him and then on the flip so then so on one hand there was this agonizing um bible thing couldn't find the bible verse and then to be fair to him he's just asked him to open a book which is what a thousand pages oh a bible is is is a very very long book so how is he meant to open the book on that exact page how you know if i said to them i really like this part of a book i'm reading and they went i'll find that find that paragraph for me i'd have to flick through the book i wouldn't know i'll automatically it's on page 402 but if yeah exactly yeah so bex has said if you'd written a book about that book so i don't know what i don't i just or if like you you've gone into court with a passage in the book that means so much to you that you're referring back to it to bring you peace in court maybe you would know where that is or there's a or there's a post-it note yeah if it means that much you people like recite all these verses so i went down a rabbit hole of comments on that because i looked at that and i thought this is interesting and i do come at this from because and i think what's really important on this is I don't believe, faith is a very personal thing.

52:48Anna Williamson:And I don't disbelieve that Russell Brand has faith. I don't disbelieve that he has found God and he's really into that. I don't. I think that's, as you say, people find religion at all kinds. I think the challenge people have is the skepticism around, but really, because now you're going to, potentially, there's a chance you might go to jail, you know, depending on how this trial comes out. We'll need that Bible if it goes to jail. And are you leaning on your faith in order to garner compassion and I'm a changed man type vibes when previously? Now, this Piers Morgan thing, I did actually watch pretty much all of it, and they were quite hot-headed with each other.

53:27Anna Williamson:And Piers really did try and hold him to account, saying, but in the past you said you're an atheist, so what changed? Yeah, he was big on being an atheist. Right, so what changed for you now? And Russell never really answered it, actually, and got quite cross and pushing back. And Piers could say, I'm just asking the question. No, you're not. You're looking for clickbait. And he was like, I am genuinely asking why. So it was quite an interesting thing to watch. And then when he obviously held into account around the Bible, I think to your point there, Lou, it's a real 50-50. Lots of people were saying, people who were fellow Christians saying, to be honest, looking for scripture is really difficult.

54:05Anna Williamson:It's tiny. The words are tiny and looking for a miniature verse. Like to be able to recall that. And under pressure like that. And under pressure. I actually don't think that's that bad. I found the, what I found was hilarious was how long they let it play out. But it is clickbaity the way they've even edited it with the timer. Like I couldn't open like a Bible and then find like something that's good. But then on the flip side, then I think on the flip side, so yeah, I take point of that under pressure and it's, you know, there's a lot of little words in scripture. but then on the flip side and as the girls just said here a lot of other people saying but however if you have used that absolute passage in court and it's a well-thumbed you know passage you would probably know where that is or you would have highlighted it or marked it in some way to recall so I think to be honest I'm with you in the sense that I don't I'm like it is what it is I think what has become clickbait about it it's obviously this agonising two minutes that played out between the two of them and this weird jousting match between them both on this But then into that as well, Russell Brand is on this sort of book tour.

55:10Anna Williamson:And then what also came out, it's off the back of him doing Megan. What's the name of the lady? Megan Kelly. Who is Megan Kelly? She's a talk show host, chat show host in America. So part of him doing this book tour, Russell Brand, he talked about how he did. He admitted to sleeping with a 16 year old when he was 30. And why, again, this sort of kicked off was in America, that would be illegal. Illegal, yeah. In the UK, not, because our age of consent here in the UK is 16. In most states in America, it is 17, I believe. So that's why it kind of garnered that. And Russell Brannan himself did admit words along the lines of it.

55:49Anna Williamson:This is not illegal what I did, but morally it was wrong. Because he was 30, the girl was 16. And he has, and even the Pierce thing as well, he does speak, whether one believes him or not he does speak very eloquently about um his behavior back in the day was repugnant repulsive morally wrong he's a father of three you know he talks about being in what he considers a proper marriage now but it did again bring that up um around consent around him being a sexual predator allegedly back in the day um and i think a lot of people have also taken umbridge with that i think for me i think it feels a bit if i'm perfectly honest with you i think someone who is standing trial for rape allegations i think it's a little bit crass to be doing a book tour yeah um at the time that those allegations are up in the air i think because it could go either way he might come out completely innocent but i suppose playing devil's advocate from his point of view he hasn't right he denies all allegations right so from his perspective why shouldn't he do a book tour why should he put his life on hold and his financial income on hold because in of in his mind false allegations that he didn't do and he's going to go to court in this is i'm you know from from his perspective because he's denying it all he's going to go to court he's done absolutely nothing wrong he admits to being you know morally wrong but not criminally which is a different but it is different you can't be hard you you you cannot be tried on your morals everybody's morals are very different obviously rape is illegal but he is denying that he's done that and until it gets to court and that's tried we can't pass judgment on whether he did it or not and i you know i just think you know this whole 30 year old thing sleeping in the 16 year old i don't but what i think is really interesting about like obviously it is legal um the age of consent in this country is 16 but at 16 under the law you are still seen as a child it's weird that isn't it because you can have sex like as a 30 year old you can have sex with a 16 year old but if they sent you a nude you'd be done for having indecent images of a child so right so like don't you think that's fucked up and you can't go to a pub with them and they can't drink so there's a really weird line where like you can sleep with them but you can't have a naked photo of them it's very very inconsistent and also what i didn't realize actually from listening to this is that even in america there are some states like russell brand i'm getting that impression guys in some states in america there's different there's different ages of consent there too some it is 16 some it is 17 i think that whole that's like a massive sorry such a gap in our laws because how can you but same in America if you had sex in one state he would be criminal no but I mean like the picture thing like you'd get done for child porn and then it's like but you can sleep with it like it doesn't make sense that's just such an illogical thing so I saw someone talking about how like that law about 16 year olds the consent being 16 like that law is for so like 16 year olds can have sex with 16 year olds and they won't be done but like is there a line is there like difference between that happening or firmly an adult a 30 year old having sex with a 16 year old but i think as well with that like but to your point lu it's i wanted to shag everything when i was a great area because there are so many examples of massive age gap relationships.

59:38Anna Williamson:Let's look at our beloved Celine Dion, you know, and her husband, who was her manager, decades older than her. And I don't know, but I assume nobody ever had a... Well, on her 16th birthday, they came out with their relationship. This is it, this is it. Which kind of indicates there was clearly a relationship before. Well, it's, I mean, exactly. We don't know that for sure. But I think to Russell Brand's point, and this is why it is so... inconsistent in that actually morally, as you say, a 16-year-old and a 30-year-old, he said he was a very immature 30-year-old. He may have been a very mature 16-year-old.

1:00:15Anna Williamson:It's not illegal. There was a lot of that interview I did actually watch and think he does, he's very articulate and he does create a very plausible and very, you know, a conversation which is open for interpretation. I mean, I actually know, I've talked about this on the pod before, but I am friends with one of his partners from back in the day. I probably shouldn't say any more than that. But he hasn't denied that his behaviour towards women wasn't appropriate in a sense of morally inappropriate. And I think the thing here is about legally. And I think it's an interesting one. It's a legal thing, not a moral thing.

1:00:58And I think that often like in our world of social media and media in general, you know, it's often trial by media. What happened to Philip Schofield? Yeah.

1:01:08Anna Williamson:Quote, unquote, it was an unwise relationship, but not illegal. Exactly. And yet, Philip Schofield got cancelled. And is that fair? Because the thing is, it's not, you know, it's, we all do things morally that are questionable. and some person's morals sit way up in fucking the sky and others are way on the... Here's a question for you. It's such a barometer. It's a barometer, yeah. You know, what's acceptable for one person and what's acceptable to another and that's why the law is there because the law is black and white. How would you fail if your daughter had sex with Russell Brand at 30? If she was 16?

1:01:48Well, I'd be a bit like... But it's not... it's not illegal. Do you know what I mean? I just think it's, you know, you don't really like to think of your kids having sex at all, do you? You know, but everybody lives their life, you know, and I've lived my life and I've had quite a colourful, you know, life, but I've never done anything illegal. Like I've done things where people will be like, oh, Jesus, that's a bit questionable. But I've not done anything illegal. And I just think we can't judge people based on our own morals. We can't. You can't have that judgment just because you think it's wrong.

1:02:29It doesn't mean that they then think it's wrong. Something that I'll do and something that you'll do and Bex, we will all do things on a very different moral barometer. Yeah, we don't have to like it. But that's why the law is there, because the law is black and the law is white. And it's either right or it's wrong in the eyes of the law.

1:02:45Anna Williamson:Well, I guess we will find out in October what happens. to Russell Brand. And then another quick story. This is really interesting. Yeah, I've seen this over the last couple of weeks. I think this is brilliant. Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK has been agreed. Which is so good. Very good. But they're all vaping now anyway. Well, they are, yeah. But kids aged 17 or younger are going to face a lifelong ban on buying ciggies as the tobacco and vapes bill. Oh, tobacco and vapes bill. Yeah, it's a bit of vapages as well. Both the Commons and Lords have settled on a final draft of the landmark legislation external that aims to stop anyone born after the 1st of January 2009 from taking up smoking by making it illegal for shops to sell them tobacco to create a smoke-free generation, which it should be.

1:03:31Anna Williamson:When it gets royal assent, ministers will also have the new powers to regulate tobacco, vaping and nicotine products, including their flavours and packaging. It's part of a series of measures aimed at tackling the health effects on smoking, one of the UK's leading causes of preventable death, disability and ill health. and vaping will be banned in cars, carrying children in playgrounds and outside schools and at hospitals. I always think about hospitals in particular and expanding smoke-free laws. Vaping will still be allowed outside hospitals in a bid to support those trying to quit. Interesting.

1:04:02Anna Williamson:But outdoor hospitality venues like pub gardens and wider open spaces such as beaches and private outdoor spaces are not included in the plans. People will also still be able to smoke and vape in their own homes. So, I mean, it feels a bit inconsistent, but equally it feels on the whole that we are massively clamping down. So are they not allowed to buy vapes either? That's what I'm... No, they are allowed to buy vapes. Right. It's just on tobacco products. Is that not... No, it's nicotine, isn't it? Yeah, it's not tobacco, yeah. It will mean that they can change, like they could stop people having like any fruity flavours.

1:04:39Right, just be like a bland... Blanky flavour. Yeah. Which I think would help. Or like they can change the packaging like they did on cigarettes and put like shitty lungs on the packaging.

1:04:49Anna Williamson:And less visible because vapes are so visible in shops. Yeah. And always on the counter, you know, at the petrol station. So they can do stuff around that to try and decentralize people to buy them. Yeah. I think it's interesting. I don't know about with your girls, Lou, but my Enzo, just the whole attitude around smoking and vaping. They're just hard nose at school. like it's good he's just like what the school are well yeah they have but just in culturally it just seems to be ingrained in the kids no it's not in Dixie they all vape no they all vape Clemmie and Indy do they have any thoughts on it or not have they not really not really I mean my mum's like constant chuffing at that vape so they see it all the time but Dixie's generation are very much they all bloody vape I'm always finding vapes taking them off her she's having a birthday party and she went mum you know there will be people vaping at my party and I went well they're not allowed she went but there's like 18 year olds coming she's friends with a lot of older children they're not children actually young adults she's 2010 she's turning 16 just after that she's yeah but she's friends with a lot of the sixth formers and all her friends are older and um the vaping is quite a thing you can't take it off the 18 year olds coming to the party and i was like i can it's my house my rules oh it's like going into someone's house but i'm gonna be a loser and I was like no my house my rules they come in they get searched I do I search them actually I say don't bring bags we found your scabies bucket your scabies farm bucket let's rebrand that Amnesty bucket yeah Amnesty bucket let's get a vaping free household well Amal Clooney makes everybody put their phones in a basket when they walk in her house does she yeah she doesn't like people using their phones in her house which is fair enough her house her rules your house your rules that's what I say to Dixie I say you can have the party and then My House, My Royal.

1:06:40Well, that's what she said. Do you want me to tell that lawnmower to go away? It's alright. There's a little lawnmower, guys. There is a lawnmower outside. You know, this is how we roll at Champo's 2. They're doing their work.

He'll then strip off and go on his tiptoes so he can dunk his William Baldwin water.

1:08:45Anna Williamson:Why not just have a shower? Why go to all these efforts? His explanation, it gives me more chance of getting a blowie. Can I just say there are so many guys that actually can relate to this because we all know it's much more enjoyable when it's clean. 100%. Obviously, yes. Is this weird or do other man fans I'm going to salute your man. I'm going to tell Andrew to do this. Well, you're going to say Alex. Keeping you as you're all amazing and bringing me so much laughter on my dog walks and car journeys.

1:09:21Anna Williamson:Well, the weirder of the week for me is definitely the tuna oil drinker. The washing of the William Bulls makes sense. Well, it's just considerate. it's just considerate.
