0:00Alright, so we're going to talk about how 92.7 % of Facebook posts are now dominated by this format. So don't sleep on Facebook because Facebook's making a comeback. And well, what is the format? Ding, ding, ding. It's Reels. And so I don't know why I said ding, ding, ding, but it's Reels. So Neil, I don't know if you've been looking at your Facebook. I've been checking my, there's a meta business suite iOS app that I'm using now. And I was like, oh, my reach is up because I'm just cross posting my Instagram Reels to Facebook Reels. The reach is up like 300%. So go for it. But the reach on Facebook for Reels from what I've seen is still not as good as Instagram.

0:38I don't know what it's not. But what's interesting is Facebook is basically becoming TikTok now. There's a lot less links. It's changing quite a bit. Have you logged into Facebook recently? Uh-huh, I have. You're totally spot on. Look, Facebook is the original OG, not really the OG MySpace was. But when you look at what they did, a lot of the stuff is old school. People don't want to see what their friends are interested in. That's part of it. but what they want to see is anything they would be interested in. It's not like on a daily basis I live my life being like, I only want to see what my friends are interested.

1:10In reality, you want to learn and see anything that would pique your curiosity. And these platforms have so much data on you, and I'm not trying to say this to creep you out, but they have a really good understanding of what they think you'll like that they can just show it to you. Even on Instagram. Dude, I love those reels. I don't know if you've seen them, where they break down entrepreneurs and how they've done things. Everyone's doing the story formats now. It's like really good editing and they're sharing a story. Is that what you're talking about? Yeah, but like Billie Jean started doing it.

1:44A lot of others are doing it. I'm not talking about like, here's Rihanna, she created Fenty and check out how she's made money. I'm talking about more like, here's the life story of Rockefeller and here's how he came about in business lessons to learn. So more of like the old school businesses, not the new stuff that you can actually the old stuff you can read online too. But some of the older stuff and them just taking the business concepts and principles. And they'll even have like stories on like, here's how so-and-so almost went bankrupt and what to learn from them. So they're not just like breaking down, here's In-N-Out Burger and how they became a multi-billion dollar company.

2:20They're breaking down like key lessons and takeaways to learn from specific people in history and what you can learn from that going forward. And that goes to show that storytelling will never die. That's how we engage with each other. The best storytellers usually you can see in a dinner party, everyone kind of centers around that storyteller because they're entertaining. And so usually they're the life of the party and that's totally fine. And so even in the world of business, even in the world of marketing, who's a great storyteller? Well, you think about Disney tells great stories that they're in the business of telling stories.

2:53And that's why they bought up Marvel and they bought up Pixar and they bought up these other companies. Apple tells decent stories as well. I'll look at them as a great marketing company too. And so if you can figure out really what it's about is where the puck is going. And so Facebook realized that it's hard. They're seeing the data with reels. They look at shorts, they look at TikTok. That's where the world is going. I don't know if you've seen this, Neil, but when I'm around people that are in their early 20s or so, I see them doom scrolling, not Instagram, but TikTok. It's just on and on and on.

3:21They're just scrolling TikTok. Like, by the way, I think that's really unhealthy. That's a whole nother thing. But it's just they do this and some of them, they don't sleep. I don't know if you know this, but they will keep scrolling into the mornings and like they'll scroll to two or 3am and this is their behavior. It's kind of crazy. I think it's really unhealthy, but that's a whole nother issue. That's a whole nother topic. Yeah. So anyway, our whole point here is short form makes a lot of sense. If you're doing reels, if you're doing TikToks, if you're doing shorts, just make sure you cross post to Facebook as well, because that's what Facebook is becoming.

3:52And if you're targeting an older demographic, well, then this is a good channel for you. And then upload the same reels to all the other social platforms, like even LinkedIn, people don't think about it, but you can upload short form videos to LinkedIn. Sure, it's a reel, it's a different format than you're used to seeing, but it works. We've seen it, We've tested it. It may not get as much traction, but you already created the content. So might as well cross-pollinate and then see what's working, see what's not. And from there, adapt. That's a good point. When you post to LinkedIn or even if you post to a Snap, sure, it might not get, let's say it got 10 ,000 views or 20 ,000 views on a shorts.

4:29And even if it gets 3 ,000 views on LinkedIn, that's 3 ,000 views that you would have gotten. So you want to look at it from a glass half full perspective versus a glass half empty perspective. Anything else? Nope, that's it. All right. Don't forget to rate, review, subscribe. It helps us grow more than you would ever know.
