Yeah. So what, what I'm going to go through, I mean, so long form, definitely.
0:47And also when we want to talk, when we want to talk about big rewards, when it comes to LinkedIn, look, I'm, I, I'm in a lot of these groups where these, there's people that have hundreds of thousands of followers on LinkedIn and there's these engagement groups, right? But what's happening in those is that everyone's sharing the link every single day, but people are engaging on each other's posts. And what I will say is that people are also thoughtful with the comments. So it's not just like happy face, right? It's just like, it's not just like nice post meal. It's more so, Oh, this was really impactful, blah, blah, blah.
1:16What's happening is that you're increasing engagement. Comments go a long way and likes, likes are, you know, comments are greater than likes. Reshares are the highest. But at the end of the day, when you are, it's a social network, like you're posting within the first 90 minutes or so, you want to make sure that you're engaging with the people that are commenting, because that's where you can get big boost engagements. And LinkedIn's actually, some people have done studies talking about how LinkedIn has really, or revealing the LinkedIn algorithm. And this is one of those big boosts. Yep. The other thing too, is when you're getting a lot of comments, right, as Eric mentioned, it's a big part of it.
1:50You need to respond to the comments, encourage more. So for example, I posted something on LinkedIn that's doing really well right now. And I talked about how content is not keen. And someone left a comment saying, which part of content is king says creating something or anything? That irrelevant, low-quality content can call itself king. So I'm going to end up responding with something like, I haven't written it yet, but most marketers have the mentality that content is king because you need to create it to get traffic. So they push it out because they believe that if you have it, you'll get traffic, hence content is king, right?
2:25So something like that. And the other thing, the example I gave you, I put at the beginning of my LinkedIn post, content is not king. That's a hook. You need to create an amazing hook. It doesn't have to be controversial, but something that just draws people in so they'll engage more and click the see more button. If they click see more, it also uses, that's a social signal for LinkedIn and they start giving you more love. Yeah, here's another example just to build on what Neil said. So let's say he leads with content is not king. And then it's like, well, let me explain what I mean. And then it's just like people usually will click the see more.
2:57that usually starts to get people curious, right? So that goes a long way. You look like you want to say something. Nope. Okay. Well, I want to show you Neil's, let's actually look because you're talking about your LinkedIn right now. So do you see this? So this is you, right? So he posted this two hours ago. It's already getting a good amount of comments already and then engagement. So what you can do, because Neil and I, we do a lot of shorts and reels. He's basically taking a short and reels and he's making it long form. and it looks like it's working, right? There's a lot of people that do this and they're getting a couple hundred likes or so.
3:33And look, Neil's actually getting a good amount of reposts and comments as well. So let's see, a goldfish has longer attention span than humans, okay, that's his hook, right? Both are important. But what we could do better here is we can arguably, we can ask for the engagement if we want. Yeah, you can ask a question, that helps. But what we found is we've been testing text without the video actually does better. We still choose to use the video because I want the personal connection and I want the branding from it as well. So we tend to choose the content. But we've tested. Text without the video in long form does better than with the video.
4:06Wait, say that again? Text without the long form? Long form text without the video from all the tests we've run, most cases, tends to do better. I don't know why. It could be the current flavor of the month with their algorithm. But we try to – we still use video. And the reason being is for the branding effect. because we feel text doesn't have the same brand effect as text with video. But yeah, we're testing it out. And you can use either one, but we've just seen more love if it's just pure text. Yeah. And the way we might do it for this podcast is, look, each episode is five minutes or so. We can post a whole five-minute episode and just give our thoughts.
4:44Basically, you're just repurposing a lot of your content, right? You can take your reels, your shorts as well. And I think when it comes to creating content for LinkedIn, you don't necessarily need to reinvent the wheel, especially if you're creating content in other areas. I think oftentimes, and sometimes I'm guilty of this, like, what should I talk about on LinkedIn? What should I talk about? It's like, well, if you already have content and if you have a point of view around it, just double down on that. You don't need to try to reinvent it every time. Yep. All right, so go ahead. That's it for today.
5:09Make sure you give us a five-star review. We really appreciate you guys. Thank you for listening. And check out this video over here if you want to continue learning marketing on YouTube. Goodbye.
