0:00All right, so we're going to talk about how to use BARD to come up with popular marketing plus business questions. Let me ask you this, Neil. Do you find yourself using Bard more than ChatGPT or are you using either at all right now? I don't use either as much as most people do because a lot of people are using it on a daily basis. I'm not. I'm probably using it two to three times a week. When I do, I find a better experience with Bard than I do with ChatGPT. Yeah, no joke. I usually open Bard first. Actually, I have a tab with Bard right now. And the funny thing is I pay$20 a month for ChatGPT, but for this podcast, we actually used Bard to come up with some topics.

0:39And we thought it would be easier because Bard actually, it doesn't crawl the internet in real time, but it's pretty close. It crawls recent news. And so we thought we'd share how we're going about doing it and how you can create content in general using this stuff. It's all about refining the prompt at the end of the day. So Neil, I guess I'll kick it off first because I came up with some of the ideas. So let me give an example here. I asked Bard, I was like, hey, what are some interesting marketing questions to answer on our marketing podcast for Q3 2023? So notice there, I asked specifically for the new quarter that we're in now as of this recording, we're in a new quarter and I'm trying to be specific to the quarter of the year, right?

1:20And here's what it said. And I won't say these are the best questions in the world, but it says, here are some interesting market questions you can answer in your podcast for Q3 2023. Number one, how can businesses use social media to reach new customers? It's like, okay, it's high level, but we can refine it a little bit. There's at least something to work with. It's given us like 60 to 70, 80 % and we can just refine the rest, right? I'll give you one more that we're gonna use here. We're gonna use the, how can businesses use data to improve their marketing campaigns? So how we might refine that is we might say, okay, how businesses can use first party data to improve their marketing campaigns, right?

1:52So we can get a little more specific there And that is what makes the content itself interesting. Because keep in mind, our very first episode for this podcast, when we started like close to seven years ago, was how to learn marketing. Dude, have you ever thought about asking Bard? And I haven't done this. Just asking Bard, what's the most common or most popular search marketing questions? Let's ask it right now. Because that can probably come up with more relevant, quote unquote, topics for us. Do you also know how old Bard's index is? This chat GPT is 2021, right? When it was last updated. It's like very recent, like up to a week or even a couple of days.

2:29Yeah. So here. Maybe it was this year. I just wasn't sure how recent it was. Why don't we just ask Bard? How recent is Bard's data that it's pulling from? Okay. Let me read you some of the questions here. Neil's question was the most popular search questions are how to improve search engine ranking, how to create effective search ads, how to use social media for marketing, how to measure the ROI of marketing campaigns. And these actually sound like our very early days marketing school topics. And if you'd like to see us cover some of these, or maybe you have a different spin on it, go ahead and tweet at myself, at Eric OSIU, or on Instagram, take a picture of us doing this and say, hey, this is a question I'd like you to answer.

3:07I will likely respond, Neil, a little less likely. But okay, BARD's data. Go ahead. How is BARD's data? Okay, BARD's data is constantly being updated, but the most recent data that it pulls from is typically a few weeks old. So that's what I said. this is because it typically takes time to collect and process new data and bard is constantly learning and improving however even though the data is a few weeks old it is still very relevant and up to date yeah that's awesome and the other thing with bard too that if you're gonna use it to come up with topics not just for podcasting but for social media or anything you're better off going after the ones that have high search volume so just asking simple questions like hey what's the most popular search questions or what's if you tie in volume that'll help you produce content that people are interested in because if they're still searching for it that means they want to learn about it and if you create content around it then you're most likely going to get traffic versus creating content around stuff that no one's really looking for okay pick this out so i'm literally neil's prompt is pretty good here so i refined the prompt and i asked what are the most popular search marketing i need to share my screen okay so i'm going to share my screen So the question is, what are the most popular search engine, search marketing questions that have high volume?

4:20So I'm sharing my screen right now. And this is what you can see. Okay, how to improve search engine ranking, how to create. Okay, so it's the same thing, right? But here's what I did. I went down, I got a little lazier. I was like, hey, can you make a table with the search volume numbers for each? And then here's what you see. I would take these numbers with a grain of salt because they're not always accurate here. Like I'll give you an example. When I asked about. Oh, wait, you can also ask about index too. how many results are for each and then figure out which ones are have high search volume and don't have tons of results how many results are indexed for each of these questions let's do that it's spinning it's working it's spinning guys and whoa there you go so you can export this to sheets too yeah this is cool yeah so anyway those of following us on YouTube.

5:11By the way, our YouTube is starting to grow now, guys. So follow us on YouTube. One more thing I'll say. Going back to my, you have to take these results with a grain of salt. So when the Nuggets won the NBA championship recently, I wanted to understand, because I'm a Lakers fan, right? So I wanted to understand who had the lowest, because Lakers got swept. But the net, they lost by 24 points overall. I wanted to understand how close everyone else was. Even though they got swept, most of the games were pretty close, right? So I wanted to feel better about myself as a Lakers fan, but it actually was incorrect because it said that the Nuggets played the Suns this year and the Nuggets actually didn't play the Suns this year.

5:49So you got to take that with a grain of salt. Neil, anything else? Nope, that's it. Make sure you rate review this podcast. Please give us five stars wherever you're listening. We really appreciate it. All right. Goodbye.
