0:00All right. So we are going to talk about our experience speaking at HubSpot's inbound conference. So Neil, do you want to elaborate on what the inbound conference is? I'm sorry every year throws an inbound marketing conference where people talk about the latest marketing strategies from AI, paid media, SEO, social media, how to convert visitors into customers. They pretty much talk about anything digital marketing related. It's a big event. I think there was over 10 ,000 attendees this year. 12 ,000 this year. Yeah, so it's quite a bit. A lot of great keynote speakers. Derek Jeter, Reese Witherspoon.

0:37so they had a really all-star lineup. Andrew Huberman, the doctor. Yeah, that's right, Andrew Huberman. Eric and I both spoke. We did a podcast episode that was fun. And yeah, overall, it was a good event. We've been there two years in a row now. And the latest thing that we're seeing, which a lot of conferences are talking about, which is AI, but at HubSpot, and we don't mean this in a bad way, there's just a lot of S &B and mid-market businesses, you know a lot the big trend was everyone's trying to figure out how to leverage ai and not hire as many marketers from at least the people i talk to they're like how can we automate as much as possible we don't need humans and funny enough my talk was the opposite on which how to thrive when everyone's using ai and how to win because the problem is is when everyone's using ai we all start sounding the same because we're using the same technology to create similar types of content they'll sound the same uh i always use the analogy i know eric doesn't like this one the where's waldo analogy in which everyone looks like waldo you know being unique actually makes you stand out versus being red and white striped t-shirt and ai is making it where everyone's looking like they're in a red and white striped t-shirt you know why i don't like that analogy neil like it's not that i don't like i don't resonate with it because waldo in the books is it's he's really hard to find so he like stands out he's unique right but if everyone looks at like where's waldo like that makes him not unique so that's where it doesn't resonate with me exactly you got it right that's why he's not so unique so ai is making everyone marketing imagine marketers you're saying everyone looks like waldo now that's what you're saying yes that's what i'm saying so like in my presentation i show an image of how waldo used to just be one person he's hard to find and now an image of everyone is pretty much that works a lot better because the way you told me i never saw you like visualize it right so now that you've explained it that it makes sense so yeah and that's the issue because we're all using ai or you and i not as much for content creation and things like that but yeah it's and it's not perfect either the content is is just terrible it's nowhere near the quality if you compare to hiring a really amazing writer By the way, speaking of quality, I apologize in advance for Neil's mic because he just moved.

2:57So our sound quality is going to be a little off for the next couple rounds, but it's okay, everyone. We still got to record. And so here's the other thing. When we spoke, so Neil had a main stage talk, and I actually checked today. I spoke to the HubSpot team. The main stage has 9 ,000 seats. I don't know if you know that. And I think he's – yeah. Did it look like 9 ,000 people? No. Okay. So I don't know. Maybe I could be off, right? Because 9 ,000 seems like a lot, especially if it's 12 ,000 people that went. So it could be off by maybe like double or something like that. It could be 4 ,500.

3:27It could be 2 ,000 or something like that. The individual that I spoke to, she said the side stage is like the development stage, which is where we did the podcast. Maybe 1 ,000 people or so. So maybe – I think maybe it's like closer to 400 or 500 or so. But the main thing is our thing was packed, and I'm grateful for all of you that listened. we're going to try to get the audio and the video files to upload here. I actually asked for them today and also some, some pictures too. So we can show to our moms that, you know, what we do is legit with the podcast stuff. Aside from that, Neil and I both did a little session with Chris from Wistia, the founder and CEO of Wistia.

4:04And we had, we had a dinner with him as well, with another creator named Jay Klaus. And we're going to talk about what we talked about at dinner later, but it's just, this is one of those opportunities when you go to a big event to be able to connect with people that you haven't seen for years. In this case, Chris and I have known each other online maybe for like 10 years or so. I just never met him in person. And so to be able to have those connections, Neil and I get some FaceTime as well, even though now we live close to each other. So there's probably a lot more FaceTime there. But what we also learned too, is that sure, people are interested in AI, but at the end of the day, when Neil and I came off of stage and I don't know what conversations you had, maybe you can share it, Neil, but people came up to me afterwards asking about, hey, I'm interested.

4:44I'm a marketer, but I'm interested in mergers and acquisitions. Hey, I'm interested in, oh, we built this AI tool and we want you to check it out. And someone showed us an AI tool that they built that automatically captioned our talk. Literally, she did it real time and that was pretty cool. I think the tool is called peach.ai. So P-E-E-C-H.ai, I could be wrong. Yeah, it's peach-ai.com. It was a really cool tool. She was gonna give us a demo of it. I haven't had a chance to take her up on the demo, but from what I saw in person, it was a really cool tool and we actually should start using it. Yep.

5:22So, I mean, it's because we talked about another tool on stage and then she brought up her tool. And that's a really good way to pitch, by the way. It's like you demo whoever you're targeting in real time. It shows that you've done the work and you've personalized it for them, which is like no different than any form of sales. It's sales 101. one. So look, we think HubSpot's a great event and we hope to do more things with them. And I think it's just, it's one of the marquee marketing events of the year. Anything else you want to add? Nope. That's it. All right. So that was it for today. Please don't forget to rate, review, subscribe.

5:54It helps us grow. And hopefully we'll catch you at HubSpot Inbound next year.
