Transcript
Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:14Hello, welcome back to my sister's diary. I'm your host Sam. and today's episode is kind of a doozy for you guys. It is scary stories, spooky, spooky, scary stories and I ask my listeners to submit their stories and I'm a little spooked and I'm recording this at night so I'm gonna try not to cry. Those of you who know I tend to cry during scary stories. It's not like I'm even that scared. It's just like a bodily reaction that I have and I can't explain it. It just isn't what happens. So you guys will have to deal with it if that happens. And before, sorry, I got to, I had something on my lap and I had to put it down.
0:53So sorry about that sound. But before we get into the scary stories, I have a couple of things I need to update you guys on. I don't think there's anything like crazy, but we, I'll tell you this, we had to buy a new car because a couple, a couple of things because our, we have two cars, we had two cars. So we had a GMC Acadia and then we had a Chevy Equinox and the Acadia was fine. It has an exhaust leak actually and it makes a really loud and kind of embarrassing sound when I drive it around. But it's something that we can fix and we know how to fix. We just haven't done it yet. And then the Equinox, the one that my husband drives, it has not been able to pass emissions because it has just all sorts of problems.
1:36And we thought we've done everything we can to fix it. We're just kind of out of loss. We did buy like a not as expensive part to fix one of the things because that part was really expensive. And honestly, our car is not worth that much money because that has so many miles. So we don't want to spend like two plus grand fixing this part on the car when the car is only worth like$2 ,500. We're not about to do that. And, you know, we've been needing a new car for a while because that car just in general has a lot of problems. And it just has so many miles that, you know, it's about time. So we went, well, we, I didn't go.
2:17My husband went down on Friday, I think. And then on Saturday, he went and looked at some different cars. And he's usually the one who looks at cars when we buy a new car because I don't know really anything about it. I'm like, oh, that one looks cute and let's buy it. and he's more like, okay, this one gets good gas mileage. It's reliable, all that stuff. And yeah, so he's the one who went down and looked and he found a couple of things. He found one that was a really good deal and they drove it up from, um, late into where we are. And so we went and looked at it on Saturday and it was Saturday night and there, the place we bought it from had a trunk retreat that night.
2:58And when we were asking the guy, the car salesman about it, because there was a huge freaking long line. And I was like, how many people do you guys usually have for this? And he's like, well, this year we're expecting around 10 ,000 people. And I was like, oh my gosh, I thought he was going to say like 2 ,000 people, but no, there were that many people there that night. So it was a terrible night for us to be buying a car, but we really had no choice. We kind of had to do it. Oh, the thing about not passing emissions with the other car is the registration was due like it was it was past time it was time to register the car and we couldn't get it to pass it never we never took it and had to actually fail but we have a code reader so we can see I say we very loosely I'm just saying we because it's also kind of my car but really Robbie does all this stuff and just tells me about it anyway he knew it wasn't going to pass the missions and the the guy at the the missions place told us that it wasn't going to pass so he didn't even want to, you know, try it because then you only have a couple, you know, set amount of days to get it registered.
3:58Anyway, we couldn't get it registered and it expired in July. So it's, it's been quite a while and we really needed another car. So we got this car and we, we were there so late because there were so many people there. And then someone had walked in right before us and bought a car. And so the financial guy was just kind of tied up. And if we had stayed and done all of the finance, like signed all of the paperwork, we would have been there until 1030 a year later and we needed to get back home with our kids. So they let us take the car home. We had put money down on it. They let us take the car home, obviously, with the intention of coming back on Monday.
4:34So we took the car home on Saturday and then I was driving our Equinox back home because we weren't going to trade it and we were just going to keep it and then sell it on our own just for whatever we could get out of it. Because the dealership told us they would give us 500 bucks and I'm like, okay, I think we get a little bit more than that out of it. We just sell it on our own. And I mean, obviously tell people that it needs something fixed on it, but I parked it on the road. And I remember thinking when I parked on the road, I was like, am I too far from the curb? Which I wasn't. I like, I was like six inches.
5:04I went out and looked, I was like six inches from the curb. And usually I like to park like right next to it, you know, like tire on the curb, but I didn't. And I was like, yeah, it's fine. I'll be fine. But then the little like anxiety in the back of my mind was like, well, so what if someone hits our car? And little did I know. The next day on Sunday, so yesterday from when I'm recording this, my husband comes downstairs. I was downstairs with the kids playing and stuff. And he's like, hey, someone just hit our car. And I was like, oh, my. What do you mean? What do you mean? And he's like, I just heard this big crash.
5:37And I'm pretty sure somebody ran into the back of the Equinox. And I was like, you're joking. You're literally joking. And he's like, no. So we go upstairs. And yeah, there a truck, a kid in a truck had just been not paying attention. and slammed into the back of our equinox. And there is no doubt in my mind that it's not total. There's, it's, it's 100 % total. There's no way that it's not because it, uh, he must have been going pretty fast and he, he came to the door and I, I honestly feel a little bit bad for him because he was so like apologetic and he felt really bad. And I mean, what can you do?
6:12I mean, we, things happen when you're a kid, you kind of have these lessons to learn, I guess. And obviously this is a terrible way to learn that lesson but at least it was like a car and nobody was in it rather than like a kid but at the same time we kind of wanted to be like that could have been a kid like you need to be paying attention to watching where you're going so I think he definitely got that message but uh what was I gonna say oh he hit the car and it jumped he hit it hard enough for it to like get forced up on top of the curb and so like the rim on the one side that it was parked against was broken.
6:47The whole like back corner of it was completely smushed. And yeah, I don't think there's any chance that it's not totaled, which honestly, we might end up getting more out of it this way than we could have if we had sold it. So maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I don't know. But it's the timing of everything is just crazy because we already had a car, you know, and we didn't have to. I don't know. It just was like perfect timing of we had bought the car already. Now we don't have to try and figure out how to get Robbie to work with just one car because he works really far away and I would essentially be carless, which I have things to do during the day.
7:23So that would kind of, kind of suck. I mean, we could do it, but it would not be ideal. So yeah, that's kind of my weekend. It was a little bit crazy and I don't know. We'll see. I'll keep you guys updated if the car is totaled or not. I'll post a picture so you guys CNC. But yeah, anyway, that was, I don't know. It's just one of those things that's like a coincidence, I guess. Maybe not. But in my mind, I'm like, what are the odds that this happens? So I'm glad that it was the Equinox that we parked on the road and not the new car, because that would have sucked, because we hadn't actually signed all the financial paperwork.
7:58So honestly, I don't know what would have even happened. But another note I wanted to make like is why I mean the guys that sold a cigar they were really nice yes but also why like why can you guys imagine if everywhere you went to buy something they were trying to upsell you like car salesmen do like if you're at the grocery store and they're like oh my gosh I really think you need to buy this and you're like no I'm okay and they're like well let me tell you exactly what you should buy and they just like go on and on and on and they kind of talk in circles and like in a way that makes you feel like you need it.
8:31Like they talk about like, well, what if this happens and you need this? And I don't know. It's hard to say no to them because me, and I'm not saying this is because I'm a female. It's not because I'm a girl. It's because I really don't understand a lot of that thing and a lot of like the car talk. And so when they're talking about like protection plans and stuff, I'm like, absolutely. I need that. I need the most expensive one. I need to protect my car. But like you actually probably don't need all of that stuff. And it's just hard. I'm like, just give it to me straight. Okay, don't try and trick me.
9:05It's super unethical, I think. And just give it to me straight and let me decide what I actually need instead of trying to trick people into buying things that they don't need just to get a little bit more money. I don't know. I think it's, I don't know. I'm not saying every car salesman out there is like that. And I don't think the people that we had were necessarily the like the worst at it. They were really helpful and all that. But there definitely were some things that I'm like, okay, just I know what you're doing. Like, just let it let it go. But yeah, and I hate the thing like when you go to buy a car, sorry, oh, this is the last thing I'll say where you go to look at the car and they're like, just kind of have this assumption.
9:47They're like, okay, yeah, you're gonna buy this car. And I'm like, let me decide if I'm gonna buy this car before you just assume that I'm gonna buy it. They're like, oh, you know what I'm saying? I don't know how to articulate exactly what I mean, but I think you guys know what I mean. It's just I wish that they weren't like that truly. And I know that they work off commission, but like they're going to sell a car, right? Like people need cars. So why are they trying to upsell every single person that comes in and trying to rip them off? It just is not it's not fun. It's not good. And I hate it.
10:21so if you guys have ever considered being a car salesman just take into consideration to not be um a jerk i guess and just to tell people what they're buying instead of trying to get a triggerman to buy something that i don't need all right um like okay when we bought our equinox they were like we need to put like nitrate or something like that some sort of gas in the tires and it was an extra 80 bucks which i know is not a lot not that crazy but we're like oh okay that makes so much sense. And then like three days later, we needed to add air to the tires because it got cold. And I'm like, okay, because that was supposed to make it so like you didn't have to change the air pressure based on the season, you know, it was total rip off.
11:03And it just made me mad because I'm like, you guys are freaking liars. Okay, shall we get into these scary stories? I'm trying to think if there's anything else I want to tell you guys. I don't think Oh, really, really quick. I posted a TikTok about how I hate showering and there are quite a few comments and there's probably actually not that many. 99 % of the comments agree with me that like it sucks taking a shower because it takes so long and takes so much effort. And I didn't say in the TikTok, like I never shower because I hate it. But some people like this guy, actually, I don't know if it's guy, this person, they didn't have a face, they didn't have a profile picture and they didn't have any videos and their profile, well, they did have a profile picture, but it was like of some pumpkins or something.
11:42And so I had no idea what gender they are. And when people say weird things, sometimes I just assume that it's a man. Like, sorry to all men, but that's just where my brain goes. It's probably truly not, truthfully, not a man. I have no idea. But anyway, this person says, people who don't shower are literally low rent. And I'm like, first of all, what does that mean? You're chronically online. And so I looked it up. I was like, what does low rent mean? and basically it means you're gross and grimy and filthy and I'm like okay you could have just said that instead of a low rent and second of all I didn't say I didn't shower and then they got on to another comment and one where someone said they're a therapist and a lot of their clients who have ADD tend to like feel this way and so that person gets on and they comment to this person and they're like what did they say hold on let me think oh they're like what the heck Like, showering is not hard.
12:36It's not work at all. And so I commented on theirs and I was like, why are you trolling? And they're like, I'm literally not. I deserve to be here. Anyway, it started this whole little argument. And there were a lot of other comments where it's like, you just shower. You're gross. I'm like, okay, guys, you're taking this way too seriously. It's really not that serious. I just wanted to complain for a second about how I don't like showering. Never did I say that I don't shower. I just don't like it. I also posted a video about washing my face and someone's like, why don't you just take a shower then?
13:07I'm like, because I don't want to. I don't want to have to shower in the morning and at night and I know people do that, but I don't want to and I'm not going to. All right, let's move on. Anyway, I just like to, it's funny to me the things that people comment on. I'm like, if you don't like the video, don't comment on it. But at the same time, it like drives engagement. So I'm kind of okay with it. All right, let's move on from that. I'm trying to think of any scary stories that I have of my own to tell you guys and this is what happens. I think about it and I'm like, oh no, nothing really scary has ever happened to me and then as I'm reading this story, something will probably pop up in my mind.
13:45So, I'm not going to say that like I don't have anything scary but nothing like comes to mind except for this one story. But other than that, I really don't feel like I've ever had like an insane experience where I'm like this confirms that the paranormal is real to me. I'm still on the fence about it. Sometimes I'm like, absolutely, there's got to be something. And then sometimes I'm like, it's all fake. And you know, I like to think sometimes that it's all fake, because then that gives me more peace of mind. And I love to have peace of mind. But I'll tell you this one story that really did kind of freak me out.
14:17And it was my my son was at my mom's house over the summer. And my mom called me and told me that after he had used the restroom, he comes and tells her, hey, grandma, you know, sometimes when you look in the mirror and there's two of you, she's like, no, what do you mean? And he's like, you know, like when you look in the mirror and sometimes there's two of you. And she's like, I don't know what you mean. And he's like, oh, it's okay. It doesn't happen at your house. It only happens at mine. And I was like, what does literally when she told me that my heart dropped and I was like, what does he mean?
14:49So I asked him about it when he got home and he's like, yeah, well, downstairs in the basement where he sleeps. And he's like, sometimes when I look at the mirror, there's two of me. And I was like, in my mind, I'm like, okay, well, maybe he's thinking of himself and then his reflection. And that's two. So I asked him, I was like, you see two people in the mirror? Or do you just see you? And he's like, no, I see two of me, two people. And I'm like, oh, that's not I didn't tell him this. But I was like, that's not freaking normal. And that's very upsetting. And I think it scared me mostly because he had been, he had recently been like really scared of the basement and like not wanting to go to sleep to a point where he was like, I almost wanted to take him into a counselor because he was having so much anxiety about it.
15:32So yeah, I just really like to not think about that because it really honestly freaks me out. Something about mirrors and seeing things that aren't there just gives me the heebie-jeebies. It reminds me of a story that one of my soccer friends had told one time where they were at a hotel on like a basketball trip or something and they were taking pictures and they had gone on the Ouija board and like some weird things happened with the Ouija board, which I will never understand why people mess with because I've heard way too many scary stories about it. But they had a Ouija board and they had like thrown it out or something and then they were taking silly pictures and they were looking back at the pictures and there's a picture where one of them was bent over grabbing something.
16:11but their reflection in the mirror was standing up and they're like we have the picture we can show you and I was like I absolutely do not want to see that like get that negative energy out of my face but yeah anyway mirrors just spook me out and I don't like them I mean I like looking in them but like if spooky things happen get get out of my face okay sorry I'm looking for the scary stories so we can get started on those. Hold on, bear with me. You know, I always think like, okay, there they are. All right, you guys ready? Let's dive into these spooky stories. And if you, I don't think there really is a need for a trigger warning necessarily on any of these, but I mean, they're just in the realm of scary and a mix between paranormal and like real stuff.
17:01So if that kind of episode doesn't drive with you, this may be a time where we say goodbye and you just end the episode right now. But I think that you guys will be okay. We'll see. If you're not, then you can yell at me. All right. This one says, driving home from St. George late one night, I stopped at a rest area to use the bathroom. It was totally empty except for one car. When I came out, the car's headlights were off, but I could hear someone whispering inside. As I walked by, I swear to you, I heard him say my name. I ran so fast back to my car and was terrified they would follow me, but they never did.
17:35So really nothing came of it, but it still scared the shit out of me. Yeah, I'd have to walk myself back into the bathroom because I would have shizzed my pants. I would have done that in my shorts. Hold on, let me think. Oh yeah, you said that the car's headlights were off when you came out, so I assume that means that they were on when you entered the bathroom. So I don't know, just the thought of, and sometimes I think we psych ourselves out, especially if it's dark, because you said it's at night, the just, you know, walking past them, and maybe they're talking to themselves in the car, and you convince yourself that they say your name.
18:15But at the same time, you're also like, I've listened to way too many true crime stories. And this person can be following me. And the fear, I know the fear of thinking something's going on like with a car or with a person and then being worried that they'll follow you that is such a real real fear and I have felt it so many times so I'm glad this person did not follow you because that would have been absolutely crazy but also very bold of you to go to a rest area where there's only one other person because I you will not catch me at a single gas station, port-a-potty, whatever you want to call it, outhouse without, like, the only place you'll catch me really is, like, Maverick or Sinclair or one of those big gas stations where there's basically stadium lights because nobody's gonna freaking murder me or snatch me up in the middle of the light.
19:06Actually, I don't guess I can't say that, but it's way less likely to happen if I am being blasted by light than if it's at a secluded place where there's only one other person. So I would really encourage you guys to, you know, hold it. I'd rather pee in my pants than have to go to a rest area where there's one, only one other person. There's one rest area on the way back to my hometown where even in the daytime, it gives me the heebie-jeebie. So I can't, because there's really not very many people there all the time. And so it just really freaks me out. I can't imagine having to stop at that gas station.
19:39It's not even a gas station. It's literally a rest area. So that's what I'm picturing when you tell me that this is a rest area. It's really secluded. there's like not very many people there and yeah that one always freaks me to freak out okay let's move on the next one says after a night session me and my friend were sitting in her car at the temple parking lot just talking it was late like almost midnight we both saw this woman walking down the middle of the lot in a long white dress we figured she worked there or something but she walked right behind my friend's car and then she didn't come out on the other side we got out and looked nothing no sound no footprints she was just gone this is very spooky um i would like to think that she was just you know a friendly ghost because you're on like temple grounds and whatever because i don't know i feel like well i don't know because because people do say that like religious places tend to attract you know evil spirits because the devil whatever is trying to entice people.
20:36I don't know. You know, I'm not a pastor. I can't explain it. But yeah, I and I don't blame you for thinking it was just a worker. And maybe it was maybe it was like a trick of the light. And she walked somewhere else. But I think I would make my friend drive me home. I'd be like that lady's hiding in the trunk ready to kill me. So you need to drive me home. That would absolutely freak me out. And I don't know. Do you guys think like seeing a man ghost or a woman ghost is scarier. I was, I heard this thing where someone was asking if like children, ghosts are more scary than adult ghosts. And I definitely think that children might scare me more for sure.
21:13And I don't know what it is, but children ghosts scare me more. But now I'm curious if like, if you saw a man walking in white versus a woman walking in white, to me, I think a woman might be scarier. I don't know why. If it was like real life people versus a woman versus a man, 100 % the man. But as a ghost, I think the woman might be scarier. I don't know. Also, I feel like there's way more scary stories, like scary movies where it's a woman, like when it's a ghost, you know what I mean? Like it's typically a woman. If it's like a slosher movie, that tends to be a man. Like, what is up with that?
21:47Okay. Next one says, my friend passed away in a car accident in 2019. Oh, I'm sorry. That's like not that long ago. Anyway, a few weeks after the funeral, I got a text from her number just a photo it was the selfie we took the night before she died and her mom swore the phone had been destroyed in the crash i deleted the message immediately because it freaked me out so bad oh i just got the chills a little bit like i i don't know i might think this is like sweet maybe actually no the more i think about it like if my friend had died and then she sent me a text i got a text from her number that was a picture of us i might be very creeped But I might also be like, oh, this is a sign that she's okay and she misses me or that she loves me, you know?
22:31It could be sweet, but also incredibly creepy. If it was something different, like there was something weird with the photo, like there was something behind you guys or something, that would be a different story. But I'd like to think that this one is more of like a, she's just letting you know that she's okay, you know? That's what I'm going to assume with this story. Okay, next one says, So my roommate's sophomore year just left one weekend. She didn't say a word to anyone. Like all her clothes, shoes, everything was still there, just gone. We told the RA and they said maybe she had family emergency, but nobody ever came to get her stuff.
23:10The school tried calling her, emailing her, nothing. By the end of the semester, maintenance finally went in to clean the room. They said it looked normal except for one thing. a note taped on the inside of the closet door that said stop opening the door I'm trying to sleep we never figured out who wrote it because the room had been locked the whole time what why would why would the note say stop opening the door if you never opened the door I'm confused that is creepy like seeing that kind of note in the closet is is creepy for sure hold on let me think let me see this okay I don't know that would be just roommates in general is a tricky situation because if you think about it, you're moving in with people.
23:50If you have random roommates, if you have random roommates that you don't, you're moving in with people who you don't know anything about. Like they could be actually crazy, like crazy. And you're just moving in with them. You know, you know what I just thought of? You know what I just thought of? What if, what if the reason, okay, what if the note wasn't for you guys, like for the, the roommates to stop opening the door? What if the note, oh my gosh, I just got chills. What if the note was like there was something in the roommate's closet and the roommate kept opening the closet door and the one time she opened it and she found that note that said stop opening the door I'm trying to sleep and that's why she left so suddenly.
24:31That's got to be it. That's got to be it, right? It can't, that is what makes the most sense to me. And that is horrifying. That just made me want to cry a little bit. That is very spooky. If I saw a note like that, oh, I think I would burn the house down. I think I'd burn the apartment down. I would call the police probably. I would, I really might contemplate calling the police and being like, there's somebody in my closet who is trying to sleep and I keep opening the door and waking them up. Yeah, that's spooky. Anyway, back to the roommate thing. Yeah, you don't know your roommates and that is a spooky situation in and of itself.
25:07I always had good luck with roommates, thankfully. I hope they would say the same thing about me. but I had good roommates and I feel lucky for that because I know people who either weren't a good roommate or had really bad roommates and it just made their life absolute hell so yeah anyway I'm sorry this happened and that is spooky that would follow me for the rest of my life probably okay this one says this one isn't mine it's my sister's she had one of those baby monitors with the screen sometimes it would flicker and show weird static but nothing crazy one night she sees something move on the screen.
25:41Not the baby, like someone standing next to the group. Oh, this is my worst nightmare. I'm not even gonna lie. She runs in. No one's there, but the baby's crying. She takes the monitor out of the room after that. A few days later, she's cleaning out. She's cleaning and finds tiny handprints on the inside of the baby's closet door, but the baby can't even stand up yet, so it can't be the baby's hands. Oh my gosh. Ew. I keep seeing videos on TikTok of things like this where someone will be looking their baby's monitor and they'll see something or someone and then they'll go in there and there's literally nothing there and I don't know maybe I'm hopeful that a lot of it is just AI and not real but I know there are ones out there that like do not look AI at all and that's literally my worst nightmare is seeing something on the monitor a lot of times I don't even like to look at it because I'm scared I'll see something or convince myself I'll see something but that's why you have monitors in the first place is so that you can see if there's something or if the baby needs help.

26:37I think I would keep the baby in my room for the rest of my life. I'm not kidding. I think I would keep them in there and not let anybody sleep in that room because that's absolutely horrifying. And I don't know what's actually I do know what's worse. I think I'd rather have a ghostie in my child's room than a person. Like if I figured out there was a person there, I would not be okay. I would have to move homes for sure if something like that happened that's creepy I feel like there's gonna be a actually this is probably happened on a scary movie I was gonna say I feel like there's gonna be scary movies that are like this now that technology has come out with more and more things with baby monitors and stuff but there's gotta be one out there I just haven't seen it yet besides maybe like paranormal activity I don't know that's not really baby monitors though you guys know the last paranormal activity was so dumb because the movie went you know when it's like like I like a movie that seems kind of believable especially if it's paranormal activity and it's supposed to quote-unquote be real but when they there was like a tornado at the end like a like a uh what cycle no not psychological paranormal like a paranormal tornado I don't know it was it was so dumb I don't know why that came to my mind but yeah okay this one says I was renewing my license at the DMV so I had all my important info like social security passport ID etc I walked out and instantly felt like I was being followed but no one was there so I brushed it off I got my car but couldn't shake the feeling the DMV was in the middle of nowhere so I could see for miles and there wasn't a single car or person as I was driving out of nowhere this red beat up pickup truck appeared behind me.
28:21I could only see it in my mirror. Every time I looked behind me, it wasn't there, just in the mirror. So I kept driving and it followed me every turn I took. I tried to do the whole, make a bunch of right turns, and it kept following me. I drove straight to the police station to park for a while, and when I got there, there were three red trucks already there. I was so freaked out, I decided to keep driving and call the station instead. They told me not to go home and to head to the fire station, so I did. When I got there, they were waiting for me and stayed with me for a while. No one else showed up, so they said I was good to head home.
28:50I drove home with no sign of the truck, but I was still on edge. I finally fell asleep, but in the morning when I go to work, the exact same red beat-up pickup truck was parked at my neighbor's house on the road. It was there for a week with no one inside and no one knew who it belonged to. Every time I see a red truck, my heart skips a beat, but so glad nothing came from it. Ooh, I don't know if this is like a ghost story or if it's just like a creep, you know, because that you said like it wasn't there when you looked in the rear view mirror but I don't know I think it might be scarier if it was a person that was following you oh I don't know the like I said the feeling of somebody following me is it is the fear is so tangible that's not right the right word anyway the fear is like so deep inside of me that it feels that's one of my fears one of my fears especially when I'm walking or like on a walk with my kids or something and I see someone and I'm like okay I'm always like checking in my mind like make sure this person's not following me and then like I take a couple turns and they're still going the same way as me I'm like oh that I start to panic and I'm like I need to I start looking for doors of places I could walk up to and be like hey and I kind of give him a single like there's someone following me can you please help me out oh that's freaky and I'm glad nothing came of it that could have been bad but I would still be a little like you said every time you see a red pickup truck I can totally understand why you would freak out but I'm also glad that the fire station and like the people took you seriously when you called because they could have just been like okay you're dumb don't worry about it and just go home but they they told you to come to the station so I think that's good and I know people are like try not to make a big deal out of things but you know you never know so I'm team make a big deal out of things if something's freaking out if you feel like someone's following you absolutely say something or go to the authorities because you don't know these days what could happen okay this next one is very chilling so just buckle up it says in my husband's culture women are not allowed to wear their hair down at night you must always put it up in a bun when walking at night because of an old story of women walking home and some entity would grab women's hair and pull them to the bush and scalp them.
31:10My sister in law was serving her mission in Samoa with a companion who knew nothing about this. One night they were walking and the companion had her hair down and kept telling my sister in law that it felt like she was fighting to stay on her feet and her hair was being pulled. My sister in law grabbed her companion by the hair tied it up and pulled it and pulled it tied it up and pulled her home as fast as they could go. The companion felt totally fine but my sister in law instantly started getting blinding headaches and didn't know what was happening. The headache got worse and she got so sick she couldn't leave the bed.
31:41One of her distant uncles heard about an LDS missionary who was unwell and just went in to check on her. Sorry, I lost my spot. Oh, just went in and check on her. He is a pastor for another faith and still practices some very old healing things. When he saw her, he immediately began, he immediately started begging. When he saw her, he immediately started begging her to let him basically massage her head. She had to get special permission to do this and was to report to her mission president after. The uncle said that she had an evil spirit tied to her for protecting her companion. Hold on, I lost my spot again.
32:14For protecting her companion, but immediately after the healing was done, my sister in law puked a black color and stood up and felt completely fine and had no more headaches. I've heard some crazy missionary stories from people and I don't feel like people would lie about it. So it really freaks me out, especially if you're in a place where you don't understand the culture very well. I feel like that could be easily, you're just like more vulnerable to spirits and stuff like that. So that is a very scary situation to be in. And I tried looking up like which culture it was that this was tied to.
32:54And it kind of gave me a bunch of different ideas. So I don't really know for sure. But I could definitely see it being part of a culture where these kind of things happen and well not these kind of things happen but you know it's like a like a story and people are very superstitious about it and take it very seriously so I bet that I bet your was it your sister-in-law yeah your sister-in-law I bet she did not let any of her companions go with their hair down anywhere at night that would be so freaky can you imagine if like you're walking and you feel like someone's trying to pull on you and then later find out that like your companion has this thing within their culture where they tell you like women get pulled into bushes and they get scalped I would be so unwell I think I might I would probably shave my head I'm not kidding I've done it well I've I've almost done it I've had a very short pixie cut before I could do it again I could absolutely do it again if I if I needed to oh that's really freaky okay that one's spooking me so I need to move on the next one says our family runs hunting dogs and so the dogs are pretty fearless one day out on our property we were just letting the dogs out to run when they took off into the woods by our house we had taken out our phone and were recording the beautiful sunset when all of a sudden the most terrifying scream came out of the woods all the dogs came back on a dead run looking visibly shaken none of the dogs will go back into the woods and will yelp almost in pain when they when we start to walk them into the woods no no dogs were hurt and no one lives us around lives around us for miles you that the thought of like a blood-curdling scream coming from the woods where you know there's most likely nobody there is so unbelievably scary i don't know what it is about like a scream i mean obviously it's a scream is scary but like a really loud scream is you know you guys are like well no duh Sam like a loud scream is scary but I'm thinking of like a scary movie scream you know what I'm talking about just like that guttural scream I I hope you guys called the cops because you're like someone's getting murdered in there but whatever it is enough to spook dogs and I feel like dogs are really sensitive to this kind of thing you know they just have like more intuition I guess than humans do or like they have better sense of like they can sense the weather and they can sense like people's emotions and stuff like that.
35:26So that alone that your dogs were scared is terrifying. And there's been times when my dog will be barking at nothing and I'm like, you better stop that right now because I'm going to start crying. I don't know what you're barking at, but I'm not okay with it. Oh, I was going to say something. What did that remind me of? I don't know. But yeah, I hope you called the police and I hope you didn't go check it out yourself because that would be dangerous. Okay, next one says, when my dad was a teenager, he and his friends would go down by, sorry, let me start over. When my dad was a teenager, he and his friends would go down and camp by the Green River.
36:02On one occasion, they camped in a very secluded spot and felt like they were being watched. As they went to bed, they could hear something come closer to their tent. He said it was like the air became harder to breathe and everything went absolutely silent. Moments later, rocks were being thrown at their tent and they yelled out and and rocks at their tent but they yelled out that they had a gun and then a large basketball size rock was thrown no one was hit but they grabbed their shoes and ran for the truck next morning they came back to grab the rest of their stuff and all around their tent was wet dirt and all they could find was their own footprints but could see where the rocks were picked up from you i don't know if this one is like a paranormal type thing okay something about being in the woods And I know people, this is like cliche, of course, but being in the woods is just extra spooky because there's not like light around.
36:54There's wild animals. There's like crazy people running about in the woods or, you know, I feel like that would be a good spot if I was a crazy person to be running about. So it just adds a whole layer of spooky and there's way more many like unfamiliar sounds. and truthfully whenever we've gone camping a lot of times when we're going to sleep I'm like like my ears are perked and I'm like listening to every little sound I can hear and it really freaks me out there's been times when we've been camping where I can't sleep because I'll just get this like feeling that something is going to go wrong and then I can't shake it I'm like there's going to be a bear there's going to be a person there's going to be something and then I can't shake it and then I can't sleep.
37:36So that's definitely an anxiety thing. But also, I feel like it's a little bit valid because there are some crazy things that happen in the woods to people and in scary movies and in scary shows. That's where people get murdered. Like in the vampire diaries, there's a lot of people that get murdered when they're camping. Okay, the whole thing about there not being any other footprints is not okay with me because that means that it was like a ghost or something evil and also a basketball size rock you know how heavy that is it would have to either be a gigantic sasquatch man or some sort of evil demon thing because who else could lift a giant rock like that not a lot of people and to lift it and throw it also is is like impossible unless you're literally sasquatch or a demon so that's i don't like either of those options okay shall we move on yes i think we should okay this one says okay yeah i have a couple more we have time for a couple more this one says my husband and i were newly married and they and we were living in a rundown neighborhood on the second floor we had no ac so we often slept with our balcony door open from our bedroom and where my husband slept you could see over the balcony well you could see the balcony one night my husband rolled over and shook me awake and very quietly said, babe, grab your gun out of the nightstand and hand it to me slowly.
39:01I was instantly wide awake. Me and my husband, me knowing my husband only had a hand. Oh my gosh. Sorry guys. Let me start that sentence. Me knowing my husband had only handled a gun maybe once or twice told him I would be the one to use it. He quietly told me that two men were standing inside the balcony, trying to look down the hallway into our room. I carefully slid out of bed and very carefully slid to the edge of the doorway. As I began to draw my gun around the corner of the doorway, I zeroed in on the intruder only to realize that it was our stupid curtains and my husband was sleep talking slash walking.
39:32Decided you needed a funny story for you, Sam, since we know most... Oh my gosh, I can't talk. Decided you needed a funny, scary story for you, Sam, because we know some scary stories make you cry. Yeah, I appreciate this. Thank you for throwing this in the mix because... Well, actually, reading it at first could have made me cry. So you kind of had me there for a second. But oh my gosh, I'm sure the panic you felt until you saw that there was nothing there was I'm that will stay with you for a very, very long time. I remember one time when I lived in our the like the house we lived in before we bought this house and it was a rental.
40:11But there actually I'll tell you a couple things about this house. But first, let me tell you the one that relates about this story. One time my husband and I were in bed and we weren't asleep yet, but like we were very close and we heard our door open, like the door that goes outside. I think it was the side door, but we heard it open and very clear as day, like unmistakably the door was opening and we both kind of froze. And I was like, are you going to go check that out? And he's like, I don't know. I'm kind of scared. And I was like, well, I'm not going to do it. So he goes and he checks it out.
40:44And of course I'm sitting there shaking my boots, shaking in my boots and he comes back in and he's like, well, the door just like the wind had blown it open. And in my mind, I'm like, okay, that makes sense, I guess, because that door, if you don't close it all the way, will like open up if it's not locked. But the weird part is my husband is so crazy about, and I really appreciate this about him, don't get me wrong, but he is very vigilant about locking the doors. He checks them three times. I'm not joking. Makes sure they're locked. And so the door just swinging open because it wasn't locked or shut all the way just doesn't really seem like something that would happen.
41:28But I'm going to tell myself that that's exactly what happened because there was nobody there and nothing really spooky else happened that night. But it definitely scared me very bad. The other thing about this house was when we first moved in, we had one of Robbie's friends come over and just we were kind of hanging out and I was telling him how it was different because we'd never lived in like a house before for very long. And I was telling him like going from an apartment to a house, like I feel like a different kind of like spirit, I guess, or just like feeling about the house. And he kind of looks at me, he's like, what do you mean?
42:03And I was like, I don't know. I just feel like, like a, like a spirit. And of course, that would freak someone out to hear. And we knew that the lady who owned the home before her daughter owned the home. So like her daughter owned the home. But before that, a couple had owned the home and the husband passed away, I believe, at the house. And then the wife also passed away at the house. And then the daughter took over the house. We were renting the house from the daughter. And I'm pretty sure she passed away in this room where I was saying like I felt like the spirit not like the holy spirit but like something you know and it didn't freak me out it wasn't scary by any means I just like felt something and I don't know I feel like I am really in touch with my spiritual side I guess and just can I don't know how to explain it without making myself sound cuckoo crazy but hopefully you guys know what I mean anyway I tell this friend this and he's kind of like freaked out and so he we kind of move on from the conversation and we're talking about something else and then he kind of gets up and leaves for a minute and he goes into the room that I was just talking about and he stays there for a while and then he goes upstairs in like the living room because I also said like I kind of felt it there because he asked me where at in the house I felt it and he doesn't say anything but he comes back down later and then I was talking to my husband about it after that and I'm like that's kind of weird that he did that and he's like yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he went in there and like blessed the house and I was like oh that's kind of weird and then not weird but I was like I was surprised that that it freaked him out that bad but I think on his he went on an LDS mission and I think on his mission he had had some like weird experiences so like I also didn't blame him for being spooked anyway um like a couple weeks passed and I just randomly one day was like I haven't felt felt like that feeling of that I had that I was telling this friend about at all since he left.
44:00And I'm like, is it because he blessed the house? Like, I don't know. It kind of just freaks me out to think about because there's definitely like a palpable difference from when he, I don't, and I don't honestly know for sure if he did that or if he didn't, or if just like us talking about it. I don't know. It freaks me out a little bit. So yeah, that was the story about our other house. And it was really old. And I don't know, there were like creaking sounds. And I know some things that spooked me a little bit. But I also really love the house. So I'm kind of sad that we're not there anymore.
44:34But I also love the house of the word. So all right, let's move on. The next one says, sorry, I just sniffed right into the mic. It says my friend and I were my friend and I decided one fall that we wanted to become trail runners and decided to pick an easy trail for our first go. This trail was known for a nude hot spring that was frequented by many. The area was typically patrolled and had a rule that nudity was only allowed at the hot spring. My friend and I decided we'd take the trail that went opposite direction of the hot spring just to avoid anyone. The minute we stepped out the car we just had this feeling we were being watched.
45:06We went to the bathrooms before we started on our run and went back to the car to grab something when we noticed a completely naked older man watching us. This guy was probably in his 60s and was very obviously making his way slowly towards us. We started to go up the trail and went and dipped off behind a boulder to see what he was going to do. Two minutes passed and he began running down the supposed trail he thought we were going on. We quickly ran back to our car and began to drive away. When we got on the road he came sprinting to his car and jumped in and began following us. We somehow managed to lose him on a back road and doubled back to this parking lot where we first saw him.
45:38Why did we do this instead of getting out of there? I wish I knew. But we sat in the parking lot and he came back and we and when he came back, we hid in the car and watched him begin running down the trail once more. For a moment, we laughed because for a moment, we laughed because his manhood was flapping in the wind as he ran. We were finally pulling away. A family pulled up and warned us when we were finally pulling away. Someone's trying to open my door.
46:07hello hello i'm spooked i'm gonna ignore that okay okay where was i as we were as we were finally pulling away a family pulled up and we warned them of this crazy man the next day there was a police report of a man under the influence trying to attack women on that same trail after that we both decided running wasn't for us yeah i think i would have decided that too i think i would have been like, you know what? I gave it a try. I gave it my best shot. There was a naked man following us and I'm out. I'm completely out. And, you know, I was thinking about this when you told us that he started running where you guys were running.
46:43I'm like, what about his peen? Or like that had to have been, you know, just flapping in the wind and that can't be comfortable. So he was really determined. He was really determined to follow you guys because he was willing to sacrifice the comfort of his genitals. I'm sorry, but I think I would have laughed for sure, but also been completely spooked because there's one, for one, there's nothing scarier than an old man following you that you don't know. And for two, there's nothing, literally nothing scarier than a naked old man running after you on a trail. That is enough for nightmares. And there's probably a story for a movie and they're somewhere about a scary movie you know there's you know there's scary movies like I think it's The Visit is what it's called spoiler alert but like in the end not in the end towards the end there's a part where you see a naked grandma's butt and it just adds to the scariness like tenfold so this guy being naked just makes it way more scary and and also the nude hot springs like slide into my dms and tell me where this is no just kidding but also not really um yeah where were you where where is this mysterious naked hot springs because i i want to avoid it maybe okay next one says i was attending oh wait i think this is the last one yeah this is the last one it says i was attending a game at oh my gosh I'm sorry guys I'm really working on my reading and I think it's getting worse so I apologize says I was attending a game at a park in South Jordan where there were tons of our friends and their kids I had a six-month-old baby and a three-year-old little boy while I was watching the game that my husband was playing our son was playing on the playground with the older kids with the other kids I would often look over to make sure he was okay and to see if the older kids that they said they would watch him were also okay halfway into the game a guy that played on my husband's team but I didn't really know came up to me and asked me if I knew the people that my son was getting in the car with.
48:43I jumped up and obviously yelled, no, the big man went running, the big man, this big man went running at this vehicle and people drove off leaving my son just standing there. The guy grabbed my son and I immediately started crying as he returned him to me. I know this isn't technically a scary story, but every time I leave the house, I'm absolutely terrified and have become an extreme helicopter mom. It scares me to my core to think that this could have what could have happened to my son oh my gosh this gives me the goosebumps all over my body if like my hair feels like it grew an inch you know when you get goosebumps and that feeling anyway that is so so scary I think that's scarier than any of the stories any other stories that were submitted because something about kids and becoming a mom and the idea of anything happening to my kids is truly my nightmare.
49:39Like, I don't know how else to put it, but it's the most horrifying thing I can think of. And so to think that you were there and like, thank goodness that this guy was, not that you weren't paying attention. I mean, things happen and you said like you had asked some kids to kind of keep an eye on him and you were frequently watching. It was just like a split second where this thing had happened. And thank goodness this guy was like kind of watching and noticed something weird was going on with this kid and these people in this car and was able to like save him I guess and truly I can't I also I think it would keep me up for years I would have nightmares about him being kidnapped or getting have gotten in the car and that is truly truly so terrifying and there's been times when things happen like I am so vigilant even at Walmart, I'm always checking to see if there's someone following me and if I need to take like an extra loop looking for my car or when I get in my car before I even start it, I lock the door because I'm like someone could get in my passenger side and like, I don't know, I think way too much about it.
50:45And I am definitely, most people would probably identify me as somewhat of a helicopter mom, but I don't know how to shake it, honestly, because I'm like, I don't know how to and I know it's like I'm not I don't want to say like not care because there's people who aren't helicopter moms who are like safety conscious and like they take fantastic care of their kids but it's like the anxiety inside of me that I can't drop because it's it's a superstition for sure because I'm like if I if I don't like they'll probably be fine if if they do this but like what if this one time that I'm not watching or this one time that I let them do this something bad happens.
51:26That's the thought in my mind. And I'm sorry, I'm probably making your anxiety worse about this. But truly, this story, I think is the scariest story. And I honestly think that if I were like, if someone were to ask me what's more scary, like real life things or paranormal, paranormal, I think real life scares me way more than paranormal. Because in my mind, sometimes the paranormal, like, I'm like, okay, it's, it's like, not real. Part of me is, you on the fence about it not being real. And but real life things, it's undeniable. It is real. There are people out there who will do things to hurt your kids, do things to hurt you, do things to hurt people.
52:08And there's proof, there's evidence, you see it all over the news all the time that that's real. And so I think that scares me way, way more. I also have this like thing inside my mind where I'm like, if someone tries to take my kids, like I'm like, I could take them for sure. but also I try to tell myself that because like I want to be confident if something happens but I know deep down in my core that like I'm men just I mean most men are probably stronger than me because they're men and their bodies are built differently like they have more muscle mass and stuff like that and so it scares me to think that like I could be so easily overpowered and not to say that I couldn't be overpowered by a woman.
52:49I for sure could. But I think just the idea of it being a man, I don't know. I'm just, and I don't want to like feed into this idea necessarily that like men are evil. But if you look at the statistics, it seems to be pretty heavily, you know, men who are doing these crazy things. So it definitely scares me. Anyway, sorry, I didn't mean to go on that long tangent, but I am, you were like, sorry, this isn't a scary story. yes it is it 100 % is and yeah I hope that nothing like that ever happens and nothing actually comes out of it like your kid is safe everything was okay in the end but it could have it could have been so so bad and yeah anyway yeah that's all I have for you guys today and I hope you have a fantastic happy Halloween don't get too spooked keep it real be keep it real I'm sorry I meant like be safe and be vigilant and but also have fun I love you guys bye
