Today we are joined by Love Island bombshell Hallie Brown, who has plenty to say about her savage dumping that had viewers up in arms. Plus, senior showbiz reporter Jake Penkethman and I will be hearing all about life at home with her football legend dad, Wes, and Real Housewives mum, Leanne. I'd just like to call to order the first official meeting of the Hallie Defence League. Yeah, honestly. Hallie Defenders. because what was that dumping honestly guys you tell me savage i think that is the best way to describe it isn't it like completely outrageous but we'll be getting into all of that properly um i just want to rewind yeah how did you get cast for love island tell us the story so i applied i've actually applied quite a few times i did i applied guys so yeah so i applied i've applied quite a few times.

1:23I mean, when I first broke up with my boyfriend, I applied like straight away, probably wasn't the best thing to do. And I'm glad they never probably found the audition because, you know, I just don't think I was probably in the right mental space. You know, I think I was going in for the wrong reasons, you know, took time to heal, like sort myself out. And then, yeah, applied, I think like two, the year later and then applied again this year and then they found it this year yeah yeah so i do really good i have to say i do love revenge love island though yes when people like so livia atwood did that didn't she like to get revenge on a break but i wouldn't i wouldn't say it was for that at all like i generally generally wanted to find someone and i think on there finding someone that i was looking for you know that's not shy in front of the camera that's you know outgoing and you know wants to show me off and i can show them off and we can take cute little pictures and post them on socials.

2:20I thought like probably the best person to find would be in there. Do you know what I mean? Like the boy version of me. So what I'm really interested in is sometimes people say, I'm only doing it if I'm an OG. I don't want to be a bombshell. Yeah. Was there a convo like that? No, not really. To be honest, I always said like, listen, I trust you guys. Whatever you see me as, you see me as, you know, and even making it to the villa and stepping foot in there is like a big, big achievement. And I knew I had bombshell potential, guys. So OG or bombshell, like I was really happy with just making it, to be fair.

2:58Halle Brown:And when you find out you're going in as a bombshell, did you know you were always going to do this series or is it after it kicked off, after launch night, did they then contact you and say, look, this is your time, this is you going in as a bombshell now? So I got called up quite quickly, actually. I don't know like how it worked for anyone else, but I basically got called up, got on the flight the next day, had like a couple of days in, like they call it holding, like just to, because they don't know how the show is going to pan out, which is fair enough. And then I literally went on on the Monday and they sat me down on the Monday and basically explained like, you're going to be a bombshell, you're going in with three other people.

3:35So they explained that on the day. Quite a quick turnaround. Yeah. You weren't just a bombshell, you were a sleepover bombshell. I think that's the hardest job, right? Yeah. But I made it back. She survived everyone. And you chose Simba. Yes. You didn't know though that he was already very much involved with Mika. No. When you realised that was the case, talk us through those emotions. So obviously I invited Simba because, I mean, look at the boy. Like he's gorgeous. You know what I mean? And I knew he had like a thing going on with Angie, but obviously everyone in there was saying that they were open.

4:13So I was like, I might as well give it my best shot. Then obviously when I got there and obviously Chidi who picked Mika was there and we saw that them two were getting on. When I was having private conversations with Simba, he was very much like, I'm not getting in trouble. One from Angie and two, I'm speaking to Mika. So I was like, oh, okay. But I was like, a girl's got to shoot her shot. Like I still tried, I still put my flirt on. Yeah, of course. But he was just very much not having it. Did he have that thing where you were talking, but you could see that he was like looking at where Mika was?

4:47Well, not necessarily, maybe in the daytime, but the first day, not necessarily. Like I really thought he was flirting back with me. I mean, he was giving my lips a good look for a kiss. And I was like, you can't be telling me you can't be naughty and then be looking at me like that. So that's when I was a bit confused the next day, how all over each other they were. Because I was like, oh, this is a lot more serious. than I thought it was.

5:11Halle Brown:I think it kind of came across that maybe that first night he was settling into the whole sleepover villa thing and then he realised the day after he's away from Angie so he can kind of get away with what he wants. And obviously because he'd had those chats with Mika the day before going, it was like, okay, now he's got licence to go full throttle with that. Were they, speaking full throttle, was there a lot more kissing than was shown? Have you watched it back? Not really, no. I mean, that first kiss that they had in the night time, I didn't even realize they did that I'm like so in my own world guys like we were just talking at the fire pit and then Tina was like oh guys they're really getting on and I just went what but I looked the opposite way like to answer her and then Chidi I think Chidi went through a bit more emotions than me I was kind of like you know what firm it it is what it is they've got to do what's best for them whereas Chidi I think felt a bit like at like he felt a bit like a you know I mean, like I've invited you here and you're kind of not taking any notice, which was completely understandable.

6:12So we were sort of each other's like wingman and wingwoman in there because we were like, listen, hopefully we make it to the main villa, like, and you can get your graft on in there. Yeah, of course. Which you did. Which I did. So when you get to the villa, who wasn't as welcoming as they could have been? Was there anyone that was like, oh, new people, God? Not necessarily. Maybe, like, obviously, Jasmine and Angelista, we invited their boys, didn't we? So that was a bit like, but they were still very like, hi, guys. Everyone was so welcoming. Like, do you know what I mean? It's not easy, new people coming in.

6:47Because, again, it starts breaking up the format that they've just got used to. So, yeah, but everyone was really, really welcoming. There wasn't anyone that I was like, oh, God, she was rude. Like, there was no one like that.

6:57Halle Brown:Did it almost feel like there was any sort of clicks when you first walked in? So I think what's really interesting with Love Island, sometimes everyone seems to get along. And then other times you've got these like little groups from like last year, obviously you had the big three formed. Was there any, could you notice like little formations within sort of the girls or the boys, especially with you going in new, like where would you fit into anything like that? There was definitely like, the boys were just all one group really. But the girls, like all the girls got on, but I'd say going off the chats, It was more, there was a lot of like Jasmine, Mika and Angie used to go off for a lot of chats, just them guys.

7:35Priya sometimes got involved with that. But a lot of the time it was very split. Like all the girls sort of spoke to everyone. I wouldn't say there was like set people for set things. Do you know what I mean? And when you clocked eyes on Tommy, were you like, wow. Yeah, his body is unreal. So I was literally like, okay. but I was like let me make sure he's got the chat to go with it but it was just quite upsetting that he'd said all that stuff to all the boys and even the girls being like I don't want to get to know any of them like none of them are my type especially saying that to Sam as well and then doing what he did but I think if I would have known that I would have gone about it a different way do you know what I mean because I didn't also want to look like a mug and it's so difficult because you're in that position where you want to be you and not look like a mug but also you've got to couple up yeah yeah exactly and the person at that time who I thought I had the most vibe with was Tommy like and like I probably yeah it was probably my own fault for coupling up coupling up with him to lead me where I am now I'm like back in England but I'll I'll take it with like with my head held high do you know what I mean because I'm not going to fake anything that wasn't there for me personally and I'm also not doing that to the other person like just stringing them along he was already moving quite mad though before you got there was there not a part of you that was like why am I doing this with this man 100 % especially because the girls were like just be careful but I was saying to the girls I'm going to take everything you're telling me under the belt but and keep it in the forefront of my mind but also he did that before I came in I'm not going to forget about it but I just want to see his actions now.

9:24Yeah, and you've also got to form your own opinion.

9:27Halle Brown:Exactly. The way he could be with you could be completely different to whoever else he was chatting to beforehand. And also, she's got to couple up to stay in the villa. Yes, the fundamental thing of the show. Yeah, imagine, I actually don't like any of you all. I can't say that. I always think this sometimes, especially with sit-ups like you had, it's all very well to be like, oh, she went for the worst one, and oh, this, that, and the other, what about the girls? And it's like... There's nothing else you can do. It's literally the rule of the show. Yeah. she's got no choice exactly well let's talk about the dumping because as you say that's what led you to being here so as soon as you get the text saying that's gonna be the dumping yeah you're immediately thinking oh my gosh what's gonna happen take us through it step by step so obviously we got the bb rexer text first yes and i think i was one of the only ones in that villa that knew like some of her songs so I was literally like whoa can't wait like first party in the villa like so excited and then everyone was still a bit like everyone like went quiet started talking about it and then another text came through and we were like oh no oh no and then when it said least compatible I'm not I'm not gonna I'm going to be honest I was shocked because they've already done that question they've done it once they've done it twice I think it once it was um OP and Victoria wasn't it yeah so I was like oh my god they're using the same question no like and then when me and Tommy went off for our chat Tommy was like I'll be honest with you I think we're in the running and I was like there's only one couple though at that moment in time that was the least compatible and the girls knew that and so did the boys because Chidi was speaking to all the boys and Mika was speaking to all the girls they were gonna cut it off that morning before we got the text so I said I just said to Tommy I hope everyone follows the question and not the friendships and Tommy was like I'll be honest with you I think we're gonna be in the running for this because the girls love Mika yeah and I was like listen if we go we go can't do anything about it I picked you yeah um then obviously we all had to stand around the fire pit once we'd had like a couple well like 10 minutes to make our decision so around the fire pit and obviously the first the next people to go was Jasmine and Kevin and they picked me and Tommy and the whole reasonings was because of Tommy.

11:49Cool. Then obviously we, the next people to go was Jasmine Lorenzo and they did that rogue vote for Tina and Aiden. Again, I do really think they got on, but they were probably, everyone kept saying there's definitely three couples. So I definitely think that was obviously the third couple that was in the running. And then it just went back and forwards for me, Chidi and Mika and me and Tommy. When there was the tie, I was like, I have no idea what's going to happen here. And then obviously we all had to stand at the front. And then when I got that text message saying that us four have to choose who goes, I was like, I'm not leaving.

12:29Like, I'll be so honest. Like the only reason I'm up here is because of you, Tommy. So I'm not going. Tommy was not backing down. Kept speaking, but to the group. And then everyone kept going, stop talking to us. it's you four that have to decide.

12:43Halle Brown:Yeah, it's not like he's got to convince anyone else. But then I kept speaking to the group because we had to stay looking in a line as well. So I kept speaking to the group and I also had a feeling it was going to go to a group vote because we weren't going to come to a conclusion. Then obviously Mika got upset and I think she got upset as well when she was sat at the fire pit because she knew at that moment in time that she was the least compatible. And then obviously she got upset again and said, listen, guys, I think it's my time. I'm happy to go. I don't think there's anyone. Yeah, yeah. Encouraging that.

13:18To be fair, I was obviously like, obviously back yourself, like back your case, but also like if that's one girl willing to go, I'm more than happy to stay. Yeah. Do you know what I mean?

13:29Halle Brown:And do you think she was being genuine with that or do you think she was kind of doing that righteous thing of being like, look, I'm fine if I go to make herself look better should she have left? I'm not too sure because when Sam and Namibia went, she got a bit upset as well in the changing room saying that she feels like it should have been her. So I feel like she did have a bit, some sort of guilt that's like, I've generally explored every connection. I do think I should go. But then for some reason, the Islanders just came to a concluded decision that she's just not going, like she's out of it.

14:06Yeah, there was this bit where she was, it was just absolute, you know, head whip, where she's crying. And then the next minute she's like, okay, let's count the votes. Did that whole process go on a lot longer than we saw? Yeah. So we were probably stood there for about three hours, guys. No. Yeah, like generally, we could not come to a conclusion. I was actually like, we're going to be stood here till the sun goes down. Did you think of like tossing a coin or anything like that? Yes. So it got to a point. I obviously when Tommy kept saying you guys pick you guys pick um I think someone mentioned rock paper scissors and I was like if it's gonna carry on we might as well but then I was like I think I'd rather flip a coin because it's a better 50 50 than yeah you're a smart girl Hannah thank you thank you so I was like guys like can we get a coin like but obviously no one could interact because we've got to make the decision ourselves.

15:02And then obviously Mika and Tommy, and I just said, oh, go on then everyone pick because I'm not gonna lie, a lot of the girls were saying back in me and me. So I was like, if it's gonna be the Islanders, I've got an all right shot because I've got good relationships with the girls. Like I shouldn't be here anyway. So yeah, when everyone put their hands up and it was just for me, Tommy and Chidi. I mean, what really sent me and Chidi as well is like Chidi tried to stop everyone to explain his, like how saying this is really unfair before the voting closed. And Aiden kept going, I've not done my vote yet.

15:46I've not done my vote yet. And I was thinking to myself, oh, maybe he's saying this because he's going to vote me and Chidi. You know what I mean? Like, you know when you'd be like, oh, don't worry, don't worry. I've not voted yet. Like I thought it was one of them.

15:59Halle Brown:Like a false sense of ritual. Yeah, like I've not done my vote yet. I've not done my vote yet. Like just let me do my vote. And then he went, Mika and Tommy. And I was literally like, oh, is this a joke? Then obviously then I piped up again because I was like, guys, this really isn't fair. You've all said your reasonings are for Tommy and you've all just kept him, especially Lola, guys. That really, really surprised me. Lola voted for Tommy. and for all of their reasonings to be like, especially Tommy, sorry, Fitzsie's and Lola's reasoning to be like, we think that this one guy isn't genuine. His actions in the villa, obviously Ellie's Lola's friends as well.

16:42So he's done stuff to Ellie. So then for her to put her hand up, I was literally like, okay. Very confusing moment for me. I'll be really honest. Did you say anything to Lola afterwards? No, because I was getting upset. Ellie came up to me and was like, I really didn't want you to go. Like she put her hand up for me. I just kind of gave everyone like, you know, little side hugs. And then I literally had to be on my way, like straight away. So yeah, that really confused me. And then Sean at the end, you can hear it in the little clip after, but he said, everyone was like, it's not fair. It's not fair.

17:16And he went, yeah, I know it's not fair, but I've not known you long enough to know yours and Hallie's intentions. yeah but we already knew Tommy's intentions were bad final question on this sorry guys I know it's what are you gonna say to Tommy when he comes out nothing I'll be I'll be really honest like if I see him out like if he wants to come and say hello like hi you all right like I'm a very mutual like person I don't hold any grudges I hate that like I just think life's too short to be sad hold grudges anything like that yeah I'll obviously say hello yeah maybe if he messages me after the villa and is like i'm really sorry for how things panned out like hope you god wish you all the best cool but realistically we're gonna bump into each other at some point i think he'll be messaging you because he'll see how the public love you yes i want to get into some villa gossip now okay cool just really quick fire off the top of your head yeah lorenzo and jasmine yeah does cavern stand a chance are they getting back together you know what i actually don't really i don't really see that like i've only seen that in the same episodes you guys have seen that like it was very cavern's obsessed with Jasmine.

18:22Like, was obsessed when we were there. Like, they couldn't keep each other's, like, each other's hands off each other. Lorenzo, as you know, bit more of a nonchalant boy. Yeah. So, he's just like, he's getting into that lovey-dovey part which, from what we've seen now, don't know if he likes it or not. Okay, so watch this space. Watch this space, guys. Does Mika really like Sam Raj? Not too sure.

18:43Halle Brown:Ooh. See, I would have said she does. So, that's really interesting. Um, Joni, when I was in there, like, there wasn't really a talk of Samraj because it was like she was excited for the new bombshell, then didn't really feel chiddy, was going to break it off and then I left. Do you think she thinks Samraj is a safe option now she's been on the chopping block a few times? Because he's quite well liked. Potentially. The thing is though, he is a really good looking boy and he is pretty lovely in there. Very complimenting. Like when you walk past him, he's probably the only boy that every time I had like my evening outfit on, he'd be like, you look lovely, Halle.

19:17So I can see why she's attracted to him. Yeah, I could see what she's doing. Lola and Sean are getting zero airtime. What are they really liking in real life? Just really, really lovey-dovey. Are they as boring as they come across? They keep each other to each other, unless obviously they go and have a boy chat and girl chat. But they are, they're literally mum and dad in there. Like they do give a lot of people advice if they need it. But yeah, they're just chilling with each other, which is probably why, because no drama. They're just going with the flow. Yeah, they're just going with the flow.

19:49Halle Brown:They had lots of questions for you. Really? Okay. London XM says, is what other Islanders saying about Priya true? Why do people come out of the villa and keep talking bad about her? What vibe did you get? Are people talking bad about Priya? I really got on with Priya. They're saying kind of like game player. She's aware of the cameras. She's aware she's on Love Island, let's say. See, I didn't get that vibe from her at all. Good. Yeah, I really just thought she's very just Priya. Yeah. Like she is just her and being herself. Direct. Yeah. She's very direct. Okay. HMNA Ali says, since what have everything back, do you think Love Island edited conversations to push certain narratives?

20:34They probably, they definitely edit conversations because the conversations go on a lot longer than you guys see. So they definitely edited it, edited a certain way. Obviously it's a show at the end of the day. So they've got some sort of drama. However, all them conversations and everything that happened did generally happen. Yeah. So that's good. Okay. Sapphire says, would you do All Stars? Oh, I'd definitely be up to doing All Stars. It's not put me off the experience at all. If the opportunity arises and they ask me, I'd 100 % be up for it. But who knows? Because I have to wait for them, don't I?

21:14Halle Brown:Fingers crossed. Fingers crossed. And Ms. Parker says, do you think any of the couples will make it through Casa? Ooh, good one. I really, really, really, really, really hope Finley and Ellie make it. Oh, okay. Really, really do. Because they're quite a new couple in the villa. They're a new couple. But obviously I walked in with Finley. And when I tell you, he is the most loveliest boy I've ever met. I don't know if it showed any of this, but just really quickly, he said we were talking about conversations and he was like, he was like I want to go and speak to Ellie again and I can't remember what someone said and he was like no I want to speak to her and make her feel something I don't just want it to be a chat.

21:53Halle Brown:Oh that's sweet. No honestly I was literally like Finlay please yeah go speak to her. Go get your babes. We need to protect him. We need to protect Finlay. Please protect. I know. Okay and then Monty says aside from Tommy who do you think is playing the biggest game and is there for fame?

22:13they're always rooting for the drama these days they are i'll be really honest with you i don't really know i really couldn't give you there's not like an obvious person that's like that yeah that's like you could be like they're in there for that do you know what i mean okay well um i've put my football top on for you because it's giving off so oh do you know the rule though no but you do because i and daddy do I actually do. People that don't know, Hallie's dad is a very famous footballer. Give us the offside rule. So the ball can't be played to a player. Like say if the ball is here. Oh, you can't even see my hands.

22:53No. So there's two defenders. Someone's here. Someone's here. The ball can't be played straight to the player. They have to receive the player before or in line with the defender so then they can run through. Oh, got it. Okay, well, everyone will be in the comments if you've got that wrong. If I have that wrong, I don't need the comment people that my dad's going to kill me. Did he watch Love Island or the World Cup? Do you know? Both. Two screens. I think he watched, when England wasn't on, he watched Love Island.

23:24Halle Brown:But he had to prioritise England. But he had to watch the games, guys. He had to watch the games. But he could get me on catch-ups, I'll know. What's the craziest football experience you've had going to watch him? Oh, my God. So many. Like, so, so many. I mean, I think when he was in the height of his career, I was still very young at United. But one of my core memories is I didn't know what he did, really. Like, he's just my dad at the end of the day. And I remember I really wanted to drive home with him. And he was like, Hallie, like, I have to go and sign people's autographs. Like, it's a lot.

23:57And I was like, I just want to go in the car with you. Like, okay, cool. I'll come with you. I'll hold your hand. I'll be fine. I have never been so overwhelmed in my life. and my dad is like the kindest person ever. He will make sure he gets everyone. So at the end of the game, he'd go all down one side, sign everyone's, then walk to the next side. But obviously little like seven year old me or however old I was, like people screaming like, where's, where's, where's, sign this, sign that. I literally was stood there like, oh my God. And then I remember we sat in his car and I went, I don't want to do that ever again.
