Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announcing$10 ,000 bonus checks now for TSA officers who worked without pay during the six-week government shutdown. She called the payments a reward for exemplary service under strain. And Boeing defense workers have approved a new contract that will end a more than three-month strike that has delayed the production of fighter jets and other programs. It includes 24 percent wage increases over five years. Workers expected to return to factories as soon as Sunday.
0:38And Verizon is planning to cut about 15 ,000 jobs as it faces fierce competition for wireless service and home Internet customers. The cuts are set to take place in the next week. And shares of SoftBank falling for the third straight day, this after the company revealed that it sold its entire stake in NVIDIA for$5.8 billion. This week's decline, adding to losses from last week. The stock is down now more than 25 percent since November 1st. And take a look at this. A milestone for Blue Origin. It launched its orbital rocket for the first time with cargo and landed the rocket's booster on a barge in the Atlantic Ocean, the company's New Glenn rocket, deploying two NASA science satellites that will fly to Mars and study the planet's atmosphere.
1:21And it was a huge day for Blue Origin and the whole space ecosystem as a new real competitor emerges, if you will, in the space race. something that Jeff Bezos and that team has been working on for a very, very long time. It was a very big moment for them. You hear the applause, I suppose, in the control room. Yeah, it was, I mean, if you get a chance to go online and watch it, just to see the smiles on everybody's face and you could just see, this is one of those things where people spend years to work on to get something like this to happen. And it was really, it'll almost make you tear up to watch, honestly.
