0:01Hi, I'm Andrew Ross Sorkin, co-host of Squawk Box, and this is five things to know before today's opening bell. The price for Warner Brothers Discovery could head higher. Bloomberg now reporting that both Netflix and Paramount Skydance have signaled they have the ability to raise their bids for the media giant. Separately, longtime media investor Mario Gabelli telling Bloomberg he'll likely tender his clients' Warner Brothers Discovery shares to Paramount in an effort to spark a bidding war for Warner. Meantime, computer memory maker and video supplier SK Hanks is considering now listing its shares in the U.S.

Meantime, Disney nominating former Apple executive Jeff Williams to join its board, which would expand to 11 members. Williams served as Apple's chief operating officer from 2015 until his retirement earlier this year. And drugmaker Eli Lilly is saying it's going to be spending$6 billion to build a manufacturing plant in Alabama. That's to help increase production of its experimental anti-obesity pill and other drugs. And European food delivery giant Hero saying that it's evaluating its strategic options.
