First up, shares of Texas Instruments down sharply in the pre-market. The chipmaker beating second quarter profit and revenue estimates and the sales in the company's analog chip business beating expectations as well. But Texas Instruments' third quarter profit forecast did fall short and that stock is down by more than 12 percent this morning. Elon Musk's XAI is working to raise up to$12 billion to gain access to advanced NVIDIA chips to help train the Grok chatbot. That's according to The Wall Street Journal.
0:39XAI is coming off a recent$10 billion stock and debt sale. And speaking of Elon Musk, sales of Tesla vehicles in California falling more than 20 percent in the second quarter. Registrations totaled about 41 ,000 from April to June. That's according to the California New Car Dealers Association. That number is down from more than 52 ,000 California registrations in the second quarter of last year. And Hershey telling retailers that it will hike prices on average by double digits across its candy lineup because of the high price of cocoa. A spokesperson said that the price increases were not because of tariffs, but rather to higher ingredient costs.
1:20Cocoa prices have shot up in the last two years because of supply problems in Ghana and the Ivory Coast. And sources tell CNBC that President Trump met with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos at the White House last week. That meeting is said to have lasted for more than an hour. It's unclear what was discussed.
