0:01Hi, I'm Joe Kernan, co-host of Squawk Box, and this is five things to know before today's opening bell. Shares of Coinbase are tumbling. Second quarter earnings beat estimates, but revenue fell short. Retail trading volume grew 16 percent, but that was below expectation. Despite today's decline, the stock is still up more than 50 percent over the past year. I saw someone raise their price target earlier, and I just happened to look at the market cap. Coinbase now$80 billion. Strategy itself, if you look at strategy's market cap. No. 115 or something. Where's Circle now, too? Circle, all of them.

0:43None of them are, actually, they're a little more than Smegma. Figma. What is it? Figma. Figma. Figma. Figma. Sorry. Sorry. Roku shares also falling despite reporting better than expected second quarter results. Company guided through third quarter earnings and profit a bit above consensus. Roku stock is up more than 30 % in the last three months. NVIDIA denying its chips have backdoors that would allow anyone to access or control them. That follows Chinese regulators summoning company officials to explain what they fear are risks in NVIDIA's H20 chip. The U.S. recently gave, as you know, the company the green light to begin exporting those chips to China after a ban earlier this year.

1:28CSX has spoken with Goldman Sachs about possibly doing a deal with Arrival. like us two that's according to well we have no rivals left now the original story was that goldman was talking to berkshire hathaway about burlington northern santa fe but warren called in to tell us that that was not the case now the rumor is that goldman where was that goldman's working for csx now yeah but maybe goldman was always working for csx could be probably well yeah warren called in and said do we put him on and we no we didn't put him he called in a commercial break and just said, hey, I talked to Greg Abel.

2:05Nobody here who makes decisions has had any conversations with Goldman about it. It was what he told us. I called in about Larry. And you know what? It's not easy when you do a phoner. It's not easy. It's true. I've called in before. It's no good. Because you can't hear what, you know, it's... Well, anytime you're doing a remote, you can't see and talk to people. Things break up because nobody's got a landline. We don't even have one anymore that works. And shares of Reddit are sharply higher because I only did four. The company reported its most profitable quarter ever. Its current quarter sales forecast came in much higher than analysts expected.

2:39Reddit said it is seeing more active advertisers on its platform and its efforts to attract more small and media size advertisers are paying off. Why are you laughing? Because somebody said my ear feels like 40. 40 things to watch? Slow roll that. Here's the thing. And I will admit I interrupted you. You can't get everything you need with only five. I've said this many, many times. You need at least six or seven. We'll be back later today with an all-new Squawk Pod, our daily podcast featuring the best of Squawk Box.
