Officials telling NBC News that President Trump considering deploying up to 1 ,000 National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. to help bring more security to the nation's capital. The president planning to hold a news conference today on D.C. crime. That's going to happen at 10 a.m. Eastern time. Meantime, President Trump urging China to buy more American soybeans. In a late-night post on Truth Social, the president saying he hopes China, quote, will quickly quadruple its soybean orders, which Trump suggested would help with a shortage in the country as well as reduce the trade deficit.
