The Supreme Court agreeing to hear the White House's appeal of the lower court ruling that many of President Trump's tariffs are illegal. It's going to hear oral arguments in the first week of November. In other tariff news, tensions could be easing between the U.S. and India. In a post on Truth Socially yesterday, President Trump saying India and the U.S. are continuing negotiations to address the trade barriers between our two nations. Then last night on X, Modi reposted the president's message and said, our teams are working to conclude these discussions at the earliest.
0:40A short time later, the president reposted Modi's message. So a little bit of back and forth there. Meantime, shares of Apple, they are lower. The stock falling about 1.5 % yesterday after the company unveiled the iPhone 17. Apple announcing four new iPhone models, including the lighter, thinner iPhone 17 Air. And Microsoft reportedly turning to an OpenAI rival, Anthropic, for new AI tools in its Office 365 suite. The information reporting that Microsoft will use Anthropic's clawed model for Excel and PowerPoint after developers found it beat OpenAI on financial modeling and presentation design.
1:17Microsoft telling CNBC it remains committed to its long-term partnership with OpenAI. And shares of GameStop, their higher profit jumping from a year ago, thanks to a 63 % increase in collectibles revenue. Supreme Court, they're busy, I guess. Can't get to it until the first week of November, you're suggesting? Expedited. Expedited. Expedited. It's September 10th. They should be doing it next week. I don't know. No. Hey, what are you guys doing for lunch? It is expedited. And usually that's what I mean. But that does that not show you something about the way governments work? No, but it's not about governments.
1:56This is about having a court and justices that can sit and really think through study. They know what the issues are. But they they have to. This is very important. They already did it in the appeals court. Testing a lot of these things and they want to make sure that they rule properly on it. I get it. This is no makes sense. Too long. November. They should be. They ought to be able to let them do some research. Let's talk about what are you guys doing later today? That's what I'd call each one of them up. Amy, where are you going to be? We're doing this in a sit-down dinner tonight. We're going to do this at lunch.
2:27We're going to hash it out. Let's figure this out. But it just, when I heard that. That's the one part of government that I like. But this is kind of an important thing. It is an important thing. Because we're in limbo. Businesses are in limbo. Nobody knows what to do with the money they're collecting. A lot of tariffs are going to be allowed anyway under different authorities. But I want them to get this right. Right. And this is the Supreme Court is the one the one area of government where you want. I don't think you need two months necessarily. But but and so now Congress can say, hey, we don't need to do anything till we find out what the Supreme Court's going to do.
2:59So then they don't do anything. Congress wasn't going to do anything anyway. Congress wasn't going to do anything. They're never going to do anything. It's not on the table.
