In short
The episode argues that social media should be a revenue engine, not a vanity-metrics game. It frames social media as a trust-building system that leads to sales, leads, and profitability, and says most businesses fail by posting randomly, chasing followers/likes/views, and treating social as a megaphone.

Okay, the truth. Followers don't pay your bills. Likes don't create wealth. Views don't build companies. Revenue does. Sales do. Profitability does. Today I'm going to walk you through what I believe are the 10 social media strategies that actually build revenue, okay? Not vanity metrics, not popularity. It's not about those things like internet fame, okay?
0:39We want revenue from social media. We want sales from social media, okay? And again, social media is not a popularity contest unless you're just trying to monetize the social media. That's a whole different strategy, okay? In my opinion, it's a trust-building system. And it's a trust-building system that you should be using out there in the marketplace. If you look at the biggest social media mistake that people are making today, most businesses treat social media like a megaphone, okay?
1:08The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:Hey, look at me. Look at my products. Look at my offer. Look at what I know. Look at my company. Nobody really cares, right? And again, vanity metrics today might feel good, but they don't pay the bills. So we need to get social media that pays the bills. That's why people go to me and go, Brad, you don't have as many social media followers as other guys and gals. Yeah, I might not have as many followers, but I make more money from it. It's not about the revenue from YouTube monetization. Customers care about themselves. They care about their problems, their opportunities, their goals. The businesses that win use social media to create attention, trust, leads, and revenue.
1:50Everything else, in my opinion, is just noise. You've got to lead it to revenue.
1:56The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:When you look at your strategy for social media, and this is really important to understand, most people have posts, but they have no strategy. Let's go through the 10 strategies today, and you pick which strategy or which two strategies might be right for you. Strategy number one, the fastest way is to think of the social proof strategy. The fastest way to create trust, in my opinion, people trust what other people do. This is why testimonials, reviews, case studies, customer stories all work. Every business should be documenting client wins, customer results, before and after stories, transformation stories.
2:33The trust then becomes visible. The businesses that don't, well, the businesses that win don't claim they're great. Their customers prove that they are great. So when you think about the social proof strategy, it's not about social media. It's about when someone looks you up on Instagram or on LinkedIn, they find proof that what you're saying is real. They see before and afters.
2:58The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:They read customer stories. They see video testimonials. They see the ratings and reviews. So if you think about some questions for you around this, how many testimonials do you currently have? How many should you have? How many of them are video testimonials? How many customer success stories have you published in your blog online? Most businesses, I feel, need 10 times more proof than they currently have. So if you want the social proof strategy, definitely go down that road. So strategy number two, the tribe building strategy. The biggest brands don't create customers, they create tribes. You know this, and I've talked about it before.
3:35The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:Apple, Nike, Harley. Well, Nike's probably done a bit. CrossFit's taken over. Honor's taken over. Tesla definitely has. We at Action Coach, we believe that the tribe is what we're aiming to build. But social media-wise, if you're building a tribe, it's because people want to belong. People want identity. They want to be a part of a community, right? So if you're featuring your best customers, if you're featuring the tribe, featuring events, featuring the people that are a part of it and they get to see themselves on there. So ask yourself things like, you know, what does your tribe believe? What do they stand for?
4:11The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:What language do they use? What mission are they pursuing? Tribes create loyalty and loyalty creates growth. I'll give you us as an example. If we wanted to be the entrepreneur tribe, everything we post would be about how great it is being an entrepreneur, how entrepreneurs are the battlers, the fighters, the job givers, how entrepreneurs are amazing. We could celebrate the tribe and what the tribe believes and what the tribe feels. Okay, if you want that one, run down that road. Strategy three is the authority strategy. And yes, you can mix and match strategies, but I prefer to pick one or at most two.
4:45The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:Authority strategy. Authority lowers resistance. Let's put it that way. When people see you as the authority, objections decrease, trust increases, conversion rate improves. Authority content includes things like frameworks, lessons, predictions, opinions, case studies, expertise. If you think of me using the authority strategy, you're pretty damn correct. And this is one of the strongest strategies for coaches, consultants, professional service providers, B2B companies in a lot of cases. The more authority you create, the less selling you need. And so when someone feels like you are the authority, they'll reach out.
5:25The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:I know for me, I have people like you probably who watch the pod and then after a period of time, they'll go, hey, I need to reach out to Brad or reach out to Action Coach. I need to get a coach because I need what they're teaching type thing. So that brings us to strategy number four, which again, I use partially as well. The education strategy, the modern customer today self-educates, okay, which means that the business that teaches how to buy, how to use, The business that teaches the best often wins. Educational content, obviously, how-tos, tutorials, webinars, podcasts, exactly like I'm talking to you right now.
6:04The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:Articles, lessons, education, strategy creates trust. And so that trust creates a level of readiness to buy and then the readiness turns into the sale or into the conversion. If you teach more and sell less, you build that trust and the readiness to buy. You make it easier for the customer to make a decision. So any of those first four strategies is a strong strategy. But again, listen to all 10. Maybe go back through them all again once you've listened to them all and pick which strategy suits you the most. Number five is the entertainment strategy. Now, you'll know I don't use this one. Let's be honest, people are on social media to be entertained.
6:48The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:They're there to doom scroll in some cases, have some fun, have a smile, have a laugh. In many cases, they're not there to be educated, not there to be sold to. They're there to be entertained, right? They want the emotion, the laughter, the fun, the enjoyment. So that doesn't mean you have to become a comedian, of course. It means becoming interesting. stories, humor, pattern interrupts, unexpected ideas. Entertainment creates attention and attention creates an opportunity and this is your top of funnel strategy in most cases. The trick is combining entertainment with some form of education, some form of emotion that moves them closer.
7:30If you think about it in a slightly formulaic way, entertainment gets tension, education builds trust authority creates action if you use all three of them obviously you're doing a phenomenal job out there in the marketplace but entertainment emotion education the three e's
7:48The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:are a big part of it i think the entertainment strategy is a phenomenal strategy to those who are good at it and you see it happening time after time strategy number six is the personal brand strategy and i love this one people follow people they want to know what's going on in your life They want to know what's happening, what your family's doing, if it's a family thing. They're not after logos. And I think this is one of the biggest shifts in modern marketing, founder-led businesses have an enormous advantage. People want personality. They want authenticity. They want stories. They want opinions.
8:23And that's where I know my short-form social media, the more stories I bring people into, the more it is. But they also want opinions. They don't want you to be sitting on the fence. Give an opinion. They want to know your values if you align with them sort of thing.
8:37The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:And your personal brand creates trust faster than your company brand ever could. And so, yes, you have to build both. Don't jump around that. But don't hide behind the logo. You've got to build that personal brand out there in the marketplace to make certain that you're connecting with the audience in that case. Again, that's number six of the ten. I don't expect you to use all six. I expect you to use one or two of these. Pick a strategy, know your lane, and do it. Strategy number seven would be the lead generation strategy. Eventually, social media must generate leads and revenue, not immediately, of course, but eventually.
9:18So examples are webinars, lead magnets that they can download, sort of thing, assessments, quizzes, pricing tools, free guides, consultations, even free events that they can come join, dinners.
9:33The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:The key here in my thought is don't ask before you've earned attention, if that makes sense. Too many businesses try to sell before they've built any trust. And lead generation works best when trust already exists. So your idea in the lead generation strategy is to consistently be adding value that brings people to say, hey, yeah, I'm ready. Hey, yeah, I'm ready. Hey, I want to do that hey i want to find out about that it's that raise your hand idea strategy number eight one i love dearly is the community strategy in fact it's one of the most underrated strategies because community creates retention referrals engagement belonging so instead of using social media to go out and get new customers you're using your social media to build a community of your existing customers, your existing members.
10:26And the future of business is not broadcasting, it's participation, if that makes sense. So asking questions, having them become a part of that community,
10:36The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:creating discussion groups online, celebrating wins, bringing them together for an event, a live event, a Zoom chat, highlighting your members, building relationships, getting members to connect with other members. The strongest brands are communities. and you can have a social media that's only job is to reinforce the existing community. It's not about getting out there to get new people, but it will because they'll see the community and go, hey, maybe I want to join that. Strategy nine is the omnipresence strategy. People trust what they repeatedly see. The goal isn't just posting more. Your goal is to be everywhere, to be seen everywhere.
11:14And that's where the clipping services come in today
11:16The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:or doing clipping yourself, creating 10 different channels with 10 pieces a day on them. Using your podcast, doing a podcast a day and clipping it into 10, 20 items a day. YouTube, being everywhere, LinkedIn, email, InstaFace, TikTok, Pinterest, AI search, Google search, SEO. It's the same message, but it's on multiple platforms, delivered in multiple ways on multiple times a day sort of thing. that consistency of visibility, familiarity creates the trust and trust creates business. So the omnipresent strategy today is a very valuable one. But again, it's one you've got to make your core strategy.
11:58Don't just pick one or 10 of the strategies. You got to look at it. So it's final one of the 10 strategy, the movement strategy. And this is really the highest level of it.
12:09The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:It's where movements are bigger than products. Movements are bigger than companies. It's like a charity. A movement is all about the mission. Think about Tesla sort of made it a mission. Patagonia is a phenomenal example of this. Apple used to be a great example of this. People don't just buy, they join. You know, for me with Action Coach, our movement is world abundance through business re-education. Our movement is a business that works without you. Our movement is entrepreneurial freedom. Our movement is business ownership. Our movement is contribution. Our movement is business owners helping business owners, entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs, you helping your friends discover Brad Sugars or discover Action Coach so that they can learn and grow too.
12:52Movements scale faster than marketing campaigns. Why? Because the people recruit others into the movement. And so if your social media becomes a movement strategy, again, none of these strategies, you can't just change instantly and go, okay, I'm gonna be a movement tomorrow. You got to plan it. You got to think of it.
13:10The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:So if you think of social media stack, okay, then let's put all 10 strategies together, okay, and think about the complete social media strategy. I guess if you think about it in total, you could probably say the best strategy completes all 10, but it's almost impossible for a company to do all 10. If you think of social proof, tribe building, authority, education, entertainment, personal brand, what else is on my list? Lead gen, community, omnipresence and movement. Most businesses use one or two. Elite businesses, I guess, if you're a Gary Vee, you could probably do all 10 if you got 20 people in your department doing this sort of stuff.
13:57The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:But you're probably going to need 5, 10 channels to do all 10. You're going to need a channel in each language and all of that sort of stuff. So the practical approach to this is not all 10. The practical approach is saying, okay, let's build our content calendar. On Monday, we might do authority stuff. On Tuesday, we might do education. On Wednesday, it might be personal branding. On Thursday, we might go back to authority or we might do social proof. Or do you know what I mean? Like on Friday, we might do a community thing. On Saturday, we might do some form of entertainment or some more social aspect of what we're doing on Sunday.
14:37The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:We might do a movement. I like to think of it more, though, that you pick one or two strategies and do all of the week about that. Are we social proof, social proof, social proof and authority type thing? It's got to be simple. It's got to be structured and it's got to be repeatable. Now, if you do two right now and then add a third in six months time and add a fourth and fantastic. I wouldn't go with more than one or two straight away unless you've been doing this quite some time. The goal of social media is not followers, views, and likes, gang. The goal of social media is not comments or all that stuff.
15:14Although sharing is definitely part of one of the goals and people mentioning you is part of one of the goals. I mean, those things all matter, but they're not the actual goal. The actual goal is trust, authority, visibility, community, which all lead to revenues.
15:29The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:All of it. The only goal of social media, any media, the reason you run ads on radio, the reason you run ads on meta, the reason you do Google advertising, all of it is revenue and profitability. So everything else supports those outcomes. So no matter which strategy you pick or which combination of strategies you pick, you've got to make certain that the whole aim of all of it is people to raise their hand to say, I'm interested in buying and move through to a purchase. So if you think of which of the 10 strategies am I strongest at right now, which of the 10 am I weakest at right now? Do I have enough social proof?
16:08The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:Am I building authority? Am I creating community? Am I visible enough? Am I leading a movement or am I simply posting for algorithm? You know, playing to the algorithm is great if you want to monetize the social media. But building a business is what social media really has to do. So it's playing to your customer base and your prospect base, not just to the world. So the mistakes that you see people make of chasing followers, random posting, no authority strategy or social proof strategy, none of the strategy, no lead gen, no community building, no personal branding, no consistency. All of those mistakes are because they haven't done a plan for it, okay?
16:49The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:So, again, you can take the transcript of this video or this pod and you can put it into social media and say, hey, which strategies should I be using? Social media doesn't fail, in my opinion. Bad strategy fails. So pick your strategy. Where are you strong? Where do you need to get stronger? which of the one or two or maybe three strategies suit your business that will generate revenue and profitability. I mean, if you go back to each of the 10 strategies and rate yourself one to 10, find your lowest score, maybe you want to fix that one. Maybe it doesn't suit you. Maybe you see your highest ones and double down on those.
17:28The $100M Entrepreneur Podcast Host:One improved area can transform your entire social media performance. but the focus on one or two or maybe three of the strategies will get you much further down the road. Ultimately, gang, I want you to remember this, okay? Social media isn't about becoming famous. It's about becoming trusted. The businesses that win don't build, don't just build audience. They build communities. They build authority. They build movements. And when you do that, revenue and profitability become the natural result for you.
18:04Thank you.
