In short
Episode topic: Jesse Solomon discusses Bravo’s Summer House dynamics, his public dating life, the fallout from friends lying about hookups, surviving testicular cancer twice, and how he stays mentally/physically healthy while touring as a singer.
Guest backgrounds
Jesse Solomon is a musician who studied at the University of Miami, performs on a 16–17 city tour, and has appeared on Summer House. He has spoken publicly about testicular cancer and later mental-health challenges after treatment. He also worked with/appeared in a segment involving Sunrise Day Camp, a cancer-focused day camp for kids and siblings.
Key claims
He says Summer House is filmed from real-life behavior and proximity accelerates relationships. He argues the reunion required genuine accountability, not just partial apologies. He describes being “happy to be alive” post-cancer, but struggling with gratitude guilt at times.
Notable examples
He recounts hearing rumors that two close friends hooked up behind his back; he compares the emotional “crossfire” to two couples breaking up. Cancer details: first at 24 (one testicle removed), then spread to lymph nodes/stomach requiring chemo and going bald; later a “year five” check revealed two issues that weren’t cancer. He mentions his “Happy to Be Here” tour and volunteering at hospitals/camp.

0:14I am a super fan of Summer House. I've watched every single season. I could dissect it like a cadaver on the table. I was saying like the game operation that you used to play when you were little, I will pull the funny bone out. I love watching the human dynamics of it. I'm obsessed. It's not just the reality TV that I wanted you on the show for. There's so many different facets of you that I find fascinating. And you just played a concert last night. Until what time? Well, the show went from about 9 to 10. And then I got to meet everybody after for probably almost an hour. And then we packed up all the gear, took the Sprinter van back to the hotel and went to Waffle House.
0:56and no alcohol no booze and i feel bad because people will buy me shots and stuff and i'm just like i just can't take that so do you look ever or like you're done no i mean i'm on a show about partying in the hamptons like so you're just when you're doing that you're you're taking it easy yeah i just figure like it's uh i've got a lot of work to do and i want to give it my best and i'm already having trouble giving my best performance every night with all the travel singing for an hour at a time like I trained a lot to get to a place where I can sing for an hour at a time well but it's still like with the flying the driving dehydration like difficult yeah when you go on this show did you have the strategy of wanting to do music no I've sang my entire life okay I went to music school at the University of Miami and I got we can talk about my career path and how I got here but I went into the show thinking oh maybe I'll launch like a consumer product at some point I didn't think I would launch a music career but it just was like the thing making me happy and what I wanted to do I'm on a 16 we just added a show in Atlantic City 17 city tour so what number two what number of on the tour was this show last last night was show number six and oh damn you're just getting into it after this podcast i'm so blessed to be here with you too thanks for having me i'm driving to dallas the van the band is picking me up and i have a show in dallas tonight and are you single on this 17 city tour my single yeah yeah okay so single no attachments none I have a crush you have a crush but here's my thing when guys say you have a crush let me talk to you about this when you say that you have a crush that could insinuate the crushes in New York or San Diego maybe you have 10 crushes and the crush that's listening thinks they're the crush I'm not saying this for her you're saying it because you have a crush yeah I don't think she's listening but she's not on the show no more crushes on the show I hope this summer this crush isn't being as reciprocated as i would like so we'll see where it goes the guy always ends up falling in love with the girl that doesn't like him back yeah she's she's playing the game well unfortunately i don't like to play games you don't like to play games no no no no i'm not like i'm gonna wait to text back like if i like you you'll know it and if you like me back we'll go on dates and hopefully become something more than friends.
3:42How do you manage going on this show that is like the, I feel like you guys are like the rock star of Bravo right now. So like you're on this show that's like everyone's watching it. And then you also have your real life and you're touring and you say you have a crush. How do you manage balancing all of that? The show is based off of our real lives. So you just kind of show up and try your best to be yourself with giant cameras in your face. So I would say that's like my main objective is don't do anything I wouldn't do in real life because I'm on Summer House. Obviously, like you're in this microcosm and relationships happen faster, friendships get deeper, quicker.
4:29You're talking about really vulnerable stuff. so it all kind of spirals quickly and like that's what creates a good show I think but our show is based off of genuine real friendships and it's not just like a show friendship I think you can feel if it was fake and I think that's why what just happened was like so ground shattering like hurt everyone so bad because we had such a good thing going and for our friends to just like betray our trust really hurt everyone not to talk about that whole situation does that mean so like can people go back now and continue to do the show i'm like i'm i'm in but i'm not as in i'm on the outside i'm watching all this now and i'm hearing about obviously i hear about all this like can can you guys be like all right back to work or i think it's going to take time to repair the the trust that's been lost if possible um it's been tough for me because i'm kind of like friends with everybody.
5:34Obviously, like Sierra and Kyle are the people that deserve the sympathy here, not me. But yeah, just like hurts deep when you get lied to by people that you're like really close friends with. When you had the epiphany of realizing that two of your best friends were hooking up behind everyone's back, were you, was it like got punched? How did you feel yeah I'd been hearing the rumors for a while so I wasn't like surprised but I was kind of like shocked that they would lie to me um yeah it was really upsetting I mean I was trying to explain it to my husband yeah and I'm like it's like if you and I lived in a house I love when people try to explain it it's like so it's hard to explain but I said if I was he has a best friend named Weston if I was having sex with Weston and then the girl that Weston used to have sex with and date was your best friend was my best friend right did I explain it right yeah I mean it's like you have two couples they both break up two people hook up with each other and you've got these like friends that are left in the crosshair crossfire yeah and like everybody's getting hurt for a different reason yeah like west and kyle were friends too people are forgetting that like that was one of his buddies so wait the guy's name is west yeah oh no it's west oh west oh that's now i'm gonna get really fucking confused because i just because now i'm thinking about westin but it's west just don't just don't get involved how do you feel and i'm sure you feel happy about how Sierra has been received by the public.
7:21Yeah. I mean, I guess that's a silver lining of this whole situation happening to her. Yeah. Sierra is a really good person and, uh, she cares a lot about her friends and she's taught me a lot of like good lessons of things that like, you just wouldn't typically think of as a boy. Um, so I'm just like grateful to her and I'm glad that everybody else sees how amazing she is. What's a lesson that she's taught you? Well, I mean, this summer, this past summer, um, I thought I was doing the right thing by checking with my buddy to see if he would be upset if I pursued his ex. And I didn't realize that that could make her feel objectified.
8:18She obviously means way more to me than just like somebody I would want to hook up with. And so I never meant to make her feel that way. And it really hurt me to see how upset she was. I wish I had spoken to her first. And obviously, I was going to have a more serious conversation with her after I had talked to West about it. but uh yeah she taught me a good lesson that like you can't just be cavalier in the way that you go about dating and does this stuff get real messy just because you guys are in such close proximity and there's maybe nobody else around is that what happens you're like in a fishbowl with all these cameras and you're with each other all day long and so everybody's kind of like oh well like it kind of reminds of you know when you're in school as a kid you kind of just like date within the school because you're not out like but then this is even more microscopic is that what happens Yeah, I think like proximity is like a really big thing.
9:13Like you end up dating the people that you're spending time with. You end up friends with people that are close to you. You fall apart with friends that are in different states over time because like proximity is a big factor in relationships. so yeah if we're like going to the hamptons and only with each other for 48 hours straight like you know what's one date you spend two hours with someone like that first weekend in the house you've already slept under the same roof with for all these hours like it's like if you hang out with somebody for a full weekend it's like what 10 dates yep so when you go back to explain to Michael.
9:52So, so Jesse dated one of the girls in the house, you guys sort of, no, you Lexi, Jesse, Lexi long. This is a long time ago. You dated one of the girls in the house. Here's my question. Would you do it again in the future? Is that off limits for you? No, going back to my point about like doing what you would do in real life. Like this is my real life. So yeah, I would, I would definitely date somebody that I was attracted to on the show. i would take it way slower okay i just like didn't see that's another lesson sierra taught me she's like slow the fuck down yeah and i didn't see a reason to slow down i was like i like this girl she likes me we're having a great time you guys were cute too why wait sweet is the crush christine cavallari i mean that's this whole separate crush yeah i'm obsessed with her oh Oh, okay.
10:48So that's a separate crush. But I think we're just friends. Okay. Because you guys would be cute. Totally. I'm just throwing it out there in the ether. Yeah. What do you think, Kristen? Get back to us. When all of this comes out, how is Andy Cohen involved in all of it? Is he texting you guys? Is he waiting for the reunion? What is his energy on everything that's been going on? I think Andy feels for us. You know, the reunion was really intense. um he actually sent me a nice text after the reunion because he saw like how hurt i was um and you know he he went on and made that video being like i've done 150 reunions that was like one of the more intense reunions i've ever done um so yeah he's just like the facilitator you know he does watch what happens he does the reunion and uh he's not like entrenched in the friend group but he sees it all he's like i'm so sorry for you this is gonna be a fucking ratings juggernaut andy cohen said that that was the most i saw i saw that i'm not that under a rock i did see that part reunion that's that is crazy that he said it was the most intense reunion out of 150 reunions yeah i i cried like a handful of times i was crying all day i was a mess carl's a mess I was a mess.
12:08Are you crying because of how this has affected the group's dynamic? Are you crying because you don't have anyone to talk to about this very it's this is a very specific niche thing that you guys are going through? I was crying because I hadn't taken the time to deal with the emotions and the lying and I thought that West was going to come to the reunion with something that was going to make people feel better and that we were going to be able to walk out of there not turning the page but at least having apologized and being able to move forward and like maybe west and sierra could somehow like take another two-year path to being friends again but it didn't feel that way.
13:02So who are the people the most upset with? This guy West or the woman involved or both? Both. Both. Who is the audience more upset with? I mean I think they're just pretty disgusted with both of them right now. Who should I be upset with Lauren? I think it's a really hard situation. I think there's a lot of layers to it. I'm pissed at both of them. And I think also there's a lot of things that we probably don't see. So I think I'm not I don't like to be the judge and juror. That doesn't work well. I feel like sometimes the public wants to be like judging. And the problem with that is that they don't get to see every single thing.
13:41And you could correct me if I'm wrong and be like, no, you've seen everything. But it feels like there's like more. No, I mean, there's 42 and a half minutes and we're in the house for 48 hours. Like you don't see everything. And then there's our real lives outside of the house. So I didn't see everything with Wes and Amanda and I was probably like around it the most. And so when your friends are telling you that there's nothing going on and it's easy to just believe them like, oh, OK, you guys could you not sense like any energy or anything? No. Yeah, I could. You could look back to you. You could tell there was a vibe going on.
14:18Yeah, there was like a series of events where I was like, you guys are totally fucking. and they were like no west is my boy like and west is like dude you'd be the first person i would tell i was like okay are you afraid to go out in public with them right now um uh afraid maybe afraid's the wrong word um hesitant i mean as a couple yeah of course i don't want to it's just like unnecessary uh drama in my life like i have this whole tour planned i'm releasing music and this stuff all happens and like this becomes the focus um like wes is supposed to come to my show in kansas city with his family and i'm like i don't know am i supposed to tell him not to come like that's a guy that's been there for me he's been a real friend um but then again like i don't have patience for people who lie and hook up with exes without a conversation prior like that's happened to me in the past and so i know how it feels if like one of your best friends hooks up with one of your exes so are people giving you shit thinking that you might have known more than you did yeah he picks up fast he i did not tell him that that's not on the note card yeah that's been a whole thing that i guess i haven't really spoken about um but i kind of just ignore it because i know the truth yeah but yeah i'm assuming the reason i pick up on that i'm assuming if you guys were that close and you know how guys are like we guys are you become boys with someone so that i would assume that people like oh this guy must have known yeah that's probably yeah there's less of that now and i think as the reunion airs it'll be pretty clear what i knew and didn't know amanda apologized to me right away um after they released the statement saying i'm sorry that we dragged you into this um because she knew you weren't as aware as people were yeah i mean she knew she knew that she lied to me and uh yeah west west didn't pick up on the fact that like i've been getting heat for people thinking that i knew um but it's not a big deal You know, what I see, can I tell you my dynamic?
16:44Hell yeah. There's a bit of a liaison fairness and a blasé-ness from West that is not, is what I see the cast in you not liking. It feels like instead of him coming and saying, I made a really big mistake and I was out of line and I'm sorry. he there's a kind of like this like lays on fair blase ness that i think people are like it's almost like a beta blocker maybe like it's it's not an acknowledgement of he's not apologetic yeah there's not accountability this is what i see i haven't seen the reunion yeah well he does apologize but that's kind of like all he does like he's i'm sorry i shouldn't have lied i know that now you can't believe anything that i say because i lied but i'm sorry uh but he didn't i mean andy even calls him out for it like you see your friends are like torn up about this so that's debatable like it's like almost like it's almost like a detached he's detached well and he's been off social media and you know like KJ read that text and he's he's said something similar to me like he didn't realize the gravity of the situation because he hasn't been seeing all the negativity online um so yeah I think I think you're spot on but the problem is is like do you have to see the gravity of the public all throwing tomatoes to come with your tail between your legs and say and actually give a real genuine it's a good point so i think the reunion it sounds like you're stirring the fucking pot man i hear you i know you learn i'm i i told you i like human dynamics and i like to watch it all and i think what the cast was wanting at the reunion was some genuine accountability and um no ego lauren likes to drop a grenade in the middle of the dinner table and walk away and say oh no no i do this thing called prompts you'll love us so when we go on vacation we go with like the same 14 people and not every time you got to mix it up it's kind of like summer house but vacation and sounds like a show it's it's kind of a show it's a show it's a fucking show but the thing is is i do this thing called dinner prompts and it each prompt is like something to like stir it no it'll be like one of our friends will will be dating a brand new person or something and they'll be like, let's go around the table and talk about your craziest sexual experience and then you just like get to watch everybody kind of like...
19:28And the couples are probably like, that wasn't with me. She does this shit and she does it because she wants to be entertained. No, I like I just, well this is why I like reality television. It's like an outlet. No, I think that's a great idea. Who wants to just sit through the same dinner with 14 people every night on vacation? No, prompts are helpful. You like go through and everybody gets to kind of like do a topic like that. Yeah, we do that at summer house yeah and i mean it's fun so my point is it's just not filmed for the world this is my my thing with the reunion is i think they wanted some some closure some accountability some um no ego yeah you'll have to watch the reunion i mean there's three parts so hopefully you'll see a lot of it i heard there's three parts i want to talk about the journey that you've showed separately from summer house, which is a totally different twist.
20:18You just showed yourself working with a camp. That was so cool. I loved that segment, but you, you have been through cancer. You opened up about having testicular cancer. Why did you decide to share that with the audience? I had one of my nuts taken out and then a year later it spread to the lymph nodes, my stomach and I had four rounds of chemo and went bald and the whole thing. Wow. How old were you? I was 24 the first time. How do you process that mentally when you're that age? It's got to be so terrifying. What's going through your mind to get through that period of time? Yeah, I think I felt lucky to have caught it early and the prognosis was really good for somebody.
21:12in my situation. I went for a checkup. I went to the doctor in New York, you know, I heard my Jewish mother in the back of my head, like, go get your annual physical. And I went and the doctor said, I don't think this is anything, but you should probably go get another test. I had like a twinge of pain in my nut, but like sometimes nuts hurt randomly. So it was like, I didn't think anything of it. Um, and I was traveling around for work and I came back. I was like, Oh, I should get that test. I get the test and the hospital calls me right away. And they were like, come back. And I was like, I did like a STD panel.
21:56I did this test, whatever. And I was like, I must have chlamydia. Like my life is over. And I go back to the doctor's office. I was like, all right, doc like I've never had chlamydia like can't believe it he's like so you have cancer and we're gonna have to probably give you chemo and radiation and remove one of your testicles and once we remove the testicle we'll know like what's next for you and I was like where's Ashton am I getting punked right now like what is going on because I'd lived a very blessed life up until that point and I still am very blessed but nothing like that had ever happened to me I was just like you know shocked um and then you always have this like voice in the back of your head that's like what if you're one of the unlucky ones but I had great doctors a great support system my family and friends were there for me and you just kind of look at it as like this shitty period of your life that you're gonna hopefully get through and you're gonna be better for it on the other side.
23:03And that's kind of like how I feel now. And obviously a lot of people aren't as lucky as I was. Um, but I, I think that's like really the only mentality you can have going into something like that is to try and be positive and do everything you can to fight it the best you can. What does that do for your perspective on life after going through something like that? Yeah, it's been great. Um, I would say that like I live every day with such joy, just happy to be alive. And that's like what my, my tour is called the happy to be here tour. Um, and I did start to struggle a little bit with my mental health recently because I was kind of losing that gratitude.
23:50And I was like, what the fuck is wrong with me? Like you are so lucky you have so much you're doing so well you're getting to do what you love to do like why are you not as happy as you used to be after you had just beaten cancer um so just kind of like this weird guilt for not being as happy as I once was um but I'm really good right now. Um, and I'm loving being on tour and like doing music and I feel great. Like it feels like what I'm supposed to be doing, but definitely like there have been some mental battles with like the, the whole cancer stuff. Yeah. I think that's probably why they call gratitude a practice because you have to keep, I mean, and it sounds like you do, but it just feels like that makes sense that you would feel like that because if you don't practice it every day if you miss a couple days like that it makes sense that you would struggle with your mental health later on yeah yeah i i haven't heard that as much well i mean i think yeah human beings do a really good job of basically forgetting the progress they make and they feel like you know like say that say you try to climb i'm just gonna use an easy reference you climb the mountain you get to the top of the mountain that's what that's what you've been working your whole life for and then you're there.
25:15And then you take a couple of steps back and like my life sucks, but you don't realize that you're still a million steps ahead of where you originally once were, but that little regression feels like misery. No, totally. You get so normalized to every step forward that you take that you have to remember. That's why people, as it relates to success and even like financial wellbeing, they think that one day they're going to reach a certain amount of that and then it's going to make them happy. They don't realize like it just becomes the norm. You just keep going. Yeah. And then if, and then if you, you know, say you make a million dollars, if all of a sudden the next year you make a lot less, you feel like a loser, but it's like, don't forget you, you did that.
25:48I'm using an extreme example, but people get, you know, like they think that the number is going to solve their happiness. If you can't, if you can't be happy and grateful along the way and throughout the process, it's, it's never going to happen for you. Yeah. And I've always been really focused on making a lot of money and I'm starting to make money, but I do think that I'll look back on this period where I'm not super duper wealthy. I haven't had some exit in the business that was crazy that I'll look back on this period and be like, that was the most fun I ever had. The best advice I've ever heard about money is that money solves money problems.
26:27That's about it. It won't solve internal issues. It won't solve things with your family. It won't solve the way you're great. It'll only take care of financial burdens. And some people say, oh, if I get rid of the financial burdens, I'll be happy. But there's all the other baggage. And personally, in my life, there's been a diminishing return as you make more and more money. There's certain levels where if you can take care of your bills and not worry about what it's going to cost to go out to dinner and your groceries, maybe take a nice vacation. Like that has a real cascading effect. But after that, like just adding more on top of the pile, you do get a diminishing return.
27:06It can be depressing actually. It's, I think the journey is like the best part. But I do think that having a family will be a really fulfilling experience and having money to do that and just like allow your kids to do whatever they want to do. That'll feel good you're gonna be a great dad i can't wait yeah you're gonna be a really really good dad i can tell and it seems like something you're excited about yeah that's what's brought us the most joy of everything probably becoming parents how many three whoa i know so fun that's a lot of kids a lot of kids no but he doesn't leave me alone you know the best part about having kids and i think you'll you'll like this you strike me as someone who like you get to um you get to basically like live the best parts of life all over again like through their perspective i just want to say i didn't touch on the sunrise day camp yes please such an amazing organization i mean the way that the the kids are just like so happy and they just like feel like normal kids and they forget about all their problems it's a camp for kids who have cancer and their siblings because oftentimes siblings are like the forgotten about child in these situations and don't get the same attention um to go to a day camp in on long island completely for free cool um and even once they're you know have beaten their cancer are allowed to go for until they go to college whatever they do and a lot of the counselors were former campers it's just like a really great family so i'm just grateful to them for like opening up the camp to us and being able to, to show what they do.
28:47Um, it was like in a, in a summer filled with so much drama to be able to have that like wholesome moment where we could like give back and show that was really awesome. You seemed really happy in that episode. Yeah. I think, uh, things like that just put everything into perspective and just like what we were talking about like it makes you realize everything that you do have and how much harder it could be um so you know i've tried to volunteer whenever i can as much as i can like i've been able to go to a hospital on tour and sing with the kids and talk to the kids and i'm setting up more of those so um yeah i think like it's amazing that i'm in a place where me showing up and like giving my time is like means something to other people like how cool is that super cool like even though these kids might not watch summer house like i don't know for some reason like they think i'm cool no but see that's like the like i think that will bring you more joy and happiness than any other stuff that we've discussed is being able to like build a platform and then have other people be excited about that platform and inspired by it and then feel like they're part of something you know what I mean?
30:06Like a pile of money is nice, but like that, what you're doing will bring you way more joy than that. Quick break to deliver a message from our friends at Starbucks. I make my kids this thing called chocolate water, and it's such a hack because they think they're drinking a chocolate milkshake, and little do they know they're actually having bone broth, bone broth protein to be specific.
32:05There is this chocolate bone broth protein powder by Paleo Valley that I am so into. I have put so many of my friends onto it. It's delicious. Here's what you do. I use a little bit of milk for my kids and I pour a big scoop. I think it's like 20 grams of protein in there. I froth it up and then I add water and ice and they love it. They think it's such a treat. For my own self, I'll do water at the end of the night just to make sure I hit my protein goal and I'll froth it up. Water, again, a little ice, a straw. I'm good to go. I'm obsessed with this. You've got to try it. So many people love this bone broth protein.
32:43It tastes delicious. It doesn't have that like shocky taste that so many protein powders have. While you're on their site, if you're looking for extra protein, definitely grab their beef sticks and organ complex. You guys know I'm into the organs. I'm about the organs for the beauty benefits. C15 from fatty 15, the first emerging essential fatty acid to be discovered in more than 90 years. It's an incredible scientific breakthrough to support our long-term health and wellness. And you guessed it, healthy aging. Fatty 15 co-founder Dr. Stephanie Van Watson discovered the benefits of C15 while working with the U.S. Navy to continually improve the health and welfare of older dolphins. I didn't even know the Navy had dolphins, but they do. I highly suggest you check out that episode we did with Dr.
33:52Stephanie Van Watson. It's fascinating. But based on over 100 studies, we now know that C15 strengthens our cells and is a foundational healthy aging nutrient, which helps to slow aging at the cellular level. And in fact, when our cells don't have enough C15, they become fragile and age faster. And when our cells age, our bodies age too. This is why Lauren and I have been taking fatty 15 for the last few years now. Every single day, we take it multiple times a day, and it's because we want high C15 levels. As many as one in three people worldwide may have low C15 levels and fragile cells. You do not want this.
34:24You want to age gracefully and efficiently. And here's the other thing. Fatty 15 has three times more cellular benefits than EPA and omega-3s. So it packs a real punch. So check them out. Fatty 15 was developed to support healthy aging for all from kids to parents to grandparents. That's why award-winning Fatty 15 is now available as pure capsules, delicious apple mint gummies for teens and adults, and yummy berry blast gummies for kids. Fatty 15 is on a mission to support healthy aging for all, including all ages and stages of life. 34:58You opened up on the show, you did a five-year cancer-free check. Did you decide to open up about that so you could inspire people to also go get a check or were you just living your life and there was cameras there? it just so happened that it was my five-year checkup was over that summer um I've always been pretty open about having cancer so it wasn't something I was gonna like hide from my story on the show and uh I thought it was gonna be like a beautiful moment of like show up you know I'd been through four of them with no issue um so there was no reason I thought that year five i would have an issue and then i remember two weeks before the doctor's appointment i like felt something change on my left nut of my remaining testicle and i was like oh did i just like set myself up to get cancer again on national television and i started really freaking out um and then i went to the doctor's appointment and he was like yeah so we did the scan like this is what i see like what are you talking about and he was like oh you have two things going on and i was like oh my god like i'm totally fucked and then they were just like two normal things one was like a calcium buildup jesus christ one was like a blood vessel they're like you're fine putting you through the mental oh my god i think too west was there for you the entire time that you did that so that's like another dynamic that i think is important to the whole yeah he's been a great friend to me like i know his family i know that they're all great people so it's just like a hard thing to grapple with but let me ask you i don't want to get eaten alive here on this because i'm again like give me a like who does i'm a novice people but do these shows in a way the environments create these kind of situations and even maybe hope for these situations so for example like lauren and i would not be good on these because like we wouldn't we would just we would at this point we would not like do we would we have three kids under six like we just wouldn't bring the craziness that we would have maybe when we're in our 20s yeah but i imagine like you know the producers there the show the audience there they want things maybe not at this extreme but they want things like this to happen is there a pressure to kind of almost perform and to have no no okay i would say that that's a great thing that i didn't know what to expect when i joined a reality tv show i don't watch a lot of reality tv i was like is this all real and you show up and summer house especially like they don't say hey show up at three o 'clock at this restaurant like you're gonna film a scene with this person like we're just in this house for 48 hours so you really let your guard down you forget the cameras are there at night for sure you literally forget i mean like we go out get drunk come back and we're like eating snacks with our friends or like you forget yeah like you don't i mean sometimes you forget forget but like but you don't turn around and there's like the giant the camera with the guy standing at 10 o 'clock they stop like they have surveillance like farting on the camera he must forget yeah like i kind of let this huge fart rip on the camera you're either too drunk or you're just like they're just never gonna use this like you're just out with your friends like you're having a night out like you let your guard down anyways all i want to say is that the producers were just as upset as the public and as our friend group was when this all happened they you know we had a really beautiful thing you'll see like leaving the house the last weekend we'd never been closer and I think the thing about our show that people love is like we are genuine friends it's not just like housewives bickering the whole time it's based off of real friendships so nobody wants to see the friend group fractured like this so I would say like to this extreme no the network's not like ratings are up like the ratings were 50 higher than they ever had been before this whole thing happened so the show was like doing as great as it had ever done so that's why it was like i said to wes i was like dude if you're if this is happening please lock it the fuck up like why you don't need to do this i don't care what anyone says if somebody in in the quote unquote viz that network is tickled to death about what's going on out there the ratings are through the fucking roof let's say this the network is different than the producers kind of right it's like a different if i put the quote-unquote executive hat on those guys are sitting there on that table licking their chops they're like this is great tv people are tuned in they're on podcasts i don't know the health and wellness podcast is diving into the reality this is you know are we health and wellness well not today we're not let's get into that i was just gonna ask you about health and wellness because i see your aura ring hell yeah tell us about your what's jesse's health and wellness tips so i i work out every day okay lift i eat clean i lift probably four or five days a week okay i walk a lot and every morning i make like this big like hydration drink of like colostrum and electrolytes and, um, a whole bunch of stuff.
40:33And, uh, yeah, I try to be healthy. Obviously I'm like on the road right now on tour. So like, I'll get some chicken tenders if that's the only thing around. Um, and like I drink alcohol, uh, sparingly, but right now I'm not drinking and yeah, I do some weird shit on tour. I have like this nebulizer that like hydrates my vocal cords um i have to be on vocal rest i'm talking a lot right now because i'm here with you guys sorry what a treat all right but typically i'm let's get the whole audience to come and see you on tour let's get them out so what what can we expect and i didn't get an invite last night that's so fucked up of me i would have totally been like front row well this is our first time meeting so you guys are you guys are invited to everything I do for the rest of time.
41:23Love it. We're in. I can't wait to be on this 15-person trip that we're going to go on. The 15-person? Oh, you're ready to be on the trip. Yeah, the trip is really fun. You'd be a good trip, mate. He's a great trip, mate. I can tell right away. You'd be good on the prompts. I said on the call, I said, you're very likable. These trips are, you know, they're casted. You've got to cast a trip well. You've got to be real thoughtful about it. Like, you're going to go away with someone. No, I know. He's on the rock star show of Bravo. He knows how to cast a trip, I'm sure. But, you know, like, sometimes I see people do trips with their friends, and if it's not casted well, like, it could be.
42:02He's aware. After this tour, I've got so much going on that I'm going to Turks and Caicos. I've never been. I might just go by myself. You know, I will tell you, once you have kids, you are never going to be left alone, ever. Like, they will find you. So I think taking a trip by yourself is like, let it rip. The other day I had to go to Santa Barbara by myself for this. I was speaking of this thing and she called me. She's like, oh my God, like, are you so sad? Do you miss all? I'm like, yeah, it's terrible. I was eating oysters and caviar. I was sitting there. His dick's hanging out down his leg.
42:33I was laying there in my underpants with a fire gun. Sloppy. I was like, this is terrible. I don't know. Like it was, I was thinking, I was like, this is probably the first time in six years that I've just been like by myself chilling. Sounds nice. It was amazing. You know what though? So having kids, I'm sure, is like being on reality television. Oh. Similar. What? How so? Because there's a camera in your face, but it's a kid in your face. Do you know what I mean? But the thing is. Yeah, you have to be on. Yeah. Setting a good example. Yes. Yeah, but you're not having the world watch and judge you.

49:32Lauren Bostick for P-Volve. So where do we go from here? Are you going back next summer? I don't confirm things until like very last minute, but there's going to be a show this summer, I would imagine. And if there's a show, I think I'll be on it. We need you on it. Yeah, it's been such a great thing for my life. I've learned a lot about myself. I've made such great friends. It's allowed me to do music. I mean, the fact that I can hang out with my friends in the Hamptons over the summer and then get to go on tour and make music the rest of the year is like such a fun thing. Which song should we download first?
50:15Guess All Start's Having a Moment. Yeah. It's all over TikTok. Everybody's singing it. I mean, at my show last night, everybody sings the words. Yeah. Like, what a cool thing. It's so cool. And people come up to me in the meet and greet and they're like, you inspired me to leave my job and do what I'm passionate about. And I get so many messages like that. Like people connecting with the lyrics. You have a great voice, man. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of... You got it like his voice, your voice is good. I wish I could sing. I can't sing a fucking note. I could sing. I could be a backup. Yeah.
50:47Well, I wish I had you. So I, I call people up on stage for my, my latest song, Overrated. You should also check that out. It's about falling in love with your best friend. Sounds like it could have been about you guys. And the singer dropped out last minute. And so I posted on my Instagram. I was like, can anybody come sing? And this amazing girl showed up and she crushed it. She was so nervous. I felt bad. But she did a good job. But she did a good job. Yeah. Who's the best friend that you found? Could have been me. Oh, I do a really mean Disney like rendition. I don't say who I write my songs about.
51:21Okay, but it is about someone. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't just make it up I write songs about like my real life experiences I think that you're fabulous I think it's so smart that you're diversifying with your tour and everything that you've got going on and you have to stay on Summer House as a fan you have to go back on now because I have this weird thing where I like I am in and out of these shows but once I meet someone now I'm like in so now I'm gonna be like when's it on and I'm gonna tune in to every fucking episode right yeah well there's a good season going on right now you can start because i now i feel personally like i feel personally vested almost like when you have like your favorite sports team now i'm gonna be like you know i'm in how can everyone go uh check out where you're touring where can they find you where can they say hi if they're single maybe they can drop in a dm my instagram what do those dms look like jesse sauls okay um my tour is jesse solomon music.com you can buy tickets and And yeah, I'm performing in Dallas tonight.
52:25I mean, the shows are like, a lot of them are sold out. Nice. We just, when is this coming out? We just sold out Bowery Ballroom. It's like 550 people and the show's not for like two and a half months. It's, life is good. I'm so appreciative of you guys having me. Who's in your DMs? Is there celebrities? Yeah. I wouldn't say that like celebrities are just sliding into my DMs. A lot of hotties. there's just a lot of people
52:57men women everybody's in there all different kinds yeah flattering it's do you slide into dms or will you i mean yeah if there's somebody that i'm interested in i'll what's the story you reply to story yeah uh but i try to get like an intro and i'm off the dating apps at this point Yeah, I think that's good. It's just too much. Yeah. Too much optionality. Like I need to focus on one person. That's the key. He always talks about this on the show. He's like, when you have too many options, it's overwhelming. Well, no, listen, I mean, I only hear, well, actually I hear about it now for some minute, but most of my guy friends, they're like, they get to the point of what you're saying.
53:37They get burnt out. It's like they can't focus and it becomes overwhelming and it becomes kind of messy and stressful. Yeah. just like it's like a full-time job i don't think anyone's good with that much i think like it's nice to feel like you have a few options but i think that much optionality becomes really confusing yeah like i i could go to a bar and there's like you know 50 girls yeah there or you can go on your phone and it's like unlimited so it's i got to cut off the dating apps and And yeah, try to like talk to one person at a time. It's like a good place to start. Lala Kent said she drops in the DMs like with this emoji.
54:19I thought that was clever. Well, she's a gorgeous woman. Put it out there. She's single.
54:27I'm just saying like being a guy sliding into girls DMs. If you go in with an emoji. You can't do that. Yeah, I can't do that. Fisting emoji. What the fuck is that? It's like people are going to have to watch YouTube. It's like a, I don't. If a guy is sending this emoji. Yeah. That's just like, it's like really. But I would do that if I was single. That's I feel like I would go like this, like like chef's kiss. Oh, that's what it is. Chef's kiss. Yeah. OK. Do you guys have any advice for me? Just like aside from dating and life and maybe like wellness, whatever. Well, I actually do have advice for you.
55:00And I was going to give this to you off air, but I felt really called to tell you this. OK. And I'll say it on air. I was going to tell you off. This is really weird. We had, this is so random. We had a doctor on the show that talked about testicular. Is that how you say it? Yes, testicular. You learned so much today. Testicular. A lot of testicle. Yeah. Testicular and prostate cancer. And he was someone who studied it for years and years. Super smart guy. Yeah. I'll send you his Instagram. Still does study it. And he said that the number one thing that the prostate and test, test, testicular cancer cells don't like is so I can't speak sulforaphane.
55:47How do you say it? I don't know what you're trying to say. Broccoli sprouts. Well, they said that could be well. They said that. But they also said like, and this is really hard to do, but and it's there's a million things. I mean, as you know, there's a million things that play into this. But stress is a huge. No, wait, wait, wait. The broccoli sprouts, though. The broccoli sprouts. I was like, you guys can give me any advice in the entire world. I'll give you this. What is it? Broccoli sprouts. You should be eating broccoli sprouts every day, he said, especially if you're a man. I've got my dad on them.
56:14I mean, I don't know, man. You seem like you have it together, right? You got a killer tour going on. You're on a show. You're doing well. You're healthy. No, I'm just telling you, you need to eat broccoli sprouts. I had a call with a nutritionist this week and they put together a meal plan for me. But yeah, a lot of whole foods. Not enough sprouts though. Broccoli sprouts. I'll get into sprouts. I'm going to show you. He also has, there's a supplement and it has the broccoli sprout supplement. I gave it to my dad. Michael's on it. It's really good for men. I don't know why last night I was thinking about interviewing you.
56:43I'm like, I feel called to tell you to eat broccoli sprouts. I think like when I think about people in your line of work that do shows publicly, my only piece of advice is to like you i think it's really important to keep an intact reputation that can carry you into whatever your next version of your career is and i've seen a lot of people like they can in the world of reality you can burn that down in the wrong way if you're not careful so i don't know i don't know what the advice is but he doesn't need advice there like very thoughtful. You know what I mean? Don't get canceled. It's more of like, I think people underestimate being well-liked and having a strong reputation and having integrity.
57:29And like, I think it's hard to come back from that stuff. The other stuff, you can always recover. Everybody makes mistakes and you can say something wrong.
