0:00Michael Bosstick:The following podcast is a Dear Media production. She's a lifestyle blogger extraordinaire. Fantastic. And he's a serial entrepreneur. A very smart cookie. And now Lauren Evarts and Michael Bosstick are bringing you along for the ride.

0:16Nicole Polizzi:Get ready for some major realness.

0:18Michael Bosstick:Welcome to the Skinny Confidential. Him and her.

0:24Nicole Polizzi:Off air, you were telling us that your husband is like, it's like having two mothers to your kids. And I relate to that with Michael. Tell us about that.

0:33Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, so he's very hands-on, especially when they were babies. Like he would do the shower, he would change the diapers. And a lot of the men, they don't do that. Like I know some dads that have never changed their kids' diaper before. But Gianni's so hands-on, dresses them, does whatever. If I'm sick, he'll take care of everything. Yeah, he's a great dad. And you guys have been married for 10 years. It'll be 10 years, November 29th.

0:57Michael Bosstick:That's a big milestone. It's a big milestone.

0:59Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh no, 11. I'm lying. 11. Oh, you already made the 10. We already had 10. Ring upgrade immediately. Wait, so I go off my daughter's age because I had Giovanna three months before our wedding. So she's turning 11 next week. So it's 11 years we've been married. The anniversary is a little hard.

1:16Michael Bosstick:So you skipped the 10-year anniversary. That's a big one.

1:19Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, we just like went out and had martinis. We didn't do anything crazy. But we promised ourselves that we were going to go to AC for the night in Lenox City. Okay. And like just go and gamble and like have a night. And we never did it because kids. When you go out, does everyone come up to you when you're in Jersey? Not really. I mean, my town, I just feel like, so I moved to where my husband lives. So everyone knows Gianni. And it's basically all of his friends and family. So when I go like to Trader Joe's, CVS, I just feel normal because everyone knows I live there. I've lived there for 10 years now.

1:51Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:What's the secret to staying married for almost 11 years? I don't know. Well, how do you guys keep it sexy? Well, even though we don't go on dates as much as I would like us to and like trips, we do have like our movie nights. So like we get the kids to bed and we have a spare room. We go in the spare room and we'll have wine or he'll make martinis and like snack boards, like charcuterie boards. And we'll just watch movies all night. That's nice. You hear that? Yeah, so you don't actually have to go out, which I would honestly like to go out once in a while just to dress up and because he needs to recognize like I'm still pretty yeah like at

2:24Nicole Polizzi:home I look homeless yeah but you know I like no makeup baggy clothes it's okay to do that trick it's it's a party trick like what I like to do is get as ugly as possible in the house yeah and then like I'll get really dressed up to the point where it's like he doesn't even recognize me and then you just remind him yeah he's like damn she's hot I forgot I do that to you all the time I love to like i love to like take it to the edge of ugliness and then like totally give you whiplash well

2:55Michael Bosstick:sometimes i even like we'll take walks in the neighborhood sometimes and i'll be like hey we need to maybe like get a little bit dressed you know what i mean like the neighbors are are looking

3:04Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:yeah like wearing a muumuu with like socks with it oh same yeah yeah socks and a slip uh slippers

3:10Michael Bosstick:or sandals yeah yeah yeah but it's like it's like almost like borderline like like you're not dress for public occasions, if that makes sense. No.

3:20Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:You should see me at school pickup. What do you look like at school pickup? Socks, sandals or slippers, oversized sweatshirt, leggings, hair up in a bun.

3:30Michael Bosstick:That's like normal though, yeah?

3:31Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:No, I look sad. That's okay though. And then some moms come like this. Like sweetie. I'm like, oh my God.

3:40Nicole Polizzi:Like how do you do that? I have a girlfriend that told me that she has a shirt. She has a shirt in like five different colors it's a really nice shirt and she says she'll look absolutely horrible and then she'll go and grab one of the shirts in different colors for different days of the week put it on put sunglasses on carry a beautiful bag and walk in like she's all put together and goes home and then just rips it all off oh so maybe that's what this girl does

4:03Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:yeah she's always just the nine like heels like i admire her for doing that it's i don't have the energy nor do i care i don't care oh it's a lot of work i wish i cared more but i don't yeah so

4:15Nicole Polizzi:I'm tired. You want me to care? He's always, Michael is actually the mom at school. You're not a mom, but you are always put together. He's dialed in all the time.

4:25Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Men are easier though.

4:26Michael Bosstick:Yeah, it's easy. I don't have to do a bunch of stuff. It's easy for you guys

4:28Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:to be put together.

4:29Michael Bosstick:Yeah, you just throw it.

4:30Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Us, we have to get our hair done. We have a lot of hair. Yeah. Put some sort of makeup on. Nice outfit. It's a lot.

4:37Nicole Polizzi:Before you became famous, did you know that you were going to be famous when you were little?

4:43Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I wanted to. Always. I always said I wanted to be a reality star because I was so obsessed with like the challenge and road rules and all like the MTV shows. So I was like, I really want to be on MTV one day and like be a reality star. So how does the tryouts come for Jersey Shore? Well, I did a show previously called Is She Really Going Out With Him? Yeah. And it was just like, see if I liked reality. It was like one episode, one day of filming, like nothing crazy. I was like, oh, I loved it. That's so cool but then I was like sending my tapes in for real world like doing like the whole like audition tape and sending it in I sent I think three in they never call me back so it's like okay that's not the show for me even though I really wanted to be on real world so then I was on myspace or facebook one of those and I saw an audition for guidos and guidettes and I'm like oh because that was literally like my lifestyle like I love tanning I had the poof I loved house music It was just like all the things.

5:40Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:So I was like, oh my God, this is like literally the show I'm supposed to be on. So I went to the audition and then that was that. When you went. It was like it was meant to be. It was weird. Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. No, that was happening for you. This was my calling.

5:52Michael Bosstick:But when you walk in, I mean, just because you were so good. Did they just meet you one time and like, we found her. Keep having to go back.

5:59Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:No, they said I was on like the top 10 list. And there was like a ton of people that tried out. But you had to go through like a ton of interviews. Okay. So the first interview I went to, it was like in a dungeon at a dive bar, like in the basement. So I'm like, is this like a porno? Like, what is this? I felt really weird about it. So it was literally in the basement in a dungeon. But I walked in. I had like fishnets on, leopard dress, fur coat, like trying to be really Jersey. And I did like four shots in the car because my friend drove me. And I was like, let's do this. So I did my first interview drunk.

6:33Nicole Polizzi:So did you know you had a strat like a strategy to get on you because you say you dress up like it's like extra extra extra You're having your shots.

6:42Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, I wanted to stand out I wanted to stand out and be like the most so I did like the most with my outfit the most with like my makeup my hair I did four shots

6:52Michael Bosstick:So like I'd be more loud and fun like four shots in a short like just like in the car in a short period

6:56Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, I put Southern comfort in a water bottle and I just went You know back in the day we drink We just put alcohol in the water bottle.

7:03Michael Bosstick:Southern Comfort is a heavy drink. I don't know how I drank that.

7:06Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I drank that all season one. It was Southern Comfort and Long Island. That was my drink. I drank that too. You drank it. I think you used to drink it with like - I can't even smell it now.

7:14Nicole Polizzi:I can't even do brown liquor. I'll die. Southern Comfort is so gnarly. Trash. And then I'd be like, what's the one with the higher percentage? Give me that one.

7:22Michael Bosstick:No, there was that moment where it was like, it was like Captain Morgan rum, Southern Comfort. It was so gross.

7:27Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:We used to drink the brown liquor.

7:29Michael Bosstick:Yeah.

Read the full transcript

7:29Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, that is really like, why did we do that? I can't do that anymore. The last time I took a shot of brown liquor, I was throwing up all the next day.

7:35Nicole Polizzi:It's like also, I used to drink like hypnotic and like Schmiernoff apple.

7:39Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Did you ever have a Goldschlager with the gold flakes in it?

7:43Michael Bosstick:Oh my God. Or Loco.

7:44Nicole Polizzi:No, what's the one that has like a ton? Everclear. Woo! Oh yeah, that was horrible.

7:49Michael Bosstick:I had a buddy. His big thing was peppermint schnapps. Oh yeah, I had a friend. And you would drink with him all the time and then like he would go, and then he'd be like, oh, well let's switch to this drink. And he somehow like had built an immunity to it or something.

8:01Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh my God.

8:02Michael Bosstick:I was throwing up for days with that stuff. That's like similar to Goldschlager. Like that stuff.

8:05Nicole Polizzi:Yeah.

8:05Michael Bosstick:Ugh.

8:06Nicole Polizzi:So when do you find out that you get the show? Where are you? What's the vibe? Like, were you freaking out?

8:11Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:So I think they called me and they were like, we have to come to your house to film. And then just pack like you're going to go film for a month and we're going to come pick you up, but we're going to be filming it. So I'm like, oh, like, am I on the show? And they were like, we don't know yet. So I guess they did what they did to me to like 20 other people. and they were only picking eight. So they basically came to my house and I did the whole like, bye mom, I'm going down the shore, packing, drove down the shore and then they put us in hotel rooms with no cell phone. We were just stuck in the room by ourselves, locked doors, like we couldn't leave for I think two days.

8:48Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:What'd you do? I mean, I brought wine so I was drinking wine in my room. Could you read a book? Oh yeah, you could watch TV. You could watch TV. But you were like stuck in the room and you didn't know if you were going to go until, you know, the producers came and then were like, all right, pack your bags or you're headed to the house. That sounds like a vacation now,

9:05Nicole Polizzi:being locked in a room with a little bit of wine and some TV. I would love that. I know. I would die. I would die. Sounds fun. In a robe and bed. Barefoot dreams wrapped around. Yeah. And then you order room service. So when they come into the room after two days, do they tell you like you're picked and you're going straight to the Jersey Shore house? Oh, they were just like, get ready.

9:25Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Like you're up next to head to the house. And what's your impression of everyone when you get there?

9:29Michael Bosstick:Did you know anyone ahead of time?

9:31Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:No. So I knew Dina. Me and Dina were like MySpace friends. And we had like similar friends in Jersey. So I knew of Dina. And she was actually supposed to be on season one. But then her grandmother died and she backed out. So I don't know who replaced Dina. But Dina was supposed to be there. And there was another kid that was supposed to be on it. But he didn't make the cut. He lived near me. So when I walked in, I thought I was seeing my friend. and Dina and I didn't see them. And I'm like, what is this? Because I already felt cozy knowing they were going to be there. Yeah. So then I see everyone and they're total strangers.

10:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:And I walk in and I was just ready to party because I, every summer I would go there and I would like stay at friends' houses and all we would do is drink like all day and all night. Like that's what you do in Jersey Shore like in the summertime. So I walk in and nobody wants to take shots. No one wants to drink. I see Vinny. I was like, that's not a guido. Like what is that?

10:24Michael Bosstick:Like how do you define a guido?

10:25Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:The Guido, the Guido back in the day, it was more of a lifestyle. So everyone's saying, oh, you know, you're making fun of Italians. It was just a lifestyle, like like your emo, your punk. Got it. Your Guido, Guida. So it's like just how you present yourself. So like tan, obviously. OK. Tan, spiky hair, muscles. And Vinny was just none of that. So I'm like, what was he doing here? He doesn't fit in. And then nobody wanted to take shots. So I'm just like, what is this?

10:56Nicole Polizzi:So then what sort of breaks the ice? If no one wants to take shots and have fun, what's the icebreaker? I just did it myself. Okay.

11:03Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:And then what is everyone else doing sitting there? I mean, you saw the first episode, right? I got wasted and everyone was just watching me. I embarrassed myself. Yeah, but then everyone like fell in love with you.

11:15Nicole Polizzi:Like I feel like people fell in love with you. Well, yeah, after I got punched in the face. Yeah, people all fell in love with you. After I almost died. There was something like really endearing to me watching the show about you right away.

11:24Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, I think I just I wanted to have a good time. I was young. I just turned 21. Yeah. And I just my boyfriend just broke up with me at the time. So I was like miserable and I just want to go out and have a good time. But my goal was to like go down the shore and I wanted to like get married young. I wanted to have kids young. So my plan was to find my husband that summer and it didn't happen. And it happened like two summers after. or a summer after.

11:48Nicole Polizzi:So what, I mean, anyone who's watched knows what happened, but what did happen? You didn't find your husband. What did you do? You guys just partied? Yeah, we just partied.

11:56Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Everyone was hooking up with each other. It was incest. When we look back at it, because I see my roomies as like my brothers and sisters now. So when we watch old clips of us like kissing or like doing, ugh, it's disgusting. Who did you think at the time was the hottest in the house? I thought Ron was the cutest for sure. I was like, Ron, you're cute.

12:17Nicole Polizzi:Ron was the cutest.

12:18Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Ron was the cutest. Mike thought he was the cutest. Yeah, and Pauly was like the definition of a guido. Okay. Ron was like the gorilla juice heads, which we called them. And then Mike was like in between a guido and juice head, but like a skinny juice head. And then Vinny, I don't know where he fell.

12:36Nicole Polizzi:And what's a guidat? Is that how you say it? Yeah, a guidat.

12:41Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Like, describe it to someone who doesn't know what that is. Yeah, it's just like the female version of a guido. You like to tan, you like house music, big hair, a lot of makeup, long nails. Does it still exist now or was it just a moment in time? Well, I still like big hair. Okay. I still love my big hair and I do miss the poof. I'm thinking about bringing it back, but I don't know.

13:02Michael Bosstick:This is A plus journalism getting into the guidettes.

13:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I still love animal print and leopard print. Like that's still my jam. I still love house music. That's all I listen to. Okay. So I still love all the things. I just I feel like I I feel like my style is more like mommy now. Yeah, but like when I do go out I like to wear leopard and stuff

13:21Nicole Polizzi:So what is it like having cameras in your face?

13:25Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:All the time at that point I feel like since I wanted it so bad and I knew That I wanted to be a reality star like I just expected it and I got used to it right away Yeah, but it was a lot for the first week. It was weird because back in the day like They don't break the fourth wall which means like you can't look at the camera you can't talk to the producers it's just like you in a bubble and you can't speak to anyone else outside of that bubble and now we're all best friends and like we talk every single day how we shoot is way different now but back in the day i would like ask a producer a question she would just be like this to me

13:59Michael Bosstick:like not talk to me because they could not interact with you no they couldn't interact

14:03Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:with the cast so i'm like what the hell is this and now you're friends would they just be standing like yeah and i'm like hello like can i go to the bathroom like i need help and she would just stare at me and i'm like and they're like you can't talk to the producers i'm like okay let's kind of like fend for yourself in front of the camera type deal did you when you look back did you guys blow up overnight or was it like a slow build i think the promos for the show really started to like build the anticipation of the show because they were like what it was crazy yeah they were like who the hell are these people?

14:38Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Why are they orange? Why are they dressed like that? Why do they talk like that? It was just like we were a different breed of species that nobody knew about unless you were from the East Coast. So the whole world was like, who are these creatures? And then I think once I got punched in the face, that's when like everyone started tuning into the show.

14:55Nicole Polizzi:I mean, the show, because we were from California at the time, we're in San Diego. You're right. I had never been to the Jersey Shore. So you are right. It was like almost like a different culture. Yeah.

15:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:They were like, what is this?

15:07Michael Bosstick:Remind me why you got punched in the face. It's been a while.

15:10Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Well, this guy at the bar, he was wasted. And we kept ordering shots. And he kept stealing the shots. So the first time, I'm like, oh, whatever. Second time, I'm like, all right, those were our shots. Third time, I ordered another round of shots. He took them again. I'm like, bro, these aren't your shots. Like, stop. And then he was starting to get nasty with me. And I called him ugly. And then he punched me.

15:31Michael Bosstick:Oh, man. I forgot it was a guy that did that.

15:32Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:How did he not get in trouble? Well, he got arrested. I don't know what happened with that, but he lost his job. He was a gym teacher. So he couldn't get a job after that. And then his dad did an article recently, not recently, probably like five years ago, saying that I'm the reason why his son had to enroll in the army because he couldn't get a job. So he had to join the army.

15:52Nicole Polizzi:Well, that's a lesson that you shouldn't punch people, even if you're on or off TV. I was like, that's not my fault. It's your son's fault. But remember when that guy stuck his finger down my pants at the bar? Ew. Yeah. I was like bending over the bar, seersucker. And this guy came up behind me. And Michael, who was my boyfriend at the time, saw him like he like stuck his finger in my pants.

16:18Michael Bosstick:There's creeps out there. I just walked in. I got a no hello, no anything.

16:22Nicole Polizzi:That's sick. Yeah. It's like you don't act like that and you won't get caught. What did you do?

16:27Michael Bosstick:I went nuts and then he ran.

16:30Nicole Polizzi:Oh, my God. That's sick.

16:32Michael Bosstick:and then we never heard from him again.

16:36Nicole Polizzi:What a creep. Okay, so when you guys start to gain momentum and blow up overnight, what is that like? Because you can't like call your friends from high school. They're not going to understand. What was that like for you?

16:47Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Well, yeah, it was crazy. So after a couple episodes aired, they were like, all right, we have to do press now, MTV. So we're like, okay, cool. They were like, we're going to fly you to LA because we were supposed to do it like locally, I think in the city. And then everything changed to LA And we were like, oh my God, like I've never been to California before. I hardly flew. Like I went to Florida a couple of times on vacation as a kid. But like I wasn't like used to flying or doing anything. So we we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. So flying to California. And then we did all the shows like we did E!

17:20Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:News, TMZ. And then we were supposed to be there for only like two nights. We ended up staying for a week because then Jimmy, Jimmy Kimmel wanted us or Jimmy Fallon, one of those. What's his name? Oh my God. He retired. David Letterman? Well, yeah, he's in the city, right? Jay Leno. Jay Leno. Jay Leno. Like we were doing all these crazy shows and they were like, hey guys. We were just like, what are we doing? So we ended up staying there for a week and obviously we went out to party because we were there and we wanted to go out and party. So we were like partying with Leonardo DiCaprio, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton.

17:54Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:It was crazy. And were they coming up to you and being like, we love your show? Yeah, they were like, GTL, bro.

19:36Nicole Polizzi:I have this hack that I do with my kids and it's called cookie granola. And I tell them that we are going to have cookie granola. It is such a treat. They get so excited. And the cookie granola that I tell them about is by Purely Elizabeth. They have this one that is chocolate sea salt. It is so good. My kids love it. They also have an actual cookie granola too. And what I like about the specific granola is it's organic oats, it's nutritious, ancient grains, and it's superfood seeds. So while my kids think they're having cookies, they're actually having these delicious, crunchy clusters that are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, and they're baked with coconut oil and coconut sugar and unrefined sugar.

20:23Nicole Polizzi:It's a great hack. My kids are obsessed. They like steal the bag out of my hand. Everything by Purely Elizabeth is certified USDA organic, and it's full of ancient grains and superfood seeds. Everything contains no artificial flavors. One thing I take very, very seriously for my children is their diapers because you're using so many diapers every single day.

21:08Nicole Polizzi:And I also take the wipes seriously. I want wipes that are clean. And I was introduced to Coterie and fell absolutely in love. All my children have used their diapers and their wipes. They still use their wipes. We have these wipes in my bags. We have them in my car. We have them in the drawers. We have them everywhere in the kitchen, all the things. They love them. And what I like about this brand is they really have thought of everything. Baby's skin is so delicate, especially their microbiome and their skin barrier. And so it's really important on having a minimalistic diaper wipe. Coterie developed everything with this gentle sort of like less is more philosophy when they were creating their product.

21:49Nicole Polizzi:You should also know that Coterie has launched First Wash. It's a tear-free hair and body wash, and it leaves everything super silky. They also have like a soft cream, which moisturizes both the face and body, and a bun balm. It's gorgeous, really buttery balm that I love not only for diaper changing, but you could also use it for dry patches. I like that the brand takes out a lot of the guesswork. Okay, so it's hyperallergenic. It's dermatologist tested. It's made without fragrance, which is so important. And there's no parabens. It's cruelty-free. It's vegan. It's microbiome-friendly. And most importantly, it's pH balanced.

22:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:bracelet on at the time was it again

22:45Michael Bosstick:Jim Tan Laundry right yeah she had her ankle bracelet on yeah it was like how are you at the club

22:49Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:you have your ankle bracelet on

22:51Michael Bosstick:Jim Tan Laundry

22:52Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:it was a very it was a very iconic moment in time

22:54Michael Bosstick:no but is that that's what I'm saying like everybody knew about it at that time and it was in that weird like that doesn't happen with shows anymore

23:01Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:no I know it's just like I know

23:03Michael Bosstick:and I imagine it's strange because you guys film all that and then you don't do anything for a while and then it starts to air and you like almost have to like you forgot

23:10Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:like you did all those we all we all went back to our normal lives like a lot of people had careers ron was in real estate jenny was like running this nightclub and clubs in um long island she was going to school to be a graphic designer i was going to school to be a vet tech like we all went back to our lives because we were like that was fun you know we did it but back to our lives and then once it aired everything changed like i couldn't finish my school everyone got fired from their jobs because we were just traveling so much like we were worried about our income because we we didn't have like a plan you know what i mean it was very spontaneous because like they didn't pay a lot in those early the first seasons right the first season they didn't pay us we only got paid from danny from our the t-shirt shop he gave us 200 a week wait wait wait wait wait they didn't

23:56Nicole Polizzi:pay you for the show the first season no so at what point do you guys all band together and know you have leverage that you guys have a huge show that you should be getting paid for oh after

24:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:they said season two we're going to Miami we knew we had to get paid so did you guys all meet together and say like yeah we band together we all ended up getting like managers agents and did the whole thing some casts don't do that oh I know they right I fend for themselves but we all band

24:23Nicole Polizzi:together I personally think that's smarter right because then you all like you all know you're

24:29Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:You either lose one and you replace one or you lose the entire cast. And supposedly they said that Jersey Shore was supposed to be a cycling cast. So every season it's different people. That wouldn't have worked. That's why they didn't do it.

24:44Nicole Polizzi:Yeah. So so when you guys all get managers and agents and you do the second season is your life. Your life's completely different. No one's working at their own job. What is that like in the house? What's the energy? Is it different?

24:56Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, I feel like we we knew what we were doing now. like it wasn't just fun and like oh we're doing this show real quick like what a fun experience we knew this was gonna be our jobs now and is there like

25:06Nicole Polizzi:sort of like a villain in the house at this point or is everyone getting along

25:10Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:season two yeah I feel like people were headbutting with Mike a little bit and Angelina

25:17Nicole Polizzi:and are you guys is it actually real or is it put on for television

25:22Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:no everything was real unfortunately it's all real yeah I wish I could say it wasn't it's all real because there's a lot of embarrassing things that I wish

25:29Michael Bosstick:How did you manage those, quote unquote, embarrassing things in your personal life? When people said everything gets filmed, it comes out, your family, friends, people who know you. Like what? Yeah. What are the conversations that take place then after when they see all the footage?

25:41Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Well, my friends knew exactly what I was going to do on the show because they babysat me all the time. So they were like, oh, I'm surprised you did that on TV. I'm like, I know. But like my mom and my dad, they were like, is this how you act? I'm like, I'm so sorry. But I was 21. Like, you can't tell me. What are you talking about?

25:58Nicole Polizzi:Give us some embarrassing things that you feel like when you reflect back, you think are embarrassing.

26:02Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Just like the hooking up aspect of it because my parents saw that. And then now, like, if my kids decide to one day watch it, they're going to see their mom, like, not kissing their dad. You know what I mean? Just like embarrassing things now.

26:18Nicole Polizzi:I feel like it's such a moment. It's so nostalgic. It's iconic. I think they're going to get it.

26:23Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah.

26:24Nicole Polizzi:Well, my kids think I'm an actress right now.

26:26Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:so that's what they think you do for a living yes you should explain it that way if they see it be like this is just acting no yeah yeah until they're like 18 then maybe i'll like tell them

26:36Nicole Polizzi:the truth and so as you guys keep doing seasons are you are you all like going to the producers and saying we know our worth like pay us more like you're lucky to have us basically like do

26:49Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:you know your worth at this point yeah yeah we weren't cocky about it though we were just like please like it would be nice and we always got what we wanted and the network was happy we were

26:59Nicole Polizzi:happy at what point do you start going out in wherever you guys are as a group and all these

27:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:people come up to you like when does it get like so crazy yeah guys yeah it was right after season one aired we couldn't go so after season one the show blew up we went to la we did all the things like everyone knows about us now so when we were filming season two in miami and we were just like walk down main street and like go go to dinners or you know go to the club the first season when we did that no one knew who we were so we were just like walking and it was whatever now we had paparazzi like 50 paparazzis following us people screaming fans so from season one to season two was day and night did you like that yeah we thought we were so cool we're like hey and like posing for paparazzi and producers were yelling at us like you're supposed to be just normal people

27:49Nicole Polizzi:like not celebrities so we loved it I mean this sounds fun yeah we were so cool at what point do you realize that you wanted to use not use the platform but leverage the platform to start your own business and do your own thing like when did you start to have the business mind I don't know

28:07Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I feel like the whole season one to season six it was just like party mode yeah like this is great Let's take what we can get because it's going to be over soon. So I feel like I feel like after I had Lorenzo, which was that's when they ended the series, which was season six. Was it because you had a baby? Yeah. And I think they wanted to take a break. Like they didn't want to oversaturate the show too much. So they did the break. And then once I had Lorenzo, me and Jenny did our spin off Snooki and JWoww, which did very well also. I like that show. And that was just me from party girl to mom and like doing the whole transition.

28:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:So I didn't really become business savvy and like build a career until after I had Lorenzo because I was like, all right, I need to make money for this baby and I need to be responsible. And it's not about partying anymore. So what was your first thing that you launched to your fans? I feel like I had the slippers. The slippers was like the first thing that I really did. My snoky slippers that I always like shuffled around in the house with. That's content marketing. The big slippers. I love them. But then I had I opened my online store, the Snooki shop. Yeah. So that opened, I think, right before Lorenzo was born.

29:18Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:So, yeah, I was just doing like little things that I always wanted to do.

29:22Nicole Polizzi:Did your husband want you to continue to do the show or did he want you to get off reality television when you guys got married?

29:28Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:No, he still wanted me to like do my career and do all the things, but he didn't want to be involved as much. He didn't want to be on

29:35Nicole Polizzi:love it yeah so then what makes you decide to come back to reality television years later like the reboot yeah jersey shore family vacation yeah i don't know i feel like when it came back

29:45Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:everything was coming back so like friends was coming back they were casting um new cast for like back in the day shows so everything it was just like a very nostalgic time for things to come back and we were just like we did a group chat we were like if we were to come back would you all be down? And everyone was like, yeah. So then we pitched it to MTV and then they bought us again. And every single person came back? Yeah, except Sam. Why didn't she come back? She didn't want to. She wanted a break. And I feel like her and Ron were not good. So she didn't want to be around him. And I don't know.

30:22Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I just feel like she didn't want to be she didn't want to be involved.

30:24Nicole Polizzi:When you guys get the cast back together, did you guys have that same essence and magic that you had years before?

30:31Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. And everybody was like scared because obviously we were older. I had two kids at the time. So they were like, oh, how is she going to be? And I was even ragier because I was a mom with toddlers. I get it. So I walked in the house.

30:43Michael Bosstick:You came to party hard.

30:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I came to party. I think I peed in the pool. It was a nightmare. And then I'm like, oh my God, I shouldn't be acting like this as a mom. I was a little more tamer, but I was still like a meatball.

30:53Michael Bosstick:no but i imagine like that's like it's like a it's like a it's like a switch in the brain where

30:58Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:it's like it's party time again well yeah you get in that environment with all those people yeah so it's like back in the day like we're 21 again and living in the house like let's rage and we all did but then i'm just like wait i have two kids at home i'm married it's like i kind of like need to class it up a little bit but still have fun do you watch yourself back on television when

31:17Nicole Polizzi:you're on it like back in the day stuff or stuff now do you watch would like if you're on a reality show do you go home and watch the show no never not really i feel like once it's done it's done because then like my voice will annoy me my hair bothers me or like i i'm like oh i should have

31:36Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:put makeup on but i didn't just like things bother me that's how i would be i would be detached from it yeah but mike mike is totally mike loves watching himself he's just like oh love me. I'm just like, ugh, I can't watch it. My voice bothers me now.

31:52Nicole Polizzi:Mike was a breakout star too, like you, I feel like, of the cast. He stood out. And he's been sober now. So what is it like for him going sober back into that?

32:02Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, so I feel like that was a test for him because I don't remember how many years sober he was when we started the show in Miami back years ago. But now I think he's coming up on 10 years sober. good for him yeah he's doing great sobriety wise business wise like he he's killing it and he has kids he's got three kids the wife is everyone married now on the cast no so paulie and nicky aren't married vinnie's still single okay ronnie is dating and angelina isn't married

32:33Nicole Polizzi:vinnie's still single did you hear that girls vinnie's single is he looking with that why good luck with that he's a lot why it's just like single i have a friend he's like our little

32:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:brother even though he's like a couple weeks older than me but he's just he's vinny i can't explain it what's the trick to like getting him to commit i don't know i think he's concentrating on his career right now so he's doing like stand-up and doing all the things he lives in the city he has a great place like he's bachelor life is like really good on him right now but obviously eventually he definitely wants to you know find a wife and have kids but i don't think it's gonna happen yet i have a friend like that i'm totally there's taylor i had one of my friends the other

33:16Michael Bosstick:day he's like almost 40 he's already looked at me he's like you know that was taylor it was yeah i think it might be time for me to settle down i'm like yeah man no shit yeah that's finny he'll

33:25Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:be 38 this year he turns 38 right before me so what's weird because when you when you we have

33:30Michael Bosstick:three kids too and so like this this gap starts to happen with like the friends that have kids and the friends that don't because we're like living in two different worlds.

33:37Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, like our kids are going to be in college when Vin decides to have a child.

33:41Michael Bosstick:Like I was explaining to my -

33:42Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Like how are they going to be friends?

33:43Michael Bosstick:Yeah, like my buddy that doesn't have kids. I was like, you know how you just like wake up in the morning and like walk out your front door and do whatever you want? Like it takes me like 45 minutes just to get out of the front door. Yeah.

33:52Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:And another 30 minutes to get them actually in the car. Yeah. Like just get in the car. And a lot of bribery.

33:58Nicole Polizzi:Someone told me the other day I was like - I'm sweating by the time I get in the car. I was like bribery my kids with Skittles I'm like, oh, you can't do anything nowadays. Oh, I barbe with everything.

34:07Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I'm like, I don't care.

34:08Nicole Polizzi:Yeah, it's I don't go by any rules. If your kids came to you when they were in college and said, I want to do a reality show, just like what would you say?

34:19Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Please. No.

34:20Nicole Polizzi:Would you really?

34:21Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I really want them to do something different just because I know the industry and it's not great all the time. Why? I don't just a lot of shady stuff and just everyone knows you and everyone has an opinion. I don't want people like attacking them. Like they don't, they don't like filming right now. Like my little one loves the camera. He'll like touch it and be funny with it, but he's only six. He doesn't really get it. My son hates it. He's 13. He's like, I don't want to be on TV. Like don't push me. So that's why my kids aren't on TV on the show a lot because they just don't want to be. And I have to respect that for them.

34:54Michael Bosstick:How do you handle some of that? I don't want to say criticism, but some of the commentary from people that watch you or follow you. That's not nice

35:02Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:commentary oh we so thank god we all have tough skin like so many people have said horrible things about us and we're like you're just jealous um so i don't give a shit like what people say about me but like if you're talking about my kids like my husband or my friends like i i get mama bear and i get annoyed so will you fight back in the comments yeah i kill people with kindness and then they feel so dumb that they're like oh you're actually a chill person i'm like i know if you actually met me i'm i'm a normal like fun person you're adorable judge me a lot i feel like with

35:34Nicole Polizzi:you though it's like what you see is what you get like you're real on television and i think that's why it translated the show it seems to me that like you guys really were showing up who you are

35:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:and that's why everyone liked it so much yeah but i feel like the people that weren't fans of the show they just see us as like alcoholics or just people that like to party and we're like so much

35:54Nicole Polizzi:more than that well yeah you guys also are pretty damn savvy to know how to make good reality i mean

35:59Michael Bosstick:that's also why they're watching right that's why that's why the show was so successful it's like people want to see that like if you guys were just sitting around only doing laundry and tanning that would be pretty well yeah do you still tan i tan outside okay i don't know when's the last

36:13Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:time i went to a tanning bed no tanning bed anymore i mean i would here and there what's

36:17Nicole Polizzi:what are your beauty secrets i don't really have any well like your lashes like what's happening

36:23Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Fake lashes. You don't have any beauty secrets with your hair? My hair, no. So I'm Chilean. So my hair is so thick. Like my daughter, so Gianni's full-blown Italian and I'm Chilean. So with his hair so thick and my hair so thick, my kid's hair is insane. Like so thick. So I have very thick hair, no extensions. I just got it done yesterday. How do you get the perfect snooky poof? Walk us through it. Well, it's easier if you have thick hair. obviously. Okay. If you don't have thick hair and it's very thin, you got to tease the shit out of it. Okay. But I literally can just pick it up and just push it up with a clip and be done in two seconds.

37:01Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Is it, there's no hairspray? Well, yeah, I'll do the hairspray to like hold. And I don't need the hairspray.

37:08Nicole Polizzi:Because your hair is so thick. So it's, it's pretty easy. It's not like a whole intricate thing.

37:13Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:it takes two seconds. That's why when my poof was like a thing back in the day and they were selling the bump it and all these things. I'm like, you're lying. I was like, that's not what I do. Oh, they were using your likeness to sell the bumpet. And then I was like, where's my check with that? You should have said it was a bumpet and then invented some kind of bumpet for yourself. I should have really thought about it, but I wasn't thinking back then. I was just drinking.

37:36Nicole Polizzi:What does your life look like now as an entrepreneur? Like, what is your day-to-day? What are you working on?

37:43Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Well, I'm always busy with my stores. I have four stores. I'm always like doing...

37:47Michael Bosstick:Physical stores.

37:48Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. Yeah.

37:49Michael Bosstick:That's a lot of work.

37:50Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:well I had my online for a while and then once we had a break with like not filming I was like this is the perfect time to open a brick and mortar real quick so I just did it and then I have four more stores so yeah that's like a full-time job running all the four stores and like the employees and like the inventory and all that it's a lot and then I have my own wine so I'm working on like coming out with new wines I have my two podcasts that I'm doing I feel like I'm doing more what else am I doing you're being a mom I'm doing more things we're filming what are you we're still filming you're still filming yeah next season starts in january and we already filmed like half half of it well the trailer just released so you see a lot of shit go down but you see sam telling us she's pregnant and then sam having the baby which she just had and then her wedding's in december so we start filming next week to like start getting

38:40Nicole Polizzi:everything ready for that and you're gonna film the wedding what do you have to do to prepare to film a reality show i know before i come on the podcast if i'm doing like a week of shows i have to like energetically prepare because it takes a lot of your energy and your capacity is there stuff that you do to get in the in the reality show mode i don't think personally i think

39:04Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:i think just getting the house prepared because i'm not going to be home so you have to like prepping the meals doing all the laundry laying out the clothes for the kids for school just so Gianni knows everything. How long is the filming schedule? Well, usually we go on trips. So it could be like three days that I'm away. And I only do three days because I tell production, I can't be away from my kids for more than three days. So you got me for three days. So, but this one, we're not going away. We're just doing local stuff. But it's Monday to Friday and it's all day. So I'm not going to be home.

39:34Nicole Polizzi:Do you go into it with a strategy or a plan? Or is it just like, let's just see what happens?

39:39Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:You know, now it's, we've known each other for like 18 years now, I feel. So we just go in and we just enjoy each other's company and whatever happens, happens. And do you guys still fight like brother and sister? Yes, all the time. Who do you fight with the most? Well, I don't personally fight with anyone. But I mean, we get annoyed with each other. Who's the most annoying? Vinny. Vinny's annoying. He just says like his...

40:03Michael Bosstick:Vinny's getting nailed on this episode.

40:04Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh, he knows it too. He knows it. And he loves it. He loves being the villain. He just says like annoying things to everyone. and obviously sometimes like the girls will bicker a little bit because we're girls but we

40:16Nicole Polizzi:get over it is your best friend really in real life jwow yes that's your real best friend and are you i do have like five best friends but she's one but she's one of them uh-huh and do you guys

40:28Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:fight on the show too no well we get annoyed with each other like sisters but we don't fight so if michael and i were going to go to the jersey shore

40:39Nicole Polizzi:walk us through what we should do like the whole itinerary well you definitely need a weekend

40:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:so you would stay at my shore house in seaside okay because i have a snooki shore house that i still have yet to rent out yet um wait wait wait hopefully next summer house that you designed that's like your brand yeah why is it not running out you just have you have not wanted to rent it out yet i haven't wanted to yet because i feel like it's not how i want it to be and also like i have friends and family staying there all the time so it's just like i bought it two years ago and it's like all done with like snooki and leopard and and i just i just had my my nieces and nephews and family stay there so definitely next year because johnny's yelling at me to do it because he's in real estate so i think next year we'll put the snooki house on airbnb or something for um seaside heights okay you can stay at my house okay and then And obviously, go see the Shores store.

41:30Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Go see Danny. Okay. And then he'll give you the tour of the whole house, which smells like throw up in condoms. It's so gross. It still smells to this day. I don't know how we lived in that house.

41:42Michael Bosstick:You know what? When you describe that, I can smell it. Like a dirty frat house. Yes. Michael. I know exactly what you're saying right now.

41:49Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah.

41:50Nicole Polizzi:Yeah. Just like a party house.

41:52Michael Bosstick:It's like a party house. Yeah.

41:53Nicole Polizzi:I have so much to say to what you just said. when he first started dating me he took me to his frat room like no i lived in a fraternity house

42:01Michael Bosstick:yeah it does smell like socks no no don't tell this story actually no no i'm going to

42:06Nicole Polizzi:so he took me to his frat room and he tried to hook up with me in the frat room okay there's like condoms like it's sick on the floor no i'm like and i'm like ew no i'm not hooking up with you in here like court me no no listen this is a long time ago

42:22Michael Bosstick:but there was I lost one stuck between the wall and the bed yeah you're trying to hook up with me and I'm like I don't think so but but it wasn't but it wasn't one it wasn't literally I think I

42:32Nicole Polizzi:was the first girl to say no to you in that room I was like no thank you and that's when he knew he fell in love with me after I said you were like I love you every second after I said no to that

42:43Michael Bosstick:room by the way we never hooked up in that room there's like whatever whatever I had to say yeah There you go.

42:50Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:It wasn't in that room though.

42:51Michael Bosstick:I was 20 years old. This is like, you know.

42:53Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:You would have fit in with the boys. Great.

42:55Michael Bosstick:I would have spiked my hair right up. I would have canned myself. That's all they did with a couple girls. I've been doing that laundry and smashing those jam plates.

43:00Nicole Polizzi:Okay, so we stay at your house. We go to the shore house that smells like throw-up and condoms.

43:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Then what? And then obviously you want to go on the boardwalk. It's a little different now because Sandy hit. Okay. But there's still EJ's. So EJ's bar we always went to because they serve like whenever. And it's still open. It's still open. That's cool. So that's the first place I went before I got arrested on the beach. Okay. That's when I started my bender. I started at EJ's. And then you want to go to Spicey's. So Spicey's is like a Mexican restaurant. So you can get all the foods and margaritas. Okay. And then obviously Karma's not there anymore. They knocked it down. That's sad. I know. There's no clubs anymore.

43:37Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:There's bars, but there's no clubs.

43:39Michael Bosstick:Do they pull them off?

43:40Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, they just knocked Karma and Bamboo down. The two clubs that we always used to go to. and they're going to put like high rise, like condos, I think.

43:50Michael Bosstick:Do you worry about money? Do you ever think you're bad with money? If you answered yes, you are not alone. So many people report being money stressed, thinking way too much about money and just having money completely overtake their lives. That's why Lauren and I could not be bigger fans of partnering with a platform that we've grown to love called YNAB. 45:32Nicole Polizzi:This episode is brought to you by Saks Fifth Avenue. I am a big, big sunglass person. You guys know this if you follow me on Instagram stories and where I get the majority of my sunglasses is Saks. So what I do is I go to Saks.com and then I go and I check the sunglass tab and there's so many good brands. The brands that I love are Louave. I love Celine. I love Saint Laurent. They have some good Tom Ford ones, even Prada, but their sunglasses are always the best. They have like the most recent drops. I just got some Celine sunglasses that are gray. They're really, really beautiful and fresh. And I bought them on Saks.com.

46:15Nicole Polizzi:So if you're curating your fall closet or you want to upgrade your sunglass collection or you just want like something really beautiful for a date night or a vacation or hosting dinners or lounging in, you have to check out Saks.com. If you're like me and you're looking for a bunch of sunglasses, they really have you covered. Like I said, you can literally get a pair for every single moment. from travel to the beach to just taking a walk. They really have the best of the best sunglass situation going on. If you're like me and looking for sunglasses or beauty products or skincare, then check out Saks.

46:55Nicole Polizzi:Shopping should be fun and easy. Head to Saks Fifth Avenue for inspiring ways to elevate your personal style every day. Roll on. We have had so many conversations on this podcast about fasting. And the fast that I have tried about three times is by Prolon, and it's the five-day fasting mimicking diet. So this offers a drug-free way to maintain results and support long-term metabolic health. In just five days, it activates fasting pathways to burn fat, protect your muscle, and rejuvenate cells all while letting you eat real food. And how I know this is I've tried it and the food is good. Prolon is a plant-based nutrition program.

47:38Nicole Polizzi:It features soups, snacks, and beverages designed to nourish the body while keeping it in a fasting state. It's really interesting. It basically triggers cellular rejuvenation and renewal. So you're getting all the benefits that come from fasting without giving up real food. It helps you maintain your hard-earned progress. So if you are someone who is going on a vacation or maybe you're even coming off of a GLP-1 for weight loss, this is a really good one to just like kickstart something. There's so many different ways to use fasting to your advantage, and this one is a good one. It was developed over more than two decades at USC's Longevity Institute and backed by U.S.

48:21Nicole Polizzi:Medical Centers. Prolon has been shown to support fat-focused weight loss, biological age reduction, metabolic health, skin appearance, and more. For a limited time, Prolon is offering listeners 15 % off site-wide plus a$40 bonus gift when you subscribe to their five-day program. Visit prolonlife.com slash skinny. That's P-R-O-L-O-N-L-I-F-E dot com slash skinny to claim your 15 % discount and your bonus gift. prolonlife.com slash skinny. This episode is brought to you by The Skinny Confidential. We just launched new fresh mouth tape. It is so beautiful. We have navy now with a navy tin and we have white with a white tin.

49:05Nicole Polizzi:They're so beautiful. But most importantly, mouth tape is so amazing for your sleep. If you have not tried it, it has upgraded my sleep like no other. I wake up with so much more energy because I'm only nasal breathing. And I feel like it sculpts your jawline a little bit while you're sleeping because it supports your tongue posture. It's changed my life. I cannot sleep without it. And that's why we're so excited to launch a new colorway. So yes, you can always get the classic pink, but now we have uniform, which is navy and blanc, which is white up on the site. You can go shop it at shopskinnyconfidential.com and we have a code for you.

49:42Nicole Polizzi:You can use NUNU at checkout and you will get 20 % off. Use the code NUNU at checkout to get 20 % off. Shop skinnyconfidential.com. For someone who's never been there, how would you describe a Saturday there? Is it just everyone's on the beach? I imagine Pacific Beach in San Diego.

50:04Michael Bosstick:Yeah, but they have all sorts of vendors on the block and there's people and there's families. These get all walks of life. I said I went there when I was a kid. And I remember it was good for kids but there was also like a lot of adults doing adult activities no yeah it's very family vibes

50:18Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:so do you go with your kids now i bring them like off season because obviously i can't go

50:24Nicole Polizzi:yeah what do you do when you're with your kids and people come up to you oh they hate it my

50:29Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:daughter's like leave her alone i'm like you can't be nasty so what do you do do you just get the selfie and keep it no yeah i'm just like oh i'm with my kids like quick picture no like can your

50:38Michael Bosstick:kids come in and i'm like no i think it's strange when people i think it's gonna go no no i don't like this topic i'm i'm here you go i'm all for all that but i think when people are with their kids you shouldn't go but people with their kids because you're right i don't think any kid likes it and it's confusing to them and they're like who's this stranger it's strangers and it's you know like why are they you know it's just it's inappropriate yeah i think it's inappropriate but

50:58Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:like i think the fans get so excited because they they they see me as a mom with my kids on tv so they don't even think like oh i might be scaring her kid i'm just like a fan of all of you in general you know what i mean so they're not making them as kids you're just like no pictures of the kids yeah no well sometimes so my daughter giovanna she is she's an athlete she she does a competitive cheerleading all-star cheerleading so they obviously everyone knows that she's you know my daughter a cheer so all the little cheerleaders look up to her and they like go up to her and ask for pictures so it's kind of like she's starting to feel like the fame of it all but it's for her.

51:39Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:It has nothing to do with me. It's her being a cheerleader and her like killing it. And she's like, Mom, I don't know if I like that. And I was like, you can always say no, just be nice about it. So she's starting to be a little cheerleberty and like experiencing stuff herself. Well, she has the perfect person

51:54Nicole Polizzi:to talk to about it. Yeah. I feel like you have all the advice. We looked at your Instagram before you came on the show. You have 18 million followers. Like that is insane. That's a lot of followers. Oh. I mean. I feel like half of them are bots. I don't think so. It's gotta be. I don't think so. Like your show was such a moment. Yeah. 18 million people following you is insane. I love that. I mean, it's a lot. Thank you. I have to ask some like routine questions. A lot of people like routines. Do you have any morning or nighttime routines that you don't?

52:30Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Just in general? Yeah. Morning, not so much because I hate the morning. I'm not a morning person. So I'm always cranky. I hate the morning. I'm miserable. So what does your husband do?

52:39Nicole Polizzi:Let's talk about this. I want to dissect this. What does your husband do when he knows you're cranky in the morning?

52:43Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh, he still tries to talk to me. He's like, what's wrong? I'm like, you know, I'm not a morning person. Stop asking. They do it. He does it on purpose. And he's like, oh, you're cranky today. No, they want the reaction because then they want to say, what's wrong with you? Yeah.

52:57Nicole Polizzi:So annoying.

52:58Michael Bosstick:Why can't you just wake up with a smile? I do wake up with a smile.

53:02Nicole Polizzi:I have a smile, but I need to... I don't feel like talking. Yeah, I don't feel like talking.

53:08Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Like quiet, unset.

53:09Michael Bosstick:Yeah, but I mean, what if I woke up like that?

53:12Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I would love that.

53:13Michael Bosstick:No, no, I mean, if I woke up cranky, I'm just like, I'm cranky.

53:18Nicole Polizzi:If you didn't want to talk in the morning, I would be just fine until 11. If you didn't say one word. 11's a good time. I swear to God, try it for a week. You won't talk to me until 11.

53:30Michael Bosstick:I need to chat. I can't do it. Oh, God.

53:33Nicole Polizzi:I opened my eyes today. He goes, what are we going to do today? Oh, I'm like, oh, I go. I literally I had mouth tape on. I'm like, give him 20 minutes.

53:42Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I can't.

53:42Michael Bosstick:God forbid. I want to talk to my wife.

53:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:You know, no, you got to give us a good like 30 minutes. Call a friend. I need more than 30. I found out. I need like four hours.

53:50Michael Bosstick:She revealed the other day when we were doing this show. And I've been I've known her since we were 20 years old. Well, I know we've been together since I was 20 years old. And I just found this out that she wakes up in the morning and is pretending to sleep for 30 minutes laying there but she's awake.

54:06Nicole Polizzi:Oh yeah.

54:07Michael Bosstick:And I didn't know this this whole time. So instead of opening your eyes

54:10Nicole Polizzi:to signal your... You're just relaxing on your eyes closed. But it's annoying

54:13Michael Bosstick:because I'm tiptoeing around in the dark and stumbling around and smashing anything trying to respect her sleep.

54:19Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, I've done that. Like if I feel like I don't want to get up and bring the kids to school I'll do that and then Gianni does all of it. See? And then I wake up and I'm like oh what time is it? But I've been up the whole time and I'm just like relaxing.

54:30Michael Bosstick:It's so annoying because she'll do these things where she'll be like I'll be up in the morning for the kids to take them to school. And it's like. And then you're knocked out. Yeah. She's out cold.

54:38Nicole Polizzi:I think. I have a theory that I think women's hormones in the morning are different than men's. Like I cannot. You guys have some burst of testosterone in the morning. I am. My body's not made for that. Yeah. I'm really bitchy. I'll do the pickup. You do the drop off.

54:54Michael Bosstick:You miss the pickup too a lot of times.

54:57Nicole Polizzi:Stop. It happens. Get out. It's good for you. Yeah.

55:00Michael Bosstick:I check in. And I'm like, did somebody get the kids at school today if I'm not there? She's like, yeah, she will.

55:06Nicole Polizzi:Yeah, they're good. So your morning routine is to have your husband not speak to you.

55:11Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. And like the kids like relax, like stop saying mom 25 times. Like I'm going to get everything done. We're out the door and I just need to go to Starbucks and I need to get my, my, my matcha drink and then go to Target and walk around for like 30 minutes and then I'll be fine.

55:28Michael Bosstick:See every day.

55:29Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. Target or I go to Walmart. Trader Joe's. I just want to go to a store and just walk. I get that.

55:36Nicole Polizzi:I totally get what you're saying. I used to do this with HomeGoods. HomeGoods, yes. You walk around, you look at some... Smell some candles, feel blanket. Yeah, you just look at some... He has no idea what you're talking about. And then you feel so much better.

55:47Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Then you're like, alright, let's go.

55:49Nicole Polizzi:Why is that? Because we're girls and we like things. When you just walk around a store... I love it. Yeah. And I'm touching things. Yeah, I park far away, walk into HomeGoods.

56:00Michael Bosstick:Do you know what's so strange about this? this sounds like my worst morning I could ever have. Like if I woke up and that was the morning for me, I would be like,

56:07Nicole Polizzi:what's your ideal morning?

56:08Michael Bosstick:I actually would like to know your ideal morning. Not stumbling around in the store half awake. That's the, that's,

56:13Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:that's no, that's what wakes us up.

56:14Nicole Polizzi:The way he wakes up is atrocious. The alarm goes off. The water gets splashed on the face. It's, there was a meme about it. It's the water is so loud. It sounds like someone's like in the ocean. Is he clearing his throat? Oh, He did it this morning.

56:33Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Gianni does that too. So I guess it's a guy thing. What is that?

56:35Michael Bosstick:No, I think what happens is like, I swear to God, this didn't happen until I became a dad. The noises get loud. I saw an eyebrow hair the other day on me that was longer than the hair on my head. I could not believe where it came from.

56:46Nicole Polizzi:What is that throat clearing that's never happened until they got married? You just gotta get the pipes moving. Oh, yeah. You go, Yeah.

56:53Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yes. Oh, my God. I'm like, Gianni got this teeth cleaner, but it spits out water. Oh. And now that noise and then, I'm like, oh my God.

57:04Michael Bosstick:He's gagging himself in the bathroom?

57:05Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I hate it. And then he goes out and he's like, want to hook up? I'm like, get away from me. Like, I don't like you right now.

57:12Nicole Polizzi:That sound that you all make. Yeah, it's really, we got to rebrand that.

57:17Michael Bosstick:Well, I don't know. I feel like you got to get the body awake or something.

57:22Nicole Polizzi:It's so gross. And then he gets the newspaper out and it's like. Oh God, he's such a dad.

57:29Michael Bosstick:Yeah, it's really like, I don't know what's happening.

57:31Nicole Polizzi:Sometimes I think it's like an actual prank. Like how, even how you open the door is like so annoying. The closet door. I can hear you. Tell how you really feel. I can hear you putting on your shorts. How do you hear someone putting it on? See, this is marriage. It's a lot. It's intense.

57:48Michael Bosstick:Well, I think it's just kind of like you want to like announce that you're there. You're around.

57:53Nicole Polizzi:We got it. We got it. We hear it. It's around. I wish you would wake up just subtly and quietly. The bed already is vibrating you awake and just go downstairs.

58:01Michael Bosstick:Maybe I'll wake up one morning and just be like, head over to Target and stumble around for a while.

58:04Nicole Polizzi:Great. See what's going on in there. The trick, I really do think that that's true. What they say, like the trick to marriage is separate closets and separate bathrooms. Yeah. Keep it separate.

58:13Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. That would be great. Oh, get away. It's like, ugh. The whole thing. And it's nice to have alone time.

58:21Nicole Polizzi:That's not talked about enough.

58:22Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. I agree. It's nice to have alone time. even like couples that I talk to like my neighbor they're obsessed with each other they go on dates like twice a week like they just love each other they sex each other like all the things and then when he goes away for work she's like oh thank god she's like I can sleep in I can do what I want she's like I'm so excited yeah it's a thing like we love you so much but it's so nice to be alone sometimes

58:48Michael Bosstick:no I think that's good for everybody I need to be alone too I need to go recharge

58:52Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:yeah

58:54Michael Bosstick:okay Let's not act like you don't chatter in at the wrong moments too.

58:57Nicole Polizzi:I don't know about that. Maybe around like 12 o 'clock I'll have something to say, but it's not until 12.

59:03Michael Bosstick:No, do you know what her thing is? It's like she machine gun fires text messages at me.

59:08Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I thought you were going to say farts. No.

59:11Michael Bosstick:Like rapid, like every thought that comes into her head comes through on a text.

59:15Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:It's a string. In a long chain. That's normal. Yeah, see? Yeah.

59:19Michael Bosstick:I don't know if normal is the word.

59:21Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Girls do that.

59:22Nicole Polizzi:Yeah, girls do that.

59:24Michael Bosstick:Like every stream of consciousness that comes in needs to be.

59:26Nicole Polizzi:And guys have dirty condoms and throw up stuck to their college rooms.

59:30Michael Bosstick:I don't use condoms anymore.

59:33Nicole Polizzi:Okay.

59:34Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Do you like to be called Snooki or Nicole? I have to ask you that before you leave. Like personally. Yeah, it's whatever. I think personally, like if we were friends, like I would want you to call me Nicole. Okay. Like my best friends from school, like my best friends are from like preschool. I'm going to see them Sunday. I can't wait. So they're still my besties. When they say Snooki, I want to throw up. You don't like that. I'm like, oh, God. It's such a turnoff.

59:57Michael Bosstick:What's the origin of that nickname? I don't even know if I know this.

1:00:00Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:So my only one friend called me Snooki. And our favorite show or our favorite movie was Save the Last Dance. Okay. And the DJ was named Snook. Okay. And he was like, Snook the coochie crook. And I was like the first one out of my friends to kiss a guy. Yeah. So she was like, you're the coochie crook. You're Snook from Save the Last Dance. so when we applied for the show they wanted everyone to have nicknames and i'm like i don't know people my friends call me nick or nicky because i'm nicole but i was like my one friend calls me snookies so let me put it on there and then i was forever known yeah that brand my my space name was snook it was the thing i guess yeah well it's i think it's like it's like kind

1:00:44Michael Bosstick:of iconic at this point right like that's like well yeah i'm glad i i don't mind it no it's good

1:00:48Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:But like personal stuff and like, yeah, I do like Nicole. Where can everyone find you?

1:00:53Nicole Polizzi:And I mean, they already follow you. In bed, in my bed. 18 million followers. Where can they find what you're selling? Tell us all the things. What did you bring me?

1:01:02Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh, so I brought you some nostalgic merch for my store. Okay. So it's just like funny graphic tees and just funny Jersey Shore things. But you can find me on Instagram and TikTok at Snooki. I'm just starting to like get used to TikTok. my daughter taught me how to do it what's the trick oh just like how to like edit it and do all the trends and stuff like that she's really helping me so yeah i'm on snooki at social media what's the most iconic thing that you sell in the snooki shop probably my wears the beach stuff so like me getting arrested like it's always just selling out yeah that's a good one also the slippers oh yeah my slippers the slippers have got to do well my slippers yeah but it's not just Jersey Shore merch I so I'm I'm my own buyer and I design a lot of things so it's basically like you're shopping my closet so even though there's a lot of merch and stuff in Jersey Shore things it's still just like cute girl clothes so like leopards camos all the prints I love cozies so I'm big on the cozies that's what I love the second that I'm out of here it's like a whole new world for Michael I want to be in my pajamas I'm putting leggings and a sweatshirt on and I'm scrubbing my face.

1:02:14Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah. And don't speak to me. So I got ready for you guys today. You're welcome.

1:02:17Nicole Polizzi:Well, we appreciate it. Snooki, Nicole, I get to call you now. Thank you so much for coming on the show. Of course. And I'd like to book a trip to the Jersey Shore. Thank you, Nicole.

1:02:27Michael Bosstick:Yeah, so we'll cancel the French Riviera and we will book the Snooki Jersey Shore house. Well, yeah,

1:02:33Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:if you guys are ever in Jersey, you could just come over. We'll have martinis. I would love it. The kids can play. We'll have like a nice date. I feel like you would like her husband too.

1:02:42Michael Bosstick:I'm sure.

1:02:42Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh, Gianni's great.

1:02:43Michael Bosstick:We can clear our throats together

1:02:44Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:and start a symphony. Do you like golf?

1:02:47Michael Bosstick:No, I do like golf, but I haven't had time to like, it takes a lot of time, right? Oh, okay.

1:02:52Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, because he's at the country club every day. A lot of people are asking you about golf.

1:02:55Michael Bosstick:I know. You look like a golfer.

1:02:57Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh, hold on. This is the perfect ending. He needs to clear the pipes.

1:03:00Michael Bosstick:Guys, I think like once you commit to golf, I feel like if I started playing, I'd be super into it. Are you athletic? Yeah, but I'm scared to commit to it because I know once you get into it, it's like a real thing people fall in love with then it's a whole time suck.

1:03:13Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Oh, yeah, you're too busy.

1:03:14Michael Bosstick:I just know that I would be excited about it. I'll go play tennis. You know what?

1:03:17Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:I should send him to play golf in the morning. Yeah, there you go. So he doesn't bother you.

1:03:24Michael Bosstick:Yeah, all my friends that get into golf, they become obsessed with it.

1:03:28Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Yeah, that's my husband.

1:03:29Michael Bosstick:Yeah.

1:03:30Lauryn Evarts Bosstick:Okay. Thank you for coming on. Thank you. Thank you for coming on.
