In short

Floyd Raglin, a car-dealership marketer and former pro athlete, discusses Lamborghini/Supercar Saturday events at the Revs Institute, using luxury cars to build community, hope, and “old school” respect. He also connects car culture to health/diet, integrity in media, and the psychology of motivation (hunger, discipline, and values). He describes how Supercar Saturday started through celebrity car deals (Ricky Williams, Dwyane Wade) and grew into family-focused rallies with supercars, simulators, and group drives.

Guests

Floyd Raglin is the main guest. The host is Val (mentioned throughout). Other named figures: Ricky Williams and Dwyane Wade (celebrity car-deal clients), Wyclef Jean (has an F1 McLaren), and John (Raglin’s partner). Examples/claims: a terminal-cancer child’s wish for a hospital car rally; kids touching/sitting in cars; Raglin’s “impact over ratings” stance; diet changes (lean fish/chicken, avoiding red meat) and “car care vs body care”; concerns that NIL in college sports removes hunger and needs regulation.

0:40Underserved, man. What happened to morals and values? And I mean, just values and respect. It's like, I mean, what happened? Hi, how you doing? Yes, ma 'am. No, man. Who's your door before, lady? You know what I mean? It's completely out the window, man. It's out the window. Like nowadays, you say hi to a female in the gym. You open a door. They think it's an advance. Oh, yeah. It's jaded, man. Man, everybody's trying to come up. Everybody's trying to do something big. I mean, hell, I'll admit I've built this show, but it's been done on the back of integrity and serving the community. Because if it were for me, Floyd, I mean, I would have quit this shit a long ass time ago.

1:16Beautiful day on a Saturday in Southwest Florida. We're here at the Revs Institute. You know, you guys did a fun run from Lamborghini and Broward all the way to Lamborghini and Naples. And now we're here for Supercar Saturday, man. And it's an amazing event. Talk to us about that. So, long story short, Val, when Ricky Williams signed with the Dolphins. Yep. Ricky wanted to do a car deal. And so I said, well, Val called me up. She said, I could put you in touch with Warren Henry Otto, who was Range Rover. I did the deal with Ricky Williams. I said, Warren, who's doing the marketing? Nobody. I said, I'll do the marketing because Ricky's my guy.

1:53A year later, Dwayne Wade signs with the Miami Heat. Dwayne Wade wants a car deal. a vow. I want to get a car deal for Dwayne Wade. But the one here, he did a deal for Dwayne Wade. Ended up doing his marketing. We ended up buying Lamborghini Palm Beach. Warren goes, how are we going to get people to Palm Beach? We're a Dade County store. Well, we can get some celebrities up there and do like cars and coffee. Long story short, Warren's like sold it out, whatever. Lamborghini came to us and said, you want a broad county point? We ended up in Lamborghini Broad. Warren goes, how are we going to get people for the Lamborghini Park.

2:30I said, we could do like we did in Lamborghini Palm Beach, but really not the cars and cars were more supercars. And that's how Supercar Saturday became. It's amazing, man, because like, and it's so funny, like let's go back a little bit. You're talking about Val, right? Because she dude, that girl starts more shit than in a good way. Like she told me that you told her, because she asked you like, how'd you get in the cars? And she's and you said, you Val? Yeah. That's how it started, right? It's like, and she's like, I don't

3:01When did making plans get this complicated? It's time to streamline with WhatsApp. The secure messaging app that brings the whole group together. Use polls to settle dinner plans. Send event invites and pin messages so no one forgets mom's 60th. And never miss a meme or milestone. All protected with end-to-end encryption. It's time for WhatsApp. Message privately with everyone. Learn more at whatsapp.com. I don't think that's it. Yeah. Yes, it is. I did the deal with Ricky Williams. That's so cool, man. I did the deal with Ricky Williams. Then we did Dwyane Wade. But Val was doing the marketing for Warren Henriotto, and she's the one who hooked me up with him.

3:38Long story short, 2002 when Ricky was with the Dolphins, I'm still with Warren Henry, you know, and we've now known 30 dealerships. We're on Lamborghini Broward, and we're on Lamborghini Naples. That's why I'm going to come from Broward to Naples, because those are both our stores. It's so cool. Cool event, man. Like, I wasn't sure what I was going to expect, because you know you're like hey meet me here at this time and we'll drive over together in my car i'm like all right cool well i thought i was getting there right like maybe before all the shit was going down i go up i'm like what the hell man i took like the last parking spot it was wild man people out there a lot of people with amazing cameras families kids they had a simulator in there man it's just what a really cool event to not just about be about cars.

4:23I mean, that's part of it. But from what I saw, man, it brought families together and it's given them something fun and clean to do on a Saturday morning. And go back to me again. Like I said, I play professional football for a living. I love the cars, but you see my guys, this little kid might not be able to afford that car. No matter, you know, let them sit in your car, let them touch your car, let them be, you know, this makes these people date. It sure does. So for us, you know, if you can't, you're making these people a day. So, you know, let them enjoy it, you know. And the group, that's our group, a great group of guys, you know what I'm saying?

4:59This is fun for us. We wanted to be fun for everybody else. And you met a lot of the guys. I did, man. I met your partner, John. Yeah, John. Super nice dude. Everybody's just so down to earth, man. You know what I mean? But we do this because, of course, driving these cars, you know, you don't want to be just like, I'm the guy in Lamborghini driving down the street. It's more fun we're in a group and doing it together, you know. So that's why we do all these different fun things together. So we're here in Naples, man. Naples takeover. Come on, dude. Seriously, it's what it was. Going down 41. There's a line of freaking cars behind us.

5:30Everybody pulling over. You got people coming out of their businesses, dude, with their phones. Like, what's going on? Charles, like, you got people coming out of their business. I'm like, you got people coming out of their business, man. She's got scrubs on. She probably got patients and shit. I'm like, you need to get back in there, man. Hold that thought right there. Hold on. We're going to pull that tooth in a second. that tooth in a second. We got to go out there, a bunch of Lambos and exotic cars driving down the road. I just think it's super cool like that, man, because it, you know, again, cars bring people together and it's much more than just about the vehicle, man.

6:00And so when you talk about your old school values, right. And I'd have to say like, you know, you, you hinted at about, you know, a kid that may not be able to afford that car. Let them sit in your car, let them, let them go for a spin or let them do whatever. Right. But dude, man, but, but, but to me, like that's about hope too. Yeah. Because when they can touch something and they can sit down on it and be in there and just understand that something like this can be attainable for them, it could change their life. And it changed a lot of kids' life. We just did a drive Friday to this kid who had terminal cancer and they did a rally.

6:34All the kid wanted before whatever was to have a group of cars drive by his window in the hospital. That's all he wanted. And these guys did it on Friday. Come on, man. So, you're about to make a trade based on a friend's text. But which you do you listen to? Is it, we could buy a house in Tulum. Get optioning those options. We could lose everything. Or let's do a little research. Get your head in the trade and make the investment decision that's right for you. Learn more at finra.org slash trade smart. and that's what that's what this whole thing is you know it's you drive a car cool but it's what can you do to change people to change lives to do something better like you said the better people to give them hope i could do this i could have this you know that's what it's all about you know yeah man and again it just brings happiness because you walk in here to the rev institute you see all these amazing cars pretty and my buddy kyle gets excited hey hey i gotta go show you this mclaren yeah it's his f1 mclaren it's like the only one it's like it's crazy i'm like yeah it's wyclef's wyclef is it his wyclef was the first one to have that car in the united states yeah wow freaking wyclef and that's my dude that's my guy dude's dope man yeah he's a good dude he's a car guy oh really car guy he comes he actually did a song and i'm gonna find it about supercross saturday florida dude that's gotta be your theme song yeah no we played it i gotta i I got to find it.

8:06I'm going to have Elo sends over to you. I want that. I want that. We'll work it in, man. Yeah, yeah. It's a pretty badass song. White Cliff's my guy. Cliff's a good dude. You know, it's so funny because the more I am connected, you know, through to people like you and public figures, you know what I noticed? Man, these are some good-ass people, man. And I just feel like Joe Public always looks at them as kind of like, hey, they pigeonhole him like, you're an actor. You're a musician. You're not. No, no, no. That's something that they do. Right. How has it been for you and, you know, all these people that you know to disconnect from what you actually do to who you are and how you're accepted in the community and treated?

8:51You know, with me, anybody that knows me, of course, you know, I work with the NFL. I keep my NFL life here. I keep my car life here. I keep my public life here. you know I try not to dabble in both you know what I mean because my professional athletes guys they're a certain way you gotta have them a certain way my car guys are a certain way you gotta have them me as my public life man I'm born man I mean compared to what I used to be I'm Netflix that's what's up you know it's so funny when your mother's say be hungry for the lights come on that's how I live these days you know what I mean I mean the most I do is riding around with these guys I train every day and that's it you know but again the older you get more easier you want life you know what i mean life because i've done it all seen it all been there with it all and you just take every little bit of part of your life and you just make yourself a better person but it still it goes about how you were raised you know what i mean sure does man you know i think there's also choices too right like like you were raised really well you had a mom that you know dropping the hammer on dj robin when he walks in the house dropping that bomb cussing right but then you also have the other side of it that there's a lot of people out there that have made it in this world that that didn't have that upbringing and there was a choice right do i want to be a good person do i want to give good in the world or be bad or give bad right and so it's always nice to see people that are out there doing things that are positive but i just think the overall theme man is like you know this would not be successful what you're doing right now if it were for you it's for people everybody we're here to serve man can we just talk about that real quick like I don't care what people's viewpoints or what God they represent or believe in, but, man, we're here to serve people.

10:42We're here to serve the world. Man, and in this world we're in right now, man, wow. Underserved, man. Wow, you know, is what happened to morals and values and just, I mean, just values and respect. It's like, I mean, what happened? You know what I mean? we lost that in the ways, you know what I mean? And that's another reason why I stand this day to myself, because it's this world we're in. It's crazy, man. Like, disrespect, you know what I mean? Like, hi, how you doing? Yes, ma 'am. No, man, hold the door before a lady. You know what I mean? If I can help somebody else, that's out the window.

11:20It's completely out the window. It's out the window. Like nowadays, you say hi to someone, you say hi to a female in the gym, you open a door, they think it's in advance. Oh, yeah. Like, no. Like, I'm, hi because i'm a nice person right so like i just think that when when we look at this world it's jaded man everybody's trying to come up everybody's trying to do something big i mean hell i'll admit i'm i'm built i've built a brand i've built this show but it's been done on the back of integrity yeah right and authenticity we talked about that a little bit and serving the community because if it were for me floyd i mean i would have quit this shit a long ass time ago.

11:57Remember what I told you when Val first asked me to do this show? I said, Val. Remember what I told you? I said, Val. Is it a podcast? I said, I think a podcast is people selling their souls just to get ratings. You know what I mean? It's like this. What happened to what you do, you take it to the grave. Like I've been friends of mine who've passed and celebrities and people say, you need to write a book or you need to do it. I said, no, man. Why? You know, my girl says it best. She goes, why is there a time you see your athlete or celebrity friend, you just start laughing? Because we got memories, man.

12:33That's cool. You know what I mean? Problem with people now, they don't have memories. It could be a year later, I'll see you, and we're going to laugh about today. Yeah, of course. You know, we're not going to end. We're going to laugh about it. When I see my athlete friends, celebrity friends, it could be years later, and we just laugh. You know, it's so funny because my best friend, Quinn Stewart, and Ryan Patterson, two guys that are super close to me. We played baseball together at LSU. You went to LSU? Yeah, man. I played baseball. I went to Southern. You went to Southern? I went to Southern.

13:01Come on, bro. Come on, man. Yeah. It's a connection. Is Val like in the background and be like, okay, connect these two because of this. They don't know about this. They'll discover it, man. That's hot. Baton Rouge, man. That place is hot, bro. Love it. Baton Rouge. I was there with Lyman White, Dalton Hilliard. Wow. The Giants. What's his name? Played with the Giants. Big lineman. He was there. But yeah, we used to all go back. That's wild, bro. Yeah, man. It was stomping grounds in Baton Rouge, man. Come on, man. Are you from? No, I'm from Illinois originally, yeah. You're from Illinois. Yeah, but I went to school down in Southern.

13:39I love Baton Rouge, man. It's the best, bro. That girl fish, man. Oh, man. It's the best. It's the best. Everything there. The people. Yeah, the people. So cool, man. So funny. My story, Sean, I went to UNLV my freshman year. to about 79, man. And so I remember the first week in school, they got all the athletes together in the room. They said, don't worry about going to class. I'm going to appoint you a booster. Whatever you do, don't fuck over your booster. Never fined. I got this big Johnny on this hotel. Hey, Florida, who should have been on the game? Give me your tickets. I told my dad, I said, I'm watching this shit on TV, right?

14:17What am I doing? Yeah, I'm like, dad, I don't think I'm alone here, you know? but it's funny because like going back to it, like I'll link up with Q, like he'll fly in, he'll hang out with me and my wife and my kids. Or we went to Texas, a couple of Texas, a couple of times. And our buddy, Ryan Patterson just got married in March. Okay. And we just see each other and we just. And laugh. That's what I'm saying, bro, man, we go to some of this shit, some of this shit. Like, thank God there wasn't social media back then. I say that all the time. I say that all the time. me and Dennis said bro we'd have been done a long time ago for social media done me and LT we'd have done a long time ago social media me and all my guys a long time but you know we got we got this memories so when we see I'll run into somebody my girl always said why you guys always laugh when you I see I said bro if you only knew yeah but we know and you don't even have to say anything no you don't know it's a look it's a look it's a look it's a look yeah and you just start laughing I know and all this stuff just start turning through your head.

15:20You just wish, you know what I'm saying? But at least you know you had those moments. Do you remember the clip that Kevin Hart did about when you become my best friend, you've already bought into my bullshit. My bullshit is your bullshit. We don't talk about our bullshit. All I got to do is look at you. Like, and you know. And you know. And not to say anything. And you know. You already signed up for this. And you know. That's a good friendship, right? How many of those friendships have you been able to not just bring into the car world, but also make new ones in this industry? My sports world is a different world.

15:55Different folks, man. I know you know who I've dealt with. Special guys. I got some great guys in this car world, but it's different. You know what I mean? It's nothing like winning them trenches and you going through it together. You play sports. Well, you learn about their soul in that. Yeah, bro. You can't replace that. You can't, no. And I tell people the biggest thing, I've done this. And when you walk through that stadium, you went to LSU with Zy. When you retire, you will never be able to replace that feeling. No, you can't. You can't. When you're in that locker room, you'll never be able to replace.

16:37That's what you miss. Now I miss the practice. It's just a camaraderie. I don't miss a practice. You know, it's a camaraderie. Nobody misses that. Yeah, it's that. You know what I mean? And so it's different, man. But you take that, and my girl is like, why do I never get excited? I said, baby, it's hard to get excited about things when you've done so much. Dude, that's a good point because I battle with this with my wife. She says, and I've talked about this multiple times, and the audience is probably tired of listening to it, but it keeps coming up. So there's a reason, right? And what I'm finding is the more I'm connected to high-level folks like you, we're the same.

17:16We all go through the same. It's not that I'm not ever grateful for where I'm at. It's that there's another climb and it never stops. You ain't ready to get that climb again. You never, it never stops. It ain't the money. No. It ain't the views. No. It's the grind that you went through to get here. Mm-hmm. You can't replace it. No. Because once you got here, you can't replace it. But something people are going to say about, oh, that conversation with Floyd. I'm like, yeah, that conversation with Floyd was dope. But it was about everything before. it was the the the meeting right the conversation then it was like we couldn't get it to work virtually then we met at lamborghini and then you didn't even know who i was at first you thought i was someone different like hey you go to rocco's tacos because you ain't got that wristband i'm like what are you talking about lunch i'm like fuck bro i'm like what the fuck are you talking about like what do you mean okay a wristband i'm like when are we filming we're supposed to film at 12 30 and then this guy's face completely contorted and changed because he realized i was who I was and it was just like oh then we're family yeah exactly but it is funny because like it's the the conversation's cool yeah this is cool yeah but it's the the lead up man it's like the process and everybody gets so focused on on this right here yeah that but but that ain't it that ain't it yeah the interview was cool but everything going up to like Val was freaking oh this is not gonna work it's a Val we can make it work yeah yeah but you know she's like she goes well do you want me to conference them in i'm like yeah conference them in we'll talk and she goes and she goes well i don't want to be in the middle girl you're the one that died you don't want to die but no it's um but it's all good but like those things like those certain pressure points right those those misunderstandings and and the preparation just like with with athletics and then podcast or even events here at rev institute with supercar saturday like bro the event it ain't that ain't it like you you look back like why can't you why can't you be excited about what you've accomplished and like well because what I accomplished is because of all this shit that's what I'm excited about right yeah I like to see everybody else having a good time people always ask me why you do this it's fun to me it keeps me occupied it gives me a challenge to put this together get all this together but that's what I do I mean it's like people like you should be making this it's not about that with me, man.

19:40You know what I mean? I hear that shit all the time, Floyd. Oh bro. Like bro, how many, how many DMS do I get? Or somebody say like, I'm kind of blown away that you're not making 150 K a month. I'm like, but, but, but like, but how, like, not even, not even how, but it's like, wait a second. The way we're doing this is different. We're doing it out of authenticity. My goal isn't to make that. My goal is to make an impact and the money follows. It follows. somebody follows it follows that's what it's all about look swindling on Instagram people I had a buddy in mind he goes why you don't have this car why you don't do this why you don't make this I said man look now that this makes my life you know what I mean I train like a motherfucker every day I'm 64 years old you're 64?

20:31I'm 64 get the fuck out of here dog my dad took my whole car group, the Brandon Marshall's gym. Okay. I said, man, bump the cars. I like you guys as friends. How the fuck you riding around in a half million dollar car and you pulling up to a McDonald's, but you put pin-pin gas in your car, but you eat like shit. So I mean, you take better care of the car than you do yourself. That doesn't make sense to me. You know what I mean? So come on, let me show you how the blood work, how to eat right, nutrition. I took them all to Brandon Marshall's gym. That's sick, dude. I said, I do this because I care about you.

21:04Fuck the car. I care about you guys. Now, if you want to take it in, that's on you, but this is what I care about. I want you around to be able to drive that car. But it don't make any sense to me that you put the treatment, PRP treatment on a car, put the new tires, the rims, you put premium gas, you don't put regular gas in your car, but you put regular food and bullshit food in your body. Come on, man. So do you take better care of a car than you do yourself? it's not connected you know it's so funny because like i've been there right i've been there and in december i made that switch for myself and you know a lot of times i think people try to make that shift out of shame and hatred towards themselves and and this time for me i made it out of love i'm like hey man i deserve more like you deserve to to feed your body better you deserve to look better because you only got one you got one bro but and again here's the thing the other is like the food is mentioned in the Bible.

21:57How many times? Thousands. Yeah. It's mentioned. One of the majorly discussed things in the Bible is the food. Yeah. It's filling the Holy Spirit with food that is put on the surface for you to eat, not processed food. Right? But then when I look at it, it's like once I did that, my mind started working differently. Then my show got better. Everything got better. But most importantly, I ain't worried about getting sick and not being able to take care of my family. Right. You play sports. Part of sports is your diet. But because you transition in life, you got to go back to what you know. Me, I train every day.

22:37Me, when I relax on the weekends, I go hit the track. I go, I'm on a football field three days a week. I'm on the track one day a week. Why are you out there? And I go out there 12 noon. What? Because that's the only place I go with no cell phone. I'm going to be the only one out there. But that's what I know. That relaxes me. Yeah. you know I like to beat myself up that's what I know you know what I mean everybody goes it's hot okay good bring water and that's what man look that's my relaxation when I go to not going to the gym because I'm not going to the gym people like to talk I hate going to the gym got those headphones in man oh but yeah people talking I'm like that's your eyes because I'm listening to my body Yeah.

23:23You know, and I'll go to the field. I'm not anyone out there. My girl goes out there. Funny story. My girl, I've been with her 19 years. When we first started going out, I said, let me tell you how this relationship's going to work. I work out like a motherfucker every day. We're going to work. You got to work out like a motherfucker every day. That's awesome. 19 years, we're still together. You know what she does? She works out like a motherfucker every day. She gets me up some days. Rinse takes your laundry and hand delivers it to your door, expertly cleaned and folded, So you could take the time once spent folding and sorting and waiting to finally pursue a whole new version of you.

23:58Like tea time you. Mmm. Or this tea time you. Or even this tea time you. So did you hear about Dave? Or even tea time, tea time, tea time you. Mmm. So update on Dave. It's up to you. We'll take the laundry. Rinse. It's time to be great. But it keeps you connected too, right? You got to have something in common. You can't, she can't be eating steak and eggs and all this. And you try to eat healthy. How do you think that's going to work? Yeah. It's not. You don't eat steak and eggs? No, fuck no. I don't eat red meat. Oh, okay. So let's not. See, I eat the shit out of red meat, dude. Oh, bro. You ever had a colonic?

24:37No. How old are you? I'm 46. We'll get a colonic. Okay. We'll get a colonic. When you, so, I base everything on a car. A radiator, I mean a radiator. It's like this. through all the years all that gunk builds up on it you know all your flushing ready to get all that gunk yeah your colon's the same way all the years that stuff build up on your walls the reason you get a colonic is to flush your walls and get all that gunk up your walls like this through the years it gets like this when that bitch close it's too late so what do you eat? chicken? chicken, fish chicken, fish salad Now it's boring.

25:20It's boring. Yeah. But I mean, I used to eat steak when I played ball. I'm not trying to do all that. When I see what comes out of you, once you see what comes out of you, because you can see it, I'm never eating again. You know what I mean? And I just don't like that bloated feeling. Yeah. You know, like, I just. I never feel that. I typically, I stick with like more of like a modified carnivore. Like the only carb all I eat would be a vegetable or a fruit. Yeah. Once in a while, I'll have kind of a refeed meal. But for the most part, I eat pretty lean, right? But I never looked at the whole red meat versus chicken.

25:57You know, it's about digest. Red meat is hard to digest, man. Okay. You know, and that's why I do it. You know, I eat fish, a lot of fish. My girl used to like that too now. You know what I mean? What kind of fish? Salmon. That's my go-to salmon. I love salmon. You want to hear a funny story about salmon? What? So this dude, this guy that lived me way back in the day, his name was Jamie Lee. And I was at, when I went home in California, he's my roommate, right? We were younger. I'm from California. I'm from the East Bay, like Conquer Wall Creek area. So I coached football at Monterey Junior College.

26:33Get out of here. Monterey's beautiful, dude. Yeah, I coached two years up there football. Monterey's beautiful. But so he's like, hey, him and his dad went fishing. And he's like, I got all these salmon steaks. I'm like, cool. So he brings them home. We grill them up. And I love that. It tastes so good until I found all these damn rib bones in it. Like they weren't, he didn't take out the bones. Oh, it's got the rib bones. So now I have an aversion to it. I won't even touch it. Yeah, you're scared it's going to get caught in your throat. I won't even touch it. Yeah, it's going to gag you out. It's disgusting.

26:58I'm not touching it. Yeah, it's going to gag you out. I know it's like the best, right? But man, so what's going to go on here the rest of the day here at the Rebs and Soup? So today we're here at Rebs. We live here. We go to Rocco's Tacos for lunch. We live here. One of my buddies, you and me, I introduce you to him, Rick. He has a crazy car collection. Then we'll check in at one of the hotels on Fifth Avenue. Then we'll go to dinner. That's nice. You're going to stay the night, then you're going to go back tomorrow. We're going to stay the night. Then we get up and drive back in the morning.

27:24Very cool. End up downtown Brickell for another car show. And that's our weekend. You're doing it again. You're doing it again. My wife lived in Brickell when I met her, man. Man, Brickell's crazy, bro. Is it crazy now? You haven't been there lately? Not lately. Man, it looks like Little Manhattan now. No shit. Oh, it's so bad, right? I know the Brickell City Center. I mean, that just got built. Yeah, yeah. That was kind of cool. There's a cool taco. Casa Tua. Yeah, there's a cool little taco spot. I'm staying. I'm staying. Is that what the one you're talking about? No, Casa Tua is downstairs.

27:51Okay. Casa Tua is bad at. What is it? It's, I wouldn't say Italian, but it's pretty good. You got to call me next time you come to Miami. I will. We got to go hang out. For sure. Yeah. I mean, if I go to Miami, it's probably just going to see you anyway. Yeah, yeah. We got to come hang out. Yeah.

28:10It's just coming up, dude Yeah, we got our NFL PA convention In two weeks We've got the whole Diplomat Resort Oh, that's cool Yeah, so we're doing that in two weeks So I'll have all the guys that come out here for the weekend We do a bunch of seminars And fitness stuff I got a buddy that plays in the NFL That lives five doors down from me, man Really? Yeah, Benjamin St. Juiced He was with the Commanders And now he just got a deal he's going to, he's out with the Chargers now. Nice. So it's a funny story about him. He started in Canada. He's Canadian. Big Canadian. Yeah. And then he's from there.

28:47And then he went to a Michigan football camp and Harbaugh got him a scholarship. Oh, shit. Yeah. So, dude, they ended up going. He went to Minnesota after that and then the NFL. But now he's back with Harbaugh. It's wild, huh? He might be pretty good this year. He might be, man. Yeah. He might be. He's going to be the team this year. Yeah. It's his daughter's birthday today, too. happy one year birthday to her man you're gonna come to dinner what are you doing tonight tonight I don't know what I got going tonight yeah come meet us I'll let you know we're gonna do dinner yeah shoot me a text yeah so now I gotta get back for some stuff yeah my wife's gotta go buy clothes we're going on vacation this week yeah I'm nervous dude right so wifey looks at me so we start talking about cars and we're talking about all that see that's I told you my show was good see I told you so she's so you excited she said to me last night I don't think you're excited about going to Ecuador I'm like, I'm excited.

29:39I'm excited. She goes, I said, baby, you told me so many war stories about your country, about people getting kidnapped and shit, about how hard it is to drive there, people driving off mountains. Like, I have the fear of God in me to go to your country right now. And that's your fault. I'm like, that's your fault. So she's got to do some shopping and stuff. But I might be able to come out for dinner. So my girl is from Russia. Oh. And she's there vacationing with her family. And she always said, you want to go? hell no you can go Russia I don't think brothers hang out too much have you seen Rocky IV I'm not going to Russia I'm good with Russia so I get what you mean going to the front country but it's going to be alright we wouldn't put the kids in that situation if it were bad so the point is if I can get out there I'll let you know just let me know where you're going to be dinner, everything like that you go back tomorrow It was just so nice to have you on the show, man.

30:36No, no. I knew we was going to connect. I knew we had something. First time I spoke to him on the phone, I was like, man, this guy's all right. Because I was like, I told him, I said, I don't know about those podcasts. I called Dennis up. I said, Dennis, I'm going to do it. Why the fuck you doing that? Because he need to do it now. We do it together, the three of us. Bro, Dennis. Because Dennis would do it, man. It'd be fun. Dennis is, I don't. You know, Dennis is like, you know, see, we old school, man. But this is easy. because like a lot of people, they just want to get shit out of you. Nope.

31:06That we don't want to talk about. You know what I mean? That's a clickbait shit, man. Leave that to Alexandra Cooper. Fuck that. Yeah. And what they do, whatever you say, they're going to twist it a thousand ways before it goes, it gets aired. You know what I mean? We don't do that here, man. You know? We don't do that. And that's what I was scared of when Val asked me. I was like, man, I don't know, Val. I said, because Al finds out Dennis finally, they can be pissed the fuck off of me. You know what I mean? I'm like, oh, bro. You know? Nah, man. And we do it right here. It's funny. So I grew up, I was a big Bulls fan.

31:32So, I mean, I haven't watched basketball since, you know. That was the best. I lived in Chicago with Dennis. Did you really? Bro. Dude. That's what I tell people. I lived a different life, bro. I lived with Dennis the whole time in Chicago when he played for the Bulls. Oh, my God. Yeah. Scary. Bro, that TV series they did with the Chicago Bulls. Oh, The Last Dance. The Last Dance. That was so cool, man. I was there. No way. Yeah. I've watched that thing three times. I introduced her to Carmen Electra. Did you really? Yeah, I was at the wedding. You knew Carmen. No, Carmen's my girl. She's cool.

32:10Yeah, she's my girl. That's awesome. But yeah, so that's a story and another story. Yeah, yeah. That's off the air, folks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We can't tell you. That's somebody's business. You have to be there type of story. You know what I mean? But yeah, no. He's my brother. That's awesome. I got a guy father for my kids. He's my brother. Is he local or where is he living at nowadays? So me and Dennis and everybody together, in California together, we moved out to Florida together. And I'm like, Dennis, I can't hang out on the streets no more, man. They start getting mad at me because we don't want to go.

32:43I said, Dennis, I can't, bro. I just don't want to be out there. So he got a girlfriend. He moved to Houston. So he's living in Houston now. Cool, cool. Yeah, I'm actually flying out next week to go see him. I'm going to be in Austin in the beginning of August. I love Austin. speak at an event. I think that's, Houston and Austin are a good, what? That's a good. That's a nice, that's a nice ride. That's a nice ride. Yeah, we won't even be close. Yeah, but, because you got to go Houston, Austin, Dallas, and then Houston. Oh, it's way up there. Yeah, it's way up there, but yeah, last time I was in Austin, I was with Ricky.

33:14Okay. Bro, I went to Austin with Ricky. I said, Ricky, you took a pay cut going to the NFL compared to University of Texas. pay for it. How are the cars? Yes. So Ricky goes, you want to see the campus? Yes. 10 o 'clock at night. Ricky got a key to swipe every building at UT. We walk around the campus at 10 o 'clock at night. Swipe. We're going to every building. I don't know if you've been to the training facilities there. Have you? No, no, no, no, no. That weight room. I can't even describe what this thing looks like. It looks like you can eat off the floor in there. and one of the stadium they got a Ricky Williams trophy I mean a statue the other end they got an Earl Campbell statue come on they have a Ricky Williams wing in there they have an Earl Campbell wing like he got his own room that shit's wild man and then you go to the film room it's an IPEC movie theater I said Ricky what the fuck man you took a pay cut going through the interview he said I really did shit right Yeah, no, it is.

34:22Good God, yeah. Go see it. Go check out the facility. I'm going to make you take me. They ain't going to let an LSU Tiger in there, bro. Yeah, that is true. Don't say you're from LSU over there. That would go over too big. My stripes show. Yeah, that wouldn't go over too big. That would go bad. It would go badly, bro. Well, Matthew McConaughey removed me from the facility. Yeah, he's a diehard, bro. Oh, he's a diehard. Diehard. I know. Diehard. But yeah, no, it is. But check it out. It is. I mean, it is. So you know they have the largest collegiate budget out of any school in the United States.

34:54Do they really? Yeah. Makes sense. So you go there, there's a statue of this little guy in the middle of the stadium. Speaking of the fact, he's the biggest donor in college football. Got his own statue outside the stadium. Come on, man. I don't know what his name is, but he had his own statue up there. That's how much money he donates to the school. That's hysterical. But you know, Dale, Dale Computers, University of Texas. He's a big donor up there. That's wild, man. Yeah, so yeah, yes. That's wild. That's a great program, man. That's a great program. You can't lie on that. What do you think?

35:23I want to ask you that. What do you think about NIL? Oh, God. I think in theory, it's great. I think it needs to be regulated because it's creating such a - It went too big, too quick. Way too big, too quick, man. Without doing all the fine print. Yeah, because now you have free agency in college football, right? I mean, look what happened. I mean, even to, you know, the LSU commit. Oh, yeah, the quarterback. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I mean, like we had them and then they, I mean, we did lose. We did lose to A &M. Don't lose A &M. You don't have a problem or whoever we lost to. We have stupid losses.

35:57Right. And then and then Michigan comes. And I think that was a Oracle guy that gave all that. Bryce Underwood. That's yeah. But Oracle, you know, big corporations. So big corporations can't win, man. It's crazy to me how Baton Rouge, how LSU doesn't have something like that. It's LSU, you know? It's a good program, but they don't have the boosters. No. Like Ohio State, Michigan, Texas. Now you will see this coming up because, you know what I mean? Yeah, man. Because of the boosters. Yeah. I just think they need to regulate it. I think it's good. I think they're starting to implement some things.

36:36The problem is too far gone. It's whacked out. It's too far gone. It's whacked out. So we do this thing at a dealership. We do like a Heisman Trophy, the top athlete, broader kind of day color. So we talked to these kids. The receiver from Ohio State we gave an award to last year. Okay. Smith, Jeremiah Smith. Yep, yep. And so you talk to these kids and say, you know what? You play sports, love high school, love college. Pros is your business. It's not fun. It's a business. Now, you're in high school, you're getting NIL. You're kind of getting NIL. it's not fun anymore. It's all business. It's all business.

37:16So now you got to get agents. You got to get financial advisors. You got to get lawyers. You got to worry about your family, about your friends. But here's my question to you. This is a good question, okay? Because the thing that I loved about college sports is that there's so much hunger level, man. Like you're hungry. Hungry. You're starving. You're pissed. You're not hungry anymore. So how does that work, man? It takes that out of it to me. It takes that out of it. And the biggest problem is you forget you're hungry. but it's only 1 % of y 'all going to make to the league. Yep. So when you think you're comfortable making this cup of meal over here, you might not be good enough to make it to the NFL.

37:51You better save that money or have a good financial advisor because that might be the most money you'll ever make in your life. Might, could be. Or if you're that good and you still have, if you have an injury. Yeah. I mean, injuries happen, man. There's no guarantee. There's no guarantee. Look what happened to E.K. Johnson, bro. I mean, look at a basketball player that's a commentator now and went to Connecticut. He wrecked on a motorcycle, you know what I mean? Yeah. There's no guarantee. None. You know what I mean? So now you're making all this NIO money. You didn't go to class. You didn't do this.

38:18But what if you're going to make the league? It's so real, man. Well, let's wrap this up, man, because we could go on a road and stop. I could talk to you for fucking four hours straight and not give a shit. You just need water. You know, so what do you have coming up, man? I know you have Supercar Saturdays. Are those kicking up as the summer winds down? Right now we're doing what it's called a summer series. We do different rallies and drive through the summer because it's too hot to be out on the show. We're back at Supercross Saturday, September 13th. We're back at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino.

38:49Love it. In my NFL world, we have an NFL PA convention coming up the end of this month. August, we do another rally like this, but to a friend of mine, it's Man Cave. We got our NFL. So what happened with the NFL PA, we had to do so many different events per the NFL. pensions medical we got to give our advice so we have that event coming up but as far as the call we do a big event called Exotics at the Colony which is in November but you got to come out for that which is a huge event I'm there so that's what we have coming up I know we got to go you got to go to Rocco's Tacos Rocco's Tacos man but thank you man this has been fun thank you bro much appreciated new friend bro Come on.

39:36New friend. That's what's up. New friend. Always talk to people. You don't know who you're going to meet. Never know. You never know. You never know. Like there's a lot more things that we can do together that I have no idea that we could do together. And we are. Locking eyes and shaking hands. And we are. Get in the damn room with people. And we are. And I appreciate you, dude. So for the audience, share this episode with somebody that loves cars, that wants to hear more about how they can be involved with even coming to the Rev Center here in Naples. Yeah. Supercar Saturday at the Hard Rock Cafe at Seminole.
