In short
This episode of Daily Brightness is a Q&A with Millie and Rachel, mixing playful “would you rather” questions (sandcastle vs igloo; angel vs star on a tree; short sleeves vs long sleeves; Christmas decoration type; perfume scents; how to apply perfume) with football-themed lifestyle talk. They discuss “football icks” like short sleeves with gloves, plus dog personalities if dogs switched lives, and advice that “you’re never too old to start anything” (including Millie being 20 and asking about horse riding). They also share a “perfect BWSL Sunday” routine: football first, sofa/tea/hot chocolate, dogs nearby, and winding down after matches.

1:58Rach:welcome to daily brightness the q a episode the one we love the most let's get straight into it millie's had a late night last night at her game so she's a bit tired so we'll warm into her energy first question would you rather live in a sandcastle or an igloo igloo i knew you'd say i would say sandcastle because i like being in heat but then i hate i don't like sand but also I used to love watching ping you. Yeah.
2:27Rach:So I think I'd like to live in an igloo. Let's just move into an igloo together. You can keep me warm. Yeah, that's perfect. And yeah, I don't understand these people that roll around in sand on holiday. What are you doing? No, I hate it. Yeah, when you get out of the sea. Stop, stop, stop. You get sand on your feet. Yeah. Oh no. People just lay there and they're like, let the kids bury him. I'm never ever doing that. Sorry. I'm not doing it. I'm going to be that parent. I'd rather you bury me in the sea than underneath his hand. Right, what we got next? Oh, good question. Do you put an angel or a star on top of your tree?
2:59Rach:Usually I would say a star, but this year I've got like a little bow on top because I've only got a little thin tree this year. Oh, that's cute. So usually it would be a star. I know we have an angel, but I changed my colour theme this year and then I changed it to a star because it went with like the earthy vibe that I was going for. But then the star doesn't fit on top of the tree because it sticks too long. So don't actually have anything at the minute, which is a bit sad. Maybe you could. I need DIY daily. Why don't you cut the top of the tray? Yeah, I did think that but then I'm scared if I cut it and ruin it.
3:31Rach:You won't. Take a trip down. Help me out, bestie. DIY daily on tour. I actually don't have any days this rest of this year where I think I'm even... I can think about anything. Anyway, do you prefer playing with short sleeves or long sleeves? I know you're... Short sleeves. Long sleeves. I swear maybe opposites attract, Vesty. We are. I told you, you get cold, I'll keep you on. I'm like a human radiator. I'm always hot, always. Everyone literally was yesterday when we was away in Germany. Yeah, it's a little bit chilly, but me and the girls went for a little walk. It was like a little Christmas market outside, so the night before the game, we just went for a little stroll.
4:09Rach:And I literally had T-shirt and shorts, and everyone was looking at me like, what the hell is she doing? I had like shorts, T-shirt, and a cup of tea. But I hate being hot. I don't like being hot. And I was roasting. and my body was like overheating. So I'd have like my Canada goose on. Bugs. That's literally what everyone had out there. It was like scarves, hats, gloves, big puffer coats. And I was like, is there something wrong with me? Do I need like checking out? But no, short sleeves all day long. Do you know I've got a football ick though? Short sleeves and gloves. No. I don't really like that either.
4:43Rach:But I think that some people have Raynards, don't they? What? Raynards you know that thing in your hand where you can't get circulation in your hands yeah alright that's fair enough that's an exception if you could just let me know that in advance then I don't have to judge you can just walk around with a sign on your head saying I've got Raynards I'm really bright but yeah that's a football it short sleeves and gloves no thanks my preference is long sleeves so I feel like you suit long sleeve though thanks bestie yeah you do suit it I feel like I'm getting I get in my zone when I'm in long sleeve yeah this year that we've got them so I was like keep doing it when we got them Keep doing it Right What we got next Oh If you had to be a Christmas decoration What would it be?
5:26Rach:Do you know what I'd be? You know them Santas That go into the tree With the legs hanging out Of the tree Because they've actually got no head It's just legs And they move on the tree I think I'd be that I'd be them little I think they're called little gnomes You know where they've got really You can stretch them out They've got really long legs And then they've just got a beard And a woolly hat That's pretty much what I am now I'm gone Yeah that's it That's what they're called. I was thinking of the word. I'd be one of them. I'd be a massive one of those in someone's living room. Oh, I think I'd like to be a nutcracker.
5:55Rach:Nice. You know, they're men. Yeah. There's some good ones of those, to be fair. This next question, really, you can answer this. Oh, grow up, Will, your story. Grow up, you two. Is it time? Is it time? Maybe we should save it for the new year. Right, listen, we're not avoiding it. I promise you. I promise you. We're going to do this on a proper episode Because I feel like it needs a little bit of time And effort put into it So yeah we're going to come back to you on that one Grow up No never I'll give you another question then What's one scent you would have for the rest of your life? Jo Malone Same which one?
6:35Rach:Jo Malone, Mirror and Tonka Or Rituals Got it in the living room Freaking heck what's it called? Mine would be Jo Malone, Cypress and Grapevine Oh, that's nice. I love Jo Malone. Because I feel like you can get... I'm not really like a fruity... I don't really like fruity perfumes. I like deep, strong smells. I like Oud. I like Oud. Yeah. But I do like Rituals Diffusers, I must admit. They are banging. Tell you what else I like. You know the Lenore? Yeah. What you... like Fabric Softener, the gold one. I think it's called Gold Orchid. Yeah, and you get the little gold balls with it as well. Yeah.
7:15Rach:That's another one. I do like my scents, actually. I do like my scents. Yeah, you buy perfume every single time we go to an airport. Yeah, I know, I do. But then I run out very quickly, Besty. You know me. I don't just go, shh, shh. No, maybe spray the entire bottle. That's a question for you. How do you put your perfume on? And anyone listening out there, DB fans, how do you put your perfume on? Oh, you have to shave. Yeah, let's fire that one back at them. How do you do yours? Oh, okay, we'll go after. We'll go after. Right, what we got? Rachel, when is the DIY Daily Insta page coming? I need some ideas and tips.
7:53Rach:Maybe that could be something I start in a new year. I think you should be, honestly. If it is, I don't know what else I'll do because I've literally renovated my entire house. I've just added handles onto my kitchen cupboards, look. Yeah, they're really nice. Bestie, you're just going to come home and change it. That's what Sarah says. You just come home and go, oh, we'll just move this again. So it doesn't matter. You've done it a million times. You'll continue to do it. Maybe I'll start doing that in the new year then. And you've got your extension coming up, which would be nice for everyone to see.
8:19Rach:Yeah, I could do a lot of before and afters. Yeah, good question. I've just been doing the bathroom. Done it all. Bessie, it looks so good. We need to see. From what you last saw two weeks ago when you were here, what you saw to now, you won't believe it. Well, I'll be seeing it very, very soon. I cannot wait to see you. Oh, Bessie, I can't wait. Right. So exciting. If you could choose to play another sport, what would it be? Is it like Do you reckon we should answer it Like if you could choose To play another sport And be sick at it Yeah let's do that one Rather than What we think we'd be good at Mine would either be Golf or paddle Probably golf Imagine being so good at golf Golf is massive You literally smash a ball That big To get it in a hole That big From miles away Yeah but don't you think It's a bit like football Like when you think about it We're just kicking a bag of air around But we love it Yeah but I feel like He gets such an It's so much more easier to get a good aim on a football than it is a golf ball.
9:16Rach:Hi, baby. Just little Azusi come to say hi. Oh. He gets extra attention this week because it's his final week. Oh, Azusi. I know. Hello, baby. Yeah, I don't actually know what I'd go for. I don't know. I'd like to be a fighter, I guess. I actually think I'd be sick of that. Yeah, you would. Yeah. Yeah, but you'd like golf as well, though, I feel like. I would like golf. That's my thing. I'm still doing golf, but 2026 is a year where I dedicate some real time to it because it's been so hectic lately. I've not even had a chance to get down to the driving range and just practice. So 2026, more time for golf.
9:57Rach:Yeah, me too. And we need to start doing DB golfing episodes. That's what we need to be doing. Do you like my Buffalo Bills hoodie? Yeah. Bills, Bills, Bills. Screw you, Rachel. Right, that's the first half of our Q &A episode complete. They were great questions. Stay tuned for some even better ones. This episode is brought to you by Barclays. That's right, because this year they're celebrating 25 years of supporting football. And let me tell you, they truly have made a difference. I mean, to start, you can't talk about Barclays without mentioning the Premier League, can you? Especially when they've helped make it the giant it is today.
10:36Rach:Don't forget, they ended up being the biggest ever commercial investors in UK women's sport when they start sponsoring the Barclays Women's Super League. But it's not all about the big leagues because there's no football without grassroots football. So let's talk about how important the support of grassroots football is. How does it help young stars develop? Oh, I think having the right facilities, I think having the right investment. I don't think you should have to wait to be a professional or at a certain age to experience proper facilities, safe environments. Not only is it just football, it creates a community.
11:09Rach:It creates a safe space for kids to play football and want to start. You know, everyone starts at a certain level and without grassroots football, there'd be no chance of even going pro. It's why Barclays has invested millions into grassroots programmes and community initiatives to give opportunities in football to those who need it most. Search Barclays football to find out more. This segment is powered by British Gas, the official energy partner of the Barclays Women's Super League. Peak save from British gas gives you five hours of half price electricity, 11am to 4pm every Sunday. So the kettle, the telly, the lot.
11:42Rach:Tick along while you watch. So what would make the perfect BWSL Sunday at home if you weren't playing? Who's playing in your dream 12 o 'clock kickoff? I would say Aston Villa. I've definitely got to be supporting my bestie. And I would return the favour and say Chelsea to support my bestie. Where you watch it, sofa, bed or out and about? Depends if I've got a weekend off. If I'm at home, on the sofa. Yeah, kind of depends on the schedule, but got to be cosy. Blankets out, hot chocolate, dogs at my side, bestie on TV. What's one small thing you always do while watching? Probably shouting at the TV.
12:17Rach:I would probably have a cup of tea in my hand. Oh, Yorkshire tea, of course. Watching solo versus with company, which wins? I quite like watching football on my own when it's something that I really care about. So if it's watching you, sometimes I'd like to be on my own so I cannot actually focus, but probably company wins. I would say it depends on what company. I don't want a million questions or tactical questions or what's happening, is the ref right there, was it the right decision? So yeah, I think if I'm trying to focus and gain something from the game solo, but I always love having my family around, so I like a little bit of company as long as they stay quiet.
12:53Rach:Lying or up early? What's your ideal Sunday start? Get up and get out. On a Sunday, if I had no match, I would like to lie in bed a little bit, but it just depends on when the dog's kept me up. How do you start the day? Kettle on, curtains open, straight out on a dog walk? Literally, that is my morning. To a T. Literally. Yeah, I'd say the same. Blinds up, straight downstairs, dogs on the garden, kettles on, and then we're off on a walk. Your perfect Sunday breakfast at home, who cooks and how much prep goes into it? Well, I cook myself and kind of depends what mood I'm in. Or if I've got a Sunday off, to be honest, I might text a few friends and we might go out for a little breakfast, which I quite like doing.
13:35Rach:I love going out for food. I would have some form of eggs on sourdough toast. Nice. The jobs you save for a Sunday, big wash, changing sheets, proper tidy up, DIY. You know that I'm doing some DIY. Yeah, I actually did spend this Sunday putting a little wooden chest together. So it's kind of like little bits and bobs around the house. but I'm going to try and use my Sundays for relaxing moving forward. What are you time for that peak, say, five-hour window? Washing machine, dishwasher, oven on? Ooh, washing machine. Yeah, I'd have it all, but I'd put my car on charge for sure. One house admin activity that makes you feel like you've got your whole life together?
14:13Rach:Cleaning. Correct answer. Order. Everything in order. Clean, nice, lovely. How do you like to wind down from the weekend? Ooh, I do like a little bit of headspace. I need, I think, after games, like win or lose or draw, I need an hour to myself just to wind down, see the dogs. If it's late, I normally come in and just lay on the sofa for about an hour with the dogs and just lay in silence and then check in on my people, get some good food, and that's it, really. Yeah, mine, always a bath. Always, always, always a bath. Bath on, candle on, chill. So that's our perfect BWSL Sunday. Football first, everything else happening at its own pace and on your own terms.
14:52Rach:And if Peak Save is running in the background, five hours of half price electricity every Sunday from 11am to 4pm, even better. British Gas, powering the Barclays Women's Super League and powering your Sunday. Search British Gas Peak Save to find out more. Peak Save is subject to terms and eligibility. 17:46Rach:Welcome back, everybody. Second part of the Q &A. Questions so far have been topped, but there is some really good ones coming up. Best it. I'm going to kick us back off. Right, this is a little riddle for you. When does a puddle become a pond and when does a pond become a lake. That's a bit too much of my brain of four hours sleep. You figure that one out. Well, I feel like it's got to be a giant puddle. Puddles aren't really that big. Actually, they are in Tamworth. Actually, and they are when you think about when it rains a lot and on the roads and it covers the whole street from curb to curb and it's...
18:19Rach:I suppose it is a bit pond-like, isn't it? I don't know. I can't think about that. We don't know dimensions but I'd say anything that's... becomes bigger than the width of the road becomes a pond, no? Maybe, yeah. My brain hurts thinking about that. That's a really, really good question. We'll come back to you with some dimensions. Yeah, I need to go and ask my dad that one, actually. I'm going to go and get some advice on that answer. Good question, though. Right, would you rather be the largest but the slowest land mammal or the smallest but the fastest fish? Largest mammal. Me too. King of the land.
19:01Rach:Move aside. Even if you're slow, no one's coming near you because they're just scared. No one's coming for you. It's like elephants are the most respected animal. Did you know that? I love elephants. I think I've just made that up, but actually, I don't think I have. Elephants are the most respected by me. No, I don't think I actually have, but when you're watching stuff or you watch like documentary animals, they are like the most respected. I mean, I wouldn't want to piss off an elephant. They're proper family animals as well. They never leave anyone behind. All I do is Swipe your trunk and you're dead.
19:32Rach:Or squash you with them big feet. And also, I don't think I'd want to be... Why would you want to be a fish? You just... All right, the smallest fish in the sea, you're constantly just running for your life. I know. Well, swimming, you're not running. Swimming for your life. One big shark comes and you're gone, mate. Swallowed up. Good question, though. Oh, the questions are well good. Yeah, they are, actually. Oh, I like these ones. If you and your dog switch lives, what type of owner would your dog be? Right, I think Louis would be like, come on then, let's go for a walk. Everybody up at six o 'clock, have your breakfast.
20:05Rach:Jolly, jolly. Yeah, like a live alert, awake and enthusiastic. Dexter would be like, I'm not taking you for a walk. Get out of garden. Get out of garden, I'm staying in, it's too cold. Oh, what would I ask? Elsa would be on the go constantly. like similar to Louis like let's go let's go let's go Hera would be sassy like it's on my terms we'll go when I want to go and Zeus would be it'd just be chilling it'd be like if you want to go out garden you can if you don't we won't it's cool if you want to have a lion have a lion don't worry about it laid back Zeus it would be super chilled bless him right if you could only see three colours for the rest of your life what would you choose?
20:55Rach:yellow black white and lilac nice yellow and green favorite colors and yellow brightens up your day it's a happy color and blue because i like blue eyes why where do people get these questions from they're really like these are so good these might be the best ones so far on the pod so congratulations to everyone that asked on this episode because these are top yeah i like I guess we can This is more than just this question It's for me But I'm going to ask it Because I think you can relate to it in anything It says Millie Is 20 years old too late to start horse riding? But I think the question is Is 20 years of age too late to start anything?
21:36Rach:I think we'll make it that sort of question I would say No Good answer bestie Like you have your whole life ahead of you Like I don't think anyone's too old to do anything Exactly And I feel like even like you look at like ruby wax and i'm a celebrity 70 odd years old going into a jungle with not with no luxuries or nothing like that is and and i bet a lot of people you shouldn't do it have you got a visitor yeah scratching at my door you have to paint it i know i agree that's that's the message i was getting at it's it's you're never too old to start anything like honestly life is too short it's your life you can live it in the exact way you want to live it so yeah don't let age put anyone off like starting something new a new career new hobby trying something out like you don't have to have a reason to do anything like it's your life so live it how you damn want to i agree massively and i think it's what how like how you set your mind to it as well in it like if you tell yourself oh it's too late in life to start that it's gonna be and then you're Just going to live with regret.
22:46Rach:Look at me and Rachel. We're starting golf. Well, we started golf. We're in our 30s. It's not too late to do nothing. If you were to only have one piece of furniture in your house, what would it be? My sofa. Same. Sofa. You can sleep on it. You can chill on it. Doesn't matter. I agree. How nice is my sofa? Yeah, it's lush. It's really, really comfy as well. So comfy. It's lush. Right, guys. is that is it for this episode q a top top questions like i said i think these are my favorite questions rachel not sure about you i think so as well that's it for this one we'll be back very soon keep sending them in love to you all peace bye
