0:31Sophy Ridge:so um we're basically taking over neil's feed today yeah we are should we go for it let's do it
0:40Wilf Frost:okay so uh you are listening to cheat sheet with me sophie ridge and me wilfred frost as we
0:46Sophy Ridge:mentioned we're taking over the dailies podcast feed today thank you so much neil uh to tell you a little bit about our new podcast coming on monday yeah it is coming on monday it's called
0:57Wilf Frost:cheat sheet. And the idea is, right, that it's going to be literally a cheat sheet.
1:01Sophy Ridge:We're up ridiculously early and we're doing the work so you don't have to. I think that was your line, Stolman.
1:07Wilf Frost:Yeah, that's okay. That's more than allowed. Yeah. So it's a 10 minute podcast where we are rattling through the stories of the day that people need to know about. We're picking them along with our team and it's fast paced. It's informative. We can have a little bit of fun, but really it's going to be functional, right? Because we know how busy everyone is.
1:23Sophy Ridge:Yeah. The idea being that if you're short on time that particular day, you've got to get into work you've got to drop the kids off at school but you want to be up to speed this is your ticket 10 minutes only in your feeds by 6 a.m i can't believe we've agreed to that
1:38Wilf Frost:as wilf says to be completely fair we are getting up like super early anyway aren't we for the tv show and the team is working on the stories as well and so we're going to be reading through the papers we're going to be up to date on all the information and then we're going to kind of be curating it and bringing it into this 10 minute podcast we've done some research on this and we've
1:56Sophy Ridge:well, consulted with our friends, people that listen to a lot of podcasts. I don't think there are many options out there, right, of something that is cross-story. We'll have a bit of politics, a bit of business, lots of pop culture, maybe occasional bit of sport with a little bit of a bar store, Sheffield Wednesday and Arsenal, forgive us for that. But it will be a cross-spectrum of all of the stories that are basically topping the headlines. A couple of minutes on each, so the key facts, a bit of analysis from us and hopefully a bit of fun too.
2:23Wilf Frost:We're thinking that we might actually get a massive egg timer as well, a 10-minute egg timer and basically put it on the desk in front of us.
2:28Sophy Ridge:We need a 10-minute one because the one thing that could go wrong about this podcast is if we bore on for too long.
2:33Wilf Frost:We're not going to bore on. We're going to give you the news you need so you don't have to do any doom scrolling. We're going to do the work for you. It's going to be 10 minutes with the things you need to know to set you up for the day.
2:41Sophy Ridge:Please do join us from next Monday. It'll be in your feeds at 6am. Cheat Sheet with Ridge and Frost.
2:49Wilf Frost:So you can follow us on Spotify, on Apple, on YouTube, wherever you get your podcasts. but I think our main message is this is not going to be another podcast. It's going to be a podcast that people actually need.
3:00Sophy Ridge:Listen to us wherever you get your podcasts.
3:02Wilf Frost:You might also notice that we are in a brand new studio, which is actually pretty exciting.
3:07Sophy Ridge:Apparently we're the first people to use it as well. I love it. I'm very spoiled.
3:10Wilf Frost:Yeah, we do honestly feel quite spoiled. It's a great studio and so you can also watch us on YouTube doing the podcast, looking down at our notes and yeah, giving the stories.
3:19Sophy Ridge:This is meant to be warm, approachable, relaxed. I've even taken off my jacket for the podcast. You know, very different vibes, conversational. And hopefully that's the type of thing you want if you are up early and listening.
3:32Wilf Frost:Yeah. So it could even be what year or a kind of pub quiz secret weapon. How are you at pub quizzes?
3:36Sophy Ridge:On niche topics, occasionally I come up with the answer people need. But usually I kind of just sit silently and drink my pints.
3:43Wilf Frost:Arsenal and US markets, right?
3:45Sophy Ridge:Arsenal, Arsene Wenger years and US stock markets.
3:47Wilf Frost:There you go.
3:48Sophy Ridge:I can do other stories too. So still come to Cheat Sheet. We'll have it covered for you. you can subscribe or listen to us wherever you get your podcasts listen to cheat sheet on spotify listen to us on apple watch us on youtube and also i should say as well that if you want to
