In short

Hannah Strickland, a Florida teen known for viral clips, talks with her mom Dawn and sister Grace on family life, humor, food, and her rare genetic condition cystinosis. They also discuss the Strickland Hope Foundation they launched to support families affected by chronic illnesses, including transplant-related costs, medical gaps, counseling, and lost income.

Guest backgrounds

Hannah Strickland is a viral-clip personality (homeschooling with “Miss Sarah the Evil Queen”) and has cystinosis. Dawn Strickland is Hannah’s mother and a co-founder/driver of the foundation. Grace Strickland is Hannah’s sister, who joins the conversation.

Key claims

Hannah says cystinosis doesn’t feel different day-to-day (“eat, sleep, eat, drink”), but the condition affects major organs and can stunt growth. Dawn says her son Joel has had two kidney transplants (and later mentions multiple transplants), and that diagnosis took about two years and included a seven-month period treated as the wrong condition. Dawn claims they’ve had to ask for money before and want to prevent other families from facing that stress.

Notable examples

“Yes Day” birthday tradition; fears about Grimace; “Seven Nights of Pasta” restaurant idea; cystinosis basics (cysteine transport problem, organ accumulation); foundation goals (financial help, equipment, therapy, training for work-from-home).

Today's guest is a young lady from the state of Florida, and she's known for her viral clips online.

0:47She stopped by today with her mom, Dawn, and her sister, Grace, to have a chat and some snacks at the end. And I had a blast with today's guest, Miss Hannah Strickland.

1:16You can move this if you need to. I'm pretty loud, so. Yeah. She has my new microphone. Yeah. Do people say you're loud a lot Or do you feel No I just am loud I just know I'm loud because I am loud Have you always been that way you think Even since you were just a child Um I don't know Do you remember a time when you weren't very loud I was probably always loud

1:44I respect that I think I'm just feeling I feel a little bit anxious today I guess Do you ever feel like that Hannah No Not? You don't? I'm just worried. I think I'm just not ready for Easter and I know Easter's coming. It's Easter. I know, but sometimes it just feels like a lot with the parties and the egg hunt. You don't have to have a party. I guess I don't have to have a party, but I don't want to be the guy that doesn't have one or whatever. Yeah. Have you always thrown a birthday party? Yeah. Would you ever not throw one, you think? Mm-hmm. What about last year? You had a yes day. Oh, yeah, I had a yes day.

2:26What is a yes day? Where dad or mom says yes to everything. What? Yeah. For the whole day? Mm-hmm. No. What was the first thing you asked for? We went on Amazon, and I got accessories for my Barbie doll. Facts. And I got, like, a big, like, American Girl doll thing. and it's like, it comes with accessories and like a lot. So you got everything you needed? Yeah, pretty much. And did you get like a special type of meal or anything? Like what else were you allowed? Like what were you allowed to ask for? Anything that even came into your head? Yeah, pretty much. What? What if you wanted like a pet or something like that?

3:06Well, my dad, he doesn't want another pet in the house. Okay. And have there been issues with the current pets? No. Nothing at all? No. Hmm. He just doesn't want another one. Do you think he's being a bit much? Yes. Okay. What's the pet you would go for? A cat. Just a cat? Yep. You can get a cat in the woods. We have a cat. Well, I want like a fatter cat. Fatter than the one we have? Yeah. Yeah. How fat is the cat you have? Just show me with your hands. Probably this big. And how fat do you want? Like the size of the chair. Oh, wow. Yeah. You want a real big feline, huh? Yeah. And why? Do you just want to brush its hair?

3:52What do you even want to do with it? It's a cat. You play with it. Are you allowed to play with your cat outside or only inside? Well, the cat doesn't really like the outside, and I'd probably fall in the pool. Oh, that's dangerous. Now, take a gander at some of these fat cats that we pulled up here. Yeah, that's the cat that I want. Oh, so you're thinking something big like that, huh? Yeah. That thing's thick. Like a Garfield? Yeah. She loves Garfield. You do? Mm-hmm. Now, if you had to choose one of these kind of fat ones or whatever, or some of them are overweight, or some of them I think have glandular issues, but if you had to choose one of these larger cats.

4:29The polka dot one with the white and the black. Yes, please. That mixed one right there. That Ben Simmons right there, that's what I would get. That one's nice, huh? Yeah. You could even play Twister on that if you dyed the colors of it. Yeah, maybe. Okay. Very fair. I'm sitting here with Hannah Strickland And her mother Dawn Strickland And who picked out your Who picked out your name? My dad And did you have a say in her name or not Dawn? Absolutely It was going to be an awful name I would have changed it if it was an awful name And I totally understand that I want to say I agree with you Hannah What were you going to choose Dawn?

5:11It was actually going to be Hannah Beth Yeah and I hate that But we I would have named a table lot A table? Yeah But what happened Dawn? So what happened was Hannah Beth didn't strike us when she was born And so we had a very close family member Whose wife was Genevieve And that's her middle name That's a way better name So she loves her middle name Yeah Because Genevieve it's almost like Does it feel like an alter ego sometimes Hannah? No it's just French Oh Totally then that makes total sense. If you could, say you go back in time to when you were a child. Yeah. Could you pick a different name for yourself?

5:55Violet. Violet? Mm-hmm. Why? I just like that name. Yeah, I like it too. I like Violet. What would you pick, Dawn? What do you think your mother looks like if you had to give mom a different name? Oh. Because Dawn is very pretty. Dawn means like the beginning of the day, I think, or the end of the day. It's like the dawn of the rest of the earth. Like the world is going to like blow up. Okay, that's a bit. Yes, that's one way to, yes, that is sometimes how it's looked. That is a very more Dorian kind of view of it. But yeah, what do you think her name would be if you had to give, you get to rename mom, right?

6:34Water bottle. Water bottle? Mm-hmm. Why? It's just funny. I like that. Oh, this is my mother, water bottle. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's pretty funny, actually. I wonder what I would name my mom. Probably. Jeffrey Epstein. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, maybe. I mean, she had four children. But I don't think that. But yeah, maybe so. I think that's hilarious. So I'm so grateful you ladies are here today. Do you all live together? Well, yeah. Yeah. We decided to. and Hannah is there a point where you're looking to actually get your own place or have you thought about that at all or is that not something you're I want to mention you do yeah okay and my sister said that she lived in India and she had a golden toilet and golden steak and a lot I actually don't recall that she lived in India well she says that but I don't believe her but should you believe your sister that's not a common is that even I don't know She said she had like Golden horses And golden stallions And like Oh my gosh Maybe she met somebody online Or something Yeah she She probably looked it up Asked chat Yeah And just created that in her head Yeah Yeah What do you do to relax?

8:01What do you do to unwind? Take a bath Okay And are you somebody That stays in the bathtub For a long time? Yes Oh you're in there So is my sister She never closed the curtain because she's scared of the Grimace. That's not Care Grace. That's you. Of Grimace from McDonald's? Yes. Really? How did that? Bring up Grimace. Does he look? Yeah, he looks like something. He's very dark and purple. Yeah. So you're saying when you see Grimace, you see not a positive thing. You see a negative thing. There's a purple one. I didn't even know there was a green one, but whatever. Well, that's the St. Patrick's one that's supposed to be his cousin or whatever.

8:45That's nice. And then Grace also made up another grimace where it's black and it's like dark black. And if you go on the road, then he's going to kidnap you and eat you. Oh, that's blemish, I think. Yeah. Really in doom. Doom death. And what did you say? Doom death. Doom death. It's where we are. No, look, I'm glad you're here from the future to tell us how it all ends. That's Grimace for you. Do you think Grimace wants good things for the world, or do you think he kind of has his own plans? Probably to take over the world, blow the planet, buy some bombs, more bombs. Yeah. But what about the fries?

9:26What about the kids' play area? You don't think he cares about all that? You don't think Grimace cares about the McDonald's kids' play area? You know he's from McDonald's? well yeah I don't think he would make it at McDonald's he would probably add poison in the burgers true you know he actually got fired from McDonald's I think wow so not impressive I'm not impressed anymore yeah it's evil there's an evil breakfast well he's changed a lot I know he went through some dark times and I know I think some of his family members passed away oh wow that's fun It's a tough moment for people Wow that's really funny I mean it's pretty crazy I don't know if it's funny though Maybe it's I mean I guess I guess if there's like a way to like try to laugh About the pain of it Is that probably what you mean Hannah?

10:22No just funny Because the Grimace doesn't exist There's like a person under it Some people say that Bring it up does Grimace exist Let's look it up Yes, Grimace is a real character. Told you. He's fictional. Mm-hmm. He was introduced in 1971. So he's getting older. Yeah. That means he is 55 years old. He looks good for his age. I will say that. Yeah. Will you say that? Yeah. Yeah, not really. Purple don't crack, huh? Hannah, what would you say? You're here today, and thank you for coming. Yeah. To town. Have you been to Nashville before? Uh, no. And were you excited about coming to Nashville? Yes, I like the hotel.

11:11You do? Mm-hmm. Good. Is that something you enjoy is getting that first moment in the hotel? Yeah. That's fun, huh? What do you like the best about it? What's kind of just the energy of it? I like the showers. Yes. Because the shower's big. Oh, that's fun in there. Yeah. Yeah, if you can have a good shower, that's pretty good. My friend one time rescued a pelican and there was a storm. There was like a big storm and he rescued a freaking pelican and we had to keep it in our shower for three days. That sounds fun. It was pretty fun. And we had to get fish and stuff and go in there and feed them and stuff.

11:47But it was scary while you were washing your hair with the shampoo because it would be scary if the suds got in your eyes and you were scared he was going to attack you or whatever. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, you just try your best. Yeah. I'll just go swim in the pond with alligators. You would? Mm-hmm. You do that type of behavior? Mm-hmm. You swim with alligators? Mm-hmm. Where? In our pond. What? In our pond. Dawn, is this true? Yes. To my knowledge, this is not true. It is true. This would be stamped false. Mom, it is true. Oh. I can't see behind the shades. Because I knew you. Well, if there's a pelican in the...

12:27I would just put the pelican and the pond in. Goodbye. And let the alligators get him? Hannah. My brothers would probably laugh, too, but it's funny. Hannah Genevieve. Ruthless. What have we done? How'd you become so tough-willed like that, where you're just willing to face it all, you know? Well, just throw it in the pond like goodbye. That's true. It's one good way to get rid of a pet, I think. Just throw it in lava. Put more lava, put on the pond, say goodbye. Meat for the alligators. Yeah, I guess that's the Florida way, I mean. That's very much the Florida way. They're building a lot of detention centers down there.

13:09They're doing a lot of crazy stuff to get rid of folks. So I wouldn't be surprised. Do you know a lot about animals or not? Not really. You feed them, you play with them, they sleep, they get fat, then. That's fair. Yeah. Is there an animal you would like to get that you think you're not allowed to have? A hamster. My dad does not want a hamster. What? Yeah. You don't want one of those little floor bears? It's a hamster. Some people call them floor bears. Look at them. They're cute. I know they're cute. Do you know I used to sell hamsters at my first job? Well, you better give me one. I kind of want one of those.

13:48I heard you can't even have one, though. Well, my dad would be surprised. I would actually get one. You think we could sneak, maybe you could sneak one in? Yeah. Yeah. Because I could go on the airplane. For sure. Put it in your pocket. I'd like that. I could just buy a cage from Amazon or something. That's easy. But dad might notice a cage comes in the mail. He's going to be like, what goes in here? I did not think of that. I hear you just probably throw it in the pocket. Think that through. You got to think that through. No, I would buy a cage, put the hamster in the cage, And then I'll take it with me on the airplane.

14:23Okay. And then he can't do really anything about it once it comes home. That's fair. Yeah. Who runs the household at your house? Is it mom, dad? Me. You? Dawn, is this true or not? Yes. In some regard, it probably is true. She's the fourth typical. Yeah, I know. That's embarrassing to admit. Well, I pretty much cleaned the whole house. That one over there doesn't do anything. She doesn't clean anything. Yeah, Jonah. Sorry, Jonah, but he doesn't do anything either. What? Jonah's not even here to defend himself. Yeah, that's bad. But do you think it's true that he doesn't do anything? Yes. If you went to court, what would the judge decide?

15:06That he does do things or he does not do anything? Do not do anything. Oh, my God. Guilty. Guilty. And what should his sentence be? How many years in prison, you think? One. That's fair. teach them some lessons, teach them how to do some stuff. What are the chores that you wish some of your family members would do more of to really help you out? I'm the one who cooks. Dawn. I do in fact cook. No, you do not. I cook the food. Hannah, you cook the food. What are you cooking? Pasta. Every night? So you have seven nights of pasta? Yep, every night. So if you had a restaurant, it would be called Seven Nights of Pasta?

15:51Mm-hmm. And what would you serve? Pasta. Every kind of pasta. Hmm. Pasta salad. Pasta. Shrimp pasta? What? Yeah. That's a kind of pasta? You don't have it? Well, not shrimp. Maybe like, I don't know, some kind of pasta. What's another kind of pasta if you had to pick? Pasta salad. uh cheese pasta macaroni and cheese I love every pasta except shrimp name one more pasta I don't know I can't think of anything more you like pasta with the red sauce yes and I like salt Italian pasta uh well I like like pasta where there's like salt on it and I put like this much salt are you allowed to have that much yeah it's just salt yeah you're right that's a good call Take me into your family.

16:48So how many children do you have, Dawn? Four. Thank you, Dawn. And were you excited about all of the kids? Was there ever a kid where you got it and you're like, ah, this one, you know, hit or miss? No. I never thought that we would have four kids. That was kind of a surprise. Where do you meet your husband? Niceville. That's where – so I grew up in the Panhandle. and I had gone away to college and I came back oh you moved yes oh no wonder I kept on saying you're from Alabama I told you I wasn't from Alabama well I did not trust that I told you well now I do I was not born in Alabama I did never even live in Alabama well now grandma probably do that's correct I love the dirt roads same I just want to roll around in it I do too no you don't no I want to walk on it though um so we we met at uh community college community college is good a lot of people go i mean it's good yeah and and we went and you guys met there we did and y 'all fell in love we did fast so we met yeah and grace is a high school dropout she dropped out of school she didn't drop out she's yes she did mom was she doing drugs No It's on line hand Well that's good then So she's making a lot of good choices Why did she quit school?

18:19She didn't feel like she's a lazy bum I wouldn't That's not my choice of words It is mine It's my words She's ruthless Is she always ruthless like this? Yes So you and your husband's name is Travis You and Travis Get together y 'all get married first we we met and and we were engaged two months later two months later whoa and then that's fast love it was super fast and i mean it sounds crazy now but at the time it didn't feel crazy and then we were fast loved on yeah and it's okay yeah i guess it is because here we are like 26 years later yeah you made the greatest choice i think i think so like we didn't have all the junk in our head at that point you know what i mean like just world just um i really So for my birthday, can you get me like some calico critters?

19:14Yeah. Maybe we could chat about it later. Yeah. Closer to your birthday. Yeah. It's coming up though. I'm going to be 10. You are? Mm-hmm. Yeah. In April? May. May. Okay. It's exciting. May 20... Wait, what? Yep. You know it. May 28th. May 2016. Okay. Yeah. And so when do you meet your first child? Or when do you have your first child? Oh, I was like... Sadly, it was Jonah. So my first one. What's funny is they're best friends. I don't know why she's doing this because they're literally best friends. So he is 23. So he was born in 2002. Oh, my. Oh, wow, y 'all. Oh, wow. Y 'all. The interwebs. Y 'all literally looks like a cowboy hat.

20:00So is this y 'all's family? Yeah. That is a very old photo. That was me and Mommy Sands. Where? And Grace in that pink dress. Maybe something within the decade. Grace, what's with the hair? Within the decade. I look pretty good. Let's see. Zoom in on that baby, huh? Oh, yes. Just not on the baby's mother. Oh, it's a beautiful family there. And who is the guy on the left? He's doing great He's 21 now Why did you put me in that dress? I apologize No, that is a good question. Let's stop for a second and look at this kid's dress. Because first of all, you look like a little Easter present. Yeah. Yeah. And you wore an Easter present. Because isn't your birthday right around Easter? Technically Memorial Day. Yeah. I didn't even know Memorial Day even existed. Hey, it's not Easter. And then my brother Jonah. Yeah, so take us into the next child.

21:33So you get one child and you guys are digging it. and you're like, let's get another child. So Jonah is like the one at the top. I love that you guys play this. And how's he doing today? Be honest with us. He's fun. He plays video games, never wants to bathe the dog, never wants to brush the dog, never wants to mow the lawn. It's a lot. Yeah, he never does anything. He's also working on being an engineer, so he's pretty bright. And he sadly doesn't want to move. He doesn't really want to move out. He doesn't want to move out? I'm trying to steal one of their rooms. I see. So you have a plan in all of this.

22:17You want to get rid of one of these people, huh? Well, I want to get rid of Joel, apparently. Because he has the biggest room. He's a turd bucket. And yeah. And we've already determined that Joel is dealing with some bucket issues or whatever. first. Have you never heard that word butt munch? You know, obviously Joel is doing his thing, but here's my question. Do you have your own room, Hannah? No, I have to live with mom and my dad, the one that snores, and I can barely even sleep. And why don't you have your own room? We can buy a bigger house, and it's a black house. It's brown. Brown, black, poopy brown.

23:03I'm a little... She does hate the color of the house in her event. She hates it. It's horrible. And so you get to the third... Who's the third child? Grace. Yeah, Grace. Grace. Okay. Actually, no, it was me. Yeah, it was me. It was Gracie. It was me. Okay, well, let's just get to that. Let's get to the magic. When was Hannah born? 2016. 2016. Okay. And Hannah, you have kind of like a thing. It's called stenosis? Yeah. And what is it? Because I've heard of it, but I haven't really heard a lot. I don't know a lot about it. Well, Mom, how about you tell me? Do you want me to tell that part? Okay.

23:48So technically, it's a lysosomal storage disorder. And how do we say it? Cystenosis. Cystenosis. Yep. You did very good. We've talked to doctors before, and they mispronounce it. So you did better than they did. But essentially, cysteine, which is an amino acid, doesn't get transported through the cells correctly. And so they accumulate on all of the major organs. So a lot of times people think, oh, it's just a kidney disease or it's just this. It affects all of the major organs. So like my son has had two kidney transplants. Who, Joel or Jonah? Joel. Okay. Yeah. He's had two kidney transplants.

24:28In his teenage years. He's remarkable. And now he's working hard to be an EMT. He's always been a little but much. Yeah. Give him some credit. The guy's on his seventh kidney. My sister had a liver transplant when we were little. Oh, wow. And so I know what it's like to be like around that. The sibling, yeah. Yeah, and just like what it's like. And it's kind of scary sometimes as a sibling because you don't exactly know what's going on. Even though you get some information, it can be kind of. But you still can only process so much at that age. Yeah. You're a kid and it can be kind of alarming.

25:02And sometimes I felt like we couldn't play with my sister because she would have like a lot of scars and stuff. And so that was kind of, that was different. So, but it was interesting. But yeah, she had a liver transplant and she's doing great. That's awesome. How does cystinosis kind of affect you like on a daily basis? Do you even feel it when you get up in the morning, Hannah? No. You don't even know about it? No. I drink water, then I go eat. Eat, sleep, eat, drink. Be fabulous. Yeah. Happy 4th of July. And so, what is it? How do you see that it affects your mom anyways? You know, life for us is, I love the fact that she doesn't notice a lot.

25:49It means that maybe, you know, maybe as a family we might be doing something right. Well, am I posting on something? No. No. Because I take a shower, eat, sleep, watch TV, play, drink. Yeah. And then I go back to sleep. Oh, do you? Yeah. She finished it up with some sleep, huh? Mm-hmm. Do you dream at night or no? No. Hannah, don't lie. I'm not. Trust me. You talk in your sleep, Hannah. Oh. Yeah. Who are you talking to? I don't know. I mean, she just doesn't stop talking. It's just like anybody. I always just talk all the time. Well, that's good. I'm glad you talk. People like hearing you talk.

26:31It's entertaining and it's fun. It is. What are some things about cystinosis that people don't know, just in general? Gosh, I don't think they know a lot. It's very rare. You're talking less than... They're like, how old are you? I'm like nine. And then they're like, I thought you were four or one or two or three. And I'm like, I don't look that short. Yeah, they thought you were one. Well, probably not one, but like at least three or four or five. The lady the other day in Ulta, she thought you were what? I think three. Did she say four? Yeah. That's bonkers. I don't even look for. No. Like I feel that I'm tall, but I guess I'm not.

27:12Okay. Newsflash. We might not be. Hey, story of my life. We all want to be that tall bad girl, you know? Or I mean, we all want to be like that. That one is like a giant. Yeah, well, I'll tell you this. she had a lot of time to grow when she wasn't at school. Yeah. You know? She's been focusing on growth. And her friend Bella, she's like almost the size of me. She's like one foot taller. That's nothing. You could catch up in like two good nights' sleeps. One foot. You could grow easily that much. I don't think so. This show is sponsored by Liquid IV. You know, I remember being at spring break out there and somebody had, well one of our friends had been urinating on the floor, right?

27:58But he got so sunburned and everything and he'd just done so much urine, he was just damn dehydrated. And God, if I can go back in time, I would have doused that fella up with some liquid IV. Is there any unique things that Hannah does because of cystinosis that it's a part of her life? Is there any like unique things that people have to kind of do? Like my sister has to take like sort of like organ rejection medication. Yeah. So that like because she got a transplant. I know she didn't get one, but I'm just saying sometimes when you have certain things that are part of your life, you have certain things you have to do.

29:30And that, I mean, obviously. Yeah. Well, I literally do the same thing every day. Eat, sleep, drink, like TV play. Yeah. Yeah. And guess what the last one is? A shower. Nope. One more. Sleep. Yeah. Welcome back. That's true for her too. So she does she has a G-tube. I'm doing an impersonation. Guess who it is, Hannah? That's definitely my dad. Let's go. This is going to work well. Yeah. So. Because it's like. Wait, mom. What does she does when he's sleeping? Who? Dad. I mean, he definitely snores. Yeah. Yeah. And then he like wakes up, go back to sleep. Yep. That's what happens when you get older.

30:12You don't ever sleep through the night. Well, I always do. I never snore. And I don't, like, I never snore. That one does. That one sleeps with her mouth gaped open. Gosh, what kind of world are you living in? I have no idea. Those people are crazy. Tell me about it. I can barely even believe that you're able to survive over there, Hannah, around these people. Yeah, I need to move. I'm like, I need my own room. And my sister stole the color of my room. What? She stole my bed from my old room. I had like the perfect, in the old house, in our own house, I had my own room and my own playroom. That you never used.

30:56I did use that. You never let me sleep in there. Why not? I literally wanted to sleep in there. Were there mice in there? No. There were a lot of mice in our house when I was a kid. I've always wanted a rat or a mouse. I've always wanted a mouse. Yeah, she's obsessed with ratatouille. so she would that'd be cool to her they're so cute yeah well they're cute I'll tell you this Ratatouille first of all the movie it's about 20 minutes too long I will say that oh she would disagree yeah vehemently disagree actually well I like the part where they cook yeah stretch the whole thing oh yeah I like it I mean I like it but I'm just at a certain point I'm like hurry it up we get it there's like a little bit extra on there for me that's just a little bit too much.

31:44I like Coolette. Yes. Let's bring up the characters. So Coolette is the girl with the purple hair. There she is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I like Ratatouille. I'll ask you this. I'm going to ask Dawn something real quick. Is it okay if I ask Dawn something? Yes. Thank you. Yeah, are there any special things that someone has to do that's a part of their life? before that before there might ever be a transplant there's still just a lot of medications so she has a g-tube to make things easier eye drops meds they're harsh they they're they hurt her stomach they you know and obviously since it affects your kidneys first it obviously it stunts your growth you can take growth hormone lately we've kind of yeah i'm never doing that I haven't started that yet.

32:39We did that with my son, but. But that's a choice you have to make, I guess, as a parent for a child. That's kind of interesting. It's hard because you always worry, you know. All right, next subject. What's something you admire about each one of your children, Dawn? How about that? Let's get the truth here. I'm the favorite.

33:00She tells everybody that, too. Because I am the favorite. Is it the truth, though? Yes. What, why? Because I'm just a better child. That one doesn't clean. Yep. None of our kids clean here. Joel never cleans the dishwasher, never does anything. I'm like, huh. Yeah. Golly, Moses. And what are the chores you like to do the most then? Yeah. Let's do that. Wash dishes, vacuum, clean the counters, and that's pretty much all I do. Okay. I make my bed and stuff. Okay. Yeah. I respect that. And I cook, too. Do you? Yep. What's one of your favorite things to cook? Chicken noodle soup, biscuits, pasta. How about our pizzas that you make?

33:53Oh, yeah. Pizza, cheesy bread. I like cheesy bread. They had cheesy bread, yeah. Yeah, I make my own. We got a new fire. What are those? Like the pizza oven? The pizza oven? Those are good. Yeah. Those are really good. You should invest in that. Just for the record, we don't even order pizza anymore. It's amazing. Yeah, it's really good. Dude, when people order pizza, I'm like, what are you doing? You could make this in your yard in a minute. Yeah. Absolutely. Are you out of your mind? I even will, if my neighbors order pizza, if I see a pizza, I'll go out and blow like a big horn at their house.

34:23And I say, what are you doing? They're ordering pizza. Well, maybe they don't have an oven or something. Yeah, but just get a pan and even put just like a lighter or a candle under it. you can do that so easily now. Yeah. I see like you kind of like, it feels like you're growing up kind of fast. Do you ever feel like that, mom? Do you feel like she's growing up? She's going older. Not me, Hannah. That wasn't directed at me. Yeah, about me. Mom's doing great. Yeah. But Hannah's growing up so fast. Do you feel sometimes, Hannah, like you're just growing up too fast? No. You think you're growing up at the right speed?

34:58Yep. What do you see like another line of work? Like what's a real line of work that you want to get into one day? Like when you're driving down the road and you see a guy working in construction or you see a woman like fetching water from a well or milking an animal or something. Oh, that one wants to have a farm. I don't know why. Well, she has a baking channel, so she likes to bake. Yeah. So she could probably use ingredients. Yeah. Do you like ingredients? Like stuff to put in a cake? Yes. Uh, yeah. Yeah, you have to have those for like baking. Yeah, I like those. I like ingredients. I've always liked them.

35:36Yeah. But what's that line of work you see yourself getting into when you're driving? A chef. A chef. Mm-hmm. Okay. And your restaurant, obviously we know it's called Seven Days of Pasta. Will there ever be a day where you'll have one other item that will be different? Nope. Well, that's odd. Pickle pasta. Pickle pasta? Pickle pasta. Hmm. I like pickles, but not on pasta. But if someone wants something sour, then they can have that. We'll do it. I like that. Do you have bread? Do you have any appetizers even? Yeah. What are some of the appetizers you're going to have? Maybe some shrimp and bread and oil.

36:18I like that. Yeah, my favorite food is pasta. I like ravioli. I love ravioli. I also love Olive Garden. You do? Yeah. What's your favorite thing about it? The Alfredo and the breadsticks. Yeah. Breadsticks are good. Yeah. God, sometimes I just want to put one in my mouth and have somebody come up and just hit it right down my face with a hammer. My dream is to put my mouth under the frozen yogurt machine and just eat it. Yes, girl. Okay. But here's what I've heard. My friend's done that, and your face gets so cold because that thing's very cold. Yeah. You think you could handle it? Yeah. I love cold.

36:58Just wear earmuffs.

37:02I saw a video of this one thing I learned about you I saw a video of you It was at a Christmas shop And that was like a busy video that you guys had What happened there? Take me behind the scenes with some of this video Let me see it really quick again What age was this when you were working? Hannah, I know this is one of your early films Sorry I'm wasting a lot of your money But I'm going to have to get a do not cracker And an ornament I love it here Mom, this is the best tree I ever saw in my store. Ooh. I love this store. What is this? Macy's. That's Macy's? Mm-hmm. I love Macy's. I love places, Michael's, where you can get crafts.

37:43Oh, I love Michael's. We actually got a deal with Michael's. You do? Yeah. I love that. What are you going to make over there? We pretty much got, like, every deal in the world. Dang. We haven't got Apple. You haven't got Apple? No, we do. You got Apple? Mm-hmm. You got an Apple? No, we got like a computer, like a pink computer. And then we also got like AirPods. Ooh. Pretty much everything else for me in that box. Well, I mean, it was supposed to be. No. No. As it should have been. No. What are some ways, obviously mom is having trouble parenting when it comes to you. Is that safe to say, you think?

38:24She doesn't have any trouble. She does a good job. Maybe Hannah if you were a parent What things would you do differently Well if they would scream Then I would just put them up in the bathroom And I would lock the door Let me say Every parent It's not legal Kind of like a dog People do it People do it a lot Do you think you would teach What's something A thing you would try to instill in your kids I would just put them in the bedroom at like a ginormous wall in the bedroom. And then like lock the doors. And then, yeah, they can never get out. They can never get out until they stop screaming. Okay.

39:10So that's only if they scream? Cry, do anything. Well, what would be the things that you would do if they were good or to like help them be a good person? Yeah. What would you do? They can just move out, really. Yeah, look, if they want that kind of life, They can hit the road and figure it out. Yeah, exactly. We're keeping it 100 over here. Hannah, you know, people are wondering. I think a lot of people are like, what is she going to do next? Is she going to start a cartoon? Oh, definitely not a cartoon. I hate cartoons. Okay. That's out. So people quit wondering that. Yeah. Is she going to come out with her own cookware?

39:52Is she going to come out with? Yeah. Like maybe a special spatula. Well, I want my own cook show. Okay. Like, you know those cook shows where they have to get the ingredients, hurry up and cook. Kind of like those, like I want to cook with Bobby Filet and their competition. Do you think Bobby Filet is a good chef? Yeah. You do? Yeah. Bring up Bobby Filet. His daughter's really, she's a newscaster. Anyway, I'm lonesome I don't know why I said that, let's keep going Bobby Filet, huh? And who else is on your chef list? Oh, the, uh Nick? Yeah, Nick Giovanni What is it about him and some of his recipes, or what is it?

40:38Um, he cooks really good pasta I watch him all the time You do? Mm-hmm What's the thing about the big parmesan wheel? So it's like a big parmesan wheel He, like, carves the inside and then he like grabs so like some of the yeah like there let's see it can we see this in action I'm just it's really good I've always wanted to try that well I'm curious about it that's all parmesan yeah the whole wheel

41:12what is on the outside cheese of course that's the rind yeah so Right? Mm-hmm. Have you ever asked for, like, what's something? I've always wanted that big wheel cheese. She wants the whole wheel, yeah. Yeah, because, like, I've always wanted to make that recipe. And how much cheese do you need for that? Like, the whole wheel. Yeah. I mean, look at this guy right here. Is he carving a pumpkin? What is this? It's cheese. So he's trying to, like, open it. And, yeah. Honestly, Hannah, what's the most amount of cheese you think someone should be able to have? Um, that much right there. Do you think there should be a limit on how much cheese someone can have?

41:55They can have as much as they like. Because that's like really good cheese and it makes like really good like alfredo pasta. Like you just have to add like milk and then that cheese and then melt it. Like cook it, of course. And then you put the pasta and the pot and the butter and the alfredo sauce. And then once you got your pasta in the thing, in the cheese, then you dumped the alfredo sauce in the cheese. Like in the big wheel of cheese. And then you got like, he carved it in the inside and then you put the pasta in. Okay. We're going to need you to step out of the vehicle now. That's all I'm saying is.

42:47Yeah, look. Let me see one more time. It's like a honeycomb of cheese. Yeah, he's putting the pasta in there. In the cheese? Yes. Oh, that's so good. God, that looks so good. I've always wanted that. Yeah, I just want some of that. God, it's almost like the cheese is just taking a bath or something in there. Would you take a bath in cheese? Yes. Yeah, like, hey mom, what do you mean? I would eat it Yeah, eat, rest your head on it Yeah That'd be good, if you had a whole bed made out of cheese Yes What kind of cheese are we talking? That cheese Parmesan Okay Parmigiana Reggiana, is that what that is?

43:32I'm pretty sure, I don't know Yeah, I think so Okay, I respect that Do you have a favorite holiday kind of? Christmas It is? And what about it? But I hate the Grinch Why? He's weird and I don't like him He's green And he steals things from the kids Yeah Which is not cool Yeah Have you ever stolen anything? No Well I was stolen things from my sister and my brother But But they deserved it Yeah Where do you hide everything that you steal? I tell you Yeah Good girl Look and that's how they try to trap you They try to get the answers out of you. You have to be careful. Yeah. You know? Because one time I stole my sister's little mini unicorns, and I've been trying to get those for years, and I actually got them.

44:24Well, I've always got them. And then I put them in my fridge, but she finally found them. Now I'm going to try to steal them again. Yeah, she has a play kitchen that everybody knows. If they're missing something, they go straight to her play kitchen because she hides everything in the same spot. But if they keep on looking there, then I'll move them, and I'll put them somewhere different. I get it. Well, I have a new hiding spot. You don't move anything. I get it. I will now. Have you ever considered burying something in the yard? Well, then I'll literally never find it again. Do you think you forget?

44:54Yeah, I forget all the time. You do? I forget what I'm going to say. You've been traveling a lot, right? Have you? What's a place you've been that you really did not enjoy very much?

45:11and you can be honest with us I literally don't even know I like every place I've been to you do? yeah but I didn't like the place where we went to New York where like there's like people like sleeping on the road and stuff and on the sidewalk people camping out and stuff yeah it was kind of weird yeah I'm just like get a job I'm like who are you yeah it's like there's certain Except for you. There's certain ways to look at it. And I think you have to figure all that out. You have to factor that in. What's something you and Hannah love to do together? We like to play Uno. Oh, I like Uno. We like to cook.

45:52I mean, obviously, I'm not a great cook. Sometimes we, Mom, what do we eat together? Everything, maybe. Well, we pretty much eat, yeah, we eat everything. Yeah. Well, you eat everything. Well, you eat everything. Yeah, thanks. Moms have to taste everything before their kids can make sure it's safe. Right, it's like a quality issue. It's important. Making sure they're not, like, poisoning, you know? It's pretty important. Yeah, because you want to eat it. There's no poison in the food that you make. You never know. What's the worst food you've ever had, you think? I knew you were going to say it.

46:31Mexican food and Indian food. Yeah. What was it about them? well I don't like I just don't like I actually do like the tacos and I like the guacamole and stuff but I don't like anything else the tacos and the what is it? tacos and guacamole but my dad says he's gonna eat a banana and an alicado in the morning why? I don't know he's like honey did you get the banana and alicado? he was going on a diet right? yeah and his dad does dad like to diet? What does dad like to do for fun? He likes to fix his car but instead of fixing the car he likes to break the car instead. Instead of fixing it. Yeah.

47:20That's dad. What's a regular day at school like, Hannah? Are you still going to school? Yeah. I think if I'm in high school, I drop out like Grace. Is that true, Grace? Yes. She literally dropped out of school It's okay Hey Grace A lot of my family is not even They're not all the way done yet That's why we say it Do you have some close friends at school? What's it like over there? Well I actually do homeschooling You do? Yeah And who's your teacher? Her name is Miss Sarah the Evil Queen She calls her teacher the Evil Queen Yes It's true Because she is evil She's forcing me to do homework. But that's her job.

48:05She's a teacher. So she's getting paid to do this? You're right. Huh. Why do we pay people to do pure evil? Yeah. I agree. Great question. Huh? It's a great question. Well, I just want to talk. Um, Dawn, you stay super busy. No. I knew that was coming too. She sits down all the time. She does nothing. She has to be doing something. She's not. Dawn tell us the truth She always cleans up my toys She cleans them up? Yeah she cleans my toys No only my toys though Mommy the evil queen Well what are some things That you're working on Behind the scenes right now What are some stuff that people don't know That's going on Because of all of this And I realized we had an opportunity To have a little bit of a platform And a little bit of a voice I always wanted to start our own foundation, something that would leave a legacy for the kids and that would help other families like ours.

49:09So that's what we've been working on. We just launched it yesterday. We're super excited about. Mom, are you going to give him the present? Congratulations. This is the Strickland Hope Foundation. Thank you. Yeah. So we're excited. You know, when we were going through, it took almost two years to find out with my son because they have the same condition. So it took almost two years. Oddly enough, the driver said, have y 'all been to Nashville before? And I was like, I couldn't think about it. I think I blocked it out. My son got his diagnosis at Vanderbilt. Wow. So we didn't know what was wrong with him, and we just kept going and going and going.

49:46So remember when I clogged up the shower in the hotel? Yeah, she flooded the whole bathroom today. Oh. Yeah, because I really wanted a bath, but they didn't have a bath. So I just, you know, made it into a bath. I think you have to do that sometimes. Hannah? So while we started the Trickle and Hope Foundation, so your son had this. Joel? Joel. With the red hair, yep. So Joel had cystinosis. He's a butt munch. He still does. And he's obviously a turd munch. What is he? Bucket head. Turd bucket. Yeah, turd bucket. Sorry. Anyway, back to him. And sorry, Joel. I know you're not here to defend yourself, but that's what happens when you send your siblings out and you don't go with them, bro.

50:33You face the wrath. But here's my question is, so you didn't even know. It was hard to get diagnosed? Absolutely. What did you think was going on? Well, we knew it was serious. He was treated for the wrong condition for seven months at a different children's hospital. So we had gaga doga die? Yeah, pretty much. That's what they literally, I mean, she laughs about it. But like they just kept saying it was a working diagnosis. So anyway, long story short, when we found out what it was, I mean, we went through a lot. And it's challenging. I mean, I suppose you would understand some of that, too. And I remember one of the first things when he faced his first transplant, one of the first things they said were, you know, like, how are you going to pay for this?

51:18Are you going to start a GoFundMe? And that was like the biggest slap in the face. Like, so now I've got to go beg for money to make sure that my kid can have a transplant. And we had excellent insurance. Listen, long story short, I just vowed that no other family, dealing with a chronic condition is enough. That's enough. And that's enough stress. And that's enough stress on a relationship, on the family dynamics, on the siblings. So that's my mission. I just, I want to be there to help in tangible ways, whether it be financial, whether they need medical equipment, whether they need therapy services, counseling.

51:55If the mother and father needs counseling to deal with this new diagnosis, they should be able to have that. If a family is functioning and functioning well and they are whole and they are taken care of, then they can be good caregivers. and that's the most important thing is making sure that each each member of the family is taken care of so yeah it's a lot I mean I remember I would go to like Ronald McDonald house and stay over there and um and um over the years I've gone there and just like done like just like like uh you can go there and I kind of volunteer to hang out and sometimes it looks like you to be over there but just seeing what families do right and what it's like to have a family be around something that um that happens that is like a surprise to your family, a medical surprise.

52:41And so the foundation will help support people that need these extracurriculars kind of? Yes, absolutely. We're still working out everything as far as what we will help out with. But I've been in this, we've lived with this for long enough. I know firsthand and I also know, you know, from having friends in our little community, often they need help with paying bills. Lots of times the spouse now needs to stay home and take care of the child so you lose that second income. What does that look like? I want to help provide. If you need to go to community college or wherever and get. I want to take my jacket, okay?

53:22Yeah, that's great. And get training or certificate so that you can work from home and now make money from home. Whatever it is, again. Well, how are you making money? Not me. Yeah, because we're not seeing any of it. Right? So just help them in any way possible. You know, lots of times there's programs for co-pays and things like that, but there are so many gaps. Do you need help, babe? You want to give it to Gracie? Grace. Don't throw it. Can you help out, please? Come on. We know you've taken off of school, but. I know.

54:04So we're still figuring out exactly how the Hope Foundation will help, but we know it's going to help families in ways that they're affected that they may not even see coming and ways that you guys have had experience with. Yes, because we have had. Listen, it's embarrassing. We've had to ask for money before. We've had to borrow money. It's embarrassing. It's degrading. It's stressful. And the thing about it is you're already concerned. You're a parent who's going through a lot, whether it's new or whether you've been walking this road for a few years. You know you're tired. You often go without sleep.

54:43You're sleep deprived. And you don't make good decisions when you're sleep deprived. So my mom said if I did good on this show, then I could also get like a 3DS. A 3DS is like an old game. It's like an old Nintendo Switch. that I've also really wanted for a long time. And my brother has one. Okay. And it's really cool. So I've always wanted one of those. And hopefully I get one of those. You're just making sure she remembers that. She's like, let me call you out in front of him. I think was that. I respect that. You should be an attorney, I think. Yeah. Okay, so just so we know. And it's called the...

55:24Striclanus. It's called... Striclanus. Striclanus. Striclanus. Striclanus. Striclanus. That's awesome. Shrekland Hope Foundation. And we're just getting it started. We'll keep us posted so we can help donate at some point. I hope you'll keep us posted. Can you give him a present? You guys get a present for me? Yes, I do. I will. I'll give him a present whenever he thinks it's appropriate. What is something that you really admire about each person in your family? So, that one. Something you love. Make it real. Yeah, something real that you love about each one. Okay, so Jonah actually plays with me.

56:07Okay, so you like that Jonah plays with you? That's pretty much all. Each one you have to do. All right, Joel, what's something you love about Joel? I guess he makes fun of me. Does he like to laugh? He likes to laugh at me. He's so funny. He is? He's extremely funny. So he makes you laugh? No. Oh. Yes. No. He makes you laugh. He never makes you laugh? No. Never? Never. Ever. Well, here's one of the questions I have, Anna, is that there's a lot of rumors, like a lot of like influencers and people in the media and personalities and stuff like, like someone like you are like kind of like are going to, they're sending them to outer space.

56:50They sent Katy Perry to outer space last one last year. Can you believe that? I don't. But for the sake of this question, for the sake of this question. She did not go there. You think she lied? Yes. Outer space lied. Yeah, outer space lied. You're right. But here's the question is, if they set you up nice, they give you a nice first class seat, you're headed to outer space, would you go to outer space? No. Why? I just don't want to. I want to stay at home. You could miss something important in outer space. So? I don't care about outer space. What are you going to do at home? Eat, sleep We've been over this Big fact, you're right Who's your best friend?

57:38Let's get that out of here, Hannah Who's your best friend? And where's she at today? I think she's at home Writing a book about me Well, me and my sister Very fair I heard you almost got in trouble for a crime Is that true at some point? About what? That's just what I heard, that there was a small crime or something you almost got in trouble for? What crime? Have you ever done a crime?

58:05Well, maybe I almost took a candy bar out of the store without paying, but... But hey, I mean... I almost sneaked out, but... But you didn't, right? But you didn't, huh? No, mom accidentally caught me. That's what I like. I like that. I like that honesty, too. Hannah is there anything that you want to talk about today that you feel like is important and that's been on your mind No I think about food You do Yeah All day Yeah Well take me just give me like a favorite what's like an appetizer that you absolutely love Oysters What? Have you had oysters? Yes and they're gross I like oyster soup but You like oyster soup?

58:50I've never even had that We'll claim chowder soup. Oh, yeah. That's what they call it. I like clam chowders. Okay. Well, then this is it then. Before we get to my birthday cake. Do-do-do-do-do-do. If you're on a desert island, you only get one meal. What is? Olive Garden. It would be Olive Garden. That's like a whole restaurant. It would be Olive Garden on a desert island? Yep. You think they're going to have an Olive Garden there? Well, I would eat if they did have it there. Yeah. I feel you. I honestly do feel you. I would eat if they had it there too. You know, in the past, in my life, I didn't do a good job probably investing financially.

59:34You know, part of it was I didn't know much about investing. And I didn't want to learn. I didn't want to ask questions. I wanted to keep every cent that I had. I didn't, I don't know. I didn't plan for the future. I didn't, I don't know. It wasn't a focus. You know, so many of us only focus on where our money is today. That's the truth. You're out and you're in the snow or whatever and there's a hurricane. I would have chocolate vanilla cake. That's fair. I'd get a snow cone. What if I'm freezing? If you're freezing, you'd have a snow cone? Well, I would have chocolate cake with a vanilla layer and milk.

1:01:31I like that. Yeah. If you could meet Dolly Parton, what's one thing that you would say to her? I have no idea, honestly. I really don't. What's your favorite song from Dolly that you love that always comes up when we watch the videos? Have you heard that song, I Will Always Love You, that one? No. Have you heard 9 to 5? Yeah. There's no way to learn a living. Yeah. How do you sing that song? How do you sing? I don't know. Working 9 to 5. Welcome to Thanksgiving. Have you heard that song? No. You haven't? Well, I have. Yeah. She hasn't heard it that way. What about Thanksgiving? You like it or not?

1:02:12I do. I love the food. That's her favorite holiday other than Christmas. It is? Yeah. What's your favorite bird to eat? Bird? Yeah, what's your favorite kind of bird to eat, man? Bird. Chicken? Turkey? Oh, I didn't know that was bird. What'd you think it was? A turkey? Yes. What'd you think it was? I didn't know it was a turkey. Pull up a turkey, man. They fly-ish. Let's see if it's a bird or not. I don't think it's a bird. Pull up a turkey. You don't think that's a bird? They can't fly. They're too fat. Yeah. That's kind of like my cat, but they're just too fat. They can't really fly. I don't think that's why they can't fly.

1:02:56Some of them have glandular issues. Okay, so let's chill. What about a chicken? You didn't think a chicken. What do you think a chicken was? Have you ever eaten chicken? Yeah. You didn't know it was a bird? I don't know what it really was a bird. You think chicken's good? Yeah, but I'm not going to eat them. You're not going to eat a chicken? Well, I want to. If it's not my chicken, then I will eat it. Because I don't care about someone else's chicken. Facts. What about this, though? What's another bird you would eat? Penguin?

1:03:28You could eat penguin? No. Oh. I don't think so. Yeah, I don't think you're going to eat penguin. But I'm just saying, if you could, I would never eat a penguin. Okay, what about owl? No. Have a little owl. No. Why? No. Name one more bird you would eat. I never have eaten a bird before. Except chicken. And turkey. Well, I've had turkey, but I never... What's another bird people are eating? What about sparrow? What's a sparrow? What about a bluebird? What's a bluebird? Do you eat peasants? Now that I said that, I feel like... Peasants? Those are cute! You wouldn't have a little bite of that? I would never eat one of those!

1:04:19They're blueberry flavored!

1:04:23Hannah! It's just one bite, I'm not asking you to have a lot. No, how's it gonna fly? I don't believe them! They'll figure it out, they're very powerful. If you eat this wing That's not gonna be able to fly It's damaged I've seen a lot of damaged things That are able to freaking take off What about this bad fella right here? Yeah I would eat anything ugly You would? Yes I would So you're punishing it for being ugly Yes Well Hannah how about this then If you had one thing to tell everybody out there That was kind of positive What do you think it would be? Positive? Yeah Everybody's going to die one day.

1:05:04That is, that's a crazy thing to say. But yeah, that's one way to look at it. Yeah. With that said, you want to have some birthday cake with me? Yeah, sure. Okay. So my favorite type of dessert is tiramisu. That's Grace's. Oh, yeah. It's the best. Yeah. But how about this? I know your sister has a baking channel. Yeah. Can she come in and help us? Yeah. Check out the desserts? Yeah. Awesome. Okay, so now we're joined here by your sister. Do you want to introduce her to us, Hannah? Okay, you're Grace? I'm Grace. Okay, Grace. And what's it been like having Hannah as a sister? And be honest with us.

1:05:46She's interesting. She's funny. She is funny. I didn't think I was going to have a little sister, actually. Oh, so she was a surprise? She was a surprise. What? I thought I was going to be the last kid. but I told my mom a lot. I was like, I really want a little sister. And we just had a sister. And you got Hannah. And how did you feel when it was Hannah? Were you? Well, when she was first born, I thought, oh, she's cute. She's a cute little baby. But as she grew up, her personality just immediately snapped in. Like when she was even a baby, she was sassy. She would laugh. Was she? Yeah. Yeah.

1:06:22I talked a little when I was little. I actually talked when I was a baby. You could talk? A little, yeah. Not a lot. Yeah. Like maybe like that much at least. But some. Yeah. Do you think she looks up to you sometimes or no? No. I just do my own things. Yeah. I think we're similar in a way. Yeah? I think so. She takes some stuff from me. Oh, I do not. I think so. I take my own makeup looks. Yeah. But does she steal some of your hairstyles and things like that? No. Grace. How'd you get that red streak in your hair, Hannah? Yeah. Because I like this. It looks great. Is that real Kool-Aid? It's not Kool-Aid.

1:07:10It's like a conditioner. It's like a hair dye. Oh, nice. It was supposed to come out. But it's not. So it's going to be this forever. Now your sister has a baking channel. Do you want to tell us a little bit about it, Hannah? Oh, Grace, how about you? Yeah. She never, you know, actually puts her face in the videos. She doesn't? I do. Oh, wow, you made this? Yeah. Yeah, that's actually one of my favorite cakes. It's recent. Oh, that's a Stranger Things cake? That's pretty dope. I'm scared of the show, though. So. Yeah, I don't watch that kind of stuff, usually. No. Because I like to get to bed early.

1:07:45Right. And my neighbors have a loud dog. And it's hard to sleep. Hannah, what do you think I should do about that? Um, I don't know. Oh, yeah, it's an alligator. Oh, that's one thing. Go to the BTS one. Oh, really? Oh, that's not a cake. Yeah, it's the BTS one. I got... You got tickets to BTS? So me and Grace are going to a BTS concert. What? The Korean rock band? Yeah. Oh, yeah. They're great. I'm real excited. I've never seen them. Where are they performing at? In Orlando? Yeah, actually, um... Um, Alabama, I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure we're going to the Tampa show. It's in April. Dude, I would like to meet those guys.

1:08:27Have y 'all ever met them? No. Huh. They probably don't know us. Yeah, they don't know us because they're Korean. They're like, oh, stop, stop, stop, stop. Yeah. So, but tell me a little bit more about your baking channel. Do you do it just for fun? Is it a hobby? Bring it back up. So, it's like, I started it because my dad, when he would go to work, he loved sweets and he loved coming home. And I remember his either mom or dad, they bought like a baking kit off of Amazon. and I was like and I just started baking this is in our old house and I just it just kind of started it then my mom I like it was good.

1:09:01She made it when I was um like 11 to just document everything One time I made a cake it was like a Nutella cake and I added like Nutella on it and I that was probably the first cake I ever made and And my brother actually thought it was pretty good. Did he? Yeah. So I didn't actually know how to make frosting. But I added Nutella for the frosting. And then the cake was actually chocolate vanilla. And then I also put, like, some strawberries and, like, maybe some blueberries on the top. And that was really good. Okay. That sounds very good. And take us through this cake really quick, Grace. Okay.

1:09:45So the sand was actually graham crackers. So I was making two cakes this day. It was actually really chaotic. So it was due the next day, but this is a SpongeBob one. Due for who? Like the cake lord or whatever? Like who the dark dessert wizard or something? Who forced you to make two cakes in one day? It was actually kind of crazy. It was for a teenager my age for two big cakes. I'm like, gosh. I don't think she actually meant to get like two cakes. Okay. Yeah. So this one was really fun to make, though. I made the toppers and stuff because not out of creativity, but out of – but I didn't have the toppers that I needed.

1:10:27Is this a SpongeBob cake? Yeah. Oh, that's great. What do you love about baking or is it just kind of a hobby? I don't know. It's just a fun thing to do. Like cake kind of does bring people together. Like it's always at a celebration, a wedding, a birthday. and to be a part of somebody's life like that is really fun. Oh, this is an Easter cake? Yeah. That whole thing's a cake? Yeah. Oh, that's pretty dope. Yeah. Do you think that Hannah is a good judge of good desserts, of cakes? Yeah, I do like cake. She says random things. Like she'll say something that doesn't match the description. Like mysterious and spicy.

1:11:08Grace. She'll say sweet and spicy for a cake. Let's be honest here. That's all on one hand. Is that all you want? Is for Grace to be honest here? Yes. Yeah. That's pretty honest. Okay, Hannah, how would you describe that cake? It was good. I did like it. I actually liked the basket. It actually turned out better than I'm imagining. Okay. Do you remember when I made that? I do not, actually. I don't think I was born at that time. Okay. I think, no I was actually. Was she born? Yeah. She was born. How long ago was it? I think it was two years ago. Two years ago. Okay, so. But I needed something to post.

1:11:49And how old are you now? Nine. I was six at that time. So yeah, let's just look at the truth. Oh, and what's your channel called, Grace? Graceful Purposeful Art. Oh, Graceful Purposeful Art. I'll subscribe for sure. Thank you. So it's my birthday. So what I wanted to do was I want to try out three different of my favorite dessert, which is. Tsurmaso. Yep. Correct. I want to try out three different ones and then we all decide which one is our favorite. That's a good idea. Yeah. And I thought, Hannah, you could let us know which one is the best. Okay. Okay. Yeah. And we could all put on shade for this if we wanted.

1:12:35Yeah, great idea. we wouldn't normally do this but i have to step into this episode because the the editing got just confusing we try to uh have hannah come in to um have birthday cake and pick out some desserts from our area that she would enjoy and uh if you want to see that happen uh you can check that out it's over on our clips channel and um that is there and we're grateful to Hannah and the Strickland family for coming in. And now, back to the end of the episode.

1:13:10Well, Hannah, is there anything else you want to share with us, do you think? I don't know. Grace. Yeah, Grace, what do you think? Anything? Yeah, what are you thinking? Overall? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. We're in Nashville. We're here. It's a very different experience. What do you think we should have? For dinner? Yes. That's a great question. I know there's like a good steak place. That sounds good. There's a place that has good barbecue. Wow. There's a place that has some kind of new age cuisine with like fish.

1:13:55And then there's like a good cheeseburger place. They have a place that has salmon There's a place that also serves She likes salmon Just throw her under the aquarium I don't like salmon A lot of people know and it's tough to imagine Yeah It's tough to imagine Who likes salmon anymore? Who's eating salmon these days with everything that's going on? You know? Yeah, I don't like salmon, that's disgusting I liked it when things were more chill Yeah like I like rice and salmon But like I don't like just salmon Oh if salmon stops by by itself Bro I'm out Yeah You know So I don't know what I would recommend There's some good restaurants though Yeah I really like I like I really love mashed potatoes Omelets This morning for breakfast I had an omelet a pancake so i got a pancake it's like uh mom what was it called um it was actually an oat cake it was an oat cake yeah but a pancake yeah and um was it good yes it was really good oh god i want that and i put like i put like a lot of fruit on the top and then i poured some maple syrup on it other than butter.

1:15:17Well, the butter is first. Yeah. Amen. Amen. Grace, you have a baking channel. People can check it out. Yep. And Hannah, people can check you out and also can learn about cystinosis. And what do you say to other, do you meet other kids that have cystinosis ever? Not really, honestly. You know a few. No. No. No. Actually, I can. Okay. So some people. Yeah. I only know like one person maybe. Yeah. And it's just not even a thing, is it? No. It's calm. Yeah. We keep it moving. Yep. Yep. Anything else you want to say to everybody before we leave, Hannah? I don't know. Yeah. That's a fair thing. Yeah.

1:16:07Sometimes we don't know what we want to say. Yeah. Do you always have something to say or sometimes you don't? Grace, how do you say something? Why do you always chuck it to me? Yeah, Grace, what's your problem? Yeah. Yeah. What? What's your problem? Sorry. Sorry. No, I actually can't hear. I can hear. You can't hear? Oh, my God, dude. Donald can't hear anymore. Donald can't hear. She can't even see good? Y 'all's family is barely making it. I mean, we don't clean. We don't cook. We really just don't do anything, I guess. Exactly. The exact one. And that's what she's been saying this whole time.

1:16:43Yes. Well, happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me. And thank you truly for making my birthday a nice time. I appreciate it. Well, are you going to give them the present? Oh, yeah. I have a freaking present. Let me get it. It's my freaking birthday. And, yeah, and everybody can check out the Strickland Hope Foundation, where the goal is to help tertiary costs for families that have a loved one that is in medical care. Let me see this item. Here we go. Let me see what it is. Hmm. Ooh, might be a fish.

1:17:30Ooh. Maybe it's a rectangle shirt. You're getting close. Ooh. Oh, it's a Bible. Is it? Hey. Yeah, it's got my name engraved on it. And it says Romans 8, 28. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God. Oh, thank you so much. I, um, who doesn't need to brush up on their Bibling? Okay, can someone please take this plate for me?
