In short

Eddie Hall recounts risking death to break the 500kg deadlift barrier, the mental pressure around world-record legitimacy, and later explains his “road rage/house” controversy, anger management, and diet/training philosophy.

Guests

The episode is primarily Eddie Hall speaking. A second person (interviewer/host) asks questions; no other named guest appears in the transcript. Eddie Hall is the sole detailed guest.

Guest background

Eddie Hall is a former World’s Strongest Man champion (won in 2017 per transcript) and a strongman/deadlift record holder. He describes weighing about 200kg at 6’2”, setting a 500kg deadlift in 2016, and retiring after health scares.

Key claims

He says his 500kg deadlift (after collapsing/unconscious) pushed the sport’s boundaries upward. He argues records only count when done under official competition rules. He claims a doctor warned him he was “off the charts” for heart attack/stroke risk due to blood/liver/kidney markers. He says his “carnivore” diet improved blood markers, sleep, clarity, and cardiovascular fitness.

Notable examples

Roger Bannister’s mile analogy; Ed Cohen as “pound-for-pound” strongest (420kg deadlift at ~70kg); the bank-holiday incident outside his home that tabloids framed as “roid rage,” plus an anecdote where a photo request coincided with his baby falling unconscious from a car seat.

0:00It's life on the line. It's either win the world's strongest man or life is not worth living.

0:04Eddie Hall:He's done it. He's got the down signal. World's strongest man. I am on the fucking brick. Didn't far off nearly kill you. It was just a massive immigration, taxes, schooling, digital ID bullshit. Don't hold it back. I'm not going to hold it back. He is a specky eyed fucking punk. You have anger. I've got that much pent up energy. If I'm not expelling it, I'll snap at anyone. Since that incident... Are you friends with Thor? Gotta be careful what I say here, but... How much was it? My contract was for 20 million, and I never got a f***ing penny. Ever had any health scares? Everything was working overtime to keep my body having a heart attack or a stroke.

0:40Who is the strongest person you've ever seen? Pound for pound, strongest man there's ever been. How much did it piss you off when Thor beat your deadlift world record? Like, be honest. Honestly, it really didn't. but weren't you bitching about it a bit online i mean i wasn't bitching about it i was just making a point of it wasn't done in a competition right you know it wasn't done under official rules and this is a big part i even said on his channel that that's why he came back and did it officially right so it's is is it i mean i obviously don't know the sport as well as you but for all of us who don't is it kind of quite illegitimate if it's not done under proper rules then yeah 100 It's like me, you know, getting these weights in my basement, pulling 502 kilo here and getting a referee to down call it.

1:29Like you don't know if those weights are fake. Or is this right weight? Or is this platform not bouncy? Or, you know, there's so many aspects that can call bullshit. And that's why we do them in competition. Because it just eliminates any question mark. And that's it. You know, in my honest opinion, he probably did pull 501 legit than me. Yeah. But that's the point of doing a competition. There is no buts. Yeah. You know, it's not, it's, he did it. Yeah. And that's why he's come back and done it in an official competition. Even he said on his own channel, I'm doing it to shut all the people up that say that one doesn't count.

2:06So even he himself admitted. He understood that. He understood. Yeah. And are you tempted to go back and do 511? Not at all. No? Not at all. And as I say, I've had my day. Yeah. And I drew my line in the sand back in 2016. You know, I set the 500 kilo deadlift in 2016. And that was my draw line in the sand. Like I beat the world record by 37 kilos in one day. 37, not one, 37. Wow. And for me, that was enough, you know? If anyone's naive enough to think I couldn't have pulled more, you're bullshitting yourself. You know, you know I could have pulled more. A year later at World's Strongest Man, 2017, I was a much stronger human being, much stronger.

2:53And I got loads of people out, let's push the boundaries more. Let's do 501, 502. And I was like, what's the f***ing point? No one's going to care if I come back and do 501, 502, 510. No one's going to give a f***. It was that boundary. It was that magical 500-kilo boundary that I wanted to break, and I broke it. And that's, honestly, I'm so happy and content to have done that. And I honestly believe the world record, if it wasn't for me, the world record would still be 470 kilo. Like the four-minute mile thing. Yeah. I honestly think if it wasn't for me, we'd still be pulling 475, 476, 477. It's because I came along, did 500, and now everyone's all of a sudden, all right, it's possible.

3:38I can do that. So I push those boundaries. So in some little way, and people think I'm a right smug come for saying this. In some little way, I am responsible for this world record getting pushed higher and higher and higher. And I commend for doing it. I've genuinely thought, well done. Like, I can say that. I don't know. No bullshit. Like, well done for. Well deserved. I know what it takes to pull that. I mean, it didn't far off nearly kill you, didn't it? Yeah. And that was because I just pushed the boundaries so much for my size. you know i'm six foot two at the time i was 100 186 kilo just just bang on 400 pounds at the time like i'm not designed to lift 500 kilo off the floor i'm not meant to be able to lift 500 kilo the floor i haven't got this height the levers the muscle mass i didn't have that it was the belief in here that made me pull that four on the other hand six foot ten you know he's a fucking natural giant yeah he should be doing that kind of weight he should be pushing the boundaries more and more and more he's got so much so much more of a bigger skeleton that he can hold so much more muscle mass than me you should be able to lift more than me so fair play you know it's it's it's it's the it's the hand of cards dealt to you by god that what you're capable of.

5:01And I was capable of 500, maybe a little bit more. Thor is capable of more. He's capable of more than 510, probably 530, probably more, maybe 540. I don't know. But he is genuinely that bigger human being. He should be lifting that kind of weight. Yeah. And did you ever have any doubt the whole lead-up process? Because obviously the world watched you. Did you ever have any doubt? Of course, nothing but doubt. Oh, really? Yeah, nothing but doubt. I mean, that's all I had. All I had was doubt. You know, you've got to remember the world record at the time was 463 kilos. And you can go back and look on all the internet forums.

5:43I remember seeing it on an internet forum. Are we going to see a 500 kilo deadlift in our lifetime? And every single comment said no. Every single one. And I'm talking thousands of comments. I went back and looked. Thousands. No, it's not going to happen. So in the lead up for that, everyone saying I was deluded, I was a dickhead, I was an idiot. So I had every single bit of negativity was against me for that deadlift. So all the doubt crept in. Yeah, of course. It was a tough lift more for that moment. And to be honest, when I released the deadlift bar and I collapsed, I did go unconscious. but afterwards it was more the the sheer relief of all that pressure you know all that disbelief all that negativity it was just a massive like that was that was a full year of pent-up aggression negativity hatred and it all just got released in that in that one one like split second so it was it was a very surreal sort of moment it was like every my whole life built up to that moment you You know, and a bit like Roger Bannister, Roger Bannister did the four minute mile, collapsed and nearly died.

6:57Go back and watch it. He literally nearly died. And now there's people running it like it's nothing. But it's that boundary, isn't it? If you've got that boundary to bust through, then you've got so much more mental pressure. And I think that makes it so much more harder, but also so much more relieving afterwards. Have you ever had any health scares? the only fuck what was it now so the only health scale I had really was five weeks before I won the world's strongest man as I went to a doctor and had a full blood works and everything was on the fucking brink like kidney markers were like off the charts, liver markers were off the charts, the biggest concern was my hemoglobin like the thickness and sludge of the blood the consistency to hear your blood and he just put me into a like he drew on i remember he tried drawing it on a piece of paper for me and be like right so you've got the fat bastard scale and you've got someone at like say if that's like a chart here right so you've got someone like 100 kilo you know a big human being you know that's going to be like getting on the top end of that scale is like you know heart attack risk stroke risk and then you've got someone like 22 24 stone like 130 140 kilo they're like way off the chart you know they're like that you're in danger zone here you know what i mean your hemoglobin's are thick your liver and kidneys are on the brink i was 200 kilo so when you put me when he wrote it down and put me into a chart you've got high risk super high risk and then i was like eddie hall risk i was up here like fucking off the charts and he said like that's like that's like heart attack and a stroke risk very high extremely high definitely gonna have a heart attack and a stroke and it was like wow and that's when it sort of hit me as like i am on the fucking brink wow everything was working overtime to keep my body from having a heart attack of a stroke right so that's why i won my title and retired just get that body weight down instantly just get those markers down and just get myself out of that danger zone territory did that scare you of course yeah yeah i mean when a doctor's looking at you and he's saying if i lined 80 million people up or 70 million people up at the time the whole population of the uk if you lined everybody up in a row like who's most likely to have a heart attack on the stroke he said you'd be at the top of that list i'm like yeah that's it just made sense when he laid it out like that put it in the chart and talked about the p you know you're the most likely and i remember there was like and we all get it you know you're sort of driving to the gym and you felt like a little palpitation in your chest you're like oh this is it you know you'd have these scares but for me those were real concerns yeah you know you get those little those little ache or something in the chest you're like oh this is it oh god no and then you recover but it's fine i'll carry on yeah but those were real concerns for me and i'll never forget that the last five weeks of training for the world's strongest man and i was like it was almost like a suicide mission it was almost like i just didn't fucking care because i wanted to win that title so badly it was either win the world's strongest man or life is not worth living for so i was honestly going to bed every night and And I sort of had the conversation in my head is like, if you don't wake up tomorrow, are you going to be sorry?

10:31And I'd be like, yeah, okay. You know, I have to win this title. I honestly thought I'd go to bed every night thinking I wasn't going to wake up the next day. That was my sleep routine. Of like talking to myself, of like trying to convince myself that nearly dying or possibly dying is going to be worth it in the long run. And it was. It was. I mean, it was. But it sounds like that's what it took. Yeah. No. No, it's hard. Yeah, it's life on the line shit. Wow. People say you take risks and put your body out there. That's taking the risk. For my height, weighing 200 kilo was fucking surreal. And what's the heaviest you've ever weighed exactly?

11:11Exactly 196 kilo is my heaviest. Right. So that's 32 stone just shy of. At six foot two? Yeah, six foot two. Not at six foot nine or ten? No. No, this is the thing. I was as heavy as Thor and Brian and whoever else. But six, seven inches shorter than them. Eight inches shorter than Thor. So can you set us straight on what really happened when you were caught threatening to rip someone's head off? I was wondering what you're going to ask me then. I mean, geez, man. I mean, look, you've seen my house. You know, it's a very recognisable house. It's the talk of the town. You know, everybody knows where Eddie Hall lives, which is fine.

11:58I mean, it's obvious at the gates, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. I can't fuck it. Unless I lived out in the countryside, which I just can't do to my family, just away from my family, all my families around here. There's no way around it. I'm going to get noticed. And the house is going to get noticed. The vehicles are going to get noticed. The tank. There's just no hiding where I live. There's no hiding it. so attention comes you know and attention comes when i'm out and about when i'm out with my kids you know i'll go to restaurants go to the supermarket it's just a constant i don't want to say a drag because it's not you know i i appreciate it but it's a constant like pull on my life it's a constant pull so i guess when i'm out about and i'm getting all that attention and i'm with my family you know i'm pushing my kids on the swing and somebody's asking me for a picture yeah you know i'm eating a meal with my family and someone's asking me for a picture so i guess when i have all that you want to come back to escape right so this is this is like my castle yeah this is the place i i get away from all that shit i get away from all that hassle all the pictures all the questions all the whatever i get away from it all it's all happened that's where the peace and and the chaos divides right so people coming to my house disrupts that that divide that that peace and chaos and when that divide is disrupted is when i lose my shit yeah i just i cannot can stand it when people think that they own me or own a part of me or deserve to take a bit of my private life and make it theirs that's where that's where it starts and begins and ends right in there yeah so they weren't the first ones to come to my house and ask for pictures and knock on and whatever else and they probably won't be the last but usually when people hang around or knock on you know they usually oh can i have a picture i'm like no look this is my place of peace this is my home and i can't do a picture with you So if I do one with you, you'll put it online, and then everybody knows you can go to my house and do a picture.

14:12So out of principle, I just cannot do a picture. Very sorry. See you on the street. Come meet me in Expo, whatever. And they always understand, and they always walk away. Like, sorry for disturbing you, and they bugger off. These motherfuckers. So they turn up outside my house at 9 o 'clock on a bank holiday Monday. Kids are being put in bed. youngest one of them's in bed one of them's being put to bed and they come back they're honking the horns as they're driving past they come back around and they sit right outside my driveway like blocking the driveway with the cars and then there's one the other side and there's one the other side of the road so it looks like a gang's turned up to my house now i just happened i'm not here very often if i'm being honest so i just happened to be in the garden with my son having a cigar, by a fire pit, just enjoying myself, just, you know, a bit of quality time with my son.

15:10And Alex rings me up. I said, there's someone at the gate, right? You need to go and tell them to fuck off now. And I had, I had no idea what had gone on. And she's, and then she tells me quicker what's happened. So Alex had asked him to go out. She went out. So can you move on, please? They said, no, basically. We just, you know, you can't tell us what to do. She left it five, 10 minutes, went back out again. I can't remember the, like, People start saying, you're making shit up here, but you can go back on the YouTube video I made and see exactly what happened. She went back out, asked him again, maybe a third time.

15:44And then she came to me and said, look, there's some people outside, they won't leave. They keep beeping the horns. And I could hear horns going, but that's quite common. You know, you get people driving past hogging horns. I'm just like, whatever, it doesn't bother me. But she came to me and told me, and I just, when she told me she'd asked him to leave three times over the space of 20 minutes. I just got in my head, like I'm not around with these people. Like it's nine o 'clock at night. My kids are in bed. It's my place of peace. They're going. Like, I don't want to hear what they've got to say.

16:15I don't want to hear they want a picture. I don't want to hear that the fans just cough. Right? So that's exactly what I do. I go out and I say, mate, I don't care what you've got to say. Don't care what you want. This is the first car. Just drive away. Just fucking get away from my house. This is my place of peace. I then go to the second car. He understood the assignment. You could see how angry I was. He just began to drive off. And then the third car was the one parked at Simon Gate. And yeah, I mean, you'll see the interaction. But yeah, I just sort of, you know, just, mate, just fuck off.

16:51I don't fucking care what you want, what you want to say, fuck off. And he said, oh, but yeah, but I just want to pitch it. And I'm like, I don't fucking care. Just get the fuck away from house. I was like, yeah, but my kids, my kids just want a picture. Like, you're upsetting my kids. And I'm like, you know, just in the heat of the moment, just like, mate, I don't give a fuck about your kids. What about my fucking kids that you're waking up, beeping your fucking horn? I said, just fuck off. And as he put it in gear and drove off, and as he was driving off, he lit me dead in the eyes and said, I'm going to knock you the fuck out.

17:24And honestly, you know when you just see red? Like, nothing was stopping me. You could have had a brick wall in front of me. I would have knocked it down to get to this motherfucker. Anyway, luckily he just drove away and I, in chase in my crocs, gave him a little bit of a chase. And I saw what I was filming. We went to grab his phone. Didn't quite get it. I was just going to get his phone and throw it in a bush. Just like your little cunt. And then the next, like within an hour, it was online. Right. so we're talking like half past 10 on a on a bank holiday monday night i was so chill and then my phone my phone just lights up just bing bing bing bing and i'm like fucking jesus and it got online and within i'm gonna say within an hour it had something like 13 million views right the sun had reposted it all the all the shitty fucking crappy news for english newspapers the what do call them the the tabloids yeah they were just grabbed it and just threw it everywhere and of course the title was uh roid rage road rage like and it just made out as though i'd just done this on the street like i just chased these guys and i'd upset these guys kids and i was screaming and shouting and threatened to kill people and so it just painted me as this absolute ogre like this guy that just wants to kill kids and and you know it just it just made me look so bad and i was reading the cat within the hour i had something like six six thousand comments let's say and i didn't see one positive comment not a one i was it was all like what a cunt let's all go to his house what a knobhead disgusting i hope he gets cancelled it was just one after the other and it was just getting worse and worse and worse so i i didn't sleep a wink so i had to like read all this shit i managed to get like an hour's sleep woke up in the morning i was like right my brother hung me up sort of mid-morning and he's in charge of like my companies and everything and he went just so you know ed he said i've seen what's what's going on he said just so you know your um your websites have done zero sales this morning.

19:46Zero. He said, that's never happened before. He said, you're being canceled. And I was like, what? Zero sales? Zero. All my sites did absolutely - I thought you were going to say it blown up. No, no, no. Zero. Like, you know, we're talking a lot of money. Yeah. Absolutely zero. And I employ a lot of people. So obviously that just put the panic through absolutely everybody in the family, in the businesses. and he sort of said like i wasn't going to do anything about it and he was just like ed you've got to do a response so i was like right okay i've got to get the truth out there and then i obviously managed to muster all the cctv cctv get all that together did a voiceover did all whatever sat down in my office did all that shit and i sent it my editor and i was just like is this going to work is this going to get my reputation back yeah and luckily it all changed it just went completely the other way it was like oh my god he had he also justified in this like those guys i was on their side to begin with but now they can go fuck themselves and it just completely reversed it just went it went completely the other way so thankfully that sort of statement on my youtube channel put everybody right i'm sure there were people out there that didn't watch that statement that will have just seen those you know the tabloid headlines and then that's it they just make the decision don't they yeah you know i'll always be that road rage cunt that chase kids down the street so the damage was done like no matter what damage is done but it was to get my fans back on side of like i am not that person i don't go out and scream at people for no reason these motherfuckers are outside my house for 20 minutes honking their horns telling my wife to off and whatever else so yeah there's limits and there's boundaries that if you're pushed things can happen and that was just one of those times but i will say this since that incident i've had one person knock on my house one person and it was an old man asking me to move a radiator in his house so everyone's got the message so everybody so i'm actually As stressful as it was at the time, I am super thankful that it happened because it's made people aware that, you know, somebody's place of peace is their place of peace and you should not disturb it.

22:06So it's actually done me a massive favour. Yeah. I mean, how can anyone in their right mind think they're going to get a photo after all that? I'll just piss the world's strongest man off for 20 minutes even more and I'll get my photo. I honestly, it's beyond me, but you'd be amazed what people do to get their precious picture for Facebook or Instagram, you know. People will do anything. They don't give a **** who they upset or... But isn't it better to, like, have a good engagement with the person? I'd never want a photo. I would say so. I'd want to get on with the person, not have a photo. Yeah, I much more appreciate, like, if I'm out with my family, someone just coming up to me like, hey, Ed, how are you doing, man?

22:46You okay? Great work, like, great content. See you in a bit, mate. I love that. Yeah. But when people come up, can I stop this? They didn't even ask me how I am. No. They ignore my family, which is grud in a way. Yeah.

22:59Eddie Hall:It's like, let's have a quick picture. And I'm like, mate, I'm with my family. Yeah. There was an incident, and this is the main reason I don't do pictures when I'm with my family now. So there was an incident, and this happened quite recently, where I was in a park and I was pushing my kids, both my kids on this swing on the like a big circle swing and i would say at least three people came and asked me for a picture why so i was pushing my kids on the swing and every time i was like no i'm sorry i can't take my eyes off my kids like i'm pushing my kids on the swing and everyone was like oh sorry sorry sorry so they get it right that journey from the park to my car another 10 pictures and i do them you know if i'm not Whatever, I'll do my pictures.

23:48And then I was putting my youngest daughter, she was only eight months at the time, I was putting her into a car seat, right? And it's a very bucket car seat. So I'm strapping her in, and then someone taps me on the shoulder, Eddie, can I have a quick picture? And I turn around. I was going to say, no, I'm busy. I turn around, I was a little boy there. Nan, granddad, mom, dad, brothers, sisters. And they're all like that. I'm like, say, okay, right. Let's do this picture. So I do this picture. Right. Thank you very much. They, they bugger off. As I turned back round, my daughter fell out the car seat, boom, boom, boom, boom, head first on the floor, completely knocked out.

24:30Right. Unconscious. And I picked her up and she was literally, you ever seen someone break the back and they go like, they go like spasm. Oh, wow. and she went into this like she was like a board she just went no no noise from her just went stiff as a board and i was instantly like i was like i broke her back or something so she's unconscious so i chucked her in the in the car drove to the hospital at 100 miles an hour got in there and got that dealt with but it was the fact that this family is so innocent isn't it yeah it's so innocent asking me for a picture when i'm with my face sounds so innocent but that that picture resulted in my daughter going to a &e and it's it's like people just don't think about that kind of shit you know when i'm pushing my kids on this let's say i did that picture with somebody when i'm pushing my kids on the swing i turned back and when i was on the floor with a broken neck it's just people just don't respect those boundaries and that's what that's what fucking boils me a little bit it's like you've got to respect those boundaries when a man's with his family you can leave them alone do you have anger do you sometimes find it hard to control anger i would say anger has been a big part of my life you know my younger years i was very angry you know teenager loved a scrap and and and i i guess i would actively go and find fights because i was just angry you know a lot of shit happened it just made me angry and I think that quite lucky really is I found the gym I found strongman and that's given me an outlet but when I don't have those goals and I don't have those things to chase and things to keep my mind busy I do find myself getting agitated and angry and I don't think it's not it's not like it's not who I am as a person I think it's the it's honestly the ADHD I think it's something that I've got that much pent up energy if I'm not expelling it I almost can stir myself up to a point where I'm so agitated you know I'll snap at anyone for this littlest things so I found over the years that that is I mean that's sort of like self-diagnosed but that's the reason why I get angry is I'm not expelling my energy and this is the important reason why I always have to reset my goals and keep chasing things is to keep that anger down keep that depression down you know i always i just think of it as like a like a bottle of water right so you've got depression anxiety and anger and over time it sort of builds up right and then you go to the gym it comes back down yeah you look so happy when you yeah yeah and then you know you're in the supermarket i'm out with my kids and i'm going to work and doing expos and it's just about going to go to the gym it comes back down and that's how i explain it to people it's just about to foam over and I'll bring it back down again with a good gym session.

27:34And that's how I control myself. You know, and it's not, I'm not an angry person, but I feel like the way my brain ticks can look like I'm an angry person. This recent budget should warn you that your pension is not safe and secure and they're coming for your inheritance. Do you even know how much is in your pension or where your pension is invested? Add to this the recent inheritance tax grab on your pensions and the risk of a market crash. You probably didn't know this, and I didn't until recently, but physical gold can be added to your pension pot. Gold is inheritance tax-free and has grown 700 % in the last 20 years.

28:12You probably know from my content I'm investing heavily in silver and gold, and that's why I've partnered with Direct Bullion. Myself and Nigel Farage are brand ambassadors, and Direct Bullion can help you with gold to protect and grow your pension. I buy my gold and silver from Direct Bullion, and I don't earn any money on any purchases of gold or silver if you buy direct from Direct Bullion. So if you go to robmore.directbullion.com, you can get a great price on your silver and gold and you can get the Pension Gold Investing Guide completely for free. As you know, I don't do many strategic partnerships.

28:45And when I do, I do them with people who are credible, who've been doing it a long time, who invest in things that I invest in too. And gold and silver's going wild. I'm investing heavily in gold and silver and I recommend you check out robmoore.directbullying.com Do you still back Trump? Yeah, I do. Yeah, I do. I think Trump, like love him, I hate him. I think he's doing what the people want. Deep down. I think, you know, he's a man of the people and, you know, he's not even my president but I can just see from an outside perspective in my opinion, I just feel like he's doing good things. He's just talking sense.

29:27He's being real. He's not bowing down to woke bullshit. You know, he's keeping, in my opinion, he's keeping America on a good track. Whether people sort of agree or disagree on that, that's totally down to them. I'm not going to get into that shit. But I support Trump. I think of all the presidents we've had so far, I think he's been the one that's been the most relatable to the people. And how do you think our prime minister is in terms of - Keir Starmer is the biggest fucking cunt. on planet earth i don't hold it back i'm not gonna hold it back he is a specky eyed cunt honestly i i can't think of any more bloke that's more hated in the uk right now than keir starmer he has backtracked and gone back on so many different things in britain and people have just had enough you know you speak to the joe public everyone's just had enough the the immigration the taxes, the school and this digital ID bullshit.

30:26It's just, it's just symbolic. He's not listening to the people, what the people want. And that's what makes him a bad prime minister is not listening to the general public. Why do you think he's not? Why is he so tone deaf? I think they just live in it. Honestly, I think the MPs and that, that sort of, I think they just live in a different world to us. I don't think they have to deal with our shit. You know, they don't live next to these immigration hotels. They don't have kids that live next to these immigration hotels that are getting sexually abused and molested. And they're not getting family members that are getting attacked and raped and everything.

31:01It doesn't affect them. So they're in a different world. They are in this higher bracket of income. They live in these high castles. They live in these high tier houses in London. They're just in a different bubble to us. And I genuinely think someone like Keir Starmer would do him a world of good. Come and live in the center of Birmingham. Yeah. Go and live in the center of Birmingham for fucking two weeks, three weeks, and just get stuck in. Just go to the fucking shops. Just go, you know, go to a fucking garage. Go to a supermarket. Go and have a pint. And just see what the fucking people are saying.

31:34See what's happening on the streets. I think that's what our prime minister should do, is fucking lower himself down to the general public's level and realize that he's serving the wrong people. He's serving the MPs and everybody else. is not serving the mass population in the country. And would you leave? How are you feeling about staying here? I'm getting fucked off with it, yeah. It's got to the point now where they keep doing all these surveys and everything about how we can increase taxes. And every single time it always points to the wealthy, right? So it always points to people like myself and like, pay more tax.

32:15I tell you now, I pay more tax than most people in this world. and to point the finger at us and say to pay more tax, that's just such a fucking pussy way out of it. And a prime minister should be thinking of ways to fix it. Number one, stop immigration. Stop illegal immigration. That would fix so much fucking funding in this country. The amount of our fucking tax money going on illegal immigrants is insane. Five and a half million a day. Just for the hotels. Just for the hotels. Just for the hotels. Oz, don't factor in the laptops, the phones. The Playstations, the bikes. Playstations, the bikes, the food.

32:53They even get 500 quid on their birthday. Did you know that? Did you know that? I didn't before you told me before we went on. 500 quid on their birthday. My son doesn't get 500 quid off the fucking government on the birthday. You fucking specky-eyed cunt. So, yeah, I'm just done with it. Like there's better ways to fucking save tax money rather than pointing the finger at the super rich. And it's just because people like myself will just pick up shop and fuck off. And then the country will be worse off, way worse off. And that's what's happened in other countries is they've pointed the finger at the mega rich.

33:31They've made them pay more tax. And what happens? They leave. They fuck off to Dubai. They fuck off to fucking wherever. And then that tax never fucking happens. And then the working class have to pay more tax. And the working class have to pay more. So just use common sense. And it's so easy. Like you do these polls and they give them to the general public. And of course they're going to say tax the wealthy more because they don't know any better. But what really needs to happen is the MP should be going, right, where can we actually save money? And it's fucking, you know, stuff like illegal immigration.

34:02Let's fuck that off before we start taxing our own people more. Silver has crashed. It's back to its price in 1974. And I'm going to buy more. Oh, that's a good question. I, you know, deep down inside, I would love him to be. And deep down inside, I would love to push him hard and pressure him to do that. but i feel like and i've been there myself if you put too much pressure on a kid they go the opposite way and they almost like want to defy their parents so did you ever do that what to my son defy your parents oh yeah so i had it when i was when i was max's age i was like a national champion swimmer like a very like olympic standard i was on the junior olympic team and up until that point it was super relaxed you know they would like take me to training drop me off you can leave me to it wouldn't you know they come to the odd competition oh well done you got another first you know but the second i got put onto this olympic squad was the second it got serious and the second my parents were like right you've got to go this training session oh you finished 10 minutes early that's not that we got to make it up next time and like turning up to the competitions but like everything just took it up a mega serious notch and it just made me hate it the second my parents started pushing me into training is the second i hated it and the second my my times and my pves and results just went like just fucking dropped out the arse yeah so i've been there myself and i know what pressure from your parents does support you know just taking me there have a good session picking me up oh you won another goal well done support is great but pressuring like you've got to go to session you've got to do this many lengths you've got to do what the coach says those are two totally different things yeah so i mean with max i said for years come to gym with me like from age five come to gym and he's always said no dad no no no he said when i'm 10 i'll come training with you 10 sounds like a good age and you know i stepped back i was like you know he's right you know body development and everything he's probably right yeah leaving until his 10th and then on his 10th birthday we started training here in the gym so i go in the gym four times a week two hours a session and he's done that consistently now for three years he's just turned 13 wow so he's you know barely missed any training sessions and any time i've tried to push him we've just butted heads like any time i tried to force him to do anything or do a heavier weight i almost feel like we could just break loose and break into a fist fight at any second and honestly i'm actually quite scared of the little bastard he's going to be so much bigger than me um so pressure is not the way you know i'm giving him the tools i hire a coach for him so i had a coach for the whole family just like pts for my mom my dad my you know my wife my son um whoever you know i was in the family you know and he takes him to the gym and he does the sessions with him and he does his programming and it works really well because he's He's got a mate.

37:49He's got someone he can talk to. He's got somebody he can, you know, talk about girlfriends and whatever else and whatever goes on at school. And he's got like, I've sort of like employed his best friend for him. Yeah. You know, to go and take him to the gym, which has been great. And I feel like that gets the best out of it. You must secretly want to train with him though. Yeah, no, I do. With your son. No, I do. Yeah, now and again, I'll join in. Oh, okay. And he's cool with that. He lets you in. Yeah, he's cool. Yeah, now and again, I'll be like, right, I'll ring his coach up and be like, I'm going to take him today.

38:17because sometimes I just like to remind him what hard work is. So now and again, you know, fuck his coach off. Right, right, mate. We're going to train fucking hard today. You know what I mean? And we'll fucking get it. And I'll push him on absolutely everything. And he knows it and he says it. But I'll just say like, you know, this is how you should, this is how I train. You know, if you want to be a top-level strongman, this is what you've got to do. So now and again, I'll do that with him. And I think it clicks. You know, it goes back to his coach and he does push that a little bit harder. Yeah.

38:47So it's little incentives, little pushes, but not to the point where if he's not doing the reps or if he fails something, I'm getting angry with him. Yeah. Because that's quite an easy thing to do, isn't it? Get angry with your kid for underperforming. I don't want to be that parent. No. And he's what, 13, is he now? Just turned 13, yeah. And what's he deadlifting? 160 kilos. Most adults can't do that. So I weighed him yesterday, actually. He's 101 kilos. He's 13. What year is that in school? Year nine. He must be twice the size of all the other kids. And also the youngest as well. If he was another two weeks younger, he'd still be in year eight.

39:25So he's fucking ginormous. Absolute ginormous. He's five foot 11. I mean, he's basically six foot. You know, he's a big... Yeah, he's going to be... If he's under six foot five, I'd be very surprised, you know? Yeah. He's going to be bigger than you. He's going to be bigger than me. yeah that's for sure if you could pick one thing to do consistently that is the best thing to train to get strong the one thing what would it be i mean it's got to be the deadlift i think if you're going to pick one exercise for the rest of your life to keep keep fit keep strong and keep everything good strength i would say deadlift because it trains absolutely everything it does you know you think about it you stood on your feet for to start with so you're working your feet your calves in some ways you know when you stoop down you're working your glutes your hamstrings yeah you feel it there as well your core front and back your upper back right your grip your forearms your biceps everything's taking a blast i think it's not blasting really it's your pecs and shoulders yeah so yeah i would say the deadlift that's the one hitting every muscle group in one go okay thank you and then what about a hack diet wise what's one thing that you just think really helps with strength in your diet?

40:43So I've started doing the carnivore diet, which has been absolutely phenomenal for me. So for years and years and years, especially in the strongman days, I would consume loads of carbs. Like, you know, I would have, for my lunch, I would have like half a kilo of steak and getting towards a kilo of pasta sometimes, a kilo of rice. It was ridiculous. Not far off those dumb pounds. And then for pudding, I'd have like half a family cheesecake. So like the carbs for me was fucking stupid, like stupid amount of carbs. And were you doing that to get big or just because you loved eating carbs? I think both.

41:20I think to get big, carbs is the way. You want to put size on and mass carbs. But now in my later years, I would say the best hack is just eating meat. Just like the carnivore diet, just meat, eggs and dairy. And that has honestly been a game changer for me. It has absolutely transformed my life mentally, physically. I'm sleeping better. I've got so much more clarity. I'm remembering things more. All my blood markers have improved. Every single one has got better. I feel better. My information's better. I'm not as sore. I'm not as laggy. I've got more energy because I'm performing just off fats.

42:01So my energy levels are actually better. My cardiovascular is stupid compared to what it used to be. you know i'm training five minute rounds in mma at the minute and at the end of the five minutes i'm like i could go again you know it's it's it's surreal what this time and i would i was if someone had told me in the strongman days you could eat nothing but meat and be super strong and fit i'd be like that's bullshit there's no way but now i've done it and like i've cut the carbs out it is a game changer so you've completely cut carbs out of you don't get me wrong i'm not super super strict on it and there will be times like sometimes i'll do like monday to friday nothing but meat and the weekends you know no carbs no carbs wow and you don't feel lethargic or great awesome and you know the weekends i'm not like super strict so the weekends i want a bit of sourdough with my eggs for breakfast i'll have some sourdough let's say on a saturday sunday night everyone's having a takeaway i'll have a takeaway but i'll just but i'll just keep that in mind so i'll just say if i'm having a chinese i'll have loads of meat and just have a little bit of noodles you know just keep the carbs right down and i still feel good so that's been a really good hack for me and and is there a limit to the meat you can eat you just keep ramming it down keep ramming it down i think there's been studies so i'm big into longativity at the minute and there's studies on red meat and longativity so the government will tell you that the more red meat you eat the shorter your lifespan and the more chance of death but if you actually delve into it and go into the studies so the people that eat the most red meat on the planet is japan right and japan have got the longest lifespan of anyone else on the planet and then i think second fuck me i can't i can't think right now but let's say second was like thailand i don't know and they ate the second amount of most red meat on the planet and they had the second longest lifespan so there's a massive correlation between red meat and the lifespan of a human being wow so you're not like talking about having protein supplements you're getting it mostly through actually eating red meat yeah i might have my sups but yeah i'd say 99 of my intake is is meat which is great because what man doesn't love steak i mean it's fucking great that's a this is a glitch in the matrix it is a glitch in the matrix and like you think how do you do that and there's so many things like if for breakfast i'm having salmon eggs a little bit of um like greek yogurt sometimes um lunch is always like half a kilo ribeye steaks i'll have chicken wings i'll have black pudding i'll have fucking halloumi cheese you know there's just so much stuff out there and i i tell i obviously eat uh quite a bit fermented foods as well right so i'll eat like uh so it has to be live cultured sauerkraut and live cultured kimchi so i'll eat stuff like that that's why i eat sourdough bread sometimes because it's live cultured So stuff like anything that keeps your bacteria good as well.

45:03Who is, pound for pound, the strongest person you've ever seen? Pound for pound. I'm going to go with a gentleman called Ed Cohen. That surprises me. Yeah. I thought you might say Magnus. He's a bit of a beast, isn't he? No, no, no. So Ed Cohen. Yeah. Give him a Google, Ed Cohen. Fucking phenomenal powerlifter from back in the day. So I'm sure he weighed. he weighed something like 70 kilo and he was dead lifting 420 wow like just the most ridiculous like pound to like body weight ratio you've ever seen so i'm gonna say a pound for pound strongest moon that's ever been ed cohen and how do you think he got that strong then that lighter weight dedication firstly having that mindset of pushing the boundaries but a little bit of Genetics, you know, good bone structures, good cartilage strength and everything else.

45:58Long arms, you know, to help you lift longer off the floor. But mainly I would just say mindset, you know, just a bloke that's like, right, I'm going to do something so drastically different to everybody else and push the boundaries harder than everybody else. Putting those extra hours in the gym, eating those extra bits of, you know, meat and proteins and whatever else. So that's what sets apart a champion from a loser, is mindset. Right. How do you push yourself to the absolute limits, but not over-trained, get injured and go backwards? That's a real tough one. So pushing yourself to the absolute limits when you are young is great.

46:38No downside. Oh, man, it's great. I remember being 21 years of age, 22 years of age. I would train all week. I would then go out on the weekend, get blasted up on cocaine, whatever else. I would compete up the weekend as well and on strand one competitions. And then I'd be back in the gym Monday and I do that quite religiously. Yeah. And then I only got to like age 26 that stopped the drugs about that age. But I'd say by age 26, like you do, you do a week of training, you do your competition and you need a week off. And then when you hit 36, it's two weeks off, you know, and you just feel age and growth hormones and like that, that ability to recover diminishes so fast.

47:30So you've got to listen to your body. Right. And I would say when I was a teenager, I honestly didn't think there was any such fingers over training because I would train for three, four hours every single night after a 10 hour shift at work. And then I'd go work the doors till, you know eight at night till two in the morning i'd go to bed for four hours i'd get up and do it all again and i'd do that for years like up until i was like 25 26 and i felt invincible and then as i say you just you know when like they say the the human body ages at certain brackets and i think that's the same with uh with sport you sort of have brackets like 16 to say 24 you know you're in this bracket of like you can recover from anything within three days and then once you get past 24 to say 32 you're in another bracket where it takes you maybe five six days to recover so you've just got to listen to your body you know you've got to you've got to what does that mean so if you're feeling fucking sore and you're going into the gym to train that body part again maybe you shouldn't be doing it right if you've got a niggle you got a little injury in your arm or you know your back sore or whatever sometimes you just got to be like right i'm going to take going and training hard i mean for me now at my size at my age i'm 37 i mean the big days i've worked with coaches in the past where you know we'll do uh weights in the morning we'll do swimming in the afternoon and they'll do fight training in the evening and you know you do that for a few weeks and you can destroy it and you realize you can have the weekend no no you want you in saturday morning and you go in saturday morning and then you've absolutely fried you've And you've burnt out.

49:18Yeah. And you're just, you know, you're going backward. So you've got to listen to yourself. And sometimes you've got to tell coaches, fuck off sometimes. And be like, no, I'm tired. My back hurts. I've got a bad foot. I need the session off. I need a week off. You've just got to listen to your body. That's the number one thing is listen to your body. If you're training through injuries and you're turning up to sessions already fucked, then you're probably doing something wrong. and should you if you're just an ordinary person training but you want to progress um should you be progressing every session um or is that unrealistic and you know obviously i'm you know i'm not a greek statue but i do try and work out a bit and sometimes i can bang out 12 good chin-ups and sometimes i can only get eight out and i'm thinking there's no point doing my workout today because i'm not progressing or is it just because i'm maybe not hydrated it's maybe just I'm not feeling good and I should carry on training see what I mean should you always be progressing yeah so I'll tell you a story that will proper resonate with that so I would say age 21 I hit a 420 kilo deadlift wow at 21 years of age I then came back every single week every single Thursday I'd come in the week and I'd try and beat 420 kilo so what what would happen every single week i'd come back and pull 420 sometimes it'd be done easy sometimes it'd be done hard yeah but anytime i put any more weight on like 430 i'd fail right and i did this for four years oh wow right and it wasn't till somebody actually actually like spoke to me and said all right slow down a minute take a step back the human and this is what broke it down for me is like the human body cannot recover from a maximal deadlift within seven days it takes 10 days to recover from a maximum deadlift effort so with that in mind that's all he said to me and then with that in mind i went away i was like right how the can i get around this then so what i worked out is is i do a week of heavy and a week of speed so i do a week of heavy lifting where i do i don't know and then implemented reps.

51:33So I do like a week of like, say five reps at 400 kilo. And the next week I do eight sets of two at like 50%, like 210 kilo or whatever, and just do it as fast as I could. And that way I'm still training the fast twitch fibers, but I'm allowing the body to actually recover. And once I implemented that, that was, I'm going to say when I was 26, something like that, within within a year i got up to 460 kilos and then i used that method to go on and on and eventually pull 500 and it was just that that one person said to me it's like your body just cannot recover from the maximum lift every every week so you've got to you've got to go back to the drawing board and think and that'll be the same with your pull-ups right so you've got to you've got to treat your body like if you think your body can come back every week and give maximum and effort it just can't takes more than seven days because you're ripping all that muscle all that fiber yeah it's going to take you 10 days to recover from that so you've got to do something in the meantime to carry you over whilst it's still repairing right so one week heavy one week fast i would say that works a lot for that this is why like we have heavy weeks and deload weeks you know it doesn't work for everything i say if we're bent you're better off just staying heavy heavy heavy heavy then have a deload week you know because it's such a smaller muscle group Right.

52:56So you can perhaps get away with it. Pull-ups, lats, it's quite a big muscle group. So, you know, you've got to factor it in. Legs is a big muscle group. So, again, I'd do like a weaker heavy, a weaker speed, those kind of things. Okay. Thank you. Yeah. Okay. Why MMA now? Like you only just kind of got into boxing and now it's MMA. I guess obviously the boxing journey was, like we spoke last time, was a tough journey. And I feel like boxing is, although a great sport, is a very restrictive sport for a big muscle-bound man like myself. So after the fight with Thor, it's like, come back. I had a good two years of just, well, a year and a half of just letting go.

53:43Like, I hadn't had a break in, jeez. I'm going to say, like, 15 years. like just had no breaks like very very few holidays and i just let go i don't know if you notice i put a lot of weight on during that period um but i was also working with a hormone doctor and i managed to get my sperm count back up and i managed to have two two more children during that period as well so it was like a nice big reset you know finish the boxing just stop everything did a little bit of weights but just like just a reset two more kids it was like something that I really needed in my life just to reset myself. And then the challenge came along actually to fight Brian Shaw, Mitchell Hooper, and Martin Ford in a four-way MMA fight.

54:34Just like a free-for-all. I think it was two fight, right? So I think I was going to fight Mitchell Hooper, and then the winner of that one would fight the winner of Martin Ford and Brian Shaw. Yeah. And then so it'd be like a four-man eliminator, sorry. Yeah. So I signed this deal, like life-changing money, stupid money, and I went on this quest to become an MMA fighter. And during that six-month period, I just really enjoyed myself. You know, lost a lot of weight, learning something new every single day. And then that fight got cancelled. The Ministry of Sport got arrested for fraud in Qatar, and that big paycheck fucking fell through.

55:12Oh, no. Six months of my life down the fucking drain. How much was it? they were paying my contract was for 20 million yeah and you never got it and i never got a penny six months training yeah six months of my life committed fully committed nothing but mma turning down hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of work obviously neglecting my other work neglecting my you know sort of soul career which is lifting weights on youtube everything was neglected yeah so it was like a massive frustration of like all that prep for a call and i've got to do something with it so how can i challenge myself and the challenge was to fight somebody who had done big waves in mma world and someone that was gonna create some big attention and then marius pudnoski came to mind and um i hooked up with this mma coach g oaks and his son jake oaks and we went on this journey and we did a pretty much from the from the day of visualization like all right i want to fight marius pudnoski pretty much a year later i was in the ring with marius so it was it was all i i guess accidental but then worked out pretty well it's something that I enjoy and I'm still actively, you know, looking for more fights now.

56:35And, uh, yeah, it was something that I feel it was very needed in my life. Cause I think it's very easy for people like myself to win the world's strongest mind like I did and then retire and you just turn into a massive fat fucking slob. So, so, uh, which I did do. Um, so it was nice to give myself a challenge and stop myself from turning into that. Yeah. And, um, who's your next fight then? So I'm in talks at the minute with a few federations about fighting Dylan Danis, who is the world-renowned. I think he won some big titles in jiu-jitsu. He's quite a badass. He's had a lot of fights, and obviously you've seen him fight on Misfits and stuff like that.

57:19A bit of a love him, hate him character. So yeah, Dylan Danis has all been well. We get some contracts signed, and hopefully off we go. And he is a lot smaller than you, so I guess you're going to have to cut. I mean, right, so from face value, it looks very unfair. Because he weighs 80 kilo. And you weigh 165. Hear me out, though. Okay, so face value, it seems very unfair. Yeah. Well, from what I gather, he walks around close to 100 kilo. Okay. And as part of the stipulation, I've got to come down to under 300 pounds, which is 130 kilo or 135 kilo. So come the fight, there will only be around 35 kilo difference.

58:10I mean, that's still a lot. It's still a lot, but it's nowhere near, you know, it's not 80 kilo. No. And he's pretty much a professional fighter. He is a professional fighter. Yeah. He's been doing it full time for his whole life. Yeah. I've been doing it a year and a half. So face value, it sounds like, oh, you're going to mince him. But by the time you've factored in the weight loss, his weight gain, the round times, obviously everything's going to be in his favour. It's going to be five-minute rounds. Oh, so you'll just sign that off, will you? Well, I'll have to. I have to sort of give him every advantage because I've got the biggest advantage, which is size and strength.

58:44So he's going to go for really long rounds and try and gas you out. Yeah. So, yeah, but that's what makes it tough. That's what makes it fun. and that's what makes it a challenge, you know, getting down to 135. I haven't weighed 300 pounds since I was 21. How are you going to lose that much weight? I honestly don't know yet. I mean, if we had to get the deal done for February, it gives me just over three months. It's going to be a hard process because there isn't 30, I don't know how much I'm going to lose, 30 kilo pretty much. I honestly don't think there's, if I were to be like 0 % body fat, I could probably lose 30 kilo and be 0 % body fat.

59:23That's just unrealistic. It's not going to happen. So I'm going to have to lose muscle. You're going to have to pull some muscle back as well as the fat to get down to that weight. So it's going to be a super strict diet. It'd be carnivore only. It would just be meat, eggs, and dairy. And yeah, it'd be a little bit of calorie restriction, I would imagine, to get down to that weight pretty fast. I mean, 30 kilo in less than 30 weeks. That is a lot. Kilo a week. And surely it's against your religion to lose muscle. I was just thinking, it must be, the ego's going to hurt, isn't it? I mean, it hurts every day of my life, you know, not being as big as it used to be.

1:00:04So yeah, it's going to fucking hurt a lot getting down to 135 kilos. It's going to be really tough. Yeah, of course. Yeah. Does it not scare you getting in the ring with professional, dangerous fighters? Because obviously you're a big guy, but, you know, they've been training their whole life fighting. I mean yeah of course it does I'd be lying if I wasn't scared going in the ring with Thor I'd be lying he's big at that time I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared getting in the ring for that 2v1 fight you know I wasn't scared getting with the Marius I was yeah because these are all opportunities that you're going to get knocked out yeah broken nose broken jaw or even worse on a life you know these are very um very serious things yeah so yeah the marius fight was i was bricking i was shitting bricks i mean but you've great performance wasn't it you did the business it a lot of things led up to that that really backed me into a corner i think that that made the marius fight so interesting so so i we agreed some some sort of details like a year out like right we're gonna fight next april we're gonna do two minute rounds we're gonna be these rules that rules right fine right so i i off i went training a whole pretty much 10 11 months two minute rounds signed the contract and then i think there's something like four five weeks before the fight mario says unless we're doing five minute rounds i'm not fine and i was like you fucking bastard yeah like i've trained all this time and he must have known what he was going to do and And then he pulled this ace out at the last second.

1:01:41Like he's got five minute rounds. And of course, for someone my size, like being at Emerson's 160 kilo, that's a big ask. Five minute rounds is a huge ask. So we argued and argued and argued. And in the end, he was like, right, okay, I'm not fighting. And it looked as though I was the one pulling out because I wouldn't agree to his terms. So all the media and all the press was like, Eddie Hall's thinking of backing out this fight because they won't come to his demands of the two-minute rounds. And I'm like, he proper put me in a corner here because we agreed two-minute rounds and then he ups it to five.

1:02:19And it made me look the twat. It made me look like I was pulling out. So in the end, me and my coach just sat down and we're like, you know what, give him exactly what he wants and just smash him in the first minute. And that was literally our tactic. It worked. So give him two hour rounds. It doesn't fucking matter. Just go out there and fucking bulldoze him. So I think it was actually his own doing as to why that fight went the way it did. If it would have done two minute rounds, I would have paced myself. Yeah. I would have, you know, a bit more of a fight. But the fact he put so much pressure on me and taking my advantage away, it made me go the opposite.

1:03:01It's like, right, one minute. You've got one minute to finish it. Give it your all. Yeah. Was it like 30 seconds or something? 28 seconds, yeah. So his own tactic worked against him, in my opinion. He popped himself over by asking for the five-minute round. Yeah, and I saw the two-person fight you had. I mean, you were throwing them around like they were kittens. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were, I mean. How was that? It was good fun. Yeah? It was good fun. I mean, that was just something that just came about very weirdly. There was a couple of Polish kids on TikTok. Fair play to those nutters. Fair play to him, yeah.

1:03:36They were giving me so much shit online. And I just sent them a message like, Luke, guys, keep my fucking name out of your mouth, bro. I'll fucking sort you out. And the next minute, I've got a contract under my nose to fight these two guys in Blackburn and England. And I was like, to the amount? I was like, yeah, this is an easy match. It wasn't that much, but enough for me to be like, you know, Friday night out. It'll fucking do for a little bit. In the UK, it must be a lot of money then. So yeah, that was good fun. I mean, they both weighed 165 pounds, which is like 65 kilo, something like that.

1:04:13And they were like, what, 5 '10", 5 '9", something like that. But yeah, it was good fun. It was good fun. But again, risky. Yeah. People think, oh, it was such an easy fight. You get in the ring with two guys and tell me how easy a fight is. No, you made it look easy. I made it look easy. But yeah, dangerous territory. because the only one's got a grip around the neck and then you're done. The other one's smacking you in the face. It was a risky fight to take. Yeah. Is there anyone you wouldn't fight? You know, because they're just too good or scary? I think, I mean, look, money talks. I think everyone's got a price on absolutely anything in life.

1:04:53Yeah. So I would fight. There's no one on this planet that I wouldn't fight for the right amount of money, if that makes sense. That does make sense. but you know if we're talking do I want to fight Francis and Ganu well isn't there some quote you said about that fight there is yeah so but this is the thing so in the circumstances I just fought Marius and then obviously my contract was to fight again with KSW and they were like right your next we're going to get your next fight as Francis and Ganu and I'm like there's like I would rather get fucked in the ass by the devil than fight Francis Ngannou for fucking a few hundred grand like that.

1:05:35Like that's,

1:05:36Eddie Hall:it was just, it was just no. No, no, no. As I say, the risk reward was so off. Yeah. It was like, you want to fight Francis Ngannou, it's got to be the multi-millions. What would you fight him for? Oh, fucking hell. Would you do it for 10 million? I'd probably do it for five. Right. Yeah. And that's like, And I would still train my dick off and try and beat him for five. I wouldn't go in to take a beating. No. I would take five million, and I would literally try and decimate him. Same strategy. Same strategy. Just go in and just fucking bulldoze. What else could you do? Someone like Francis, there's no point standing there and exchanging with someone like Francis.

1:06:16He's so experienced. He's got so much IQ that it would just outlast you. In a few minutes, he'd wear you down. Yeah. So someone like him, yeah, it would just have to be a bulldoze job and just hope you get the job done. Yeah, and would you fight Jake Paul? Yeah, of course. Good payday, wouldn't it? Good payday, yeah. Yeah, would you fight him at boxing? Yeah, I'd fight him at boxing, yeah. I think that'd be a tough little battle, actually. People play him down and people love to hate on Jake Paul, but I actually quite like the kid. And some of the fights he's taken, people say only fights old men and whatever else i mean they might type minus the mike tyson fight but all the others like legitimately good fighters good scrappers and he went in and held his own even even tommy fury you know tommy fury is a decent level boxer and he lost to tommy but not by much yeah do you know what i mean it wasn't like a it wasn't like a beat down you know it was it was a good scrap so a bit fair preps to jake paul i think if you know he's probably and no doubt improved a lot since then as well yeah and he disrupted the whole industry didn't he he did the whole thing he did and what people don't quite realize is he's making more money than any of the pro boxers probably put together that is mad it's mad do you think that's warranted i think he deserves it because of how much like balls he's put on the line you know for a man that's literally laid his bollocks out for the whole world to see and win draw or lose he's gone in there yeah and i think you should get paid for that and he's he's created that that environment for himself he's set those fights up he's he's set up those platforms he's got it on netflix he's done that these other pro boxers haven't got fights got on netflix and everything else so yeah you've got to give him his props he more than well deserved what he's got Would you call yourself a businessman?

1:08:15I would say I'm very business minded. I guess being brought into the world of endorsements and prize money and, you know, even in waves and appearances, there's been a lot of money. and at first it was like taking all this personally which was fucking stupid uh but very quickly i set up a business because of the income tax because i get personally yeah and and that sort of manifested very quickly into you know loads of different things i've invested in several businesses uh set up my own business beast farm which is becoming very successful is that supplements yes supplements yeah yeah so i guess you know i at heart i'm not a businessman i've got very good people around me that look after my you know my finances and everything but i've always been good i'm not a businessman but i've always been good with money that makes sense so when i was 18 i bought my first house 19 bought my second house so and these are things you know i remember at the time people being like buying a house 18 are you mad and it's just the way i was sort of blueprinted yeah i've always thought 10 years ahead i've never never thought for the moment i'm always thinking in 10 years time is that going to benefit me yeah and um that's that's why i've always done business and you know even now i don't pull money out the business it's like right i'm going to invest that into into gold into silver into that business whatever it's always been 10 years time because no one who buys gold isn't is looking for a quick buck are they you You buy gold and silver and whatever, and you're thinking, right, 30 years' time is going to be worth three times as much.

1:10:09That's how I'm business-minded in that respect. Because not everyone is blessed like that. Because I think a lot of people who are successful, say, in sport or something, they're fucking terrible with money, aren't they? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess you must have seen some people squander a load of money. Oh, and we all have, haven't we? We've seen many a footballer come and go. Yeah, a boxer. Yeah, Jesus, yeah. They've come and bought the Lamborghini. even if they've been in the high rented house. And there's been cases of some of them are now working, you know, like stacking shelves or working in a construction yard or, you know, it happens, doesn't it?

1:10:43And again, I think it's very sad because they've been given an opportunity a lifetime, even if it's a short window, even if a footballer does a year and earns, just for argument's sake, earns a million, you know, to go away and just spunk that up the wall on cars and whatever else is so, so sad. but that million could be invested into property, into jewelry, into whatever. That could set you up for life. But yeah, I think it's the environment you're brought in. Parents are a big one as well. If your parents aren't looking to the future, if they're living the moment, as people love to say, that can rub off on you.

1:11:23Someone wins 10 grand, they go and buy a 10 grand car. If I win 10 grand, I'm putting that in the bank or investing it in gold and silver. But, you know, it's little things like that. I think environment's a big one. Friends, family, people around you. It must help that there is no way on this earth you could fit in a Lamborghini. I mean, maybe the Urus, maybe just. I would say. I mean, the Galados and the Hurricanes are tiny, aren't they? Have you ever tried to get in one? I mean, look, at one point I was like, I really wanted a Ferrari when I was younger. Like, before I was an adult. Really, really wanted a Ferrari.

1:12:02but I'm not a one for show of things, but then I've got two f***ing tanks. So I can't talk like that. But I love my toys, but yeah, if they did a Lamborghini my size, I probably still wouldn't have one. No. Yeah. No, I mean, I can't get in a Huracan, so how the f*** are you going to get in one? No, exactly. I have tried. Have you? Yeah. I couldn't even get a leg under the steering wheel. No, it'd be atrocious, that would. And final question. First off, thanks again for letting us here in your gym. What's your biggest mistake or regret? You know what? I've come to a point in my life where I don't have any.

1:12:49But we all have one. No, I honestly can't think of any. None? No, I can't. I think everything happens for a reason. and I think you know like big things in life that have gone wrong for me I've always had really good long-term results and long-term sort of turnarounds right and I think that's why I don't have any regrets you know I think I think one of the one of the especially this stage of my life like losing the fight the boxing fight to thor that was huge that was such a hard freaking thing to take for me but then i i actually evaluate right so i think to myself right what would have happened if i had a one okay so if i had a one i probably would have took another fight straight after that and then another one and then another one and i wouldn't have been able to sort of sit back, relax, work with a hormone doctor and have two more kids.

1:13:52So I see it as, you know, as horrible as it was, like losing to anyone, losing to anything is tough. Yeah, I learned to that scale. As horrible as it was, even something like that, you know, it's had a massive positive turnaround and outcome in my life. And I'm actually, in some ways, thankful that that happened. Because if it had gone the other way, I don't think I'd ever had two more kids. No. So, you know, everything happens for a reason. So I think I'm at the stage of my life where I don't have any regrets or, you know, what ifs. It's like, eh, it is what it is. Yeah. If I could go back in time and punch in the right lottery numbers, I would, don't get me wrong.

1:14:34But, yeah, there's no regrets. Are you friends with Thor? No, we're not friends. No? No, he actually put a – somebody sent me a link the other day, So apparently he said we can be friends if I take the video down off my YouTube channel that proves the truth. So you can be friends under his condition. I was just like, what a fucking dick. So, yeah, and it's also, it's hilarious. So, and this is genuine things. So Thor has genuinely said he is not going back to Will's Strongest Man as long as Colin Bryce and Eddie Hall are involved. So he's never going back to Will's Strongest Man. and yeah we can only be friends if I take down the video on my YouTube channel that that he says is bullshit but I think it's just basically a video that that relays the truth he wants the truth taken down so he can be right and I can be wrong so that's the only way we can be friends so Thor just to let you know that video is staying up for the rest of your fucking life until you say Eddie Hall won World's Strongest Man since 2017 and I'm a little bitch and then I'll take it down.

1:15:46Love you, mate. What are you, I'm working on right now that you want to share? I mean, look, other than Beast Farm, I'm... So you want to tell us what Beast Farm is? Beast Farm is a supplement company, just the standard stuff. But I've got a few quick protein, creatines. I've got my own formula, like Sleep Formulas. Yeah. I've got a product called Big D, which is like a daily thing that you take to build. We should get on it. Thanks. It's a daily thing that you take, everything your muscle needs to get bigger. Okay. Yeah, we're just building some quick. We've got Big Love as well, which is something I formulated, obviously because I had trouble getting my sperm count back up.

1:16:27So I actually formulated my own formulation to get it all back up. Oh, wow. That's like a supplement, is it? Yeah, yeah. So that's like a fertility booster enhancer, libido enhancer as well. It just boosts everything. Yeah. And that's called Big Love. Big Love. Yeah. So stuff like that. I'm working on a TV show called Battle of the Beasts. That's just been done, filmed, edited. It's in the edit room now. And then hopefully that's going to land on a big streaming platform. And what's that about, Battle of the Beasts? So it's my own sort of show where I originally wanted to do Strongman, but then I realized Strongman's been done so many times.

1:17:10I need to change the book a little bit. So I ended up doing half Strongman, half entertainment. So I've done three Strongman events. We've got the deadlift, the Hercules hold, and what else was there? Like a loading event. So we're testing the body in strength, endurance, and pain. And then the other three events were, one was sumo, sumo wrestling. So I was like, we've had it before in Strongman, but I was like, why haven't we got this? It's such an alpha thing, isn't it? It's in two bloke can go at each other. So we're having sumo wrestling. One of the events was a belly flop competition. So you'd have to perform a dance to music and then do a belly flop, and you were marked down on creativity, your sound, and the pain.

1:17:59So you were judged with judges, with scorecards and everything. Nice. And then an eating competition as one of the events. Wow. And there was that woman. She's insane. Leah Shakiva. Yeah. Yeah, she's fucking incredible. Is she the real deal when it comes to - 100%. Yeah, she's unreal. Yeah, all three of us could have a plate of meat. she'd have the same plate of meat give us five minutes she'd devour it and we'd still be going wow she's incredible yeah different breed wow and what's your main social media that you put your content out on YouTube Instagram Facebook at handle at Eddie Hall WSF same person for everything I love watching your Facebook I follow you well obviously I follow you on the mall but I watch your Facebook videos I really like them thank you and Eddie once again thanks a lot thank you mate cheers cheers
