They put it in the anal cavity, wrap it, and then they later excrete it. Think about any possible way you can think about it. It can be smuggled. What's the craziest thing you've got? Once I found a bag full of sharp teeth. Once I found a life scorpions. They were set in briefcase and they had tape on them. And they were alive? Yes, they were alive. How many people are who are willing and who are corrupt? 60-70 % are corrupt and around 20-30 % are not corrupt at all. Many people have friendship with a central exercise officer or a GST officer and they have been interested in the competitors.
0:45You can become informant, whatever recovery you will get, you will get a reward. Today's guest is Ravi Kapoor, an ex-IRS officer, who has told us today how shocking things are that how people hide gold in body parts. How does drugs trade happen? When a big politician or industrialist is in a house, who gives a tip? Let's say, a business has not been wrong. How much power do you have to accuse? I think plenty. They can start investigating them. They can try to get any wrong. They can do extra audits so that their delays will increase. The informant said where news came, where intelligence came, what kind of a problem is.
1:22Okay, I can do it. The chief minister is more powerful or the richest man in the state is more powerful?
1:38support insightful or better podcast and it's pure show audio experience spotify available where you can follow us enjoy the show
1:52so first IRS Indian Revenue Services there are two IRS sister services this is IRS income tax this is IRS customs and indirect taxes so I was in customs and indirect taxes so that excise but now because GST has been so I am talking about indirect taxes. Okay. So GST and customs map. So first posting is going as an IRS. Airbus. Airbus. Airport. Customs. The work was done that in the airport you have green channel and red channel where customers were standing. I was there assistant commissioner. And your work was done that you can't stop and you can't stop smuggling. And you can't stop customs evasions and violations is people.
2:39People are physically. You can run a brain on the spot. If you're a person, you can say something. You can show a person. So how do you get it? How many people are looking at it? How many people are looking at it? How do you decide who is looking at it? Yes. It's called profiling. It's very easy. Because you can see that every day. Why are you doing it? Why? Why are you doing it? Same person. and that is a group of people who know that they are not the pleasure of tourists. They are the ones carrying the gold or the goods or whatever it is and masterminds that's not the same thing. So, you know, I would like to see the same things, and go to the side.
3:38So, you would be afraid of it. But, your instinct and intuition always has a lot of control. For example, I was only around and someone gave me assets and more or less, a flight came from Dubai or Qatar. I don't know where. I had all passengers left. Okay. Airport almost empty was the guy saw me that he was coming back, on his side the drops José的是 dice making the piece he came
4:13people and he was He called me to scan 3 kilos Youjan were lifted Ice making was No, no. It's so much. It's so much. It's so much. It's so much. It's so much. It's so much. Your cell phone, I think, roughly. It was concealed in there. One ray was done. I got a point. I got a point. It's like many times. It's like instinct. Randomly. But it's like facial expressions. Usually people are afraid. It's like something. It's like regular. It's like confident. Frankly speaking, no. Because if you're standing in the world, you're a little agitation. Exactly. That's what's my point. If you say that you see, I will cross-question.
4:58No, frankly speaking. You just sort of figure out by the faces and the profiles and the instinct and if you, I'll tell you another thing that happens. You have to land from the airport, you have to land from the airport, you have to de-board from the airport, you have to go to the belt. Your luggage is not visible from you. That doesn't show you. Correct? Your luggage is removed and the conveyor belt is loaded on it. it is behind the wall and there is no customer officer sitting there he sees it so the system that used to be followed I think if you scan and something is like a scanner is saying something is something is strange so he will put something in the direction X will make it white chalk and then he will do it check that is actually the way it works so like that there is no way to get out like that people intelligence you know who is who is who is who is who is who is who is intelligence how do you come to and all this letter people email I used to get personal phone calls sometimes from competing smugglers that he is who is who is who is who is who is who is
6:27but yeah intelligence is the best way but how do you build your intelligence now how do you now this can't wait on it that sometimes two gangs will fight then one will be jealous and then you can't do it so how do you build this so there is something called the AIU air intelligence unit okay it's my job was not to build an intelligence network but if I was going to build it, when I work with them, I'm behind you. You've got to probably buy it, I'm going to go and then you'llavia when you think through how do you fit it? K intéladı? How do you do that? If we can work cool with a number of units,
7:14which was more such a result, or relaxed, or chill or corrupt, they were strict. If it was strict, it was a lot of people. Who are those? At that point, the airport is a 24 hour thing. There are batches circulate. 12 hours a batch, then they will go home, then they will go home, then they will go home. A, B, C, D. They will go home. Okay. Batch A, B, C, D. And they are very particular that they will bring who will bring the batch and who will not bring the batch. They will kill. They know it. so they can understand what is the idea the most much what is the smuggle what is the smuggle drugs diamonds what gold I think frankly speaking gold is the only thing which is detectable properly drugs you can't know drugs drugs just randomly drugs detect or intelligence drugs very difficult to be in the airport why if you are security check-in you can't get it security check-in how do you get it security check-in which is metal detector it will show you the density of metal if it's gold if it's gold or something very heavy metal it will show you it will show you the density of metal you will be able to see through it so it will show you the density of metal so it's gold how do you detect a drug so if you can get a drug in your bag or a talcum powder
8:44it's that easy it is that easy obviously it's a punishment
9:15decimal segment extremely 입 I can't check. No scan in the way it's not possible. Depends on the drug but virtually very difficult. So gold how do people take gold? Gold people take ingenious ways. What do you do? Tell me the craziest ways people take gold. Anal cavities. Yeah. Is it real? It is real. It is the most common. So what do you do? They put it in the anal cavity wrap it up and wrap it up. Proper. And then they later excrete it and it is only it is only found x-ray and when the human passes when the passenger passes through middle detector if it's very bad and you have to detect your hand then you have to detain x-ray medical government hospital and we have anal cavities commonly seen we have seen we have seen 2-3 we have seen ingest pellets paid ke ander to ye kaisa karete hai nikal dite hai chances nye ho ya marnye ke chances and to beho chote chote chote chances and merte bhi to hai lo sometimes drugs when people ingest drugs sometimes the layering will rupture and people do die because of this to aise loog gold kha ke lage hai chota chota gold kha agar hai to wo conceal dooga to ye to chalo body concealment bolte hai se body ke bhaar bhi concealment horti hai or people take it from anal cavity and vaginal cavity.
10:48How do you get it? Metal detector will come. If you see anything, then it will happen. Then it will happen in the government hospital. Then it will happen in the government hospital. If something comes in, then it will happen. Then it will happen. You wait. One person will hold the problem. You will go. Take it. Yes. I've never done that thankfully. But that is the only way. So it's, now a person who is in airport scanning him now he is and he is like that body in something so they will stop so then he will start you will land you will not check in how he got it where he got it from depends people are creative we have found sometimes suit case suit case lining lining, pure gold because gold is very ductile and malleable.
11:45You can mold it. Pure lining was gold. When you scan it, you don't think it's gold. And the gold smuggle is raw. Raw form. So it is even more malleable. Some people will just try and sort of conceal it and wear it but that is still likely to get detected. but ingenious ways are in the luggage like this ice making machine I told you and all these body concealments and you know think about any possible way you can think about it that can it can be it can be smuggled it can be smuggled many people are afraid to shop in the house how to take the house how to take the house what's that there is a limit to the amount that you can bring and this is what customs is customs is a tax which is imposed on the border.
12:38If you have something in India to bring something in India, then you will have to give customers. Many people, if it's a quantity on the top, then the tax is more than that. But in fact, people buy it out because there is more tax in India. That is the whole point of it. Which is the whole point of smuggling. So when people bring it to us, they must declare it. The ideal case is that you declare it. Thread channel is that I have to give it. It was the value of it. It was the invoice of it. And whatever customer duty is made,
13:24you have no proof where is it? How does it not? So, this is a query. I was at home before I was at home. But you have violated the law and you will take it. Why have I violated the law if I am in India? You have to declare to take it before. Go to the train. Which is a cumbersome procedure. I used to get this query so much when I was at the customer. If I go to the store, how do we declare? People want to follow. If you have a Panganak in the future. So, declare to the store is a very complicated procedure. There are jewelry appraisers. they will see gold. They will see proper. They will be able to get it.
14:04They will get it. They will get it. They will get it. They will get it. The photo photo is going to get it. Then they will get it. Most people ultimately just end up avoiding it. Who is it in the mind? You have to leave a benefit of doubt. That you think you should actually go to the house? No. Everyone is in CCTV. It is open. How do you think? For example, if you have aunties, you can see it.
14:31like throatshahein se liekhe gahe honge kya inse hum unse bhi aapko pata hai to bhi you'll charge them agar india ke antara aar hai koi aapko kaisa pata ki kahan se liekar hai wo shadhi se liekar hai india se liekar hai if proof kari dhai ki em shadhi me higay thai haa to koji fark nip badao customs to law to pilot hoi gaya na to lagayin gyo usko and agar koji bhaar se blog phones kari gta hai bhoot zahda US Dubai where system so if you the system can take
15:07which can be for example alcohol limit two bottles per person I'm not so sure exactly casual but if there luggage package I don't know some random brand big brand that's the thing, you'll see what threshold is, that's the time, if it happens, it will be okay, if it happens, you'll be if you cross that line, then yes, that's what they're there for and which one of the craziest ways, you've got to get it once I found shark teeth a bag full of shark teeth once I found live scorpions in somebody's luggage, smuggled live scorpions scorpions?
16:06why someone smuggled? Direct Rate of Revenue Intelligence for this work. Okay. So you can get this mastermind.
16:55So you can get this mastermind. You can get this by default. It's the system. Then what do you do? Then what do you do? Then what do you do? Okay. So you can get this unauthorized. No, not authorized. Authorized. Authorized. Permission. That can be done. Then what do you do? Then what do you do? have you heard of any story where you have put a proper smuggler what's the process this is the process this is the carrier you have to interrogate where you are where you are all of that I have to hypothetical how will it happen if you have put a carrier when you have put a carrier then you will say what will it happen and you will know that there are two three people in the whole city who work on this type and they will do every city there are hubs where they have in investigations one day TABY NAHI HAYE AURGHAAN POR AAP PATA DILHI MEI DOO-TIN JGAHAH YAHAAN POR HO RAH AURGHAAN POR AAP PATA KARNAH KUSH KARO CUSTOMER BANKE JAU KUIT BECHAO QSYEN POOCHHAO IDEAL LOGNA SART HO JAYEGA KISI KISI KO BOLTO NA JAH TUJAH BECHANESA DESERTS BEE BECHARA THA THIAK HAYA AUSKI LOYALTY POR AAPKU ITNA KASTAH TRUST HAYE TOO AAP GO KER SAKTAH WE WILL FOLLOW YOU we'll be there full time we know the markets the markets aren't concealed where these things happen when smuggling is sold out in Delhi that is where there goes you go you know intelligence gather you you you you you here's a question when everyone knows if you go to Delhi and go to Delhi you know where you kachya sona bikta hai to phir paka'd kini lhe te paka'dte hai dirae yahi kerti hai ab kachya sona yye itna nai ho ra kyunki hemesha smuggling tab ho tih hai jab bhaar ki tax rate me or yaha ki tax rate me farag ho that is the whole point ab agar rate hi berabar ho gaya ya government tax hi apna gama gaya to phir ho ghi nai ish liya hoi nai riyashkan us time per peak pe thai abhi gold smuggling kam ho gai koji tax rate me farag nai koji advantage nai yoh usko lana lumba advantage so you have to say India it's very easy you will tell where you get ganja where you get cocaine where you get xyz drugs they will tell they know they know so easily everyone knows revenue officers police officers ED CBI everyone knows where you get they don't get they don't get they don't get drugs are more open than anything in the country.
19:34But distribution channels no you want to have the guy who is distributing it. But what you buy will be guilty to be on the peddler. There will be some loss. If someone buys it, then it will be case. In NDPS, there is a quantity-wise punishment defined. If this gram is on the top of this thing, then it will be punishment. If this gram is on the top of this thing, then it will be fine and it will be penalty. It will be arrest. It will not be clearly defined. So the peddler is arrest. It will be can be done. Like, they will be trying to go after the big fish. And that's clear that distribution network disrupts not to do it.
20:20It will do it. It will do it. They are unemployed people who drug peddling to make it. So, they are not like that. Source can do it. Plug it. do that. That is a difficult job. You can't reach the source. You can reach it. You can reach it. You can reach it. You can reach it. It's not easy to do but yeah, they do that. But do you think the honest opinion is that all departments are doing very honestly to catch everything? Departments or the people in the departments? People in the departments. No. No. I mean, the question is, is corruption rampant? Corruption, yes, it is there. Very much there.
20:58Of course. it's there corruption in India is a big problem 100 % so people are corrupt and do it it's there and that's why because movies in dialogue if the police decide that it won't happen then the church won't be I mean exaggerated version of that but that's true if all IRS officers if they come to their own then the tax won't be won't be but then no business will not be able to do why do you say sir they will do it. That's the inspector. But the inspector will be more corruption. Yes, corruption will be more corruption. But if they want to control it, they can control it. They can, yes. The answer is yes.
21:39How much is the salary of an IRS officer? The same as for any group officer. Like this, tell me. It keeps changing. How much was it? When I quit, what was it? $5 ,000 ,000 salary. Straight up, you got a$5 ,000 ,000. Did you cut something? TDS. Okay. TDS. And after that, there are some perks? There are small perks. you get a uniform allowance you get telephone allowance you get a newspaper allowance a little bit and you get reimbursements and of course CGHS health and there is a component called HRA house rent allowance if you live in your home or live in your own accommodation then HRA will you get how much?
22:25it depends It's a portion of the How much is it? 20 ,000? 20 ,000? 1 ,500 ,000? Per month. I guess estimate Per month. And if you take government accommodation Then it will cut the salary from the salary. Okay. Extra not happen? No. So, if you have a DM So, if you have a DM So, if you have a house So, HR is cut. It will get the money So, HR is given. So, how big a house So, that is a good deal. So, IRS also gets such big houses? No. they don't because so the different places you will have more for the most part IRS wallet normally economically dense areas posted because of the nature of the job so infrastructure crunched typically
23:15how many people do you think customs how many people have many who are who are who are Officers, it's a very rough estimate. It's a very hard one. But I think that north of 60-70 % are corrupt and around 20-30 % are not corrupt. Not corrupt at all. 70 % are corrupt? I think so. Agreed. So, custom officers setting up? Customs are all. I mean, somewhere where something is worth enriching yourself, there is a PWD, a customer, no department, it means that there is only a customer. So, in the department, 70 % of people are like this. I mean, in the government, I think that cutting edge level, where people have interaction and where opportunity is, then there will be a good corruption.
24:1050 % of it will be over. That's my opinion. That's my opinion. And people, before the UPSC clear, I will tell you how it happens you basically clear because it doesn't happen at that time 99 % of people in mind that we will corruption. People are okay. Secure them, become them mostly driven by social status and to achieve. These are all very type A driven personalities which come there. It happens that first you realize that the system is very strict. Discretion is finished before. You think that there are rules. There are very well established rules. There are a very well-entered system which is not a problem.
24:58So, first, you don't have to be very much as usual.
25:04You don't have to be very much as usual. In your area, which you do, there are some places where you have appreciate ho ga but most of the cases status quo disturbed nahi karna hai that is the overall idea because governments are designed for stability most of the cases, bureaucracies are designed for stability disturb karo ga ya system bhi li hai aur disturb karna ga sense bhi nai hai kyunki democratic country hai aap nai manmarji se kuch bhi karna ni sakti ho, joh rules established hai vahi hai, toh pahle man mein bäťta hai dar it starts with fear aapki puri identity us ek tagline as-pas ben jati hai IES IES what you have you give this you talk more to you come happy new year sir because they know that will and if it will come that is the basic thing good works that is why everybody comes to you first of all and this whole everything around you including your own relatives will look at you that way you So you fear losing it.
26:10It starts with fear. Then comes greed. Slowly. You see society where it is going. You see, why can't I have it all? That is when people start slipping. And I've seen it, you know, with people. Very close. With 10 years ago. So this is the psychological progression. It's a good thing. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. You get to know. You know, so that is how it works. First fear, then it is entitlement, then it is greed. And once you are there, then the trap is dead, then the devil has you. Then now it's going to go. It's done, right? Because if you have done it once, once you have done it, once you have done it, once you have done it, once you have done it, then you can get it again.
26:56It can never come out. It has a tendency to suck you in deeper. And once you have done it, fear ends, right? Fear increases. No, no, diskutебhead.avors It's been taught the passion
27:20the passion and if you have a piece of paper, then you have to take it one or ten times? Yes. But in the corruption, at least, I have seen it. I have keenly observed. I have to do it. I feel like people are afraid. They are afraid. They are afraid. They are paranoid. They are afraid. And they are afraid. They are afraid. It is afraid.
27:40How much money is a customer officer or IRS can you be able to do it? No, I have heard weird numbers. What weird numbers? I have heard anywhere from 5 crores to 50 crores. And the head of something that is going to be not. Depends where it is. IRS what could be top position? ED? Top. IRS what could be top position typically in it is member of the board. of there are boards in India two boards in India one is the board of direct taxes one is the board of indirect taxes okay us board 5 people are 4 or 5 people are they are the boss they are the boss so the answer is the highest possible position is that but ED you become a chief of ED you can become the chief of ED which can be an IRS now you can't say it up because it is according to rank not according to power or perceived status you know ED who will be the chief of CBIC rank below that junior oh so the chair person is the bigger push yeah chair person senior head so the chair person can make up to 50 crores no no no that's not what I'm saying throughout the career if somebody is willing to be corrupt it is my estimate from what I have gathered across the years top level 50 crores that he can do it.
29:12I don't think that he can do it. He can do it. And I think that he can do it. Who is a very interesting question? In a chain of all officers, which position or which department is where the person can make maximum money? How to say because corruption involves… He can do it. He can do it. Because people in the department don't think that this is a golden opportunity. I think the land involved in the prices, they will be the most important thing. I'm not using my knowledge. As an IRS officer, I'm using my common sense only. But I think the land involved will be there. IS officers. Yes. So, they have the numbers.
29:56When you know that the IRS officers are getting paid, they are getting$100 crore, cash is coming out. There are cases, no? You know, I don't know how much cash,
30:08all those crazy cases have come. AIAS Office. If youve land giveatan Hirad a daily businessman that's why they must be doing a lot. You know construction will high not have where you have to buy ochre thenmaker premium would love opportunities by концеrasy would become custom bir niy nhiy neyena b ney ena b Customs, golden, or golden positioning got lost. I think that it is bad - Rough way. But as Ho commonly things that people know the same scrutiny happening every day every day as well, as a TVI is going to be one of the favourite customer in dejar andere people Know the cur volume happens?
30:57It's just suitable. The businessman is there. If he doesn't smuggling orединit declared in public then he might create a… So they and you need to go to me and get to know me. And the customer people need to go to the store and I'll go to the store. If it's corrupt, then everyone knows that it's a hot spot. That's why it's called the name of the name. That's why people get more than that. But volumes, I don't think so. But why are they scared the customer people? The moment you hear a customer's name, you think that's why you're scared. Who's the customer? Customs are like, people are scared. And if you listen to custom, if you import or export,

34:06risk management in which in which rate smuggling होने कि बढ़ जायश है किसमे rate की fluctuation है किसमे कुछ declare कर तो ज़्याद बढ़ जाएगा कुछ declare कर तो पता है उस system को वो flag कर देगा randomly कि यह इस पर यह चेक कर लो या इसकी 10 % की चेकिंग कर लो as a jaya ga aap ki screen pe to us case haap se haap kerta hai but 99 % is not touched no ya electronics me bhoot check kerte hai bhoot zhada check kerte hai electronics me to kyun kerte hai electronics normally tv bula raha baar se speaker bula raha baar se kuch hooga zaroor zaroor kuch hooga jhol hooga kuch tax there must be some loophole that can be exploited that is why this lhe ropta hai maybe I don't know I'm asking on behalf of all the people and the things that I've heard maina kiwi kiya nini aara aasa kuch kamsая you know I heard this you know I said I'm not thinking any electronics do the work that I haven't done to do 지 which I made you read custom so it's very rare to be close to mixer mixer to ask yourself that's very easy that's 10 ballet paper work you ask import-export agency go hire you can they can they can
35:23actuallyanç nothing nobody can can can do this. It's not that someone can do this. It's not that in our country. How easy it is to build a relationship with any officer? A bad relation of corruption. How to get them... Collusion. Technical word is collusion. Collusion. So, you can collude with them. Collude with them and do it. Is there any officer that you have to do a shady job? And now you can approach that officer? Not easy. approach for example if you are an officer and some business person comes to you and be like sir take money like my rank or UPSC rank you can't do this you can't do this you can't do this
36:13because you what so you are at a position let's say assistant commission start DKR state commissioner exactly so how do people superintendents, inspectors, cutting edge officers are much more engaged with the assistant which is in the office inside he will do his technical work he will do reporting higher management and the more you rise the more the distance from the cutting edge increases so we are talking hands on corruption this will be lower levels okay this is not from top levels very rare if you have a top level, it will go very big if you have something to do, then you will do it and that will also be a risk for you a very big container type that you will be able to do it no container level, no no commissioner, you will go and say that you have a wrong job, you will leave very rare, you will do it openly, you will do it and there are also people who don't have to do it that you will do it I will do it, I will do it corruption, you will not do it someone has said that anyone has tried to do it approach to you sir I will take a bribe and do something yes what was the scene the scene was that I was assistant commissioner deputy commissioner of industrial area in Harana and there footwear footwear park there was excise GST and there were very big manufacturers and there was an association that was the association head political figure not very well known but well known that he is associated with the political party and everything so there was a rule which people didn't follow anywhere in the country rule was that if you make a particular amount of a juta or a chuppal then you would embossed to be a MRP this rule was that it was very important significance embossed to be 12 % but not 6 % was a difference and there were some reasons that they would not embossed they were not following that rule and that rule should follow everyone should have to go to exemption and they were making exemption so we decided that something should have to do I discussed with my superiors so we did a job we did a notification and we told them to be told that this rule we should have to do it we don't have to do it then we do a place we search we start to start that we are tight then we have to then we have to
39:16Then the whole group came. to me. Okay. And they said, sir, you're very much power. How will it work? So, you tell me how to do it, sir. I said, I tell you how to do it. I knew how to do it. We told you how to do it. Embossing it. Embossing it. Embossing it. Rubber it. It's necessary. You don't know how many issues are in India. So, I said, no, sir. It's a way to do it. You tell me how to do it. I said, I don't want to do anything. I said, I don't want to do anything. I said, you don't want to do anything. You should do anything. You should do anything. But do it. Because everyone knows. If you have a short cut, I said, you should go.
40:05But yes, the scene was this. Political pressure is created. Where is the quality pressure? No. No, because if you take a technical thing, what can you do with political pressure? That's why IERS is not going to do political pressure. Okay, IERS is not going to do it. But is it possible that you are stuck in politics or political pressure? In the IRS? No, I mean, you don't get to be able to increase in promotion or transfer. You mean internal politics? Politicians. Politicians were rare. once we conducted a raid on a cricketer's brothers factory very famous big cricketer which was raid away and that happened then raid on the first one a bit out our friends have told us but the phone came to commissioner that we said that we didn't have then we had raid so we got obviously but this is the fact that was out of the way the first time.
41:10Why did Intel get the rate? Taxi juries are cutting in the dirt. They are cutting in the dirt. They are awaiting excise duty. We did not find anything much. How much black money will be in India today? Hard to say. But I can feel and I can deduce that all of it is in either real estate and a small portion of it is in cryptocurrency. but the rest of the day where are you where are you everybody everyone is doing up cash very low anyone look at up cash gold cash stack it is very stupid to do that you will park it rate process what happens because direct rate you can't first scrutiny survey what happens you need to collect intelligence intelligence and whatever you have done correct premise को किसी की भी business premises पे घर के premises पे नहीं जा सकते जब तक एक senior very senior officer does not sanction it कि ठीक है यह rate आप कर रहे हो आप कर लो additional commissioner rank से कम का officer नहीं होता जो sanction करता है उस paper को search warrant बनता है फिर search warrant पे भी वो sign करेगा खुद search warrant ले के अपने हाथ में you have to show that the search warrant is authority and you have to cooperate then you do it the first thing you do is you go for the data tax cases obviously go for the laptop understand and see if you can find it it was not you go for the data and then you take the data you hardly ever find anything on the spot now yeah later then there
43:05have this's witnesses
Many people have friendship with the central excise officers or the GST officers. And they have been like competitors for 12 years. This happens, right?
44:05That if someone is a big player, they can't be big enough. Informants. Proper informants for the rule is that there are informants. There are informants for the money. Informants for the form is that you can become informants. And whatever recovery you will get, you will get a reward. What is the matter? So, I become informant for example. Your information is credible, good, action is done, something is left, then you will reward. How much? It depends. It is written. It is different. It is very informant. It is very informant. It is very good. Government has a fund. But many people what do they do?
44:46Which I know of few people. That they are a leader in industry. In confectionery industry in confectionery industry. So, confectionery king is XYZ city or XYZ state now they have a big empire now they have small players and they have to go to China and they have to take machines and they have to start and they have to go to players so they have to go to 255 players who will use their friends they will use their friends excise officers, commissioner, assistant commissioner and they will finish their rate and they will finish their rate harassment if a small player is not wrong then they will increase their rate kan
45:43he is a double-edged sword. Then they are. And those who are not friends, by nature, bureaucrats and civil servants are posting on the one. One will go, another will go, another will go, another will go. It is not easy to court rise and actually make a syndicate. That is the nature of the whole thing. So if you are doing it, you need to have very good reasons and you need to know what you are doing. I am sure if someone does it, then it will do it. And if the government is getting a legitimate tax and is getting a legitimate recovery, So why not do that? So you can make it for informants. One thing that you can do.
46:18Rate is a big politician. So a big business man can get a tip. Sometimes. So who does it? It's your own officers. It's your information. Where will it go? And the government is a glass house. You talk about accountability and transparency. And that's the accountability and glass house. You need a secrecy. That doesn't happen. every thing is decided on file and unless the whole organization is about secrecy just raw IP where I'm sure leakages will be but tax department which is so open where is the issue of secrecy is very difficult do it but people are not but you can see that you have a position and you have thought that you have to rate you have to tell the end you have to tell the end you have to tell the permission you have to tell the report you have to tell the end
47:41therefore you must pass the псих Quad 2012 like GST intelligence agency and customs intelligence these are proper intelligence agencies in their secrecy is very important mainly but normal commissioner type situation is very likely and what type business is most attractive or GST officer or IT officer attractive So, if you think of 10 businessmen, all tax jury are doing, 1 crore does not work, 1 10 crore does not work, 1 100 crore does not work. So, obviously, 100 crore is more attractive. But if someone is a good GST officer, revenue officer, then you think what is the issue? Because if someone is a 100 crore and if there is an issue, then you can see that there are 100 like 100 people, so 100 into 100 will go.
48:33If I made a good case, then you understand? If I actually find a fault and that 100 crore people who have searched and they admit that it was now they have taxed voluntarily so the rest of the people who do it the whole industry is in the same way and the market practices are in the same way that would be the exciting that would be a big big player it's not big issue a small player is the issue which is the whole country for instance that would be isn't it like the bigger player it is probably
49:10I don't think I don't think 100-200 crore 500 crore I don't think So it's how many connections Politicians are All that
49:22All those words Yeah It's all that It's all that It's all that So it's So it's So it's So it's Catch the 10 crore One It's It's It's It's It's Depends Depends Depends But I think That calculus Can go on in the mind of people جو وہاں پر جائیں گے decide کریں گے جانا نہیں جانا is it too dangerous but like I said آپ کہیں جائیں نہیں سکتے اگر آپ جا رہے ہو بنا کسی warrant کے تو first of all آپ کی مرضی maybe you are going for the mit high مجھے نہیں پتا آپ بھی کو جاری ہوگی mit high پھر تو اگر ایسے جارے ہوگا اور اگر آپ نیچے sign کر رہا کے جارے ہو تو case بنا کے جاؤ گا پکا یہ تو nook نہیں جائے گی آپ کی case پکا بنے گا BNAKE JAUGHEY, AAPKKO PATA CHALGIA HAYA Kİ WAH TİN LOK KARTA HAYAN, WAH TİN MENSE RAID EK KU MARA SAKTE HAYO NU MAN POWER SHORTAGE A GERAID EK KU MARA SAKTE HAYA THO OBVIOUSLY BADAYE BAALE KU MARA HOGAE KYUNKI AAPKA KAM HAYA REVENUE OFFICER YOU TITU A DUTY TO GET MORE REVENUE FOR THE GOVERNMENT Is it more difficult to raid politicians?
50:16Raid politicians? Haan, politicians raid garna difficult hota है Yes, there are repercussions obviously JOO BHI USKI VOTEGA, JYADA SCRUTINY MANGAGA you can gauge if you or are being caught back in disguise but hanger if you are not wrong urgent particularly democrat too
50:35but if you organize a 25 % everybody knows everybody definitely everybody knows every although you work but if you do if you already I can tell you I'm sure So now, I don't know about big towns, but in small and small ... What you mean? If you know what it means, what evidence means? Everyone keeps個人 look at it. It comes from what things are lit here, it goes from what things are lit. It looks like your travel travels in a Binx. Where do you know what about Bill? They have χeders, traded man, up with the altogether journalists. chal raha hai, woh hai politician, lakin us kya chit hai. White hai ki black hai thanda?
51:27Galat hai hai, ya thik hai. Kya woh tax division kar raha hai, yaa akko kisai pata? Agar aapko ye pata hai. Dekho, kya pata ki, jyise aap sumjhou, I say other areas bata ho bhi, mahi, mahi gada priyag raj. Thik hai. To whahan phe mein kisii bande se mila, joh mujhe UP ke gauon ke baare hai bata raha tha. XYZ party ke bande se. Independent koji hai ansan. Toh bata raha tha ki us area mein Um Kisiki bhi bus Nahin jasakti Us politician ki bus Travel company kya laava Um Plus Pure Us ke as pas Ke jitnye district nye Sub jaghe Agar rate hai 10 rupaya Um To us wali Jaghe se jitnye bus jayegi Unka hai 15 rupaya Monoplease katsura Or ye 5 rupaya extra Us ke ghar jayega Baki udhar den Jatiri Yer kaisa bata us Ho ki us ke ghar jayega Ho jayake dene raya Nenay politician ki hi chalati Na to politician ke paas hi jayega No Monoplease katsura Cartilize hiy katsura
52:25that is a very good target for a tax rate
52:43whenever it comes to light whatever comes to light at least I would have done my job on file, on paper I raised it it is possible but then if he says something no approval then he will have to write some reasons and like how it happens openly people know where it happens so if many small businessmen if they have then why not we can't AD's work it's like they have they have 2-3 channels will go and two-three channels will be there. I will tell you one more interesting thing I will tell you. Of course, Dubai and some places are hot destinations. Our department is called some postings and they call coin postings.
53:33Coin is not the word coin. It's an acronym. And I'm not exactly sure what it is. But there are people who are posted abroad. And they have the work that is the thing. So, there is intelligence that comes and where the system is acted yeah I mean Indians are buying property so there are agreements between governments which I can see Indian government if you cooperate then you know you can send information so what can I do politics how influence politicians on the entire system that you can get to the politician and keep friends this is not what you can do this is take Trustee to have a deal and we will Googlesomething to pay with tax access consumers they will notинг that when he Gifts talks on a paper on a account not Jones on a company is this bread
54:37it will
54:42not see he he करेगा न कोई, तो complaints तरह ऐसे नहीं एक लेटर नहीं करेगा, वो CBI, PMO, हर जगा जाएगा वो email, CCO के. ओ, ऐसे network मन के actually rates आती है? हाँ, that is one way, CP grams बोलते हैं उसको, complaints of the government are going into a central portal for CP grams, अगर आपको कोई corruption पर complaint करनी है, CP grams डालो, वो PMO or whatever the central nodal authority is, there will be flag that comes from every place, and you will know that status is given by what happened. If you are doing something, or you are exposed to someone, or you are complaining, then you are complaining every place.
55:21CBIC's chairperson, finance secretary, finance minister, PMO, CBIC. They will see emails. They will see emails. There are dedicated portals for this. They will be seen. And then they forward that to relevant department. It works. It works. If it's a legitimate complaint, it will come to that place. I got it. But it's something to do. It's something to do with one email. It's possible. There are chances. There are probability. We can see it. Ignore it. And then we can add an email. If there's actually something. If anybody has something, then they should inform the government. Actually, if you have paper or email, then it's difficult to ignore it.
56:04true एक officer के अद assistant commissioner कमिशनर के पास कितने power होते हैं what is a power बहुत clearly defined power होते है example मैं आपके बताता हूँ कि अगर आप एक आप एक revenue commissioner हो ठीक है और अब आपके पास कोई एक XYZ business है ठीक है जिसी का भी सामने आले हो तो आप किया चाए powers. What can you do with business? You can do revenue commissioner suppose, customs. Yeah, GST. A area commissioner will be I assume. Circle is division. You can do a area which you can do a commissioner. If you have a commissioner then you can do additional commissioner. Additional commissioner joint commissioner deputy assistant commissioner superintendent inspector and other people are your organization.
56:54machine. You will be working as GST Commissioner to make sure that you have to know GST who are who are the highest taxpayers? You will be working on very big taxpayers. Is there any trouble? Is there any facilitation? Is there any harassment? If someone has a revenue dip, why is it? This is your job. Then, in your whole area, there will be a case. Suppose, suppose, if a particular value, monetary value defined alone is the upper one, then you decide to have a little bit. If it is a little bit in the bracket, then you have to have a additional commissioner to have a decision to have a decision.
57:37But there are some kind of cases that you decide to have and that you will not do it. So this is the direct power. Customs commissioner for example, there is power to define the customs area. that this is a custom area. There are many powers that are on the way. But it is all for mostly for enforcement.
57:58But let's say that any business has nothing wrong. It's all. It's all. It's all. How much power do you have to accuse us? I think plenty. We say that you have. What power? Give me step by step that I can raid and I can't leave it. I can't do it. Whatever. What is it? Yeah. So if you if you haven't seen it, personally, I've seen it after that, but if there's a hypothetical case, it's after that. So what can they do? They can start investigating them. Okay. You can get some mistakes, you can get extra audits to get them, so that you can get delays, you can get them, and you can get them. And what can they do?
58:38Rate, you can get 3-4 days in a month. Rate, you can get something to do. Informant said, where news comes, a ھائی کسی نے intelligent دیا ہو تو کیا کتنا مان لیا کر سکتا ہے rate کر سکتا ہے rate پڑھا کے رکوا دیا then اس کی ساری files confisciate ہو گئی اس files کو اب چھڑوانے میں تم اس کا کوئی mall seize کر دیا کہ میرے کو جب تک اس کی میں counting نہیں کرتا clear نہیں کرتا تب تک کے لیے mall seize رہے گا تو 10-15 دن تمہارا وہ mall ہٹ گیا machine seize چلو machine کے اوپر seizeer لگا دیا 15 دن کے لیے machine نہیں روک دی گیا تو nya بھی نہیں بنا سکتا It is possible کہ یوں extreme case میں but if you will be so openly victimized, then you will be complaints.
59:17Instantaneously. And complaints strong will be. And if you will see it. If you are commissioner, you will be a chief commissioner. You will be a chairperson. You will be a finance secretary. You will be a finance minister. You will be a prime minister. And side of the CBI is. There are many people who are looking for what is the government power. You will see. There will be a scrutiny. That they will drop upset so you have the tension there твержr niet it is lasting its true That is true for anybody from whose power would be but if you don't have to dirty i don't do this then you don't do this and if someone is correct someone wants to write it then you don't need to then you can do this I have heard one thing when Customs got cargo one on a smugler has said randomly smuggler was a smuggler or what was not but he was like a shady character he said customs is like what you do
1:00:24that was a metaphor the money you have taken you have to buy it you have to buy it you have to buy it you have to buy it you have to buy it so just as you say a small business owner and that small business owner works for 10 crore and he shows ен 1 crore ka kama kata ho wau 9 crore ke oopper na GST berta hai usse joseki income bantti uske oopper income tax bhi nhi berta hai kira dhikha nhi sakta wau paisa wau aapne paas rakhta hai chupa ke ki ab wau kisizun pagda a gaya phir to uspe government kya karegi jose 9 crore na uska sal ka sal ka aray mtlap main to ekdem random example dhe raha 10 crore usne kama lye life 10 crore kama lye chalo haasal ussal ka 10 crore turn over government ke baas power hai pichlye 5 sal tuk lye ja sakti okay if it feels like a willful suppression means this is traveling for knowledge it's not LOK ambiguity confusion it's not ok which small Facebook have that mülkill mindset the government ever will do that just by it exists
1:01:31so ctna three cent goonah hojaega 300 % 3 goonah 11 crore rakhlo 10 crore ka easy math hojaega 10 crore rakhlo 20-30 crore ka show cause notice benjaega aapka 10 crore 2 crore rupiah और 20 crore rupiah और अगर चलो नहीं bharo 20 crore to नहीं करे तो फिर वो property attached hojaegi जो भी properties है सब चलेगा उसने बोला कि भाई यही है मेरे नाम पर okay bye So, it happens to be insolvency. So, it's a deal. But it's not a jail. So, if you have 20 crore, the government has to harass himself and recover from 7-8 crore. So, it's going to go. There is a settlement commission also for it. There are high stakes.
1:02:18And the government doesn't want to get a point. Policy is not to do litigation. You can go there and get a compromise and get a amount. You can save it and get it. So, it's a settlement. so 20-30 crore that's what he said I have 2 crore and now 20-30 crore so it's 10-12 crore settlement it can be depending on the case and if insolvency so who who who who director or sole proprietor or partner whatever who who cases are the person who who goes who goes what is the company structure is LLP private limited proprietorship companies act 3-0, tell us. 3-0, tell us. You have to see that law is constantly evolving also.
1:03:03Because every time, law is constantly evolving. But the Supreme Court is also the ruling. So it is always evolving. You have to update. But if you have a basic, what happens in my podcast? There are many family business owners. There are many small business owners. They are watching MSME. And they like when I talk to IIS officers and IPS officers, IRS officers about country in the country in the country what can we do can we do that's why I'm asking for just out of all the comments that we've gotten
1:03:38ڈیمانڈ بن جائے گی اور اس سے زیادہ problematic یہ ہے کہ harassment ہوگی پریشان ہو جاؤ گے کوٹ کے چکر کاٹ کاٹ کے 8-8-10-10 سال کیس چلتے ہیں ٹنگے رہتے ہیں lawyer کرو گے lawyer کو پیسے دو گے کوٹ کی dates لگیں گی کوٹ کی dates میں adjournment ہوں گی اپنا case بناتے رہو گے لڑتے رہو گے اور ہم سارا time by the way balance sheet in your potential liability 10 crore you know I had a idea SIM card so I had 5-6 number so I said sir I will give you all numbers I said sir I can't give you how I can give you dollars I will give you what I said what I said what what I mean what what I said 50 dollars I have got a$50.00.
1:04:28You have to give them a$50.00. You have to give them a sign for a$50.00. That's a sign for a$50.00. Then you have to import a family. This is step one for the economic offenses. Fake$50.00. You should have to buy it wrong. Importer and exporters do this regularly. But if you have blatantly a mobile system, you can buy me. I am so scared. Because if he tells me that that I give you a SIM card and I don't know what to do. So probably I'm going to get stuck. But as I said, fake, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I think I'm a little bit like a normal number. I don't need to go away. Right? Because that's like first, you know, why do I study?
1:05:12Right, right. But if you get 50 ,000 people, you're getting what are you doing? I'm sure, 1000 people are doing what are you doing? It's a lot of stuff. Data privacy is not anything. So, 50 ,000 people have got a card. That's why you opened a company. and you can make fake invoices. I've seen that people are very high in the loophole. You can see, there are new engineers who are looking for smuggling. It's going to be running. If you're making fake invoices, making adharkart, which company you're giving, which company you're giving, which company you're giving, which company you're giving, which owners you're giving?
1:05:44Yes, if someone's in the chain, and if someone's in the front, who doesn't know that it's fake, but if someone's in the right, if someone's in the right, mastermind, तो वो पूरा ही चेन ही फेक होगी पट पैसा लेने वाला end में तो कोई तो बेनिफिशिरी होगा तो वो तो पकड़ा जाएगा निकल जाएगा वो अपनी कंपनी बंद करके कुछ समय तक करेंगे पिर कंपनी बंद करेंगे which I have given you. Okay. So, I have bill. I have bill. I have 18 % of GST. I have 18 % of GST. So, I have government. Yeah, I have to take it. Or, I have to take it. Offset. Bunch it is. 18 % direct. Yeah, yeah. Bunch it is. That's it. So, if I have my company 18 % bunch it will be.
1:06:40For example. So, government I have to take it. I have to take it. If you have legitimate business and you have to take it. And you have to take it. 18 % of your business. but some people think business is the same thing that you have to play 18 % and you have to do nothing that is what they that is the whole game that is what you are giving the same thing that you receive that is also fake books are running in books people have done that so tax refunds people have done that and how many crores can you do it many hundreds of crores i don't know the exact number many hundreds of crores. Crazy. This is People do that.
1:07:15People do that in customs also. People do that in income tax also. Take your case this I was seeing that fake refund scam 800 crores when we got 2017. Fake drawback. Yes. IRS officers. This is one of the customs. A group of IRS officers and chartered accountants were found running a fake refund scam where they filed fraudulent tax returns on behalf of fake companies and siphoned over 800 crores and fake refunds before being caught. Same models of brandy. So, this IRS officer has been charged accounts and got it. So, how do you get it? It will get it. No one knows what happens. How do you get it?
1:07:53Jealousy. Oh, the other one. Jealousy. It will happen again. Someone will have something to do. Someone will realize. Because there is a choice. If you have 4 people, you don't know who is going to choose. jori kar raha hai. Why are you greedy why are you greedy? What stopped you? Why are you greedy why are you greedy? How easy it is to get out of here. You see in front of yourself you were talking about this was my friend this was my friend this was my friend this was my friend first of all the reaction from inside body is disgust instinctively that is because of the upbringing that is what it is in mind why do I do it and I have played sports all my life I don't like that it disgusts me it irritates me and I think I mean I don't have a good Ijjat nije kya?
1:08:39Kud ki kud ki kui self respect nije kya? Bhe, akar aap lete ho kisi se besharmu ki tira koji TV woh čar logan ko ja ke bulega. Mänen usko to set kar dhi a. I cannot tolerate that. Akar kabhi ho gaya toh dupke marunua. Self respect khatam. Self respect. That's my bar also. That's why we were starting and talking about value driven content. Ki koji I mean, aap log is min toh bhot high hota hai. But in me, ki koji mera content dekke that disgusts me it's a lot of it's a lot of it's a lot of bad like that's just yeah he's making fun for views he started selling his soul for views so that like it disgusts I can't win see if you're guilty of it and then then it's justified but if somebody is just saying it out of spite.
1:09:38So, people will forget something. And I think they will say something. If someone says something, if someone says something, then I can't sleep today. Because I don't know what I've done. So, if there are 4 haters going on, then it will work. No problem. But, when I will do it, and then someone will give it, then I will know that it's not reality. Then, it will be difficult to sleep. So, I don't want to know that I need to sleep. So, there is a strong feeling of disgust. And, there is a lot of, third class chish morning isn't지는 ch vulgar means a little to as little to to next life worth living of life life least in our business future which can authentic and will走 matin soon when you when you you will win in the end it's a very long term because reputational damage is very bad so you think how to run 10, 20, 25, 40 and you win like will you retire as a winner or no that's a question 2022 McCown winner 25 McCown winner 27th winner do you retire as a winner that's a question and the one who will retire as a winner will be the one that is a long legacy game so for that you have to think long term you can't think you can't take a short cut absolutely you have to do it and that I think anybody who is literally putting ourselves out there all the time you know I think you don't do it you don't do it you don't do it you don't do it you don't do it you remain behind the scenes you don't do it openly camera and showing content I think you should appreciate that ability because it is not easy it is painful and breaking barriers daily always you are scared the nervousness never disappears you know that I mean who am I to tell you but it's there and I think that requires a fundamental level of integrity you cannot become a true content creator if you are completely fake.
1:12:01Do you think you live so much and live in the people and live with people and sit with people do you think that the new generation has a problem with corruption is not to corrupt for any reason is there any personal principle or is there not the same thing that you have to do will do it No, human nature will not change generation to generation I think No? No, I don't think so Human nature won't change but there might be a feeling of more pride and I think I think that they are a little westernized. They expect a certain level. They are growing up a certain level. I don't think that they are degrading.
1:12:38Corruption is more appealing. Because it is less than that. And we don't celebrate the corrupt in our country. We throw stones at them. And everyone knows that it's a deterrent effect. So I think that it's not okay. It's positive. A lot of Indians are leaving India. you see 4 ,300 people who were millionaires ultra-achines were left in India in 2023 in 2022 and more then in 2024 I think 4 ,300 and in 2023 I think 5 ,000 something they are optimizing for I think stress, lifestyle and quality of life if you have money and you can afford what do you do quality of life up to be understanding what will you do you will do you will do you will do you will do 10 years you will what will what is the price for 8 years of moral life and existence I know you are attached real attachment and I think that opportunities are also very agreed it's good that we should talk about how to solve the real issues but But I've gotten opportunities to shift to certain countries and all.
1:14:00Quality of life is here. It's just that you'll enjoy it. I mean, quality of life is here. Because I want to stay here. I don't want to stay outside. I'm so attached to India that I can't go out. You tell me, starting America versus India is corruption. Is there America also corruption? Of course. How is that corruption? What is the difference between India and America? I think on the level of America, corruption happens at the higher level. where you can directly influence policy lobbying we say it okay lobbying we do seriously we do seriously okay legally I think I think I think the narrative is that the corruption is so brilliantly craft that you can't know that you can't that you can't explain I'll tell you one example is the gun control over there now gun control is that you can't go to the cell phone can you buy it?
1:14:55What argument is that? Because people are killing it, mass shootings are still there, people are randomly, if someone is crazy, you can't be a threat, because you have to get a gun, you will get a gun. Why is it happening? Guns are big. It's a billion dollar industry. Who is doing it? There is a rifle association, which is a gun manufacturers, a legitimate lobby. What is the argument? The argument is, A well-armed populace is the best defense against tyranny. Idea is that America is built on the concept of freedom. It's the land of the free and the brave. We don't trust the government entirely.
1:15:37If the government has a weapon and if the government is against us, then who will save us? And it's a capitalist country. Private property is my right. My human right is to defend it. that is my right. It is a hardcore debate. We won't be able to defeat it. Human rights or mass shootings debate. It's a solid argument. Solid arguments. That's how real corruption is done. That is the beauty of it. You can't just do away with it and just rubbish it. It doesn't work that way. There is corruption but at a big level. Must level. It's not direct I think this type of petty corruption is less than that.
1:16:26I have heard cases. In Canada also I have heard cases. I don't hear from the hair. There is a little bit of a inspector that has said that you have a little bit of a health. There is a little bit of corruption. But at the higher level, I think that is the real game. Which happens there for sure that we know. Here to what extent I don't know. What was the biggest problem in the country? Chaos. Chaotic. sense in your direction, line, dungse. Structures, our systems are now made. It's a lot of chaos. It's a very big country. It's a lot of people. It's a lot of use cases. It's not easy to govern a country uniformly and it's not easy to run in a direction.
1:17:03I think the biggest problem in our country right now is chaos because of its scale and its complexity. Chaos complexity is one thing. Chaos and complexity are a lot of level in our country. There are borders. There are enemy states. There are as-pass diversity he is saying but everyone wants to move in a direction so many people so many empires have come and tried and failed and by some miracle it is happening it is a crazy country I must I always do appreciate it I mean you will not be surprised in our country you will be surprised it is not for beginners it's a crazy country and you get to learn a lot but the the width of things you can do and the width of things you can do i think you're talking about unfiltered things you have seen a lot tell me what is the most unfiltered india most unfiltered thing that i have seen in governance in india is that those civil servants for the most part are a combination of intelligence and cowards intelligence and cowardice intelligence because of the situation and the restrictions and the overall suffocating hierarchy of the government and the dangers are the cowardice and that is I think the fundamental fact of which we talk about that in India why is the corruption and why is the ease of doing business why is the root cause it starts with the root cause that is people are scared so 7-7 also is scared the people who are scared of general citizens are also scared the citizens are scared of them they are scared of them they are scared of them there is fear fear is power that fear is standing in society losing you have too much to lose if you are a civil servant too much to lose suppose if you have a public CBA raid and you have to get wrong then you have to get wrong your reputation your life is good you are giving the courage, you are giving the courage, you are giving the high hello, you are giving the salute, you are giving the courage, because you are your identity, your identity is formed, that's gone.
1:19:25You have too much to lose. If you lose that job, you lose your identity. You lose everything. You lose everything. This was the question that I had to face. If I leave this, who am I? It's a big question, no? Why did you leave it? I was not fit for it. I was not ready for it. many reasons the biggest reason is it's a desk job technical work I had one posting which was actually on the ground and was actually on the ground and was really fun and it's a completely technical and desk job rule oriented work for me it wasn't suited to my personality for me I was clear I was clear but I didn't leave it because society doesn't leave it I didn't leave it I had to really work a lot the past 3 years before I quit I had to work my head off.
1:20:13I got lucky during COVID. I got to get a job of doing my work. I wrote a book before. I wrote a book before. I wrote a book before. I wrote a book for UPSC aspirants. I wrote a book for them. I wrote a book for them. They reached their writing. It was just before COVID. It was percolated. Then I realized I need to teach. I went to YouTube. YouTube was only a classroom for me at that time. You can have a full platform. class you can do it it was growing COVID it was growing and it was growing and it was growing and it was growing and then I realized that this is something I can actually do and then I had that comparison leverage and that comparison privilege also I could feel that it was fun and it was more and there was more and there were skills that I can't deploy and there was no meaning extra creativity content creation you cannot do you can't do it doesn't mean so I knew that I was not the best nahi been around.
1:21:10Yeh, this is what I was built to do. That feeling I started to get. And then more and more feedback, you know, when you are interacting with people, you know what you do. You get to know. And then there came a time when you had to do Aria-par. You could not have done both things. It was not possible. So then I took the leap and then I resigned. So why is this UPSC obsession in our country? For good reason, heyer. Like people are obsessed. If you say that you leave your desk job is not for me, this is not for me. why is that obsession but the two things are very important it's great we need good people in our system and we change it it's great but just random obsession random obsession no because I was I.R.S.
1:21:58and because I had exam cleared I had a luxury I had a thought if there was a fight survival so this is not a societal jump in the end in the end in a normal person. It is that platform. It will just catapult you to that different level. What do you know? How do you do it? Entrepreneurship in the world is where the platform is robust that there is a lot of leverage. Orbiter change is not happening in our country. It is the thing. It gives security and stability. It's reached. One time you have been blessed now. Now you can think higher. But if you're doing this without clearing it, then it would be stupid.
1:22:38I've been stupid. But that's the honest truth. Orbital change, like, that's true. I've seen it. I've seen it. I've seen it. Then after that stage, you're basically bureaucrats. Big, big, big, big, more and more file work, more and more reporting, more and more meta-level policy making, less and less actual action. But that is not what I wanted at all. Why would anybody just pushed themselves into content creation and entrepreneurship there was a real aptitude yeah yeah a pull this is more difficult and it's everyday and that's a stable government job it was not an easy decision because here there's no security no as we have seen if you go to any government job then pressure happens pressure happens you have to do a lot work life balance doesn't happen day-night you work hard, you do a lot.
1:23:35Technically, your life is only a job. The same thing is entrepreneurship in your job. But in government job, then you have security. You will get what you get today. And like I say, you can't get the money. But government, the might of the state behind you, that's a big force. And you also get the security and status. that you get that the joh ek IA software ko status milta hai wo koi entrepreneur koi content creator koi kwee ko kuch aisa bhi nilta uske samanen e kratty var nilta shahhi bata hai humare dhish mein hierarchy hai simple si bata hai it is a fact and nobody likes to hear it hierarchy mein sab se oopar politicians or power players hai civil servants hai power hai unke paas raw and added power rakhate hai uske niche jahate hai business mein Do you think politicians are on the top of the business?
1:24:31In terms of power, in terms of exploitation of power? Exploitation of power? Obviously, the main bread and butter is power. No, sir. Let's say, chief minister is more powerful or the richest man in the state is more powerful? Chief minister. Are you sure? Can't be sure. It would depend from case to case. But on a typical aggregate… How close is the businessman to the chief minister also matters a lot. Could be. Could be. I mean they're both very powerful I guess but the chief minister is dealing with pure power like I said might of the state and the legal authority he has whatever legal authority he has businessmen will be underoperated that state laws can a richest man in the country be more powerful than a chief minister of a state yeah so then richest man can be but these are exceptions we can't make good models if you compare only exceptions so no here are let's say there are 29 chief ministers right yeah 30 chief 29 right let's say for example i'm just making it up 50 chief ministers of 50 top politicians in the country 50 top businessmen in the country politicians have more power yes and not only because of the the family of politicians cabinet and pm i'm not talking anyone has a lot of power as a politician nature business man in his category in his niche in his industry in his expert he will be shrewd he will be smart he will be intelligent he will be a survival fighter he will be everything politicians by virtue of their work their emotional intelligence is on this level cannot beat them they are not stupid and they can understand and influence people that is the foundational skill of a politician he is his power It is pure power on its own.
1:26:22You can't compete with that. I think. Fair. Well, perfect. That answers almost all my questions. Thank you so much. I saw that clip of you were saying you came and you started with 70 ,000. This is very inspirational, man. You do not know how much I am inspired by you. Really? Yes. Thank you. It means a lot. No, no. You are the pinnacle. As far as I am concerned. if I ever become a real competitor to you that will be success I don't think we can ever be competitors I generally see zero competitors really? competition competition for losers I don't believe in it it's a lot of collaborative and I feel together we should grow thank you so much for watching this podcast till the end now you have to do three things first of all this channel to subscribe number two comments in the comments tell us who are guests and who are topics which you want to make a podcast and you will get better help and value and number three this episode must have to share this episode in which life will be a positive change which will help this podcast conversation after listening because one conversation is enough to change someone's life I'll see you next time until then keep figuring out.

In this episode, Ravi Kapoor, a former IRS officer, reveals how suspicious passengers are actually picked at airports, why gold is the most smuggled item, and how drugs often slip through undetected unless you're lucky or have strong intelligence. He shares shocking stories, from gold hidden inside ice machines to ingested drug pellets that sometimes burst and kill the carrier.
We talk about corruption inside the system, how it begins, where it thrives (especially in land dealings), and why even honest businessmen fear customs officers.
In the last segment, we discuss fake invoices and hawala, the real powers of an IRS officer, and why officers sometimes raid politicians at their own risk. We also get into the deeper questions, why Indians are obsessed with UPSC, whether today’s youth are more ethical, and the real reason so many are leaving India.
