In short

Degree vs skills in India’s education-to-employment pipeline, focusing on ROI, placements, long-term growth, and real-world outcomes. The episode argues that “degree-only” thinking is outdated, but also that college is crucial for certain lab-based and credential-gated fields. It also warns against glorifying dropouts based on social-media success stories.

Guests

Arpit Agrawal, Vice Chairperson of JECRC University. He discusses university education as an “ecosystem” (controlled laboratory) that builds confidence, leadership, communication, and learning agility—beyond classroom learning.

Key claims

  1. Opportunity cost matters: college can waste ~4 years of peak age unless it provides an entrepreneurial/industry ecosystem.
  2. Initial job pay may be similar for degree vs skill paths, but college adds soft skills and adaptability; skills alone can add employability faster in some areas.
  3. Dropout advice should be treated cautiously: many followers lack the conviction, backup, and ecosystem that successful entrepreneurs had.
  4. College “wins” for lab-based programs (e.g., sciences, mechanical/CNC, medicine/healthcare) and for industries with credential gatekeeping.

Notable examples

  • Hotel management: tied to India’s tourism; includes a 4-year degree and hospitality training (e.g., butler-level service).
  • Editing as a skill: examples of editors hired at 40,000–50,000 INR/month after learning online.
  • Kanika Mittal (JECRC, 2021 graduate): placed at Microsoft with ~51 lakh INR package; cited as a social-impact story from Sawai Madhopur.
  • Placement/earnings ballparks: engineering fees ~2.5 lakh/year (total ~10 lakh tuition; ~15 lakh with hostel/transport), with “50%” getting ~5–8 lakh and “25%” getting ~10–15 lakh.

0:00Do the degree is worth or not? How many startups are there in the country and how many of them are college dropouts? Number is low. So, see Raj, words like dropouts being glorified. Please don't do that. I tell you why. If he is today's youth, he would listen to some successful entrepreneur saying college degree is absolute nonsense. He is saying it when he becomes successful. He didn't dare to say it when he was struggling. Today we are with Arpit Agrawal, Vice Chairperson of JECRC University. In this episode, we have evaluated the debate on the 10 parameters of degree versus skills, such as return on investment, placement, long-term growth and real-world outcomes.

0:40If you want better clarity and education, then watch this episode to end. 18-22, highest energy, your life is the most premium time. You have to go to college and waste 4 years. So earlier education used to be degree centric, now it is knowledge centric. If education does not provide entrepreneurial ecosystem, please do not enter. Which disciplines do you have to learn from college? Hotel management offers fantastic careers and a lot of new kids are looking at hotel management because India as a country is a very big base of our tourism. And the kind of expansion the hotel industry is having across all the states.

1:19The highest number of graduates will come in which degree? 60 And how much money will people be? 2.5 lakh rupees for a year So, in 4 years, you will have 10 lakhs. How much time will this be? 50 % of the graduates will get a package of 5 lakh rupees And 25 % of the graduates will get a package of 10 to 15 lakh rupees On an average, how much money will IIT get? 12-15 lakhs on an average What? See, so the perception is, ITX ke bachche ka Google me ha 2 crore ka placement. Then the society would think, ITs would give you 2 crore rupees minimum to start with. That is the problem with the society. I know, how many kids with ITs are.

2:00They're not getting what they think they deserve. This institute's brand, ITIM, their placement, money, many things are different versus others. To work out of India, the degree is so important.

2:27Thank you.

2:46valuable conversations will be brought to you every single time. And for listening to this episode of audio experience you can follow us on Spotify.

2:59What degrees are worth in today's time or not? And we judge 10 pointers and parameters on that. I will put my points and then talk to them. So that whoever you see can decide that actually Actually, I'm in any condition or situation, and I'm not a degree for my degree. We judge on the 10 parameters, how do I get the tuition and how do I get the network, how do I get the illumination, multiple things. First of all, return on investment on the tuition. When a person comes to your college, no degree will take any of the degree. So, you will pay the amount of money. So, how much money will pay? So, give me some degrees.

3:44or 2-3, how much money they spend in 3-4 years what is the average? Highest number of graduates in which degree you come to? Engineering Okay For a university, engineering would be the largest school Engineering how much? 4 years? 4 years And how much money will people be? So average fees for engineering in the country would be around 1 lakh rupees for a year and so 4-5 lakh rupees engineering programs will give you a degree most of the universities and engineering colleges yours ours is 2.5 lakh rupees for a year per year right so 4 years you will have 10 lakh 10 lakh and how much you will have to do this so one would want to get into hostel pick up another 5 lakh rupees 4 years 4 years ok 15 lakh and then another 100 ,000 that's it that's not a lot so what else is it?

4:45so where else? so your study materials your books, your station is that you would want to consume for education in addition to your skill and to your course essential education fees if you live in hostel if you pick up the transportation facility either hostel or transportation that's part of the hostel fees that which I'll do 5 lakh rupees, all are included. That's lodging, boarding, everything. So, 15 lakh. Because if you don't have a degree, then you will have to live in your home, transportation, and small bills, then you will have to do 15 lakh. For 4 years, you will have to pay 15 lakh rupees.

5:32How much time will this be it? So, in education, this is like ROI. If you invest 15 lakh rupees, invest so this is again variable this is not there's not absolute answer to this 100 % students would enroll for this program spend 15 lakh rupees 100 % absolutely variable placement is one thing

6:01average placement if you talk about 5 lakh rupees minimum which then goes up to 50 lakh rupees let's put a ballpark that 50 % of the graduates will get a package of 5 lakh rupees 5 lakh rupees and 25 % of the graduates will get a package of 10 to 15 lakh rupees remaining graduates they would never look for placements they have to go further education in family business there are boys and girls who want to settle in their lives so they would just keep that degree with them and doing nothing about it immediately so that's all so that's all okay then the next one so 5-15 lakh on an average you're saying somebody would make majority of people 5-8 lakh rupees right right now 5-8 lakh rupees they will earn if they live in a house 4 years and they will learn how much skills probably same probably same but the question is how much they can earn now we have said 50 % will get 5-8 lakh rupees.

7:09This data bag is average. You get it. You can't stop it. 100 graduates. We don't need 100 to 100. We don't need placement. Or they said that we need education in the system. How many of them out of these 100 will get job based on the skill? And for how long they will sustain it? That's a big question. 50%, 75 % will get a placement. 5-15 lakh rupees. can 75 % of people get a job in this skill, if they sit at home, they won't get it. They won't get a job in this skill. 5-8 lakhs will get a job in this skill. There is no choice in this skill. Once you are in the part of the education system, so if you are a computer engineering student, you got a job in IT.

8:06You needed a job in IT. You didn't like that. It cannot be that manual. So, you get a job somewhere. If you learn skills at home, you learn 4 years later. It's very easy to get a job. Tell me what skill. If you talk about an example, you learned what skill. You become a YouTuber. Yeah, what skill? Look, you don't go to independent self-employment zone. Because a YouTuber is self-employment in some sort. not that if he only learned writing, editing, coding people can learn different boot camps digital marketing, growth marketing AI based tools all the skills can get a job in 5-8 lakhs you can get a job better but you can get a job better just learn editing I have so many editors here who didn't do anything.

9:04They didn't drop out. Maybe they had a condition like that they couldn't afford college education. They had to spend money with them and learn online editing. They learned to do it on the phone. Then they came here and hired us at 40 ,000-50 ,000 rupees per month. They came here and got a computer.

9:31so they are so they are so they are so they are i am sure 11th If you have a child, you will learn editing, you will get a right ecosystem, you will get a job of 30 ,000-40 ,000. And if it's good, you will grow. Good, you will grow. This is all in demand now. This is all increased. I mean if there are 20 ,000 jobs for editors, this will be 20 ,000 to 50 ,000. But again the question remains that how many people will get, 75 people will not get. If this is a personal job, This is a risky proposition for this society. That I decided not to get into college ecosystem and I just wanted to continue with my passion, which is editing.

10:24Many people are not doing passion for this. They will only make money. Something will be made. That conversation is gone. But as I said, the bottom of the pyramid, they are not even aware where this editing opportunity is available. we talk about tier 2 and tier 3 now we are moving around the top 1 I have seen this I don't say this if I have seen it small children from the country UP people from Bihar there was somebody who in this company he gets more government officer but in his house why did he come here but he was very small from the village and he was enjoying it. So, first of all, he was making money so that he could go to my house.

11:17Now, he was a little bit of his pride when his promotion was made. So, he was giving money and he was making a little bit of his pride. So, he was doing it and he was a little bit of his pride. He was coming to the village. But again, the question remains, how many people are reaching in the world? If we have awareness, we will reach more. we will reach more awareness but so let's understand what college does so college we try and perceive college as a degree providing institution we have never seen knowledge centering institution so college is entire ecosystem you know once you enter the college what happens in the classroom is critical but what happens beyond the classroom is what stays with you for rest of your life.

12:05So, so we call it that colleges are controlled laboratories. You can experiment with yourself. So, college gives you a lot of opportunities to develop leadership skills. College gives you a lot of opportunities to fail. So, imagine you are part of some community in college, some club and you have to organize one event where 2000 students will participate. It's not a use case. For you as an organizer, a use case but for college if you fail you don't fail in life you know you'll get that learning and if you're not feeling here you don't get that learning imagine if you feel in life when you are in job of 28 years maybe 30 years of age if you feel at that time there's no looking back you know when it's fire you might get another job but you lost by yourself you know you feel humiliated that I am at 30 I made this silly mistake.

13:03He made this silly mistake because he didn't have that exposure. It never happened to me.

13:11If I am using individual skills on internet, I cannot communicate. Communication is not about communicating. Communication is about all your soft skills. How will your leadership traits come from? How will your interpersonal skills develop up you can get college you cannot do that all alone coding sitting on your room on internet you can learn coding but interpersonal skills what will happen adaptability the child will not go college because he has seen life more and more than a controlled laboratory he is failing here or had no Ramon's him the road scheme don't desarrollo he'söm'd. The soul has comes from whether they are coming from will find money and not how many interviews own they will save lives workggle It's 4 years so adaptability will not be adapting productivity will not come from learning as well students yet but yet but I don't need any platform but that environment confidence you can give college where I got a chance to showcase something and I could do that that confidence stays with me for rest of the life that might help me in the degree completion I am at CGPA I'll only get at CGPA but that confidence will help me to go places in life whenever there is a situation I'll be in a better position to handle it because I've handled it when there was no tag of failure on me just in my second year of education so adaptability does not come when you're sitting at home and looking for a job and writing emails that's the ability to do it the ability to do it because you have to survive and you have to write 10 ,000 emails and you have to visit offices and you have to make sure somehow you are getting that job you get that job that that does not give you that skill set that this is how I got a job that skill set doesn't get it's the result of your success it was the result of your family it was the need of your family to prove to you to prove to you to prove to you to prove to you even after drop out say I got a job you are doing it for somebody else you are doing it for yourself today you will get the job you will leave everything behind that will continue to do it that confidence college from college.

15:37We talk about agility, learning agility.

15:42Adaptability is to adapt in any damn condition in my life or rest of the life. Maybe at the age of 50, I come across something very very difficult. But I had that experience when way back 20 years. That file will open immediately and I know how to handle it. The question is, will he be scared? Will he be scared? college ecosystem he will not he will go he will I know I have seen this before I will be able to handle it I will be able to manage it he will be more confident and if he will be more confident there are good chances that he will come out of that situation can also be able to be able to fail to college what will happen now I will fail now I will be able to save me see hypothetically toh kishi baat ka is baat ka jawaab diya ulta ho hi sakta hai because wahan fail ue toh bhot nukasan nye ho mera toh muje laga thik hai fail honne se kya fark padata hai or usin mein fail ue toh me toh ghapra gaya but generally it seedha hi hota hai once you have gone through failure your ability to go through failure is again is is yeah like you you get better but getting used to failures and when i say failure it is not failure failure it is I wanted to perform that thought this way I couldn't do that and I realized that I could do that better you get that realization and next time when there is this opportunity you put that effort as well so you are improving everyday so we say university colleges fail only is the safest place imagine a 19 year boy failing at college and imagine a 40 year man failing in family and business as I said it is not about job job it is about it breaks you from inside absolutely and then you don't have the and you leave you rather have no courage in life and then you play safe even if you have that capacity capability to do something but that failure you have a lot of failure and sometimes it costs you your entire life to build that career again.

17:58So let's put first point this way that if you're thinking about how much return on investment will be in college. That if you've paid 5-15 ,000 ,000 to go to college and you're sitting in school versus you're sitting in a house and you're paying for one third for learning online or less and you've only done online. So two points come to the initial job probably both can be the same in money that is one but communication interpersonal skills which is to manage to manage to handle to make relationships and your ability to handle tough times your ability to handle tough times will get full of college with that ecosystem will get full of college with that who has taken degree which has taken college is a good college second is this person may be adaptability which has not college or not degree will get adaptability you will know that you will start gaining money from anywhere.

18:59So, there will be a little confidence that I can do it without college as well. So, that's second. And third is, if you have this courage, that you live in the social stigma, in the society, you can jail it. You can jail it. And you can jail it. Or you can convince yourself. Then, one option is for you, you can survive without a degree, otherwise you have a degree-val option. So this is ROI to tuition return on investment. You have to contribute to this whole thing. But overall, 10-15 years later, how much money you'll earn, that's your skills on the end of the day. That you have given 10-12 things in college, that you have 10-12 things that you have to utilize and implement in your life.

19:49That depends on that. So that's first. So initial money is same, but with different pros and cons that field of study that which high demand disciplines are in college which you can only learn in college and you can only learn outside so anything which is which is the base of laboratory so you said that arts is a theoretical subject you need a good teacher and a classroom you can keep the arts but if you have to study sciences, you know, BSC, microbiology, it's a lab based program. It's not online, you need that set up. High demand again, you need to do MBA, engineering, BCA program. If you have to talk about it, you can't be able to talk about college ecosystem.

20:49That cannot be replicated through online education. If you have to do mechanical engineering on the machine, work on the machine, CNC, then you have to talk about CNC. That CNC experience of putting out that production cannot be replicated on internet. Social media, YouTube, or YouTube. I can't get it. So, I mean, the college will win. I mean, there will be no argument in this. See, Raj, you have to win a country. You know, it wins with skills or with degrees. Our responsibility is to make sure that this country, which is from last 10 years, 12 years, you should talk about IT or any way. Kisele aboutскимonen

21:52Out E, doctor, we will come to how you guys are doing skills plus degree at one point, but so field of study Me, Jha pa быть, lab, lab based in行了 civil engineer benna road بنana 서가요 cheap вед cheap вед Eric you I don't want to go to that page, who has been closed on YouTube. Right, right. See, if we talk about skill,

22:19then one thing is about coding, editing, maybe 10 more things, which can be on the base of skill.

22:28Imagine going to a doctor with his skill, but not qualified. I mean nobody in the world would. it's risky yeah right civil engineering so imagine you wanted to put together 10 story office new office would you hire a skilled man who claim that I know how it works but I don't have any qualification you would not trust deficit right there are thousands of things that you don't have to talk without qualification you don't have to talk editing editing, okay. Car driving, okay. Type, okay. But there are some high skills, like growth marketing, digital marketing, you need to study all these things. They are high paying jobs in the country.

23:21Right. Then your content, storyteller, narrative builder, these are all very new types of jobs. They are getting a lot of money. writers now it's come now we will talk about this 5 years creators if we talk about this data analysis data analysts which are quite good jobs you can also learn skill based you can also learn degree for that degree for coding the first degree that was already finished you can also learn online so this so okay this is not a debate so there is clear bifurcation that which seems like civil engineering or aeronautical engineering or medicine, healthcare related, construction, farming these are all related things which are very important in which qualification is without a degree so those who go to the field and who think they will make money or will do good career or whatever they can do so it's pure degree college game but commerce I feel has been disrupted apart from CACF if you leave it in commerce little things have been disrupted in fact even design psychology which was very high paying jobs at one point you can also learn psychology you can also psychiatrists or psychologists can also design and consumer behavior you can also get started see one more help this online world or the greatest economy or the skills would do is this will give you conviction कि अभी education में so education has only 3-4 ladders पहले, medicine, engineering क्या उलते हो, वकेल बन जाई है इंजिनिर्र बन जाई है, डॉक्टर बन जाई है एक, तीपिकल ही हमारे समाज में हम यह सब सुनके बढ़े हुए हैं तो पहले education में success की 3-4 ladders the hotel management offers fantastic career design offers fantastic career humanities offer fantastic career hotel management without degree can be done i am just asking i don't know about anything about this field it can be done so you have again low level jobs based on your experience you have passed 12th and bsc and you can communicate well you know you are presentable you are very hard working hotel industry needs a lot of hardware so sabirate 6-6am so you can take the work again 10 % only but if you want to be a manager you will have to learn the hotel nuances you will have to learn the hotel if you want to become a chef you cannot just go and become a chef in a designated hotel restaurant highway I think that the degree of the degree should not be seen in Marriott.

26:20They should say that fusion food can be made in international cuisine. What can you do in the food? What can you do in which allergy is the answer to the question. Hotel management is a scientifically designed program and it's a four-year degree. And a lot of new kids are looking at hotel management. because India as a country is a very big base of tourism and the kind of expansion the hotel industry is having across all the states give me an understanding this is curiosity when you go to five star hotels there are dedicated guest managers for special guests they put it or butlers if you live in a suite they give you a dedicated on the 13th floor you know you have the club floors and then you have people so you have like a dedicated butler for your home very high profile time high profile guest they are solid guest managers like I recently experienced I was in Rosette and they gave me one butler two people actually morning shift and evening shift these two one guy and one girl I had a better guest experience like They spoiled it so much that I don't know that they exist.

27:46I get up and they noticed that I'm sitting on a bed and sit on a little cramp. That night, there was water and water on that side. Wow. Detailing. I don't think I'm going to be a good thing in my life. and it didn't have a good job. My point is that without asking me, someone has focused on such a level. And they would, they would have all taken away from them, what they should or not, my history would have taken away from my hotel, what I ate, what I ate, what I ate, so they would have asked me, there were a lot of details. So how much do they earn? What do you think he guessed? And they were just butlers, they looked like they would be a junior, no salary manager not going to be big.

28:34There are no salary. There are very incentives. Okay, like that. So, Raj Shamani came and they had to stay in the hotel. And if we would go around town and we would say, we would say, it's fun. That helps build that perception of that hotel. Four people who have traveled the world and they have said, I believe that if he is saying, he has seen the world so he knows how to differentiate between a good or a bad in terms of hospitality perception you have given some photos they have given you have given you have given gifts you might never get a chance to come back to the same city and stay in that hotel but you will help in your lifetime to solve their 2000 rooms 2000 nights without you doing it you don't do this I will call my manager and give you the phone.

29:35You said I said good. So that's how these butlers are trained. These butlers are trained not only to make you happy. They are hidden agendas that you should go out and talk about it. That's third party endorsement. Then they get an incentive wise. Their income will be about 40 ,000 rupees. But their perks are very high. you can get an HR extra, you can get a food facility and pick up drop and if your family are in that group of hotels you can get a 40 % additional discount and then again as the hotel industry works so Rajshaman you got it, you can get it and then you know, you go thank you so much you do that fixed is less, variables are more.

30:32Okay. Well, it's a lot of debate. Coming back to it, but interesting. I like knowing interesting things. I don't know. It's a new field for me. Okay. So, field of study, if someone is thinking about degree, if someone is thinking about degree, and wants to, and is confused, that he can do or not. Then, like the hotel management, civil engineering, all the degrees and all the skills you need to go to college versus marketing, sales, operations, HR, coding now, bunch of things, editing, all the skills, writing you don't need to go to college. Okay, so that's it. The biggest point which all entrepreneurs believe including me and this is the most important thing opportunity cost that you go to college and waste time 4 years experience outside you will learn more you will fold more 4 years you have done a low level job in a startup you will learn more than 4 years in college what do you think about opportunity cost usually usually 18 years when kids enter 18 to 20 highest energy like your life most premium time you waste in college 4 years

32:04things have changed in education now big time and changing very very fast so earlier this education used to be degree centric now it is knowledge centric if education does not provide entrepreneurial ecosystem please do not enter but education does and there's lot of lot of focus around education on entrepreneurship all the forthcoming academic institutions you know who are forward-looking and they have realized that everybody wanted to become an entrepreneur now at least try at least think about it they might be glamorous now the fashion is going on this story everyone thinks that some people don't know how to do it some people don't know how to do it some people don't know how to do it some people don't know how to do it So, in our campus we have this incubation center, you know, which is for everyone.

32:59And we offer this credit course. Credit is, you know, one entire semester you get 20 credits. It is essentially for everyone to study entrepreneurship just for one semester. If it is a six semester program, one of the elective in your course out of the six subjects you learn in that semester, one would be entrepreneurship. we wanted to make them realize that if this is your cup of tea this is what it takes move forward if you think you don't want to do it leave it if you think you will think about it let's complete the degree and then i'll i'll get that i get that skill set and i'll do it later so education give that freedom and as i said academic education forward looking institutions but i say entrepreneurship entrepreneurship, who is learning from learning?

33:484 years when you have a peak time, when you actually in real life, you can do something in real life. You can learn something, you can do something, you can go to a job, you can go to a fast-growing startup, you can learn a job in reality. What is different than you have to memorize a textbook, a theory, who has learned entrepreneurship? No, no, no. The curriculum is not a theory based. There is no. entrepreneurs come real life entrepreneurs come to the classroom pitch deck. So we don't teach them this is how it works. Go to Google, put out this research, put it out in Excel and then you realize it.

34:29There are experts who would know and then there are entrepreneurs who would come. You wanted to raise money. Your startup is germinate, looks good to you. and you have to raise 5 lakh rupees to make it a prototype for the market validation so those who have 5 lakh rupees and have made a good start-up those people come to tell their real life challenges that this is how it works it is not theoretical at all so the point I am trying to make is if it is opportunity cost you want to become and the college does not provide that ecosystem some opportunity waste ho gai hai ghar pe rukhye struggle kariye hustle kariye shayad start up ban jayega but achche campuses mein entrepreneurship ka ek start dia jata hai but aise nai ho ga ki agar wat controlled environment so technically it can be the most dangerous thing like imagine the the most dangerous thing a college can do is make you feel productive by keeping you engaged with these small nuances while keeping you away from the real life game because just imagine if you don't learn swimming you don't have to be in controlled water you don't have to be in college you don't have to be in a little bit and you don't have to be in a little bit this is a lot of dangerous you don't have to be in a little bit you don't have to be in a little bit it is not so the idea is to make that 18-19 year old realize this is the world now if you think you would want to move forward in this we gave you the first step

36:11just introduction to Antipaneh Hosh we are not claiming that we are making Antipaneh Hosh we realized that there are many who came to us in seventh semester this is we always wanted to do and then we missed the bus now I will try it again if it's a bad year then it will be difficult I wish I could explain something in the first year that it is like this. So this swimming coach will only tell them the techniques of swimming. They would never tell them that this is where the swimming is required. It's a controlled environment. Then it is up to you and then you should be wise enough to realize this is not the whole pond in the world.

36:53Then there are rivers and then there are bad waters as well. if you think that this is a controlled environment and this is guaranteed to be college, they will make me and I don't want to learn anything I will do my experiment you think entrepreneurship it is not a matter of this is not dangerous but if someone wants to become entrepreneur or wants to learn something the world is going to be like you will learn something and go to the top and then it will end up almost 0-5 years it will be 4 years every four years we will make money, the skill will change, the world will change, then you will do something in four years this is how the time came that you started once and you are doing something for 50 years in a very rare industry like that every four years things are changing so now in the four years college you will see what is the entrepreneurship in a little while you will see this, this and that it will be a little while.

37:50In some cases, there will be an opportunity that has been a little bit in that way. It will not be a big difference. Like let's say AI as AI for cyber security, AI for insurance, AI for finance, AI for education, AI for this, AI for that, this is a little bit. True. The one who has now has been a big deal, he has been a hard pair and has been a hard time for 2-3 years he will earn a lot of money. After 4 years after that, it might be irrelevant too. That's right. But if he joins in college, if he joins in college, and then he says, yes, this is good for me, I'll do it in college. Then he'll have to think that he'll have to spend 4 years.

38:34So then the simple answer is, if he's very sure, without using that ecosystem, he can still pull it off. Let him do that. college is not a place where it is mandated on the college it is aspirational which is okay that will produce entrepreneurs also if you produce good if you do not society would not question a college that why the hell on the earth that you have not produced 30 entrepreneurs this year I won't have any problem so if one is very sure that I might cut fizzle out in a college ecosystem

39:16and one is very very focused that i don't need any nonsense in the life i want my startup to work let him stay out of the college ecosystem and let him do that that entrepreneurship fair yeah but again telling you how many startups are there in the country and how many of them are college dropouts the number is low yeah I mean as low so see Raj more people are leaving from the institute that's true fancy I feel very very petrified then words like dropouts being glorified why not please don't do that why I tell you why so now today's youth is on social media on internet and they listen to people and they listen to people the matter the impact is very much do not connect as much with parents considering that they know what they are doing.

40:15Do not connect with teachers and professors. They think that they will do so much. Then he would listen to some successful entrepreneur. Imagine a unicorn. And that unicorn is saying college degree is absolute nonsense. Drop out. he's saying it when he becomes successful he didn't dare to say it or didn't rather realize when he was struggling 17, 18, 19 he gone through the entire process so glorification and that 18 year boy or 17 year boy XYZ gentleman 3.9 billion dollars net worth if he's saying he's saying right someone sitting in the tier 3 city who do not have verification arrangement for that information they will take that absolute and then take that path leave it, don't go to college and then they are struggling for their life they are not getting anything they couldn't become a start up they couldn't become that they couldn't gain that skill they gained that skill employed for 2 years, skill changed and now they are sitting struggling when the family is worried so drop out is a bad idea I'm going to talk about data.

41:39How many people drop out and start up make a great start-up. You will have to get out of college. What do you do? Forget about everything. You forget about agility, discipline, teamwork, communication, failure. You get that conviction in that ecosystem that this is not for me. And you get that conviction in that ecosystem that this is for me. Let's do it for that as well. Right. So, I talked to a lot of our students. What does a student say for 20-20 years? So, one happened to visit my office at 2 o 'clock in the afternoon on a working day. I asked, what happened in the 2 o 'clock? How did it happen?

42:24He took a work from home. Raj, I tell you, again, a bad idea. For a 21-year-old, work from home, someone who has seen life. who have seen the world, who have become a comprehension, who have seen the four days of cold weather, who can work for them. A boy of 20 years, 22, 23 and they are very proud of it. Had I been on me, I would have banned it legally. Trust me. I agree. Because this is our economic problem. is reaching if i would go 12 kilometers on my mobile moped and i would saw holding xyz car new model launches two months i have that aspiration to take the next day the next bonus will come i go to that office and see colleague with a new cell phone or new laptop i commit to myself that they will take and sitting aspiration is growing.

43:27What is the impulse? How does the market go? What is the theory of supermarkets? What do you want to take and take? Because there is impulse. You like it. It is also that you like it. But it is not happening. But then you say, let's take it. Impulse is growing. So what is like drop out and work from home? I banned it on me. I banned them. Don't do it after drop out. It is a big work that is confusing. It is I would rather request that I would be a little more mindful about it. Don't mind, I think PR tactics are often like dropouts. Imagine you go to college functions and you give a talk about college.

44:13All of that is the same thing. Because it's always true.

44:32I would love the mama much more than my father because he's my favor So, I think that some of these things are happening on the internet. I think it's very strong that people are influential. They don't do anything. People listen to it. People think they should know. I think that they should tell us about it. Dropout is a good thing. Now take a call.

45:29Like my point is not everyone says to yourself, you can show me some data, and tell me that I will hire a degree I will not do it. It will never happen because I have never done it. If you will see my degrees, or skills, or I have done it in life, it will probably be zero. In my industry, there is no work that I have learned. right so right so right so i had college in my first year presentation because that gave me confidence to give a speech in college right right right so i would say drop out is great like i didn't let me in my house conversation was going to have to learn my brother or not i was like no there is no need so you do this and do this three four things and learn that way right and what is the right, the wrong security is not all different.

46:32It's just I'm biased. So similarly the influential people who say that nothing is not happening including Bill Gates and Steve Jobs those people all say about their biases. Because they have a full life without it. I completely agree. Similarly, everywhere around all around the world entrepreneurs will say the same thing. Right. I'm saying let's be mindful saying this. One thing that has been influenced by this, you had something in you when you realize that education is not working out for me. You had that conviction, that idea, that courage and you would want to try and probably some backup back home as well.

47:15Two million who are following you, out of two million, 18 lakh might not have any backup. They will just go by hearsay. they will not apply the pluses and minuses and what you have gone through the kind of conviction that you have the kind of idea that you have the kind of connections that you have kind of entrepreneurs that you read before you started saying this I as a follower will follow you blindly right and I leave education and then who is to be held responsible see people nobody is saying whether a dropout or my many friends who have very big degrees then they have gone to McKinsey after McKinsey they have a very top level CEO of global companies many people who have gone to IT or MIT or Stanford after that they have been a billion dollar start-ups they should have studied they should have studied and they should have studied and they should have studied both successful entrepreneurs so let's just put that both of them say that they have to do both of them they don't even say that they have to do again because and drop out I'm saying that because today market economy is not giving you guarantee that you will get a job or not if you have any security or not if you have gone to college then also so then probably for me I'm like I guess I'm more than my brother at this point I don't care about anyone I don't think I don't think I don't think I don't think I don't think I don't think if I I think if I...

48:52...I am an entrepreneur... ...with no background... ...let's leave an entrepreneur too. We don't have any background. We have to have to do something for spending money. If your child or brother or sister... ...you don't need to do a job in your house... ...then you will not come to 20-30 ,000 rupees. That's the scenario. Now, what is the choice of this person? today for making money 20 ,000 ,000 ,00 ,000 4 ,000 ,000 ,000 ,000 anywhere from where you are, or Airbnb, I use the money from college and then teach a few skills and continue with that job so that to że biomass when something comes to life I have to gain out of my life one option is I'm 1, 2 Dim ل ogres I have to amount of money that I have to institute my recent survival and want someone to work as the apprentice at those I connect I will learn a few years later and then reach a few years to a 50-60 years of work.

49:51These are the two options. So the first option is the degree or college option. That's why people are very busy because they have no job. Unemployment, in fact, more because when a man was doing a degree, he felt a little good job. He doesn't want to do wage worker. He is more unemployed.

50:34That's the whole idea.

50:41If you have experienced that, you feel very strongly about it. Exactly. In last as many years, 25, 26 years, we have changed lives transformed because of education. So you must have heard about this place called Ranthambur. Of course. Asawaimadopur. Just, just, you know. Everybody knows because of the safari. Right, because of safari. So I'll tell you a little story. I will tell you. We have such thousands of thousands of years. That gives me that conviction that I should have to come to the education ecosystem and have to do a degree. So the girl name is Kanika Mittal. Probably 2021 graduate.

51:22Sawai Madhupur. Father got her into engineering because that college which was JECRC was available 120 in 20 kilometers and you know how her fathers and mothers are about there she got into jcrc she did what she did and she got placed in microsoft with 51 lakh rupees i then talked to her and she said that's the first time I ever came to Jaipur first time in my life and I was all scared you know just say Jaipur's kids will be in London for 17 years then he will come back to his life I'm sure he will come back and learn but he will be able to live in the first time first kid in the family get into this professional degree program and this is what she did 51 lakh rupees as Microsoft now I tell you the impact so this is a family she was brilliant you know she got lucky and she got placed this is not about Kanika Mittal alone the whole Savai Madho the father's name is Liladhar Mittal so he would call me one day and he would tell me that it's been good 35 years that I'm in Savai Madho

53:21went fromus at neat that is one and that Kanika is inspired more than hundred girls from such towns to come and get into engineering now imagine a girl will do a job, will do a course, he would create a job for himself but if a girl will get a job and get into the mainstream of the society, how much social implication कितना बड़ा हो जाता है और हमारे देश में तो बहुत ज्यादा हो जाता है that's the impact of education I had to meet my father just in case hypothetically asking if not engineering, what would happen? I would say I would have to pay for Bangalore because we are afraid of Bangalore is not in our phone we would have to take a phone in Japan we would have to take a phone in Japan and reach Japan if we are married, we would have to

54:45I have 10 ,000 such stories to give you. 10 ,000 where people came from small places had no aspiration they were academically bright they got into JCRC they got into JCRC academic aspiration what to do what to do what to do when they got into this ecosystem they realized that everybody is running if I would not run they would start calling me failure Mumbai Delhi Bangalore Channah Hyderabad and the rest of our 550 cities which we call today the population needs a startup or security security education you don't think you don't think you don't think you don't think everything doesn't think but everyone doesn't think if you go that extra mile they need qualified people how many thousand children so we employed more than 2 ,000 students every year 2000 people's job every year from the top of the companies 2000 500 people's job 500 people's job they need to do further studies they need to do a life in a start up or something else it means that 60-70 % of people who need to do a job from that to 80 % of people's job they're job they're job and they're changing lives so the other point is opportunity cost that is if you are clear that you have to do you know what your skills are or what you will make and you have conviction and you have a backup that if you fail then what do you have to do how to survive these are three things and you will absolutely clear that you will know how to do and then start building absolutely college won't help them see it is about conviction conviction is the denominator if I am very very sure that I will do something outside and I will know what to do then I will be happy and if you are confused and you don't know what to do what to do clarity then college is for you you would need you would meet I know how many kids have been the IMC's idea is a top line institution which are you know government back, government funded and how much subsidy can get Many people are frustrated.

57:54They are not getting what they think they deserve. They are getting something which is five notch above than the average society. But since he graduated from that I am ABC, he thinks I do not want to start less than I will talk. and I know 10 of them with the same mindset

58:23so versus these colleges you know tier 2 colleges you at least do not have that that I do not start less than this I will start somewhere colleges now with the change scenario would prepare you for the third job not for the first job colleges are not placement factory that notion we have made out of it that notion we have made we have talked about ROI we have talked about knowledge transfer when I say agility when I say confidence when I say I deal with it I have seen the whole place this is what education is all about now as I said disciplined workers produce education and that was needed now you should be independent thinkers you should education will not produce education does not mean engineering education engineering education does not mean immediate placement so tell me about institution brands that's another point that i had that this institute's brand IT, IAM in their placement, money, brand value, thinking ability, network and many things are different versus others.

59:47How much difference will it be? It's between you and IIT. Right. So between Huge difference, right? Huge difference which is reducing everyday. What is it for kids? Let's talk about it. On an average, how much money you get for an IIT? 12-15 lakhs on an average. What? On an average. Top IITs. Top IITs. See, this is the notion that I am talking about. What are you saying? Yes. Average. If a batch is out of 1000, we will average out. So the perception is IT X Google placement That is the problem with the society and the society would think ITs would give you 2 crore rupees minimum to start with But thinking ability will be smart Absolutely They are the best of the brains There is no two way about it If you want me to compare JECRC with IT Bombay As I said the difference is reducing because the excess of information is available now at free will they were privileged that this research project I.E.D.

1:01:05Bombay will get to the government because private colleges they are not good enough to do that common has changed that mindset they have fund allocation in research or in the world exposure X category colleges because it is like 500 crore rupiah AI fund is coming and anybody can apply if ID Bombay ID Delhi ID Kanpur ID Kharagpur would apply and 10 more private universities and JECRC would apply who would have the edge over others to get that project ID is of course simple and they would only get it why are they professor Kamal they are getting such projects from last 34 years so they are getting it and comment people sitting in the comment they also want to play safe if i am the one who is disbursing funds i would be biased to give to someone who would have done it before because accountability i have signed that signed that you know approval letter name is also biased and the government is going to the government now the id has done its own

1:02:16so difference is a lot of privilege in the world best of the technology best of the professors best of the services available on the past 15-10 years of the scenario so as I said JCRC that 400-10000 people in the last year, 15 ,000 ,000 people in the past year. In 2000, 400 people got it. But 400 people got it. They had something in them. And the average of them is reduced. The difference is reduced. Because the student's mindset is changed. As they say, knowledge has no boundaries. Now, a small town, a big town, privilege under privilege if you don't want to do it you can never do it in your life if you want to do it you can do it and you can't do it so difference is reduced now there is a lot but comment has changed and change and impact will come comment has realized 79 % of the education is with private investors 79 % 4.3 crore in higher education in India as of now 79 % private colleges so government cannot afford to create that infrastructure how do we do it I have been a university.

1:03:59There are 50 ,000 colleges. How many percent of them are the private and the government have realized this idea. And they have been very low. The systems and processes have been smoothed. So if you would ask me, what is the problem with government? Nothing is interesting.

1:04:29so one more point was entrepreneurial intent i think we covered the other topics in the projects that who is the intent of being entrepreneur, being a business owner, start-up so he knows what to do and how to do everything. So don't do college. If he doesn't know and he wants to test a little bit, then go to college where entrepreneurship as a controlled environment ecosystem is available to him a little day, test for 2-3 months and I think that it's not good and then probably pick it up from there so that's done one topic tell me industry gatekeeping which is there are some industries where there are very strong gatekeeping that you don't get without a degree you don't get so we know medicine is a type of industry law is a type of industry professionals are there CFA You have to do a lot of government jobs, you have to become a IAS officer, you have to become a government teacher.

1:05:37Without a degree, they will not open the doors. There is a gatekeeping there, right? But the normal degrees, like MBA, do you think there are PBA, B-TAG, MBA type? There are companies like today, big companies that don't have a degree, they don't give you entry. Are they there today or are they dying? now it is but fading very fast fading very fast so there was this time 12 years back MBA was on boom everybody would want to everything was MBA and then college started coming and then some issues now it is selective if you want to do MBA you are very sure that you are doing it from this 10, 15, 20, 30 or you are not doing it but coming back to the question so there are corporates there are sectors who would have MBA based hiring so their doors will only open if you done your MBA then only you can apply after application they would come for interview then they keep that MBA degree side note apply without MBA degree like give me company's name 3-4 big companies like I knew at one point because I had to apply in Unilever and I was also if I was a junior or employee I would learn a lot of things so I would probably make a good consumer goods company so I wanted to apply but in that I think the most I think decorated joining is MT management training that's it starting until you don't have to see as a top college MBA so that I knew Unilever used to do that today you don't know see you have to understand that Unilever is one Unilever is one you have to do a job in Deloitte you have to go to their marketing department and the qualification is entry level qualification for X profile MBA 60 % throughout or whatever is there algorithm let's understand why do they do it Deloitte as a perception everybody you know is in the management would want to work everyone if they would not riders put riders 4 lakh application to 4 lakh will reduce to say 40 ,000 by putting this rider and then they only have to pick up thousand so cost of equation in the company per employee is huge is very very huge so I can give you hundreds of names I don't even remember a company right now who would say if you are not an MBA just don't worry come and talk to us that's the harsh reality Google and Facebook there are two how many are going?

1:08:59I can't talk about numbers when we don't know we will have to understand the perception would you feel it's an interesting question that India because our population is very much so this filter will be a filter we have not a degree as a filter but there is another filter we use 10 filters that we use filters. And the only reason is that when we have told you that our job is open. We will be able to get 400 people out there. Very. I mean, 40 applications come to a story. I know. 40 applications come to a story. Oh God. So you have to put a filter that you accept this type. So I'm sure Unilever and like the Deloitte's of the world which are the big Reliance and Tata these companies in there are a million people apply daily.

1:09:52would you feel since we have a lot of numbers we will always put a filter to accept application and because degree is a very clear mechanics of how many people have worked or how much dedicated or easy metric to judge yes it is people will always put a filter that's why the filter won't go very fast it might now what is the other way you have to put a filter because you said that 12 ,000 people will apply to the same day. AI will solve that. AI will solve that. That is one. Two referral hiring. So lot of companies. So data analysts have three positions. They don't want to announce to the world that three positions.

1:10:42Again, cost of hiring will be lost.

1:10:50sas ai deso song immediately they would give you know confitta because now the situation is worse than you are doing. There are not many people who are referring to this. For 10 ,000 people, you will go public. You will go to colleges, campus placement, otherwise you will not get to. But one is a filter to put it. One is a logical way. You have taken that path, if I am the Unilever, I would realize that he has taken the trouble of running to that path for four years. there will be some minimum commitment to them and some skill will have achieved from there but not only to control a big population a lot of people after that the logic is that if he has done this two years in MBA and he has received 7.5 CGPA he has received a lot of discount that he will get it nothing is happening, X, Y, everything is done but that two years of effort will remain so you think that person will be more loyal?

1:12:12and more like will be willing to put more effort yes somebody else yes certainly again I don't know I tell you how I think I probably disagree some point leave aside again 30-40 large cities where there are opportunities I get it opportunities available but where the city was the problem I was just trying to and you gave me the first break I have that emotional attachment with you and I would not leave you for small reasons. 5 ,000 growth, 2 ,000 growth in Padoska company. I would stick with you that when I was in need, you hold my hand. And in the bargain, I would work with you for two years.

1:13:01In two years, three times. But I got more loyalty and value. And then I spent two years. now since I spent two years with you I realized how it works you started trusting me and then I am part of the growth story of the company that's how it works so loyalty factor comes from professionalism I mean the second counter is what do we do somebody is paying me more I deserve more so somebody is paying me I didn't ask him to give me more money that's also a logic in my opinion and this is personal just experience I don't have any data this personal what I'm experiencing I'm telling you if you take a very fancy degree right if someone gives you 5-10 % of money from you it will go out immediately because it's entitled that I've been working so hard and I've done one degree so I'm going to go where the value is in the market I'll go there their attachment towards so many more things that you get more growth or not what chaos is going on what is going on all things are discount what is growth potential in a company these small brands are big they are thinking they are entitled they are entitled that I have done so I will do it versus if you are without a degree person join with you and you also have a year they are more loyal to you because they are like here I am giving 10 % but I have come to this company I have come to see when I am learning from zero I didn't know anything.

1:14:37Now I learned that I'm giving 10 % more. It's okay. If someone gives 500 % more, then leave it alone. But for 10-20 % I agree completely. People stay more. Why entitle is less. Okay, last three points. Very quickly. First is that geography and market. Do someone work outside India. and go to that, that is objective. You don't have to stay in India. I have to go to US, UK, Dubai, Australia, wherever. Right? And you go out and work out. That is important for degree. Can you go without... Without degree or without study, you can go out and start and go out and go out? You will get to get low level jobs.

1:15:30will get why there is skill actually importance we give experience skill we give experience and experience if you have see graduate immediately looking for a job in Australia immediately looking for a job in Australia has to be a graduate or experienced Australia you can't get into the job because it's a difficult thing then you have family set up you have to go to family and you don't go to the job you are ready to go to the job imagine somebody wanted to become a teacher abroad absolute no if you only have skills and you are passionate teacher and you can deliver some coding lectures very very well but you have not gone through with the professional churning so allowed he is not allowed he is not allowed he is not allowed you have to say that you have to be an engineer or you have to be a psychologist or historian either you should have experience or you should have degree experience where will you come from that you have to be a churning 2-3-4 years of degree that you have to apply for three years.

1:16:56After that, you have applied to apply. Then, network. Which is the alumni network and network access. In today's time, college's biggest advantages was that you get a alumni network. You get the right professors, seniors, who have worked in college,

1:17:25that was always an advantage today that is not there right today alumni network i mean my network without college you can also make it so is it that important so without college you have to make it you have to put together some effort in order to make sure that you are connected and keep connected the onus would be on you if we go to the education then that platform is made you just need to join that you know that portal and then you get the entire access all the information generally it's a lot of work in referrals generally it's a lot of work in jobs generally it's a lot of work in other countries you are not very sure initially how you will survive for 15 days But friends, you have to do it.

1:18:21Just because you have to come from a college. College is right? You have to go from a college. And if you have a 3-year-old junior, you have to message me, you don't know. You don't know the college. You don't know the help. Yes. Yes. People do that. That's the power of that institution. But randomly, 3-4 years, people do help. Just because I have to help from my college. I have to help from my college. I have to help from my college. I don't have to help from my college. Somebody is asking for help. and i think i'm capable of doing that it doesn't cost me anything i'll help this is very personal generally it's done that becomes a common denominator no i'm saying that if i reach out on linkedin i can create a network and professional in linkedin i can reach out to those who can help or can help me i can do it right but this is the emotional angle is that if I went to another city and I didn't know anyone, I did a reach out, the majority chances are people will not give me a burden.

1:19:22I don't have to say that. But the college people will not give me a chance. They give me 100%. Really? Why give me? See, again, random things are not happening. I have told you what the case for five years. So chances you might respond you might not respond. That's okay.

1:19:43So there's this networking dinner which is organized. You call me, I call myself, I'm 5 years old, I'm 3 years old, I'm 1 year old. And we get there. So there has to be a platform. Somebody is organizing that dinner or that networking lunch in Bangalore. And in Bangalore, there are 5200 people in JCR. I have to think about JCRC that on Thursday we are coming if you are available you know it will be able to catch up. 100 people come, 200 people come. They don't care if I know which one is coming, I don't know because the platform was JCRC. So the platform is important to me directly without knowing each other for some exchange of ideas.

1:20:32and if I do not respond you can always reach out to the campus and tell them that this is the boy of 2018 batch I am 2021 batch I need help I am also trying to put together a similar idea around startup which he has announced can we collaborate I text him he is not responding can you please help then college become that platform he would call you he would call me and you said I don't want to share with any Tom D. Don't put it in the chat. You told me that we've been growing up. Generally, 80 % of the cases, if JCRC is a common denominator, I'll respond. Again, what's the place in the first time that's the place of the world?

1:21:24Interesting. I tell you one incidence. So there was again - You would do that. In the background, you technically be the connector. Every day. Ten times in a day. Every day. You have a connector. I don't know directly. So there is this alumni office on the campus. Three people. Four rather. 24-7 that's their job. They are not teachers. They are not designated. Their job is to connect people. Yes. Their job is to maintain the database of alumni and to talk to them. This is a very small thing. 24 % of the campus placements we bring in every year is through LinkedIn and alumni network. 24 % we talk to our alumni.

1:22:10If you look at your profile, you realize that you switch jobs and then this is the company you are in. And we know that the company is hiring 5000 every year. Please help. If you put your HR advice, you send HR email and we send it in the loop. That's the job. because for me to reach out to that HR and to get his no true

1:22:41so LinkedIn we use LinkedIn like anything for campus like anything you know we are very very aggressive and we ask all the students who get into JECRC to register you know have an account on LinkedIn and do a meaningful stuff don't treat LinkedIn like Instagram that new mobile new share photograph and they internships opportunities collaboration opportunities so Eliminar network is a strong tell me what on an average just give me one data one word answer it's that if 100 % of people who graduate How many people get a job? You talk about engineering Those who are looking for a job 80 %

1:23:36And that's there on the website With all the names 100 % How many jobs are the highest? In terms of numbers or salary? Salary Salary as I mentioned, Microsoft is a package of 50-50 lakhs Amazon is a package of 43 lakhs people go to that last to last 10-12 lakhs okay and lowest? lowest is 3.5 lakh rupees, 4 lakh rupees interesting okay here is the last line which I asked everybody it's that this is fill in the blanks type of that the biggest problem of Indian education system is

1:24:21expectations interesting why industry expectations parents expectations children expectations government expectations or society expectations in some ways it's a serious mismatch industry wants the best of the graduates to come and start delivering from day one the government expectation that since we have given them the license and the framework they have to do a good job where there are a lot of ground level things the parents would say since we have deposited the fees and now it is college responsibility to make sure that he should be a you know he should be a complete man the kids the expectation is that you know i i'm attending 75 percent of the classes now it is up to the institution that they should make sure that I do well in my life.

1:25:19Sanstha ka expectation chaaro se hai. Sanstha I tell you interestingly. Expectation mujhe lagta hai ki ye wo baat hai. So lot of corporates again who visit JECRC as well for recruitment. They would tell us oh these kids are not employable. Hum toh saulene ayae the. Chalisi leke jya raha hai. you know we are little disappointed and that becomes a norm anybody who would visit for campus policeman my question is even if these kids are so unemployable what is industry's contribution in making sure that they become employable you know it's a it's a huge contrast. Let's become partners. Industry and academia should become partners.

1:26:14Industry should help in growing the organization. I'm telling you a general scenario for me. Corporate suit is not employable. College, what did you invest in college? in terms of human capital. So government say, talk to all these large companies who become large because of these, you know, tier two, unemployable colleges, they become very big. This CTO should be part of the board of these campuses, universities and colleges at least you want them to. And they should tell them what curriculum should be taught today. And maybe what is the technology coming after year and half because their comprehension is better than the truth.

1:27:05So the bottom line is in the end that

1:27:13because you see the stories that education changes you feel it's important. Because I meet people with people who have been doing jobs without education I feel like that maybe education is not necessary. But the middle line is, which I loved in the entire thing, that there are a lot of pros and cons for taking a degree of education. There are a lot of pros and cons for taking a new degree. And one thing which highlights, that if you are clear, you know what to do, you have skills, and you come to understand, and you have so much courage that you can go and go and do it. So you can probably come on my side and be like do it yes there is no need degree degree you are going to go forward but if you don't have clarity you don't know your strength weaknesses you don't have conviction and you don't have backup so probably this option is much safer than much safer and proven from ages both have proven they both have data so that's that's something is a broad line and then apart from that all the little nuances you talked about in the last time thank you so much Thank you so much for coming here.

1:28:26And I really like one thing that wherever there were some gaps that probably could not give a degree ecosystem and there is a non-degree ecosystem that is winning a lot. There you accepted and you admitted which is very rare for somebody who runs a university to accept. Usually people don't do it. So thank you for being honest. Thank you. Thank you so much. How are you? All good. Absolutely. Ajo please have a seat But tier 2 is a lot loyal I will tell you a small thing Because I am from India You would understand this My friends and people have seen in tier 2 and tier 3 Like if you have gone wrong If you have gone wrong, you have to sit with you I know, I know, but who is the one?

1:29:12If you sit with you, you are sitting with you Once you have called your brother, you will not meet him Right In these metro cities I know So, when you get up with your friends, you go to office and call the office You get up with me You get up with me It was my little mistake I will go So, there's no benchmark in friends There's no benchmark This is a tier 2, tier 3 Thank you so much for watching this episode until the end Now, you have to do three things Number 1, subscribe to this channel Because as much as you subscribe We will get the guests to you Number 2 please comment में हमें बताइए कि हमने क्या गलत किया और क्या अच्छा किया ताकि उस feedback से हम सीख सकें और आपके लिए और बहतर experience create कर सकें and number three ये episode किसी एक इंसान के साथ जरूर शेर करना क्योंकि एक conversation enough होती है किसी की change the life of life.

In today’s episode, we sit down with Arpit Agrawal, Vice Chairperson at JECRC, to talk about skills vs degree, college ROI, and how career decisions are actually made today.

We discuss whether a ₹10 lakh degree is really worth it, how salaries vary from ₹3 lakh to ₹50 lakh, and why the ROI of education is not as simple as it seems. Arpit explains why skills alone don’t guarantee jobs, how college builds confidence and exposure, and why some careers still require formal education.

The conversation also covers IITs, average salaries, industry expectations, and why companies still prefer degrees in many roles. He shares insights on networking, working abroad, and why the gap between institutions is slowly reducing.
