0:33I don't get an outsider after multiple opportunities. Today, Will You Call Aliyah Bhatt Just A Star Kid? Ranbir Kapoor is an outstanding talent. These two are technically NEPO kids. Don't they deserve their success? While Shahrukh Khan and Mr Bachchan are the big journey of outsiders, there are also great insiders who have done great work. Eventually, you can't compare with honor. You can argue that many talented people are not successful. His only component is the achievement. you can't fight with that. If you look at my career, there are a million people more talented than me who deserve to be where I am today.
1:06I am the part of this industry only with Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan. Is there any controversy because of Coffee with Karan that you wish it would have never happened? Hardik and Rahul, you know, I was really worried and scared about that. That episode threw me off. Who do you think will become the next big star?
1:26The house is not just a structure, it's comfort. Familiar things, known faces and the feeling that everything here is our own. This feeling can't be shifted, but every thing you can safely shift. So, when you talk about the house, put the safety of the porter with safety. guarantee and 5 ,000 ,000 ,000 and their multi-layer packaging and convenient booking slots shifting can be easy to make so that you can focus on emotions and not logistic. And when there are emotional stories about the story, one name naturally remembers Karan Johar, who gave us our favorite movies, so iconic dialogues and learned to romanticize life.
2:17Today we will know them what is the definition of love in real life? In Hollywood, nepotism, his weight loss journey, why they closed the parties in parties, and why the real reason of the stakes of the dharma, in this podcast, with Karan Johar, unfiltered on figuring out. Enjoy the show.
2:43You have given many hits, and recently you have not been released a lot, movies nahi chali, right? Do you think this is the lowest point of your life? No. In terms of movies? In the year, two-three pictures never have been released. This is why you keep hearing this. Actually, we had last year, we had a very strong financial year in terms of the money that the company made as a result of music overflows, as a result of profitable films for us also. But people hit your flop, it didn't happen last year. I think that's about it. That didn't give us a profit. The reason to have soul stake
3:19It was actually because I wanted to grow and expand I wanted to start my distribution which I started immediately we hired someone very strong to head that division I wanted to start my music label I wanted to make many films where I fund them entirely on my own so that it's the profitability of our whole company. What was our model? Because I'm very nascent as a producer. Actually, my life and Apoorva's life, we both are brothers and brothers, we have a company. I've been working 15 years. In 2008, I've been producing multiple films. This was a branding, but it was only 15 years. From 2008 to 2023, is when I produced multiple films and built Dharma Productions.
4:16Khud ka brand pahle se shuruo ho gaya tha because Coffee with Karan 2004 mein aay thi. Up to that point sirv mein ek film dred kerta tha aur ek 2008 mein dhostana I Hate Love Stories, Kurban, Wake Up Sid ye sari film mein shuruo hoi aur UTV ke saath meera pahla deal bana tab, uske baad Fox star ke saath eek lamba slate humara bana uske baad Dharma built hui to I realize ke 15 saal मैं इस 15 साल में मैंने जो बनाया इसकी equity मुझे अभी leverage करनी है क्योंकि मैं अपनी company को और बढाना चाता हूँ मैं ऐसी film में बना चाता हूँ जिसमें मुझे funding की जरूत ना हो now मुझे actually दोस्टे studios के साथ collaborate करने की जरूत ना पड़े जोस्टे collaborators के साथ collaborate करने की so that the profitability of the film is the whole thing.
5:03Because our biggest hits are all the same. Every big hit of the film is the whole thing. It was the whole thing. I didn't finance my own film. Because we were new. People say that the nepotism is, that's what I have. I didn't know my history. I had goodwill inherited my father. But nothing was done. not until something happens. I have five flop films before that. There was a line from one film. There was a film in the world that came out. In the world of 1987, the film flop. In the 1990, the film didn't go out. In the 1993, the film was average to below average. It was a lot of money. In the 1998, the film was duplicate May and flop.
5:49My film was in the 1998, the film was released. There was a film from Dharma Productions ki shuruat in a sense as a strong company hoi. What I had was my father's blessings and his belief in me are unka tremendous goodwill. Woha bhoat loved thae. Bhoat hi loved thae. Par success nahin pahe hunhne. After 2000, after 98 kuch kuch phir kabhi khushi, phir kalohna ho, kabhi alvida. But tam phir papa passed away in 2003 2004, June 2004 uske baad mujhe actually khud le jana pada and apurva ke bgaher mein nahin kar pata. So, he left his entire life in London and overnight Bejal and him moved back to Bombay.
6:37School's best friend, college's best friend and then today partner in crime. So, we are our own suffering. And then we started thinking, what do we do? Because I don't know anything about business. Now my business is zero. Instinct is strong. Acumen is zero. That is the whole business. I am creative. and we suffered till 23 when we both realized this is now time to leverage and grow and our business to grow organically would have taken me another 5-7 years, I needed the fund to grow and today I have to say I am very happy with my partnership with Adar, he is a very amazing person, he has amazing instincts and I feel accountable, so today people say that when you change the steak, you are more relaxed हो गया हूँ, मैं अच्छी ज्यादा hyper हो गया हूँ क्योंकि मुझे लगता है कि now I am for the first time मेरी जिन्दगी में मैं accountable हूँ किसी और के पैसे है, मुझे success पाना है, profitability increase करनी है, अपनी company को profitable दिखाना है और जिस साल के बारे में आप जिकर कर रहे हैं to come every year.
7:43Many people said, someone's higher, someone's lower. But the work of the years, the legacy, you can't erase it. And if I break down, kill our very appreciate. Mr. and Mrs. Mahi is a profitable film for us. Bad News is a profitable film for us. Our profits, watch it. Jigra is broken even. And right now, we are on the verge of producing our first Punjabi film, Akal. And then Kisri 2, and then Dharak 2, are here and we are very excited, very bullish about the year. So there's no low point nothing. Low point to me with God's grace, actually a destiny's grace, yeah my father's blessings low points jab aate bhi hai, who flop nahi chali to me ne na success ko kabhi seriously liya hai, aur na failure ko kabhi mein dil pe leta ho.
8:29I always feel, can actually failure, joh hai na, who eek final result hota hai. Sometimes I like final results, chahe wo bhoat success हो यहाँ बहुत बड़ी failure because there are results average जो है न मुझे average से बहुत परेशानी होती है जो बीच में फस जाती है ना इधर की ना उधर की ब्रेक इवें नहीं चाहिए या lost चाहिए मुझे results चाहिए है अब मुझे बता दो जहाँ मैं गरत गया हूँ I acknowledge my life I have a success I have a position I have a branding I have a power I have a director I have a filmmaker I always feel nothing Nothing should go to your head Because success A lot seasonal thing is You know I have a lot of Batchman I have a gum And a lot of Dukh A positive approach I have a lot of Because
9:50When you envelop and embrace your tragedy and sadness, then happiness is a beautiful breather when you come to it, you can envelope embrace it, you can feel happy but when you go, you don't have to be a shame similarly with failure failure has to be a success that you will fail tomorrow, you will be successful but tell me your lowest point in your life my father's death my father's death I mean I was 31 years old I was 31, 32 I was very active was absolutely healthy. Cancer was gone. Fourth stage cancer. When we were diagnosed, we were told that he has a tumor in his esophagus and then it started spreading.
10:38From time of diagnosis to time of death, 10 months of death. August 2nd, 2003, I was told that there was cancer. June 26th, 2004, he passed away. So, if you are a unit of three people and a part of your life, then the vacuum becomes very difficult to fill the vacuum. So, what did you feel at that point? At that time, I felt I had to be strong for my mother. I felt that if I go to the house, I go to the house, then what will it happen to my mother? My mother was 60-62 as well at that time. She was relatively young for this big loss. age gap wide between my parents 10 years ago age gap it was very tough for me to be tough but I had to be I was really and the cathartic meltdown after my 2-3 years where I really felt that I broke down much later because until I was putting up a front which is my personality also I am a Gemini so you get two for the price of one there can be two very distinct different personalities co-existing I show you my strong side I have never shown vulnerability the other is when I become vulnerable I want to be I still feel that I am wounded by the death of my father I still feel that when I remember it's a point that gets me emotional but again I always feel and what I did and I tell people who lose their loved ones or their parents when you lose a parent I feel you gain a God and that God's face you can see that face for me and my father they are God's idols everybody has their way of connecting with God religious belief, faith everyone have their own way they pray they meditate do, take care.
12:49But I saw which give this that now that the My Bonnie and his brother has 18USN is my mother. Now my direct line of communication if it's only one hundred怎麼樣. I do my quelqueflehem. Then whenever you ask about that in the prayerone it путём. Then I workshops. So my timeline is my line of communication for all of me. I come for my own negotiations then gets together. They are going to listen to me legallymand class but then this I makeiplicance you know and myrii baat hootie hai baqaida subha hootie ya rata hootie sone se pehle or u'thne ke wakt myri baat myri channel of communication papa ke saat hamisha khuli how beautiful and you said ki aap third time baat breakdown ho hai kub ho hai kyi ho hai mujhe abhi bhi yaad agopal why letta late kyi ho mujhe pata nii mein ek film liknye gaya tha toronto me namesake mira nair ki film thi.
13:45We should be about to know that it was a premiere night at the Toronto Film Festival opening night and they called me and I was for Toronto for the festival. I was not watching the picture. And I wept a lot at the end of that film. And then I walked to the hotel from that venue and I cried alone. Because I couldn't stop crying. I couldn't stop crying. And I went to the hotel room and I think 2 hours till I am just going to be there and then I realized that this is just the picture of the impact that can be done it's touched a chord in me but trigger of the film was definitely something at the end of the film that feeling of the namesake gave me and then it went into my father's emotion and I completely completely totally fell and I broke down but now
14:51I felt like I was not breathing in the same way for two years. because I felt that baggage was and there's something so beautiful about crying about tears you know the tears don't have to be self-serve they need to go out they need to be their children they need to be their work to give them and that's the beauty about tears is that they can give you so much relief and that tears that tears that breakdown that meltdown that was easy to be easy no
15:47feel conscious if I feel I I feel feel I feel I feel I feel I feel
16:02you just said that you have vulnerability not to see people you have a strong side and a personal side so what does that mean that if you have a problem and a problem then what is that I don't want to see I don't want to see I don't want to see I don't want to see I don't want to see it's a celebration of your emotion I don't want to see if you have attacked fagced I have behaved
16:35because it's sound and I hear a lot of maybe it's a day earlier I think people give me
16:47speaking style play play sit look look it's home for me always self 저 b produces and I keep the facilities in and there there I Nothing. He needed to stay these — He was querer to find out any way because of marriage issues. He's got sans action-seeker all 영own. My child tends to feel likehere are my youthful feelings flowers. You know? Why do you say that?
18:01I didn't ask him, but I used to always wonder. but I think that's what made me closer to him and he loved me and he loved everything about me he felt that when I was very plus size who was talking about the age of or I don't know what to say he said that no problem, puppy fat is going to go you know, he never ever said when I was 18 years old and I lost a little weight at that time because I was conscious of it so he said you know, you look handsome so I should be a hero binna CHHAIH do the developer on my daily data I know I sweets but this is a true place that I never used to überall anything for me a talk about this we were on our own and we were on our own and we both said that you have a problem in the world in a lot of society because your voice is a girl so that you can hear baritone so that you can hear some voice exercises so that you can hear two years I went to class so that I could sound like a boy I could hear two years two-three years to go to computer class.
19:37I was very shy to tell him that I'm actually going to do this. It was a shame. It was a shame. Three years later, I was going to the baritone. They were not only teaching me baritone, they were taught me how to walk. How do you become more masculine? Today, I never give advice to anyone. I say to yourself, if you are going to the baritone, then go. talk about. if you office में तो पापा ने सुचा कि तीन साल तो ये computer class कर रहा है तो इसको तो कुछ तो आता होगा computer के बारे में और रहे का करन ये है computer अभी चलाओ और मैं देख रहा हूँ ये पता नहीं alien से चीज पढ़ी है मैं life में मैंने तो कोई computer class I was not going to voice training.
20:45I was walking to talk. I was not going to computer. I said, Papa, I didn't know. So, I said, what was the three times? So, I said, it was different. I had some excuse for me. So, I was so shocked. I was shocked. I was shocked. So, it was, in every thing, somehow, I like to see the humor in everything also. Because I feel that every thing you can't tragically. I am not even a person. I have an out of body experience when I tell you what you are doing. I have to be amusement. You have to be a bit of a bit. Before you have difficulties. But after that, some people in this life gave me that confidence.
21:27Aditya Chopra, he gave me that confidence. He gave me that confidence. He gave me that you film maker. I didn't want to be a film maker. I wanted to be a fashion designer. I wanted to be a costume designer. I didn't know what to do. He said no, you're a filmmaker. Then Shahrukh told me that I said that if you picture me, I will film the first. Then he followed it up. So people have a lot of encouragement.
21:53I always say that I am only in this industry. I am only in two people. Aditya Chopra and Shaharuk Khan. Aditya Chopra first, because they saw me a few years ago. دیکھا اور شارک کیونکہ مجھ میں faith رکھی کہ میں پہلی film ان کے ساتھ بنا ہوں وہ star تھے بہت بڑے superstar تھے میں آج یہاں نہیں ہوتا آپ کے سامنے نہیں بیٹھا ہوتا ان کے وجہ سے وہ انہوں نے نہیں ہوتے آج جب ہی بھی جب میں national award جیت چکا ہوں last year جب آپ کہہ رہے تھے سال برا تھا تو میں national award میں نے جیت تھی جیتا تھا for brahmaster and when I won the Padmashtri before that Don't know moments The first thank you I actually in my heart Always give to both of them Because Whatever achievement today Is only because of them You spoke about That kids They were having fun In your own Like you were fat body Did you bother now For years?
22:53No Where do you bother Now you have just Insanely reduced Your fat This is wild the transformation is crazy I saw you last time two years ago in an event you were just behind in an event so I just saw you for like maybe two three minutes in that and now it's a lot different like two years two and a half years it's a lot different so I've always been battling the bulge I've done a few thousand diets 500 workouts every kind of you know which I did my blood work and found out that these are the issues I've had in my thyroid or whatever else that I had to correct and I've been correcting it. So now I ask people to ask why you are in the Uzampic or in the Mungjaro?
23:51I'm tired of people who say that you don't know me. So I don't want to say that you're honest. such a very long story that I know that I am very healthy. I have never felt lighter. I have never felt better. I have never ever felt more confident in my skin. It gives me nothing but joy. After 52 years, I feel confident. Otherwise, I have body dysmorphia. Body dysmorphia what happens?
24:40can you explain to me
24:46the pool and in the pool. I think that start early I go σmill emptiness so that I don't see anyone. I was never in my personal ideas. People couldn't 코 Israeli me officially. I didn't get them. I don't remember that. It would happen. Now it would happen. No, I've been very fast菲. hell. What's the difference? It's a little uncomfortable. Everyone feels that I can pee and confident many tips. But a confidence in people. But a feeling of discomfort. My Whether it's helped people, my only mind feels that nobody feels good. кварти. that you have discomfort, you have a little bit of discomfort, but you don't have a hint to see your body.
25:21I can't see it. I can't see it. I can't see it. I can't see it. I can't see it. When I see it, it's better because my body is better. But when I didn't, I didn't see it. What is the treatment? I suppose people do therapy for this. I think people discuss it openly. But I don't know treatment. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know treatment. नहीं किया, वो तो continuous नहीं होता था मेरे साथ, और मैं हवेशा फिर क्या होता है कि आप, मैं उतना भी obese नहीं था, जितना मैं अपने मन में मैंने अपने आपको कह दिया था, तो I oversize कपड़े आप पहनोगे, ढकने के various mechanisms होते हैं, जिस तरह के कपड़े मैं पहनता था, fashion अच्छा लगता है तो oversize clothes पहनता था मैं, कभी कुछ tight life में मैं नहीं पहनूँगा, you know, जहां से कुछ, और आज फिर भी थोड़ी कोशिश कर सकता हूँ, लेकिन तब तो सालों तक मैंने नहीं किया, so you keep hiding your body, because you are ashamed of it, you know, and और उसके emotional repercussions भी होते हैं, because when you want to go to a relationship you also are scared you feel you will be judged you know by your body because in the relationship there is intimacy and intimacy involves body and body involves your relationship with your body how can you create a relationship when you don't have your relationship with your body so there are a lot of emotional issues so when people control do not know that we are going to go through our own and we are going to fight our own so we are going to fight so I have said that years ago I have actually that is the trolling but do you think that a lot of people take GLP one right so the problem is that publicly is so important because I've seen some people if they are an influencer or celebrity that if it's a drug that's just getting so everybody is just like commenting ozampic ozampic ozampic GLP1 GLP1 GLP1 which is actually a drug ozampic I saw ozampic yeah that ingredient yeah the main drug so look ozampic ozampic ozampic ozampic commenting and then people deflecting and I've seen few people who have taken it who have denied it who have not taken it who have deleted it I'm like it's uncomfortable why do you think I want to tell you emotional mathematics if you use my life if you write something I'll just say I single parent all my child and all my kids all know my life like my life Got me here in the summer.
28:34and I will try and leverage that if I had to I always feel that you have to say that you have to say what is it? I said that I have to say that I can't say that I can't say my happiness my happiness is the most important for me when I am at peace with myself the world that is what is how did this happen then transformation give me 2-3 secrets that you did so there was genuinely a thyroid fluctuation which I won't get into details which I did a full blood work with and I realized I had to take something to control that level which for 15-20 years I didn't feel that I was living with this problem because I still wonder how much I am doing why not lose my weight?
29:30Why when I sit on scale, my needle doesn't move? And when it moves, I was also going to Viva Meier, Health Pass, I was going to go everywhere. I never used to lose weight. When I corrected the levels, and then I went on something called OMAD, which is called One Meal A Day, OMAD. It was very difficult for 7 days. Then it became for 7 months, I did OMAD, One Meal A Day. I ate one meal.
30:03I did this for 6-7 months at a stretch. Rigorously. Regorously. Relentlessly. I kept up no gluten, no sugar and no lactose. I'm mildly lactose intolerant. I'm mildly. so I have almond milk I have eaten in the blood last one one and a half months I feel that I have to put on some weight so I brought in lactose little bit and I brought in carbohydrates in the form of rice gluten I didn't eat so I brought in these two elements and I started doing weight training and I'm playing paddle okay you you said something which I didn't understand and that was that people don't know my reality which technically is the case with everything but people have made a perception about me so in the past 15 years if you were not an insider or nepo all this stuff how did your perception make a perception I don't know like when did this happen when do you think this happened I don't know because 15 years is very young like if you actually look at the industry any industry in 15 years what kind of insider is an insider I was always because my father who is the film industry but when I feel that their soul will be angry that I have nepotism and I have nepotism that I have said that my father has only combated failure and the first time but yes foot in the door got me because of that but that is in every profession and I feel like Papa
31:56He took a chance, he took a risk on his son who was making his first film. I was making a big film, so we were also staying at home and buying him. After that, I don't know, I think in the beginning of Coffee with Karan, there was a strange reputation that I am a human being. People know the real person I am, the true human being that I really am. I cannot claim to be any kind of human being on my own na I can say I am myself I can say something else who are my friends who are my close people they know me they know me they are been found people who don't know they have made their own way many people get to meet their way they are nothing like we imagined you to be so I said but why did you imagine otherwise they have made a imagination a narrative spread and for narrative people believe or not believe or not they see through all this and realize that maybe he's a good guy you know and he means well he has a big heart and a warm demeanor and some feel the exact opposite I can't go to everything because I'm a kind of person and if I'm not I'm a character certificate demand I'm just with my my hard work and I'm I want to work hard on my own.
33:18And one thing I believe very strongly in karma. I believe that karma points are very abundant to you. Because your karma is your way. And I believe that very very strongly. That karma is my biggest religion. I feel that I should never hurt anyone. Come in the way of anyone. Or people say that it has destroyed his career. I haven't done anything. I have just done my work. This is the belief of people. Why are they so many? I will tell you. for her research and obviously you see 500 reels on Instagram for her research I was looking at what are the most misunderstood things about Karan Johar controversial things which are which she always denies or answers I was just trying to do my research positive negative both and everywhere they know that they destroyed her career they destroyed her they have all the eclipse why this clutter is everywhere I don't know I suppose negativity also travels positivity doesn't if I have a lot of people do not see but if I have a bad so many comments on Raaj Shamani so there are many comments Karan Johar said this happened suppose I walk out and say it was like the worst experience of my life being on Raaj Shamani's podcast that will be 1000 comments if I go out and say I had one of the best experiences talking to Raaj 100 comments or 50 comments here, she has to become now, it's a fashion you feel like you're wrong you're right, you're right I feel with with I feel like this this is a good my perspective that love me or hate me I'm okay, just don't be indifferent to me so if you're talking about me that means I should matter so discussions you have I have worked with every actor I can give you detailed analysis data in my films which people have taken with us and which careers which are outsiders which are not part of industry I have never got credit from the beginning of my career I can tell you of people who I have worked with who have flourishing careers today in the industry which are industry which is a outsider outsider.
35:43But why do I go to this list? I can give you. We launched a 25 director. There are 50 actors whose first film in the first film people say that Adarsh Gaurav is so big actor. He's so much better talent. His first film, my name is Khan. There are certain actors who have done I've worked with every actor who have done their best work with us in defining work. I don't want to mention names here because those people know who I'm doing. and I feel that why I'm going to make a list who are technicians, who are production designers, artists, creative artists, designers are all the first step we have taken together.
36:21I have encouraged them. So today they are doing their job and they are a great profession. Nobody is watching that. Nobody is watching that data. Because that is positive data. Maybe this is why the main star is usually someone from the family. but main star what happens one star is a little so director captain of the ship why do you say that you don't have no meaning I'm saying people talk about it people talk about it people talk about it I'm saying I'm saying if I have launched 20 outside directors directors are meant to be captains of the ship captain of the ship no big thing agreed then why not do that you're doing actor is not the sole component of a success of a film if I say still star because of a film I'm diminishing the 100 people who have worked on that film captain of the ship if you are an outsider then you can give me credit why don't you give me credit why don't you give me credit if you are a credit if you are a credit because you have a NEPO kit launch to get then there are 50 people who are outsiders who are working on the set who get their passion and who get their passion that is full of passion that is why the house is going to go then you can give me credit is it safe to say that 50 outsiders go up 50 jobs or 50 different things but at the same time actors you only launch five top actors not at all who are the stars again that is not true that is again not true people talk about it I don't I am not I have brought Varun and Alia student of the year then directors were not considered nepotism directors were not considered when we were when we were super stars children were considered launch directors were not considered stars they were directors children but still chalo le lo industry ka hissa hai who assistant da or Alia ko mein mila tha via somebody lekin Siddharth Malhotra bhi to star tha us film mein uske baare mein aap discuss kyun nai kar raha hai isi sal mein aap kisie or ki baat star launch karo ge que aap agar janvi or sara nania ki baat karo ge to Laksh Lalwani ka launch hua hai kill mein a 52 karore rupee film was made on a film entirely on his shoulders he's an outsider mein usko kahi se nai jantar who has the debut of the year who has two films and has two films and you don't do that why don't you do that when he has the AIFA award he has the award he is going to be in awards this year he is getting work why is there not one article scroll down an outsider was given a launch by Karan Johar today Raghav Juhiyal is the biggest break kill and I don't have this industry Can you say, I'm not a guy.
39:05I'm a girl. I'm a girl. I'm a girl. I want to get out of it. I'm a outsider. He is. I'm not a outsider. Why do you think I'm not a guy? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Because I just say, I think, I have got analytics. If you have data person, I'm gonna give data. I'm going to introduce a new actor. He's also an outsider. He's not a fan. a accept. Why? Because you know that when your picture looks like you saw your note, or your not sign, you have to ent mistakenly & instagram feed. You'll get that point, and then you cut thepunkt.

40:13You can get what?
40:20A problem! You can't do anything like that.
40:48is it also because star kid ko multiple opportunities milti hai flop ke baad and an outsider ko nahi milti hai is that the conversation obviously a star kid sometimes by virtue of his or her foot in the dawn ko mooky milti hai lekin eventually honor se ap mokabla nahi kar sakti hai agar aapke ander honor hai talent hai to today will you call Alia Bhatt just a star kid who's done well she's an incredible talent she's an outstanding talent Alranbir Kapoor is an outstanding talent. Those two are technically NEPO kids. Don't they deserve their success? Have you seen the hard work they put into their craft?
41:31So I'm like, while Shah Rukh Khan and Mr. Bachchan are the big journey of outsiders, they're also great insiders who have done great work. So, all work. But all, what do they all? And you can't, Mr. Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan are living legends. You can't even compare anyone to them. They are beyond comparison. they are the benchmark goal standard but one thing in common of everybody who is doing well is their talent today if you are consistent or talented then you can you will go in fact you will never meet with complete success if you have talent and you can argue that many talented people are not successful because it's one component that's the achievement
42:27is not possible. It's not possible. My career, if you look at me, there are a million people more talented than me. I'm telling you. Who deserve to be where I am today. I'm not saying I'm just saying I'm just a person, George Junor and talent. I'm just a person because of my career. but I have not written my own I have written my own I have written my own and I have written my own and I have written my own and now I have written my own and now I have written my own I have done what I have done I am just doing my work I am at least being responsible to my destiny Does this bother you? When people ask so many questions and ask them You know Actually Raj I have reached a point that I am numb I am not over it I am just numb to it I am indifferent now a little bit to their hate because i feel if i everyday take that heat in mage season if i dont id whenever i take nedxor 지 endging nofret kon caso really does something needlesslyен and then my heworth self negative will not be i have to alarms and may notALD i want to give my energy to do my kids when i want them to lie if they are father positive insana positive benda hai whoosh insana hai whoo whoosh mizaz ka hooga toho whooshi on me aayegi myre bache bhaut khush bache hai and mein wo vata waran aapne ghar mein wohi nda nha chaatau you mentioned ki koji nai chaatau ki unke piche aagay piche ghoom ho gym tak follow ka roo this follow ka roo yeh bhaut bhaar to paid bhi hozaya na it's like a created machinery of course to loog jinn ke aaz bhaut paysa hota hai wo create kiraatau aisa a artificial bubble and then it's just like frequency illusion that you can see that you can see who is insider or outsider or side or left or right or who who can pick that is somebody that who is only insiders who is a production house I do know I'm asking random question as a production house as somebody who is launching you put more budget which probably is a star kid which you know कि इसके पर जादा curiosity होगी कि इसका बच्चा अचा है कम budget लगा तो क्योंकि उनकी awareness already जादा है तो to promote a person who doesn't have an audience recall for whatever reason उन पे ज्यादा आपको energy, पैसो की बात अलग है, energy डालनी पड़ती है ताकि मैं कैसे सबको this one that I feel like I'm a new actor.
44:56But for marketing outside, PR, marketing, social. You have to promote somebody whose name or name is not. Obviously, you have to, for example, to put Lux out there, more energy has to go. You have to know that this is the first film. This is a new actor. This is the first film. You know it, because it's a good job. It's a better job. So, you have to put more of your marketing muscle to promote that. In fact, that's what even people don't realize that we're doing a lot of work there on an outsider because you have to make sure that people are aware. Awareness build is the most difficult in today's time.
45:37There's so much clutter in sound. There's so many things happening. How do you break through that clutter? Who do you think will become the next big star? One or two people who you really like? I feel the entire generation of good actors that I'm seeing. Like I've seen a trailer, I really liked it. It's a film of Vijoy Nabiyaar. Anandar I produce. I think that Lux is a tremendous talent. I think that there's a great star potential. I think that he can go very high. Like Raghav's work was so great. What a solid actor. He was very superb. I like Agastya Ananda. I like Vedang Raina. There are many actors.
46:18I still feel very strongly that people when Suhana Khan eventually will see in August, I have seen her as a student I have seen Suhana's student films I have seen the work that she has put into her craft and I feel like people when they realize that the artist is the one who will come out and she is doing a film with her father King and I am glad that the world will see that on a large scale that Suhana has a terrific talent and she is going to do phenomenally well and I am not saying that because she is my child I'm saying that because I believe that there is a massive solid artist in Sohana Khan and the big, the big, the big, I don't know if I'm supposed to even say this but I believe in Aryan Khan's directorial talent.
47:07He's doing that, his show is coming on Netflix. I don't want to say anything about it because he's very angry. He's very private. But what I'll say is that watch out. He's going to do. there's a king, there will be a prince. Oh, wow. And why do you say so? I know so. I say that I'm saying that I'm saying that you watch the show. Give you one reason why do you say so. Because I've seen the show. What other reason can I give you? What did you like about that show? I love he has an individualistic voice as a director. He's not anything like you expect. Like you expect, you feel that Shah Rukh Khan's son will be this, how to work.
47:49It's his personality. It's his personality.
47:55He doesn't carry the baggage of his father. He doesn't carry the baggage of his legacy. He's a man who works 20 hours. He works his job. He works his job. He works his job. When I saw him, if he's a board game, a sports game, or a massive series, he's winning. than I because he likes to win and he takes losses personally and he gets even more motivated by successes. He's a rare personality type and in many ways he's like the first born to all of us. We all had a parental instinct kick from the RN to the birth. I took him to my heart and went to the gardens. So when I see him, I direct him to the point where I see him, I see him an out of body experience.
48:47I can't believe that this is RN and then I thought that this is the child that was my goal and now I do it so you know like I feel like I feel like I feel like I feel like I feel like I feel like so I can say for sure do you feel do you have fear of getting replaced now me me Do you feel that I will not be relevant a little bit Maybe my work will go or not Do I fear irrelevance? Yes I fear irrelevance As I told you right When I said that I can deal with nafrat and love
49:31I can deal with that Yes I do fear irrelevance And I feel like The only way to fight that feeling Is to constantly be relevant And to be relevant You have to acknowledge the brilliance of others how will you then get there if I myself in a bubble and I don't see other people's work if I don't understand what I don't understand if I don't understand what I do if I don't acknowledge how do I do it then I don't know as a studio head as a producer as a filmmaker so if I have street business seen chawa business seen in three films I have studied and observed academically and appreciated and applauded all of them.
50:15It's important for me to understand why and then move ahead. But I can't continue. The only way to stay relevant is to be aware of your atmosphere. Is to be aware of your surroundings. Not live in your... A lot of creative successful people sometimes who are in their bubble. Who are in their zone. Who is in their own way. Who doesn't want to go out of their way. Because they don't see anyone else's work. They just want to do their work. do people who want to work, who is probably right or not, but those people who are, will not be relevant forever. To be relevant, you have to absorb yourself in other people's lives also.
50:52You have to get everyone. You have to get everyone. You have to get everyone. And you can't talk age-wise, I'm not status-wise. Talk down to anyone. If someone is 20-year-old who is giving advice, then you listen. Listen to everyone. Do yourself. Listen to everyone. Do you have any insecurities?
51:10Yeah, many. Which one's the biggest? I mean, I'm insecure of people. I mean, of course, I'm insecure of failing. I'm insecure of that feeling of failure. Like, I'll give an example. Rocky and Ronnie was released in 2023. July. I was coming after seven years as a filmmaker. I hadn't directed since Aidel Hai Mushkili, which was in 2016. team. So, it was a tough time. It was a very cluttered release time. Oppenheimer and Bobby came. He was a bad guy. We were stuck in the background. And a trailer was not accepted the way I thought it was. I think it was giving the trailer a vibe. It was been that and done that film.
51:59I had a feeling this story. Because I am very aware. So, I am hyper aware. I am hyper aware that this is something. Where is it? So I was very nervous that what if I fail? And while I told you failure is okay, I'll deal with failure, but my directorial failure has one very big repercussion, which I was afraid of. That if I fail directorially then it's very tough for people to take me seriously at work. Because I give my life a day, this is my job. If I listen to my song, script, performance, I give my life a day. I don't want to see that where I can see that this person himself I don't want to see that what I'm saying I don't want to see that I don't want to see that disrespect and that sense of humiliation of insecurity I don't need that I know that I can make this statement life will probably give me that feeling but I want to fail directorially I don't mind feeling as a producer I don't want to fail as a director I think that is my biggest insecurity and how do you fight that I don't know how can you ever predict success in creativity but I will try that whatever I do it will go out because I have actually directorially I have never failed my every picture is in so I in various levels but they have all run and they have been profitable to us and have been given the status of a hit film I am very fearful of feeling as a filmmaker, as a director.
53:39I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. I always listen to my heart. I've always wanted to listen to my heart. I've always wanted to do it. I've always wanted to listen to my mind. Two years later, I've written a film. I've produced a film. I've already written a film. It's better script. But I've finally read it. I've always said, what do I do? This is bad action. I've never done it. I've acted in commerce. I was like, I don't see my artistry. I left that picture. I gave someone else to give you. Go and go and live your life. I don't want to make it. Because I thought, this is a bad action.
54:16If I'm going to make it, then I'm going to make it. Then what I'm going to make it. What I'm going to make it. What I'm going to make it. What I'm going to make it. I feel I have to bring my own strengths to the table. And I was just thinking about it. that. It was my dream strategy. My heart was not back. So, my heart was back. So, I think that now I should quit now because I am the success of my life. No. I want to die making movies. I want to die on a set. Because you said that the most fear is that my directorial movie flopped not to be able to do it. But Raj, maybe this day, when it flop will be, I'll be insecure.
55:03But when it gets worse, it gets worse. I'm scared now, because it doesn't happen. Just as to fear losing a parent, I lost a parent. The worst is over. I always say, what is worst? When he's been turning, he's stressed, he's stressed. I said, I've lost my father 21 years ago. For me, that was the lowest point of my life. What is this? I've never felt like I should leave Bollywood at any point. Lowest point, worst point. Never. I love this industry. It's given me everything. Where else can you sing, dance, laugh and cry and still be at work? It's the most beautiful place in the world. Whether it's Bollywood or Indian film industry, this place has given me everything.
55:51My name, my life, my omAshi, my Dha'dikan are attached estimates so this industry and it's a beautiful place no matter what anybody says and the people say they have take support and they certainly hurt the without realizing who are saying and doing also is great I feel it's the most beautiful place guide me to Your guide me about your creative process because now you have talked about directorial that I have not directed movie flopped. They've all made money. They've all been hit in their own ways. What process is like how do you I'll tell you when I look at your movies and I'm talking about from the time of let's say I don't know if you directed that movie or no but it's your movie only.
56:48I directed it. You directed it.
56:54so all of these movies in I have felt till now that when I watch it I think it's an excellent movie fun, fun, fun, end, end 2-3 years later 5 years later I was like oh this was a reality and it just hits later how can you make such relatable movies every time because everything can't happen to you like kubh kushy kubh gum it's like a hardcore relate on so many different levels and sometimes pwery story relate نہیں hodhi movies mein but kuch kuch scenes it feels like it exactly they hit home life observations se mein banaata hoon mein shayid tum tum shayid is baat ko observe nih kar pahoghe lekin meinne aapko observe kar liya your mannerism your body language I'm an observant person by nature I have completely observed this camera this camera's aesthetic observed everything is absorbed in my head my writing is inspired from my life everything Anjali's character is that awkward girl that was the life island so somewhere that penetrated through then I grew up reading Archie comics so the aesthetic first half of Archie comics then I loved, absolutely loved a film called Parent Trap so that Parent Trap angle came in the second half so a lot of the life I led I mean Yash Chopra, Bhakt so climax, Chani this is a break up I am going to give you you know but if you look at the picture you have to understand that this is it but this is all my childhood inspirations and dreams everything came in then when the picture came in there was a certain kind of gratitude I felt to my upbringing I felt I needed to make a film for my parents is my ode to my own mom and dad it's all about loving your parents it's because I believe that we are we are pillars and definitions of our parental legacy, emotional legacy, to basically that was my ode then I feared losing a parent and I wrote and ironically my father passed away right after that and then when he passed away I felt I lost my policing because he was center even though he was always scripts I felt now I can make a slightly risky film because Papa now I can allow or disallow not to do this so I made it because I was obsessed with the idea of infidelity not that I had a relationship or I had to cheat someone but I always feel like when people get married or committed relationship which are directly out there, what will happen in their head?
59:49There are so many complications. It's a mistake. And that's the stress. It's cheating. Infidelity, there's a stress. Stability, there's a bottom. But it's a calm. Infidelity, there's a passion. But it's a tension. And this is a blurred line between love and stress. Passion and infidelity and stability. These all the things.
1:00:17I wrote Kabi Alvida and I wanted to make it after that I felt very bad that I felt three films in the award. So I wanted to make it I wanted to make it because I wanted to make it because I felt very bad and I felt very bad and I felt incredible content was the cinema chal raha tha, joh bharhi bharkam chizhe kaya whi rahe thay and kuch alak kar raha thay. So I had certain beliefs. I'm a secular person and my secular self wanted me to tell the story of my name is Khan. My name is Khan. I wanted two reasons for that. I wanted to make a film. The one was that I really believe in the power of secularism.
1:01:03The other one, I wanted to make a award. So I wanted to make a film. I wanted to make a film. I wanted to make a film. I wanted to make a film. fair award jita houseville so my for that then I felt that I just work with stars so I said okay I launch new commas then that narrative was not nothing that everyone said brave decision that Karan is launching three new kids after working with only mega stars so I have that challenge then my heart took computer.
I felt it healed me you know تب بہت سال اس کے بعد میں کچھ اور میں historical بنانا چاہتا تھا پھر وہ نہیں بنی for various reasons اور پھر میں نے چاہا کہ let me go back to making a happy film because I want to feel happy یہ pandemic کے بعد تھا pandemic end ہو رہی تھی بہت لوگ گھٹن اور loss and pain سے گزر رہے تھے میں بس خوشیاں دینا چاہتا تھا لوگوں کو so I made Rocky or Annie so ہر فلم کے پیچھے there is a reason an emotional subtext or a circumstantial subtext but ہے ہر فلم کے پیچھے ایک چھپی کہانی ضرور ہے and ان سب موویز سے پہلے starting میں آتا ہے دھرما لوگو ہر کسی دماغ میں وہ music کے ساتھ چھپ چکا ہے right what's the story behind that that's the chorus of کچھ کچھ ہوتا ہے اس لوگوں کی کوئی story کیا ہے اس کا مطلب نہیں بند گئی تھی مجھے کوئی زیادہ I would like to tell you that there is no interesting story just that I wanted that اعلان
1:03:57ایک تارفہ پیار because you just talked about it کیا ہوتا ہے کیا فیل کرتی ہے ریالیٹی میں آپ نے کہلا وہ تو اپنے مووی میں دکھا دیا پوزیٹیو لائٹ میں دکھا دیا پیار کمبخت کوئی چیز بنی نہیں ہے نہ بنی گی بہت لوگ کہتے ہیں نا دل میں درد ہوتا ہے نا وہ فیزیکل پین ہے جو ہارٹ اٹیک کا والا پین نہیں ہے لیکن ہے ایک درد ہے آپ کو انگزائیٹی فیل ہوتی ہے آپ سانس نہیں لے پاتے آپ اپنے ورسٹ ورزن آف یار سیلف بن جاتے ہو جب آپ کا پیار ایک طرفہ ہوتا ہے میں نے وہ سین اس لیے اے دل ملا کہ وہاں درد ہوتا ہے فیزیکل پین ہے کسی نے کسی نے کچھ پھاری چیز آپ کے چیز پر ڈال دیا دل کے اوپر ڈال دیا وہ فیلنگ ہے وہ آپ فون دیکھتے رہتے ہو آن لائن وہ انسان ہے یا نہیں فون ان کا آیا کیوں نہیں وہ کہاں ہوں گے نہیں ہوں گے آپ کا مائنڈ is always distracted it is torture ایک طرف پیار then when you have this realization کہ let me take it this way you know it's always میرے ساتھ یہ ہوتا ہے کہ میں بہت جب گر جاتا ہوں تو میں اسی درد کو ایک نئی دشا دے دیتا ہوں اور اس نئی دشا نے مجھے actually empower کیا when I looked at one-sided love as a power of of a feeling that I had یہ power ہے it's empowered me then I started letting go because ویسے وہ پیار میرا ویسے بھی تھا ہی نہیں but ڈرد ہوتا ہے it's the worst feeling in the world مجھے بہت empathy ہوتی ہے ان لوگوں کے ساتھ جو ایک طرف پیار کی گلیوں سے گزر رہے ہیں how do you come out of that وقت وقت کی خاصیت یہی ہے کہ وہ بیٹ جاتی ہے چلا جاتا ہے accept کرتے ہو fully کبھی accept کیا بلکل accept کیا نہیں نہیں hope نہیں رہتی میں کسی چیز کو overtly romanticize نہیں کرتا جو چلی گئی جو بیٹ گئی وہ بات تھی میں کیا رومانٹسائز کروں جو وہ میں درست تھا ہی نہیں موویز میں تو کرتے ہو وہ تھوڑی exaggerated of reality ہوتی ہے زندگی میں تو تھوڑا practical ہونا بات ہے you said expectations for us to live by those have not met سب مجھے بولتے ہیں تم نے تو ہمیں پیار کرنا سکھایا ہمیں پریم کہانیاں بتائی ہیں لیکن وہ پریم میری زندگی میں کہاں آئی ہے وہ ایک ویکیوم ایک ویکیوز پلیس جو hole ہے جو رہ گیا آپ کی definition کیا ہے love کی love it's complicated راج love کیا ہے love feeling ہے sensation ہے affection ہے attraction ہے لیکن سب سے زیادہ ہے اس کا realization آپ کو تب آتا ہے جب میں نے اے دل میں کہا ہے جب کوئی تیسرا آ جاتا ہے آپ کسی انسان کی قریب ہو اور آپ اسے tag نہیں دیتے آپ کو خود نہیں پتا کہ میں کیا feel کر رہا ہوں مجھے بس اچھا لگتا ہے کہ روز میں اس انسان سے بات کروں یا call کروں لیکن ایک چانٹے کی طرح جب آتا ہے وہ feeling جب کوئی تیسرا آجاتا ہے to threaten this relationship تب آپ کو بات ہے شاید یہ پیار ہی ہے it's always a third person that makes you realize what love really is when you are interacting suppose you are interacting with somebody you all are having a great time chatting, chatting, chatting, chatting, chatting interacting, messaging کچھ ہے, zone ہے but آپ tag نہیں دینا چاہتے آپ I love you نہیں بولنا چاہتے کیونکہ it's too early it's too soon یا شاید ego ہے آپ کا یا شاید آپ زیادہ commitment phobic ہو کچھ بھی ہو لیکن if you want to put that person in that if you want to be caught in a spot کہ وہ ایک تیسرا angle کوئی آ جائے اگر کوئی کہے جس کے ساتھ آپ بات کر وہ کہے oh somebody finds me interesting and I might be going out to that person you know و جب و اس رات کو جب آپ کو نین نہیں آئے گی تب آپ کو بتا چاہے وہ چانٹا آپ کو لگا ہے اور آپ کو پیار جل جاتا ہے آپ کو پیار ہو گیا ہے ابھی آپ acknowledge کرو and now do something about it express yourself تو تب تک آپ کی cool acting چل رہی ہے اور بہت لوگی کسا ہوتے ہیں سب cool ہوتے ہیں یا امنار تو کمیرے امنار I'm like playing it cool we're in a this relationship situation کیا ہے یہ چیزیں کیا ہے situation کیا ہے وہ کوئی تیسرے کو آنے دو نا وہ جگہ آپ کی کوئی اور لے لے تو ابھی آپ کا سیٹویشن شپ جو ہے نا وہ شپ بلکل دوب جائے گا تو وہ سیٹویشن وہ کچھ اور ہی ہو جائے گا پیار جو ہے نا پیار ایک ایک مسائل ہے ایک طاقت ہے ایک پاہور ہے اس کے کوئی ریپلیسمنٹ اینجی نہیں ہو سکتی پیار کو کون ریپلیس کر سکتا ہے پیار کی ریپلیسمنٹ ہوئی نہیں سکتی ہو ہی نہیں سکتی are you calling jealousy love no the feeling of jealousy realizes you about love it's not even jealousy it's the feeling that what is my place might be filled by someone else it could start with jealousy but if you are practical about that feeling you don't need to feel jealous you have to own up to that this is love for me maybe the person I am feeling that for doesn't feel the same back for me that might start the trigger could be jealousy but you should instead of feeling jealous you should realize کہ میں یہ کیوں فیل کر رہا ہوں کیونکہ actually یہ معبت ہے یہ پیار ہے مجھے کیوں یہ insecurity ہو رہی ہے کہ یہ مجھ سے چلا جائے گا تو اس عشق کو acknowledge کرنا will be the intelligent thing to do پھر کوئی reciprocate نہیں کر رہا ہے تو پھر یہ ایک طرف obsession نہیں ہے اور ایک طرف obsession ہو سکتا ہے پھر obsession is not a right thing جب میرا پیار جو تھا وہ ایک طرف پیار تھا it never went into an obsessive nature it never went into toxic nature ان چیزوں سے میں بالکل میں خلاف ہوں I don't like toxicity to enter a pure emotion even if it's one-sided love میرا جو پیار تھا نا وہ بے شمار تھا وہ پیار تھا ایک طرفہ تھا پر کبھی negative نہیں تھا میں نے کبھی نہیں چاہا کہ وہ انسان جو مجھے واپس پیار نہیں نہیں دے پا رہا وہ انسان سے میں نفرت کروں یا میں کسی کچھ برا چاہوں میں نے بس ایک دن تھان لیا کہ یہ پیار میرا نہیں تھا اور نہیں ہوگا اور مجھے بس اس بات سے میں بس جتنی جلدی کر پاؤں اتنا بہتر ہے تو میں نے فلم لکھ ڈالی and that was cathartic for me and wow I'm just thinking about something because I'm connecting your story with so many movies now all little pieces from here and there and dialogues چل رہے ہیں but you mentioned کہ کبھی بھی آپ نے ایسا پیار نہیں کیا کہ وہ toxic ہو جائے are you aware of your toxic traits do you know about them I don't believe I have any toxic traits I really don't and I'm not saying it because I'm a perfect person I have my weaknesses I don't think I have any toxic trait because I don't have hate in me I don't feel jealousy I feel envy I don't feel hate I feel indifference I feel love I feel compassion I never feel I hate this person جتنا کوئی مجھے جیسا کوئی لوگ ہے جو مجھے بالکل جو مجھے ایفیکٹ انہوں نے میری زندگی کو ایفیکٹ کیا نیگٹیوی میرے بارے میں چیزیں کہیں ہیں but I don't hate anybody میں ان کو I always say تیرا تجھ کو ارپنڈ کیا لاغے میرا your karma تم اپنے karma کو دیکھ رو بھئی but relationship میں ہم سب کا کوئی نہ کوئی trait ہوتا ہے which ends up becoming like میں unapologetically ایسا ہی ہوں and that is I am not an over possessive person I'm not an over jealous person I'm actually بہت ہی شانت قسم کا calm zen person ہوں میں کبھی hyper نہیں ہوتا and when I'm hyper I'm hyper about little things like efficiency inefficiency bothers me at work کہ میں نے اگر کہا کہ مجھے blue mug چاہیے اور آپ مجھے green mug چاہیے میں چار بار آپ کو کہہ چکا کہ مجھے blue mug چاہیے اور آپ نے green mug ڈال دے کہ ہاں green ہے that'll bother me ورکار آپ نے کہا کہ یار شوٹنگ ہی نہیں ہو سکتی کیونکہ سیٹ کوئی بارش ہو گئی ہے بہت بڑا سٹارم ہو آیا ہے ٹھیک ہے آپ نیچر سے آپ تھوڑی لڑ پاؤ گے چھوٹی چیزیں مجھے زیادہ irradiate کرتی ہیں ورنہ میں بہت کام لیم لیکن I lose my temper it's once in a year اور بہت ہی stupid چیز کو لے کے میں سڈنی گستا ہو جاؤں گا بڑے چیزوں میں بڑے situations میں بڑے حالات میں بڑے stress levels میں میں بہت کام انسان ہوں you know in fact میرے ساتھ ہوا بھی تھا جب بہت چیزیں ہو رہی تھیں میرے بارے میں میرے خلاف social media میں television channels news channels میں لوگ بات کر رہے تھے تو سب پوچھتے تھے how are you and I'm like yeah fine so once a really dear friend I won't mention his name he came to my house he said I want to sit with you he sat had dinner we chatted 2 گنٹوں کے بعد he said تو ٹیک ہے میں سلام ہی ٹیک ہوں he said تجھے پتا ہم ہے anything you need you combine to talking you're seeming fine.
1:12:55Everybody's feeling that you're fine. I said yes, I am fine. So they said but why are you fine? Look at what's going on around you. There's a storm, there's a tornado, hurricane ہے social media پہ. I said بیچ جائے گی نا. کہاں ٹکے گی? یہ hurricane جو ہے eventually there will be a lull after this storm. میں اس لل کا انتظار کر رہا ہوں. storm ہے تو ہے میں کیا کر سکتا ہوں? میرے پاس lifeboat ابھی نہیں ہے بھائیا. تو میں میں میں سٹرم میں ہوں let the storm destroy me I will emerge tell me are you a boat or an anchor I am an anchor do you know there was a study done do you know what boat and anchors do no but I am going by my self understanding of this analogy I mean I am an anchor an anchor is somebody who can help a boat a sail I can be an anchor I am uncomfortable being just the boat no in your relationships everywhere are you the anchor yeah yeah always so it's there was a study done I don't remember exact university so usually you directly randomly people ask boat or anchor and majority people choose their answers that's usually their personality and their closest relationships they're opposite so let's say if you are an anchor so you are the one who holds everybody centers together you are the reason why people come together and then there are boats which are explorers who are going to be and they are going to be and you like usually a boat and anchor are like very good combination together so are you anchor in your relationship and then people around you are boats I don't know I can't speak for others but I know that I feel like an anchor your friends also I feel like and I think if you speak to some of my dearest friends they'll tell you that I'm probably an anchor but I'm not saying they're boats maybe they're anchors too two anchors can also be yeah of course but majority time i have a feeling anchors attract other anchors where does usually boat and anchor go very high in my case i won't respect a boat too much if it constantly needs an anchor and is not after a while i'll be like if i'm only anchoring you and you're just boating away then isn't that a one way relationship a boat sometimes when you over anchor a boat a boat also gets over dependent and doesn't do anything an anchor also needs an anchor بہت philosophical بات ہوئی but yeah true I am usually I believe I am boat in my life and the closest relationships I have with my brother with my partner with my mom and dad like usually and they are all anchors people who are close to me and it's very and I thought but you are very then you are privileged that you can be a smooth sailing boat with so many angles because extremely privileged with good relationships around yeah I want to touch touch wood touch wood God bless and made that continue do you feel lonely all the time because this part missing all the time all the time many a time I'm a lonely person I mean I'm in the world I don't know who's there but in the world in the world تنہائی actually but I feel it of so many people there were lines written so beautifully in Jagjit Singh کا ایک غزل تھا کہ ہر طرف ہر جگہ بے شمار آدمی پھر بھی تنہائیوں کا شکار آدمی you know and I believe it that most people are lonely I feel آپ بھیڑ میں بہت تنہا لوگوں کو پاؤ گے کیونکہ لوگ people they cannot replace your sense of loneliness if you are a lonely person you will be a lonely person and even a relationship might not fill that void I might be lonely in a relationship I am a lonely person and I have two beautiful children an absolutely lovely mother some great relationship friendships I am blessed with the friends I have they are all family and still you are lonely yes کیوں ایسے یہ سمجھ نہیں ہے if there are people because میں ان لوگوں سے میں سے نہیں ہوں جو اپنے daily خیال یا emotions کا اظہار کر سکتا ہوں میں نہیں کر پاتا میں نہیں بول پاتا کہ میری actual feeling کیا ہے مجھے نہیں لگتا کہ میں کسی اور مجھے ہمیشہ لگتا ہے کہ وہ میں کسی پر وہ added responsibility نہیں دینا چاہتا وہ بوجھ نہیں بنا چاہتا ہے ان کو میرے خیالوں سے میں ڈوبانا نہیں چاہتا میں بولنا ہی نہیں چاہتا میں اندر ہی اندر رکھ لیتا ہوں and when you have a lot of thoughts that you don't share you invariably become lonely کیونکہ پھر آپ کے خیال جو ہے وہ آپ کے دوست بن جاتے اور وہ تنہائی آپ کو چوپتی نہیں ہے آپ اسے بھی اپنا لیتے ہو do I like being lonely?
1:17:55yes to answer your question I'm a lonely person but I'm not an unhappy person مجھے اپنی تنہائی بہت پسند ہے and یہ اس لیے پسند ہے because you don't like to share things with others or because جو بھی میں بولتا ہوں لوگ دھنگ سے سمجھتے نہیں نہیں I don't like to share and why is that because اپنی دل کی بات کہنے سے کوئی اور اپنا نہیں ہو جاتا بات پرائے ہو جاتی ہے اور میں اپنی بات کو پرائے نہیں کرنا چاہتا nice I'm like you in this case yeah and I always question is it a bad thing I don't think so I think my thoughts eventually become things like the secret suggests but my thoughts are also my own and I like to keep them to myself I'm territorial about my thoughts مجھے پسند ہے کہ میرے خیال میرے اپنے ہیں اور میں ان خیال روز کے خیال, روزماری کے خیال روز دن کے خیال میں شیئر کرنا ہی نہیں چاہتا جو چیز میں شیئر کرنا چاہتا ہوں وہ میں کرتا ہوں وہ کبھی کبھی ایکسکلوسی بھی نہیں ہوتا میں نے پچار لوگوں کے ساتھ شہر کر لیا پانچ لوگوں کے ساتھ شہر کر لیا I am very in touch with my feelings تو جب میں therapy sessions بھی میں نے کیے ہیں میں anxiety سے بھی گزرا ہوں anxiety کا medication میں نے لی ہے کیونکہ that needed to be addressed it was at one juncture in my life I needed to address it but therapy sessions میں نہیں کرتا ہے anymore because میں واقعی میں کوئی trained therapist نہیں ہوں لیکن میں خود کا therapist بن سکتا ہوں میں problem آگے ڈال کے اس کا solve میں ڈھونڈ سکتا ہوں اور میں اس problem کے گھڑ پہ بھی جا سکتا ہوں کہ یہ problem کیوں ہوئی ہے میرے ساتھ میں نے یہ کروایا ہے اب اس سے مجھے repair کرنا ہے تو I know the root of the issue and I have the solve of the issue and I talk to myself about the issue and I find a way out تو therapy کی ضرورت ابھی نہیں ہے ہاں social anxiety دو تین سال سے آئی ہے Ironically For a person Social anxiety For you You're socially anxious I'm anxious In closed rooms With 100 people Like I feel If I don't have an outlet Like if there were 20 people in this room We are in a closed space I would be very uncomfortable But because It's just you and me And Otherwise This particular room Would have been a big red flag for me.
1:20:34But there's like a claustrophobia. Like if this was a proper shoot, I wouldn't be able to shoot. There were a hundred people in this room. I can't see window. It's not so much claustrophobia. There is an anxiety. And when I go to a party, I leave. People say I go to a party, I don't go to a party. I go to a party for 5 minutes and I go to a party. Everybody knows this about me. I'll come to a party, I'll go to a party. I don't stay. I have to stay. When I do, I've stopped throwing parties recently. I don't want to get an attendee. I don't want to get people. I don't feel I feel میں اپنے ابھی میں واقعی مجھے بہت effort ڈالنا پڑتا ہے to be a version of what they believe I am or they've met before so I have to be that sociable accessible person تو اس کی acting میں اور نہیں کر سکتا کیونکہ now I suddenly can't become ایک party میں کونے پہ بیٹھا ہوں کیونکہ میری personality نہیں رہی ہے past میں میری past میں میں ہر جگہ جاتا ہوں ہم سے ملتا ہوں ہستے کھیلتے ملتا ہوں with warmth تو ابھی مجھے وہ anxiety کہ آرے مجھے یہی کرنا ہوگا میں اس situation میں ہونے ہی نہیں چاہتا میں اس لئے چلا جاتا ہوں تو ایسا کیا ہوا کہ یہ personality پچا نہیں ہو گیا it happened to me I had an attack one day میں ایک بہت بڑا ایوینت پہ تھا ایک بہت بڑا ایوینت پہ تھا پانک اٹھا I got a panic attack an anxiety attack میں ایوینت پہ تھا اور میں سارت پر اپنیر and I could feel my hand and feet shake and a friend of mine took me to the corner and you know gave me water then I left and the first thing is I went to my doctor because I thought یہ شاید کاریک آرست ہو پتہ نہیں کیا ہے he said you're going through an anxiety attack and I met my psychologist اس کے بعد I started medication and I'm still on it میں روز کھاتا ہوں دوائی and hopefully slowly I'll wean it off but یہ mental health کا issue ہے میری ساتھ اس کے پہلے 2016 میں بھی ہوا تھا that was related a little bit to my broken heart that anxiety that was the trigger یہ پتہ نہیں عمر کے وجہ سے maybe excessive being a people pleaser trying to be a people's person can get to you اور آپ the irony is کہ وہ لوگ جسے آپ سالوں سے محبت کرتے آ رہے ہیں not لوگ as in particular people people انہی سے آپ کو ڈر لگنے لگتا ہے تو وہ آ جاتا ہے کبھی انہی سے آپ نہیں ملنا چاہتے ہیں اور میبھی psychologically I feel post covid کا یہ ایک collateral damage ہے میری personality میں آپ کی المتابda کی کوت mientras کے ساتن اشتował کیلication تح Gabe کہتا ہے تعالی فورتا ہے ضنا کوت réussi میں آپ کیل آپ کی셨나요 لığı جلال خانستر ملوگ جتل Hein کے ساتھ ربق hastے

1:27:49نہیں really worried and scared about that. But they both emerged and in fact emerged even stronger and I'm really grateful. I'm not a cricket fanatic at all but I started following matches only to watch their careers. Because I was like, what was going on? That threw me off. That episode threw me off. But other than that, whoever said what they've said, they felt they needed to say and as a host, تحیدل سے ان کو شکریہ کہ وہ میرے شہر سیٹ پے آئے میرے شو پے آئے انہوں نے جو کہنا تھا وہ کہہ دیا. I don't regret anything that they have said I don't regret anything that I should have cut I didn't cut I always respect people who say what they want yes if anybody has ever asked me to cut something out after the show I always cut it because I feel like I have come in good faith and you have asked me something you have said something that you should not have said maybe but got carried away and said I always say that anything you feel call me and I'll cut it out because that is the respect you give the guest who's come because they're a mehman you know so that is the one thing I've done but otherwise I many people say why didn't you cut this out why didn't you cut that out I'm like no they came they said it in good faith I will keep it I will not cut till they ask for me to cut something so you keep you're not do you feel what was blown out of proportion and was okay I think they spoke from their heart I thought they were and the way it was perceived on social media it was ridiculous I'm sorry I don't agree with the reaction they were beautiful they were honest they were earnest they were sincere they were beautifully in love with each other they're a wonderful couple I've known them personally now they have a gorgeous daughter I'm like respect their love story don't judge it that's all I have to say perfect okay I have 5000 more questions but I can't ask you because we'll meet for dinner and I'll ask you personal questions and you'll have to answer me off camera off camera tell you anything on camera also I've told you enough actually off camera toh baort zare baat perfect okay one last question which I ask everybody who I really put in high regards is give me one advice how can I make this better how can I make my podcast better you have observed little bit of it or maybe you've watched previous episode ever and now that you've experienced kya kar sakta so that I really learn and get better genuine advice and you can be brutal you know just to sound clever I don't want to say something because I really felt that this conversation genuinely felt relaxed I felt relaxed I like that you've already for people I feel these are things that nobody else possibly I've not been on a podcast جو یہ یہ آتا بارن یہاں set ہوا ہے تو وہ رہی ہو چکا ہے آپ میرے انٹرسٹنگ میں نے بات یہ observe بھی کیا ہے کہ میں نے کچھ چیزیں کہیں ہیں آپ واپس چلے جاتے ہو to what you want you don't go lot of times people take your last set word and go to the next then I don't have to tell you you actually listen to what I am saying because بہت ساری انٹیویز جو ہوتے ہیں وہ صرف اپنے لسٹ کے questions پوچھنا چاہتے ہیں وہ آپ کے جوابوں میں انٹرسٹ ہے زیادہ نہیں آپ واقعی انٹرسٹ ہوں so I think you've ticked many boxes Raj I'm not saying it because you asked me for feedback I have no immediate critical feedback to give you کہ آپ اسے بہتر کیا کر سکتے ہو بس یہی میں بس آپ کے لئے چاہوں گا that آج کر میں بہت podcast دیکھتا ہوں and I feel that everyone is coming to bring someone else down in a podcast sometimes and I feel some questions are leading you to that جو آپ نے نہیں پوچھا مجھ سے and I'm grateful for I just feel I wish everybody spoke their heart out but you don't have to speak about somebody else bring them down to speak your heart out.
