0:10You feel madness is healthy. Obsession is the only key to succeed in life. If you don't become a man, you won't do that.

0:27What was the first time I was brief? What was it? It took 7 minutes to make a song. The first note that I hit on the keyboard was

0:37Then, how did it happen? How did it come? So it was not supposed to be in the film, that song. The moment I started strumming it, this line came to me.

0:50Then, Moushanbi said, Can we put it in the middle? Then we did it. How did it happen? Have you experienced hard work? I've experienced heartbreak. I've seen a lot of pain from someone. Maybe it will be given to people. When a person is a person, you have time for a person. When a person is a person, you have a lot of time. Here, here. I feel lonely. I feel very lonely. I feel less of a person with power. That's why they use poetry and songs. One thing is about you. Your head is right. Sometimes in love, I think I could have been better. Unfortunately, if you are close to someone, you can show all the big things, small things, but you can show all the things less.

1:37Which love is powerful? People express that one love is unspoken, but it doesn't express it. If you don't say anything, you know that it is, it is. I have a relationship with my father. It's a very difficult thing about my father. It's a very difficult thing about my father. If my mother is a death, then my father is a death. As much as I am proud of my father, I am very difficult. If life is a game, what is one rule that you feel you should know everyone?

2:20Today everyone is making something something. Start-up or small business. Like some home decor business, some small brand, some handmade products sell. But for everyone, there is a common struggle. To reach your customers. Sometimes the tension of the vehicle is getting and sometimes the safety of the vehicle. That's why I use Porter. They handle their two wheelers with 20 kgs. And now they have launched scooters for your use.

3:00This episode is supported by Porter. Click the link in the description to know more. And now let's talk about our guest today. U.P. of a small city of a small city. Everyone thought words would be very good. lawyer but they were singer people said auditions to auditions they reject a reality show but audience came before they came normally people give up but Vishal Mishra obsession passion and hate music gave up just one song just one reality show just one TV TV पर आना यही उनका ड्रीम सबसे बड़ा था और इसी ड्रीम को लेकर वो मुंबई आये थे और आज उनके गानों की 1 billion से जादा स्ट्रीम्स है Filmfare, IFA जैसे अवार्ड उनके नाम है और उन्हें Bollywood की most loved voices में से एक कहा जाता है back to back rejection से लेकर how happened before I was giving biggest hits today's episode is about his journey.

4:10He didn't have his talent but his obsession kept him going. Let's see his whole story for this episode.

4:23Papa wanted you to become a liar. Papa wanted me to become a liar. Even I wanted because I did not until I didn't know I could write. or not. But you became a lawyer? Of course. I was good with words. Okay. That you are. We all know that. I was good with words. I was in love with words actually. I was in love with what I used to read, what I used to, whatever. Even in my school, I used to do debate and declamation. I was really into about it. But the child said that you didn't become a lawyer? No, where I come, there's no one who says that. There's expectation that you, you become the best provider of the society.

5:07And then law was supposed to be a field where you can't do anything. But this whole concept of CLAT and MBA was taking that boom at that point. My dad was an MBA. So she was the first in my family. She was in Simbiyosus Pune. Nice. So it kind of opened a door for all of us. I think whatever my life and my life was crazy after my city it was because of my village because there I got friends I got a liberal thought process first time I was away from my mom and dad and it was just beautiful I fell in love for the first time tell me more about how did you say how did you when you were a kid I was very scared why I was very scared We were very scared.

6:00We were very scared. We were very scared. Why? Now we are completely changed in the time. Now we are so scared of our parents. At that time, my father was, I was so scared to him. He was even, sometimes I was like, how are you guys? How many kids are you? I was a naughty kid. I was a naughty kid. cricket and

6:29Sachin sir I was mad for him I was watching I used to Sachin Sachin I used to sit I don't know and it was madness of another level and I wanted to play cricket so I used to like all the other boys and I was young and I think I was good so when they were sleeping I was 4 at the time i've lost all three permanent boxes and the whole Cut i came back and in my handler

7:08that's the shit and my father we all started

7:18running me and my father had this kind of relationship relationship. That's what you think everything is right. Now when I see him, from his perspective, now he's been my friend. Now he's my best friend and I can talk anything with him. But that's when it was a weird dynamic. I was scared of him. Plus I had to be dependent on him for everything. The day he was happy if he was eating water. When he was eating, I would have to work with him. Why did I not get it? I was doing it. And I was like one or two. I was like, I don't see anything in my life. And that righteousness became a big part of what my music sounds like today.

8:04Because I believe in that ethical righteousness. I believe that if you do it, it's right. And most importantly, he was a great singer. He still is a good singer. And he used to listen to some great music by Rafi Saab and Kishorda. And when he was not, I would take a cell from my car. and I used to use his Walkman and listen to all the music it was fun no no no border why did you listen to that why did you listen to that especially mathematics was very bad and the many friends were bad I feel like in life I have friends who are like you whose degree can be less than you but like you who are like you you become friends with those people so my friends were like me we were all playing cricket and no no pulser splendor passion and my father had ESD so I would have to run and run so 6th I remember you used to take that bike to my school you?

9:07yeah 6th you would have to ride bike yeah I was a baby child very baby baby baby baby like strict parents actually give birth to rebellion kids yeah it was a very you're mild rebel I must say. Mild rebel. Mild rebel. Super scared of my father. But, a few times when I was a bad number in maths, my maths teacher and my father both of them said, why don't you kill me? Why don't you kill me? I thought, how do you kill me? Papa, Papa teacher, and teacher Papa said, why don't you kill me? It was a very good set, but I think that he came from me. But, sometimes he has taught me. By the way, he has taught me.

9:49Tell me one time When you were talking about Today it was By one time We were very humble background So when I moved to Lucknow My daughter wanted to study computer science and maths So where I was born There was not computer science and maths In Kanpur We were in Lucknow So we shifted to Lucknow for my sister And it was a new place for us It was a bigger city Not as the Lucknow that we know today That's not how we were But now we grew up in Lucknow shift it was a big shift so I figured new things so my class was some Amir kids so someone is going to London someone is going to Dairadun someone is going to America and after now we came to where we came from so one day India and West Indies test match it's so hilarious man so I said I'm going to West Indies for making my class in my class I'm going to West Indies and And I gave this bowl.

10:49Now I was in school and I was sitting in a little while. I was a little girl. So the girl was getting out of the way. I said, you can't tell me about West Indies. So I gave school a bunk. And I started roaming around the street. So someone would have seen a cute girl where you're going. So someone would have called me at home. And I saw that it's time. Let's go back to my house. And I reached home.

11:23I know what is Imrti. Kuch bhi, joh bhi hotha ta. Us din ayin or UP mein bachi ko bhaiya bhaiya toh mein bhaiya baagte woe gaya ki ab papa gucch laengye. Keh teo meinne sun haap West Indies gaya aur meinne rona shur ho gaya. Tovalo ne veri kit fit uthaay aur pakey aur bhot diya us din ke din nikal ja gar se baar jhoot bolne maalik ge gege nahi ya mele ge ba ba ta

11:55ra in our house. Itachi color TV came out. Shakaala ka bum bum came out. So, there was a match I opened the new TV and if there was no wire it would have been to the national and I would have put it back. And as much as I had bent it, it was gone. And it broke. I thought that my whole world came out. I was going to go out of my house and I said, I don't have to go. it was it was it was he was he was he was he was he was he was he sacrificed for me for my sister what do you used to love about your father and one thing you used to dislike or hate I used to love everything about my father what I used to dislike is that I feel for parents you have to listen to the perspective of the kids also it's very important to listen to them especially kids that unfortunately when you give birth to your child the thing that lacks the most because there is so much love sometimes it gets shadowed by it when there is a lot of love when there is a lot of love when there is a lot of love it also happens in relations if you love someone if you are very close then there is a lot of love where you all show big things you show small things but you feel less so that's what I think every parent not just my father you should listen to your kid even if it's a three-year-old boy or a girl.

13:26Even in relations, you should listen to your girl, you should listen to your man. Because sometimes, the biggest problems are because that you're not listening. Yeah. So, maybe. Which thing you feel he missed? Did not miss. He couldn't fathom that something can happen. How? When I said to someone that I want to sing, they said, I want to make a dance. I want to make a dance. because there was no concept there was nothing our most famous man Raju Shrugas which is Raju Bihar I love him and there were so many failure stories that this bomb fell and fell it was a lot of the way that if you hit a stone it will be a struggle in a bomb it doesn't have to be able to see the stone and it's not wrong you also come from that there is a big city it has a thought process is that they just want your stability.

14:23They are in their DNA. This is our DNA. The house is different from the girls. The work of the girls is not going to be married. The first thing is that if you don't get married, you won't be married. If you don't get married, you won't be married. Look how good is the girl of the girl. How good is the girl of the girl of the girl. There won't be praise. I had a very memorable auditions. I was scared. Not of failure, but I will fail in his eyes. It mattered a lot to me. That in their eyes, I... Yes, because I was out so many times, I heard her auditions, that he also, like everybody, believed that I'm useless.

14:59I'm just doing singing because it's a lot of people think that I can sing or write, I can do a podcast. If someone has seen the Lord, then he will say, I will do a podcast. But there has to be a sense of blessing to everything that succeeds. And your parents not necessarily will get it all the time. So I don't judge them. I have no regrets about it. he's the best father that could not because he's my father I've seen a lot of fathers of other people he's a great man my father is one of the best people that you can have a conversation with and just where they come to that place you have to think so liberal that you go out of the house give the opportunity to leave the child that he can leave the law school when you take the loan and pay for his fees I think when you think it's a very good thing It's a very small thing about father.

15:49Father's talk is very little. But father's a kind of a disciple that says, if mother is the mother, then father is the door of the mother. That door is a very undervalued door. And I love that. What they have also said. Because whatever you have in your childhood, it will shape you as an individual. Maybe it's not individually. Everything is my childhood. Maybe I don't talk about it. There's no story. Fair. It is only because my father was a certain, way. I was born in Unao. If I was born in Bombay, there's no story. Now, when I go to Unao, I see that the kids want to do something, the kids want to do something, they say to their families, they can do it.

16:34That's my biggest win. There are no regrets. It all shapes you and it's a very wide spectrum. You said that I didn't want to change my father's eyes. fail on that. Yeah. That mattered a lot. Yeah. Yeah. It still matters a lot. Yeah. Still matters. Still matters a lot. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I mean, my mother, everything, they have to feel good about what I do. But is it fear? Is it fear that it feels like a father to make something like that? That in his eyes, it feels like a proud feeling? It feels like a father. It should be just a good feeling. I know.

17:11It doesn't feel like a father? No. No. It doesn't feel like a father. At which time is finished? He was done. He was done. His operation was in 2016. He got a heart attack and he got a bypass run to him. And we became friends after that. Like, good friends. They thought that his role is probably in saving me. He opened me. He has a filter behind the father and son. After that, it doesn't mean anything. Tell me what happened. What turned shifted. He came here to make my studio. We were making a studio. And at that time, I was not working so well. in 2016 I was just about to I was doing a lot of Marathi work and I was still proving to my father but because I started making a little bit of money I think that's a big factor when you are financially secure it matters to your parents a lot and it matters to everybody around me people talk to you differently I was not that financially secure but he knew that but how much is going to happen he didn't have his own money he didn't have his own money he didn't have his own money but he didn't have his own money so he came here to make a studio and then I saw him ill and I took him to the hospital.

18:13It was a long process and I feared that I will lose him. And there was nobody here. My mom was not here. My mom didn't. My son is in London. He was a little girl. So I had some friends. Abhijit, Akash, my friends of college, Abhijit. My oldest friends. A very famous lawyer. We all wanted to find out. For me, I had a very new experience. I didn't go to the hospital. And he saw that probably the ethical values that I've put in him are right and maybe I can walk into him something switch flip and we started talking about everything we talk about everything now what point did you open up what story when they were recovering they were doing they were doing a lot first time I started to do a lot and Chakram he was used to fear that I would fall and open open now he's super healthy I think he's the healthiest in my family and we talk about everything about business, about money, about my life, about my future and sometimes I will see him we live together now, me and my parents so we live in the house sometimes I'm making a house and he'll over here and now there's a tree

20:03I was composing the song and and he was going to go there and I had a video that was my song. I had a song called Gaurav. I had a song called Gaurav. I had a song called Gaurav. My song called Gaurav. My name is very important. What I feel is that I can show me, concert I can do it. My whole life is in my own. Now when I've been 68-70 years old, I want to know that the most beautiful things, most luxurious things, my own father and mother. and this is my life I don't think so much they are my world they are everything to me have never said that he is proud of you I didn't say that I heard and I always say that I don't want to say that and sometimes if they are emotional I'm going to get angry because that's not good my father is still there my son is still there I know it, I can see I'm a musician, I can sense it time is sun.

21:05What is the need of listening? You should see in the eyes. I think actions are louder than words. His eyes and his expressions and his emotions towards me and my parents and my friends' emotions. In the life, there are very few people who matter in the life. There are many people who are less than human. If they are seeing in the eyes, if they are seeing in the eyes, you come to a camera, you have something good. You look good, like I was coming here. I usually am very lazy. I'm going to go to the house. So today I made a little hair. So they saw me look good. I said, what?

21:42It's a small choice of life that make me really, really, really happy. And do I want to make him proud? Do I want to make him proud? Do I want to make him proud? Do I want to prove himself that my potential is for? What is the battle? There's no battle. I feel very proud of them. I don't do anything, so they'll be happy. My truth and truth is very different. Where I come from, now you are in Bombay. There is a beautiful office. This is worth your truth. Your life is going on, your father is going on, your father is going on, if everything will be going on, you are sitting in Bombay. I am sitting in a guard.

22:27When someone is a guard, when someone is a guard, he is a true and true. God also feels like you, your parents feel like you, your work, you feel like you. There are many interventions. My true and true, is very important. My true and true is very different. It's a good thing in the world, it's a good thing in the world, it's a good thing in Delhi. in Delhi now it's completely different it's different it's different it's very good so this is not a battle I don't have a happy that's why that's why that's why they can't buy them they can't do something they can't do something they can't do something and the family is very important I don't understand them I don't understand them for those who are important and I don't know I don't want to prove anything I want to prove anything when I was in Mumbai I was in Mumbai So my thought was that I should have known my name in one song.

23:23That my father would see that our girl is not a bad guy. Or I'll be selected in an idol or I'll be selected in a reality show. Or I'll be able to do something. Or I'll come on a time on TV. How much God gave it to that. Now, I just want to be justice of my own. I want to be just and righteous to my heart. When you have a choice, you talk about issues in your mind. it's just about realizing that you are a funnel it's just about realizing that you are a funnel why is it a blessing? why is it a song? it's a song that's a song when I have a song I have a director or a dream that has something that has stimulated I have a and I don't know how to do it and I don't know how to do it if someone says to me how did I make it?

24:11when I was a song it was 7 minutes I said Sandeep sir Raj ji we were in the three rooms the first note that I hit on the keyboard was if we will say something it became probably the most chanting song of the country ever in 2024 so if I start taking this seriously too much it will hamper what I do here so this road is to keep this connection the rest of us will be asked to ask what the biggest fear is of course health health, in time not sleeping. No. Iept for sleeping on that bed. It's the removal for you. Very quickly, you need to be inspired. But, I also do so. When I tried much. It's not the way I was thinking about doing that.

25:00What I'm talking about? Both things. You keep российmaking about it. Take care of your days. Give myself a politician on a financial council. I just say I am open. I am going to open. Where the demon is going. Tell me. Tell me. I can't see anyone's need. My problem is that I don't want to say. So I have some people here. Like I was standing here, my brother, my brother, he's not saying. He doesn't say. It's not my fault. We all need that one. He's a wonderful brother. He's a wonderful son. My team is all good. But the lens is, in that the nature is the most important that I will if I will hurt someone I will have a problem I will see someone I feel like I am this light that is shining through me I wish I become competent enough to let this light shine on other people as well I am walking on that path and hopefully till I am around I will spread that light to a lot of people Do you feel bored?

26:11A lot. A lot of boredom. I read. I watch cinema. For me, it's a trip. Watching cinema is something that I enjoy a lot. I listen to music. But that's a part of my job. Plus, I like understanding things. I think if I give any support, I can give it that I can understand. Things? Not things. Everything. Few things. Okay. Few things like what? like I can understand an expression behind art and I can explain easy language like I have heard someone's song so after every song there is an intent someone is doing after that's intent you are reading a book you are watching that phrase like you have written a lot of things when you write there is something going on inside you as an artist I am sensitive enough to understand that intention.

27:12So I don't think that's my strength. That's why I can probably come to my songs. Because I understand why it's been made. Okay, technically, it's also B major. Why has he used a G minor here or a G major? Technical things. I'm watching cinema, so why did he play this shot here? And I always feel that art is about, it's not about the act of execution. it's about the act of understanding. The way people don't succeed in doing a lot of things is because they're always after execution. We have to do it, we have to do it, we have to understand it. You will understand it. An example of something. You saw something and then thought about it.

27:55Like I was watching a film, Baby Rendia. I got really influenced by that. It was a series on Netflix. Baby Rendia. Baby Rendia. I think everybody should watch it. Made by the same person who has directed it, written it and acted in the film. It's got its individual language and I love it. When you listen to something, when you understand, then you realise where the power is. This is the thing from mind. This is the thing from mind. This is the thing from heart. It's just like when you sing a song. It's very easy to explain. You can sing a father's favorite song. Or my father's favorite song. It's just a song.

28:30There are many people's favorite songs. Many people like it. Why do people like it?

29:06because someone likes Arjit because someone likes me because someone likes Raj because someone likes me there is always a beautiful reason behind it which everyone doesn't think you can say I like Virat Kohli I like Sachin Tinul if you have an emotional reason behind it that means it's doing something in your heart maybe the achievements are something that you imagine in your heart maybe it's a companionship that you imagine that a song is talking about sometimes I would listen to a song and be like oh this is something that I should have said I'm feeling it so strongly then it becomes a part of my playlist so intent if you think about it or if you understand any of this if you understand a lot then you'll know that you're coming from a place and that is why it becomes such an essential part of life so that is something that comes to me very naturally I feel so let's talk about two three of your songs oh god because you're talking about intent yes so first I start with the first because you've been talking a lot a lot of times So, what was the brief before?

30:08Like Sandeep sir, what did you say? First brief, what did you get? There was no brief. We were making Kabir Singh, it was his first film. I was doing another music for another film. His name was Notebook. We had a great time. And then it got all the accolades. All the songs were made. And then one morning I got a call. And he knows when I get up. So, he called me at that time.

30:39I went to his office and he showed me a little clip of the film I said Radman, I get you at the time and I think you should meet this writer called Rajshagar again, the understanding because he trusts me with his and this collaboration is a very great thing it's lightning you see in our eyes

31:18So she can feel a connect. Though she doesn't know the person at all. I said it's beautiful. so I'll get to you first time I came from there that's 7-8 minutes we made the full song 1-2-T everything we sat and then we said what's it done and then I produced it and he likes it the way it is he likes the rawness of music and we made the song and it came out last I guess and it became what it became I think with him it's it's not the power of the song or the power of the cinema it's the power of the collaboration and people coming to it and it'll happen always

32:11Is there a specific lyric that that just connects with you a lot in this song it's a very beautiful song I like the idea that you should sing it because I sang it it was supposed to be sung by a girl then I sang it and he shot it and Marham gets more credit to Rajshekar I think he's killed it I love that version way more personal personal choice Marham like it's that is so I'm a very poor person and for me friendships family relationships I can

33:03feel

33:12that essence right I can feel you and was very close like this fragrance I used to think I know my partner's fragrance I know this verse and that was hit so to me that was like very good that's the art of understanding that you are saying you have this void you have this understanding of fragrance are like memories for you fragrance are memories for me so if someone loves me so you can embrace it better because that's your art of understanding That is what we were talking about. For me, it's a wrong thing. It's a very honest thing. You sometimes meet someone and you feel like you know this person even if you don't know this person.

33:54Like we'll meet you the first time. It's not like that. No, the first time. You end up feeling that and I think it's a wrong thing. I don't know if you know, then tell me. I don't know if I know you. If you know, tell me. I feel very honest because when you're in love and when you're in a situation, chada hota hai kisi insan ga to bhai ghalat sahi ka kushbara nilagta we're baut honest and I think uski honesty love has a connect yeah I like that then kaise hua kaise hua so it was not supposed to be in the film that song um as I told you I made a film called I was making the music of this film called notebook and I made that music with a lot of heart I made it music in a lot of my heart.

34:45And I was in London. I got a call from Sandeep sir that we are shooting tomorrow and we had met once or twice before that. First love ka gana chih. First love ka gana chih. 20th and 30th December tha. I was in my own zone and around 3-4 in the morning I came and my father and my whole family were sleeping upstairs and I picked up the guitar and I started singing I have to say First of all, I have to say I have to say I have to say I have to say I have to say I have to say I have to say I have to say that it is a very good song Till date if you watch the film on Netflix it is the same recording that I sent from Trampolin We never recorded the song It is an audio recording from my phone In the film which film has earned 400-200 crore First of all So there is a version which you listen to which is the Arman in my voice in the film the version of the film that was so hit which loves that trampoline on the morning I don't know what the song and what is it is a 4 minute sequence that's Sandeep for you he's that kind of a genius he said I like this I will keep this random random and we could not go for it nothing you should check it out everybody should check it out go on Netflix check out it's a phone recording and it's crazy that I couldn't fathom it because the whole film is an atmosphere and suddenly a mono recording comes in 4 minutes and people in the theater enjoyed it I sing it in my concerts and they go crazy towards the release of the film is when I think after two days DCP didn't have a film and a small edit came out where I was asked to make a song like at 7.30 in the night I was shown the edit and at 12.30 in the night I went back to the edit in 3-4-5 hours and that's how it happened I made that song in 4-5 hours and the moment I started strumming it this line came to me How's it going?

36:47How's it going? Your heart is singing My heart is singing So Bhushan Ji asked me who will write it? I said Manoj Muntashir and he came and he wrote the lyrics I was doing a good job. They had a good job. It was a beautiful song. Because it was the first time I was loving it. And it had the expression. And technically it starts like a minor goes to a major. Which I will be a musical. It was a beautiful song. Then Bhushanji said. My heart is so important. Can you put it in the middle? Then we did it. How did it happen? How did it happen? Then the next day they sent me anthra. Manoj Buntashir. I think one of the most beautiful verses that I have made.

37:34lyrically which I made which I made very beautiful I didn't say I didn't understand I didn't understand I didn't understand I didn't understand where my heart was from I was a big I wrote it I wrote it so much I didn't know I didn't know I didn't know I was with my now you came I was just I was just I was just what happened and when you fall in love you don't know what's happening to you and that's why and the way he shot it oh my god I think beautiful it made the song It became wild. I think pandemic was that time. When we do that song in the concerts these days people, they don't let me sing.

38:16People sing. If I'm singing, you'll sing something. What's the thing about them? You'll sing it with the lyrics. You'll sing it with the lyrics. Manoj, Muntashir and Sandeep. Again, it's the collaboration. There's one song which I feel I've told my friends mostly they've not heard it and I feel sad about it and that's my favorite song what is it? by you and I think you're part of that song right yeah I made that song you made that song that's one of the most beautiful songs it is and I really like it I think it's very underrated what is underrated? I hear this so much underrated it's like when I talk to my friends I should know that.

39:04It should be a mess. No, no. When we sing in the car, we should sing everything. How did we all go first? I will also sing the female version of the song. First of all, love and love. People don't know how many people can. Every time I make them listen, I say, this is a great song. But they still won't go and listen to it every day. I'll tell you why.

39:26Every person's anger is so mature. there are also classifications or degrees. How does someone's heart break? That's the power of the feeling of being able to feel in every person. And when people feel mature, they sing. If you listen to it for 10 years before, you may have a feeling. But now, because there is a sense of maturity in you and your pain and your experiences, and there will be more songs that you will discover from me, from other artists that will hit you. it's only because you make something that is slightly more mature in the degree of pain that the people are feeling and it will always happen with art Jaane De is is is magical for me because of a lot of things Irfan Saab first of all he was a big part I think it was the second last film and he was very much involved the script was beautiful I loved the film I loved making music for that film and Raj Shekhar and me, we've been together for a long time.

40:32The first pay check in Bombay, we gave Irfan to the first pay check in Bombay. He had signed us for something else. And in 2015, he gave us a state bank on video. We're not doing cash until now. And I and Rajshakar called us to his house and it was surreal. And then couple of years later he started making this film and he said that two people they are in their 40s in their meeting and they have been in love but they are with someone else now so there is a sense of complexity which we feel about it but it can happen about every state sometimes you feel something should we develop on it or should we just go ahead so what can happen then Rajji said, leave, let's go on the day of his birthday and he was abusing me Raj ji

41:36Tanuja and everybody was narrating us the script Tanuja was the director of the film Tanuja Chandra and we made the song and he said or should we just let it pass and we made the song naturally it came out and then it's all of it the whole song the way he shot it he was looking beautiful Irfan Saab in the song he gave us some Tibetan poetry references also used to get books

42:11and Raj ji being Raj ji wrote the most beautiful piece of lyric and it just became something it came from a very personal part of me so I was not expecting it to become a song a song that becomes a part of everybody your individual things will only resonate with people with the same amount of degree or the same amount of feeling that you have what do you relate with the most a song personally there's a line when you ask what you know what we say when we ask what we ask what we ask how great we leave the relationships but how many things if we ask just then we sort He said if we ask what you know, what we say, but Go to Go to I feel very honest Honest, calm honesty He needs to be here He comes and keeps Hit too But it doesn't matter But I think first line It's very honest song It is That was a good song That was a good song What to say, go to This is what it is This is what it is This is what it is

43:24It's an intense song. It's honest. Irfan Khan sir. Yes. What are your features? What do you feel? Because you work closely. Wow. This is the features. Wow. He's coming out first. What a man. He was very inspiring. You meet few people that are different. And you can see them and you can figure it out. Personally, I don't know much. The amount I have to go to work. I have to go to work. But was his natural. He should give the girding of a song andill did not become. When someone might come to their lives. That himself will name him. Family is much more casual. What the이 something like this, in his eyes can feel that there's a APPLAUSE.

44:06You look at it and it will come after you. Which person can do in his mind and annoying. Of course he was acting par excellence.

44:19he was very self-conscious very self-conscious very literary rich

44:29I told you Tibetan poetry and the way he used to stand for his co-artists we didn't get a script so he said give it a script and we got the script for the first time for any film in Karib Karib single and me and Raji were very happy. Now we will take our script. It's very necessary to study script. And he was beautiful. He was a wonderful person. And I think that he was good in his work. That's why we make a song for him. You use one word a lot, pain. Yeah. And you say that the same level of degree pain if someone connects to someone, then more people like him, feel, feel. how many degrees of pain are there?

45:16It's because like your wisdom is evolving like your chakras are evolving like your sanity is evolving your pain is also evolving everything is growing with us and if you start addressing it there are a lot of amazing emotions in the world which are true your anger, your happiness, your fear these are your emotions these are not given to anyone it's like a ginny in a bottle we always think that Aladdin's current Ginny is always there. So this is a ginny and it keeps evolving inside you and you start in someone's life and in someone's life it feels late in someone's life. I used to cry as I was reading poetry Why is this 15-year-old now?

46:02It's not a degree or a degree or a heartbreak or a heartbreak or a heartbreak or a body break or a body break or a body break. But you end up feeling something that doesn't exist here I see it very spiritually I think you can imagine your reality, your practical reality, these are two different realms of life art here comes, emotions here comes here comes and it comes mixture of this person which is confused if this side is your heavy your imaginative reality then you can be very mature not that you can be very experienced your life is very experienced and if you have a side of your mind, then you can be very mature.

46:44How is the balance of your life? It decides that you have pain. It decides that you have a feeling of happiness. It decides that you have a feeling of happiness. How many tears are you? How many tears are you? How many tears are you? How many tears are you? What I was 10 years ago was, I felt like I don't want to write that. I want to write about something else. I want to make something else. What you have 10 years ago is, you don't want to do this. That's why we can change songs. that's why our favorite songs change our favorite paintings and this pain is a big umbrella we see so much if you have the understanding of pain and if it's evolving inside you then you can feel someone's pain it's even stronger than happiness I believe because then you get the power and you get the precedence to heal people you get the precedence to be in help have a conversation so it's in a lot of degrees in a different degree and it becomes an essential part of art because it's such an honest emotion the way the pain is honest the way the art is listening to you but if you have to break it down in three different ways you have experienced pain I've experienced pain in everything my brother tell me three incidents and three levels because it can be different pain can be as simple as that today I was disappointed and I was the pain pain can be failure pain can be rejection pain can be heartbreak pain can be just hopelessness I think I felt very busy when I felt very busy and I didn't know how to handle it was when I was getting consistently rejected by all these people in my auditions I don't know why I thought I could sing but someone's going to tell you I thought I could sing I could sing that's the first level of disappointment that I felt that I probably could have sometimes in love I think I could have been better for me it's not about somebody else at all I told you it's not about the Aladdin it's about me I am the Ginny here it's always me somebody will come and stimulate it you probably think it's happening but it's you probably in my relations I could have been better probably I could have handled my law degree a little better I'm just telling you instances on the fly and when someone doesn't work I don't blame anyone whether it's a relationship of friendship or a relationship of friendship because in two people

49:41it's a beautiful process to separate also I think love comes with that it gives you the guarantee that your heart will be broken sometime but I could take some work from my friends from my professional relationships sometimes things are running I'm sure you must be experiencing things like that when you say something to somebody and the next minute you're like you shouldn't have said that you know you shouldn't have said that so now I try to make something here or I need or my friends or my relations I give them an opportunity to speak everything that they have and then process what should be done I could have done it when I was running behind things in my life better definitely what do you think if you have to point out one thing in your own which is your red flag personal relationship personal relationships are very restless very restless and what is that things are about me

50:51which shouldn't be the case at all I feel things should be about two people explain my problems my things I didn't choose you don't choose it it happens to you and sometimes you need a person in your life or you need people around you that understand it those people with me understand that it will be like that but I think it's a big red flag I would be if I'm not doing art and I don't know what's happening on the earth because being an artist is not an easy job I mean it's a very difficult thing to do it's like your things are big your things matter you your day is going to be my That's your head flying?

51:34Yeah, it's unfair. Have you done this? Is it a relationship cost? A lot. A lot. A lot of costs. And I only say it now. It's absolutely unfair. And I can't do anything about it. It's not that I want to be full of myself or anything. But things God has arranged this setup in a way where. See, you can. And a lot of people can. Is this today at this age? priority is about me and my art at this point maybe I have more fun because everybody can do something about it we don't most people don't which is okay Kala I want to ask a lot I'm a share I'm so much I'm so much I'm so much I'm so much I'm so much I'm so much

53:07you have to experience it to be a part of it and it is not in my control but when I think that I think that I think that I should do this or it becomes like this, things will be better or maybe my reality is different, my reality is different. And that's why artists have this rollercoaster of a personal life with their friends, with their lovers. It's because it's all so messed up. Your art takes so much off you. If you're doing something for 30 years, someone who can connect with you for 5 years, you'll know that you're going to calculate this geometry. You'll know that 30 years are still there.

53:48Now, when you're still there, to either you become a part of that and you invite what an artist is because it's unfair to someone else. Many people have said that he is an artist, so what happens? There are different people. I don't know, I don't know someone who I really believe and I can't quote him. He is someone who I look up and I think in the country, many people believe in the role model. and they had this question and they had the answer that in their life maybe their entire life only about their own and their own ambitions and their own things in their own art so they are a little bit of a sacrifice but they are very grateful because they are people after they understand so I asked them why is it?

54:37so they told me that in life there is an obsession It's a good thing.

55:11It's very important. You have to know what's happening. It's important. I know that I have music for my lungs. It's something that's going to be in my lungs. But it's very important to understand someone's thinking. If you also feel that you can do X to Y or Z to Z, I think it makes you a better person, a better artist. Because it's absolutely unfair on the other person. Your life is programmed in a way. even Raj's life is programmed in a way where there will be things that you won't be able to do even if you want to. The person to understand this needs a lot of time. Your friends need a lot of time.

55:53That's why people who stay back with you are people that have been with you all through this. They have seen the sacrifices. They have seen the compromises. They have seen the adjustments. They have seen how much invested you are. And relationships take a toll. There is no doubt that it can be an obsession. but within the obsession also if you are considerate also that this may be like this with this we can do this so the chances of saving the chances are more than that otherwise this is another life it's another life it's another life see the I feel nothing is wrong not if you have to spend a lot of time in a balanced life or you have to spend a lot of time in a family life you spend a lot of time on society, you spend a lot of time on selfishness, you spend a lot of ambition, or art on something.

56:45Everything is correct. You have to know what is wrong. People who want something else, and do something else, and then when they sleep at night, that's the biggest problem. Choose one, it's okay. Because when you are clear, people will attract you, who are okay in life. 100 % You gave someone else's hope Why someone else's hope But you have something else And then that kills That person also says That person is good But it's not me And you also have guilt That I can be better And it just ends And it's You have to choose I was speaking to a cricketer On podcast And he told me We're talking about obsession And he's given Virat Kohli And he's played with Virat Kohli Multiple times So you were saying Virat Kohli His father I remember this instance Next day He was on the back Ranji's match Don't you think That time His family was Yes Don't you think That he could afford One day Probably But when a person Is clear about What is or what is Not Now you have Obsession You have to say Right or wrong But But maybe today, if we don't see such an obsession in such an incident, then maybe today, what kind of Virat Kohli is not going to be here today?

58:10There is a gift. A gift means, you've seen that the Sufis dance in a situation. They'll spread their hands and they'll just go around. They're dwell. Dervish. If you don't have a gift in your passion, you don't have a gift in that situation, then there's nothing. There's no other option. if many people ask how do you do it I say do it just do it just be at it something wrong it's a big umbrella right and wrong I did this right I did this wrong it's a big umbrella to do it is important if I was not here in Bombay for that internship if I did not go for that audition if I did not win that reality show I wouldn't have been here there would be no conversation everything happens for a reason and you should just accept it and move ahead and not keep dwelling upon it obsession is the only key to succeed in life business podcast music painting anything that you want to do you have to be so passionate

59:24you feel madness has helped you oh yes it's important when will anything like that ? that everything what will something be done i think madness is about when you poison someone in their life yaşak 2 years ago, Madness, what were we doing when we were 14? विराट, आप बोल रहे हैं, विराट भाई का option, दोनी भाई, कहां से आहे हो, कैसे represent करते हैं उस sector को it's magic कोई भी बड़ी चीज बिना madness के होई नहीं सकते mediocrity average और excellence के बीच में सिर्फ एक फरक होता है पागल बन कर अगर आपके पास किसी चीज को लेकर पागल बन है किसी चीज को लेकर madness है तभी वो चीज extreme बेजा सकते it can be the shit or shit no doubt about it but you have to have the madness to achieve either of the epitopes the extreme of it or the lowest of it if everything is minuscule everything is mediocre the world is full of it that's why you only celebrate certain people there are only certain people who become the richest people of the world there are only certain people who do specific things there might be 1000 people doing same thing but there are only few of them that do it like that because they are all about what they want.

1:13:29कभी ऐसा you have that what do you call it?

I I can bet anything at this you've written books it's a way of expressing you're trying to express something that is inside your heart I'm pretty sure when you're writing them it doesn't matter to you who's reading it or not it's your expression good there is a penguin there and everything is beautiful and people might be reading it might not be reading it sometimes it's not important sometimes it's important to just put it out there let it out and when you realize that everybody else is suffering from the same syndrome and everyone is suffering and you have given a tool that you can make it तो मैं अपना पार्ट कर रहा हूं पस लोग तो परिशान हैं बहुत परिशान हैं लोग चोटी -चोटी चीज़ों के खुशियाद बनते हैं ये मर्दों के पास पावर कम होती है इसलिए वो पोईट्री का साहरा लेते हैं गानों का साहरा लेते हैं मुझे युनम से अटम् मैंखा फ That you two ह zadиноरू लडगिपधं से पत्यारें को इंत्म होगेखं भीपिमॉडनी करते हैं झाल Son लड़कंगों पकिनलाइज करते हैं लड़कों यूचल ज़ार्ः इन लड़कों गुशुरु से फिरुपए जकली बहुत 190.20 Łukaler.

1:20:11oresque of her life. He should always finish. So it's not Bad or good I'm just saying कि हर थोड़ टाइम में एक emotion जो है मैं बच्पान सिखा जाते हो तो बोलती है अग भराब और अब दिखाई नहीं सकते हैं तो यू, that's why men are afraid to express क्योंकि वर जिस वें में express करते हैं, कोई नहीं कोई सब्साइटी में तो फिर अंधर ही रखते हैं and that's why they keep getting lonelier क्योंकि वर सम्झानी सकते हैं ना सम्झाना चाहते हैं correct or just make sense of insecurity we involved in when you attacked us the provider especially in the setup that we were born a provider has to be a strong person like strength yeah what does it depict your voice?

1:22:25how much is it out of your voice? how much is it in your speech? how much is it in your words? how much is it in your speech? how much is it in your voice? that's why I consider women blessed I think women are blessed that you can express things कर सकते हैं बहुत common scenario प्रेक अप होता है अगर लड़की का प्रेक अप होता है दूसरी लड़की आप होती है बता बोल बात कर क्या हुआ talk it out, let it go, all of that what are you feeling उसे पूछते हैं, what are you feeling बताती है कि यह यह यह हो रहा उसको express करता है, तो टैक दिन आता है बोलना आता है लड़कों से बूचो प्रेक अप क्या वर्ड़ाय ये फीलिंग गुसा रहा है साल ऐसे भी है कि अभी भी है खुद पे गुसा रहा है ना कि यहां तो खुद कराब कर दिया यहां छोड़े मुझे फर्फ नी वड़ता है अग्नौर जनरल जनरल टम इगनोर या गुस्सा या इफिल आइफिल एफिल एफिल रिजेक्टड सबका यह की आम पिस्ट ओफ और कोई इस एक या दो वर्ड गहला तीसरा वर्ड सो पदा ही नहीं है वाड़ा ही ओपुछ खुछ भी होते हैं कुछ खुछ भी होते हैं अगर आपको प् पुछ पुछ पुछ पुछ पुछ पुछ नहीं प्रिशान कर सकती है कुछ वक्त के लिए आप खुछ होते हूगी कोई नहीं है पिर इसके बाद आपको पुछ लगता है कि कितनी इंपॉर्टन से और मैं रिलाइस इट लेटो ये डू दू दू दू and that's why even if you see the kind of music that males listen to and females listen to is different oh tell me how many girls are singing like my song is Aaj B it's a song that a lot of my female fans would listen to but a song like how did it happen now I'm not generalizing it there will be females that love that song but more of males because it's got that kind of an expression a song has a tinge that decides like a marham लड़कियों को ज़्यादा अच्छा लगते है क्योंकि उसमें एक feminine aspect की बात हो रही है बहुत ज़्यादा अब बट कैसे हुआ में एक enthralling over the top एक lover चिला रहा है कैसे हूँ and so you see the difference between the thought कि अच्छा ये गाना क्यों ऐसा है यह काना क्यों ऐसे हैं, उनको पसंद की वारा है, जहां तक मुझे लगता है सिर्फ मर्दों पे नहीं, अब तो इतनी ज्यादा करीब हो गए हैं तो उनों सोच में, लड़के हो लड़के, बेसिक प्रॉब्लम वही हैं, कि हमारी प्रॉब्लम्स चेंज नहीं हो ही है, हम चें इसलिए अभी इन लोगों की जो voice है, वो कला है, podcasts हैं, videos हैं, क्यों इतना consume कर रहे हैं लोग यह सब, ठून रहे हैं अपनी conversation को, अपने शब्द किसी और के मूझ से निकल से लिए अपनी vocabulary डून रहे हैं, राज कुछ बोल देंगे, उनके साथ कोई गेस्ट आएगा, कुछ बोल देगा, कोई गाना कुछ कह देगा, लोग ढूंड रहे हैं, और ऐसे लोगों के लिए मैंने बनाई है, यह आलबम, coming back to Parka Alpun.

1:28:51आपको बात करनी है यह वो इनसान किसी एक बुरे वक्त सबारा है जहां उसको आपकी जरुछ है before you start anything just ask them कि तुम्हें इस ताइम पर अडवाइस चाहिए किसे मैं चुपचा बैठे रहूँ गाली बिलेगी साथ में कि अडवाइस चाहिए कि मैं सिर्फ चुपचा बैठे रहू एंड एक बार दो बार तीन बार गाली मिलेगी लेकिन जब जो close इंसान है वो बता देगा कि भाई आज न कोई ग्यान वानने चाहिए आज सिर्ब बैठे रहे हैं अपन सिर्ब बैठे रहे हैं मेरी बात सुन तो बसर बाती है 90 % बसर बाती है बहुत जुरूरी है मतलब रिष्टों में विरिष्टों में सबसे ज़्यादा कम जो होता है आजकल मुझे जो मेरा तजूरबा कहता है वो होता है कि अगर सिर्फ एक दूसरे को सुन ले तो इंसान जितने देर सुनता है सुनने का मतलब यह आप सुन रहे हो and you are processing what the other person is saying in that process you sometimes give the person the benefit of the doubt क्या ये इतना पॐरा नहीं है बस्क्राइब मेरेकाल क्या ये ये सोच रही है वो बिषुचिक चीज नहीं होते एसे रिशे रबर की तरह खिशते जाते हैं रबर होते ही ना रिशे रिश्थे तो अनन्द होते हैं जया एवेवब, you fall in love with somebody once truly, you're always in in some way connected to the person if that is the point then how can you not save it when it is going away if you have committed a mistake if the other person has the wisdom enough the other person can save it गलत तो होता ही है कोई नोगई खलतियां और सही के परे होता है अगर आप बात कर लें उस मौके पर याँ समझ लें या कभी -कभी space देने पीछे अड़ जाए यहां अच्छे इसने बात बुली, let me process यह इतना patience नहीं है, patience कहां से आएगा बात सुन लीजे आप, बात सुन के reaction भी आप लोग, अभी मुझे ऐसा लगता है कि लोग अब सुनने के लिए नहीं जब कोई -कोई और बात कर रहा होता है तो जवाब देने के लिए सुनते हो उसकी बाले कि तू खदम करो और मैं जवाब देता हूँ he's just finished and I will say what I have to I have already decided it जसन ये रुख जाये रिष्टों में बात सुनी जाये बात कही जाये 90 % रिष्टे बचना लेगे जाये हर्जे वोल्ड़़वाइ any kind of relationship there's a dialogue Matthew McCowney की movie where I'll read it as it is someone once told me that the power in all relationships lies with whoever cares less wow wow do you think it's true?

I think he means it in a very different way what he's saying care less about what care less about things that might not be in the favor of a relationship I believe love is beautiful it's if you are in love you will have a sense of care but sometimes you care less about things that act as a negative force कभी-kभी कुछ चीजे होती है, जो सही नहीं होती, हम आर चीज पर जιάन देते हैं, जैर अचार ये, इस ने मुलेकषात नहीं गरी, ये दएखो यहां पर ऐसे कर सकता था, इस नहीं नहीं किया, ये यहां ये कर सकती थी, इस नहीं नहीं किया, चोटी सी चोटी बाल पर अगर आप इन सब चीजों को थोड़ा कम करके इसके बारे में सोचे ना जो इश्क में है आपसे सारी चीज़े कम हो जाएंगी so it's actually the person in a relationship that cares less has the power to save it because he's only thinking about the individual at that point of time you gave a different meaning to the whole beautiful but I think in that dialogue उसका context एथा कि जिसको रिष्टे की गदर कम है न फर्क कम पड़ता है उसके ढ़ावर है क्योंकि वो कभी पिछोड़ के जा सकता है डियू थिंक इसा होता है नए ने अगर रिष्टा है और दिखो अधिकतर टाइम ऐसा होता है किसी एक को जाधा पड़ी होती पर अन्डर्ड पर हर बार ऐसे होगा अधिक तरह जिसको जादा पड़िये जिसको जादा पड़िये शायद वो वीकर पोजिशन पर डियू थे उस डियालोग कम मीनिंग वह था सब्सक्राइब रिश्टिकी डाइनमिक्स ना वर कि एसे करती है ऐसे चलता नहीं यह तो मैं आजर जल्दा है एक इस तरफ एक इस तरफ कई अजर भी इस ताफ एकagu यह बैलन साज highlights मैं तरफ दो तर ही it doesn't work like that life doesn't work like that any relationship works like this यहां पर जो है वो सीकर है यह प्रोवाइटर है यहां पर जो है वो सीकर है यह प्रोवाइटर है चेंज उता रहेगा.

1:33:37मुझे लगता है, you actually care all the time. I don't think so, Maybe the balance is tilting towards left and right. I've talked about this, it's like two people meeting I love the way evenings and days meet the night see it's the most blissful process in the world every day and then the night meets the day again consistently it's happening if two people just start like that you accept the heat of the day you accept the cold of the night you accept the stars you accept the cloud you accept the rain you accept the hill storms life is beautiful because it's not perfect it is not you will have your own up and down your personal, your relationship the societal ups and downs in your life, सब होगा पर ये इनसान है ना इसकी value कर भी चाहिए ठीक बीचले जाएगा चला जाएगा यार ये इससे फ्रेम कर रहा है इसे एक जो लोग बहुत साथा प्यार में होते हैं और ये सोचते ही नहीं कि कभी खतम होगा उनके लिए फुचर ही होता है प्रेजेट ही होता है सब यही होता है उन्होंने कभी imagining ही नी क्या होता है कि इसके बीना life की है और जब उनका break up होता है तब उनको बहुत डिफिकल्ड होता है recover करने के लिए heartbreak होना क्योंकि वो एक state से गुदरते हैं

इपर लख सो मुझे हो लआ लख लुगाए जया सबेथेटी लूए लुग टुका ना कि अगल man and I've seen him consistently all through the years that I've known him here's the last question for you which is if because we talked a lot about a lot of things yeah but I wanna package it in gamifier little it's like if if life is a game right and everybody who is watching this and everyone is playing what is one rule that you feel सब को पता नाची है so that they play it right if life is a game I think one rule that everybody should know is that you're not the best and you're not so important because if you feel that you're the best then the quest for being the best goes away it should be a quest it's a journey it's a life, a game it's not a destination if you feel that you have you are the top player and the top racer in this then the quest goes away so you should never feel that you are never the best you are one of the players do your own thing आप अपना गाम करें और आप ज़रूरी नहीं है कोई भी वो टेक करेगा आपको अगर आप अपने आपको ज़रूरी समझेंगे जीवन बहुत खुबसूरत है यह आपको लेविल करता रहेगा हर स्थर पर आपको सिर्फ इतना करना है कि आख कान खोली रखनी है दिल खोला रखना है दिमाग खोला रखना है मुवन रखना है काम करते रहे हैं परफेक्ट, थैंक यू सो मच थैर

In today’s episode, we have Vishal Mishra, one of India’s most soulful singer and composer, known for songs like Kaise Hua, Pehle Bhi Main, and Jaan Hai Meri. From a small-town dreamer to one of Bollywood’s most loved voices, Vishal opens up about the pain, discipline, and madness that shaped his music.

We talk about his childhood, growing up with a strict father whose righteousness became the foundation of his art and how the lack of “listening” at home taught him what real communication and love mean.

In the last segment, Vishal opens up about the artists who’ve inspired him, Arijit Singh and the late Irrfan Khan and why he believes honesty is the soul of true art. He also talks about his upcoming album Pagalpan, made for those who’ve felt deeply, struggled quietly, and found comfort in madness.
