In short
Liana Werner-Gray argues that “seed oils” commonly sold as vegetable/plant oils (e.g., soybean, cottonseed, canola/rapeseed) are harmful due to processing, omega-6 imbalance, and oxidative stress/inflammation. She contrasts these with “healthy” cold-pressed oils from nature (olive, coconut, avocado, sesame, hemp, black cumin).
Guest backgrounds
Liana Werner-Gray is a four-time bestselling author with a personal healing story. She says she was diagnosed at 21 with early-stage throat cancer (carcinoma in situ) after years of binge eating junk food; she credits naturopathic/functional care and diet changes.
Key claims
Seed oils are linked to cancer, Alzheimer’s/dementia, infertility, hormone disruption, anxiety/brain fog, and chronic inflammation. She claims oxidative stress in the brain drives these outcomes. She also claims restaurants and fast food use seed oils widely and that label claims like “organic/non-GMO” can be misleading for lab-created oils like canola.
Notable examples
She describes her “replacement therapy” approach (swapping cravings with natural homemade versions), detox tools (colonics/coffee enemas, castor oil, bentonite clay, juicing), and says her tumor dissolved in three months without surgery/chemo/radiation. She recommends restaurant/oil checking tools (e.g., “Seed Oil Scout”) and kitchen swaps (avocado oil for canola; olive/coconut for other uses).

If you're ready to learn, feel empowered, and take charge of your health, you're in the right place. Welcome back to the show. Today, you guys, I am really excited for our guest because it is Liana Werner-Gray. Some of you might know her. She is a four-time selling best author, and you guys, she has such an incredible healing story. So I'm excited for her to talk to you about that. But she also has a new book coming out. And so we're going to talk about so many fun things today.
0:36Liana Werner-Gray:So thank you for being here. Thank you so much, Carolyn, for having me back on your podcast. Last time we did it virtually. We did. In person. I know. And it's been so fun seeing you at like Expo West and different things and running into you. And you just are a gem of a person. Oh, thank you. I just love that you're out there trying to help people heal. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, I'm trying to, my mission is just to help as many people as possible. Well, that's incredible. To bring in this information because it's not mainstream news. It's becoming more and more. It is. But still there's a lot of pushback, which we're going to talk about.
1:07A lot of pushback. And people just know what they've been taught and programmed in the system. So here we are just exposing all of that.
1:15Liana Werner-Gray:I love it. Well, you have such an incredible healing journey. And that's why I believe you have such a passion to help others. And so tell them your story and why that got you started in everything that you're doing. Yeah, well, praise be to God. So 17 years ago, I had early stages of cancer when I was 21. So super young. Yeah. I had a golf ball-sized tumor, 3.7 centimeters right here in my throat on my lymphatic system. And five years prior to that, I was binge eating on junk food. And I was raised very natural in the outback, in the center of Australia. I went to an aboriginal school. so unique you know most people live on the coast in australia very rarely meet people who live in the center but they there are people who live in the center and so we were taught from a young age that you could heal anything this was instilled in me from a young age that could heal anything with god the great spirit is what the aboriginal called called them uh called god and god's food straight from nature and that food straight from nature from the bush the plant the tree or the ground had the most nutritional value possible.
2:20If we go and pick it straight from the garden and eat it, that it would give us like the most amount of nutrition possible. And it would give us energy as in from the spirit of God. So this was like my upbringing. And I remember from age five learning all this, but it started at three years old. And then when I was 16, I was dealing with a lot of depression, anxiety, PTSD, a lot of emotional stuff from childhood. So I turned to food as my drug of choice instead of turning to God and, you know, wasn't raised Christian or anything like that. So I turned to food and I started binge eating on junk food and I knew it was wrong because this food was so far removed from nature and it was providing me with no nutritional value.
3:02It was just dead matter, but I became very quickly addicted and my cellular memory changed. And I would have, say, for example, gummy bears for breakfast, McDonald's for lunch, KFC for dinner. Like every meal was really, really, really bad. And I wasn't just eating a little bit. I was eating a lot of it. Like for one sitting, I could eat a packet of Tim Tams, a block of chocolate, a packet of lollies in one sitting. And so after five years of that, I ended up with the Gulf War size tumor in my throat. And I wasn't surprised.
3:33Liana Werner-Gray:Well, okay, let me ask you a couple questions. So growing up in Australia like that, is that the belief for most Australians or no? To eat healthy like that and it's energy from the ground from a higher being. Is that an Australian thought? It's an indigenous thought. So any people who were surrounded by indigenous people would 100 % have been taught that as well. But I think in general, Australians are healthier, more natural. But now when I go back, every time I go back, I see more ingredients sneaking into the foods and more pesticides. You know, GMOs were banned in Australia and they lifted that ban over 10 years ago.
4:09So Australians still think, oh, our food is clean here. Our meat is meat and our vegetables are vegetables. And it's not true anymore. The health is starting to decline. That's too bad. So the indigenous people, you know, they told me, okay, sister, go out to the world and teach them what we've taught you. And you did the opposite. Well, when I started, yeah. But then when I got the tumor, I was in hospital. I did the biopsy. That was my wake-up call. And I was like, okay, I need to go back to nature, back to my roots. and I need to actually apply everything they taught me. But the issue was, you know, everyone knows how to be healthy, really.
4:45Eat vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, meats, you know, organic, clean. But there was that missing thing for me. It was the addiction, the desires, the impulses, the cravings. That's what was missing for me. And that's why when I was in hospital, I was like, all right, that's the first time I ever prayed in my entire life. I'd never prayed before that at 21. And I got on my knees. I'm like, God, if you're real, I need to know you and I need something bigger than myself to get me out of this addiction and to heal me. Because all I want to do is go and eat McDonald's right now when I just got this diagnosis because I felt so bad.
5:19And, you know, anyone who's had an addiction knows that for five minutes you get this relief of the food or the drug or whatever it was. And I was like, why do I want to go and eat this thing that's killing me? And I knew I had done it to myself because of my diet, especially because it was on my lymphatic system, which is the body surge system. I'd put way too many toxins in. And so that's when I prayed. And then I was led to work with a naturopath and a functional doctor.
5:42Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. So I want to back up a little bit. How did you find this tumor? Well, it was sticking out of my neck. Oh, okay. So you could see it. You could see it. Yeah. Yeah. And it popped one night. So some tumors grow slowly and people don't notice. Some just explode if the body's under so much pressure. It was a carcinoma in situ, which means it was all in one place. So it hadn't spread anywhere else. But, you know, originally I thought it was a swollen gland, as you probably would in your throat. And then I just left it for a couple weeks and I tacked it with garlic and ginger because, you know, I knew about the natural remedies and it was getting worse.
6:16Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. So then you go to the hospital, get it removed. No, no. The biopsy, which, you know, the biopsy made it worse. And biopsies do make cancers and tumors worse. Nowadays they have scans and things. So I always recommend people, if you can do a scan, it is way less toxic than a biopsy. because it will aggravate the area and cause inflammation. So I did that. They told me it was early stages of cancer. And they said, okay, we can do surgery, cut it out, and then we can explore radiation chemo, especially if it gets worse and we can monitor it. And that's when I was like, okay, that's not the route I'm going to take.
6:53And so what did you do? And this is because of my upbringing. If I didn't have that upbringing, you know, if I was born into, say, a medical family or something and I only knew surgery and pharmaceutical drugs and things like that. I probably would have chosen that route. But I said, I'm going to go work with a naturopath and functional doctor. And they told me, we need to detox your body. We need to detox your gut, actually. And I was like, that makes sense. This was 17 years ago before people were talking about gut health. They said, even though the tumor is here in your neck, everything is gut health.
7:24And if you have good gut health, we have to drain that. It's going to drain your lymphatic system and drain the tumor out of your neck. and so it resonated with me and I was like yeah well I do know I need to detox because my body's so toxic I also was riddled with parasites in my blood I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue some days I was only awake for six hours a day wow I was so tired even the thought of getting up from my bed and going to the bathroom was like how am I going to do that wow and all of that due to
7:54Liana Werner-Gray:what you were eating? Very toxic diet. Okay. So when you had to do a detox, did you quickly change back to the eating that you did as a little girl? Not originally. Well, they said, first of all, we need to clean out your gut. So the naturopath recommended a colonic, colonics for me. So I did a colonic and a coffee enema every other day for two months. Okay. Good for you. Yes. And I didn't work. I couldn't work. I had no energy. So I just dedicated two to three months to just healing to do the detox. And then with the diet piece, I was like, okay, well, what do I do? Because I'm so addicted to these foods like fries, chicken nuggets, you know, burgers, all these toxic things.
8:35So that's when I felt God lead me to create the earth diet. I felt led to do a side blog and for 365 days, eat only foods that came from nature, straight from nature. And every time I had a craving for something to make it, but using natural ingredients. So fries, using potatoes cooked in avocado oil or coconut oil, olive oil, and making chicken nuggets with almond flour, turmeric, and some sea salt and baking it or cooking it in coconut oil. And so every time I crave something, I made a recipe for it. And now it's called replacement therapy. Oh, they have a name for it? Yes. Oh, interesting. It's a replacement therapy and it's very effective for people who are trying to get off addiction or cut something out of their diet.
9:23Usually people can't just cut something out cold turkey. Statistics show more people have better results if they replace it with something healthier.
9:32Liana Werner-Gray:Interesting. Okay, that makes sense because do you know what? My last thing to give up when I went on a health journey because I don't know if you know my story, But back in the day, I ate, like you said, like McDonald's, Burger King. I think I went to school probably with cold cereal and had a donut maybe. And you know what I mean? Just ate like that. So I cleaned up my diet. The very last thing that I could not get rid of was Diet Coke. And so then I finally replaced it with a kombucha. So I always loved at two o 'clock a Diet Coke. So at two o 'clock, I started grabbing a kombucha instead. And then that's what got me off.
10:05Liana Werner-Gray:So I did replacement therapy without even knowing it was replacement therapy. That's awesome. Cool. And now you have your wonderful energy drinks. Now I have energy drinks. Exactly. So cool. Okay. So you do the detox. You clean up your diet. But you still have this tumor. Yeah. So the tumor dissolved in three months. It completely dissolved. Just from changing your diet? Detox. Yeah. Okay. So I'm curious. Besides diet, though, did you do anything else? Yeah. So I did the colonics coffee enemas. I did castor oil on my gut and on my neck as well. And that's when I started drinking bentonite clay.
10:39Which, hey. I know we've talked about the last podcast in detail. And I was told from the naturopath at that time when they saw all the parasites in my blood to start drinking bentonite clay. And that bentonite clay is volcanic ash and lava that has a strong magnetic properties. But when we drink it, it absorbs parasites, heavy metals, toxins, locks it into its antibodies and removes it when the clay leaves our body. And so that was a powerful visual. I was like, okay, because I saw the parasites in my blood. We did a live blood test. Oh, interesting. Didn't see it actually live. To get the results in a test is one thing, but to see the parasites like little worms riddled in my blood in live time was so repulsive and scary.
11:26I'm sure. And it just felt violating too, like, whoa. So I started drinking bentonite clay, and I've been drinking bentonite clay for 17 years. So do you still drink it? Oh, yeah, I do. Every day? Not every day. I'll do a cleanup maybe like once a month or twice a month. It depends if I'm traveling a lot or if I'm eating, you know, on the road and stuff. And obviously I eat really clean out, but you just still never know when you're eating out versus you can't control it as much when you're eating at home. And I just did a five month parasite cleanse. And to be honest, was a little disappointed because I don't have that many parasites.
12:00Oh, interesting. Probably from the clay. It was a good experiment because it just goes to show that things like chlorophyll and drinking bentonite clay regularly for this almost two decades it keeps parasites away parasites hate bentonite clay and it i also put a bentonite clay on my tumor as well to draw it from the outside so i was attacking it from the inside and from the outside outside yeah and i love that you are
12:25Liana Werner-Gray:using multiple tools not just one thing it was the castor oil the bentonite clay the food things like that and juicing and that was another massive one juicing because i was so nutritionally deprived and deficient, I discovered that juicing was the fastest way to put nutrients straight into our system without doing an IV. I wanted to do an IV of vitamin C at the time and B17, but I couldn't afford it. That stuff was so expensive. So I was like, all right, the next best is to make fresh juice. And I would drink a juice every hour. Sometimes green juice, beet juice, green juice, beet juice. And that was giving me so much energy because my body didn't have any energy to break down foods really.
13:06So it was just going straight in, felt instant energy. The beet juice was cleaning out my gut. Beet's awesome for removing compacted waste stuck on the bow wall. And you know, people say five to 10 pounds of compacted waste is in everyone's gut.
13:22Liana Werner-Gray:Wow. So drink some beet juice and you'll automatically lose some weight. Oh yeah. You'll automatically go to the bathroom too. Oh my goodness. You know. Well, I want to ask you a little bit about the bentonite clay. So back when you were trying to get rid of the tumor, were you drinking the bentonite clay every day? Oh yeah, every day. When I'm sick and I tell my clients now, like if you're sick and healing, you want to do these things every single day because there's an imbalance. So you have to do kind of a lot of extra things to put into the body. But then once people get into maintenance, it's a different plan.
13:52So like a healing plan is different to a maintenance plan, but I was definitely drinking it every day and bathing in it every day as well.
13:58Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. So let's tell people how to drink it because it is just dry powder. So you obviously have to mix it with water. Yes. So how much are you drinking? Yeah. Okay. So about a teaspoon in a cup of water is the general rule of thumb, but you can drink a lot more. I like to put it in jars, heaping tablespoons and just fill up an entire jar of 16, 20 ounces and just shake it up and then drink that throughout the day. And it will leave a bit of sediment down the bottom. So, you know, you don't have to drink that because it can get a little gluggy people don't like the texture okay then you can pour more water in the next day shake it up again and you kind of have that base okay and it does have to be food grade so when i came to america i was like i need to find bentonite clay because in australia i was drinking the australian clay which came from western australia from the volcano when i came here i was like all right where's the volcano i'm going to be drinking this clay from And so that's when I found Redmond clay.
14:55And so it is food grade, which means that they filter it. And so some bentonite clay is only for facial mask. This is food grade, so it's safe. It does say on the label facial mask because of FDA stuff. And that's a whole other thing. That's a whole other thing. But it is food grade. That's what I drink. And you just want to make sure you don't use any metal because that will weaken the magnetic properties. So you always want to use wood or bamboo to stir in it or just put it in a jar and shake it up and drink it. Yeah.
15:28Liana Werner-Gray:Well, I want to ask you one quick question about bentonite clay because we use bentonite clay in our tooth powder. I love that. But we get a lot of grief about the lead that is in bentonite clay. Okay. Yeah. Good. And so if you're drinking it, what do you say to that? Yeah. Good question. So the lead that's in there, very, very small amounts of it. So the clay actually removes heavy metals like lead. So they've actually done studies and people can look this up on PubMed where even if they're drinking the bentonite clay, the clay is then taking the lead out of the body as well as the other metals that are in there.
16:01So it's not actually depositing lead into you. I know.
16:05Liana Werner-Gray:And I know that. And I try to teach that. And it is crazy the lead people that come after you. Yeah. Yeah. I know. I know. And I think sometimes people fixate on things that shouldn't be fixated on. I get that, but then if they look at the studies that the clay is removing it, it's not keeping it in the body. Because I know you know a lot about bentonite clay, so I just want to ask you one other question. I know right now it's really trendy for new moms that have babies that go and get their vaccines, that after the vaccines they rub like bentonite clay on their feet. Do you like that suggestion?
16:41Definitely, yeah. I think if they are going to vaccinate the kids, then for sure they should try and draw it out.
16:47Liana Werner-Gray:Draw as much of it as they can. Draw as much of it as they can out, for sure. Yeah. And the feet is a good place for, you know, toxins and metals and things to come out. And when people do parasite cleanses too, sometimes the parasites come out of the feet, little white worms. Oh, interesting. Come out of the feet. So the feet are a great, great place to pull it out. Okay. That was a random question. Yeah, yeah. And also on that, it is the best for beauty too. because it pulls out those toxins botox yeah and the ancient egyptians discovered this and they use bentonite clay way back in the day and also when we drink it too it purifies us it hydrates us it's the best for hair skin and nails but just a face mask at least once a month just to pull all the impurities out sets our face really hard and in place and it does take like a layer of skin off because our skin is gets really red after it and so it's much cheaper than laser and that's Good advice.
17:41Liana Werner-Gray:That was really good advice. Okay. So back to your story, you do all these things, including the bentonite clay, the tumors dissolves. Completely dissolve. Yeah. No surgery, no chemo, no radiation. Just completely drained out. That's a miracle. And then you at that point want to go teach others. Yes. And anyone who has healed and transformed knows, right? Like once you heal, you're like, okay, I want to tell everyone about this. Everyone needs to know it because I was suffering, you know, I was suffering for five years binge eating and five years now looking back is a short amount of time. And some people have had chronic illness and addiction and binge eating for 10, 20, 30 years, but it was living hell for me every single day.
18:24And now I've been set free from that. And it is just the best feeling ever. And I was just suffering so much. I'm like, I don't want anyone else to suffer like that, knowing that these are tools that can really help people. So as soon as people come to it and they learn these tools, They're also set free. And it's like, wow, I just wish that this was, you know, taught more in schools. And it is getting out there now more thanks to the Maha movement. You know, it really is becoming mainstream. More people know about seed oils. Who didn't know before? All this stuff, the mainstream media squished.
18:57But now they can't because we're the people, we're getting so vocal.
19:00Liana Werner-Gray:I know, which I love. I love because like I said earlier, when I started Just Ingredients, people thought I was crazy for what I was teaching. And now people are like, oh, yeah, we we do what you say. And, you know, it is more mainstream. You were ahead of the times. And now it's just like more common knowledge, more common knowledge. But there are still issues out there. And so you just wrote a book talking about seed oils, the truth about seed oils that comes out pretty soon. I do love how little it is to tell you the truth. You guys, some of these health books are so big that you get 100 pages in and you're like, okay, I'm done.
19:33Liana Werner-Gray:You can't read it all. Yeah. So I love this. This you can read in like three days. And also like a third of it is recipes. Oh, that's awesome. It's even shorter. I actually have never had someone on talking only about seed oils. So let's start at the beginning, though, the basics. What are seed oils and why are they an issue? Yeah. OK, so first of all, people need to know there are healthy seed oils and then there's really toxic seed oils. And this is where people get confused. And the basis to know is that some seed oils come from God, from nature, and those have so many health benefits. And the process that they go through to make is a cold press process.

21:37So it's very natural. Then there are toxic seed oils. They can come from nature, but also they were genetically modified in a lab. So obviously we know, I hope most people know by now, like we cannot get away with eating fruits from a lab. It's just not how God designed our bodies. And there's only so much the body can take before it creates some kind of issue. So for example, toxic seed oils are things like vegetable oils, or now people will see on labels plant oils. Soy. Boy. Plant oils. I've seen that one, but yeah, that's one to stand out for because people think, oh, plants are healthy. No, soybean oil, really, really toxic.
22:16Cotton seed oil. Peanut oil is also in the category of seed oils. Seed oils is a relatively new term that's been trending. So before seed oils, it was just called vegetable oils. So canola oil is the main one, vegetable oil. Those are now called seed oils, but you could still call them vegetable oil. but those are really really toxic because of the way that they're processed they usually go through a heat extraction process a chemical extraction process that makes them really toxic and then the omega-6 and omega-3 ratio goes out of whack when we get seed oils found in nature like healthy ones say like black cumin seed oil hemp seed oil you know these are really healthy seed oils chia seed oil sesame seed oil is a great one you know in a lot of asian cooking those seed oils come from nature god created them have a lot of health benefits and they go through more of a cold pressed process and so they have a lot of nutritional benefits so in the book i have a list of the toxic seed oils and the healthy seed oils and co-authored with sherry kalbam who the juice lady.
23:24I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So she helps like when I was healing 17 years ago, you know, was looking at juicing. A lot of her stuff came up then. So it's full circle that we've written this book.
23:35Liana Werner-Gray:That is full circle. Together. Yeah. Okay. So let's talk about these seed oils. So there's two main problems it seems like. So one, if they're GMO crops, been sprayed with glyphosate, they've been genetically modified. And the second one is their processing. And we know that through the processing, they probably have used hexane to get more oil out of those seeds. Two issues. So if they don't have those issues, are you okay with them? Meaning there's some canola oils out there that are not, that are cold pressed, that are organic. Okay. Yeah. But this is like, oh my goodness. This is, this really gets to me because canola oil was not created by God.
24:14It was not created in nature. It was, they started to create this in the 1970s in Canada in a lab because rapeseed oil was too toxic for human consumption. So they were like, let's take the rapeseed and let's mix it with something in a lab and make something that's healthy for people that we can put in food. I mean, come on. So first of all, it doesn't come. You will not find canola in nature.
24:37Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. All right. This is a new creation from man in a lab with science. Then they want to say on the canola oil label, organic non-GMO. This is not even possible. How can something that was created in a lab be organic and non-GMO? This is a labeling issue. and this is where you know labeling started legit and now we're looking at corruption in the labeling industry no one should be able to put an organic non-gmo label on something that was created in a lab that just makes no sense and it comes down to money you know follow the money that's why people need to know how to read labels and have that sense about them of like okay wait this was created in a lab yet it says organic that's not legitimate so that is crazy okay so So you do see things with rapeseed oil in it, though.
25:22Yes. So rapeseed oil is natural, but it's also super toxic, has a lot of omega-6s. The process of it makes it very, very toxic. If it is toxic with the high omega-6s, it creates oxidative stress in the body and the brain immediately. So rapeseed oil is super toxic. It creates inflammation immediately, oxidative stress. And what people need to know is that the seed oil industry is currently a$500 billion industry. I believe it.
25:48Liana Werner-Gray:I believe it. So how much do we think that they're putting into it, how much money to protect their industry? Okay, so I want to talk about that because a lot of those seed oils out there on the store shelves say heart-healthy oils. So why are they claiming that? Yeah, so well, this started in the 1950s and really got really popular in the 1970s because of Ancel Keys. And Ancel Keys at the time was a scientist and researcher that at the time, a lot of middle-aged American men were dropping dead with heart attacks. So they were like, okay, let's pin this on saturated fat, that they're having heart issues, high cholesterol from saturated fat, that saturated fat comes from things like butter, lard, and animal fat.
26:32And also at the time, this was when cigarettes were blowing up. I remember in the magazines and all the doctors were saying, you know, I smoke one cigarette a day for your health. Yeah. What? So they weren't saying, oh, people are dying from cigarettes. Cigarettes. It's from eating natural saturated fats like dog created in animals and butter. They painted on that and they said everyone should switch to seed oils because it's not high in saturated fats. And so that's when it became popular. And then the government all got into it. This is how the food pyramid was created. And Bobby Kennedy on Monday, I was just in D.C.
27:07at a Maha gathering, and he said we were given the wrong dietary guidelines for the last 50 years. Yes, we were. And now we have flipped the pyramid. Now, finally, we have sound dietary guidelines based on nature and based on what God has designed us to eat. But it was this whole thing back then where the government was in on it. Then the heart health of America was in on it. And it became a business. and then that's how they got seed oils into america and were able to really sell seed oils and seed oils are a much cheaper oil they make a lot of money on seed oils again it's a 500 billion dollar industry so of course they're paying you know doctors and top scientists to say oh yeah it is it is lower in saturated fat that's true so they're saying that's why it's better for you but it's not they're not taking into account the other 99 million problems with Seed oils, which I do definitely want to discuss, but also something else when people find out the history of seed oils, they're never going to want to eat seed oils again.
28:10And this was that back before World War I and World War II, cotton crops were a massive government subsidized in America. They finally figured out what to do with the leftover seed, which was make oil from it. Then World War I came, so they started using the oil for lubricants for the machinery in the war. Interesting. For the aircrafts, for the boats. And then after the war finished, they said, okay, what do we do with all this oil? So they got the influencers at the time, which were cookbook authors, doctors, to show people, here's how you can put it in your kitchen. Because at the time, people were using lard and butter.
28:51Liana Werner-Gray:And so people didn't know what to do with it. And also, these seed oils had a different flavor that people weren't used to. now people are used to it because of their cellular memory but back then they were like this is weird so they got put did a massive push in america in media magazines and encouraged all the women at the time who were at home cooking to buy it and make it for their families and that's how they got it into the industry then ansel keys comes along and is part of that whole plan and fits in perfectly saying that yeah they're low in saturated fats so it's better for your heart Wow.
29:27Lower your cholesterol. And that's how it's become so prevalent in America and the world. And that's the lie that people have been sold. And it's really sad because, you know, you hear like my friend's grandparents here and they're like, oh, I need to get some canola oil because I need to lower my cholesterol. Yeah. It's like, but in my book, I really went down the rabbit hole of every single issue that seed oils is connected to. And it is more than people realize. Seed oils are way worse than people realize. It's linked to everything from Alzheimer's, dementia, cancer, especially bowel cancer, infertility, hormone disruption.
30:05Liana Werner-Gray:And is this purely because they're so high in omega-6s or are there other reasons? Other reasons. The main one that Dr. Kate Shanahan believes, and I agree with her and she's featured in the book quite a lot, is oxidative stress and inflammation that it creates straight away in the body and in the brain. So oxidative stress in the brain is bad news. Why don't you tell my listeners why? okay yeah so as soon as we get oxidative stress it that's what cancer breeds on that's it mutates our dna that's what's linked to alzheimer's dementia if people eat a seed oil once in a while like you know they go out and eat at a restaurant and by the way 99.9 percent of restaurants in america use seed oils which is really sad we need to really start this revolution and ask our restaurants can you please use a high quality oil it actually doesn't cost that much more i know it doesn't that much more i know and there's that great app the seed oil scout app people can get they can see in their area which restaurants using seed oils which are not but if people go out and eat at a restaurant every now and then fine but if you're eating seed oils every single day or every other day that's when it builds up the oxidative stress in your system weakens your immune system creates inflammation and that's just a breeding ground for chronic illness, arthritis, all kinds of disease, cancer.
31:26Liana Werner-Gray:Yeah, inflammation is the root cause of so many health issues. And I had someone on the show the other day saying that 88 % of Americans deal with inflammation. And I think it's actually probably even more than that. Yeah, I would say it would be higher. It is sad. Yeah. And it's also linked to ADHD. And it's one of the most fascinating studies in there, which I learned from Dr. Mark Hyman many years ago, is on homicide. Interesting. Tell me about this. So they did a study in five Western countries, including America, UK, Australia. And in the areas where seed oils were more available and prevalent, they had higher homicide rates.
32:05Liana Werner-Gray:Interesting. And that's because it creates that oxidative stress in the brain. It makes people out of whack, out of balance. And also it creates oxidative stress for the liver. And we know that when the liver is affected, that it can create quick bursts of anger. Yep. Anger is stored in the liver. Wow, interesting. Okay, so let's talk about these fast food restaurants, though, because, like you said, so many are using these oils, the seed oils, because they're cheaper, right? You can buy them in big, huge masses for the restaurant industry. But then we do have these people eating fast food, some every day.
32:41Liana Werner-Gray:I have employees that every day are door dashing some luncheon. Yeah. And so what do you say to people like that? Well, you know, it is dangerous. You're putting yourself in a risk category of getting something, having something happen to you. I mean, people can feel it right away, too. If you eat seed oils for every day for a week and then you don't eat seed oils every day for a week and just eat healthy fats like avocado, olive oil, you can notice a big difference in your brain, brain fog, stress levels, anxiety levels. also seed oils are anxiogenic which means that they trigger the nervous system so they do cause anxiety so if anyone really wants to feel good you know you definitely want to cut it out get rid of seed oils just not worth it but i always tell people you know if you do slip up and you have it just make sure you have a green juice celery juice with cucumber ginger lemon or some chlorophyll after to help break it up and help get rid of that oxidative stress from your body well that's a good tip.
33:36Liana Werner-Gray:Okay, so there's so much noise out there on social media about seed oils. And you'll get a bunch of people like us saying don't eat them, avoid them. And then you've got that camp of seed oils are just fine. Don't worry about this. People are stressing you out. You know, eat the seed oils. Why are they claiming they're fine? Well, it comes down to being part of the system. Some people don't think ingredients really matter. Yeah, that's just not true. if you actually go down the rabbit hole and look at the science it's all in my book it's seed oils are so bad so toxic they're worse than people think so I really wanted to just load up on the science with this book because there's no way that this is even debatable at this point it's just not and when I handed this into the publisher they were like we need to cut the book by like half because I had so much science in there interesting and you know it's still good I have it because now I have a lot of like bonus stuff.
34:31But I just wanted to come at the seed oils with every bit of science that exists out there. And it is bulletproof. Like no one can argue these things. It's linked to all of these health issues. And I think some people are just, they just don't want to believe it. They just want to have their cake and eat it too. And it just doesn't work like that. Okay.
34:52Liana Werner-Gray:So let me give you one of the ones that I've heard before. one was well they contain omega-6s and we need omega-6s so they're fine to have well there's other things that have omega-6s that are natural that are a whole real food right like salmon and things like that so get it from that source but don't get it from something that's completely and yeah it causes oxidative stress and inflammation yeah i mean that's just craziness Okay, can we talk about the omega-6 and omega-3 ratio? Do you talk about that in your book? I do, yes. Okay, because why don't you explain it? Most Americans are too high on omega-6s, correct?
35:32Yeah, and that's because of the processed food lifestyle. So in nature, when we eat a balanced diet of healthy fats, which we all need healthy fats for our brain, we will naturally get omega-6s. Things like, say, sunflower seeds, for example, and salmon, they will have omega-3s and omega-6s, but the ratio is God's ratio versus it's being tampered with in a lab or a machine by man. So it has the balance that our brain can process and absorb and digest. So it's the perfect balance. Again, nature is perfect. And so when we have that balance, that's great. But then with these oils, it's high in omega-6s and sometimes no omega-3s or super low in omega-3s.
36:15And our brain was not made to be able to digest that. And our brain is predominantly made up of fats. So we do need healthy fats. But let's take sunflower seeds, for example, because those are natural. God created them. And those are incredible. Those have a balance of omega-3s, omega-6s. They have a lot of magnesium. They have iron. They have protein. They have fiber. So those are the perfect snack, right? Then we think, oh, so if we make it into an oil, it should be healthy for us as well, right?
36:42Liana Werner-Gray:Yeah. And there are organic sunflower oils and things out there, but that does go through quite a process. And some of them do chemically extract sunflower oil and some of them do not, but they still, the balance of omega-6s goes really off in sunflower seed oil. So it's best to be avoided. But when we eat sun butter, for example, if we take the sunflower seed and you crush it, that's still intact. The omega-3, omega-6 ratio is still intact. So that's great to eat. It does have a bit of oil in there, but it's natural. It hasn't been chemically processed. And this is what gets so confusing to the average person because they're like, sunflower seeds are good.
37:23Liana Werner-Gray:Oh, and sunflower butter is, but sunflower oil isn't. Yes. So that, I get it, why it gets so confusing for people out there. That's why I wanted to do this book to clear it up. And also I always tell all my clients you know always just think when you have something in your hand think what process did this go through to get from nature into my hand you have to know the process and it's a basic nutritional education that everyone should have and schools should be taught it and i don't know if you saw now that the new administration with hhs is saying that medical schools have to have at least 40 hours of nutrition training for all medical doctors thankfully instead of zero to four hours.
38:00So that's great. So we do need to get this education out there, but it is basic. It could seem overwhelming, but really people can learn all of this within a year. You know, if you follow me, you're going to know in a year how to read labels. You're going to know what's toxic, what's not, and you're going to be able to navigate that for the rest of your life and teach it to your community. Yeah.
38:19Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. Back to these omega-6s and omega-3s. We need both, but the ratio, did you put in your book the ratio that people should have? I don't think we put the exact in the book. Because I know that you're supposed to have like a 2 to 1 or a 3 to 1 ratio. You can even get tested to see what your ratios are. I just did that the other day, which was sort of fun. Nice. How was your results? Actually, it was good, but I want to lower it just a little bit. I had a 4.6 to 1. Okay. And so 3 to 1 is like better. But the average American, it used to be 20 to 1. And someone on my show just recently said that that's been raised to 26 to 1.
38:56Liana Werner-Gray:Oh, gosh. So that ratio of 26 to 1 is way too high. And that amount of omega-6 to omega-3 ratio is what's contributing to the inflammation. And we wonder why we have so much depression and anxiety and, you know, mental health things in this country. That's wild. Wow. And I have to definitely dig into that. Yeah. And I have a lot of bonus stuff on the website, thetruthaboutstatewells.com. We're going to keep posting like new things that we find there and like the 30-day guide to eating healthy fats and things. So we'll have to add that. That's fascinating. Yeah. And those tests are great to do because also omega-3 deficiency is one of the driving causes of people having anxiety.
39:37Liana Werner-Gray:Yes. And mood issues and so many other things. Well, because you need the healthy fats to help build the hormones and you need them for so many things. And we've villainized fat for so long. Like bean fat and healthy fats were two separate words. I wish we would come up like a new vocab word for us. I'm sure you're saying because the word fat can trigger a lot of... Well, everybody thinks like, oh, I don't want to eat fat because it'll make me fat. Yeah, it's the opposite. Like eat fat, get thin was Mark Hyman's book. Yes, yes. And so we villainized it for so many years. And so fat has become a confusing thing.
40:11Yeah. And, you know, I used to crave fast foods like all day, every day. And that's because I was deficient in healthy fats and omega-3 fats. and showed that's why when people do take either supplements or just make sure they're eating a diet that's really rich in omega-3 fats they will crave fast foods a lot less like the craving just
40:30Liana Werner-Gray:goes away completely yeah yeah that's so interesting okay i'm curious when you're writing the book was there one thing that really stood out to you or shocked you hmm well i would say actually yes seeing all of the studies that are linked to seed oils and all the issues that they cause because i really have to dig for that but but they're out there so they're all out there yeah and it's a lot of them and mainstream media cover that up and they want to defend it and people just believe mainstream media and they don't dig further but if you dig i was shocked like i knew seed oils were bad and knew that they were linked to cancer and Alzheimer's, dementia and infertility and all these things.
41:09But I was just mind blown how much proof and evidence there actually is.
41:13Liana Werner-Gray:Well, and it seems crazy to me because doctors always want to see the science and the science is there. The research is there. And our health has declined in America so much over the last 50 years. But seed oils have exponentially increased in the last 50 years. Exactly. So even the correlation. Refined sugar as well. It's just so obvious. So we need to also get back to common sense. Okay. I want to dig into a little bit more, though, about these seed oils and our health. So I'm curious, do seed oils actually affect the gut microbiome? They do. They create a very toxic microbiome, and they are breeding ground for parasites as well.
41:52Oh, interesting. Yeah. And that's a whole other topic of discussion is parasites. But a healthy gut microbiome, like seed oils should just never be part of that. We need probiotics. We need good, healthy fats. We need fiber. So that's one of the main things that I noticed immediately when I switched all of my seed oils to natural oils when I first started the earth diet when I was healing. My gut just completely changed like very rapidly.
42:19Liana Werner-Gray:Interesting. Yeah. OK, I want to ask another question about health. I have so many women who are just dealing with hormonal imbalances. Do you think seed oils can play a role in that? Yes, it's an endocrine disruptor. And so if anyone's having hormonal issues, you want to remove seed oils 100%. Do a seven-day test to see. I mean, you want to remove anything that disrupts hormones. And it does that because it affects neurotransmitters, but it also affects our reproductive organs. I do have some studies as well in there relating to hormones. Seed oils are classified as endocrine disruptors? You know, I'm not sure if they're actually in that classification, but I mean, the studies that I found, they are.
43:01Liana Werner-Gray:I mean, they're messing with your hormones, so therefore you're going to classify them as that. Yes. I don't know if science has, if hard science has, but they 100 % mess with hormones. Yeah. And especially, you know, parents feeding their kids. Something definitely don't want to give young kids. Developing brains and reproductive organs, just totally not worth it. Well, it also does make sense because hormones are metabolized in fat cells. And so that makes sense with the omega-6s as well. Okay, so interesting. And so I've also heard seed oils can affect people's energy. Oh, yeah. Do you agree with that?
43:39For sure.
43:39Liana Werner-Gray:Yeah, I mean, go and eat fast food and see how you feel. That's true, because it's contributing to the inflammation, which is going to cause lower energy, right? Yes, and the oxidative stress, and it can create brain fog, and just it's instant too. So interesting. Yeah. Like if I, okay, if I had someone over at my house and I was like, all right, here's some chicken nuggets and some fries cooked in avocado oil and olive oil versus here's like from, you know, a fast food restaurant and then eat both and then compare the energy after, it's going to be night and day difference. Yeah. And especially not even that, just even the energy that comes from both of those types of foods, the differences.
44:17Liana Werner-Gray:Yes. Okay. So let's help those that maybe haven't switched all of their seed oils yet. what's an easy swap in the kitchen? So the three main oils, healthy oils that people should use is olive oil for medium heat, especially for salad dressings. And some people also take a shot of olive oil once a day. I know, I've heard that. Yeah, just to get healthy fats in. Sometimes I crave olive oil, to be honest. I'm like, you know, I'm just going to take a shot or I'll make some Ezekiel bread and then just dip it in olive oil. I feel like I'm in Europe. So that one's great. And then also coconut oil is excellent for high heat cooking.
44:55And if people don't like the taste and smell of coconut oil, they can get refined coconut oil. So just went through a process of taking out the coconut smell and flavor. So that's great for hot frying, high heat. And then avocado oil is also excellent for high heat and doesn't really have that much of a flavor. Those are great to cook with. Sesame seed oil for anything with an Asian flair is also really great. And anyone wanting to destroy cancer cells, black seed Cuban oil is excellent and hemp seed oil is excellent too.
45:25Liana Werner-Gray:Do you cook a lot with black cumin oil? No, that one's just raw. Oh, okay. Put it on salads or put it in smoothies. Okay. I actually have never used that one. Okay, yeah. Isn't that crazy? It's quite potent. I use tallow. I use olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, coconut, you know, avocado, things like that. But I'll have to try that one. Yes. Oh, yeah. And tell is another good one, too. And of course, grass fed butter as well. That's the original. And that goes back to in the Bible. You know, that's the first mentioned oils, really, and healthy fats in the Bible. Yeah, it's crazy. I remember growing up as a little kid having butter.
46:02Liana Werner-Gray:And then all of a sudden my mom switched everything to margarine and spray margarine because that's what the media told her to do. You know, butter's not healthy anymore. So she was trying to be healthy and switched us all over to margarine. Well, that would have been the Ancel Keys effect. That would have been the media that she was listening to at the time and the government that said, here's the food pyramid. It's going to be healthier to have these things. Isn't that crazy? It's crazy. It is crazy. And I remember that so clearly. Wow. Okay, back to helping the moms in the kitchen, though, right now, or not even the moms, just anybody in the kitchen.
46:35Liana Werner-Gray:I like to use avocado oil for anything that calls for canola oil. You get all these recipes that say canola oil, and I'm like, just swap it with avocado. It's so easy. That's the best swap because the flavor is similar. Yeah, very neutral. Yeah, very neutral. More so than olive oil because olive oil can have a strong flavor. Okay, so every time I talk about avocado oil, I will get followers who say, it's a bunch of bologna. The avocado oil out there is only a little bit of avocado and a bunch of canola oil mixed with it. Or they'll even say that for now, extra virgin olive oil. They'll say, it's only a little bit of olive oil and the rest is vegetable oil.
47:11Liana Werner-Gray:So how do you know which one to choose? Yeah. So this is where it gets tricky, especially if people are buying olive oil from, say, Costco or big things of olive oil that are so cheap. If you're buying cheap olive oil, that's a red flag right there because that most likely means that it is slashed with canola oil. It could be 50-50 or it could be 80-20. People can do a test. Also, they can put their olive oil in the fridge. Okay. If it sets hard, it's olive oil. If it stays liquid, it has seed oils like canola oil. Really? Yeah. So the key is to know the brands and know the farms and know where it's coming from.
47:48Even if it says Italy, you have to watch that now because it can be imported in America, then they will slice it here. So I trust Copal Foods. It's Evie. I know the owner of Copal Foods and she sources olive oil from Italy and California. And she's just hardcore into no seed oils. And she's like us, you know, protector of people's health. and so I know her olive oil is 100 % olive oil and it's legit but okay just cut we can't cut corners when it comes to olive oil we cannot buy cheap olive oil and just unfortunately there's no
48:22Liana Werner-Gray:labeling I know no labeling which is crazy to me if there's like corn oil in there tell me especially if you have a allergy to corn or something yeah I know that's a whole nother discussion we could get on because after making products I know what is allowed to be hidden on labels, which I think is so wrong. It's shocking. Yeah, it is shocking. Okay, so this gets confusing for people. I'm like, well, I thought I was doing better by buying avocado oil. And then they find out that it's avocado oil mixed with canola oil or something like that. So does the freezing test in the fridge only work for olive oil?
48:57Liana Werner-Gray:That's a good question. Actually, I'm gonna have to... I wonder if it works for avocado oil. We got to find that out. lot okay well we'll get back to you listeners I do um trust you know Primal Kitchen's avocado oil for now you know obviously brands are always changing but you know I text Mark Sisson and I'm like Mark is it legit 100 % avocado oil you know the founder of Primal Kitchen and so you know to his knowledge and to ours it is so once we know the brands you know stick with the brands that we know are doing the right thing I love that let's take a quick break to hear from our show sponsor.

Okay, so you have recipes in your book. Yes. Do you have a couple favorites in there? Oh, yes. Okay. Well, one that really helped me was the cashew cheesecakes, mini cashew cheesecakes.
50:57Interesting. Yeah. And the cashew ice cream bites with chocolate sauce. And those are because they have coconut oil, refined coconut oil, but they're just so creamy. And then also the fats from the nuts. So I was so addicted to refined sugar and lollies and biscuits and all that. And so my cravings were intense in the beginning. So every time I did creaming, I would make those recipes, the cashew ice cream bites with the chocolate sauce and the cashew cheesecakes, which just whipped cashews with lemon and coconut oil, some maple syrup, sea salt. And it's so creamy, so decadent.
51:31Liana Werner-Gray:I've never had cashew cheesecake. Okay, I have to go try this. Yes. It does not sound that good. I'm going to tell you the truth. It is incredible. And I would always make them at my house and people come over and be like, wow, they're just so, so creamy. You know, it has to be whipped in a high-speed blender. Okay. But that would help me to not crave all of, you know, those things. So that's like a really cool sweet treat. And then also the chicken tenders, one of the OG recipes. Okay, that one I need. Yes. We're always looking for a good chicken tender recipe at my house. We're good with the almond flour, turmeric, bit of sea salt.
52:06Okay. And then I have my three-hour chicken bone broth recipe in here as well. Oh, okay. Yeah, so that one is just boiling an entire chicken with some olive oil. And obviously all the good healthy fats come out of that. The collagen comes out of that. And that's a three-hour process of boiling it and then having a chicken bone broth soup base.
52:25Liana Werner-Gray:Yum. Can add vegetables, can add some rice noodles. I love them. They're all that. Oh, it's incredible. If anyone's feeling sick or having sinuses or sniffly, just have a bowl of that and boom. Like, poof. So you only cook yours for three hours? I do because I have special cookware. Okay. Like an instant pot? I have this surgical stainless steel that they use the same surgical stainless steel in surgeries. Okay. Which has absolutely zero toxins in the steel. That's another thing. Stainless steel cookware is also sliced with other steels. Oh, interesting. It can be called in the cookware. Yeah.
53:04Yeah. There's a test people can do. You can get your cookware, put some water in there and a bit of baking soda and boil it and then taste it after it's cooled down. If there's any metal taste at all, there are metals in there that are coming out into your food. Wow.
53:20Liana Werner-Gray:Okay, I'm going to try that. Yeah. So this surgical stainless steel that I have, this cookware, it cooks in half the time. Okay. It's so high quality and because it's even. So something that usually takes, you know, 20 minutes to cook, like a piece of chicken or whatever, it takes like it's half the time. Everything has to do. Oh, I need this. Yeah. There's only two brands that do it in America that make it like this. I went down the rabbit hole of cookware. I was going to say, do you know what the brands are? Yeah. So one is Salad Master. And I have this on my website too, all this information.
53:52But one is Salad Master. It's surgical stainless steel made in America, assembled in America. And then the other one is Caraco, which is steel from America, but they ship it to China to assemble it and then come back. So the one that's assembled in China is a third of the price, but it is the same steel. So anyone who wants to support, you know, American made who loves to vote with a dollar and invest more, like that's what I did. That is the way to go. But if you know, if you're on a budget, then Caraco. But I have discounts to both of these on my website. Also, this kind of cookware is something you buy once.
54:25You never buy it ever again.
54:27Liana Werner-Gray:That is true. They have a lifetime warranty. These companies have been around for 80 years, and I know people have had it for 30 years and have handed it down to their kids. It's worth it. It's worth it. Before I went down that rabbit hole, I was buying cookware every five years, you know, the eco ones. But still, it has ceramics or the steel is like cut with stuff and it's not completely natural. Oh, that's good to know. Well, all that came up because of bone broth, because I was like, wow, I cook my bone broth a lot longer than three hours. So that's good to know. It saves us a lot of time and money in the long run too.
55:00Liana Werner-Gray:Yeah, that is true. As we wrap up here, what final advice would you give to people out there that are trying to avoid seed oils, get on a health journey, not be overwhelmed? What would you say to them? I would say the first thing to do is drink chlorophyll water every single day. Interesting. That is not what I thought you were going to say. Okay, tell us how to do this chlorophyll water. It's my number one tip that I've been saying for the last 17 years. Basically, you buy chlorophyll, super cheap, 15 bucks, and it's extraction from leaves. And you drop it in water and drink that first thing in the morning every day.
55:37That's the easiest, like, non-overwhelming thing that people can do. I did not think you were going to say that, but I love it. Okay, so how much chlorophyll?
55:45Liana Werner-Gray:Just a little drop? Yeah, people can start. I mean, I do a whole dropper full. I travel with it too, but you can just do a few drops. It doesn't have taste or some of them have peppermint oil in there. I love the Earth Harmony brand. I know the people, great high quality. And it will pump oxygen straight around in your system. It pumps energy straight to your brain. It's instant energy. And it gets your blood flowing too. It also alkalizes the body. Parasites hate it. You know, it keeps your body alkaline. And if you start the day in that healthy way, for the rest of the day, you're going to feel better.
56:16And it's a great hack to detox too, detox seed oils, oxidative stress, inflammation. Love it. And also it's 528 hertz. So every bit of food or liquid we can measure. And 528 hertz is a very high frequency, which is a frequency that heals and repairs DNA. So it's great for healing. And lastly, I'll say under a microscope, chlorophyll looks like perfect human blood, but it's made of magnesium. Interesting. Where blood is made of iron. And so we are an imprint of what we eat and drink. So when we drink chlorophyll, our blood mimics that. And we don't always have perfect blood. Like when I was sick, I saw my blood.
56:55It wasn't perfect circles. They were stuck together. The chlorophyll, what it does, it makes the blood perfect. And it makes oxygen just flowing through it. And then also, you know, there are two scriptures about it too.
57:07Liana Werner-Gray:Oh, let's hear them. Do you know? Yeah. Ezekiel 47, 12 says the leaves will be for medicine. Interesting. And then Revelations 22.2 says the leaves will heal the nations. Oh, interesting. I mean, and it is love feeling so restorative and it's so affordable. And that's how good our heavenly father is that he's created something that's so cheap, so easy, so accessible that we can do so simply, but it gives massive results, massive benefits. And so drinking the leaves, also eating the leaves is great too, dark leafy greens, but drinking them is excellent because it just penetrates straight into our cells, straight into our blood system.
57:47Liana Werner-Gray:Oh, I love this so much. Okay, so the second thing I do, I don't want to leave here today without sharing this, is eating apricot seeds. Okay, you just handed me these to try. So tell them why you love apricot seeds and I'm going to try one of these. Okay, so apricot seeds are in the inside of the fruit that usually we throw away. And we were told as kids, don't eat the seeds because they're toxic for us. But we never questioned why, right? Did you ever question? No, I didn't. Why? Yeah. So, you know, I love to go down these rabbit holes. If we actually research all the native tribes around the world, guess what they did?
58:21They all ate the seeds. Oh, interesting. And it's because they're bitter. And they know that bitter is better. And that bitter kills all bad things. It kills cancer cells. It kills parasites. And so we need to eat more bitter foods. And these days people are chasing the dopamine, so they're eating a lot of sweet foods. But we need bitterness. So the apricot seeds have B17 and amygdalin in them. So what happens is when we eat them, if they find a cancer cell, they will explode cyanide and kill the cancer cell, but spare the healthy cell. Interesting. So this went viral 50 years ago in America. It was known as the cancer cure.
59:01And there were doctors, they found out about it. they started doing B17 IVs for cancer patients. People were healing cancer left, right, and center, and including my mom. Unfortunately, when I was healing cancer, I didn't know about the apricot seeds, but after I'd healed, I researched a lot more things that were killing cancer cells and learned about them. So that's one of the top things my mom did to heal breast cancer. And she's breast cancer-free over 10 years now. And so now I'll eat them for prevention. I eat five to 10 a day. It's recommended to start with one, see if there's any detox symptoms but some people with certain types of cancer like thyrocancer they can feel it tingling and that is their apricot seeds are killing the cancer cell interesting
59:43Liana Werner-Gray:so well if they release cyanide though i'm sure there's a lot of pushback on this as that's why oh it's the number one most demonized food on earth if you google it or look in chat gbt it'll say they're dangerous you'll get cyanide poisoning no one has ever died of cyanide poisoning and John Richardson, who founded RNC, actually his father was one of the medical doctors who was healing people with it. He talks about this, you know, no one's ever died of cyanide poisoning. And there are a lot of wellness centers and cancer centers who are still doing the B17 IVs to this day, although you can't find that on the internet, of course.
1:00:18But it's very effective. What do you think? Interesting.
1:00:22Liana Werner-Gray:You know what? They're not as bitter as I thought they would be. I was expecting very bitter okay very gross well maybe it's because you're you know quite healthy maybe it's not as much of a shock right now it gets it does get worse okay the beginning it's like oh it's kind of like almond but then all of a sudden it hits and it's very bitter yeah and but it almost is like you know like almond extract yeah why does it taste like it has a little almond extract oil like it's it's a nice taste but bitter and you know it's not the worst thing i've had much much more bitter things that is for sure and people can take supplements if it's too bitter they can just drop it straight in there actually i'm formulating one right now that has the top three things i recommend for people with cancer which is chlorophyll apricot seeds and sephorafane so i'm putting it all into one capsule that's incredible people will be able to do that but you know if you also if you google it you have to know like follow the money and the industry it's like the cancer industry came after all the doctors doing this 50, 70 years ago because they cannot patent apricot seeds.
1:01:27You cannot patent something in nature. So they can't make money off it as a cancer cure. But people need to know that this is curing a lot of cancer and it's great for prevention as well.
1:01:37Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. I'm going to go do a lot of research on this. Yeah. Go deeper than Google and chat to BT. That's all I want to say. Yep. Okay. I'm curious because you weren't Christian, but became Christian after God answered your prayer, I guess, when you had the tumor? Yeah. Well, I got baptized at 16. At 16, I went into foster care. Family got separated. Siblings got separated. And that was when I started binge eating on junk food. That was my way to cope. Although I thought I was coping, but I obviously made everything work. The pastor at the time told me now that you don't have a mother or a father, that God will become your parents.
1:02:13And so, and it totally resonated with me. And then I got baptized and gave my soul to Jesus then but I wasn't ministered to I didn't know we had to pray I didn't want to read the bible so I got lost in the world basically and then the next time I connected with God was when I was 21 and when I first time I prayed and and then God answered my prayers and completely blessed me and turned that all that suffering into such a big blessing and when I started my blog it went viral and I ended up getting multiple book deals was able to move to America, which was a dream come true for me. I love America.
1:02:48Now I'm a dual citizen. And so at that point now, then I'm like, okay, God is definitely real. Even just in the last few years have been just pressing into God more and realizing how much more there is to learn and just going through the Bible and all the biblical healing that's there. So I'm already working on my next book, God's Daily Medicine.
1:03:09Liana Werner-Gray:Oh, I'm excited for that. I'm so excited for that. It's all the biblical healing and stories and all the things in the Bible with the foods and the leaves. Good for you. That will be a really interesting book. Yeah. Well, you're an amazing person to turn your hardships into blessings for others. So thank you for everything that you're doing. Tell people where they can find you and where they can find the book. The book is on Amazon, The Truth About Seed Oils. And people can find me. they can just type in in Google the earth diet and all my platforms will come up or my name Liana Warner Gray and it will come up my Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, you know, whatever platform people prefer TikTok.
1:03:50Yeah.
1:03:51Liana Werner-Gray:Okay. Perfect. Yeah. Thank you so much for being here. I know the listeners have learned a lot. I learned something about chlorophyll today, which is exciting when I learn something new on a show. So thank you. Well, maybe you'll see it in some of your drinks. I know. Actually, that's what my mind was thinking about. I'm like, why do I not have a chlorophyll drink, a morning drink with it? And it is about to trend even more. During COVID, it went viral. People found out about it. But it is Jordan Rubin. Oh, yeah. He's getting on it. There's a lot of people. A lot of people. It's about to boom.
1:04:23Liana Werner-Gray:All right. Well, you might see a chlorophyll drink coming soon. I always end the podcast with asking my guests five quick questions. So the first question is, what emerging health topic are you most excited about right now? Berberine as a natural GLP-1. I am too. We sell a berberine and then we also sell a Crave support that has even a better form of berberine in it. That's amazing because we need people to do that instead of the GLP-1. I'm a huge believer in it. Yeah, me too. Okay, number two, what's a piece of advice you'd give your younger self? Use the replacement therapy. Oh, I love that.
1:05:01If I'd known that from the beginning, okay, you know how to eat healthy, but then every time you have a craving for cookies, whatever it is, make it using natural ingredients.
1:05:08Liana Werner-Gray:I love that. Number three, what's the one health practice you'll never compromise on no matter how busy life gets? Chlorophyll. Every single day. I have had chlorophyll every single day for the last 17 years. That is incredible. It's also an internal deodorant, and it is the best thing for skin. Well, your skin is absolutely beautiful. So I'm going to start drinking it just for that. I just turned 39. And people all the time, they're like, you know, they think my skin is a lot younger. And they're like, what is it? I'm like, well, it's the bentonite clay and chlorophyll. That's the best beauty hacks known to women.
1:05:42Liana Werner-Gray:I'm going to start adding both to my routine. Yeah, it's amazing. We need to teach young girls this too because then they can avoid other stuff. That is true. Yeah. All right. Number four, what's your favorite Just Ingredients product and why? The toothpaste. The new toothpaste. Love it. Because it has the bentonite clay. And the bentonite clay is so good for gums. and teeth and also it helps to balance bacteria and also parasites it can get rid of parasites in the mouth that people don't realize oh interesting yeah so it's great and also just to swish it around the mouth too so like brush and then swish and and gargle and and if you swallow some it's totally fine totally fine that's what i tell moms with their kids like it's fine if they swallow it's actually good for them it's going to be good for their gut and yeah because parents get so worried about their little two and three year olds like oh they swallowed half of it And I'm like, yeah, it's great.
1:06:29Liana Werner-Gray:They probably needed it. That's good. Like get the clay into them when they're young. I'm glad you said that, though, because we never talk about the parasites. And so that's really interesting. I'm going to have to start talking about that. Nice. Yeah. All right. Last question. What is the best ingredient you've found to life? Jesus. Oh, I love it. Yes, because Jesus offers everything. Seek first the kingdom and everything else is added unto us. And that's definitely been true for me. Oh, I love that. Well, thank you so much for being here. It is always a pleasure when I get to speak with you.
1:06:59Liana Werner-Gray:And so thank you for taking the time to be here. Thank you so much for having me, Karlyn. You're such a blessing to me and this world. In this episode, I sit down with four-time bestselling author and natural health advocate Liana Warner-Gray to hear her powerful story of healing and transformation.
Liana shares how being diagnosed with early-stage cancer at just 21 became a turning point that changed everything. Raised in the Australian outback on real, whole foods, she eventually drifted into years of binge eating and processed foods—until a serious health crisis brought her back to the foundations she grew up with.
She walks us through the holistic steps she took to heal, including working with a naturopath, detoxing her body, and focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods. One of the most impactful tools she shares is “Replacement Therapy,” where she recreated healthier versions of her favorite junk foods, helping her break cravings and support her healing journey.
We also dive into her upcoming book The Truth About Seed Oils and talk about how industrial seed oils may contribute to inflammation, gut issues, hormonal imbalance, and chronic disease. Liana breaks down how to spot them on labels and why the type of fats we eat truly matters.
Her story is a powerful reminder that healing is possible when we get back to real food and start paying attention to what’s in our everyday diet.
