What I was aware of when I was traveling so much for my job is that you can literally go into somewhere, do the job, leave and have never had any contact with that place. Yes. Real contact. I knew that it might be the only time I would go. And so I got a guide and a rickshaw and I went around Beijing on my own. But it was so good. I'm so glad that I did it. Welcome to Travel Secrets with me, Tanya Rose, the podcast sharing wisdom for fellow travelers. Each week, I ask my guests to reveal their six travel secrets and the holidays and adventures that surround them.
51today my guest is the wonderfully wonderful rosemary ferguson who i will refer to as rose if that's okay thank you top model in the 90s until she reinvented herself as seamlessly as possible as a leading wellness now i'm not going to say guru because that's probably not the right word, but authority, I think is better. Naturopath, nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner, known as the queen of the reset. You have a place in Harley Street. You're based now in the Cotswolds, which I am very jealous about. And we've already talked. We're going to find you a house. Exactly. Find me a house. And then we can go to Bamford together.
28Hooray, hooray. You wrote a book called Juice. I did a long time ago now. Which I am going to go running out and getting. And you're also the founder of the five-day plan, which I can't wait to hear more about. Loved by celebrities and normal people like me, I cannot wait to hear your travel secrets. Welcome, lovely Rose. Thank you, Tanya. It's an absolute pleasure to be here. Well, it's lovely to talk about travel and wellness and everything. They're so combined, aren't they? Yeah. I mean, I think it's been interesting actually talking about wellness and travel and the change in travel because there was definitely a time when people just go away to like have it large and come back feeling terrible and now and I don't think it's an age-related thing I think it's just a shift in culture people tend seem to be going away to get experience of things and to or to do a retreat or whatever it is but it seems like people want to go away and get different things from their travel than I perhaps did at one time in my life.
26Well before we go into your travel secrets perhaps you can just tell us a little bit about yourself and how travel has impacted the person that you've become? Well, it's interesting actually, because when I was looking at the podcast and thinking about where I'd been, I've traveled a lot and it's been a really mega part of my existence. I traveled a lot as a child. So when I was seven, when we, I'm a twin, so that's how I say. When we were seven, my whole family, we moved to Brazil. We moved to Rio when I was seven because of my dad's work. And from Scotland, because my dad's Scottish so we live in Scotland until I've seven went to Rio very different than the worst case very different and then and so and we did while we were there quite a lot of traveling you know we went to the Amazon we traveled around and about Rio a lot and a bit North America so I lived away from home and I think it's something that I wished I'd done with my kids it's just gives you that other perspective um and then also then my dad traveled a lot when my parents separated my dad was away so we used to go to malay he moved to malaysia for years and so we would spend summers there then he was in portugal 15 years so travel from a family point of view has been a major part of my family life and then modeling i mean it was just thinking about when And it was really great thinking about all my history of travel because there's been a lot.
53Because when you're a model, you do shit, crazy shit. You go to insane places and do a shoot there for a day and then you go somewhere else. So I feel very, very fortunate that I have seen a lot of the world. And I love travel. And it's funny because my husband does not love it so much. My husband's exactly the same. I live on an airplane. I love it. And literally I can pack, I'm not a good packer, but I can pack and go within, you know, minutes. And when I come back, I'm home. He literally has to plan for three weeks before we go on our annual holiday, which is the same place that he's been going since 1969.
29He is the world's worst traveler. And he's married to someone who literally put her job, travels all over the world, which is nice for me because then I have that. When I go to the same place for holiday, I'm not working, whereas the rest of the time I'm working. So how funny. opposites obviously attract I know also really can't stand going through the airport together because let me tell you I do it very differently to him it's like he wants to get there really early he wants to I mean I'm not one for actually getting to the airport really late I have to say I'm not up for playing chicken with the flight because it's too stressful but he wants to have sit down and have breakfast I just want to get on the plane I want to get on the plane first so that I can settle in you know we travel very differently but it does work also my husband goes why are you going shopping at the airport let's just go to the lounge and sit there for however many hours before he's got there.
15I said, no, no, I want to go and get there. He said, but you don't need anything. And I said, no, but the shops are interesting. I actually like going and looking around the duty-free shops. So funny, I give him a heart attack every time we go traveling, poor man. Thank you for watching Travel Secrets. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I'm enjoying doing it. Please take a second and subscribe now. Let's get into your travel secrets. So what's the number one destination you think everyone should go to once in their lifetime? time one was the amazon because i when i was thinking about it it's saying i haven't been there for a really long time 40 years so it may be very it might be very different now but for me it was you know my actually one of my daughters is going to brazil in at the end of this year and i was like you really should go to the rainforest if you can in a in an ethical way i don't you say i don't know what it's like now if it's really like touristastic in which case it's probably not so great to suggest that but i am very grateful to have seen it in my life um uh the other one was new york new york city i lived in new york for years and i went back there again a few months ago and it's i still love it i still get excited when i go there i took all my kids there a few years ago i just think i mean london obviously is the best clearly but new york even in today's climate i would you know it's just a very special city yeah it's very vibrant it's very vibrant yeah and I think the other one that I thought of was Thailand I have a real soft spot for Thailand I've had some really amazing travels I just think this you know I was thinking particularly of Krabi um which I know again you know they're all busy places but um it is so beautiful like the the cliffs coming cliffs what are they called things coming out of rocks thank There's a better word for that.
04So Crabby was where they filmed the beach. Right. And I think The Hangover Part 2. Exactly. All good reasons to go. I actually can't remember The Hangover Part 2, but I know The Hangover Part 1 was one of the funniest films I've ever seen. It's so good. It's so excruciating. It's so excruciating, but so much fun. And exactly what you think will happen in Vegas. Yeah, exactly. I actually can't remember a Crabby bit in there, but I just remember the bit, yeah. but a great thought so when you were living in New York and modeling is that when you were modeling yeah so how long were you in New York for well I was there uh for about five years I think I moved there when I yeah I moved when I was 18 moved back when I was 23 and where did you live then well we lived on the west we lived in the west village but we lived near the meat packing district cool so we were on Jane Street by Horatio and um it was the meat packing district then so it wasn't like it is now and it literally in the summer it was quite rich the smells that would come you come out it'd be 100 degrees and there'd be these cut off something else especially if you were feeling a bit fragile but um we live next to this restaurant called tortilla flats which lots of people if they remembered that time it was quite a famous mexican restaurant and it but it was just really great it was so much fun like mexican music margaritas just literally there across from my house and as a model were you doing photo shoots or catwalks or what were you doing?
31Oh, yeah. I did all of it. Yeah, I used to do all the shows and the shoots. And that flat, we lived on Jane Street. It was with Dave Sims, his photographer, and Guido Palau. He's a very well-known. They're both very well-known now. All together in the same. And then we're Belfort. Yeah, it was our little flat. It was a really fun time. Oh, how wonderful. Yeah, it was great. That sounds amazing. So three great places. And it's very difficult to actually choose that one destination. So I'm glad you've given us three choices. What's your most unexpected travel experience? This is a difficult one, but I sort of came back to it a few times.
08And actually, I went to Beijing and I was in Beijing for 24 hours for a job. This is what I mean. Crazy. You do crazy things. I was there for a Louis Vuitton job and there were lots of people doing, you know, it was like, I don't think it was a show. It was a shoot or a car thing. It was something. Anyway, I knew that it might be the only time I would go. and so I got a guide and a rickshaw and I went around Beijing on my own but I it was so good I'm so glad that I did it because I have never been back I had 24 hours everybody in the morning was getting I mean not I didn't go through the night but I was up bright and early and out and yeah and it was just kind of weird being on your own and and it felt very very it was it was a bit of a culture shock for me and I was young I think probably 21 something like that um so So, yeah, and it was like being in my little bubble with this amazing tour guide who was just taking me down the back streets.
07We went to the palaces. And, yeah, and it was kind of, it was just a little bit surreal. Did you go and eat on your own as well? Yeah. Well, I went with my tour guide because we were friends. Yeah, yeah. But then you had a real experience. So it wasn't just looking at things. You actually experienced the local cuisine. Yes. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, we went exactly. We went down to a local place for lunch. and the thing I think because what I was aware of when I was traveling so much um for my job is that you can go you can literally go into somewhere do the job leave and have never had any contact with that place yes real contact um so for me that was a big place to go and I really wanted just to make the most of it well you need to go back I do you need to take your children and actually the peninsula which is where we're filming now has an amazing hotel in Beijing but they also have a fantastic hotel in Shanghai so you need to do both yeah and then you can go and see all the Great Wall of China and all of those things as well yeah because I never did that that's true my kids would you know they were all grown up so that's it's just finding the time isn't it but it's a wonderful place to go to yeah yeah good idea I like it top two so what's your most overrated or underrated and it's very difficult to say this place is overrated because most people don't want to be mean but it's always good to have both yes well there is one and it is time specific so I'm not I'm not being mean about the place because I love it but Ibiza in August is absolute hell and I would avoid it at all costs and I do not understand why anybody would go and cut to me going in a couple of weeks I'm not but I might go I just find it the whole thing is stressful and I really genuinely love Ibiza I have spent many many many many many trips there but it's just when I think about it in August I think about traffic I think about a complete fight to get a table in a restaurant I it just I can't think of anything I'd less rather do I mean there are lots actually but you know what I mean Ibiza in August would be something that I probably would avoid avoid and think it's a little bit overrated because so many people think it's great i don't get it um and then underrated can i do underrated yes please do underrated for the same thing is scotland in august as a very proud daughter of a proud scot as a daughter of a very proud scot um we have had some trips there and the kids moan they don't want to go and when we go it's always great august or april whenever it is it we always have a really nice time where do you go in scotland well we went to we usually the last time we went to saddle um we did landmark trust they have the most amazing places there so we went to saddle which is near campbell town which is where my granddad isn't where my dad's from just happened to be so um beautiful beaches at west coast is basically where we head and we always always have a really nice time it's very simple i think because there's no sunshine you don't have anybody worrying about getting out in the sun it's like you just chill a bit but actually scotland in the summer can be beautiful yeah weather wise yeah well we went in april once and well i made one of the kids swimming this evening it was beautiful the beach is gorgeous yeah it can be really well i went to school in scotland i went to gordonston and we used to have to jump into the north sea every morning on a cruise every day on a cruise so we had a week a year where we did this cruise even in the summer I've never felt cold like it I mean I know everyone's into cold water swimming now but I think I've done my bit five years of that that was enough to put me off but it is the most beautiful beautiful place and that west coast of Scotland doing a cruise every year was just amazing I absolutely love it I just did the Melbourne Royal Scots Room because I work for Dior I work with Dior I consult them and we just did a wellness retreat on the train and it is it well I was in heaven I was so happy you're having a massage looking out the window oh how wonderful so how long does that take that we did it we did three nights on the train and do you all's got a spa on the train yeah of course they do that's incredible it's really amazing train travel is so fantastic i love the train i love the train i really do i think it's just great just watching the world go by very happy and talking about ibiza is that somewhere you have a home or you just go to on holiday obviously not in august but you go back there and you've done retreats there tell us a little bit about what you do when you go to ibiza and my favorite time to go to Ibiza is that well you see my kids aren't at school now so I don't have to worry about half terms but the best time to go to Ibiza is that last is the summer half term that May half term that's when we used to go and you can literally we used to I tell you where we used to go we used to go and stay on Talamanca Beach oh yeah which is really close to the town but in at that time of year it's completely empty so you can be in the busy part of Ibiza without being squashed or stuck away you know so you can walk into the town you can walk to the marina you can get on a boat to form a terror and um and the kids loved it it was really it was always did you stay in a hotel there or camp we used to stay in we stayed in a what's that hotel called it was such a funny oh the Argos so at one end you've got now you've got a nice nobu but there was a Sinbad Sinbad I think at one end of Talamanca and Argos at the other and it is it's very funny it's definitely not luxe but it was great the kids thought it was hilarious they loved it um but otherwise we'd do an airbnb or get a villa or something like that and do you do retreats in Ibiza so last year I did do one and I did it with um with Serena do you know Serena Cook oh yes she and I did one with Bryony and we did that in March and it was unbelievable it was so great it was the best week and what do you do when you do your retreats so i so brianie deary who does pilates uh she did the pilates and i did the menu and the food and the juicing and stuff and then i did consultations um we did some wild swimming cold swimming we did two amazing hikes and brianie did pilates we had a bit of sound bath we did a cow ceremony oh it sounds amazing it was really nice actually oh i want you to let me know when the next one of roses.
25That's what everyone keeps saying. You need to do a new one. I know, Serena, we need a house. That's fantastic. That takes us beautifully onto food and drink. Food and drink is so important in life and it's all part of your very lovely life, but it's also part of travel. So what do you like eating? Where do you like eating? What do you like drinking? Let's just talk about food and drink in general. I really like I will take time to find somewhere to eat it doesn't need to be posh but it does need to I can't one of my favorite things to do when I travel is to get go to the supermarkets and the markets and get my own food um I you know I don't know my husband would say I'm controlling about food it's not that I control what I eat it's just I don't want to eat crap yeah I mean and I would and I'm also not really that strict but I just don't want to go and eat processed food like a crappy white you know you can get those just white bready things yeah i want to you know i want to eat the local produce for one so um when i travel i often get billas because i like to cook so that's one thing and then i will take time to find really and it could be street food it could be i don't know that's a great thing actually about social media is you can go on tiktok particularly and say where's really what's the best i don't know pad thai or what's the best steak or whatever it is.
48And usually you can get quite good steer from there. So that's what, and I tell you what, I'm not great at cooking. I'm not a great cook. I'm a decent cook, but fish, I can't. I'm really rubbish at, really rubbish. So if someone else, if I'm sitting somewhere by the sea, oh, I'd like to go for a fish, you know, to a fish restaurant. Have a lovely fish. Yeah. Caught from the day's catch. Yeah. There's something really nice about that. And have you got a favorite restaurant that you go to? Um, where, when we're, well, we spend quite a lot of time in New York, actually. I think with the children, you know, long haul flights, we did do some amazing trips, but it's sort of in the summer, we just feel like we'll just go there.
27Yeah. Um, and in Dea, there's a tapas, which is my favorite tapas. It's called Cellini's. Um, and it's nice because you can, everyone can get what they want. So someone can get a burger, someone can get the squid, someone can have the pet. Yeah, it sounds delicious. It's really nice. It's just, it's a nice atmosphere and I can have my full spritz. Yes, very nice. And what about here? Where do you eat when you're in London? I mean, there are places like Locatelli's, which is, I love Locondi Locatelli's. Yeah. And then Jay Sheik is still, is one of my favorites just because I think it's old school.
01And tell us about your juicing. So is it a five-day juice that you do? The, what, for the five-day plan? Yes. The five-day plan actually has evolved into our health club, which is an online platform just because of COVID. So it became difficult. But actually the five-day plan was designed to show people you can eat and feel better. So it's shaped on a food plan because I think at the time when I created it, everybody was doing that. Juice, juice, juice, feel really, really hungry. Binge, binge, binge. It was part of a binge purge cycle, which is something that I am passionate about, like leveling off so that people don't do this.
44You know, they're not feeling great and they're feeling awful. I just see it a lot in clinic and it's a really unhealthy way for, you know, people aren't happy like that. So the five day plan was based on eat this and look at how you feel in five days. That was, you know, it. You don't need to be hungry. You just don't, you need to change a little bit of how you eat. So no snacking. you need to change what you're eating and you will feel great and yes if you need to lose weight you'll lose weight but it wasn't really focused on that it's a thing for life really it's a thing for it's just like here you go this is what you can do every day um i mean it is quite tight i'd say i don't eat like that every day but it it does show you that you can do it with food without starving yourself without being mean to yourself and how do people um go on to that five-day plan so it's an online platform do they take a membership or something so our health club is a is a membership and there's something every month but then we do i do do plans throughout the year that you know so there'll be a september reset there'll be a january reset that you can so even if you're not a member you can still join join that those ones um with our health club there's something going we've just been doing 12 weeks of the metabolic method so that's it's been a very deep dive into metabolic health um and also just changing habits over three months you can really get some habits new habits going and do they actually get to meet you or talk to you we're gonna we did well yeah no i do lots of live on on because they're the great thing about online is that it and the great thing about covid is that it opened up geographically yeah because before i was very london centric and now i have clients in all you know all over the world so we i do live I do clinics every week online.
27So, and then we have a doctor on call who does once a month. Will you have a new subscriber? Because I need to subscribe straight after this podcast. I'm very excited. And I'm coming on your next reset. Good. So what is your top travel secret? Okay. So when I was thinking about this, I was thinking about, should it be what to take on holiday, how to do a holiday or to do travel? And then I thought about actually one of my secret destinations that I think is definitely worth going to. It's not really, it's not a secret, but somewhere that people probably wouldn't think about and maybe they should.
59I'm a big fan of a road trip or a train trip, but I'm a big fan of like just being able to go with the flow a little bit. And I did a road trip across Texas once. And I think when people talk about road tripping in America, they always talk about PCH and, you know, doing the West Coast. And we did one across Texas and it was it's so beautiful we didn't do it in the summer it was sort of around April time and it was unbelievable did you do it with your kids no I didn't it was before I had kids actually so it was a while ago now but it was amazing I did I went with some friends we hired a car it was just great it was really really great slow travel slow travel and then just yeah just going with the flow and it was great and the rivers you can swim in and the flowers were amazing um food yeah it's fine but it was great how lovely and on the other thought process if you were going to say how you travel and all that sort of thing how do you travel are you a good packer and do you take specific things with you when you go or let's just talk about that tip wise I am a terrible packer I take everything and the kitchen it depends how long I'm going for I'm trying to get better actually because I've I found a love of hand luggage and not having to wait bags at the other end um I what do I take on the plane I always take earplugs and a face mask eye mask it's a complete game changer earplugs are a game changer for me um I can sort of I could take or leave the eye mask but the earplugs are really important um I think what do I always take I tell you what I'm really attached to when I travel are my toiletries like I want to have my you know I love my sort of like products for the evening and the morning um but clothes wise I have learned I mean I need three pairs of shorts four bikinis three vests one shirt and a dress you know it's like I can pack really light now but I never used to be able to I used to take we called it the coffin my suitcase it was just huge mine is still I can't do it I try and try and try but it's not possible and on your face products and things like that do you which what do you take and what are your products that you use all the time because you look so amazing I'm sure that everybody watching not necessarily the listeners but the people watching on YouTube will go I want what she's having lighting um there okay so what do I take so there are two brands that I love well there's three but two of them I try and do as naturally as I can but I'm not going to lie my face I you know I'll do whatever it takes um so the Orveda is an amazing brand I think I think the owner mate was Shiseido she made Shiseido was part of Shiseido anyway she moved into this um clean face products and Orveda is incredible and the other one that has it does brilliant sunscreen too is Annie De Mamiel yeah she's great I mean that blew my mind that that whole range and then Dior do amazing skincare so they have a really amazing night mineral balm which is a night cream which is um you know if you have had too much sun or you've been in the sea a lot and you just feel that like crackly skin then it's just like you can feel it just sucking in and it's great and do you take electrolytes and things like that when you're traveling I'm sure you do I do I think sachets are really good things to take so I take ancient embrace sachets of electrolytes I also take their collagen MCT or medium chain triglyceride oil um I love the IM8 um which is it's a David it's the David Beckham one but it is really good that they're sachets um and then there's one called Novos which I take those sachets and I'll probably take some protein powder with me because that for me is a really good way of filling a gap if you're going if you're going to the airport early whatever it is if you know it's a it's a good way of getting some nutrition instead of just having a croissant or something like that actually we're like six in the morning at the airport cheese croissants why do people put cheese in croissants i still do i know i don't understand that at airports they have my kids love them i don't get it or nutella in double whammy it's like wow yeah so that's sort of what i take with me what is your most poignant travel memory well this is what I was texting my dad about earlier because I couldn't remember where it was I think because my dad moved far away when we were quite little you know 11 12 it's quite little there we used to go there and he and he suddenly had three kids like jumping around all over the place and anyway we he took us these little beach huts in Malaysia and they were literally beach hubs beach with corrugated iron roofs um and it was near chariating on the east coast of malaysia and i just i think probably because we were so we were you know teenagers 11 to 15 i think he was there or 16 um it was just me and my two my twin brother my older brother and i don't know it was just quite a quite a little insular experience just four of us it was nice I just really does that still exist I don't think it does because we did have a look for it because I was going oh you can go here to my with my kids and my husband um but it doesn't exist what a shame but it is it's lovely that simple I remember when I first went to Thailand and I can't remember which beach it was but we stayed in huts like that I think it was called pop cottage so it wasn't a cottage at all it was a beach hut yeah and it cost 10 pounds a night it was so fantastic and we used to just walk down to the beach and have fresh fish and then go back to this hut but do these places exist anymore and if they do please write in and tell us because we want to know I'd love to know yeah no it's really yeah I'm totally up for a beach hut so how old are your kids um 18 19 and 25 so do you still travel with them oh god yeah they they they will come if it's up to scratch they will come yes where is it mommy that we're going to exactly they check the itinerary before um so yeah they do still come um there it's a bit difficult date wise this year was challenging i was like guys you know we're going to go to just outside marseille this year um and i was trying to get the dates from them they were like well i can do this i can't do that i was like oh my god yeah when they're working as well or uni uni's probably easier but when they're working it's a little bit more difficult yeah but it's so fine my son is 22 and people say does he still come on holiday with you and I said are you joking of course he does why wouldn't he go to the column door in the south of France and to the Maldives and wherever I mean he is a bit like where are we going before he makes his decision it's so funny actually because I travel quite a lot for work so I'm doing a talking the Maldives I'm doing a fire at the Fari Health Festival in at the Ritz-Carlton in the Maldives oh what's the fiery health festival I'm doing it at Bramford actually how are you yeah do they have something at this yeah so they they have their spa there and we're going to do a health festival in September I'm going to do I'm going to contribute to this health festival in September which is the rainy season but when you look at the when you look at it you're like I don't care and it only rains for an hour a day or something so who cares so what will happen at this festival that sounds amazing well they've got lots of different things happening I think um I'm doing some talks and some juices hosting a lunch and then there there are djs there's sound healing there's exercise there's dance yeah how many days is it we are going well when i see this is the the issue with my daughter when i say we i don't mean me and my eldest who is usually my plus one me and my husband stepped in and said yeah i'm coming on that um it's so it's yeah eight days oh lovely i think the festival itself is four but we're going to stay a few more lovely and rainy season on I went to the Maldives in June again they said it was rainy and it was literally an hour a day was terrible you could not go out but apart from that it was absolutely wonderful and the prices are half that they are a Christmas which is you know obviously their top season so yeah yeah so I'm excited I think I might be signing up for that as well I don't know if Carol's coming but if she is we could all go so I asked you to bring a photograph can you show us the photograph or tell us about the photograph and how that sums up travel for you well there's that again there's so many because do you take lots of photos i take so many photos that i tell you actually where i didn't mention which i should mention is the one of the best holidays we ever or best trips actually was when we went traveling around rogerstan with the kids and they were kids and they were young at the time and it just i really believe that traveling it otherwise yeah it was really great to travel with them at that time and we we spent three weeks on the trains all over i just done it did you go to all the palaces and then and the tour guide they see i like to be quite autonomous i don't want to be on a you know on someone else's timetable and the the the travel agent was like you're mad you can't go on the train we get your drivers everywhere i said no i don't want that i want to just be able to get on a train chill out and we did and it was amazing it was so great um and so when i was thinking about photos there's lots of photos of that oh please yes give us those photos that sounds amazing it was amazing just and just seeing the kids in a really it was great so we did three weeks there and then we did a week at elsewhere do you know elsewhere in goa is that lovely it's like in the dunes it's a really special place elsewhere that's a good one lovely well no do please send us those photographs it's lovely to see little people next to these huge palaces and things looking in awe thinking they're amazing and you said there was another photograph of a boat yeah so there's a photograph it's a literally an upside down birth top with the with a motor on it you know it's like there's little boats in the mediterranean so when we because we have been to dare a lot on our travel on our holidays um and just watching and there's a picture of one of the kids driving the boat and it's just this blue blue blue sea and this little person who thinks they're really grown up driving but and it was it's just kind of the simplicity of it i suppose just that's all you need is really nice to see and actually that does sum up travel beautifully doesn't it it does for me simple family simple yeah beautiful yeah so before i let you go what's next for you where are you going next but also what's next for rosemary ferguson so well next stop we just got back from rome which is very nice rome's great rome is lovely i did not know rome i've been there once before a long time ago but I loved it I thought it was great um so next stop is the family holiday um Marseille is calling and then um and then the Maldives in September yeah there's quite a lot of travel it's quite nice also because Jake and I now don't have children at home so it's sort of like we can go whenever we want I think that's where that's why I keep talking about cars because I think both me myself and him would be very happy getting in a car and just driving you know see what happens but then on the work front work is very busy and talking of books I am in the middle of writing a book oh another one which what's it tell us this is The Reset and it won't be out till next September but the book world is a crazy world where you have to get this stuff done so next September not this September 2026 yeah so but the deadline is not far away and have you written it yet I've started I can safely say I've started which is the truth but I couldn't say a few weeks ago um so that's quite a big project um and our health club is an ongoing you know um platform needs a lot of love um and also I'm working on menus for some hotels and things so there's loads of things going on and then obviously my consulting with Dior which is great for their wellness retreats and what do Dior do on the wellness front well it's quite I mean they're actually an amazing team I have to say because when we started talking about this idea of them taking on a functional medicine practitioner as a consultant because their beauty is so strong in makeup and you know it didn't we were trying to work out where and how but the bottom line is they really want to do it right and they want to they want to have an expert on board to guide them um so that's really where it is there's a lot of conversation about you know and they they have these wellness retreats in hotels um and so that was really where i was brought in to help with those protocols but it's also just understanding how how you help your appearance from the inside i guess that's where i fit in that picture i didn't even know they had wellness retreats yeah so are they pop-ups or are they wherever they have a deal spa they'll do something like that they have wherever when they have deal deal spas exactly so they have the skincare they have all the treatments and then they wanted things like how to support it how to support that yeah with um what they have on the menu if they have teas if they have I don't you know juices so and what do you do on hotel menu side so yeah so I'm working with a hotel group with that I've worked with and done consultations in their hotels before so now we're going to just try and put it together a really solid menu which is challenging to put together a menu that serves me and serves people who are traveling and want to have a nice time so it's not like you know can't be too dry basically and like kale chips and yeah um so yeah so that sounds very exciting in fact my friend joe malone's doing something similar but on scent so she did i think it was raffles in singapore where she did a afternoon tea um and helped create the menu food but scent wise as well so it was healthy food i can't remember who she worked with on that but she did all the scents and things so I think hotels are definitely going into that sort of deeper dive experience storytelling but things that work well for you I do think I mean I think when people travel they do like I said you know like we said that I think people do want something different now and yeah of course there are those nights when you know it's like you want to have a you know a celebration you know you're having a birthday party or something but I think I think the offering is not there quite there yet and it should be because I know when I get off a plane I want I want if I'm tired I just want to look at the menu I want to know that it's not got any crap in it um you know and then there are nights when you get anyone a bag burger and chips but I I think I must say if I do have room service which I don't usually because I'm usually going from one meeting to another to another I actually get there early before I have anything I look at the menu and I always think I'll be healthy and I think no I'm going for a burger and chips but it doesn't have to be unhealthy anyway it's not And actually it's quite a lot.
55We don't have to have too many chips. Exactly. Burgers actually aren't that bad. I mean, you know, most burgers are quite good. You know, you can get really good quality meat. So, yeah. Well, it has been a joy and a delight to go around the world with you. I feel healthier just looking at you. And I am now signing up for every single thing from your retreats to your online platform and your health club. It has been wonderful to meet you. Thank you so much, Rose. Oh, it's been lovely to meet you too. Thank you for having me. Thank you. Thank you.
