0:28You've never given audition. I thought, why are you doing such things? I'm just signing so much. Two films, man. Good, good, good. The entire film was ruined. This room was finished at the beginning. Shah Rukh Khan. Over the years, again and again, decades, it just keeps rising. Yeah. What is the difference? You see, today, there's a whole new Shah Rukh Khan that has come out. You had a lover boy, and today you have an action hero. Now, this requires intelligence. End of the day, no matter what you do, you are a product that you're selling. And how well you sell yourself is what's required. He's a wonderful person.

1:06He's polite. I met him just now. I did a little work for King. I told him, I said, you spoiled me. Now I'm going to compare every human being to you. Do you remember anything about your mother? She had kidney failure. So she was on dialysis. And the doctor said, you should not drink water. And the night she was asking me for water, water, water. And I said, no, the doctor said, you don't drink water. And she passed away that night.

1:30But what changes? After my dad passed away, I barely cried. I cried a good one month later. Till then, I was just trying to be a man. Do you love yourself? No, I don't. You know, when your feelings are bad, you feel bad.

3:21How were you as a child? Childhood As bad as I am today What kind of childhood I was See my childhood I tell you honestly What I remember most Is boarding school Because I told you I didn't tell you I didn't break the law You know I didn't do the wrong work I was one of those Like you know Bunking Bunking None of those I don't want I don't need I should stay But nuisance never created it as a kid? No, I don't even know. I think it's that you are brought up in a particular way, you grow up that way, end of the day. Like I personally, when I keep, like my colleagues, when they do, prank, prank. I don't have to be a prank.

4:08I don't have to be a prank. I don't have to be a prank. Because for me, I am harming somebody else for my little entertainment. I don't have to be a little. I cannot do that. I cannot trouble you for a bit of a laugh. Why? Where does this come from? I think it's sensibility. But I don't like it. I don't like that humor that you have to do. Because you're only giving people to the face. You're giving them a bit of a laugh. So, that doesn't look like it. If you have a little bully nature that you don't like it. No, I've never bullied anybody. Have you gotten bullied? Yeah. Obviously, I'm born in school.

4:41What happened? There was once I beat up a guy very badly. You didn't? I didn't. Why? He was a guy from a foreign student. I think one of the Gulf areas. And he was a bit rich father. Indians are idiots. Or we are too superior, you're too inferior. That was his zone. Where did I come from? And he had a smoking issue. That's why he was there. He was a young kid. and he was started harassing me he started bullying me everybody was bigger than me I was a small boy bullying and harassing what was doing just generally you know that you're just standing like that you're no no no keep harassing me keep harassing me and it went on and on I didn't complain because you can't complain about all these things so I was in the we were the last two to go down you know for assembly and I was quickly washing my hands or doing something and it was coming and I was killed and I felt like that he was killed so many times after he was killed and he was killed and I was killed and in the little Hindi film I was killed and asbestos sheets in our bathroom asbestos sheets I was killed and I was killed It's very cute.

6:14After that, we came down to the assembly. And I was like, I'm going to get angry. And I was standing in the back of the shirt. I was looking for a little bit. My head was looking for something. Now that girl, she didn't want to say that she was a cute. She was a big boy. She gave me a cute. She saw that something was bad. And I was looking very upset. He called both of us. Come here. What happened? So he said, Varshi beat me up in the bathroom. And I could have died. And he did this, he did that. Okay. Go. Varshi, come here. Stay here. He said, Did you beat him? Yes, sir. Okay. Don't do it next time.

7:06He knew that kid. He didn't say that. He didn't say that. See, this is what I loved about boarding school. You know, I had a dog, but he never shouted at me at all. Because somewhere down the line, he said, The truth is what I wanted to do, you did the truth. It doesn't matter. Anyone will be afraid. Never. I'll call my sir once again. Like, you know what, Mr. Varshi, your children should learn martial arts. My dad said, they don't need it. They will give you this. I said, hello, this is my father. He's not going to be able to. Was he a tough father? No, no, no. How did he discipline you? I'm telling you, he disciplined me, I think, by not disciplining me.

7:58When you put too many rules and regulations around somebody, that person always keeps on paying the law. My dad never, and I tell my kids very proudly, that I have never spoken to my father today. I have never spoken to my father. I have never spoken to my father. I have never spoken to my father. Because that fear that I have said something, he will be drunk and drink. That was not. So I have never lied. So when I smoked, I told my dad I smoked. He told me, he said, don't. He said, why would you do this? Then I started drinking. He found out. He asked me, he said, do you drink? I said, no, I have tried.

8:44He said, do you work with me, sit with me, sit with me, go out and go out and drink your money. But he said, he used to just tell me, he said, don't. You know what's good, you're not a stupid kid. I'm like that with my kids. I tell them, I said, you know what it is. You're not a kid, you're not a stupid, you know what it is. I think you have to do a lot of discipline. and we don't have to do it. And what do we do? What do we do? We like our children as long as they have no opinion. The moment they have a brain and an opinion, we start hating them. Because now they're not listening to you. And the reality is that you don't correct that.

9:20You don't try to show your power as a parent. I'm not listening to you. Maybe you're a bad person. I'm not listening to you. I don't think any parent would ever think like that. Maybe I'm a bad person. Maybe the kid is right. We don't think like that. We are there. Is it okay if you have a kid in your opinion? 100%. We do now. All kids think that parents are idiots. That's the truth. Absolutely. I think that should be like that. In the age and experience, there are a lot of difference. Just because you're old doesn't mean you're experienced. We often do wrong with that. Okay, this man is 50 years old.

9:57No, he's a idiot. He hasn't done anything in his life. What do you know? you have achieved 10 years of age, 20 years of age, this man has not achieved 70 years of age. How did he get into it? Just because he is old. No. You are old, you give him respect. Pair chose, that's not much. That's the reality. We always get out of it. I know so many guys, who are the assistant of all life, never become director. And I know so many guys, who are young, who have done something very first, He did something. And he didn't assist. And they are directors. And they are good. So it's got nothing to do with age.

10:34Age is just time matters. He doesn't have to take anything. Do you find yourself behaving like your father sometimes? Sort of. I think that that that easiness and that. That relaxed attitude. And that humor. I think that is my dad's. That is my dad's. He's he was like that. What did you love about him? which you imbibed knowingly or unknowingly? Having a drink every night?

11:09Oh boy. No, no, no. As I said, I think he was he was all right. He was there's not much. Unfortunately, I did not spend a lot of time with my parents. Because boarding. Yeah. I think when I went to boarding I was a lot of memory school and it was less with family. Do you remember anything about your mother? She was just a housewife. She was just a housewife who cooked good food and a mother. A quintessential mother. That's what's my mother. Yeah. Do you remember last time last time when you saw her? Oh, God. Last memory of her. Yeah, I have a last memory of her which is very it's a horrible memory actually.

11:52It's a horrible memory that haunts me all the time. So, before the night she passed away It was funny, she had kidney failure. So she was on dialysis. And we were told not to give her water. Doctor said, don't give water. And she would keep asking me for water. So I said, no, I can't give water. Then some other water. And the night she was calling me out. And I came and sat next to her. And she kept asking me for water. Water, water And I said No, the doctor said I don't give water And she passed away that night

12:35It killed me It killed me And I could I mean It's like I was thinking Should I give her Should I not give her But I think You know There's a small part of me That maybe consoles myself Or makes me feel better Okay If I give her water And then she passed away For the rest of my life I would think it's because I gave her the water. So somewhere there is always a silver lining. There's something I think God somewhere looks after you. Somewhere, in some way. He does. Now that you think back and both the sides you know. Both the sides you know. I think I should give it.

13:20Because you know, today the whole mindset is, I was a baby here. Really a kid. very small hours. I don't understand. What the doctor said, I just want to hear. You know, like today, my, like Maria's parents, so they are old. And I probably say, no, we don't need to keep the hospital. Like I know, okay, how many years will it be? You know, but I would say that to myself. I would say, how many years will it be? No, I won't be able to keep the hospital. I will die one year early, but I'll be with my family at home, having a great time enjoying eating what I want doing what I want I'll die 2 years before I'll die what's the difference but you think family members won't think like that we don't think about the disease we don't think about the disease we think about the guilt the problem is that's where it's a because we are at the moment not thinking of that person we are thinking if I have done this then what will people say?

14:19what will I say? but we are more worried about everybody else that the father was a child took the hospital to the house why did you bring it to the house that is actually a very big thought but for understanding you have to kill society developed personality you think you are that strong I think I am you won't be in a guilt

15:22No, I don't need to. You grow up in a sense I don't know See I was I was Way more mature than my age Even when I was very young Because We had lost a lot of Money and all that My father lost a lot of money So time was getting back to us Back to us Back to us Just going down the hill It was not over Where will we go down How much will we go down So it was like

15:56Then father not doing well Then he passing Then mother getting sick And now we need more money To look after So it was crazy So I kind of grew up beforehand Looking after her So maturity level It was reached until the majority So after her passing away It's so funny That I actually After My mom passed away After my dad passed away I barely cried After my mom passed I didn't cry I cried a good One week One month later I actually cried For everybody One day It's like that time It hit me Till then I was just Trying to be a Just trying to be a man Just trying to be Sorting things out And I was suddenly Figured already What's happening There's absolutely Nothing in life There's zero You know What do we do So it was all that A lot of It was a different time completely different times.

16:53Explain, you said trying to be a man for that one month. What were you trying to do? Trying to be brave. Men don't cry. You know, I can handle it. All that. It will happen. But it doesn't happen. Your body gives up. It gives up. In many work too hard. Your body will hold you, hold you, hold you till that time. I know, like I have to do for three hours a day at night. I have told my mind, my mind is there. It will keep there. Three hours a day You will not tell me one minute. It's that. You hold on, hold on, hold on. Until it's done, then I said, that's it. Then you break. And then, yeah. It's the wrong thing that we've learnt, at least in my time, that men don't cry.

17:37So that aspect. But yeah, that was the time one had to go through. It was a tough time one had to go through. It was horrible, yeah. What was the toughest thing? You know, I was... I was doing plays, I was choreographed plays. Okay, and musicals I used to do with my Alec Padham, and all this. And it was a lot of income. You get 175 rupees per show. You show on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. So you get 500, 500, 500. You get paid. So you're barely making a few hundred bucks a week. I had to take my mother for dialysis, which was once a week. That dialysis cost was 800 rupees. So you're just scraping through It was so tough, so tough And then So suddenly one show would come So then I would have some saving You know Then I would do some performance And then I would get some saving So one was managing really It was a tough time, very tough Nobody had a job My brother didn't have a job My sister, one sister Younger sister was there So it wasn't It was a bit tough and there was no source of income nothing was happening that we will do this or it is not that we will sell this property and we will invest something here there is nothing to sell anything so you are just wondering where will we go from here but I think as I said in a manifestation I knew that I have to get money I knew and there was one thing very smart I did I think everybody should do that.

19:19I think maybe subconsciously we all do that. I don't know what to do in life. Which is I think 90 % people's problem. What to do in life is I don't know. I thought what to do is I don't know. What to do is I can make a list. And in my list there was one thing. I can't do a 9 to 5 job. I can't do it. Why? It's nature. I can't sit in one place for a long time. I can't just. I can't do something which is not going anywhere. I cannot do that I will not do that so I thought that I cannot do this what is it for me then I tried everything photography, whatever, whatever dancing, whatever came my way I just kept doing, kept doing, kept doing which is a smart thing to do and money was more difficult part that money was not being made that psychological safety if I didn't do it, I didn't have my father I mean I would go and go and go I know but that is a fact I know that.

20:16I don't have to repeat that to myself. There is nothing. But how immediate response is now. I have to take over dialysis. That money I need. We need some money to survive. How do we do this? How do we do this? That's the story of the future. That's the problem. So it was that. And when you, mom, dad, both passed away and one month later, half a month later. After that, that loneliness alone. I think Maria was there. Maria came into my life. She was a strong girl. But I see, I think staying alone, I think somewhere, I think life and God teaches you everything. So, boarding school staying alone is a factor.

21:10I could live alone. I can't be alone, I'm telling you, nothing is happening. I will not crave for company, like I need people around me and all that. No, I can be all by myself and very happy. Does not matter to me. Does not matter that I don't mean that I don't want anybody around me. Yes, you like people. But sometimes, like this time, I was okay. I think that I was learning in the body. I will continue to study joint family. So, 10-12 people, Saturday, Sunday, 25 people. And till I was, till I turned 24, I was with them. Recently I moved here and started living in. And it bothers me. Like I don't stay alone.

22:01No, no, I get it. I hate it. I mean, there have been times when I'm doing dinner alone. and just that I feel so lonely that I can phone someone mom or dad they don't know that I'm feeling lonely I get it I'll tell you it's amazing but it's in your life now my life now it's come so this happened to be post marriage and kids so after staying alone alone alone Maria coming into my life Maria was like a solid now she's also I mean, you're playing a whole band. And then we were together. Okay? That's why we became a family. Then suddenly, it's a family. Okay? It's a team. Now I can't live without them.

22:48Now I can't go anywhere. So I have 15 days. That's why I need to see them. If anything, I'll fly back. I'll meet them, give them a hug, and I'll go back. But I can't get them without them. You get it? So now I've reached that stage. and this is after so many years like my kid is like 20 now out of the 18 they're like big so many years now that's that what I used to have as a kid is happening to me now after I am having my kids they are the same age but I would the line that you said that I can live alone I have some level of insight very small I envy those people I get jealous I get jealous that how to live alone how do you teach me but don't It's not a quality.

23:36But sometimes good because you are going through so many things every time every time you can't stay with yourself. And at that time you should be focusing on what you are doing or you don't have to do it. Don't think that I am alone. No, people are alone because it's out of choice it's out of necessity. Either you're at a job that requires that you have to stay alone or you don't have anybody so you're alone. Like I had nobody. So, that's it. So, I think it's not a privilege. It's a negative aspect of life. It's not a positive aspect of life. You must have people around you. You must have human connection.

24:16You must have that conversation. That's very important. So, I told them that I said all this messaging, I find it a little weird. I said, go out and meet them personally. Go sit on a cafe. Have a drink. Have coffee. Eat. Chat personally. Look at each other's faces. I said that is what it is hug people those are things you got to have that you should not glamorize it at all it's not a great thing you make it sound like it's out of compulsion it's not a great thing which is good which I agree to but just before you I was speaking to Lakshay and he says that he loves it he's learned to live alone he doesn't even know because he's a young boy he must be having girls coming to his house

25:25but I think like I was a poor chap I think Right now I'll tell you the other aspect When you're very busy He's busy working And his career just started So for that It's perfectly fine Because he doesn't have That time alone at home He's running here Running there And in the set You're with 200-200 people So you don't have to see anyone That I don't have to I don't have to Which I feel today also When I spend my entire day On the set Being nice to everybody chatting with everybody hello so many people then I have a killer nobody knows I don't want anybody around that's another fact but say for example if I'm not shooting 2-4 then I'm thinking what's happening what's happening that's it happens but for a meet him I'll tell him I'll say please do not get into the space of enjoying your you know being alone because alone from lonely it's not good it's often said that children are very young age their parents they are looking at the lifetime they are looking at the stability they are looking at the stability they are doing the work I want that stability so they keep running towards probably money they keep running towards certain things do you feel at some point you still chase that stability I want that stability for my family definitely.

27:01And yes, I don't chase money, but I would advise everybody to love money. Because all the things that money doesn't give you happiness, all bullshit it is. I was telling my son this morning only, he put on a little weight, so I was telling him, I said, you better get your act together. Because I said, you should, I said, when you're out, I said you should be able to walk into any shop and buy anything you want without a second thought as much as you want I said that is good I said when you have to walk in and think should I afford this, I can't afford this I said that's not good I said you should have the freedom to do whatever you want but you were trying to man up in that time I grew up manly, brave enough I can survive, I can do this I got this Do you still find that That you get to prove that child That I can survive We all are like that We all try to prove to ourselves That I can handle everything And the truth is We all cannot handle everything That is the reality But we all try to say I can handle everything And it's the same thing with me I say to myself all the day And every day I can handle everything I can't I can't But I have to say that to myself And I must say that to myself Because if I don't then I will crumble.

28:26I need to get up in the morning and say, okay, done. Yeah, it will happen. It will happen. No problem. Everything will happen. Everything you can handle. Everything is possible. You have to do that. Something that you have just said. Very true. So, in the majority of people's life, there are five stages for psychological development. And the majority of people don't achieve anything in life because they are in the third stage. And third stage is society. that society according how to live in that stage people stop the four stages that I don't live in society according to my internal values and then the fifth stage is where you start challenging your internal values as well that I learn other people's values I will learn and then I will transform themselves and somewhere down the line I think the new generation is already level-sized they really don't care about the society they live their lives I think so look at them they are not getting jobs because they don't care.

29:28Jain T is nobody wants to hire. I feel I think opposite. I think more people think more about other people. Now. Oh yes of course. No no. That's like the validation from other people. Yes. The caring is not there. I don't care about you. I don't care about you. But I care about what he thinks. I care about what I am looking good. it's a very weird scenario society society society society society society society so that is your because in in your time you cared about where you belong so maximum people in your life what you're doing in my society we belong to social media so we have a difference that what do you care about online in this world.

30:20What do you care about this? The reality is that I'm not thinking about it. I don't have any meaning. No meaning. That's what I'm saying. It's not a good place. It's not a good thing. I personally feel it's not a good thing. But yeah, the world is changing. It's a different world. And it's a bolder world. And one has to live with it. I think we are also, who don't live fearlessly. We also live scared. That I'm not going to write a story today, so I'm not going to write that story that I'm going to write that story that's not the right thing. will this get me the money, will this get me the right eyeballs I think we are dead, but when we talk about technology we don't think about it let's make something let's make a machine that makes you believe that a person is standing in front of you we go beyond when we think of technology but when it comes to imagination and for storytelling and all that we don't want to try it also why not?

31:14it's a factor that money will get lost you know you're worried till somebody else does it like when you talk about movies you have south who invent it try anything they go ahead then do it you know Hollywood does it they do we do Hindi film but they're scared they're scared so much that's why the money will be reduced that's why that's why they'll be cancelled what will be cancelled every person has a little bit cancel culture has a big deal if you do anything you can write more offensive someone will be offended will be scared for that. No, but you can still work around it. You don't, you just have to just cut politics and religion out and you're fine.

31:54And again, you can't make, you don't want to be happy. So, that's the fear of that. Today, you have to keep a little more. Seven-khan, you have to take these two things, you probably have to take them away, and the rest is fine. Like, as before, you would joke about anything and everything, people would take it. It's fun, it's joke, it's a movie. Now, everyone in it. movie se lessons chahiye movie societically writer that you said we will not study in school what will we study in 3 hours would you care if if I am thinking of a movie which offended a lot of people my movies they are terrible people loved people loved which movie offends you tell me which movie we heard.

32:41Galant jawab. Galant jawab. I don't want to say all these things, but yeah, I've done many films that I'm not very proud of. Tell me one. One very famous film that is there, which we have spoken about many a time, is a film called Jani Dushman. But Usman, I liked it. Yeah, very good for you. I was trying to be nice. You can't. Look, it's like a joke. In that way, we're not. Like very well. I like sometimes senseless movies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It had a, see, I'll tell you what's the wonderful. Very south-level. Very, no, no. Koli is Armand Kroos' father, Rajmant Koli. He is one of the nicest person in the industry.

33:37I'm not kidding. It's so funny. it's like when he calls you for a film most actors will say yes purely because of the kind of a person he is I was new so I didn't know but I needed the money it's like we were making a house and we went and said we were not even talking about money it's another story now we had no money to make it so try to collect money from wherever we can so So, my house was the terrace that is thank you to Jani Dishman. In that one, thank you to Jani Dishman. But he was somebody that I was told that you cannot, he's a nice man. And I realized that. So, whatever the film might be, whatever the sensibility of the film, whatever.

34:24But I was happy that I met this person who was so different from a film industry person. Never had a problem, ever had to ask him about payment. it always came on time before time if he told you that you at 1 o 'clock or I'll leave you at 2 o 'clock then you'll leave at 2 o 'clock your payment is here you don't have to phone at least there it gets so these are things which are very rare and I think this is the reason that all actors feel like Sanjeev Kumar and everybody has done a film with him every actor has done a film with him and they've all admired him when he told me ask me to do it my request was I said sir first of all I'll kill you

35:15quickly no no I'll kill you after two I'll kill you no no no no

35:28and on the other you had Akshay who was not willing to die only he would come back Sir, I can't do this too. So, that was different experience. I was so excited that Arman was thinking about costume costume.

35:48And he was thinking about his production. He had to be nice to everybody. And the actor came and he had to do it. And then, when he was thinking about Arman's shot, I came. and Kholi Swami said you have come in time Arman's shot is sitting in the morning it sounded so funny sitting in the morning

36:21and do you remember what you were talking about do you used to talk about some story No, I know one thing my dad, they used to all be worried that I would do what I would do in my life. Why? Because I didn't do anything. I was almost 25 years old. I was doing nothing. I was going to a nightclub and dance and party. I didn't do anything. There was no proper focus of life. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know anything so I didn't know what to do. But my dad was very confident of me, always. He kept saying, he would tell me, I didn't know if my mom would say or anybody would say, he said, don't do it with him, he will do anything, I know.

36:59He was sure about me. Dad was confident. Confident. He never ever for once thought that what will happen in life. He was sure. Why are we like this? Maybe the way I was, maybe, I think, it's like when I got my first movie, that was like me, in the way. Joy just thought that this guy can do it. He had no idea I could act. I had never acted before. Nobody has seen me acting But It's just the way I was Random The way my behavior was He felt I could do it So my dad always knew Sometimes it happens You meet some people That you look at them And you say This guy will be fine Because you know That there's something About that person There's a spark There's a little something That is there You know we all have it And we all don't have it Some have it Some don't And we know that person Somehow If you are keen enough To see it You get to see it And with your kids are you confident that we will do something that you will tell what will happen to your brother?

38:00you have talent and there is a big factor called luck which is there which you cannot ignore and that happens they might equip themselves with all kinds of you know education or they learn something skill or whatever but I hope they have enough of luck that cannot be taught or cannot be bought. I just hope they have that. And that's my fear. Because there are many people who have tremendous talent, but they lack that luck care. And there are people who have lost their life. That I feel, I hope they have that. Do they feel pressure in your way? That Papa has become successful, they have made it from zero.

38:44See, there's a silver lining here, it's a good and a bad throw and con thing. I'm successful. but I'm not that successful that they can't beat me. You get it? So they are in a good place. Hrithik's kid has a problem. Shahrukh's kid has a problem. My kid doesn't have that problem. I'm a good actor. They just need to be a good actor. If they can act as well as me, but you know, to be bigger than me is not very difficult. To be as good as me, that might be a problem. And discipline is very important in the profession. Very important. a good nature discipline humility humility to an extent that even if you fake it let's be honest 90 % would fake it it's okay fake it if you have to why would people fake it?

39:36why wouldn't they fake it? and who nobody's nobody's so good nobody in the world is very very good we all have a little dark side but I'm saying some people I don't know I think

39:56You can't be so nice all the time. It's not possible. I don't trust a person who's very, very nice. If I agree every thing, then something happens somewhere. I can't say everything right. It's not possible. And if you think everything wrong, then there's a problem. I don't know. There's nothing wrong there. Right? If I say that it's very warm here. Yeah, it's pretty hot. I said, dude. Not love. It's not the joke. So, then I know there's something not right. You're just being very nice and polite. But there are people. Like, I find it difficult. Some people are all sweet. All time is nice. I think it's like this.

40:39But I think it's fake. Fake. No, it's possible to be good. possibility to be good. I think I'm a very nice person. I really think and I believe that I'm a nice person because but I also will tell you that you're an idiot. You get it. I'm not going to constantly say about because I'm a nice person doesn't mean you have to like everything. Okay. That's the that's not the connection. I am nice but I also have an opinion. I also have a mind. But if I have no opinion and no mind and I find everything nice how good it is. How good it is. How good it is. You are crazy. You can't do anything wrong with your family.

41:16It won't be like that. As I tell you, one of my first experiences, these are things no actor will ever tell you. Like I'd done an interview and I was asked questions. This was my first interview. And I was asked questions that were absolutely irrelevant to my job or anything. And I was wondering why. and with my honest answers okay I was termed as a very bad kid so it was very weird so I was sitting on an interview and I was asked how much money do you have in your pocket so I said okay I said I don't know I did not count it but it will be maybe it will be maybe it will be I said I'm coming all the way to town I'm coming in the car I'm coming in the car I'm going to need petrol you know so it will be enough my co-star how much money do you have I don't have any money in my hand my mother handles my money good boy if I give you one lakh what would you do I said I call my friends I'll have a party we'll have a great time what would you do I don't know how to handle money I'll give it to my mother she will take care of it good boy I said what's happening here I'm saying truth and I'm the bad guy.

42:40He's a good boy. But see, that's hypocrisy. I say, this is bullshit. But then, I'm not going to change myself for that. I'm not going to do that. I find myself that's a good person. So for me, if I was the person taking the interview, this guy would have been an honest, good, straight person. That guy would have been hypocrite. But it's not like that. So we put up that act of I hear grown ups today saying the same thing my mother takes care of her money you f***ing asshole grow up and leave her alone to enjoy her life and you take care of the money you idiot what is wrong with you how can you talk like that this is bullshit if I were you I would do the same thing what if I interview you what you reaction you were honest yeah what are you doing this is what you meant by fake humility.

43:38This is a joke. Pure blatant lie. And that's an act. But do you believe that you're saying the truth in the truth and do you believe that maybe you think? I don't think. End of story. I don't need to do proof or analyze my sensibly tells me you're a fucking liar. My sensibly tells me dude, you're a fucking liar. You don't know anything about money. You don't give me money in the pocket. What are you talking about?

44:13Fair. Fair. But 1 % if it's right, why do you and I… I think that guy needs to grow up. If he's right, then I advise, brother, why are you giving me a problem? You're so rich. You have to pay your money. Give them a little. Let them live their life. Leave them alone. Take care of them. Why is she taking care of you? you should be taking care of them isn't that right 100 % so either way the person is wrong you are the same fair fair that's it makes up many have done I don't have any job no movie nothing I still film no problem I never had worked for the longest time I'm probably the only outsider who was out of freaking industry for almost 3 years 4 years and still came back nobody has done no outsider has ever gone out of the industry for so many years they ever come back Star kids come back Outsiders will never come back

45:17So it doesn't work So it's difficult You have to prove yourself I was lucky enough I got a nice movie that You know Got me back But It doesn't happen to everyone How many actors When I came to so we were 14 people launched. There is nobody around. Nobody. Except for Jamie Shergill, there is nobody around. Jamie is the only actor who was the same time just as he had matches. I didn't do that in all of you. We were all in one time. I am Jimmy and I am. And there is no one else. What's up? You are all. You used to write letters to yourself. Oh, you really? Oh, bloody hell. so that is what just happened was mine as i said my parents were the old school parents they were a little bit shy and they were sitting in their children so what did the kids do in school they didn't have much to take them from the school that the police gave them in school the teacher said now you understand

46:25so many a time they were talking about the kids and my parents didn't even know and boarding school you have to send a letter if you go and pick up your children pick up not doing it then the child is coming from the train so then you send a letter to him let him go he will come on his own that didn't happen so I thought I said I'm going to go so then I started sending a letter to myself I said I said I'm going to post it oh yeah let's go what else to do and door to door cosmetic selling before that but this is basically working for a company and I used to go to five star hotels which were little samples so give them get that contract go to pharmacies and sell them basically and it was just that it was a hard job where?

47:28Town, go in the morning, train from there, take a seat from there, then come to Warsaw, in the area, go there, go to the hotel, go to the hotel, go to the hotel, and get the contract, or not get the contract, working on commission, and then go all the way back to town, leave that, sign out, and there's nothing to get, the commission was working on, so it was very painful, and the product was so bad, and the boss was so bad, and I was so bad, and I was so bad, and I was like, what was that, it's a real stuff, it always smells you know because there's no chemicals added and and and and and and and when was the time when the fingers were oh that was all I did everything under the sun I was willing to do anything I was willing to do anything so before learning a little bit of photography also developing and printing So, in developing printing, there were very chemicals in it.

48:33So, that finger started rotting. I know, it's a regular, everybody's problem. Everybody who does that, it's a, it's a dirty job. When you have nothing better to do in life, you do that job. And literally, I used to carry one, what do you call, little roti shorti from home, literally. In the film, it was a small shop in my lap. I went there and I had to buy a little bit of vegetables and vegetables and have it. And I had to go to this place. I was sitting in the middle of the house. I said, what's happening? And I think that is, all said and done, this is what got me where I am today. You know, not waiting for great things to happen to you.

49:16Doing anything that comes to you, great things will be on the way in the line. It's like, you know, So, I don't have to do five things. It's the only thing that's a good job. But you have to go to this five things. If you don't cross it, you will not reach there. You know, it's like this is my route. I have to go there. You have to cross this road with the stairs. You have to cross this road. If you don't cross this, you don't have to cross it. Simple. So, believe in this. I mean, it's not that I thought like that. But I just knew that if I want to get somewhere, I have to get moving. But do you have trouble in asking, for something?

49:51Work? Yes, I do. Asking for work or asking for what? Asking for help, asking for work, asking for... I do. Why? I don't know.

50:04You know, it's a very, very funny, weird answer I'm going to give you, I think. It's not about... I don't have so much issue of asking for help, work or help. More than that, who I'm asking for? Who I'm asking? If that person is a wonderful human being, I can ask him. If that person is not a nice person, I know that there are 10 different reasons for asking me. I have been working in my entire life, even that entire time I was not working in the movies, never asked anything for a job. Never. But I'll tell you, because I'll tell you, what used to happen? So when I came and I was doing well, and everybody was, I could act, I could dance I was presentable looking And I was entertaining people Everything was what I wanted to do And I had lots of movies And then I used to enter a party And there would be like everybody around me And then suddenly movies died And all work was going down After that I would enter a party and people would just run away Okay I didn't ask anyone But they would tell other people I don't want to work I don't want to work So when I don't want to ask And you're saying this What will happen to me?

51:25So you understand It's not about asking or not asking Who are you asking is what's important So there's a hidden cost In the brain You're not okay to open up very easily No I'm not You're not very vulnerable with people You learn to not ask there are many many aspects of my life nobody will ever know so there is this thing that Raj should ask how much

51:54do you struggle with vulnerability yeah we all are see I am telling you I am not a super human I am not a super man we all I am not I have my weaknesses I have all those things everything that is that is there that people a person has and we pretend to be strong and we do. I think we all have. I have my issues. I have lots of them. I break. All that. Everything that is there. I'm vulnerable. I get, I'm scared of getting used. I'm scared of people, what do you call, misinterpreting me. I'm scared of many things. I was doing fine. I was always, it was just a job that I was doing in my course of life.

52:43which I kept doing. I did choreography. I danced. I sold cosmetics. I did photography. I did whatever came my way. You know, I did everything. That's what it is. So there's nothing so much. Assistant director is also there. But people are talking wrong. They misunderstand you. Does this bother you? Of course, it bothers you. There are a lot of things. People say something. What bother you? And I'll tell you something. I personally don't have so much issues on myself. I'm not kidding. Just say, that I'm not wrong. I'm not wrong. That's why I'm wrong. That I'm wrong. That I'm wrong. That I'm wrong.

53:18That I'm wrong. That I'm wrong. My wife and my children. They should not look at me in a different way. Because of what ex-idiot has said. You understand? I don't want that. You don't want your parents to look at you in a different way. Because some idiot said some shit which he has no clue about. About you. Yeah. Because he has put a lot of doubt. Your mother says, Raj, can he? Did he? that's bad enough that's bad enough that is not good I don't really care what you think of me I absolutely don't care I don't care what you think of me but if you say if my and my people who love me who love me their life or their perception is changing my way you're doing damage then you're going to get me that hurts me don't do that don't do that it has happened with me you just said about that I have door to door I have been selling a lot I was selling a detergent and I went to a lot of shops it doesn't mean that I have door to door cut and say please I have to take this and I have to sell it and that goes to that extent in an article that my father had diabetes and he had no money in his house

54:43and I was like what is this and I was like and one day my dad like he broke up and he broke down and then he was like see this is what I'm talking about

54:59this is not me and I felt so bad that day that in someone's heart that's what I'm saying this is wrong has it happened with you? it's happening all the time Maria was clarifying to some journalists who came and asked the same thing she says no it was not like this he was never like this he was doing well he was fine he was a hardworking guy he danced he used to choreograph ads he was choreographing plays he was doing fashion shows and he said he did everything but

55:44I can't stop you from doing what you're doing. Just do it. But I'll tell you something. Thank you. Today, there are so many, really, I mean, I respect the good journalists. I don't respect, I have no great respect for journalists and all that. but there are some very nice who call up and ask like this was the incident where this person called up and checked Maria is this true about Arshad and she gave a proper response no this is the truth and he printed that it was good this is very nice do you feel misunderstood I feel I am not being understood only misunderstood I will come to the mouth No, no, no.

56:32I think I'm fine. I think I'm, it took, it took, I think people a bit of a time to understand me. But now, slowly, people understand. Like I'm enjoying and I like, I like people to be happy. I like a good working atmosphere. I like fun. I like people to be, you know, you work hard, party hard, that space, you know, party hard, when I say, I don't mean drink. I'm talking about the opportunity to be good. Don't be too serious about it You know In life Don't be It's all right But what do you think What's your misunderstanding About your Few people think I'm arrogant Or I'm aloof Or something like that But I just like to stay at home That's it I'm not as As I said I'm different So you create a perception That this man is like this I'm unfortunately not that.

57:28Okay? And that becomes a bit of a... I'm actually a very private person. Very private. I'm not kidding. Like, we were shooting too. I shoot in my room and sit in my room. I'll tell you. I don't do anything. And Akshay has to keep thinking, you're sitting in your room. But this is how I am. I have a huge problem in crowd with all famous people. I'm not kidding. It's really shocking, but this is what it is. I have a huge problem with crowd. What problem? I get kind of an anxiety. Like we were once at Uded Iskia's shooting in promotion. And we were in a mall. I was so weird that I started feeling a bit weird.

58:18And Vidya realized it. She just saw... I was getting very sweaty, nervous. She caught my hand, held my hand tight like that. And it caught me like that. And took me around. So, there are, I have my own. I don't go for too many parties. I don't go for interviews. Not because I don't like it. I don't know what to do there. And I'm so worried about, I think maybe it's because I have a sense of humor. I'm worried I might hurt somebody's feelings. I might crack a joke that somebody doesn't like it. or so I'm not comfortable in crowd let's put it that way I'm not comfortable I'm comfortable in my house I'm comfortable with people who know me very well but when I go to the gym what happens when I go to the gym it's a stupid thing I didn't do anything but it was a little bit of courage I felt like I'm not it's a thing it's just you just felt that the world is the oyster nothing will happen I mean, now it's done.

59:21Now I'm going to be very good. Now it will be. I have nothing to worry about. I have come. And the funny thing now, I'll tell you the weird part of this. During this time, when I was in this space, I was in the same place. It's a very interesting thing. Now I'm become an actor. People have been awarded me. You can't stop me. Now I'm just in the first class of life. I met Jituji. Mr. Jitendra. Met him at a party. And he very sweetly came to me and he said, Arshad, this is a very good actor. You work great. What do you dance? I don't know the quality. I don't know the camera. You have everything.

1:00:06And I was like, thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. This is going to be going on one day. I thought, what's going on? This is going on. This is going on. I tell you, industry is going on. One time I go, where someone asks you, that is the time that you have to that time is a time I'm thinking why are you doing such things now I'm saying I'm saying I'm signing so much I'm saying this is when it's over 25 years I said really you don't know what happens as I said I was not from the industry I signed so many films I said it will be over so many years I said why are you saying this I swear where two films were great, great, great, all the films were gone and I became so free.

1:00:55Then I remembered him. But I remembered what he said, you know, and I realized. But there was another thing that that was there that that was a small conversation, confidence. It was that I never gave up. You know what I mean? I never gave up. I thought that It's a little bit of a pause A little bump But it's going to go away So I never did rubbish In that time Which usually people end up doing Start doing BC grade films You know, I didn't do bad work I didn't do it And what kept you going? Multiple things One, yes, there was a belief The The belief part that yes I knew that I knew that I had the capability I knew I'm good at what I do the question is today I know tomorrow it'll take two days three days five days sooner or later people will realize that it's a work and I feel if you know your job you have nothing to worry you'll work all your life if you don't know your job and you're fooling people to believe that you know your job that will work a little after that the truth will come out and life will be difficult you said G2G told you that everything will happen in a day.

1:02:15There's one actor, Shah Rukh Khan. Over the years, again and again, decades, it just keeps rising. There's no, if one or two years up and down probably, but if you look at it in the five-year window, it's just more. What did he have different? What do you think? What is different in him where so many actors, superstars have come and gone and they've seen mega success. yeah multiple yes there is there is no replacement for talent okay if you look at the other guys you take you take Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan let's say they are not they are not as good looking as I don't know any other there are so many very good looking guys but they are extremely successful because they are very good at what they do what they have come for they know that very well alright Shah Rukh is the same thing.

1:03:11He knows his job very well. He is very good. You add to that an extremely intelligent mind. He knows how to sell himself. Okay. The other person who knows how to sell himself is John. He knows how to sell himself. You like my muscle, I will sell you the muscle. Okay. Shah Rukh sells you what you like. Bright, intelligent, knows his job. There is nothing to stop him. There is no reason. And it's not that every film of his has done well. No, it hasn't. No, it hasn't. But it's just that he knows how to rediscover himself. Amit Ji was doing films and then he stopped. He literally transformed himself.

1:03:54And there was a whole new Amitabh Bachchan that came out. Okay. Lal Bajshra, I don't know what it was. But it was a whole new Amitabh Bachchan that came out. You see today, there's a whole new Shah Rukh Khan that has come out. You had a lover boy And today you have an action hero Now this requires intelligence This is You know you have talent But you have to be smart You have to be smart End of the day, no matter what you do You are a product that you are selling And how well you sell yourself is what is required Some of us Can't sell ourselves that well Some of us have a lot of Pros and cons and maybe And maybe not, should I, shouldn't, ding, ding all that we have

1:05:08You got to be smart I told him, I said, you spoiled me. I like, now I'm going to compare every human being to you. I said, now this is horrible. Arjen called me to do bads of Bollywood. I didn't sit, I didn't even think it. I told Aauti, I said, my manager. I said, no, I said, whatever he wants, I'll do it. Whatever. Why? I like him. I like him because I like his father. I told him that. I said, I love you because I love your father. And I said, your father has given this industry so much of respect He's given my profession so much of respect I said, if anything he wants me to do, I'll do it I said, that much of, you've got to be that way So I told myself, do it, whatever you want And how is he?

1:05:53As the director Who? Aryan Aryan is I cannot say that he's like the best director in the world He's got a long way to go There's no doubt about that But yes, he is ferociously, he's like his father. Extremely hardworking, okay? Very focused, does not get tired. I don't know where they get their energy from. It is very painful. They really have immense amount of energy and mad love for what they do. And that's what gets him where he is. Arjen is a guy that you need to trust him. Trust him as a director. And me as an actor, I also try and find out I understand, I meet a director I spend time with him before doing a film I will chat with him So I understand his mind And then I know what he wants I know what he's looking for What kind of a director he'll make Blah blah blah Okay I didn't have that time He wanted me to do something Barely a day or two days job I said I'm done, I'm doing it Whatever you want me to do, I'll do it I said I don't need to listen to the story I don't need to listen to anything I'll tell you, I have to do it.

1:07:01It's a gangster role who bails out the hero every time. I said, done, I'll do it. No questions asked. Went for the shoot. I asked him a very simple question. I said, this boat is in which there are four black moans. And where are they coming from? He says, where will they come from Somalia? As I heard this small boat with four horses, I'm going to get into Somalia. I figured out how the director is. I said done so what I'm trying to say is that when you look at it as an actor where is the boat from here is absolutely irrelevant which you see when you see this absolutely irrelevant where is the boat from here nobody asked where is the boat from here correct so I got it I said okay done now tell me what you have done these are the directors that when you know the story thoroughly then you're both on the same page if you're not quietly listen to him because he knows what he's doing Even for King, most of my work is with Sohana.

1:08:03And such a sweet kid. Such a sweet kid. She's working so hard. She's really working so hard. My God. And it's amazing. My son is also working there. So it's a whole thing, Nepo thing that is happening. So you have Siddharth, who I did Salaam Namaste with. and in Salam Namaste Zeek my son was the small baby who was walking a short Salam Namaste just in there a small child he's walking crawling he's Zeek and now he's working with Siddharth as an AD nice it's so nice and and then you have so Sharif saw him walking and he looked at him and said come here he said you're Arshad's son I said yeah give him a hug and all that he just looked at him and realized him here I am so I feel so nice to see all this first time when was your first time when you as an actor started trusting way long in life I swear I am telling you this is Naseer that told me this I am telling you before I was honest that I was I was crazy I was like I can survive with this I was like happy let's go But Which I Later on I actually sat down And thought I said I'm doing something But no kidding I finished I said this earlier I met Naseer Sahib And I was Saying bye to him He told me He said Ashad Vah After a long time I was on my toes Acting with an actor I was like He's pulling my leg I said Seriously He said It's a good job give me a big tight hug and then he's been my friend ever since ever since ever since so yeah for me that was quite a someone like Naseeruddin Shah telling you that you're a good actor so you should take a good actor there's no debate on that after that but I don't think that I should go on my back like maybe I was the main lead maybe I'm like an almost hero in this movie yeah I'm a main hero.

1:10:18Main hero. Why am I a side character? No, no. Somebody else is taking over everything. No, no, no, no. I'll tell you, all this comes from where you have started. Okay? It's the truth. I think the people who have been, where I've been, will understand what I'm saying. I came to be a hero. I got such a big role in a film. That's the big thing. You understand? How can I be unhappy with what I got? And say I want more than this. You say go home. You go home. I didn't want to become a hero. You get it. I still got a second lead in my first film. I've been doing this. Then I got a lead also. What is my reason to crib?

1:11:07I don't see it. What is it? See, when you say, I'm only a solo hero. There are two things. I think that your ego is very big. The other thing is that you're afraid in someone's work.

1:11:28If you're secure, it doesn't matter. You're okay. It doesn't matter. You put me in the main. It doesn't matter. I'm very practical. I tell my people, I'm not a hero. I won't get money. I told what's the name Subhash when we did Jolly 1 and then for Jolly 2 Akshay wanted to do it and all that so and Fox was I told Subhash I said please I said think about it I said you'll get 500 crowd with me Akshay will get 5000 crowd with me I said you'll be you'll get a set you'll be able to make that set you'll be able to shoot the film the way you like it Why are you not doing it? Just go ahead and do it You understand So I don't have those things I really don't And a lot of people might think Ah, they're saying No, it's a fact I don't know I played a role in Munnavaa So after 4 ,000 people I played a role in Munnavaa I don't know It's a difference It's a difference In a sense What is there today?

1:12:32You know If you're in my situation Go by that Stop living in the future Or the past Live today today can you afford it can anybody afford to take you as a hero today no live in today there are many actors who have ruined the career with this thought that I am solo and sit at home nothing is done that's your sensibility it's practical in life but why few actors outsider, new 50-100 crores and few are not lucky I would say because there are a lot of good actors who are backing up I said no there's not a factor called luck which is very important some people are ready to pay that much on their face in making PR value you have a bigger company also backs them up and there must be other reasons there must be another fondness to it maybe a close friendship to it there's some something happens something happens maybe early age they see and they see there's an underutilized asset yeah you know that tomorrow will become a star let me Let's make him my property There's a very ugly thing Used to happen In the film industry When I was there Kind of like this But in a different way Right now it's far more Cleaner, whiter Corporate Contractual So it's better now Where you sign a person You say okay You sign him for three films Or whatever When I came in There's two ugly things Used to happen There were five, six heroes That are being launched so a producer would pay all of their money all of them means$5 ,000 $5 ,000 there was no amount $5 ,000 it was a lot means that he gave the signing okay and what happened the film was released the film was made the other people said pay off money so it's a kind of a gamble so this was you know today also we are doing it in a different way you see an actor you see his potential and accept today So, it's a screen test, it's a video, it's a TV series, it's a joke.

1:14:41And then you say, and you realize that boss, he's a future star. Now you cash on him. If you put it on the first film, if you put it on the first film, then you'll know that it will be useful in the second or third film. So, you put it on the second film and you sign the person. You've never given screen test, audition. Never ever in Malaysia. You've never given any audition? No, never. we always choose for circuit for all for gold for all and wherever where audition he got out and I didn't give actually I think one place I think I don't name that person because whatever so the initial which I said also I said here's the thing I've never given audition in my life if I give you will not take me which is exactly what happened so no I've never given audition I don't know how to give audition I'm the lucky one but I don't even know I'm nervous I'm very nervous I'm telling you I told you in the beginning I told you so you're nervous in the movie but you asked me to give a decision I'm nervous as a wreck it seems like the first reason to not do a film was the reaction to the end I think it's not fear of failure it's more the fear of being rejected and this must be this is far back something must have happened in my life I'm so scared.

1:16:05I just can't give auditions. It doesn't happen. It doesn't happen. I can't do it. Raju really wanted me for this one, for Sanju. He really wanted me. And I told him, I said, Raju, it won't happen. And he's a friend. No, we'll do it. We'll do it. We'll do it. For that Vicky's role. Yeah. and I mean I also had my own reservation there was one big issue was that Ranbir and me are completely different age you know so what happened that thought when I was young they would have had to make me look young with prosthetics and special effects and when we are both getting old I have to do this so that but Raj was willing to take that chance also I didn't wow I did the screen test and all that and I don't think even he was convinced neither was I was convinced it didn't happen so what do you love yourself no I don't no I don't I don't know I don't self love no I should have every actor must be every person should be I would say everybody should love themselves actors especially but no I don't I absolutely vanity is absolutely not my virtue zero it's absolutely zero I mean if I did love myself, I would really look after myself.

1:17:30I don't. No, I am not. Why? I don't know. I don't care much. No, I don't care. Yeah, no. I don't know how to explain it to you, but no, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what you think of. Oh, let's put it there. That's pretty much it. Actually, I don't care. I really don't care. I don't care. What do you think about yourself? Or your thoughts are not me. Zero. I don't care. I mean if I ever dress up well or if I am it's purely because of the people who work with me who really would like me like my managers my style as you know the whole team they want me to look good so they are insisting aray yeh pahin aray wo pahin, yeh kar, wo kar Mujhe if here without any help and they say that Raja's studio AC is very hard

1:18:34I would have done that. Or maybe if this interview was happening at say about in the evening or night and I had nothing better to do the next day or I was in the mood to have a drink, I would have had a drink over here. Then you would have had another conversation.

1:18:57But why don't you? I'm curious. Because probably because you were alone and you lost your parents at earlier. There will be more reasons you would start falling in love with yourself. I don't know, right? It's either that you've given up. That someone doesn't need me, doesn't need me, then go outside. No, that's not. I don't know. I don't know. I've never. It really has never ever been Like that ever in my life You know that And that is a problem Especially if you're an actor That's a problem What problem If you don't love yourself You must What problem is that if you don't love yourself You have to love yourself If you love yourself How do you expect the rest of the world to love you You have to look after yourself You have to look good all the time You have to have that best body And the best nature And the best And the best And the best And the best You know That's important for an actor.

1:19:51You must. Everybody should be like that. But yes, there are people. I don't know. I keep saying, I say, in my heart, I'm a cowboy. First movie of mine. Okay. First movie. And we're going to Hyderabad shooting. Okay? And I, as a, the way I was, what you call, dancer, or the way I am. I sat on a chaddi and banyan. I sat on a flight. Because I was walking and I was comfortable. So I was wearing my shorts and my banyan. I went for my shoot. This thing is a good thing. Cut to Fona. Do not ever dress up like that and travel. Yes ma 'am. What happened ma 'am? There are people looking at you. You are an actor.

1:20:37Behave like one. There are people looking at you. They are judging you all the time. You have to set an example. And this is not an example you set. Yes ma 'am. See what is this? Then once we came to shoot on the street. There was a horse. And Jayaji was sitting on the horse. And I came and sat on the ground. Like I said, get up, get up. Sit up. Get a horse for the head. See, I was learning all these things. And I think Jayaji taught me a lot of these things, behavioral factors. Then we saw a film and we choose to call us for all the trials because she wanted us to understand and she's going to go out.

1:21:21She's going to go out and she asked me, Arshad, she's calling me, Arshad, how do you like the film? I said, ma 'am, it's a terrible film. I'm not going to say two times. How many films are you? You won't do anything. Okay, it was a great achievement.

1:21:44All these things. I don't know. I've never bothered never really that vanity thing has never come into me good prepare is one cheap cars cheap cars cheap brands just to talk about as an actor that I don't care about but does it usually your value increase which car perception increase your perception I tell you honestly most people don't buy this because that car is a

1:22:28That's the truth. Many people you'll see that you'll see them in a fancy car but they live in a small apartment. Yeah. You know. So that's all their priorities. But it's a fact. The work has increased the perception. It's good. Wow. as an actor what is the difference is something more work no no no I noticed the only thing that gets them more work or anything is if the box office is ringing and the producer is making money you're going to get work if it's not it's not it's not it's not you think your perception is good your ego your ego that it's not the work, but they don't know how to get it.

1:23:18They think that it's such a big car, it's a lot of work. The car is bigger than the other, it doesn't know. It's like, I'm going on, but it's no matter. Do you think people enjoy it? Public, that it's a lot of fun. People enjoy it in entertainment. You enjoy it in entertainment. You enjoy it in the entertainment. People just like to, they don't even care. Let's be honest. They don't give a shit. People really don't give a shit. And they don't, it's, it's so easy to increase your followers on Instagram. But as you do, as silly things as you do, they will grow. And it becomes difficult to increase for a person.

1:24:01Okay? But that does not mean that whoever has a follower is more sensible. No. Or people love him more. No. He is not entertaining. He is looking for him. He is looking for him. He is looking for him. we have fun watching I have to sit and talk to you then you will get it I have to listen to gossip or listen to two jokes you will enjoy it I have to people like him more no no but here see you have created such a fabulous atmosphere it's a wonderful conversation I have to say is so good because Because it was so intelligent and so fun. It's the perfect combination of anything. Everybody would enjoy watching that.

1:24:52You understand. And there was no one thing. You understand? So, it's different. I think when you understand and when you happen to crack this thing, then it works. It works perfectly fine. It's a pleasure coming and talking to you. Thank you. Otherwise, it's not. half the time you're wondering where did I get get an idea you gave me starting and you would have cracked the joke and you had to take it well did it happen yes it happened very early I got a letter of apology and I said really letter of apology yeah apologize interviewer because he interviewer so then then interviewer or some institution.

1:25:40I stopped cracking jokes. Then my interview had become for a good bit of time. It was a very serious interview. It was boring. It was like, tell us about your film. It's a nice film. Good. You can see Friday Kooli Dori. Yes, it is. And how do you feel in the film industry? It's good. How do you feel about your journey? It's long. It's good. That's it. That once I I maraud one fatta which thankfully the entire fraternity was there and they all cracked up. So it was fine. This guy asked me one random idiotic question. Just to provoke you to provoke you to do a big question. Someone asked me. And he asked me something.

1:26:31And I looked at him and I said that's a damn good question, man. I asked a question. Next question.

1:26:44The whole fraternity cracked up That's a good way A damn good question That's a very good question What was the question? I don't remember it It was a lot of people It was a lot of people It was a lot of people Next question

1:27:03Love it Love it That's a good I'll use this I'll be using this and these things happen I don't plan it it happens it happens it just comes out straight do you think sometimes your self defense is this it's a defense mechanism to crack jolt a lot of people who have humor is also a self like Jaiji understands me very well okay and she has told me she has told us she has told us the way he is doing the way he is doing He is a very serious guy Which is She is so right Because I know how I am When I leave this atmosphere And I go back to And sit in my room I know how I am You know There is a different person That stays with me Okay But no it's not a bad thing It's not a bad thing Like for me When I am enjoying myself I am not putting up an act This is my nature It's a part of you It is a part of me Okay But many a time Yes it does become A different But that is not there anymore today.

1:28:07Okay. You know, today people get offended very easily at anything. So, you have to sit down is better. So, you have to like, when I was a time when I was when I was speaking to an interview, I would go with that thought in my head that I'm going to talk about this, I'm going to talk about this, I'm going to say this, I'm going to say that. Today, when I'm called for an interview, I have to first think, okay, I cannot talk about this, I cannot talk about this, I cannot talk about this. that's the worst thing you understand because when I am asked to come here to have a conversation with you the whole idea is for me to say things to you but my first thought is what all I shouldn't be saying to you now that becomes it's a horrible place to be it should not be like that but I think that

1:28:58we all have our own issues to deal with okay in this way the amount come outside influence can you avoid? I think I feel that my priority is my barn, my wife, my family, my friends that call my work my nieve 말 far away is my priority which is veryutsic my country is somewhere if that guy is not trying to do So I'm not going to be able to solve this. I'm not going to be able to solve this. You will listen to me or not. I'll be able to laugh so much. What's the difference? Somewhere, every person, each one should do their own job. My responsibility is my, I won't be able to do my responsibility.

1:29:51You're beating yourself a lot. You're appreciating yourself. I feel if you can't laugh at yourself, you have no right to laugh at other people. But is it also a way that I'm beating myself? this can also happen. Or this can also happen that I didn't think before your thoughts. Khuddin Maharam, I don't know if you think about it. I have a better sense of you. Better reply also. My comeback is better than your comeback. For me only. So, I'll do the work, you'll also say it. But is it also a way to feel less hurt? No, that's not a question. That I can't be a bit more. Just say, you keep mentioning, that I'm short, I was short, I'm short.

1:30:27Like you've said multiple times. No, not multiple times. How much effort I have, once also I say, It means the same thing. But it's a conversation. But I am. I know that. So it's not a big deal. But I'm saying that that's not the... I think humor, it should not be subjective. I can kill you. You can't kill me. I think that's wrong. But many a time, there are a lot of people who are in our industry. in the future. You have a, you have, if you're on a higher pedestrian, you know, job, so you, whatever you're saying, if you've said someone to someone to say, then you'll be scared. That is not good.

1:31:11I think that's it. It's called insecure bully. It's insecure. It's a lot of inside. So, it's a lot of bullying out. It's a lot of hurt. Little man comes out. So, I've noticed that a lot. So, are you insecure about anything I'm insecure about I think basic life if I'm not able to I don't know about provide also is the right word I think I would feel secure completely secure once I see my children doing fine in their life

1:31:52I mean, the insecurities of my children are so much I can secure them So my insecurity is totally dependent on my kids If they are secure, I am secure If they are not secure, till they are not secure, I am insecure So for example, I'll put it in a small way Is that I can survive in one bedroom hall With a small little mardi I am fine with it, I have to change okay so I have to see them if they are short I don't even care then job it's not it's a small job it's a big job it's a hero it's a hero as long as I'm fine I'm fine so as I said vanity is not my virtue so I don't have to insecurity is that I never could create that environment for children yes I never could I never could say that I have to work because of everybody I get insecure because if I'm not if I can't secure the people around me I feel insecure What's your biggest fear?

1:32:50My God, I hate saying this. Suddenly popping it. That's my biggest fear. And not because of dying. That's not the fear. It's that I have not done, as I said, security. The day my family and everybody, I feel are secure, I will be safe. I will be safe. I will be safe. I will not stay. But now, I get hustled. that if something happened tomorrow, then what's going on? As much as I've done for them, you know, I still fear that. Till I don't see it with my eyes that they are sorted. But that's every parent. When the child feels good, then the parents give it a good time. Then they give it a good time.

1:33:33Then they relax. That's right. But maybe more with you because you've been very closely. Correct, yeah. I've seen a lot. Gone through quite a bit of shit. So, and it never stopped, you know. join the movie also no job fucking years no job I'm just there so I'm watching the wall I literally asked Maria what would you have for lunch and dinner today that's cooked food I like cooking so to cook and all that anyway it's called thanatophobia yeah do not say these big words in front of me I feel you're speaking a language I don't understand no no I'm just telling because you say it thanatophobia what does it mean Fear of dying Okay But mine is not that Fear of sudden dying Yeah I guess And mostly people who have lost someone very closely in their life Someone very close in their life in a very early age They have to be like Why do they feel like Sometimes they are tired of something My life will change My love will change I don't have to be like that I think that's it I get very worried about that Because you have said in the first interviews Fear of dying Yeah, man.

1:34:45That's the only thing that bothers me. That's why I'm in a shop. And now I'm saying, See, because I was a strong guy. I came from, this is a wonderful thing that the king of Dubai had said, which is very nice. He said, stronger men build easier times. Easier times build weaker men. Weaker men build difficult times. That's what I said. So I've been a strong guy. So I could build an easier life for my children. They are not as strong as me. That is my fear. Do you do anything to discipline them and make them tough? I try. I talk. What else can I do? What do you do? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

1:35:32I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Like in our lives, there are a lot of things. We have to deal with the disease. I'm going to travel. I'm going to travel. I'm going to give them a ticket to the first class. I'm going to ask why? Do they deserve to be in the first class? She said, right. Let them earn for themselves. Let them learn the value of money. Let them do this. Let them give them a business, an economy. I'm going to travel. I'm going to listen. I'm going to agree. Then I'm going to say. But in this space hath that that it is coming

1:36:20from pipe out is.

1:36:29what charnyl

1:36:35charnyl places Japanese places Japanese It's valid. Very valid. I mean, what do you think about it? I think it's like, how do I get it? You and Maria, how did you guys meet? St. Andrews. It was very sweet, actually. Maria and me, we were very weird. What do you think? She was full-on hardcore good girl type. Okay? At night, at night, at night, and she was a good kid. I liked her. She was a good dancer. Very pretty. We first met actually because I was, I had a college competition, I think Malar. I was a choreographer then, I was doing plays, so I called him to judge. So I was going, so I met this friend of mine, Ravi Behl, an actor, a lovely guy, an old friend of mine.

1:37:24So he asked me, I called Malar to judge. So he said, he said, I'm a little girl in St. Andrews, with a very cute smile. I said, okay, I'm going to see this school, this college, that college. Then St. Andrews. Now, I'm going to see who's in St. Andrews. I'm going to see who's smile. I spotted her. I said, pretty girl. Anyway, no, nothing about the fact that nothing is. None. I thought you were the good answer. I asked, I said, listen, I do plays. And if you feel like doing it, please let me know. I would really, it would be lovely if I would have you. No. Okay. Then I played in bandwagon, so I wanted to watch her.

1:38:05And she saw us performing and she loved it. Then she joined. So that started from there. She was nothing. She was just a background dancer. She was one of the dancers. Then she became a chorus dancer. Then she became the lead dancer. Then she started helping me out with the things. It's like that. And you just gradually, and she fell in love with me. I didn't. She fell in love with me. She was a lovely girl, but she fell in love with me. But she never told her. I didn't say anything. He was saying his body language, but he didn't say anything. So I was stressed out, because all my friends said, I think she likes you.

1:38:40I said, no, I think she likes you. And then I just asked him, do you like me? No. Sorry, I was wrong. It didn't happen. This just went on. I also got frustrated. In Dubai we had a show once And I gave a good Catholic girl A beer Aadi Heineken I got all the stories I love you I love you I love you Then we started going out And we really Organically got married We didn't know how to get married We just realized that it's been done We've had so many years of affairs Now let's do it And there's nothing, not one thing that I could see that goes against her. As in, when I look at her, she was absolutely cute, adorable, good looking girl.

1:39:41Nature was beautiful. Her morals, everything was intact. Very nice. Good girl. Good Catholic girl. Sharif. Everything you want in a girl. She had it. Only thing, she was nuts. She was crazy.

1:40:04But you must be loving that. She's lovely. She's like, what's up? She's a teacher at home. I think the family values. I think these are things that is there. I think I will never come in the way of that. She's saying it, it's done. And she's very good with all that. And she's still in love. Doesn't stop. Just doesn't stop. And very bright. Always stood first in class. One of those kids. My God. Very intelligent. She wrote fully, I'm fully proud.

1:40:39But it's such a long relationship, right? Over the years. And the way you talk, you still love her. Like a lot. She's a lovely person. There's no doubt over that. What do you do? What do you do little things even today? You know that's the whole thing about love Love in a Behold Unreliable It's the most unreliable thing What you need is respect You need to admire You need to respect the other person And in my opinion that's more important What's the difference between love? Love changes with time Today you love your wife As a girlfriend Then you love your wife Then she becomes the mother Your love will shift Your daughter will shift Your mother will shift Your love will be secondary Then they grow up Your value change Your entire being Becomes for your children Now the relationship between that love That was there has just shifted From there to there Before that you used to love your parents you know then you start loving the person you fall in love with then you start loving the person the child that you have so that love keeps changing but the respect doesn't change if you have respected your parents you will respect them if you respect your husband you respect your wife that won't change that respect is more important than love love is the most frivolous thing lust has more value than love you said it somewhere you should be in lust because I'm telling you In reality In a relationship A husband and wife should actually Be in lust with each other more than love When you're in lust That doesn't die You can lust for the oldest woman in the world A young guy can lust for an older one Okay But love Don't be sure That's why she can love her Lust is Far better than As I said love changes its form Lust is far better than love In a relationship In a husband and wife relationship In a lover's relationship You should lust for each other And that's what's good Because that will keep your relationship alive forever Forever You will find moments to be with each other Even if there is everybody You will find time You will steal moments to be with each other And just hug each other Kiss each other Because you are in lust with each other If you are in love You will say Okay Let's go Let's go What pole dance Was it both a respect A lust It's not It's not necessary Just because you're in lust You don't respect the person Of course not It's just a higher form of love I feel Lust is a higher form of love I just feel that As I said, love changes its form Goes from parents to Girlfriend to wife to children It keeps changing You have this lust feeling You don't have to love with your husband Or with your girlfriend You can't put it anywhere That is one thing that is only meant for your partner And nobody else Doesn't that make it more important than love?

1:44:07When love is something that can be with everybody I can love my friend I can love this table, chair, this I cannot be in lust with this cup How do you communicate love Without saying it now Oh I think love is something That is so simple One look can do the job One look I am telling you From a film point of view I will tell you Famous scene Palat palat palat One look In reality I am telling you It is the most beautiful thing It is the most beautiful thing And you look at it, you get that. It's a fabulous feeling. And you know, there's something in the back. I'm a very kind of physical person. So I love to hug.

1:44:53And that I do all the time. I will hug my children. And I can think you can see it. And I like people who hug with full heart. So for me, it is, sometimes I don't say anything to Maria. She's just walking like that. I don't catch her like this. And I say, I guess. She knows what she's getting.

1:45:18And I'm telling you It's a lot to do with As I said We also Our love has shifted From one to the other You know It has shifted But there is a lot of respect I have a huge amount of respect for her For the kind of things she does The way she keeps the family together You know And how she is She's like a solid person there Because of her I can take some chances because I know this is a very crazy woman in my house I have to stop a house acting so she will go this bright woman do something she will take care of something of you yeah nice she gets you that stability that you miss in your life and it's good to have people you must marry somebody like that it's good your pillow balance if I am your support system you should also be my support system.

1:46:10That's what I feel. Quality is when you talk about male and female. It should be on both sides. Like I had not done three years so it was not for me that my baby was getting hurt. Absolutely not. The last question. So Bhagwat is coming on Z5. It's actually a true story. This was a very bright man who was a serial killer. He used to basically woo women and con them into marrying him, take their money, and he would kill them. But the smart thing was, why did I feel good? You know, we often tell you, you see that this villain is destroyed, the picture is finished. But, there are a lot of things that start after that.

1:47:05Did you get to get a criminal?

1:47:35I said, criminal and there's a cop and he's caught in it. I said, it was fun that after that, you tell me that he can prove the crime or not. Because that is where the crux lies. In reality, there's absolutely no proof that he will convict. Because there is no proof. Because what is happening is that when the bodies are found, the girl is in an isolated area say in a bathroom locked from inside and she's dead. So how do you convict her? It becomes suicide. So all the cases were suicide. And this cop has to prove that this person has to say. If he said it, he didn't get the pill. So all these things came out.

1:48:27So I said, for me, that's interesting. It's an amazing behavior. It's not a fact. Which I thought was very fascinating. You know, he mentions, in the film he says, I am a baaz. What's his basic meaning? That baaz, in his course of life, there are times when he gets old. Okay. And that time, he loses his feathers. And that is the most vulnerable time of his life. And that lasts for a few months. What happens is when he loses his feathers, he actually goes on isolation. He hides himself. That bird hides himself from everybody because right now he can be killed because he can't do anything. He's absolutely, absolutely helpless.

1:49:18And he suffers and waits for two, three months for his feathers to grow back again. And when his feathers grow back again, he's back again out attacking. Now again, he can hunt. but that few time is so this guy is the one that now this is the two three months like my legs will rise again then then then it's an amazing thing I had no idea about this so yes so this is the the the the the the the the it was absolutely my pleasure thank you so much for doing this it's nice to talk good conversation smart thing. You let people talk. You're not trying to show how smart you are. You know? It's very good.

1:50:05Thank you. You are bright, but you're not trying to show it. Thank you. Hello, my man. How are you? How are you? I am very good. Sharon and all are not bad. I've had snake as a pet. I've had a monkey as a pet. Squirrels are very good. Squirrels are very good. Then I've had white rats as a pet. And snake as a pet. Yeah. The most fascinating thing about what I used to find was, you can hold a snake, you hold it tight. And that will get out of your hand. Now, how tight it is. Because what happens is that the skin is, so the body is moving inside the skin. So the entire body goes like this, it goes up.

1:50:43And the skin is slightly greased, then the skin pulls up. And then it goes like this, like this, like this, it goes up, and again the skin pulls up. So you don't realize it, but it gets out of the skin. That's why you catch it to the neck because there is gap and fingers are like that. Thank you so much for watching this episode.
