How much exercise we are, how much protection we are. We are putting sun-streaming or not. We are repairing our skin in the night or not. All of that is going to contribute to early aging. We should do facial. We should do it. We should do it in small parlours. Gold facial, diamond facial. That is not right for your skin. And also the massage techniques that they use. Those are very pretty looking people. They are more concerned versus average looking people.
40Absolutely. There is no depth of beauty. Who's a beautiful person? Our skin hints that we are aging. What hints are there? Pigmentation, fine lines, dullness. Those who get better aesthetics, do they feel more confident? Sometimes it has affected people's relationships. A boyfriend gave a comment. A rejection face in marriage. Obviously, psychology will have an effect. Start in your 20s, care of your skin. How many times can delay your aging? I have seen people who look younger from age from 10 to 10 years. As a dermatologist, what is your routine routine?
20We all need healthy skin. That's why we have a special series where we are talking about advancing skin health for every skin story with sensitive skin experts at Aphir. In this episode, we will talk about aging. Today, everyone wants to see young people. But do you actually delay aging? Today's guest is Dr. Neeti Gaur, an experienced dermatologist. We will know that in this episode, we should use anti-aging products in young age. What are the retinoids? And which age should be used in which? Satin pillowcases, face yoga, gua sha, are these trends in truth? And you should consume which foods for anti-aging?
02This episode is the end of the video. and tell me what you learned from this episode.
12Dr. Neeti Gaur, welcome to figuring out. Tell me, what's happening now, which people are getting faster age? Why are people getting older and why are they getting older? First of all, stress. We are getting into our pituitary, our cortisol levels, we are not getting into de-stress levels. We are getting into stress. we are getting stress we are thinking but we are small we don't eat food we don't sleep we don't sleep we have the circadian rhythm which God has made it like that for all organs skin is also an organ so our day is still in defense and in the night is still in repair mechanism but we are giving that chance so aging will be what is aging?
55aging is my healing and repair capacity is aging when I am giving it time how will I do it so this will be for everyone for every age group for every person I read a study that Gen Z is faster age than millennials why? millennials are ambitious millennials also have to survive millennials also have to see stress levels are almost the same then Gen Z is why? say millennials tell me that my mother used to look younger at this age than I am looking so the stresses your mother took same thing with every generation what we are eating we are saying we are organic eating we don't know how organic it is you know frankly so the quality of what we are eating our lifestyle daily and our stress factors this is all that is very much contributing to our aging stress is number one factor but sun exposure global warming is getting ozone layer is getting depleted our sun exposure is increasing then our sugar intake processed food intake all of that we are causing so much oxygen accumulation in the body how many antioxidants how many citrus fruits because of that of course let me show you fruits and show you of course which fruits are the best citrus fruits you know so anything oranges lemon, avala, tomato kino, kiwi it's very good berries because antioxidants are rich strawberry, blueberry, blackberry all berries because they are rich in antioxidants banana also but actually banana comes into high glycemic index and banana apple and all that but see every fruit has its own value actually okay yeah so grapes be aap le lo aap sugarcane le lo aap apple le lo sugarcane kharaab nahi ho da hana like i said kharaab nahi hai but then high glycemic index hai nutritive value ke saap se dekhen to achcha hai but kyan ki hum itna zada high glycemic index otherwise kha ra hai everyday and exposing our cells to stress factors that humara carbohydrate metabolism is dysregulate so if we see then we say don't eat apple don't eat banana don't eat grapes don't eat mango don't eat sugar cane but in all there is also its value so if we keep that aside then we say eat carrot eat papaya eat carrots eat more eat citrus fruits eat berries like we say antioxidants eat seeds eat so those who don't eat fruits
52one of the factors amongst many one of the factors which factors age faster which factors are we doing and are bad which we get back when we look at our skin our whole lifestyle reflects on our skin the kind of food that we are eating how much exercise how much activity how our level is, how much we protect our skin from our skin. Because we think we're just saying that we're just saying that we're just saying that we're just saying that we're just saying that we're just saying that we're just saying that. But aging is not just that. Our fine lines are on, texture changes, pigmentation issues are on, all of these are aging.
34So we're putting products, we're putting sunscreen or not. We're repairing our skin at night or not. All of that is going to contribute to early aging. But how does it happen? When does it happen? Repair is just a guardian rhythm of the body. In day time, body is in defense mode. That's why we are active. At night, skin, body, all organs are in repair. So, just so? Slow down. Of course. Sleep, growth hormone, which is the generation of growth hormone, it increases the growth hormone. It keeps our cells active. It keeps regenerating. You don't give it chance. you don't have to stay, you don't have to rest or you don't have to rest so that growth hormone that release that will be done that will not be able to do your work that will not be able to do your work tell me what is adequate rest her doctor says adequate rest is see when people ask me this I always tell them ideally we should get up at 6 o 'clock in the morning and should have slept for 8 hours before that and how many people are doing this because circadian rhythm is like after 9 o 'clock 10 o 'clock our body starts the repair mechanism so that's adequate rest is 10-6 ideally ideal rest is and if you don't do it at 12 o 'clock but 8 hours at 4 o 'clock and 8 hours so is there something different yes it will be different because it's like a circadian rhythm so there's nothing to happen there's no solution because like the access is increasing in the world like the new things are increasing like the ambitions are increasing so night life is active and increasing right 10am is I don't know how many young people are possible like I'm going to work at 10am I don't even know probably how do you sleep you know we have to have better coping mechanisms what are coping mechanisms and what are better so what we are eating we have to watch consciously watch we have to watch when we can sleep let's make a pattern we have to practice we have to practice we will always underage now we don't sleep so we have to stress is my body.
11If I don't give adequate rest so I'm going to do it to de-stress yoga, meditation mindfulness practice so you know all of this will contribute to making it a little easier for me. Tell me very basic question why is it age? What happens in the body which is a bad thing and it's a bad thing. so when we age our
42elastin and collagen which is our firming elements tight they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are and their repair regeneration is not at speed or not after a certain age so so this because our brightness of high quality will take us less golden so that's the elastin collagen which is our generation and the breakdown of it we can do aging can we reverse it? we can reverse it but we can slow down if my skin is every year for example we can do it 2x speed so we can do it 1x but we can do it but we can do it if we can do it with the help with the help of procedures we have energy based devices high intensity focused ultrasound radio frequency devices you can do these procedures you can stimulate your cells so that helps in your forming but it can reverse completely reverse but you can assist preventive for the future ideal way or ideal procedure start in the 20s start for example our skin care how much we can delay our aging so if we follow integrated approach correctly so I have seen people who look younger so 35 people will look 25 now I'm looking 45 and I'm looking at 50 and I'm looking at 35 and that's not possible Okay, so I think I can think that I can see 45 by 35, so I can do it.
46Yes, I can do it very particular, so yes. But realistic is so much that you can see 45 by 40. Okay, realistic is 5 years, ideal is 10 years. But our daily life is like that we can follow our idealism. And what will we reflect? Very specific question. some celebrities don't age why is that exercise important lifestyle regulated is important and of course timely intervention in terms of the right products when it was the right age for that and timely intervention for anti-aging or preventive aging procedures now we have profilo which is a biomodulator which is neither a filler nor a booster in between so when you're doing all of this timely you will age gracefully you know this is not a lot time consuming not really it's a habit and healthy habits are never time consuming someone to see and maintain somebody to maintain somebody who is 25 years old or 25 years old he is watching how much time you should visit in order to because celebrities keep visiting and that's why they keep looking the same way so for a youngster every 3 to 6 months okay every 3 to 6 months because Because your skin cell turnover rate naturally is so good that you will use correct products.
11You will do some procedures that you have a little bit of a skin booster. You know, there is no procedure to remove dead cells. So, your cell turnover rate will be so much support that you can do longer follow-ups. Okay. But for somebody beyond it, then at least once in every two months, once in every eight weeks, you should see your dermat. Do you think, here's a question, because I've noticed something. those very pretty looking people are more concerned and they are more stressed versus average looking people absolutely all the time so what is it when you already see you 50 people are running what are you getting stress for yourself why do you think this happens that's where psychology comes in because they are already so good I think you know perfection is sometimes problematic is that we are perfect but the flaws that are one or two they become very big because they are already there so they want to go up there you know so sometimes I think perfection is a problem sometimes beauty is not a depth so who is a beautiful person beautiful person from the visible aesthetics point of view I don't talk about internal talking about?
32For us, beautiful person is someone who has a healthy skin. So, which is your skin texture? How does it look healthy? Skin texture. Okay. The way pigmentation is not very pigmented. It's not fine lines we have been saved. Skin is healthy. Supple is soft is radiant is glowing you know. it's it's it's beautiful it's beautiful beautiful and thodi si beauty asymmetry me bhi hoti hai thodi si beauty imperfection me bhi hoti hai you know but then it has its own charm no so recognizing that aap pleasant lag rahe hai aap radiant lag rahe hai aap ki skin glow kar rahi hai no that is beautiful and still but bhoit loog hote hai jo yeh sab hote hai and then after that because I could be beautiful for someone but I would want more on myself why not and we are in the era and it's only going to get better where we can know if I don't like something about myself I can make it a little better like the other day I had a young girl who was very conscious about her nose and when I was looking at her and I said aesthetically I make noses like these you know it's not something it's very good why you bother about it her mother was also so we've tried to speak to her a lot and she's she's very conscious about it then i said okay you know if you're conscious about it we'll work on it and when we worked on it i realized yeah she is right because it's looking even better now after we worked on it it's looking even better so you know sometimes it's what we call as perfect there is a possibility and capability beyond it.
24I think it's just point of view. Even better if she doesn't do it, she was better. If you make it like that. She had a better perception for us. People other than her. She wanted it to be better for her. There's no ending. People can go crazy about it. That is why I always say that it's overdoing anything. Overdoing anything is somewhere are going to cause some harm to us you know some damage will always happen whenever we're overdoing but first thing tell me that my skin has aged or how healthy is this can you tell me that is there a test not really not really we have scams we have dermal scans okay like a woods lamp which can analyze how many photo damage is on my skin or how many fine lines are showing you can take an average estimation with which you can match the chronological age and your skin age.
30Is it appropriate? But it's more of a clinical assessment. What your dermatologist for example if we look at the skin what your dermatologist assesses for you? That is to be it's more like an observation thing. Okay but I say short short answer. not yet but we'll get there someday we have a lot of scans but which scan is this? it's dermal scan it's actually a woods lamp which is if you want to do it then what do you say? woods lamp examination so I did I was in a wellness center and what was my scan was my face they did some machines and they were using AI was using and predicting that if my skin if it doesn't damage so much dixi abis ke at mujhe kya kya karna chahiye to aise aaglye 4 saal mein 2 saal mein better kaisa ho sakti right woh pura scan karke bata hai and samabhi same yeh tha fine lines bata di, meri skin ki age bata di mein kitna damage kar chuka ho sun ki wajay se kaisa hai, meri complexion mein kya problems hai, mein koic acne kaha kaha pe zahadha aasakte hai, kaha kaha pe kama aasakte hai and most of it was true so woh scan I don't know what the word for that scan is, wood lamp bhi ho ga nha and AI is analyzing it and telling you.
45So probably you know, it will then put a software on it and better it will be. But you know, if we evaluate so much, we will stress ourselves. Fair. Skin, while we say, we say that the largest organ is, largest organ is. We already do it. But this cell turnover rate is very slow. So we'll have to give it time. Now I started some process. So I can expect the next day, one, ten days, that I can expect the result. expect so if I keep looking at myself and telling myself no this is not you know mine that strong it is then it will not difference I think I am already very assessed those who are obsessed they are obsessed and that's where actually we in our practice realize that's where the problem is that's where the problem is we are just too judgmental and unfair on ourselves sometimes and I think it's not just us not just we are like someone's habit like my friends there are many friends in the car they are now coming from home watching the car they are sitting in the car they are going to see the car they are going to see the car where you see the car they have to make the car it's their habit in my office in my team studio there are people who watch themselves plus they watch themselves they also watch myself so it's just the habit of being that's how I get the difference like I didn't get I didn't get so now my team no no you have to put and I was like okay I never noticed maybe I noticed so I ignored the hair doesn't look like you have to make a hair like every thing has a habit they can see in themselves and in others true so actually perfection is good partly but overdoing anything is not good don't get obsessed yeah stress is not just being ambitious or not or being short tempered stress is this also over evaluating over analyzing is also stress do you think my skin is healthy?
51yes quite healthy quite healthy rate from 10 be honest 6 okay it's quite then it's 6 standard what's missing? it's good now what's missing? what do you feel is missing? I've asked every dermat by the way I'm enjoying it just because I feel it gives people more context of what is the right thing and what is the wrong thing so I will tell you that I will see dyschromia there is a bit of uneven tone laterally I hope you use your sunscreen regularly I use so this is one problem what is the other problem there are two things one is dyschromia and acne this acne is either so acne is also bacteria that's what I'm saying that skin is healthy so these are the two problems what is the other problem in a jawline, asymmetry, fillers, under eye what happens?
42So, we can do under eye because this is a bit of a pain we can do under eye we can hydrate the skin at your age the skin has to reflect youth which it is and we can add better glow we can hydrate the skin because maybe at this age you still don't we may not be okay with fillers otherwise but like under eye I have done a little bit but skin hydration that will also lift the skin it'll make it more plumb so it's good to do that okay but do you think have you seen this that those who then get better aesthetics or get better and get better and get better and get better before their skin do they end up then get better do they feel more confident about the skin yes because I've seen with so many of my patients confidence I've seen so many of my patients sometimes it has even affected people's relationships you know explain, what happens if someone is a young girl has acne has acne, has acne scarring has pigmentation issues you know, boyfriend has a comment found a more prettier girl or she had to face rejection in marriage you know, for all that obviously psychology will have effect this is how I agree that acne and all these things in India there are problems and people which is going on and confidence change from that because society gives a lot of importance in India specifically looks colors features all of these problems so there confidence there and second I have seen in women perimenopausal zone you know when we come in perimenopausal zone women in 40s late 30s and 40s suddenly so let's say 30s when we come to our collagen production by 1-2 % per year depleted but when we come in the perimenopausal zone 30 % will drop in a year suddenly collagen will drop so you have sagging so a woman who was so confident about herself you know it's not even somebody else it's herself who was used to that firm look on her skin suddenly feels doctor my eyes hollow you know I suddenly feel my right now this is your pre-jaw this is your pre-jaw this is your pre-jaw this is your pre-jaw I'm losing that firmness of my skin they do become conscious about it but my question was more that the same thing who do aesthetics they feel confident in the story because those who have transformed major problems for example head transplant like I have seen someone who has confidence in the world has a killer difference like killer like there is life change and people change this is obscene so head transplant definitely Acne I have seen Bahaut transformation Jho jiski acne skin And then acne free Confidence another level But it's also that I have jawline I have Confidence grows Of course If it's insecure It's a habit Insecurity No It's not a habit And then it's thought Maybe I can do it Or do it Why not There's always scope Of doing something more But then there's always Like this loop Insecurity is a habit Like feeling comparing yourself and jealousy is some kind of habit so that's why I said mindfulness is important all your habits will reflect so this is reflecting on our organ it's a visible organ it's a different it's definitely so mindfulness is to practice in general but if we say that you know somebody did not have a problem and they walked in and we suggested that you do this and that enhanced a particular feature of theirs.
33So obviously confidence boosted our own. So this can be an anti-aging product? Or do you get anti-aging creams in the market? So aging, when we talk about aging, it's actually happening at three levels. One is our skin texture. It's on the skin surface. Our pigmentation, skin texture, plumpness, softness, glow. This is our skin surface. Fine lines. Then below that is our supporting elements. Our fat. volume loss fat dissolve volume loss our elastin collagen production is less our ligaments lose so we start looking at some our skin is not then it's also my bone the third level is at my bone level bone will start my absorption and start it's going to come down so if we talk about the texture then we work on products okay to protect us from photo damage to our pigmentation to assist our skin how to show our skin texture to help us to help us in fine lines to help us to help us to help us but if I need lift I can't do that I can't do that I have to go deeper and do the right thing at a more deeper level okay but can we do some work not for sagging not for sagging it's unfair to expect that fraud fine lines superficial wrinkles what difference wrinkles and fine lines deep wrinkles folds like if this wrinkles I don't know full time wrinkles I mean when I'm expressing lines and when I without expression I have lines so deep so if expression If you have to delay the line of compression, complete wrinkle formation, fold formation, I have to do a timely process, bottle and toxin dilva.
36It will not happen with products. It will not happen with products. Have you heard that in the UK, 10-year-old kids are using anti-aging products? Which anti-aging products are? There is a Guardian's research. Leading dermatologist has said children as young as 10 are putting pressure on their parents to buy expensive anti-aging skincare products. do you think that how insecurity is getting so high when you're using 10 years old 10 years old is getting anti-aging products so I'll tell you in my practice which I've seen I always tell you youngsters especially so I haven't had a 10 year old child yet come and tell me this but I've had 14, 15, 16 year old girls come and tell me that I have to get retinoid I have to get bakuchi oil you know and all that and I always say as much as you retain your skin innocence the skin the skin Aage Aapko Aapke Saath Rheegi You Know So Humko Correct Ingredient Correct Molecule Use Karna Hai Which Is Appropriate For My Age Jab Hum Teenage Me Hai Ten Year Old Hai Teenage Me Hai To With God's Grace Mera Oil Gland Mera Sebum Production Acha Hai Jho Naturally Soft Supple Rakha Hai Mera Naturally Cell Turnover Acha Hai No So I Don't Need Anything More Than A Moisturizer At Night and a sunscreen during the day.
59So, who is it without drugs or who is it ingredients that help anti-aging? The most important things are sunscreen and moisturizer. Then, retinol. Retinoids actually. What are the retinoids? There are vitamin A derivatives. Their work is to keep the cell turnover clean. keep it. So, if our dead cell will pile up, then our skin will be right and our skin will glow. That is where fine lines will help. The skin will be right. And which ingredients are? Then there's bakuchi oil which is like a retinoid. Milder version of it. Then there are peptides, vitamin C. Epidermal growth factor. Injectables, right?
49No, peptides you also get in serum and cream forms. Okay. Then there is epidermal growth factor which is stem cell derived which again is for repair of skin. What should you start with which age? What should you start with which age? When you come to your 20s, you just put moisturizer and put sunstrain in the night. Between your 20s and 30s, you introduce vitamin C. Because vitamin C is antioxidant. Does it mean 25 or 30? so between 20 and 30 all have vitamin C of course if you have your skin acne prone you won't put it with certain caution of course but then vitamin C, sunscreen and at night moisturize towards your late 30s between your 25 and 30 you can introduce a retinoid but consult a dermatologist not every skin needs a retinoid if you have a sensitive skin you may not need a retinoid so late 20s now.
48Post 30's definitely between 30 and 40 we need to do retinoids. We need to introduce peptides to the same way. 25, 26, 27 we can also do retinoids. Consult your dermatologist. And the rest of the things you said? So 30 to 40 age group, 30's onwards actually, you can introduce retinoids post 35, 40's. 40's comes in, you have peptide, retinoid, hyaluronic acid, regular moisturization even epidermal growth factors these all skin appropriate which is correct and you said some oil which age you can do in late 20's like if you have to introduce retinoid but now you don't get a strong retinoid category it's a mild variant which is a dead cell turnover which is our extra dead cell pile up to maintain our cell turnover.
48So it's a milder variant. So which age? Late 20s you can introduce Bakuchi oil at bedtime. Okay. And this will tell you also. Bakuchi, you know, if you ask me, I always tell you, let your dermatologist decide for you. Moisturizer, sunscreen, you've put yourself. But beyond that, let your dermatologist decide for you. Like for example, for a retinoid, we say that we do graded exposure. At the beginning, we are giving stronger retinoids we are giving stronger retinoids we are giving more than 1 week just 1 hour for the day after that if you have skin tolerated it, you will put it all night some people say first you start a little more than 1 % then you will increase okay you have told me that our skin hints are giving us what hints are that everyone is giving us pigmentation a very big hint of photo damage so if my skin first sign of aging that we have seen which we see or neglect is pigmentation because it can be visible before you before you see pigmentation that is one hint fine lines are dullness dullness is very prominent some people always dull and tired I have this problem where I'm very fresh I'm very tired I look a little internally I'm excited and I'm gonna kill the world and I'm ready for the next 50 hours but on my face sometimes it looks like I'm very tired so why do I do that?
26because it could depend on how much your dead cell is it could depend on your skin how hydrated is this is a hint of aging? this will contribute early aging for dullness because your dead cell will pile up
42How much you treat your skin? You treat products that remove our dead cells, our cell turnover is maintained, and you treat the skin as well. When we talk about aging, in my head, there are 2-3 terms. Specifically, 3 types of ages that I think about. Chronological age, which is my age, when I was born and how many years I am. Then there's biological age, which is how many my organs and internal body do age. And then there's a clinical age, which is how I can see my dermatitis visibly on my skin, how I can see my doctors all these three ages. So if three ages are different, then we should see which age, को देख कर anti-aging products या skin care routine change करना चाहिए आपका doctor तो सबसे जादा अच्छा आपको guide कर सकता है आपका dermatologist and एक so what do you see like do you see a clinical age कि visibly कैसा दिख रहे है I match कि आप clinically आपकी आपकी age कितनी है और आप मुझे clinically किस age के लग रहे है okay I'll match you know if because if there are a lot of stress factors that someone's skin pigmentation reflects a lot of skin so she'll be 22 but she's looking 30 it cannot depend just on how much of her age for that age could be somebody who is 40 but she'll be 40 but she's 35 because she's maintained so much and you can see this usually your doctor definitely recognize how old do I look you look like mid 20s which is nice same age and how do you judge you have that eye experience got it make up aging fast regular make up not really not really there is a difference in terms of acne clogging of pores yes but actually I think makeup helps you a little because you have a photo protective layer somewhere or somewhere helps you a little you would suggest that you are in favor of makeup right product for your skin type and obviously overdoing anything over layering of anything is going to harm your skin so how can you make up for makeup no you put makeup plug out but then when you make up selection you also have correct guidance there also experience will always help but I think for advanced like the basic is I don't think dermatitis is going to go for basic things and I'll ask you I'll tell you why basic is take a good moisturizer so you can understand that it's oily skin and dry skin combination that test let's know so a basic moisturizer and take a basic sunscreen and take a look at it if you don't want to do anything and don't want to do much skin and don't have much skin I agree and there is something that absolutely is a fault for it like when I talk about hair people with hair doctors with hair transplant oiling is not a fault for it no one has to be a face on the hair massage is a good thing, feels good, it's great and here is a lot very much problem has happened and you have to do it for you to put it in the feel good and then it's a different thing for soothing but nothing happens this is what a lot of hair doctors say same thing with oil with us also with us means we are also hair doctors but then with skin also if you are talking oil actually glow for that time it does a lot of moisture retain a little soothing anti-infirmatory effect कर देगा, ना moisture retain कर रहा है वो उस समय के लिए glow करेगा, थोड़ी देर impact रहेगा, फिर वो खतम हो जाएगा so oils जो लोग बोलते हैं जिनकी बहुत dry body होती हो, तो oils ही लगाते हैं हाँ, but then it doesn't cure or solve their problem, really?
59it doesn't, unless dry body आप ceramide barrier repair creams you will put it every time it will not do it and the oil effect has a little delay tell me a good ceramide barrier repair cream brand wise citafil has very good barrier repair creams okay guasha
23it's a feel good it's a feel good you massage your lymphatic drainage will stimulate your circulation better will be a little soothing anti-inflammatory effect but don't dry if you use a gua sha use a serum or a mild lotion and then you do it because we've seen a lot of people dry and they'll take a bruises and stretch you know stretching effect they harm their skin in calms but something different from anti-aging? you can do lymphatic drainage puffiness as we're aging on the skin a little the skin looks more puffy it looks more bloated so it will be a little lymphatic drainage stimulate it to effect but not that that lift that is a misconception ligaments are down collagen is elastin it's not going to do that face massage face massage again circulation hydration how much frequency face massage you can do yourself every day you can do it yourself and a more professional facial massage you can do once in about 2 weeks which is with a thicker product which can be done once in about 2 weeks daily you can do it even when you are cleansing with a cleansing balm you can gently massage for about 5 minutes everyday yourself also and facial but for your skin type with the right ingredients by a trained professional so with all due respect to them we don't want to undervalue the hard work that they put in but that is not right for your skin and also the massage techniques that they use it has to be in the direction of your muscles which at a doctor's center it will be by a trained professional who knows your anatomy who knows about your vasculature who knows about your muscles who knows about your fat pads but there are people who swear by it glow is different glow is on the skin surface but if I massage in a very unnecessary wrong muscle movement then my ligaments will be weak my muscles will be weak so I will have early sagging glow skin surface pe a jaega because skin hydrate ho jaegi so kai logan ka agar hydration quotient achcha hai or usko aap halka sa assist kar doge to woha or better lagega but agar myra hydration quotient achcha nahin hai skin ka or mein ye bhi saath mein kara raha rihun to I may land up complicating the thing for me so in all in all nahin karana chahi zayada yes nahin aap medi facials karao let your professional expert guide you on this aap medi facials karao it's good for hydration it's good for circulation it's good for relaxation why not pamper your skin of course pamper your skin okay but in the more technical right way let your expert do that face slapping therapy is actually to increase the vasculature because you're being a little harsh on your skin that increases the blood supply i'm not in favor of that i don't think we need to be so harsh on ourselves but look at face slapping therapy i've heard of it i've understood it read about it I've seen videos not very pleasant so I'm not in favor of that not in favor it's not a scientific background it's not a background you don't have to do it what do you do you will increase your vascularity temporarily but then you will do damage look face slapping as anti-aging procedure I don't think we should do that no there's no scientific validation for it and face yoga is going to be a big industry face yoga because you have in particular you know groups you activate you strengthen yes we can say it can contribute but again right muscle group by a right instructor okay there's also a thing that satin or silk which are bed sheets pillow covers they are better for the skin wrinkles is that true wrinkles it helps us so it's good it's good it's good it's actually good to your bed sheets silk regularly change and silk satin will have for better skin quality chewing gum wrinkles like somebody who is always chewing gum repetitive facial movement in any pattern you know repetitive expression if I chewing gum every time I'm doing chewing movements I'm doing my eyebrows raise I'm doing frown any muscle group you will do repetitive expression then you will get aging and there's also now many people are studying with screen time that if you have a lot of screen time and you have a lot of screens you have a lot of laptop or phone that makes you look older is that true?
38yes because high energy visible rays are not that's direct photo damage we are blaming the blood we are all vitamin D deficient how much we are exposing the blood actually our actual exposure is happening with ultraviolet light sources over yeah so strong sources so i am doing this road damage of course there is strong photo damage this probably could be the reason for your discromia so how will i stop it? sunscreen photo protection adequate sunscreen to be repeated every 2 hours and adequate application every 2 hours adequate is 2 and a half 2 and a half because your light exposure has increased than earlier times 8 to 10 hours a day yes yes yes tube light laptop mobile tv studio lights all of this you are scared no you are not scared you need to be aware any demand has said to me that's why I have said studio lights I am figuring because the pattern is also coming up where the light is going
45okay guys I have to do more 15 things I am not doing enough in life you need to put the sunscreen more often moisturize more often sunscreen more often there's a classic myth ki jab sunglasses pehnte hain so it acts as a protective layer and uski wajay se apko wrinkles come hoote hain is that true or it's a myth partially it's right it's not really a myth because ap jab glasses pehnte ho see when you have sun rays coming you will invariably want to narrow down your eyes and look at something so wrinkles because of the movement and expression bante hain when you have when you're wearing glasses so you reduce movements so you know the line formation wrinkles because of expressions they reduce sun glasses because expressions come out tell me men versus women women age fast men say see women in one age group you can see sudden aging in women you can see sudden aging like in perimenopausal suddenly rapid aging because hormonal mechanism is like that but men aging actually steadily over the years you don't see it so they are aging gradually over the years women because of so women because of the estrogen the hormone they have more soft supple more hydrated naturally more hydrated skin their antioxidants
30Okay.
50factors environmental factors behten unke kud ki habits behten women me kaafi support a certain age tak unke hormones unko de de te te ha for maintaining the skin but jab woh hormones dhere dhere withdraw hoona shurru ho ten perimenopausal me to unko agar unhoney dhyan nahi rakhha hai especially to us time pe suddenly aging dhik jati yo unki to ek hi jhatke mein there was a harvard medical study in 2022 ki women age faster by 6 to 8 years after a certain age yes because of hormonal fluctuations absolutely absolutely because when we enter the perimenopausal zone dhere dhere hamarai female hormones withdraw hoongi or was cellular aging accelerate kardeng and that's why correct so unko zah zahan dakna chayi and what is that age late 30s it's actually 45 plus minus 7 years okay so it's late 30s that you should start taking care of your skin if you haven't taken all throughout jindko PCOS ya PCOD hota hai wou age faster karte hai ki nahi usse kuch lena dena nye hai nahi hai because bhoat impact hai na skin pe because of PCOS aapka like I'm saying acne bhi eek unhealthy state hai skin ka to aap itna bacteria carry kar rhe ho to oxidants bhi aayenge inflammatory cells bhi aayenge woh damage karenge aapki skin ko scarring hogi it will damage the fibrosis so much in your skin it will damage the fibrosis you will have pigmentation issues because you have carbohydrate metabolism is regulated so definitely your skin will get older so you have to see more if you have PCOS but PCOS especially I would like to mention that it is a lifestyle disorder so you cannot do it you have to keep it it's a lifestyle disorder it's a syndrome so you will have to take care of your body in your regular ways okay you know you walk every day if you don't do a lot of exercise you don't do a lot of muscle strengthening this is a big big this again i'd like to mention here women in perimenopausal age should do muscle strengthening it'll always help then you do yoga meditation in 15-20 minutes you do low carbohydrate diet i'm not saying completely cut off because every important substance you have to take but you have some cheese, cheese, meat, processed food, you have less vitamins, you have more vitamins, neembu, avala, tomatoes, quinoa, kiwi, have lots of water, so they have to do a lot of things, but I think this is something, it should do a lot, it should be a lifestyle disorder, okay, we very briefly spoke about day and night, day and night cream, what is the difference between day and night cream, day cream is a lot of different, night cream is a lot of different, and you are market different way market different way day cream yes very different you have to understand circadian rhythm skin organ body circadian rhythm skin skin skin skin day time is in your defense so you have to increase its defense you have to do more photo protection you have to hydrate keep it in night skin repair mode when you do all the things in the night which will help you in repair rejuvenation that will help you all in the night so you will put products like this so in the day there are protection products protection based plus certain products like retinoids you will not use in the day because they are photosensitive so you will damage your skin if you have used in the day so you will use in the night so you will do all the repair or photosensitive in the night
42okay as a dermatologist i use a cleanser twice a day and at bedtime i always first cleanse with a cleansing balm and then with a gentle cleanser i first put a layer of hydrating serum then a halonec acid cream a moisturizer on top of it a mild retinoid because my skin is very supple so i don't want to use a very strong retinoid on my skin so a mild retinoid and during the day i use about two drops of vitamin c serum and then a sunscreen layer on top of it okay so no moisturizer during the day i haven't felt the need because i've had oily skin all throughout okay so i haven't felt the need yet got and i use mild cleansers which don't strip off my oil you know from my skin i don't use a lot of warm water to wash my face so you use lukewarm preferably a colder version of lukewarm water to wash my warm water you don't want to wash your skin warm water you strip off your skin so if you do your skin habitually warm water you clean your skin so your skin will be more sensitive oh I didn't know that and the cold shower is different from that?
59cold shower is a little your pores especially facial skin pores it's a bit constricted partially for a while that's why the eyes it's good then yes partially good yes it's better to be on the colder side than warm for skin but then if you have joint pain if you have muscular pains you want a little warmer water but then you take a tolerable lukewarm maybe on the warmer side of lukewarm for that god I do hot and cold both and that's and within if you are doing with warm water whenever you have a bath but especially if you have used a lot of warm water within 3 minutes of bath you have not had you should put a hydrating layer on your skin got it tell me about few beverages coffee and you know all of these so there are mixed views scientific validation okay okay okay okay entities coffee damage skin but we think that because your energy levels are better so rejuvenation is better but the vasodilator also will open your vessel will open so your sensitivity can increase over use of coffee tea any of this but if you take green tea on the contrary then there are flavonoids and alkaloids all these things they better do you want to drink coffee or not too much too much is how much more than 2 cups is too much 2 cups is too much because about 100 ml about 100 ml maximum coffee is coming that's the coffee because 100 ml coffee can be very strong so let's say about about 1 teaspoon that much is enough 2 times a day yeah because if a little vasodilation will be then you will compensate your body and vasoconstriction will be so like you will repetitively then you will dilate so I don't drink tea and coffee regularly but when I'm sleeping and I have energy boost I'm so I'm so I'm so for image and energy boost it's okay that's okay once in a while nothing happens once in a while is like once in 15 days 20 days which is hardly anything which is nothing okay body nikaal dhegi na jisko nai chai ho nikaal dhegi utna doosko time dee raha na humphir recover kanne ke liye smokers ki age fast hote hi yes yes for multiple reasons ek to oxidant accumulation bhoat strong hai vasculature apki effect hoti hai aap kitna bhi anti oxidant leete raha haap udher se phir oxidants ko ndal raha hai an dar toh apka oxidative repair mechanism slow down ho ga hi plus smoking ka jo process hai us ke liye aapke aspas itne fine lines develop up oh jati hai you know those smokers lying to aap jaldi pigmentation ho jati hai so obviously aap kaging jaldi ho raha hai so smoking is a no no boda nahi dikhna hai toh of course big no and aisa ni hai ki light smokers hard smokers this se kuch fatnir ta smoking is bad for any kind of amount yes because you're accumulating oxidants and there is enough which your stress which your everyday life is already giving to you in terms of oxidants got it why must you consciously take some more alcohol alcohol causes sudden carbohydrate surge in the body okay carbohydrate level suddenly you will increase and chronically long term definitely aging sugar metabolism where you are impaired carbohydrate metabolism that aging will show you okay alcohol is less than it is all similar nothing is similar as far as a mechanism is concerned yeah I mean like have it in moderation ultimately I don't drink so I don't care have it in moderation I don't drink moderation I don't care I'm just asking for a lot of people who want it because a lot of my friends who drink alcohol and I asked I asked my nutritionist on the podcast.
22If from nutrition point of view. What is the best alcohol? Rate worse to best. And he did that. And my friends loved it. And they were like. Please. There is no dermatitis. There is no doctor. I am always asking. If you ask us from skin perspective. All of them are similar. We can say 60 ml. I have seen people. Who are taking 60 ml everyday. And it has not hampered their skin. Provided they have. in other ways the metabolism of the other body is regulated by the carbohydrate like they are gyming out they are exercising regularly and all of that sleeping on time sleeping on time doing multiple things yes okay some supplements to make you look younger carotenoids astaxanthin omega fatty acids okay mainly mainly so they make you look younger so they are going to keep your um oxidant accumulation under check and they are going to have photoprotective effects so they will keep your skin cells rejuvenated okay so they will assist in the process of repair of your skin and thereby they will act for anti-aging got it perfect thank you so much for doing this thank you so much for answering all the questions it was such a delight to interact with you Raj such a delight thank you totally love this session pleasure is all mine Bombay was always better than Pune but definitely but and doctors in general also were not so well paid in Pune.
47That was one of the reasons I moved to Delhi. Okay. You know, after my post-graduation. Your husband's also doctor? No, no, he's in the army. He's a fighter helicopter pilot. Wow. Yeah. Wow. In our sixth episode of our special series with sensitive skin expert Cetaphil, we have Dr. Niti Gaur, dermatologist (MBBS, MD), breaking down why people, especially Gen Z, are ageing faster today and what actually works when it comes to slowing it down. From lifestyle factors to skincare routines, she explains the science behind visible ageing and the small daily choices that make a big difference.
We discuss the role of sleep, stress, sun exposure, diet, and screen time in accelerating ageing. Dr. Gaur also shares which ingredients truly work in anti-ageing products, how often someone should visit a dermatologist, and whether treatments can realistically make someone look years younger.
In the final segment, she discusses day vs night creams, her personal skincare routine, and how caffeine, alcohol, and smoking impact the skin. Dr Gaur wraps up with supplement advice, long-term maintenance tips, and the most important steps for anyone who wants healthy, younger-looking skin.
