Episode Overview

  • Title: E118 - *NEW* UFO Disclosure: Declassified Documents, Government Proof & ET Life On Earth
  • Guest: Richard M Dolan, ufologist and historian
  • Host: Michael Thurston
  • Main Focus: Discussion on UFOs, government disclosures, and the implications of extraterrestrial life.

Key Topics Discussed

Introduction

  • Richard Dolan has researched UFOs for over 30 years, initially exploring the topic for his PhD.
  • He emphasizes the significance of recent declassified documents that challenge mainstream historical narratives about UFOs.

The Impact of the 2017 New York Times Article

  • The 2017 articles marked a turning point in public discourse regarding UFOs, allowing greater acceptance and discussion in mainstream culture.
  • The articles opened doors for a wider audience to engage with the topic.

Declassified Documents & UFO Sightings

  • Dolan discusses how many military reports from the 1940s indicated that observed objects were neither Soviet nor American technology.
  • The term "high strangeness" describes the bizarre nature of many UFO encounters, leading some researchers to reconsider their skepticism.

Ancient Aliens and Historical Context

  • Dolan questions the "ancient aliens" hypothesis, suggesting that while there's reasonable evidence for monitoring, there is little historical documentation of direct contact or modification by extraterrestrial beings.

The Rise of UFO Sightings Post-19th Century

  • Dolan asserts that the explosion of sightings post-19th century correlates with the advancements in human technology, suggesting potential extraterrestrial interest in humanity.

The Nature of Extraterrestrial Intelligence

  • Dolan speculates that advanced extraterrestrial civilizations might not communicate with humans due to cognitive differences, comparing human ancestors' understanding to modern human complexity.
  • He poses that extraterrestrial beings might be monitoring humanity, possibly due to our technological advancements and potential threats like nuclear weapons.

Nuclear Weapons and Extraterrestrial Monitoring

  • Dolan highlights the correlation between nuclear detonations and UFO sightings, suggesting that alien entities may have a vested interest in humanity's nuclear capabilities.

Possible Intervention in Human Conflicts

  • Discussion about whether extraterrestrial beings would intervene in future nuclear conflicts leads to skepticism. Dolan believes that they would prioritize their own interests over those of humanity.

The Psychological Impact of Disclosure

  • Dolan contemplates the potential chaos that full disclosure of extraterrestrial life might unleash on society, questioning whether it could lead to totalitarian control or existential crises among the populace.

Internal Conflicts in Government Disclosure

  • He points out significant internal conflict within the U.S. government regarding the disclosure of UFO information, with factions either pushing for transparency or maintaining secrecy.

Historical Cases and The Tic Tac Incident

  • Dolan recounts the infamous Tic Tac UFO encounter from 2004 and discusses the lack of follow-up on such significant sightings by mainstream media.

The Future of UFO Research

  • Dolan is currently working on a multi-volume series about Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs), indicating growing interest in underwater UFO phenomena.

Key Takeaways

  • Cognitive Dissonance: The public's ability to accept the existence of extraterrestrial life remains fraught with skepticism.
  • Historical Reassessment: Dolan advocates for a more serious academic approach to UFO history, emphasizing its relevance to national security.
  • Speculative Nature of UFO Research: The UFO field is often speculative and complex, making it a challenging yet exciting area of study.
  • Skepticism Towards Disclosure: Genuine disclosure may come with a hidden agenda from the government, highlighting the necessity for critical thinking among the public.

Conclusion Richard Dolan's insights reveal a complex interplay between historical documentation, public perception, and government secrecy surrounding UFOs. The conversation underscores the need for continued research and open dialogue surrounding these phenomena as societal interest grows.

0:00There is a substantial presence of other highly advanced engaged in a major operation that they will not share with us. The real question is, what is that thing? One of the preeminent ufologists of our time, Richard Dolan. We can't handle aliens. Where we can hold several things in our mind at once, what if they can hold hundreds or thousands? This is why, like, they never communicate. I have studied all of the ancient UFO reports that are available. There is reasonable evidence to show that they have been watching us for a long time. We could very well have been monitored. From 1945, planet Earth experienced over 2 ,000 nuclear detonations.

0:37Every time we would do a detonation, we would have bogeys out there all the time that would always disappear just before the detonation. Except on one occasion. One of them apparently didn't get out in time and it came down. What will the consequences be if you tell us everything that you knew? There is still a massive number of the old guard that are like, no freaking way are we going to allow this out. Quick pause, guys. I need to tell you something. it's that time of the year where everyone's on the winter arc hype where they're building their physique which they plan to reveal at some point in the summer of 2026 but i hate to be the guy that says it most of you are going to end up getting fat you'll be overeating you'll be following some sort of a program which isn't actually going to be getting your results you're going to be improvising on the spot no doubt you won't be tracking there'll be no structure just random exercises with minimal progress seen on a week-to-week basis pretty frustrating right Well, that's the whole reason why I built the Thirst app, to help busy people like yourself find a system they can actually stick to over a long period of time.

1:40We have thousands of transformations from men and women who just plug into the app and get the exact plan they need for their goals, show up to the gym and just put in the work. 2:13Let's get on with the video. What's up guys and welcome back to First Things Thirst. We have a special guest today, Richard Dolan. oh hi michael

2:27that was the intro i didn't know it was my turn sorry everything good with you yeah i'm really happy to be here with you uh it's interesting we've never talked before uh and we just had like a one minute two minute chat before we went on and i thought oh i'm gonna love talking to this guy yeah i think it's gonna be a very good conversation As I mentioned before, these are my favorite things to talk about. There's not many people around me where I can have these types of discussions. And I think more people should be talking about it and looking into this because I think it's real. There's definitely things going on, yet there's so many of us are just so distracted with our day-to-day lives that we just don't think about it or put any thought into it.

3:13So, uh, I've been, I've been in this area, this arena of UFOs and conspiracies for a little over 30 years now. Uh, and I've been people, I've been public, I published my first book 25 years ago. And I'll tell you, you know, it's better now than it used to be like 10 plus years ago. It was outside of our little bubble of our community of UFO people. I mean, you could not get people to listen about this subject. I would tell people, oh, yeah, I study UFOs. And after I would have a few minutes to talk with them, I could see that they would become interested. But like initially it was always like, wait, what?

3:56That's a little crazy. And it's definitely a little bit easier now for sure. yeah i mean it's very easy not to think about this subject we all have our lives we're all busy and and in our normal news cycle those of us who listen to news uh something like ufos doesn't come up very much in in my world my research it it would come up every single day like i would i would learn about sightings like every day and there's always something important going on but it would just never make it to be on our little bubble. And that started to change around 2017, of course, when the New York Times, the ultra establishment, you know, the Pravda of our time, decided to publish two articles on UFOs December of that year.

4:48And that, I think, gave permission to other aspects of mainstream culture to think, oh, all right, well, we can talk about this a little bit. the New York Times says we're allowed to now. And so it has changed, but we're still taking baby steps with this whole subject of UFOs or UAP. For sure. Are you one of those types of people who observed something or sensed something and that was the thing that made you automatically intrigued and interested in finding out more? Or is there another reason for you getting into this? No, it wasn't that. My professional training is as a historian. And for all through my 20s and into my 30s, my assumption was that I would just finish a PhD and teach history at some university.

5:39So I studied back in those days a lot of European history, a lot of global international relations, a lot of U.S. history, particularly U.S. diplomatic history and national security strategy. And that was the headspace I've always been in. And then I stumbled into the UFO subject in the early 1990s. 1990s. In fact, I read a book. I saw a book in a bookstore by a British author, Timothy Good, the great Timothy Good, who's one of my favorites. He had a book called Above Top Secret on a display case. And the subtitle is what caught my attention, The Worldwide UFO Cover-Up. And I thought, wow. Even in the early 90s, I mean, we'd all heard of a UFO cover-up.

6:22It's like, I just didn't know anything about it. Like, is it true? Is it not true? And the thing that got me at that time was I was actively studying U.S. national security strategy in the late 1940s, like the presidency of Harry Truman. And I knew enough even back then that there were all these claims about a UFO cover up in the 1940s. And I thought, well, you know, is this like a real thing or is this just BS? What is the story here? I'm studying this period of history. I'm trying to become an expert, or at least I'm telling myself that. And there's this big question mark, like, was there a cover-up?

7:02And if there was, why had no academic historians ever discussed it, like ever? And I thought it was a bit odd. So I remember flipping through Tim's book and I thought, this is a pretty good book. Like he had a variety of documents in there. He was talking about UFO government policy of all of these different nations, including the United States, including the UK, including a lot of other places. And I thought this looks like it's legit. And even if they resolve that UFOs were some kind of conventional thing, why wasn't that like, why would that not be of historical interest? If you've got 1948 and if you've got generals and admirals and intelligence chiefs actually talking about these flying saucers in the context of national security, I'm thinking, why would that not be interesting?

7:53Like, that's fascinating. And so I bought Tim's book. I got online. What was then online? The baby Internet. And I just started going down that little rabbit hole thinking I would do this for a month or two and I'm going to resolve for myself if this is actually was was any kind of a subject of importance to United States national security people. And that's really where I started. I just wanted to kind of resolve this for myself because I didn't want a big question mark hanging over my head in an area that I was interested in. and well that was all she wrote because i i read tim's book i thought it was a great book and i went i just kept going down that rabbit hole and i i realized very quickly that there were quite a few reasons to credit the fact that these objects were not secret u.s technology were not soviet russian technology were not anyone else's but were real and they did not appear to be a natural phenomena.

8:52And I'm reading declassified documents through, you know, many years of FOIA declassification that were saying this, like, doesn't look like it's ours, sir. Doesn't look like it's theirs, sir. They're oversensitive installations at speeds and altitudes that we can't match. Well, you know, you read enough of those. I started to think there's something going on here. And I just kept going. And so out of that, I wrote my first book, published that in 2000, which was called UFOs in the National Security State. And that was, I will say it was one of the really first genuine historical narratives of the UFO subject that tried to handle this in an intellectually responsible way.

9:37And basically just lay out the story of like what happened, then what happened, then what happened. From a UFO sightings point of view, a political point of view, military point of view, you know all of that and um and that that got me off that got me off to the subject rather starting in 2000 and i've done it ever since you probably got more questions now than you did back then when you started in many ways yeah because when i started i i was really simple i i tried to be very simple about it uh i would i would actually say to myself i don't really care what i think about this i only care what the historical figures think about it and i just want to record that objectively.

10:18And I would also say things like, well, I'll write about this UFO cover-up, but I don't want to get into any weird stuff. I don't want to talk about abductions, crop circles, the hell with that, or any other weird aspect of UFO. I wanted to keep UFOs in a nice little rational box, basically. Well, that worked for about five minutes because this subject just does not easily allow for that. But I really tried actually for quite a while. I tried to do all of that. But what I learned is that there is this thing they called high strangeness in the field. That was a term coined a long time ago. And it's legit.

11:01There are many encounters that people would have, civilians, military, doesn't matter, where it would almost be like they entered the Land of Oz, like some strange kind of space-time weirdness would happen to them. And so there was that strangeness. And then, you know, you would hear stories through the years of people saying, well, I heard them speak to me in my mind. And at first you think, well, that's just a crazy person talking. But you would get this enough times, I start to wonder what's actually going on there. And so on and on. Like there's just things about this subject that don't fit into a neat little box.

11:43Wish it did, but it doesn't. And so, yeah, I've got way many more questions now. But it's more fun in some ways now because I personally, I enjoy speculating. I'll never pretend that I have all of the full answers, but I sure as hell enjoy studying the data and then doing my best to just extrapolate. Like, what do I think it means? I started doing that maybe in the last decade. I thought, I've studied this long enough. I have a good base of knowledge of case history and all the other stuff relating to this subject. So why not, you know, Richard, you just start thinking this out and like, don't be afraid to speculate.

12:26There's no crime there. As long as I know I'm speculating, yeah, throw it out there. Let's see if anything sticks to the walk. Well, looking at some of your YouTube videos, you do a good job of speaking very logically and rationally and not necessarily taking one side or trying to, I don't know, give evidence for what it is that you want to be true. I feel like you're quite neutral. I would imagine you would like to think that aliens do exist, but you also talk about how there's two sides to the story. Yeah, yeah. I try to do that. I mean, no one's perfect at it. I'm definitely not. I've got my own biases.

13:17I do believe realistically that when I look at the sum total of all of the activity, there's someone here. They're not us. I believe that. I believe that there's an active, highly sophisticated intelligence that is operating in our world, and they've got a lot going on. They're very engaged in what they do. They do not wish to communicate with us on a regular basis. They've got their own thing going on. They are aware that we are aware of them, all of that. They see us seeing them. We see them seeing us seeing them. like all of that happens we're all doing this little dance uh and pretending that you know none of it's real but i i definitely have theories about that on the other hand uh i i try to recognize the limits of what i know uh the other thing i try to do is like i don't i try i don't always succeed here but i try not to chase after active headlines in this field there's always some new thing, some new bombshell coming out, new this, new that.

14:24And it reminds me a lot of just like all the other kind of noise we have on the internet right from the beginning. There's always noise. There's always arguments. There's always fights. And I realized even back in the 90s that if I were to get engaged in online fighting with other people, I would never get a single thing done ever. And it's kind of the same with chasing headlines today. I don't want to just chase this headline, that headline, this headline. So I've got my work to do. I've got my books to write. I've got my ideas to develop. And if I end up being wrong about what I think, well, I don't really care that much, to be honest with you.

15:04I'm just out here trying to satisfy my curiosity. But I want to satisfy my curiosity, not someone else's. So I try to be self-directed in my work to the extent that that's possible. And I enjoy it. Like I actually feel so lucky that I get to study. I mean, honestly, one of the most fascinating subjects that you could think about, like aliens. Let's be real. It's a very interesting subject. Whether people think aliens on earth are real or not, it's fascinating. And it's a rabbit hole that's just, I've never, I've never escaped it now for over 30 years. So I enjoy it. And I don't, I don't obsess over whether I'm right or wrong about things too many times.

15:50I try to be right, but you know, it's just, it's, it's an intellectual wild ride that I love. Time will tell. Yes. And I may not, I'm sure by the time I'm, I'm ready to check out of this mortal coil, I won't have all of my answers yet, but that's okay too. Yeah. when you when you talk about these uh beings that are living amongst us do you think that they have come from another place and they arrived at a certain point in time or do you think that they've always been here but they've just been hiding a little bit of both

16:32yeah a little bit of both i would say um i i mean for a long time i i took the same assumption like once i became a believer uh in this i i i adopted some of the conventions that other people just like you hear all the time like you commonly hear people say things like oh they've been here forever. They've always been here. The Anunnaki, the ancient god, whatever. And I thought, okay, well, that could be. And I remembered looking at, I mean, I'm fascinated by ancient history and ancient prehistory. It's a very big, big interest of mine. And I thought, well, there's probably good reason to think they've been here forever.

17:22I still think that, but I have to say about a decade ago i really started my own deep dive into ancient history and prehistory and specifically because i wanted because i've been on the tv show ancient aliens i thought what the hell i should know a little more about this so i i really wanted to know is there a hole big enough in our ancient history to allow for ancient aliens the great pyramid is that was that evidence of them or any of the other archaeological, you can call them anomalies, or the claims that we've been genetically modified, this and that. And I just looked into it. And I haven't yet really seen anything that makes me think, yeah, they've definitely been here modifying us all along.

18:07I'm just not, I'm not really on board. Some people in the UFO field have actually gotten mad at me because I don't, I don't sign on. They get frustrated like, Richard, how can you, how can you say that? But what I do think is that there is reasonable evidence to show that they have been watching us for a long time, but kind of hands off. And I only say that because, again, some people will agree or not agree. I have studied pretty much all of the ancient UFO reports that are available. I'm a huge fan. There's a great book out on this called Wonders in the Sky by Chris Aubeck and Jacques Ballet.

18:44And I love that book. And it covers, it's a very good treatment of ancient UFO sightings going way back. But I will just say, when I read that, I think, okay, A, the sightings that they've collected in ancient times are very few and far between. You could expect that. We weren't very literate. We weren't really taking records. On the other hand, people were outdoors all the time, way more than we are. They were looking at the sky way more than we do. And the fact is, it's very rare to find, A, there's no sense in ancient literature at all that they regularly were noting, you know, visitors in the skies.

19:28They didn't have UFO literature that has come down to us. B, when you look at the sightings, frankly, most of them, I think, are explainable in astronomical terms, meteorites and things like that. But even the ones that are really interesting, and there are some, there's just not that many of them. There's just really not that many of them. I mean, we really overestimate the density of good quality UFO sightings that are pre-modern. There's a few. And there's enough for me to make me think we could very well have been monitored. But I draw the line there. What I do think, though, is that during the modern era, especially starting in the 19th century and then from World War II onward, UFO sightings explode.

20:22Now, again, people will say, well, we just started noticing them and our capabilities improved. Yes and yes. But people in the 19th century had good technology. They actually did. They were outside looking up at the sky. And there are a couple of interesting sightings that occurred, yes. But there were many, many years where no one noticed a single damn thing. And I really think that something happened. Something was triggered in our modern period. And I think that something was the fact that we stepped into the modern technological era. And we got the attention of a society that is advanced enough to be able to detect us in real time.

21:04and figured out a way to get here. Maybe they tunneled and manufactured a wormhole. Maybe they, I don't know what they did. I don't have all the science. But what I do know is that starting in the 19th century, good rationally reported UFO sightings and USO sightings started to increase. And then by the mid 20th century, it was through the roof and it was worldwide and really inexplicable. and dense. And so there's a qualitative difference there. And so I think that what happened is that there are two things that have drawn extraterrestrial visitors here. And I do think extraterrestrial is the most reasonable hypothesis to me.

21:51One is probably Earth itself. We have an amazing planet. We have, you know, rare liquid oceans along with land. We have oceans and land. We're in this perfect, perfect zone. It's very delicate. You just turn the knob this way or that and it all goes away. But we're in this perfect zone where we've got this unbelievable density of genetic diversity and an environmental explosion of life. It's incredible. I mean, there may be planets with life here and there, maybe scratching it out. We have an amazing ecosystem. So there's that. And you would think any advanced society that finds it would be interested in just checking it, mapping the ocean currents or checking the coastlines or just like checking out the planet, looking at the life forms.

22:43But then the other reason I think they're here is us. We're like them. We're rational. We engage in abstract symbolic thinking. We do mathematics. We do mathematics. You know, all of these things that they can recognize as a young adolescent society on the go. What we've really learned to do, the reason we're mostly like them, is that we, like them, have learned to manage information and data, and to manage it and to manipulate our world with it, and become the apex predators of this planet. I'll guarantee you, any other advanced alien species that could visit here did the same. They became the apex predators of their world.

23:25and they did it the same way we did it by learning to manipulate by understanding that we live in an informational universe and to manipulate that information for their own power and benefit which is what we do and so they would see okay they're they're doing what we do they're on the same exponential uh graph look at us i mean we've had science for like 200 years maybe maybe 300 if you want to be generous, that's not a long time. That's the snap of a finger cosmically. And in that short period of time, we've now sent probes that have left the solar system. And we have handheld supercomputers.

24:04And I'm talking to you across an ocean. Those are things we can do that are just incredible. And so they see that. They see that we're about to leap into their world, I suspect, or that we might. But they also see that we're highly volatile, very unstable unstable in our own infrastructure unstable in the fact that we're just constantly behind our own walls peering at the enemy with our own weapons uh constantly in a state of warfare and i don't even say that to dis on humanity it's just what we are so they see all of that they see that we basically create fictions uh that within which we live in our bubbled universes and that we lie to ourselves about reality basically every day like they can probably see all of that so they're like hmm these interest these humans are interesting but they also they also can't really handle us like we can't handle aliens i'll guarantee any advanced alien yeah it's like what what if what if they have uh even 10 more of a of cognitive capacity than we do.

25:16Let me compare us to our early human ancestors of one million years ago. Let's go back one million years to what we would call Homo erectus. So they're standing up. They have bodies kind of like us, way stronger. But their cognitive capacity was less than ours. They probably had proto-language, but they didn't have the kind of language you and I have where we can talk and have these complex ideas. So what would we be able to, if we went back to see those people, to speak to them, what could we tell them about really anything? And the answer is we couldn't. It would not be possible to have a genuine relationship with them because they don't have our cognitive capability.

25:59They can't think in terms of complex ideas one after the other with the speed that we can. We'd be way ahead of them. They couldn't play chess. They couldn't do these things. So now you compare us to other beings that would have probably a gap that could be greater than what we have with our ancestors. And they might be thinking, how the hell could we talk about space and time with these people? They don't have an understanding of it. Or, you know, causality, like where we can hold several things in our mind at once. What if they can hold hundreds or thousands? It's like you really wouldn't be able to relate to them or they could really wouldn't be able to relate to us.

26:44So I just suspect this is why like they never communicate. it's their actions with with our militaries which i've been studying this a lot because i'm i'm in the middle of doing a multi-volume history of usos unidentified submerged objects so i'm actually studying and tracking their behavior with our naval warships or the the soviet russian naval warships no difference there they they don't openly attack but they track they monitor they uh They will disable these ships electromagnetically when they want. It's like they're testing. They're testing the systems. They're testing our reactions. But they're also not overtly engaging.

27:29And then they back away and then they go. And it's a pattern that goes over and over again. So I really suspect they've decided there's no way we're going to communicate with these humans. They can't communicate with us. We can't communicate with them. So we're just not going to step on the flowers in the garden. We're going to stay back. And plus they're too volatile. We're just going to do our thing. Now, the real question is, what is that thing? You know, that's always the great question. And that could be good. That could be bad. That could be something that has nothing to do with us. But it's fun to speculate.

28:08It's interesting to speculate. And it's actually important to speculate because you think about it. So if I am right that there is a substantial presence of other from wherever they are, highly advanced, engaged in a major operation that they will not share with us, well, I think we would want to know what that is. So I think it's important to ask these questions like, who are they and what are they here for? And by the way, relating to the ancient aliens question, how long have they been here? It really matters what the answer to that is. So it's something that you should never just gloss over and say, oh, they've been here forever.

28:56Just like, you got to ask yourself, what is the real evidence that they have been here forever, for real? Because there's a big difference if they've been here forever or if they just got here. Those are two very different things. so was there one group that's been here low level monitoring for a long period of time that's that that's one thing but what happened what happened in the mid 19 in the 1940s and 50s that caused us to explode and we really need to understand that uh if we're if we want to get a handle on who these who these people are these beings are and why they're here so in the 1940s this was around this is the roswell area 51 why do you think that there was so many sightings or activity around that area is it is was there a crash there like what is your thoughts on what actually happened i think that there actually were were multiple yeah okay so i'll take this one at a time i think i think the second world war uh very likely from the perspective of any observing intelligence and i do think that by the time the 1940s started that there's really good reason to think that there had been a presence here for at least a little while so then they see the second world war happen it's like holy crap like you know tens of millions of people getting killed, not just the atomic bombs at the end of the world, but we developed radar, we developed the proximity fuse for weapons, and a lot of other amazing tech, right?

30:43All of that happened during the Second World War. We developed aircraft carriers where we militarized the ocean lanes, and we had massive aerial bombing campaigns for the first time ever. All of these new things happened during the Second World War, where you could see, if you're observing intelligence, that these humans, okay, they have really gone to a way higher and more dangerous level. This is now serious. So I suspect, and then, you know, the beginnings of practical computers were really starting then as well. Like all of this was starting to happen. So I really believe like that triggered a policy among someone for them to think, all right, we need, we're going to be actively engaged now because things are happening here, but we can't, we can't interact with the locals.

31:34Is what I think. But having said that, yes, I think the Roswell crash was legit. And I suspect there were a few others from that period of time. There's actually a number of pretty well, let's say reasonably well researched crash retrievals of ufos from the 1940s that uh i i tend to think probably happened so there was a few now why there was multiple ones i don't have an answer to um maybe they were getting their own you would have thought that the because their tech is so advanced that surely them crashing wouldn't make any sense like it yeah but you could use that same argument let's say we we were time travelers back uh you know we took our our commercial aircraft back in time we have we have we have aircraft crashes and that technology is incredibly advanced to ancient people.

32:36They could look at our airplane or helicopter tech and say, holy crap, you are so good at doing this. Clearly, you have worked out all of your safety features and you're never going to crash. But we do crash. We have mishaps, despite the fact that we have incredibly advanced technology by the standards of earlier civilizations. so i don't think the analogy should be any different when we look at uh presumably alien advanced technology why wouldn't they why wouldn't they have mistakes why wouldn't they have mishaps we tend to think that they're perfect but maybe they're not perfect maybe they're just really really advanced and maybe what they're doing is very difficult as well and it might involve some crashes so i don't i really don't find that um argument all that persuasive personally um was There's another theory that all the bomb testing that we were doing could have scrambled their hardware or whatever type that they're using.

33:39You know, from 1945 until the end of the 20th century, planet Earth experienced over 2 ,000 nuclear detonations. 2 ,000 and change. It was an unbelievable amount. We were constantly doing this. And there is at least one story that I got directly from a retired Navy guy from 1962 when the United States was doing a massive number of nuclear detonations at that time in that year. and uh he said uh yeah every time we would do a detonation out there in the pacific we would have bogeys out there all the time that would always disappear just before the detonation except on one occasion he said to me which was late october 1962 during the time of the cuban missile crisis but this is another part of the world and he said um one of them apparently didn't get out in time and it came down and we tried to get it but we failed that's a whole interesting story.

34:39I think it's true. But yeah, this idea about them being interested in nukes, I think is absolutely true. There's a lot of, there was even a very good statistical study done on this by a researcher a number of years ago, Donald Johnson, about this. But essentially, that showed a very high correlation between these objects and nuclear power facilities or nuclear weapon facilities or things like uranium mines that would be related to nuclear technology and things like that there's a very very strong level of interest and yeah that why why wouldn't that be the case i mean nuclear technology is one of the most advanced things that we have it's certainly very potent and dangerous and all of that and you would think they'd be interested in checking that out what do you think would happen again another hypothetical situation if for whatever reason there was about to be another world war and two countries were about to file to fire their nuclear missiles do you think they would intervene and prevent that from happening or do you think they would just let nature run its course i used to i don't know i mean for a a long time i i thought maybe they would uh i don't think so i i think we're on our own i think we're i think we're on our own except though the one thing that they'd have to worry about is not us they'd have to worry about themselves they have their own infrastructure here i think like they're here they're they're on this world and so they got to be thinking we have our base headquarters here, take your pick, in the Puerto Rico trench or inside this mountain in Alaska or wherever.

36:36Are we at risk if these humans actually do the unthinkable and have a nuclear war? What's our liability? I bet they're probably thinking that. But as far as stopping us, I have just never seen any indication in any claims of witnesses or more importantly, in the behavior of the craft as we can study it with 80 plus years worth of pretty well recorded data now. I just haven't seen any evidence that they are going to be that interactive. Hmm. There have been a couple of instances. I mean, many people know the famous 1967 case at Malmstrom Air Force Base, you know, up there in Montana and where a number of nuclear missile launch complex nuclear launch facilities were disabled.

37:35The missiles went offline. No reason offered. There was no technical explanation why they should have gone offline, except for the fact that there was a huge red glowing UFO over the facility when those missiles went offline. And all the guys on the base were reporting. It was like, yeah, there's this big red glowing thing. Holy shit. And then bing, bing, bing, all the missiles go offline. So does that mean the aliens were worried about our missiles? Well, why that one time? Well, there's probably been other times. The Russians have a story from the Cold War in which, is it true, is it not true?

38:11But it has been out for years that the reverse happened where they actually turned on a missile and put it into launch mode. and they had to go through emergency procedures to shut it down because otherwise there was going to be World War III. So now, is that true? Well, a lot of the Soviet stories are hard to gauge because, A, it was a very bad idea for most of the Soviet history to talk about UFOs. You could lose your career or maybe worse. So it was all underground, and no one was really recording this openly. but there were means by which soviet researchers were recording data when the cold war ended in the in the 1990s a lot of those stories came out to us and that's one of them so i i think there's an interest in nukes but are they honestly here to save us uh i think i think it would be very hard to do that like how would you really i'm sorry i don't want to keep talking i was gonna say i think they probably just care about themselves more than anything that would be rational uh i mean they could see that we humans and earth are perhaps rare enough that we would be worth studying and maybe on a good day worth, like maybe worth preserving.

39:42Like Earth definitely would be seen as worth preserving, I would think. And humans too, like we're, like I say, I think we're like them enough that they would think, all right, well, maybe we can work with these people. But how far would they go is really the question. And I also tend to think that they would act first and foremost for their interests. Why wouldn't they? And then also to get involved in like one word from them, one official word from an alien civilization would like we here on this planet, we would a we would absolutely politicize it. Whatever they say would be taken by one faction against another faction.

40:25Like you just know this would happen. Like we would not be unified in the face of an open alien presence. I think quite the opposite. Remember the old Ronald Reagan used to say, more than one time, he used to call it his fantasy. He would say, well, I believe that if we were faced by an outside alien threat, that we humans would join together. He used to say this. And actually, I don't think that would happen. I think that we would probably start arguing like, they're good. No, they're evil. They're this. They're that. And all of our political ideologies would probably just get amped up over that.

41:05So I think they're looking at this thinking, if we say even a single word to these people, it's just going to make things worse. A, they would never be able to understand us in any meaningful way by our standards. B, it would totally screw with their development. like whatever we're doing i mean you could almost say it's it's um this is where i kind of do like the idea of star trek's prime directive like there's a certain i would i would like to think that if there's if there's any one thing that was ever true about star trek it would be that because i can't imagine a worse thing to do to a a conscious developing civilization than to impose and screw with its development in some unnatural way like that.

41:56Could we imagine doing that to human ancestors of a million years ago? It would be the worst thing. You have to let them develop the way they need to develop. You can't just impose your will over them. It's like a violation. Imagine the uncontacted tribes. if we just uh flew a load of drones over their village and like turned the drones into the shape of a face and did all this other things we would just confuse them and then they would probably think oh well that's god but really it's just messing around with drones well that's that's the old cargo cult uh phenomenon which is a real thing like you know this happened you know i think it was a tribe in south america or or no some other part of the world where we accidentally dropped some cargo uh on their land and on their property on their territory and they started worshiping uh the aircraft as gods and they started worshiping like the cargo cult that's that's real we totally screwed with those people yeah do you think that them reaching out or showing themselves would cause absolute chaos or do you think that people would turn more to religion and there would be i don't know a more positive world i wonder about this a lot one thing that i've often thought is like all right so let's just say a a genuine honest disclosure, as we all like to talk about, like an acknowledgement by the U.S.

43:41government. So that would come now from Donald Trump. So you got half the world that would be like, oh, I don't believe anything he says. The other half would be like, yeah, that's great. But put that aside. So let's just pretend. And by the way, you'd get the divide no matter who's leading the country. I mean, it doesn't matter, right? But let's just say that it comes out and we now, or they show themselves, like you were saying. I've got to think a lot of people would come to realize, A, they're totally not prepared. Nothing in our culture really prepared us for this. I mean, some goofy pop movies that are like in no way serious and no way really prepares.

44:29So we don't really have an understanding. And then you realize, let's say they have an IQ of, I don't know, 500. And let's say they have some kind of hive mentality where if they ask a question, the hive answers, like they're all plugged in. So they're just operating on levels and levels beyond us, you've got to think there'd be a number of people on this planet be thinking, holy crap, I've just wasted my entire life watching television, following football. I mean, not that football's bad, but just like we do all of these things that basically we're just wasting our lives to prevent ourselves from actually thinking about anything important.

45:10We just do all this busy work. And so I have to think a lot of people would have this existential moment where they're like, oh, crap. I'm 50 years old and I haven't done a thing with myself. And how could I ever? Like, I just, I think that could happen. So there would be that. But the real thing I think that would happen, it would be a, you know, I mean, I've gone through this so many times, I don't even know where to begin. So I could imagine, I used to imagine that if there was this moment of truth, that people would be thinking, holy crap, it's real. The government's been lying to us for 80 plus years.

45:56How have you lied? How have you undermined our media institutions, our political institutions, our educational institutions, to ridicule this for all this time when you knew that it was true. Like, I used to think that when that came out, we would have this moment where we would then question every single thing that the government tells us. In fact, that was the theme of one of my books, A.D. After Disclosure, which I co-authored. And I really, this is back in 2010 when we published it. And I was thinking, you know, if if we're to come out, it could cause a cascade of all kinds of other questions about the government, like 9-11.

46:40I'm I'm I'm one of those people. I believe in a 9-11 conspiracy. I don't mind saying it. JFK or or now COVID, you know, like people would think, OK, you lied about this. You lied about UFOs. What have you not lied about? Now, I don't know if people actually would do that. some people would like you would your audience would and and hopefully my audience would but like uh i think a lot of people wouldn't so i think a lot of people would just stay very very much uh under control of the narrative that is foisted on them so what kind of changes would happen i think it would obviously be a huge massive psychological change in the long run but would it be one that that causes us to increase our intellectual freedom and sovereignty or one that would that would further enslave it to a technocratic system that is clearly obviously coming into play all around us and I tend to think at the latter I tend to think that actually we're we're kind of inexorably moving in toward a kind of post-modern post-human technocratic system that um i actually honestly think i don't know how much agency we really have in in changing what's coming ahead so um could very well be that a disclosure comes with a kind of totalitarian moment like that could totally happen it's weird because i i would have originally thought like how frustrating and annoying it is that they're not telling us anything but then as i've got older i've thought about well maybe the information that they do hold is probably best just kept to themselves for now because if it were released to the masses it would actually just cause chaos and people wouldn't know what to do with the information that's given to them yeah it's like here's the thing in the last 200 years we have called ourselves democratic.

48:56Like this is our governing ideology. Everyone in the world, power to the people. We have elections. We tell ourselves. But in reality, of course, it has always been that the few manage the many. It's never been any different, not ever. Anytime you've had a complex society, you've had an elite at the top of the pyramid hierarchy. It's never been any different. But now we're the United States forms and in a very unique historical social moment where the American colonists actually were very naturally democratic by the very nature of the land that they were on and by the society that they had. It was a unique historical moment that where democracy actually made sense.

49:52Democracy in a sense of, you know, broad-based power to the people so that they could conquer an entire continent. Like that's what America was. So we created this democratic ideology that spread to the rest of the world. Okay, great. And of course, I want to give credit where it's due. The English people had a lot to do with developing that ideology as well. But it's created and it spreads. And now everyone's a Democrat or everyone's a Republican. We're all, we believe in power and government of the people. But the reality is all that that's done is it's given us a very, very dishonest society, you know, where we don't really understand ourselves.

50:31And what I mean is we get angry all the time that society isn't as democratic as we want it to be because we tell ourselves, well, it should be democratic because we believe in power to the people. Yeah, but the reality is all that it's done is it's forced the elites to game the system so that they keep getting what they want. If you're one of the people at the very top, you're like, okay, crap, now they've got this democracy. Well, okay, so here's what we'll do. We'll go into the media, we'll brainwash the people through this, we'll program them through that, and we'll get them to believe what we want them to believe, and we'll stage manage the major political party, you know, all of that.

51:08And that's what they do. That's the system, because that is how the few must always manage the many. They've got to do it. But what that does is it creates an inherently dishonest system where we lie to ourselves all the time about what we actually are. And so we don't really, I don't know how I got onto this whole thing. Forgive me. There was a reason. But we really don't understand the kind of society we have, which is a technocratic society. and and it probably i mean my instincts are also democratic don't get me wrong uh i i grew up believing in this as well and i still believe in i still believe in power to the people but realistically when i look at how our society is structured it's all hierarchical i mean you work for a corporation there's they don't have democracy there it's all very structured and they they spy on their people they read their emails it's it's very orwellian in many of these uh corporate you know societies so um we don't we don't really have what we think we have or what we tell ourselves we have anyway um and because of that it really unfortunately creates a deep lack of self-understanding of our of our very system and we really we really need to understand what what we're working with as a society and in terms of governance but you have to forgive me because i actually don't know how i got onto this topic there was a reason i can't i can't remember the reason just a quick one guys we have an offer running on the thirst app right now and for those who don't know this is an app which i built to give you everything that you could possibly need in order to get yourself in shape so this is everything which i've learned over the past 18 years of training, speaking to all of the experts and coaching thousands of clients.

53:05Since the launch of the app, we've helped over a hundred thousand people to get one step closer to achieving their goals. So those people no longer were wasting time in the gym, trying to figure out what exercises they should be doing, how many reps, how many sets, when they should rest, what meal plan they should be following that's going to be best suited for them. No more of that. For less than the price of one PT session, you can get access to over hundreds of programs to help you build strength, power and size, along with meal plans to help you build muscle, lose fat and optimize your health and well-being, whilst also allowing you to have some degree of flexibility in your life.

53:38So now's the time to get in shape, make it easier for yourself with a system that actually works with minimal input and the absolute maximum output. Let's get into the video. You know, it's actually got to the point now where if there was this major announcement saying that they are real and it was on the news outlets or mainstream media i just i don't think i would believe it to be honest because i'd be like well why why are you saying this now like what what's the reason behind it what is there something else happening is this a distraction i feel like i would i would have to see it with my own eyes or well you you'd probably be right yeah i would have to listen to the people who i know and trust like people like yourselves well thank you uh i hoped not to not to blow that trust but the thing is there's a lot of there's a lot in there what you just said that's a very like that's a deep statement because uh a lot of individuals a lot of people feel this way and and that's good and it's also not good.

54:48So here's the part that I think is not good. I find very weird. I find surreal. So we're all at the point now where like I was at this point 30 years ago where I really did not believe. Like I knew, you know, back in the 80s, I was reading guys like Noam Chomsky who was educating me on media manipulation and necessary illusions, as he called it in one book. I was a big fan, big fan of Noam Chomsky back in those days. And I realized like there is, we live in a propaganda world. So, of course, that didn't mean I didn't get sucked in by it because I did many times. But like now we're at a point in our society where we're kind of trained not to believe anything that comes out of the establishment for good reason.

55:34But what's weird is like, there's a lot of very smart podcasters and folks out there who like, Thank you. Because they think that the US government is acknowledging UFOs to a limited degree that the whole alien thing must be a ruse and that there aren't real aliens. They just want us to believe in aliens and that it's all some kind of black ops happening. And I've come across this. And I think, okay, so you really, you haven't studied any of this history at all because what we had for 70 plus years is the United States government denying, denying, denying all any evidence of UFOs at all. They just went into straight denial mode, despite the fact that there was a tremendous amount of overwhelming evidence of all kinds of military encounters with these objects, civilian encounters with these objects worldwide.

56:36Like, I looked at it, the evidence is overwhelming, in my opinion, that UFOs are real and they are not ours. And then suddenly, now we're in an era where there's such a distrust in the establishment and again warranted that when we get any kind of positive spin on ufos as et people like oh it's got to be it's got to be bs and it's just like oh man like what what what's a girl got to do i don't really know what can we do so uh on the other hand i would say this for sure uh if there ever is a u.s government or any like major government acknowledgement but especially united states a u.s government acknowledgement of the reality of ets and ufos which has not happened yet but if it were to happen i would be suspicious because i could guarantee you there could be truth in what they say and they would certainly be papering over all kinds of other things that they don't want us to know like That's what happens.

57:44If the UFO reality is a big mountain and their disclosure comes, that disclosure would be like this tiniest little sliver of the mountain. And it would be the sliver that serves their interests best. It would be the sliver that makes them think, okay, I need the U.S. government to protect me. I need the government to, you know, we have to support them now in this. uh they would that's what they would do because that's that's what they would see as their job is to manage the public so they might give a little bit of truth it's not impossible it's probably likely that they would have to give some truth up but they i guarantee you they would be hiding and deceiving every bit as much if not more than uh what they're revealing it seems to be quite strange the way that they are revealing it it's like they're giving us like little little bits it's like they're not telling us everything it's a fight it's a battle so there's not there's no unified united states government on this matter that's the one thing we have to understand this uh this is essential to understand that the labyrinthian byzantine bureaucracy that is the united states national security community is riven with factions and distrust and differences of opinion, as it has always been.

59:05It was that way back in the 1950s. And we know this. We've got various insider accounts dealing with the UFO, flying saucer mystery, as they called it then. And we knew that there were differences of opinion going way, way up the food chain in the military and in the intelligence community. And it's the same now. And so now you have a number of government or quasi-government people, Luis Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, David Grush now more recently, and many others. So is that the same as government disclosure? And the answer is no, it is not. These are individuals within a faction of that establishment, and they are definitely part of that establishment, but they're a faction in the establishment that for their reasons, believe in more openness on this subject.

59:57That doesn't mean that they all believe in total disclosure, by the way. I don't, I suspect they don't, but, but they believe in some level of, of openness. Like that's a, that's a genuine legit faction within the national security community. But on the other side of it, there is still a massive number of the old guard, we can call them that are like, no freaking way are we going to allow this out because this is way too destabilizing. We are absolutely not letting this happen. And we will use the mainstream media every freaking inch of a way to stop this. So that's what's happening. So there are, you know, there are statements that come out.

1:00:36They're trying to get congressional hearings and Congress to do these things. But Congress has really found itself very limited with what they're able to do as well. and that is because you've got uh you've got some people that are that are pushing for this but you have a lot of other people that are putting out the big red stop sign and they're just not letting it happen so that's that's why i believe uh we see these like little little bit here but then then it gets rewound we see a little bit here and then and then nothing uh because this has not fully played out they like they will make appearances on podcasts or they will do their speeches and you know the host would ask them further questions and they say oh no i can't say any more about that or i can't delve too much into this but i can say this but i can't say that and it's like well yeah who's telling you what you can and can't say and what will the consequences be if you truly did tell us everything that you knew like what's gonna happen are you gonna are they gonna shoot you are you gonna go after your family or what's happening i think there's a lot there are people i think are very afraid of this uh they've you know they've had their security clearances i mean this is not a world that i have personal experience with i've never been in the military i'm not i've never ever been connected with any part of the united states government ever.

1:02:05And so I've never had security clearances. I've never gone through that. I don't have that as part of my reality. But I do know like those people who are who have done that, that is a big, big thing for them. And they take it very seriously. And, you know, it's it's part of a very powerful culture that they live within that like this is there's a code of honor, absolutely real. But there's also the fear of penalties. And they just, they're terrified. There are so many UFO encounters that I have read on various blog sites or reporting sites. And often there'll be some military guy who will say, well, this happened to me 30 years ago.

1:02:52I'm only talking about it now because I'm toward the end of my life and I just think this information go out, but I still don't want to give up my name because I have a family to think about. Like people say this. So there's definitely fear for a lot of these individuals that if they talk, there could be very negative repercussions, whatever those might be. That's a very big incentive to keep your mouth shut. So it's tricky. You know, again, we live in this very, it's all of these contradictions. We call ourselves democratic, but really what we are is intensely hierarchical, intensely technocratic, and a lot of rules and regulations.

1:03:32And you do not violate those rules or you're going to be in big trouble. And I have a good friend. He's a brilliant individual, but he gets very angry. We've had personal conversation. He's really mad that some of these folks within the classified world don't just spill the beans and tell the world what they know.

1:03:57But I honestly think it's just it's not realistic to expect them to do that unless they have absolute surety of protection and they don't have that. yeah you you've either got to be earning so much money that you could hire your own personal security team working 24 7 or just have balls of steel yeah you just really don't you don't give a fuck like you literally just don't care yes but that's hard to find people like that yes some of them i don't know i like david grush do that yeah no i i don't know if i could either actually i I don't know. I've not been in that situation. A guy like David Grush, who testified a couple of years ago, I think, really brave.

1:04:42Really brave. And any of these other people who've come forward in recent years, very brave. We're lucky to have these people. But there's still, for every one of those, there's dozens more who they're just like, no, I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to talk about it. It's really tough. whether or not we're really going to have disclosure. You know, when 2017 happened, when the New York Times published those couple of articles, one was on the Tic Tac UFO encounter back in 2004. It was a great encounter, famous now. Like it really, there were people back then thinking, oh my God, is this disclosure?

1:05:24Shocked me. I mean, I was totally blown away by those articles myself. I wasn't expecting them. So, but we're not in a disclosure moment We're in a place where more and more toothpaste is coming out of the tube And it won't go back into the tube

1:05:45But as we're seeing, the defense, if we can put it that way Has been able to give up a little bit of the field But they are still playing very, very, very good defense and they've had a lot of fallback positions. So in other words, we find out, okay, the military does have UFO encounters. You know, the 2004 Nimitz encounter, the Tic Tac UFO. Like, oh, wow, that was real. But there's still, I mean, it's amazing. It's been eight years since we've had that story come out publicly. And the government is still able to spin this by saying, well we don't know what that was they they still have not felt obligated to say that wasn't ours that was technological and it wasn't ours like they've not done that um so like that's really kind of impressive like when i i wrote a book on this in 2010 i i just have to say like i thought if some big thing like that were to be revealed it would cause an avalanche of like like this is undeniable and the government's now got to come clean and they didn't come clean after that story came out maybe that's not the best story but you would think it could have happened but it didn't a lot a lot of people have kind of just moved on from it and not really questioned it anymore i find it baffling how it's like how do we still not know what that was like why is that like getting over their lives and like oh that was weird anyway back to uh back to social media yeah right doom scrolling and oh look at that person's hairstyle and like you know whatever like it's just crazy yeah that's that's our world i mean i would have thought that that story could have caused a kind of snowball effect and it did not happen um it just didn't happen it's like well what are the candidates here in 2004 not the chinese like not even remotely the chinese and also not even remotely the russians in 2004 not a chance not even a snowball's chance and how could the tic-tac have been russian or chinese in 2004 so then you ask is that our own black budget tech well okay so even which i don't think it was but if it was that's so interesting that's like this thing took off fravor's circling around that getting toward it and it just shoots off and it's gone out of his visibility within two seconds giving it a minimum speed of 10 000 miles per hour or higher and like we don't ask like who the hell made that like no one no one has impugned david fravor's integrity or ability to observe like everyone knows that guy is rock solid there has never been even from the staunchest of skeptics no one has dared to attack his ability as an observer or uh the many other individuals who have been interviewed about the nimitz uh tic-tac encounter radar man of the princeton And Kevin Day, who tracked these things for weeks, more than one of them, by the way.

1:09:09And Alex Dietrich, the other pilot of the other aircraft who's been interviewed. And many other individuals have been interviewed about this. Like, you can't really impugn these people. And yet we don't ask the obvious question, what the hell could do that and take off instantly? And looking like a big 40-foot-long Tic Tac, by the way. Where are the follow-up questions from the major media? They absolutely nothing, not not a single genuine. I mean, Tucker Carlson, when he was still with Fox, asked a few good questions. He was about the only one. And he's no longer with that organization. Yeah.

1:09:48So it's a great grave failure of journalistic integrity and responsibility not to follow up on that, because that's an encounter that demands investigation and questions. If it's ours or if it's not ours, either way, it's an amazing thing. And by the way, there were reports, which I tend to believe, of a very, very large object under the water at the same time that that was going on, a submerged object. Yeah, I've seen those videos. It just doesn't... I've really struggled to believe that it is man-made. Me too. The only thing I can think of is if there is this group of individuals who have somehow managed to get their hands on this alien tech and have been able to reverse engineer it, but then realized how powerful this device is, that they then just run off with it.

1:10:51This elite group of people, a handful of people, and then they're just doing everything by themselves. like nothing to do with the government nothing to do with any other countries just this small group of people doing their own thing yeah but then you have to ask well when did they start doing that thing because there are reports very similar to the nimitz encounter going back to the 1940s easy easy and we've got them through declassified documents too indicating their speeds of like 9 000 plus miles per hour there's there's a declassified documents from 1948 49 uh fbi but they're reporting military encounters so they've they had their own channels and they were reporting you know in the areas around los alamos nuclear technology facilities and like of objects traversing at extremely high altitude extremely high speeds this is before we had any satellites or ultra high flying aircraft as well, uh, in the vicinity of major, uh, sensitive military and nuclear installations doing things that were literally impossible by any technology at the time, uh, clustered over high value, uh, installations.

1:12:04So, you know, and of extraordinary capability, performance, evasive maneuvers, and you don't have to believe me, but just, You could just read. There's a fairly good amount of declassified literature that speaks to this. Now, you could argue, well, they misinterpreted their data. But it's not like they were incompetent. They had sophisticated measuring instrumentation back in the 1940s to measure the speeds of aerial objects. They were not doing child's play here. They knew what they were doing. They were very serious about this. It was extended observational periods that were going on. and they're tracking objects moving at extraordinary speeds.

1:12:45What are you supposed to think? So if this was the case back then, why should I think that the Tic Tac case of 2004 is just some one-off? This is part of a long history of sightings of these objects. Many years ago, I was in the Canadian National Archives, about 20 years ago. And I was just going through, like, you know, in Canada, just like in other countries, if you saw a UFO back in the early years, you could write to your government about it. And for many years, Canadians did this. And they went to a place called the National Research Council, which was in Ottawa. And no one ever investigated these ever.

1:13:26But they collected the cases. And you can go to Ottawa and you can read these reports, which I did. So one of them came from an elderly man. He wrote in the early 1980s. And he said, you know, I'll just tell you what happened to me back in 1936 when I was 25 years old, working for the Canadian government, doing aerial mapping in their northern territories. So that's a cool thing about this. You're 25 years old. This is a pretty cool job. You get sent off in a pontoon aircraft Over the Infinite number of lakes in the Northwest territories there Where nobody lives and you're taking Pictures of the terrain and Topography that was his job That's pretty kick ass right so he says I've landed on my craft It's a perfect blue sky above me He mentioned where he was A lake way way Way up in the north there No one lives there not then not now a place called Isle Mer Lake.

1:14:28You can look it up, A-Y-L-M-E-R. Someone can look it up. Utterly remote. He says, I'm landed there, and just for whatever, I was doing a pre-flight check, and I looked up, and I saw, he said, the most perfect configuration of an airship one could imagine. It's 1936. And he described it as just like a Tic Tac, except it wasn't white, it was gunmetal gray. No reflection, no shine, just a little longer than it was wide. And it was rounded on the edges, as far as he could tell. And it was directly above him. He said that the weather was so perfect, I couldn't tell how high up it was. And therefore, I couldn't tell how large it was, but it was right there.

1:15:07And it was in a north-south configuration and he watched it rotate to east-west and then it just shot off like a faster than a speeding bullet off to the east and it was gone. It was instantly gone. But it was directly over him, apparently observing him because like he was the only person in that region for hundreds of miles uh 1936 i i will just say i believe this man's account i read his beautifully written handwritten letter he attached his military service record which was not included because that wasn't in the archives and that was personal information but he did attach his military information when he wrote this letter back in 1982.

1:15:52And I'm thinking, this guy told the truth. There's no question in my mind this guy's telling the truth. So what was that? 1936. The video which you did on the TikToks was really interesting because I thought there was only one sighting of it, and that was the fairly recent one. I didn't know that these similar shapes, these cigar sort of shaped objects were being seen on a regular basis a few of them i think people had described them having windows although they might not have actually been windows they look like windows but that's that was surprising because i thought that a lot of these sightings of crafts or of all different random shapes and sizes a lot of them being flying saucers but apparently the the tic-tac one has been described more than once over a long period of time yeah that's i forgot that i did that video i remember now and um yeah so the tic-tac shape is one that has been recorded for a very long time but there's others like there's different variations on on the theme of these objects obviously there is there are many reports of the kind of classic flying saucer disc-shaped objects.

1:17:10And then, you know, you could distinguish between a Tic Tac and an actual cigar shape, you know, like, because there are craft that are described as cigar shape, which would be like a little longer, like a cigar, I guess, as opposed to a Tic Tac. So, and then, you know, you get kind of the disc with a dome, whether the dome is, you can see through it or not. and then centrally the 1970s in a big way. But even a few earlier, you get triangular craft that were sighted. There are some triangular sightings going back earlier, but they really take off during the 70s. Something new seems to have happened then.

1:17:51So you get a couple of different types of shapes. And then you get just the pure spherical type of craft. Sometimes those spheres are seen as glowing like plasma and you don't know what they are. but sometimes they're not illuminated. And you can see it's an absolute spherical object. That's a type. So you get different kinds. But what would the argument be for them being different? Like you would have thought if it was one alien race that they would surely just be flying the same type of object. You'd think so. Why would? Yeah, you would think so. I don't have an answer to that, so I don't want to dig a hole for myself.

1:18:33But I could imagine, let's say, so they're not using high octane gasoline or petroleum to go from point A to point B. They're doing something different. What is that something? So they're creating maybe a field. We call it field propulsion. So you create a kind of your own cavitation, like a bubble around yourself, a space-time bubble. So if you're able to do that, I mean, I've heard arguments. I don't I can't do that. I'm not technical here, but I've heard people say, well, a disc shaped craft works pretty well. A cigar shaped craft can work very well. There's there's different shapes that can allow you to create this type of field effect.

1:19:16In fact, as I recall now, Luis Elizondo in his book Imminent went into this matter a bit. And in fact, he made a lot of sense when he talked about this, that some of these various shapes would in fact lend themselves to a field propulsive kind of effect. So you could probably have a number of different designs because you don't really necessarily need to be aerodynamic if you can create a field propulsion. But there still might be advantages to certain shapes as opposed to others.

1:19:51So, you know, I mean, I don't have the full answer why. it could be that the shapes reflect the operational needs internal to the ship that would make more sense or it could be that you've got different more than one et or alien faction involved maybe they do their own uh they have their own design design uh preferences i don't know i always find it weird how you know we came up with the invention of the airplane yeah it hasn't really changed a whole lot over the past few decades and at the rate of technology and ai advancing why is physics not advancing at the same rate like surely we would have figured out a way now to travel faster than simply using that basic airplane model with combustion engines yeah i find it weird that we haven't made more of a breakthrough or maybe we have and it's not being disclosed yeah i mean you it's you have a good point part of it i would just say is like we i mentioned uh star trek i think earlier in this conversation i grew up i was born in 1962 62 and I as I grew up in the 60s and 70s and I remember as a little boy holding my mother's hand and we're walking and she looked down at me and she talked to me about progress I was like four years old I didn't know what progress was but it sure sounded great and my mother like everyone in her generation and everyone that I grew up around believed, firmly believed that today is better than yesterday, tomorrow will be better than today, and we're just going to keep going and going and going.

1:21:49You know, this is the time period that gave us the Jetsons and gave us Star Trek and these ideas that we'll just have this infinite progress. But that's not necessarily true. We're on a high-level kind of exponential graph now. That's true. But do you at some point hit a plateau? You mentioned airplanes. Airplanes, I mean, yeah, we've made all kinds of improvements to them. They can go way faster and all of this. But the basic design is the same. Fuselage, wing uh wings in the back and a rudder and it works great like it's it's a great design uh the bicycle you know yeah uh bicycles can go faster than they could 100 plus years ago but it's the same basic design because it works great it's a great fundamental design so um and that's probably i'm sure that's explained by physics you know the physics of aerodynamics and of all of the other sciences, wind resistance, and all these things that experts have to be familiar with.

1:22:55They're just tweaking what works really well. But you're asking about basically a scientific revolution, a paradigm change. So why hasn't that happened? Well, I asked this too. I wondered the same thing. And many, many years ago, I coined a phrase called breakaway civilization. And I was thinking about this i'm like well in the classified world let's say roswell was real and other crash retrievals were real and they're studying this text secretly and they're uh and we can't really fully replicate everything that they do but we came up with a couple of really nifty ideas like here's how you can get uh lift without without using uh you know conventional means and whatever So let's say they get a breakthrough like that in their classified studies.

1:23:50Would they release that to the world? Well, they might think it's a cool idea, but their bosses would say, no, no, no, that stays here. That's too valuable. We're not giving that away. We might segue this into private industry and we could all get in on the ground floor investment and make a lot of money. Yeah, we'll do that. But we're not releasing this important technology to the public. We're keeping that to ourselves and we're going to work off of that. And so that becomes classified because it's too disruptive, but they continue to work on it in the classified world, and they make even more breakthroughs and more breakthroughs.

1:24:23And the next thing you know, they're going off-world. And the next thing you know, they've developed a whole infrastructure that may be off-world. And I thought, is this possible? And I called it a breakaway civilization, one that's broken away from our own. I don't know how far. It's just a theory. It's just an idea. But is it possible? And I think, yeah, it could be possible. So what you're saying could actually be true. There could be a faction that has radically advanced tech, but there's no way they're going to share it. It's giving up too much power and too much influence and probably too much wealth.

1:25:02So now That's if that has happened To some degree I mean clearly we have to assume There's some very advanced technology That's being withheld from us Whether for reasons of pure Greed or greed plus Some vision of public responsibility That they have for themselves It could be a combination People love to tell good stories of themselves So they can sleep at night So But Why hasn't there been that kind of breakthrough you're talking about? Well, we're kind of inching toward it, you know, aren't we? I mean, we now have all kinds of drones that can deliver packages, and we're kind of slowly, very slowly getting to a point where the technology is starting to become revolutionary.

1:25:53I mean, maybe not in transportation, but it's certainly an interconnectivity. They are trying to get flying taxis on the move in Dubai in a couple of years. Yeah. I mean, I would actually not look to the West for leadership in this anymore. I think probably China is way out ahead of everyone in this.

1:26:17And I think the West is kind of getting left behind, to be honest about it. But the rest of the other parts of the world, they may get there before we do. I would look for the Chinese to get there before we do yeah I wanted to discuss one more thing before we wrap up and that is of course 3i Atlas because that is a very hot topic at the moment everyone's talking about it is very close to well I guess where we are right now what are your thoughts on it what is it where does it come from should we be concerned i think we should be interested i think i think three-eye atlas i'm with avi loeb here in the sense that i i support the idea that that object is definitely interesting enough that we should be looking at it carefully because it seems unusual i haven't checked it on the lat in the last few days so i don't know if there's anything new but the last time i checked was less than a week ago.

1:27:23And it was throwing out, was it nickel and another element? In ways and ratios, it did not make any sense to astronomers. Like it was doing things all wrong. And plus the size of it, according to Avi Loeb, it's like 1 million times larger than Uonamua was. And there's something like 20 kilometers in diameter, It's an enormous thing, supposedly, if that's true. There are things about that that are, he calls them anomalistic. Maybe they are. I'm certainly in no position to dispute that. There's certainly a lot of skeptical voices out there saying, there's really no reason to think that it's an anomalous object at this point.

1:28:17We've only noticed three interstellar objects at this point. So how do we even know what to expect? Okay, fine. But I think he pointed out it's coming in basically on our ecliptic, so on the solar system plane. For those of us people who don't know, all of the planets except I think one or two of the outer planets, they're all basically on the same flat disk where they circle around the sun. and this thing's coming in pretty much on that same plane. And you're thinking if it's interstellar, it should be able to come in from any direction, but it's coming in on the plane and it's doing a close flyby of, I think, Jupiter and Mars, right?

1:28:57As it goes through. Well, there could be very good explanations for that, naturally speaking. I mean, I believe that our solar system is on the same ecliptic as the galaxy itself. So maybe you could hypothesize that a lot of interstellar objects would be more likely than not to be coming in on that plane. So there might be a lot of explanations here that are naturalistic. But I think it should be observed. Whether I think we should be afraid, no, I'm way past that. I mean, look, we've had, if you've been in this field for more than a decade, there have been so many objects and comets that people got worked up over.

1:29:40I remember back in 2011, there was a big to-do over a comet known as Elanine. People can look that one up. Oh, my God, what a waste of freaking time. Everyone wasted half the year on this one. Because there were people back then in the UFO community saying that this is a spaceship. It's like, dude, it's not a spaceship. Just calm down. Just calm down. It's not a spaceship. People would write to me, Richard, should I be afraid over Elanine coming? I'm like, do not be afraid. Stop following this story. And it was a comet, you know. And there's for that and there's a bunch of others, a lot of others.

1:30:19People like, we need to get into an underground bunker. It's like, no, just stop. We react so quickly. We get so worked up over every new little thing that comes across our screen. I'm not saying be blase about these things, but we overreact and we react too fast and too instantly. And everyone's got to have a take on this immediately. It's weird for me because I'm not an astronomer. And yet, because I study UFOs, people think I'm supposed to have some special insight about this astronomical object. I don't have any special insight about it. I'm not an astronomer. It's not my thing. I should stay in my lane.

1:31:05I do believe that there are unusual things that come in from some space. And I only think that because I think that because I have personally spoken to people in the classified world who have said this, like they said, like, we know, I know. So NORAD tracked this object. This is in the early 1980s. They came in from deep space and went into orbit around Earth. I believe this person. And so I think that that happens. But whether or not this 3i Atlas, the hell if I know. I'm going to wait. I've got to wait. So I don't like instant reactions to these things. It usually doesn't go well. they don't usually age well when you instantly react no but they get the views that's why everyone is making the videos and reacting to it it's totally true and i mean the infrastructure the youtube or video rumble the infrastructure we have creates this uh constant hyperbole that we're we're kind of in uh yeah i know you don't do this but there's a lot of uh content creators they do because like you know yeah they ought to make a living the the thumbnails and the titles are so dramatic like the everything's a bombshell prepare yourselves it's just like okay that's a little bit extreme but people fall for it yeah i've never i'm not comfortable with it i mean look i write books about ufos i sell books about ufos people can say oh well he's he's a grifter he's trying to make money off of this well yeah i am trying to make money off of this because i'm not do anything else for a living if i can't make a living doing what i do i can't do this and i love this so i got to figure it out so i said i write books so i i want my books to sell yeah so sue me um but what i don't want to do is that i don't ever want to do that i don't want to just like say oh look at this look at this headline and then just to draw people in like i just can't bring myself to do that so that's why i don't really produce nearly as much youtube content as a lot of other people i'll do a video every couple of weeks i'm i'm very i'm like a totally half-assed uh content creator to be honest about it like i i do it i have my wife and i've got one i've got a social media person and they're like you should do a video this because you didn't do one in the last two weeks i'm like ah shit so like that's that's me i gotta twist my arm so i'll probably make one that's weak because i haven't made one in a little while but it's not going to be on three eye atlas i'm like i'm not doing that one i've already talked about it like what am i supposed to say like that's going to be insightful like i've got not i got nothing else i gave you i gave you everything i got i i watched obviously i watched a few of those videos because curious and everyone was just saying the same thing nobody had any answers and it was just the same the same thing over and over again i was like okay it's like more hot air it's the last thing we need we don't we don't need that so there's like for me i'm i love i love history i love literature one of my favorite writers of my youth was ralph waldo emerson who's a great great American writer of the 19th century.

1:34:33And Emerson at one point, I can't remember where he said this, but he absolutely did. He said, at some point in life, I decided to get rid of my books. I don't want to read anyone else anymore. I want to focus on my own thought processes. I want to be my own man. I want to have my own ideas. And I don't want to be guided or influenced are dominated by someone else's ideas. And I mean, that's kind of an extreme position, but you can really, like that always resonated with me. It's like, yeah, if you really want to have your own thoughts, you can't allow yourself to just follow everyone else. You'd be like bouncing off like a ping pong ball off the walls in a wind tunnel.

1:35:21It's like, and you just go in all of these different directions and you never find your own direction. And for me personally, like I, I want to follow my own direction. I want to, I want to follow the things that are interesting to me. And unfortunate, like for good luck or bad luck, like a lot of the things that I'm interested in, the kind of niche, you know, not everyone's interested. Sometimes people are. So if someone wants to come along for the ride, I'm like, yes, good. We'll have a great time. you know for me i there's a few things in this world that absolutely fascinate me and they go way beyond ufos but within the ufo or uap field i am utterly fascinated by this subject i'm fascinated by the history the the sightings history which is immense and incredible and unless someone has really spent years studying it i'm telling you you cannot appreciate just how incredible and detailed it is unbelievable so that citing history um i'm interested deeply in the politics of the ufo cover-up both within the united states and abroad not internationally fascinating uh and and now i'm interested in in all of the the weird aspects of this subject like abductions.

1:36:46Do they happen or not? We don't really hear people talking about abductions in most of the public space with this subject anymore. It used to be really discussed a lot. I think they still go on. I actually think abductions are real. I don't know that they're all real. All of the claims are real, but I think some of them, I believe, are. That's interesting and important. We want to know about that. These days, I really love thinking about them and speculating about them, not from any specific knowledge that I have. I have no recollection of an interaction with an alien, but I'm fascinated by trying to do counterintelligence on them and to try to understand them on the basis of the data that we have.

1:37:35And I actually now believe that there are things that we can infer about them. And And I was discussing some of those with you earlier. I think they don't want to communicate with us. They've got their own plan. They've got their own thing to do. They're interested in us because of our trajectory. Yeah, I think those are true. Whether they like us or not, whether they think we're worthy or not, I don't really know what I think. But these are the things that I follow, and I don't like to be taken off of that. Because the other things that people are into, like the latest news thing here and there, I just don't find that interesting most of the time.

1:38:10But I do think that there are things that are fascinating. On a day-to-day basis, are you just constantly researching and looking for stories and reports and encounters of what people may have talked about regarding UFOs? What does a typical day-to-day look like for you? Yeah, yeah. So, well, right now I'm actually in the process. I mentioned a few times I got this USO project. So I'll just say it here. I'm working on a three-volume history of unidentified submerged objects. So I published the first volume earlier this year. They're each about 400 pages. And it goes through the whole history from the earliest reports that I think are credible right up to the present day.

1:38:58That first volume ends in 1969. The second volume, which is about to be published, covers only two decades, 1970s and 1980s. But oh, my dear God, what two decades they were. And then the third volume, all the cases are written for that. That takes it to the present. So when I when I wake up, like I spent all of the last week wrapping up the conclusion of my second volume and just writing it. So I come to my desk right where I'm sitting here and I'm just I work and I write. And frequently I don't I don't interact with anyone. I'm just trying to write this damn thing. And, uh, but then like I have a website and, and it's a membership based website and like, I got to produce content for that or like people won't be happy.

1:39:44So I'm always, I'm thinking, okay, what do I want to talk about there? And, and so, uh, usually a couple of days a week, I'll, I'll, I'll think of something. Um, I'll write something or I'll do a video. Uh, and then I'm like, oh, I got to do a YouTube video, uh, this coming week. What am I going to, so I'll, I'll think about these things. So I'll periodically come back into the 2025 headspace because I have to be there. But then as soon as I'm done with that, I go back. I go back into writing my books because that's honestly where I'm at my biggest happy place is when I'm writing a book. I enjoy that more than anything else.

1:40:21I just like to sit, work on my shit, think about how can I make this as beautiful and perfect as I'm able to make it and put it out to the world and have another little baby out there. That's what I love more than anything else. I enjoy doing things like this with you. I enjoy very much because you know why? I'm sure you're well aware of this. how amazingly cool is it like for me to be able to sit down with a brilliant interviewer or a highly intelligent interviewer who asks great questions and have a great conversation like yeah that's that's a gift so i i enjoy all such opportunities as that so uh i that's very worthwhile uh and then like you know producing the content that i do for video or whatever like that's worthwhile i mean i i learn from that i it's not just me telling what i what i know to the world it's me researching something so i'm learning about it and then i i can uh you know talk about it on on camera all of that's valuable but uh my best my best happy place is when I'm writing a book, I think.

1:41:42I enjoy that more than anything else. Yeah, the thing with the social media is like, sometimes you can wake up, you're like, I just really don't want to make a video today. But you know, you can put that video out there, and it could reach 10s of 1000s or 100s of 1000s of people that may not have known who you were to begin with. And then automatically, you're just building this audience from all around the world. And even though you said it's quite a niche subject, like, I think a lot of people are interested in UFOs and a lot of stuff that you've got to say. So that's a bigger niche than it used to be.

1:42:17Are you familiar with the Red Queen hypothesis? This is from Lewis Carroll, who wrote Alice in Wonderland. And he wrote a follow up called Through the Looking Glass, which is a great book. So in Through the Looking Glass, Alice is talking to the Red Queen's character. her and the red queen says to her something like well dear you have to keep running faster and faster just to stay in the same place just to you know and that's our world where we live the red queen hypothesis like you just expressed it we're on a 24 7 hamster wheel you got to keep producing content you got to keep going and if you don't uh someone else will produce that content just as well or better than you and then you lose your views and then you make less money and it's like oh you Now what do I do?

1:43:00So you just constantly have to be going. So extended vacations, forget about it. You don't get to do that. You're always on. And you and everyone like you and me, because I'm in the same boat, have to be really careful about burnout because that can easily happen. It's like you're in a subject that's fascinating and you want to do it and all that is good. But at a certain point, like you just think, oh, how long am I going to do this forever? Is this like, is this it? I'm older than you. So like in my 30s and 40s, I had a tremendous amount of energy. Like I could just, I could work till 2, 2.30 in the morning every day.

1:43:52And I had no problem with that. I don't do that anymore. After dinner, I'm done. I don't want to look at work. I don't want to think about work. I'm out. I work in the mornings and afternoons. And anyone who wants me after that, I've got to take a number because I'm not interested. It's very rare that I want to work in the evening. So that's a problem because I may not be as productive, but you can't do this like full time all the time. It's just, it'll kill you. So that's a tough world that we're in. And I don't have a resolution to that because, and part of me would never want to stop anyway.

1:44:33I mean, honestly, I love this at a very deep level. But at a certain point, too, like, everyone has to look at their life and you got to think, do I really? Like, do I want to be doing this all the time forever? And for me, probably not. Like, I probably don't want to do this full time forever. What does the cost as well? Like imagine if you are, you say, so all right, well, I'm going to go all in on social media. I'm going to ramp up the content. You could do that, but then that probably means, well, I'm not going to be able to put that book out that I want. So what do you want people? Do you want, do you want more videos of me talking about the stuff that's already out there or do you want me to release this new book?

1:45:16Yeah, exactly. Which nobody has talked about. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I would rather, as long as I can make a living. Yeah. do my thing. I, I want, I still want to do the latter. I still want to be able to like, for me, I would like to produce a certain, whatever body of work it is. And I, I have no pretense that it's like a great body of work. It's just what I do. It's just like the things that I researched that I find interesting. You know, I write, I write it first and foremost for myself. I'm, I'm the first audience of my books. I do it to satisfy whatever it is I'm trying to work on. I want to make it so that other people enjoy it.

1:46:02I mean, you know, that's important. So I want to make it engaging for them. But I just do this because there's really nothing else that I really would like to do. Like, what could I ever really do with my life other than write books or talk about UFOs? Like, I'm not really good for anything else. maybe I could be a Walmart greeter in my later years that's about it, I can't really think of what else would I be good to do not a whole lot so this is the one thing like okay I can do this, I'll just keep doing this because it's interesting and I like it you're definitely doing a good job that's for sure thank you for coming on, it's been an amazing conversation where can people find you?

1:46:51uh oh man i've i've really enjoyed chatting with you mike honestly it's been really good um i have a youtube channel it's called richard dolan intelligent disclosure you can go check it out um and i do i do produce things there so like there's something new coming up every now and then i have a website called richard dolan members.com there's a paywall but there's a lot of free stuff there you can just go there's a lot of a lot of things i just put up for free uh if you just want to go peruse it. And, you know, I'm on X and Instagram, although I don't really do those things. I've got someone who put my things up for me.

1:47:29So I don't want to misrepresent myself and make people think, oh, yeah, I write all my Twitter exposes. I don't. I do sometimes. But you could find me out. the the books if if someone's is going to start with reading one of the books which is a start off with yeah i don't they're all like little babies that i love so i wrote two volumes of history called ufos in the national security state and those definitely got me known uh because of the first two books i wrote and i still i still think the second volume of that study was the hardest book I ever wrote and the longest book and maybe the best book.

1:48:16And then I wrote After Disclosure with Bryce Zabel. We co-authored that. And that was the only study really ever done. I'm like, okay, we want to talk about disclosure. How could disclosure happen? And if it were to happen, how would it rock our world? So we kind of explored that back in 2010. And we got, I think, a lot of things very right. A couple of things we did not foresee. but still could happen. That was an interesting study. I wrote UFOs for the 21st Century Mind, which is probably for most people, like if you wanted one book, that would probably be the one I would recommend because it's like a single volume.

1:48:52My attempt at saying like, what is important about UFOs? Why should you read it? Why should you study UFOs? Here's why. And I try to write it in an engaging way. And I just updated that book a couple of years ago. So UFOs for the 21st century mind might be my vote for the first but then i wrote a book called the alien agendas which was just me speculating on them um um and now the three volume uso series um which i'm currently writing in some ways honestly i think the uso series is the most approachable because it's um you just open it up and it's like oh here's a case and it goes for like one page let read this case oh cool you know that kind of thing so there's analytical aspects of that book you could read i wrote a long long introduction which is a whole statistical analysis you can or don't have to read that stuff but the um but the cases in that book are extremely approachable so um and i think the second volume which is about to come out um very soon is following along with that so um yeah you know i don't i it's like ask a mother which child do you love the most i i don't know i love them all

1:50:12awesome thank you very much once again i i appreciate what you're doing and uh i thank you for your time oh thank you and i wish you and your channel great success and uh my my greeting to all of your viewers and listeners Thank you.

Richard M Dolan started researching UFOs to answer one simple question for his PhD work, and thirty years later, he still can't look away from what the declassified documents are telling him.

In this episode, you’ll hear why mainstream historians ignore military reports from the 1940s that explicitly state these objects aren't Soviet or American technology, what “high strangeness” means and why even sceptical researchers can’t dismiss it, and how the 2017 New York Times articles changed everything about who’s allowed to discuss this publicly.
