2:24James Harrison:welcome back to Debo and Joe I'm your host James Debo Harrison and I'm here with my co-host Joe Hayden please make sure you like and subscribe and download where you get your podcast how you doing over there Joe what you doing man look man I'm vibed up I'm out in Cabo kicking it with my homies on a little golf trip. Wifey, let me come out here. We're at what's it called? Chileno Bay? Chileno Bay? Cabo? Where's Cabo, man? I'm going to tell you this right now. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world. And I'm going to bring you next time I come. Yeah, I'm okay. Where is it, yo? In Cabo.
3:04James Harrison:Where is Cabo, bro? Mexico. Mexico. Oh, hell no. I'm in Mexico right now. Kicking it. Nah, bro. I can't. I need a passport or something, don't I? Yeah, you definitely do. They tried to hem me up at customs. See? G-Ball. Yeah, that's what they did. They did. What happened? Randomly checked. Went all through my bags and everything. To be more careful. But I'm good. I'm good. I'm here. I'm chilling. Yeah, yesterday I came through. Ended up golfing. Yeah, I know. For sure, got to be more careful. But I'm good. Got through. Got through. Got through. Safety first. Safety first. People, you stupid. Oh, no.
3:41James Harrison:Yeah, yeah. If you know, you know. But yeah, I'm good. Everything's solid. No, no, no, no, hey. Everything's good. Listen. Yes. Listen here, man. What you got right there? I think I saw something. You got something in your hand? I see something in your... Oh, nothing? Oh, okay. I was just making sure. I was just making sure you ain't dropping, you ain't sitting nothing down. I thought I saw something in your hand, you was sipping on something. I don't know. Oh, you talking about this little thing. It's about... Oh, it's gone. What time is it? It's 12... 12.30, 1.30 somewhere. What time is it right here?
4:13James Harrison:It's about 9.05 in Cabo. Yeah. 9 what? 9.05. A.M.? A.M.
4:26Wow.
4:27James Harrison:That's crazy. Early bird get a worm, Deebo. Early bird get a hangover the next day, too, out here. You know what I'm saying? Stu. Man, let's go ahead and jump into this little still and stuff, man. Still and Deebo, they said they wanted to know what's up. with the top 10 cash earners. Who could we possibly, look at this little thing right here, man. They want to know who we could possibly move on from and who go stay, man. What you think of that list? Who do you think? This is my thing. When I look at this list, it's obviously TJ Watt. He's not going nowhere. DK Metcalf, if I would have been the Steelers, I mean, hopefully he comes out and balls out again this year.
5:08James Harrison:He can't go nowhere. And now we look at Alex Highsmith. So Alex Highsmith, I love Alex Highsmith. When I talk about this stuff, it's not like I don't want my boys to feel like, no, Joe's talking about getting me out the way. No, I'm not talking about getting you out the way. I'm just saying from the outside perspective of business-wise, when Nick Herbert comes in and he's balling at the same position, TJ Watt has that money already. He's not going to wear Highsmith. You're in a position where you're a baller, and that's good. So the Steelers, they know they can get something for you, and you also have dose.
5:39James Harrison:So that, when I say Alex Highsmith, I mean it respectfully, not like, nah, they don't need you. No, you're nice. So that's why you can be able to, they can get stuff for you and it'll work. Yes, they can get a benefit from it. Plus it opens up something to be able to see, you know, depending on what their plans are with Nick Hurd. 1 ,000%. So that's why I try to get into the names and talk about what's going on. It's not like, no, I don't want him. Like he's not, I'm like, no, no, it's good. You are an asset and they can be able to make something. you can get something for you that's value, but it sucks when you say it about your boys.
6:13James Harrison:Then we got Jalen Ramsey. I like Jalen. I think Jalen can still - Jalen ain't going nowhere. That's what I'm saying. Jalen's not going - I love Jalen. Jalen's chilling. Out of these first three, it would have been DK if I was the Steelers when he did that little thing on the side and I could have got - Who you go have then? Who you go have then? Who I'm going to have? I'm going to go get - I would have got somebody. But I'm just saying, all right. Now, DK's there. You're right. Okay. I'm not mad. DK's there. Cam Hayward, obviously, chilling. McQueen, Patrick Queen, got to go. Got to go. Love him to death.
6:46James Harrison:But we need that. That's just, it's a lot of money there, and we can use that to get, you know what I'm saying, another asset at maybe the linebacker position. Pat Firemove and John New Smith. I like Firemove. I love Firemove. Homegrown. Homegrown. We love him. He didn't get as much playing time this season. Whenever he was out there, he was balling. So I like for us to maybe John New might got to go. Definitely keep Firemove. And we still got Washington. So Firemove and Mount Washington. Jalen Warren, 1 ,000 % keeping Jalen Warren. Yes. 1 ,000%. Like not even, no questions asked. And then Malik Harris, I'm not, he was solid.
7:27James Harrison:Stepped in. I say that's going to be like, that's an up and error after the draft decision, to be honest. That's depending on what we need. And depending on money. if money is needed. With
7:42Queen, I'm kind of
7:43James Harrison:with you. I think he even took Steelers out of his bio. I think he kind of see the writing on the wall. They may have had a conversation already because he had made, I think it was a couple days after the season was over that he was gone anyway. I think they have a roster bonus that's due him too. So you add that along with that, I think you're looking at a possibility of almost, what's that, 10? Was it? 10, 12? Is the roster bonus to 10? That they can say? No. Okay. The roster is like two and a half? Right, but it'll guarantee the salary. Yeah. So that's something. And then we got guys that are coming up on extension.
8:31James Harrison:They got a few guys right here. Another one where these five guys who you think, who are you signing first? That's what I want. Young piece. Joey Porter Jr. is going to be the first person that gets the bag. For one thing, he's homegrown. He drafted from the Steelers, and he's done nothing but get better every single season. And he's a dog. He wants to get better. I love the way he's—like, we was getting on about his, like, holding or whatever. Man, he was no holdings, barely gave up any, didn't give up any touchdowns. He's been balling. I think it's been almost three years. That's what I'm saying, brother.
9:09James Harrison:And like his stats speak for themselves. Nephew. Nephew. We talking about you getting that good bag, nephew. You deserve that bag. Listen, they going to have to give it now too because if they don't give it now. Going up. When Sertan messing around. Sertan, what's my man's name? From the Stingley. These dudes messing around and start getting 30-something milk. We need to go ahead and get them right. Give them a good. Y 'all better get it right for anybody to get anything. Yeah, right now. Right now. Right now. Right now. We give it to you. Yes. Right now. So he needs to get the bag. Who else was on that list?
9:40James Harrison:I'm looking at Nick Herbick for me being the second one that I would look at. But that also, like you said, that's dependent on what you're going to do. Because that's three people at the same position. Watt at 35. We got Highsmith at 15. And then Herbick at. It's like, okay. You know what I'm saying? Two is good. Because when you're trying to build a roster, you got to have three people at the same position making double-digit M's. It's just a little tough. And they deserve it. They deserve it. So you might not be able to be right here and get it. But you're going to be able to go there and get it for sure.
10:15James Harrison:I think Boswell, I want to say Boswell would be my next. Bro, 1 ,000%. Just because, like, that's him. And I think you can get a player deal. You ain't going to get a player-player deal, but you could get something because I feel like he's a guy that wants to stay in Pittsburgh. Boswell, he gets it. He's got so much going there. Yeah, so I think they could do that if they get a player deal. Another one is Dwayne Washington. I mean, sorry, Darnier Washington. Mount Washington. Darnier Washington. I think if you can get him at a reasonable price because he can block, Just do not leave him like one on one with a pass rusher.
11:01James Harrison:Yeah. Yeah. And on top of it, you know, he's still he's still a pass threat. So he can help you in both areas. It's just of what is that price? Yes. What's that number? You know, he's coming off being hurt, too. So, you know, I mean, I hate to say it. Segregation in the day, integration at night.
11:22Joe Haden:When segregation was the law, one mysterious Black club owner had his own rules. We didn't worry about what went on outside. It was like stepping in another world. Inside Charlie's place, Black and white people danced together. But not everyone was happy about it. You saw the KKK? Yeah, they were dressed up in their uniform.
11:45James Harrison:The KKK set out to raid Charlie, take him away from here. Charlie was an example of power. They had to crush him.

14:10Joe Haden:Welcome to Boys and Girls, the podcast where dating isn't dating. Arranged marriage is basically a reality show, except the contestants are strangers and your entire family is judging. You're sipping coffee with one maybe, grabbing dinner with another, and praying your karmic ken or barbie appears before your shelf life runs out. 14:58Joe Haden:Listen to Boys and Girls on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
15:04James Harrison:That's part of negotiation. And speaking of that, another one, dude, Conor. Conor Hayward, dude. I think he's actually up, though. And he, dude, he's another one, bro. He's on all phases of special teams. He play in all phases. He do tight end and fullback. He do a little sneaky, little sneak sneak. You know what I'm saying? I'm just saying, like, that just brought to mind that. And then, go ahead. With that, like you said, bro, Conor Hayward does a great job for himself because he makes himself like you need him. He's on all four phases. He makes your special teams, everything. He's on it. So that's where, like, I would say Johnnie Smith, he's going to be able to kind of get him out the way because he's doing all those other things.
15:49James Harrison:And then we got Firemuth and Washington to be like the real tight ends. But my man Connor Hayward, he's going to be more of a special teams role. You know what I'm saying? He wasn't really getting in there. He did the tush pushes. But him being able to make himself, like, you need him. You don't want to get rid of him because he's a four-phase guy. You got him on kickoff, kickoff return, punt return, and you know he's going to be solid. Right, and you can still use him in regular offense at two positions. And I ain't going to lie to you. I would feel like Conor would take a good deal because he likes being in Pittsburgh, got his brother there, think he's chilling.
16:22James Harrison:I wouldn't want him to, but I think he would. I mean, you got to also understand, like, you know, what he gives them is they're another role on another team where they're willing to pay so much significantly more to getting no knock no knock the numbers aren't crazy you know what I'm saying like he's just more of like a guy that you know like when I put like Dirty Red do you remember Dirty Red the linebacker yeah yeah I'm from Dirty Red guaranteed special teams guy he's gonna do his thing and if you put him in the game he's gonna know what the fuck he gotta do he's not gonna be out there MA and nothing so I feel like Conor's more he reminds me of Dirty Red but on the offensive side Yeah.
17:01James Harrison:And the last one is Keanu Benton. That's 95. Now, I know I talk bad about him, but when Casey was up there, him changed my mind. He had me go look at some stuff. Yeah. I ain't gonna lie. He had me go look at some stuff, too. And I think because since he got it, he still got to be like, I think I'm not gonna do nothing with him this year. That's just I just wouldn't. I think I would put him at more of his natural position. I think he's better from that four eye to the two. Don't get him tighter than the two. I think he could be very effective there. But, you know, I'm going to wait and see how this season starts rolling out and maybe, you know, try and get something done maybe midseason if he's playing so good, you know, that you can't lose him and that time come to actually getting paid, it's going to be, you know, it's going to be way more than I would try and, you know, Do the Steelers normally do deals, though, like during the season?
17:59James Harrison:Or is it more like if we don't do it during the offseason, then I ain't really seen too many deals get done during the season. I don't know, man. To be honest with you, I really don't know. I know they used to not do deals at all. And they started doing deals like in training camp. And hell, they just redid camp right before season started. So I don't know. Midseason, that may be something different. Because I'm looking at them real talk because, like, if he goes into the year without a contract, you know how that goes. And during the season, nobody's really talking about deals. You know what I'm saying?
18:32James Harrison:So once that offseason hits, he's free. He can be able to go. So I'm like, they're kind of betting on their self if, like, you want to get something done right before the season starts. Because as soon as that season starts, if he balls out now, he can be able to go and look and see what he wants to do. And now y 'all aren't going to be the first one to be like, all right, y 'all were here. I'm waiting for you. The season's about to start. What we going to do? And then y 'all don't give me a deal. Y 'all going to say, I got to play this last one and that could be free. That's where I'm like...
19:01James Harrison:If you go do that and be like, you don't want to wait until the season starts, then get him all the rest you can between that two and that four eye and see what he do, dude. He got nice. It's just that when you put him that two eye in to that zero, it's the ugly. He got to take He got to take two guys on. And that's a lot harder. That's a different frame. That's a different position that you got to get into. I mean, you got to be ready to grab grass immediately or be big and strong enough to stand up there and hold up. You know, just, I mean, that's just what it is. Every position got something dirty about it.
19:41James Harrison:That's one of the dirty positions when you're between that 2I and that C. Come on, man. You got to take two. You're needing dirt. You're getting murdered, but you're helping out. You're freeing up your linebacker. The coaches know. Nobody else do. But when we look at that table, like, look at that man in that jump. Digging in too. Boom. Linebacker got it. You did your job. You know what I'm saying? It's not. It's not. Like you said, everybody got something dirty to their job. That's the dirty stuff that your team, everybody's like this. I see you, brother. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been free.
20:09James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? So that's when, like, you don't get the name in the paper. So that's that dirty work. Yeah. So those are the five that was there. But, dude, is that right? We got 27 free agents, actually 27 total this year that are free agents. When you look at it, I think you're looking at what Aaron, you got Gainwell, you got the guard, Isaac, Austin, Samuel Jr., Cam Hayward, I mean, sorry, Connor, Duggar, Loudermilk, Holcomb. Those guys, well, I think we're going to lose. We're going to lose Gainwell. I don't think we'll be able to compete because he's free now. I'm not going to sit there and just take something that you give me.
Read the full transcript
20:52James Harrison:I'm going to at least let other people put offers in. A thousand percent. Yeah. And then Aaron, it's not that I don't like him. I just don't think we should resign him. I think we should give Will Howard a chance and go from there. But I also believe we should bring somebody in to be with him. I don't see Mason Rudolph being the competition for him. I'm with you on that a thousand percent. I feel like Gainwell is probably going to be the biggest one because if there's any way we can retain him, I would love to, but the money-wise, go get your bag. You came there, you came and did exactly what you had to do for us.
21:30James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? So, if you would take a friendly deal, a hometown deal, we would love to keep you, my brother. I'm just saying, we would love to keep you, but go get what you got. He did too much, man. He was doing too much. You hear what I'm telling you. He was like your dude in Cleveland. What's your dude in Cleveland? Who? The dude. I think he's a tight end, but he'd be playing running back and everything else, or he'd be, or he's a running back, and he'd be like, I don't know if he's a tight end or a running back. You know what I'm talking about. No, no, Junkins the running back.
21:55James Harrison:No, no. 44. What's his name? He hurt his hip on that catch. Oh, when he, yeah, yeah. I know you're talking about. What's his name, Chad? Come on, somebody. You know what I'm talking about, the tight end, 44. He was damn near Pro Bowler. 40 rest. Bro. I'm having a brain fart right now. I'm out in Cabo with the margarita and a hit. Yeah, yeah. And then the guard, Isaac, I think he's a little older, though. I want to say he's like maybe 31, 32 or something like that. And, again, that's another one where I'm like, you know, it's dependent on where they're at in the draft because, you know, signing him for, what, another year or two.
22:32I mean, that's cool if you got something already there that you're looking at being the starter.
22:39James Harrison:Then you got, what, the receivers. You got Austin, MSV.
22:50and that's it, right?
22:52James Harrison:Is Thielen gone? I think, well, I don't know. I don't think he signed any more than the rest of the season. So I would assume he's gone. I'm assuming that's going to be an Aaron thing, to be honest with you. We need real live receivers. Real live receivers. Harold Fannin Jr., that's it. Yes, Harold Fannin. Harold Fanning Jr. Harold Fanning. That's it. Harold Fanning. Yeah. 44. The legend. He's hooping. And that's why Joku, you know, it's just the league, the way the league goes. And that's why Joku got up out of there. Because they weren't going to give him the bag. Yeah. Hey, now look here. I want to go to the couple corners, to a couple DBs, actually.
23:36You got Pierce, Samuel Jr., and Peppers.
23:42James Harrison:Where are you at with that? Samuel Jr. is probably the only one that I feel like he's legit. He's legit. We can have him opposite Joey Porter Jr. and be able to get into his bag. I think he came out there and performed. He's fast. He got ball skills. And I just think he was, you know, this first season there last year, I think if he gets another year on his belt, he's going to be good. Who else did you say? Peppers. I'm not going to lie. I love Peppers. He got drafted to the Browns when I was there. I don't think I mean he was getting like he was on special teams every time he was getting flagged and penalties all over the place I love I love him as a as a person but I don't know if he he I don't know I don't think I don't think he might be the guy he's more of a special teams dude if we're gonna do it yeah I seen I seen special teams special teams dude and then when you look at it dude I think he's I think he's 30 already oh and you know you talking about you know you got that many years in you know how the price go up versus what you get for a younger dude, get somewhere around the same production that's going to be younger and grow up, you know, grow into it.
24:50James Harrison:So, you know, I think that's going to be a – The league, bro, like you said, Debo, the league is no joke. They don't play. The younger, like, he was drafted early too. Jabril, super good. But, like, I just don't see that it would have to be a team-friendly, you know what I'm saying, deal, because it's nothing too much that he's been doing to show that he'd get the bag. yeah yeah and i hate to do that but god damn you got to be honest on this show yeah you got to uh hokum co-hokum on the inside what do you think there um what do you think d-well i don't know i um i mean again that's another decision on like you could wait and see but you started looking at the age thing again and you know i think a lot of these guys on the back end of like all this you know this whole list of most of them it's gonna be an age and usage of what they provide you know that will have them not be resigned you know what i'm saying like you know that's just how it actually rolls the nature of the game starts coming to it yeah especially when you're just you know you're you're you're like a you know you're a role player but you're not a key role player, you know.
26:08James Harrison:So that's just, I think that's how it's going to go. The league is so crazy because it's like, either you're going to be, are you going to be the highest paid or you're going to be minimum? And there's no kind of middle area. You know what I'm saying? It's like, you're good. You're not. We're either going to pay you or we're not going to pay you. It's no like, no, you're average. You know what I'm saying? So like, we can give you a little here. I'm like, so that's what I'm saying. Like, I understand exactly. You either going to get the bag or they're going to get a younger dude to come in and let your ass go.
26:35Yeah.
26:37James Harrison:yeah yeah that's easy easy but like when you look at it like no no like i'm balling out and then as soon as you get the bag you better continue to ball out on that high level they're like why am i giving this man this money and like he's not hooping every single game so it's real live like you got it what have you done for me lately is a real live thing in the league like tj watt they're talking about tj when he's not getting a sack every single game they're like man tj getting that money I'm like, you're bugging. He's not going nowhere. He's a consistent dude. He just can't have two, three sacks every game.
27:08James Harrison:Just watch the tape. He's doing exactly what he needs to do. Is he fucking up? No. So just because it's not splash all over the place, that's when you start getting that money, people want that splash every time. And it's like, ho, ho, ho, we giving him 40? I'm like, yes, you giving him 40. You do not remember he had 22 sacks, dummy? You forget that quickly. So it's like, that part is where when you start getting that money, your ass better perform or you're going to get, they're trying to look at you crazy. Yeah, for sure. What y 'all doing over there in Cleveland though, man? It look like they ain't got no damn line.
27:42James Harrison:Yeah, y 'all about to let Wyatt Taylor, he gone. He gone. Look at his post. He gone. Joe Petonio, Wyatt, Tyler, he done. Thank you, Cleveland. With love. Segregation in the day. Integration at night.
27:59Joe Haden:When segregation was the law, one mysterious Black club owner had his own rules. We didn't worry about what went on outside. It was like stepping in another world. Inside Charlie's place, Black and white people danced together. But not everyone was happy about it. You saw the KKK? Yeah, they were dressed up in their uniform.
28:22James Harrison:The KKK set out to raid Charlie, take him away from here. Charlie was an example of power. They had to crush him.
28:35Joe Haden:From Atlas Obscura, Rococo Punch, and Visit Myrtle Beach comes Charlie's Place, a story that was nearly lost to time. Until now. Listen to Charlie's Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

29:46Joe Haden:Welcome to Boys and Girls, the podcast where dating isn't dating. Arranged marriage is basically a reality show, except the contestants are strangers and your entire family is judging. You're sipping coffee with one maybe, grabbing dinner with another, and praying your karmic Ken or Barbie appears before your shelf life runs out. Trust me, I've been through this ancient and unshakable tradition. I jumped in, hoping to find love the right way, and instead I found chaos, cringe and comedy. And now, I'm looking for healing. Boys and Girls dives into every twist and turn of the arranged marriage carousel.
30:26Joe Haden:The meet awkward, the near misses, the heartbreak, and let's not forget all the jokes.
30:34Joe Haden:Listen to Boys and Girls on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you feel uncomfortable, what do you put on? Biggie. You put on Biggie when you feel uncomfortable? Because I want to get confident. This is DJ Hester Prince. Music is therapy. a new podcast from me, a DJ and licensed therapist that asks one simple question. Who do you want to be? And what's the song that can take you there? Music changes what you feel and what you feel changes what you do, right? That moment where a song shifts something inside you, that's where transformation starts. This year, I'm talking to experts across every area of life, like personal finance icon Gene Chatzky, New York Times journalist David Gellis, relationship legend Dan Savage, human connection teacher Mark Groves and the man who shaped my ear more than anyone Questlove.
31:24Joe Haden:They'll bring the strategies. I'll pair them with the right records and we'll teach you how to use the music to make change stick. This isn't just a podcast. It's unconventional therapy for your entire year. Listen to DJ Hester-Krin's Music is Therapy on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
31:41James Harrison:The Teller family. I love you, Teller. You did what you had to do for the City, man, put on, worked your ass off, pro-bold, bold. I see me when I see Teller. I see me when I see Wyatt. I see me when I see Wyatt Teller. What do you see? I see somebody that gave his all, tried his hardest, did his thing, bold for the Browns. He's not the reason why. He's not the reason why. I was about to say, you light, but you ain't that light. I mean, you lift weights, but you don't lift weights like that, bro. He's swollen to me. He's swollen to me. But you know what I'm saying? I mean, I see Cleveland pride in him.
32:18James Harrison:That's what I'm saying. They said it was what they call it, a poison pill in his contract or a stipulation in his contract where he was guaranteed $99 million base salary in 28 if he was not cut by the third day of the new year. Boy, that man knew he was chopped suey. $99 million? They ain't even let him go yet. This is probably going to be a post-June 9th cut, you know, because that'll let them spread the cap hit over two years. So what are you telling me? He's staying on the— No, he gone. That's what I'm saying. He gone. He already knows he's gone. He gone. It's like, okay, he's gone, but we ain't going to really cut him cut.
33:04James Harrison:It's not if but when. Post-June 1st. It's not if but when. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It ain't no if but when. Yeah, Joe. It ain't no if but when. 99 million. He knows he out the door. Not yet. What? That was set in there. If they keep me, I'm good. If they don't, I'm good too. I'm super duper good. He's 31, but he's young 31. I think he only got, what, eight years in or something like that? He's a fucking hooper. I got to figure out what we going to do with that line. We getting rid of all of our lines. You're about to say you need to figure out what you going to do with your whole line. The whole line.
33:39James Harrison:He gone. He gone, Joe. What y 'all going to do? He gone. How you lose your whole... How you lose five? Put that in position to make sure you lose your whole offensive line. I don't know. What they doing over there in Cleveland, Joe? Is that even, is that even, I don't even think that's possible in modern era. To not even have, you signed the whole line just to get rid of everybody. Maybe y 'all said y 'all was going to fire the coach. I don't know. What was going on? Man, look. All I know is we better, we have to get a line. We don't have nobody. That must be that new analytic where, hey, if you fire your whole line, you got a better chance of winning next year.
34:17James Harrison:You're going to draft five old linemen, and I don't know what we're going to do, brother, with that. That's just sad. That's just sad. Look, we're going to figure it out, though. I'm going to let them get the chance, because they know the same thing we know. I don't know how the hell you're going to get five new linemen, but you better go protect your door, and I hope code the new coach is in that trying to figure it out, because it's looking crazy right now. Hey, matter of fact, over there at the Ravens, the new OC, what's his name? Declan Doyle? Yeah, what'd he say? Hey, man, he said he would expect players, you know, to be here.
34:54James Harrison:It's certainly, you know, it's certainly voluntary, but he just basically goes on to say, yo, if you want to say that you're winning and you want to build a championship team, you got to show that, you know, you're trying to put in a championship effort and everything else. And all the guys need to be here. So, everybody, I don't know. I'm just going on what people say. And I'm just part of the people. But I'm just, I'm asking, was that a subliminal hit to Lamar Jackson who, you know, he really don't, he don't really rock with the offseason? Shots fired, Debo. Shots fired. Shots fired? Shots fired.
35:27James Harrison:I'm going to tell you this. Yes, coaches want you, voluntary is mandatory in the NFL. They don't understand that. Like, no, no, no. Depends on your contract and your position. Depends on your contract and your position. But I'm telling you this. With the coaches, they want you to be there. For sure. When they say, if you're teetering, your ass not there, you're not on the team. If I'm teetering. That's mandatory. If you were the ball, you got your stuff together, you know what I'm saying? You might show up at the end of OTAs. Okay. When it's not mandatory, it's not mandatory. Well, the OTAs, man, I think everybody can show up to them.
36:08James Harrison:Because you can still go back and do all your workout stuff. I hear you. I hear you. I hear you, but I'm telling you this. Do you know? You know. Coaches, they want you there. They want the team. Why are you not here when we're here? It's voluntary. And then at the same time, you make$50 million a year. You the main man. Everybody's following you. You're supposed to like, that's what. It ain't about following you. Our success is dictated off of you. We need you here building all that camaraderie, building up that time and building those relationships. You know what? Just seeing the quarterback in the building.
36:44James Harrison:It's like, okay, yes. But, hey, I like it because, hey, as long as it benefits us in some way, shape, or form. No. I don't know. I'll tell you. I don't want him as ready as he could be. I like that a whole bunch. But the thing is, too, Lamar Jackson got right to be able – man, it is voluntary. So, he doesn't have to be there. You know what I'm saying? It makes it look like, where's your quarterback? You know what I'm saying? You want him in there getting anything? I mean, you got a whole new O.C., though. Is he changing it? Is he not rocking with him? Is he like this, man? No, I see you when I see you.
37:14James Harrison:Hardball gone, man. Everybody. Like, what we talking about? And on top of that, your OC say this. And y 'all looking to try and get this man to restructure. Only, no. Only, only, only, only way they did the Lamar Jackson's restructure is that they're going to give him more guaranteed. And he not changing nothing for these fools. They better do what they did with Patrick Mahomes. You got your baller here. He got base salary. churn it in the signing bonus and free up some cap space, dummy, because he's going to get that 50. Like, give him his 50, knock that off. That's why I look at the teams. What are you doing?
37:48James Harrison:Dude, speaking of that, that's what... Yes. Okay, so... Who was it? I forgot what it is. I'm going to have to get to it. I'm going to have to get to it, though. I'll remember. I just don't remember what the hell it was, but it has something to do with quarterback. I'll get to it in a minute. I just couldn't remember. Your boy Tyreek, I guess he had a little post that he put up. What's the cat's name? He put this on X. I guess it was him with the time stamp and the whole, there it is. KC right there. You see that Kansas City right there? Right there. You see it right there? You see that KC right there?
38:26James Harrison:Smart man, Debo. So, hey, so you thinking they bringing him back? That would be the smartest and best situation for both parties. They need Tyreek. They need a man that can do what he did, go deep and be fire. And he needs Patrick Mahomes and get himself back to where letting everybody know, I am still Tyreek Hill. I'm still that man. And I can go, you know what I'm saying, do what I got to do. So it's a match made in heaven. I think with Tyreek, he don't need to go to no team that's sorry just to go get as much money as you can. No, he's going to be pissed. He's going to blow it up. That's the thing.
39:01James Harrison:I don't know how much money he's going to get. I don't give a damn. He needs to go there for whatever day. He's trying to get as much as he can from Kansas City. but it's not going to be as much you can get from like Carolina. They might. But he wants to win too. They might be setting it up for him. Who? You know? Yes, yes. Patrick Mahomes, you know he just restructured his deal again. They said clearing up almost 44 million of cap space for this year. I try to tell you all the time, brother. I really think I am a contract analyst, brother. I'm telling you. I should really do that. I should be on my GM shit.
39:35James Harrison:because I know how to move that cap, how to work that cap. I'm going to work that cap. You hating. Don't hate. Don't hate because I'm going to work that cap. I ain't hating, bro. Don't hate because I'm going to work that cap. You don't, bro. Okay, so what you going to do with Travis Kelsky? He's done. Nope. I'm going to talk to him. Look here, Trav, the same way goddamn Tom Brady. When you get to that level, that man Trav got so much dough and his lady got so much dough. He's cooling by now. Is it for the Brad Trap? No. Okay? So, he's still going to—we're going to be able to figure out a little smooth, not no disrespectful, John.
40:12James Harrison:A little— How much are you thinking? Like eight? Like eight? That man just finished a two for 34, 17 a year. Are you crazy? No. He can't even—Taylor can't even get around to the games for that. Bruh, he'll do it for the 10-piece because he's not going to leave his man Patty out to dry. That's his mans. These are homies here. And it's not all, like you said, Debo, is it all about the money? No, it's not all about the money. She got a billion dollars. That's why he cleared up 43 so his homeboy could get 34 again. Listen. Hey, now don't forget, the running back, now he up two. And guess what? He might not get it.
40:54James Harrison:They might have to go draft. They're going to draft a running back. They're going to draft a running back. Okay, you draft a running back. They hunt up two. They're going to draft a running back. and Hunt is going to stay Hunt. You're going to bring him in there to learn all this protection stuff. No, you're going to drag him back. Listen, the Kansas City Chiefs, they don't need too much. So if you need to go get you, they'll get you a fire running back. Bruh, you seen what not having too much got. Patrick Mahomes having to run every time. Line. Ended up injuring himself. They need line and they need a running back.
41:23James Harrison:And Rice, dude. Rice? He only got one year. Let me tell you something. When you have a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes and you're able to make his money guaranteed, make it into a signing bonus where that cap hit goes away, you should guarantee all of it. You should make every year Patrick Mahomes on your team, change his fucking contract to fully guaranteed, and then that's going to open up all the cap space. Signing bonus him. He's making 45, give him 45, and give him a million dollars during the season for his base. So that's still going to hit the cap. It's just going to be spread over to the left of what's left on the contract.
41:59James Harrison:Don't worry about it. We'll figure that out later. They always listen. D-Bow. Do you realize what does Patrick Mahomes make it? Patrick Mahomes is making like, I want to say somewhere around like 50. Knew it. Dak making 60 right. That's what it was. He gave a team deal. He did 10 for 500 million. He did 10 for 500. A team friendly jump. That's what I'm telling you. When you got Pat, you can manipulate. You can make things move. He done tore his ACL. He ain't nothing friendly no more. That's okay. That was unfortunate. Like, would we, would we, come on. Deepak can't believe. Ain't nothing.
42:39Joe Haden:Then she says, have you seen a photo of my son? And I'm like, who is this person? Welcome to the Boys and Girls podcast. Arranged marriage is basically a reality show.
