And I wanted to introduce you to my new podcast, Professional Jealousy, where I'll talk to people I'm inspired by and yes, a little bit envious of. So why am I doing this? Well, let's start with the fact that I just thought, fuck it, why not? The introduction of podcasts into my life have been great. I love the medium. I love the fact that I can explore a world of ever-expanding topics from work-related to fun, politics to culture, weird niche topics and interests. I can honestly say that while I've been a consumer of media, podcasts just expanded my world and made me feel more interesting, interested.
1:02yeah I love them so I thought I might as well have a go and see if I can make anyone else's listening just that little bit better hopefully this podcast also gives me an excuse to meet new inspiring interesting and creative people in a way that works for me people are always surprised when I say that I'm kind of introverted and I can definitely play social but I feel like this is a great way to interact with people in a way that I can handle. It's one-on-one and for a finite amount of time. Which brings me to another reason. I'm a strategist and I really love understanding more about the world I work within.
1:41Entrepreneurs, brands, businesses, I love exploring how things work, uncovering insights, all that good stuff. So I do hope that despite being old and having done strategy forever, that this will help me continue to grow. I know that that last point sounds a little cliche and way too earnest, but I'm okay with being a little bit dorky. I also think that this podcast should help everyone kind of see how different and varied everyone's career journey really is. I'm always asked about my career journey. And the fact is that I've managed to kind of meander my way through without a real plan, set of goals, no real specific mentors, and I've done okay.
2:27And I think it's good to know that it's okay, whatever way you do it. I hope that listening to these stories of how people created stuff, figured things out, were lucky, messed up, learned, tried again, can help everyone listening realize that there is no one way of doing anything. So I guess that's it. I hope you enjoy listening. Thank you to everyone that I've spoken to. Thank you to anyone that listens. If you have any suggestions for people that I should talk to, please do email me at Natasha at professionaljealousy.com. I just want to say thank you so much to Carl Johnson at Anomaly and John Legere at Unreasonable Studios for helping me get this together.
3:13I'd like to shout out the talented designer Ruby Colwell and the incredibly patient producing of Shimmy Boyle. If you like these episodes, please share and follow. And yeah, until next time.
