1:16Welcome to The Businessmen. I'm Ben, and I am very, very excited because I have a very special episode. So Joel is still at home with his little baby, but we're going to be hearing from him. And also for the first time after a couple of years of talking about this, months and months of discussing it, getting you guys to help us with the name, the logo, every step of the way. I'm really excited. We are going to get some early samples of our foreskin, which we're going to be trying out in this very episode. We're going to be hearing from Angela Ajay, who is our product development director. We're going to be hearing from me and Joel and especially excited that you guys out there are going to get your hands on some of these products as well.

2:03So you guys filled out the survey. You have informed us every step of the way when we talked to you about what products you wanted. You wanted high performance. You wanted low effort. You wanted things that were easy to use, that were simple to put onto the skin, that wasn't a million steps in the routine, that you could just get your hands on quickly, do it in the morning do it in the evening and not have to worry about it excessively and we have listened the most exciting thing is Angela has spoken to the guys that have formulated the first ever samples and we're going to be trying them on this podcast today we are also going to send out some samples to some of you out there as well so make sure you are following us on the businessman socials on Instagram on our for skin socials on Instagram and TikTok and of course following the podcast if you follow us and then tag somebody else in, then you could be one of the select few that gets to get their hands on our foreskin before anybody else.

3:00I mean, I don't know what could be more attractive. But having heard of us bang on about it for ages to actually get to sample some of these, and we need your feedback as well. You've been so key up till this day. So if you know a man that you're willing to offer up as a guinea pig in your life, whether that be a husband, a boyfriend, a partner, a brother, an uncle, whoever it may be, You can try that out as well. 3:46Okay, here's the story so far. We decided to start a business together. Didn't really know what we were doing. We had no idea. We got a great team. Get a great team. What did they say? Well, they said they needed to hear from the public about what they actually want from men's skincare. So that's what we did. He's not lying. We asked you to fill out a survey. Over 6 ,000 of you completed it. Thank you so much. We made it a competition, obviously. We're very competitive people. And then this happened. Okay, so the person who has got the least surveys completed and the person who will be receiving the nipple pierce is...

4:31Joel.

4:36Congratulations, Fred.

4:41Congratulations. I'm so proud. I'm so proud. What? Oh man! Unbelievable! The next stage obviously we needed a name for the brand which was chosen by you at home. It's your fault, okay? And obviously the one that won, you might know, is Joel and Ben. Foreskin. It was our foreskin but it was in your honour. So thank you, we appreciate it. It's the gift that just keeps giving us. It really does make me very very happy indeed. We love it. Next though was how on earth, now we have our foreskin, are we going to make it look? So we knew what we wanted and what we didn't want, but we put it in your hands.

5:23And we can now exclusively reveal the logo that our community has decided upon is, drumroll please, in post. This is the logo for foreskin. Oh my god, you guys picked this one and thank you, I think it's great. Thank you to you, we now have a logo. Thank the Lord, finally! Well thank all the Lords, our community of Lords and ladies. Yes, and right now I'm actually at Ben Shepard's house. Can I call it the Shepard's hut? Chez Shepard? Chez Shepard! and it's all been pretty mad right now because I've only got a two-week-old baby. But we've also got another baby to contend with. You have a cleansing baby.

6:13We have samples. And we have a moisturising baby. Which we need... It's a bit like formula, actually. Don't drink it, I've told you. We need to test these to get them on our skins. We need to get them on our skins. It's the first iteration of any sort of foreskin in our hands. it has been devised by our Angela. Should we find out how we're supposed to use Foreskin? Let's do it. So after months of surveys, of research, of polls, of briefing, we finally have our first drop. So the first set of samples you'll be receiving are cleansers. We have five in total. So one of them will be unfragranced and the other four will be fragranced.

6:56The reason we did that was if you remember from the surveys that we did um there was actually an even split between the community saying they preferred something fragranced lightly scented versus unfragranced so we've obviously accommodated that um we have also subsequently done another survey to see what types of fragrance you're looking for so we have i think we've received the results of woody and citrus those are the top two so we've incorporated some amazing essential oils in this to give you some lovely blends so we've got things like sandalwood juniper berry mandarin you know lime so a great great mix and a lovely set of blends for the cleanser um one thing i would say is to be quite generous you know see how the foam actually lathers up um joel i remember you saying that you know you can tell a good cleanse by uh by the quality of this foam so make sure you give me some great feedback on that think about the texture when you're applying it it's is it too much of a gel is it too sticky does it need to be creamier um how does your skin feel afterwards um so yeah let me know your thoughts on those and we have our moisturizer as well so with the moisturizer again this is unfragranced simply because of the community um again testing for texture how does it feel when you're applying it onto the skin how long does it take to absorb into your skin how does it feel once you've left it on for a while after a couple of hours does your skin still feel hydrated um little things like that and of course any additional comments that you have on these initial samples it's been like I say it's been a lot of a lot of briefing a lot of research a lot of involvement from the community so once we get this first feedback it'll be great to make some tweaks make some changes and yeah we'll see how we go

9:10here we go right it's the unboxing day this is it we have our first sample of for skin 6 000 people surveyed and it's all gone into these pots and these are the initial iterations and we're all going to try these we're going to feed back our thoughts on these and we will get some more so these won't be the things that eventually come to market these are just early early examples of foreskin. I'm just opening. What are you opening now? I'm opening Moisturiser DB01182. It's catchy! That's all we're gonna keep is the name. Okay it's good stuff. That's satisfying. That is, oh my god that already feels fantastic.

9:57I'm excited. That one is. Bergamot, grapefruit, and pettigran. What? Pettigran. Pettigran. What is pettigran? It sounds like something that maybe a type of basil, doesn't it? Yeah. Can I have the pettigran, please? Here we have the three, four versions of the cleanser, potential cleanser, Joel. Yep. One of which is unfragrant. the others do have a fragrance because that was a big question for um everybody in the foreskin community do you want fragranced or unfragranced and quite a big percentage said unfragranced and i really like unfragranced too but with like a sense of something so the sense of fragrance sense of fragrance you know like not fragrance but something that's got like an oil in it And then we've got one moisturiser to try before we go back with our notes for that.

10:56So should we start with just the fragrance? How we feel about the fragrances in front of us. Is there one that you prefer? I don't know yet. I don't think I know what any of that tastes like. Or smells like. I don't want you to taste it. I've talked to you about this. Cleansers are not for drinking. What? Yes. I thought I wore bubbles. Here we go. So this is the initial testing of our foreskin in a very small bathroom. A very cramped bathroom. It's the sweatiest day known to man. Right, so you're going to... So start with this. This is lime, cypress and sandalwood. Okay. We want consistency of the creamerizer, the cleanser.

11:46I've never thought I'd be in a downstairs loop with Ben Shepard. What's on our face? It's like we're married. Can you get a hairband? Get a hairband. Come on. Let's do this properly. Come on. There you go. I love this. There you go. Right, how's it look? How's it feel? Let me get it in as well. I don't know. This is the weirdest video I've ever made. Oh, it's nice. The water goes. Oh, that's laughing up beautifully. It's a really good thing to say. This is mental isn't it? It's quite good. Oh yes. So we like foam but we don't want trim up do we? I'll tell you what. It feels quite nice on the top.

12:24Our team have absolutely smashed this because this is a really... I'm not even kidding this is actually brilliant. The... It feels really lovely on the skin. Oh my goodness it doesn't feel too dry. How about that because this is the one that's probably got the strongest... strongest odour.

12:49Could it do with more foam? No.

12:56I think it's good. That's not the fragrance I want, I think. But consistency-wise. Let's go with this one, which is the unfragrance one. Interesting. We haven't made four clay yet, have we, which was the shower gel that we were gonna make. We're gonna make, yeah. Yeah, you could do with that. Full blade, full eyes, and full skin. That was our initial thought. Oh, hold on now. This is labelling up beautifully.

13:24I've got a little more soap on my face. It's not bubbling though, it's not foaming. Do you want a bit more foam? I really like the level of foam. I think that's exactly the right. Is it? It's foaming up loudly, without it being too much. Okay. You know some of them aren't enough? Yeah. And you're like, come on, lather you piece of shit. Come on, lather me. This is Mandarin. This is the one. Oh my god, this is great. Oh, you can get the, it's really interesting, as soon as there's a bit of... You're taking the hairband off. Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry. Let's get serious. Come on, you're professionals now.

14:05What do you think Alan Decker are up to? Look, there's a lather there. I think that's great. How does it smell?

14:15Unfragranced? No, this is fragrant. Oh, shit. Which one was that mandarin? This is the juniper. I think we might have to stop at this one. Just have a rest. Cause I get a bit dirty. So just get a roll in the mud for a bit, come back. I don't think I've ever washed my face four times in a row. I never have. I never, ever have.

14:39But, I really... It looks nice in the skin. Honestly, I'm not being a dick. This is exactly what I want in the freezer. The consistency, the feel of the cleanser on your skin. Exactly what I want. You look like we've just done the cleanest Tough Mudder ever. Tough Mudder's not as hard as this. Tough lather. Tough lather. We're doing the Tough Lather. We're doing the Tough Lather. Shall we have a break and then we'll come back. How's the lather on that? It's good. Okay, I'm gonna go consistency on the hands. Consistency on the hands. That feels like a nice sort of texture, not too slimy. This is great stuff.

15:19If I was on the internet, I'd watch this. I've never tried this one before. Oh, he's chucking from the right back. Actually, you do suit glasses. It's not bad. It's really cool. It's not bad, is it?

15:47Our first moisturiser, Sampel. Our faces have been washed 14 times. Now we're going in for this bad boy. Ben's not out of storage already. because I run out of storage like my skin's run out of space to be clean. This is... I'd say it's a cliche white. Oh, how does it feel as you rub it between your... I really like that. It feels rich but not too heavy. I hate those ones, a lot of male moisturizers, male oriented moisturizers. Like really thick and creamy. It's all right, it's all right. Honestly, yeah. I like the consistency of it. For those that are listening to this, I thoroughly recommend you look on YouTube.

16:46Joel is applying the moisturizer to his t-zone and his ear holes and his mouth and around his jawline. You put it on the gua sha. You're gua sha-ing. I'm actually really enjoying a gua sha. This is the first time you've had foreskill on your face? This is the first time in a while. Does it feel like you hoped it would? It feels great. And we found the smallest room in the house to do this. This is my favorite content room in your house. I'm so glad we found it for you. I love the fact that you know most of the rooms via content. This is your content room. I'm telling you man, you can't change this window in your renovation because this is now your tripod.

17:30It's going. This is your content room. You've got to have a word with my wife about that. So this is it. You've got to redesign the house. It's like a beautiful, you've got depth, you've got great light, you've got an orchid. This is the content room. Look, look, you got that. Good friends are hard. And that's it. That's all it says. Their good friends are hard to find, harder to leave and impossible to forget. I love that. I'm going to cry. Right then, foreskin. My favourite, I'm going to say what my favourite is. Already? Don't say it now, don't say it now because we've got to send our feedback.

18:07We've got to send our feedback and we want some of the community to get involved as well. So their feedback is really important and you can't influence things because you are an influencer. I've told you about that in the past. Right we're going to write some things down we're going to try and give some feedback and then hopefully we'll get some new versions that we will be able to update with.
